Looking to the video on Elliot's screen, the ex-actor cringed. People had way too much time on their hands. "I hate that line," he uttered, sticking his tongue out and shuddering for emphasis. Of course, Elliot seemed to love it. Maybe it was funny to him. Or it was some sort of awful revenge for the light tormenting Asher had given him earlier. Either way, it took quite a bit to keep himself from snatching the phone out of the kid's hands to silence it. Deep breath! Woo. Okay, he was good. At least until Elliot had an opportunity to hit the replay button!
"Did you find the pictures of five-year-old me?" While sounding genuinely curious, at the same time, it seemed hesitant. Just how easy was it to find those things online? Of course, he wasn't about to suggest checking IMDb or something. That would just be way too easy! Then again, a lot of images, he could only hope, were ones from his last season on-air. At least those were less cutesy-child looking!
Isaac seemed surprisingly interested in the subject, inquiring a much less surprising question. Recalling far too many repetitive interviews, and even questions from people passing on the street, one would think that Asher would have perfected an answer to this, by now."Uh." Or not! "Which part?" Eyes shifted to Piper for some assistance on the subject, but she was too busy doing research on her own phone to even notice the hesitance. So much for getting some assistance! Ah well.
"Depends on the gig and the rest of the cast!" Improvise! What was he supposed to say about this subject? The boy grinned, "I mean, I liked it so much that I didn't want to go home most nights!" Another half-truth, it seemed. Perhaps the enjoyment of being there was more accurately described as a joy of not being at home. But, who needed that little detail?
"Why? Dream of being on the big screen?"

Elliot thought on Asher's statement. Then he grinned mischievously and went to play the video again, before mercifully putting the video to a stop before it could really get going again. Who knew Elliot had the guts to go for a revenge ploy like that? Of course, it seemed like Asher had other embarrassing secrets on his mind besides dorky catchphrases. At hearing five years old, Elliot admittedly had to do a double take. "Wait, five?" he asked, as if trying to confirm that yes, this guy has been on the big screen longer than most kids had been in the education system. How the heck was that even possible? Was he just a really, really cute baby? "That explains some of those commercials I scrolled past. Wait a second, that means you were the kid in that one commercial! You know, the one with the dog. They still air it sometimes, you know." Somehow, Elliot had the feeling people were already all too happy to remind Asher of that fact.
While some people might have found Asher's answer to the other question a copout, Isaac had pretty much expected it. Honestly, drama was already a variable enough field when it was on the small scale. For example, the drama club director back in Oakland? Total jerk. It was no wonder Isaac never tried again after his big stumble there. He could only hope the one over here would be a lot more understanding, especially when he was a foreigner still wrestling with the intricacies of the language. Still, it sounded like Asher found an especially good group, even if they gave him the most schmaltzy and cornball lines imaginable. And it must've been really nice having what amounted to a second family to come back home to. Isaac was still wishing he had more than two thirds of one.
Unfortunately, now it was Isaac's turn to have to BS his way out of giving a straight answer. After all, what was he supposed to say on that note? "I'm not sure, I'm just too darn short for it!" "Oh, heck no, I'm nervous everyone'll laugh at me." "I don't want my career to explode, and then have to get carried through the rest of my life by my little brother, as usual." Okay, so those were all the worst case scenario fears, but they were still some of the ones swirling in that brainpan of his. At the same time, he had to admit the prospect was every bit as exciting as it was unrealistic. And if there was someone who could give him a prospective in, even a rather odd one . . .
Okay, no. One thought at a time. Isaac told his brain to get its shit together and churn out a proper answer, and somehow it obliged. "Not sure. I think I'm gonna see about getting my feet on the ground before even thinking of that, anyway," he decided.

The redhead moved to reach for the phone the second that Elliot's hand went to hit play. Luckily, it seemed to be a trick, and the boy stopped before phones could be stolen. Asher let out an exaggerated breath, dropping his head. "So much hate for that line." Fixing his hair, an incredulous look was shot. "Seriously? I knew there was a reason why I stopped watching T.V." Well, that, and other things. The media wasn't always so friendly.
As long as nobody was googling news articles, it was fine! If that were the case, Elliot would really have to watch out for his phone. There was a good chance that Asher wouldn't take friendly to that form of snooping. Luckily, it was easy to get youtube lost, so he imagined that if Elliot continued to search the site, he would end up watching giraffes licking trees, or something completely unrelated.
So, instead, he turned his attention to the drama boy. And watched the all-too-familiar expression of someone sifting through what answer to provide. "Hey, as long as it's for yourself, shoot for the stars. Or, some really far away planet? Pluto? Shoot for Pluto. Worst case, you miss, and either go further, or you end up at least on the moon, right?" If Isaac could follow that train of thought, it might actually seem like decent advice. If he couldn't, there wasn't much loss, in Asher's opinion. He didn't care about looking sentimental or smart! In fact, if he was thought to be the opposite of either of those, it was for the best!
"Isn't there a drama club here, or something? Pip, didn't you consider that one?"
"Don't call me that in public." Well, it seemed that the internet-lost girl wasn't going to answer that question any time soon! Oh well, it probably wasn't important!

Thankfully, Elliot didn't really have much interest in looking for news articles. It was interesting seeing where this guy came from, but not "start tearing the guy's life apart right in front of him" interesting. He checked out a few more commercials, played his catchphrase one last time, and then put the phone away. "That's okay. I don't watch a lot of TV either, these days." Unless Goku's in it, of course. "There's just too much stuff to keep up with, so I focus on the stuff I really want to see and look it up later. Way easier than sitting around waiting for stuff to come on." It seemed Elliot was truly a child of the digital age. Of course, it probably didn't help that being in the less metaphorical Digital World left him with very little time to catch actual programmed TV.
That didn't make the teen leering over him any less uncomfortable, of course. Once Asher set his sights on Isaac, Elliot let out a palpable sigh of relief.
It was fitting that the space case was good at giving space related advice. The metaphor was kind of cheesy, but at the same time it made a lot of sense. Not trying would get him nowhere, while putting in the best effort could at least lead to some self improvement along the way. There was just that little factor known as embarrassing himself that stood in the way of it being perfect advice. Nevertheless, there would at least be a few people backing him up for sure. Elliot, for example. And Maia, that went without saying! Alicia too. Heck, even his mom, once she knew what he had planned, would probably be backing him up. With so many people on his side it'd just be a question of taking that first step, right?
"Yeah. You're right. Thanks for that," Isaac said, only to find himself rather confused by the next question. Of course there was a drama club! Heck, he'd just gotten done saying that was one of the things he was planning on doing for activities around here! Was this guy even listening to a word he said? Nevertheless, he shook his initial incredulous reaction. This guy didn't seem to know where he was at any given moment, so forgetting details from less than five minutes ago probably wasn't that outlandish. "I mean, I already said there was, right? I'm probably gonna give it a shot, if not this semester than the next one."
Elliot was far more distracted by the mention of Pip, trying his hardest not to snicker at the name. "No fair, there's no good stupid names I can give my bro . . ." he grumbled, trying to think of one that matched Pip in brilliance.
"You mean like Ellie?" Isaac asked, smirking.
"See what I mean? Not fair at all!"

"Oh. Did you mention it? I forgot." Talk about a spacehead! This guy couldn't remember from minute-to-minute, it seemed! He had too much going on in his head! Not that it really looked like it. Oh well! "You should try this semester. Better sooner than never, right?" Like he had room to talk! Asher tried to procrastinate on things so much, sometimes, that he completely forgot about the goal!
Piper threw a glare to the younger of the brothers, puffing cheeks. Elliot was lucky that he looked fragile, otherwise she'd be heavily contemplating elbowing him, too! Of course, that wasn't her brother, either, and it just wasn't the same. It was alright to hurt your own sibling! Someone else's? Not so much.
But, Asher was busy cackling at Elliot's nickname. "Ellie? That's even adorable!" How was this kid a dude? Was this some prank? Elliot had to secretly be a girl! He mentally prepared himself for the image of the boy in a skirt. Nope, nope. Elliot needed longer hair for this image to work.
Trying to throw the topic off of cutesy nicknames, Piper turned to her brother, "what was that about cake, earlier?"
Yup, that worked on Asher's part! The boy spun to his sister, like an excited puppy with their owner. "Yes! Cake!" Okay, a little too excited there. Regardless, the teen delicately pulled a ribbon-wrapped paper box out of the bag. In a strangely gentleman-esque motion, the teen lowered onto one knee, to be a closer height to the girl. After all, Asher was quite tall in comparison to a fifteen year old girl. Or in comparison to Isaac. Same thing, really.
Holding the box in one palm, Asher pulled the ribbon with his free hand, only lightly pressing the box for it to unfold. Inside was a small cake, large enough for four slices to have been cut into it, on a layer of tiny plates. Sure, it seemed like a dramatic piece, but it was Asher. Could anyone expect any less?
Some of the people in the hallway had even stopped to watch the small presentation, and the redhead swore he could see, out of the corner of his eye, a group of girls murmuring excitedly about it. Score! Maybe. Really, they were too young for him, but hey, if it made Piper look like she was being treated like a princess, it worked for him. Or if they were staring at him. That had no complaints, either!
Clearly, Piper didn't, as she simply stared at the cake, before uttering, "who made it?" Oof. Talk about a mood killer. Yellow eyes grew with a blank expression, as Asher tried to think on if this was some sort of trick question. "Did you make it?"
"Why? Can't you just--"
"Don't avoid my question."
Eyes shifted, as the young man let out a huff, raising to his feet. "I swear it's non-toxic." This only warranted a steely gaze from the girl, until Asher finally mumbled, "okay! Okay. It was from the cafe. I didn't do it! Jeez. It's like you don't trust me just bringing you a cake to be nice!"
Finally, with a satisfactory answer, the girl reached out and took the open box from her brother. "No, I just don't trust your ability to cook." Oof! Shot to the ego!
"Can you at least grade the delivery? Was the kneeling too much? I'm trying to work on what looks best!"
"Mmm. No. If you bring me something tomorrow, maybe I'll give you an opinion, then." Clearly, someone knew the fastest key to free baked goods! Eyes shifted to the brothers, as she lifted the cake. "I do not have enough time to eat all of this myself, and I don't want to bring it back to class with me. You guys want a piece?"

"I dunno. There isn't exactly much semester left," Isaac muttered. Sure, the Digital World often left his days feeling longer than they actually were, but that didn't change it from being mid-fall at the absolute earliest. What kind of parts would there even be this late into the semester? Even the background roles for the latest Christmas plays would have surely been filled up by now. Then again, if he was able to get a role as insignificant as Nutcracker #3 or The Christmas Tree, maybe he'd be able to get his feet wet without risking major embarrassment. After considering the issue for a bit, he shrugged. "But hey, no harm in checking it out at least, right?" he asked. It was only a matter of time before he checked, anyway. Might as well make it relatively soon.
Speaking of embarrassment, "Ellie" was not having a good time right now. "H-he never actually calls me that!" he stuttered, further burying himself into a comfortable hiding spot behind Isaac. He may have usually been resistant to words, but he was already flustered enough today and Asher just kept finding new buttons to push. At this point, it would be a wonder if the neon-blushing boy even had the ability to look Asher in the eye.
Isaac did, at least. He shot Asher another cautionary look. Much like Piper and her elbows, the only person allowed to tease Isaac's little bro was Isaac himself! Thankfully, Piper was already on call with a subject change, prompting Isaac to drop the glare and Elliot to sigh in palpable relief. He mouthed a quick "thank you" to Piper for getting the attention off of him and onto the much more pleasant topic of cake.
Of course, even something like giving your little sister a snack was all theatrics in Asher's world. All eyes were currently on the quartet, with Isaac noticing a few girls shooting envious glares at Piper and surprisingly enough Elliot. Seemed like Asher was talking from experience when he mentioned fan clubs, even if they seemed more aimed at him than at his sister. Briefly, the bros wondered how Piper remained so nonplussed through it all. Surely Asher was even more dramatic and ridiculous at home, right? At the same time, though, living with him probably left Piper completely acclimated to his shenanigans.
She even offered to share her cake with the bros! Elliot's eyes immediately sparked hungrily as he eyed the tiny plates. Sure, this was supposed to have been his lunch break, but he sure as heck didn't mind some sweets! "Yes please!" he chirped, grinning with excitement.
Isaac wasn't as overjoyed, but how could he say no to a face like that? Elliot always got so cheerful when faced with the promise of good food. "Sure thing. Thank you," he said, in part thanking her for the food and in part for saving Elliot from this horrible embarrassment. "Which class are you heading to next?"

Isaac's stares seemed to go right through Asher. Either he didn't care, or he didn't even notice what they could mean! Instead, he flashed a smile at the boys. It was all fun and games, right? Surely, Elliot couldn't be that sensitive to teasing! ...Or, was he? Honestly, the ex-actor had no idea anything about these guys, except their hobbies and names.
Making Asher hold the cake, yet again, the girl took one of the plastic forks from the container, and adjusted the cake pieces to sit properly on their respective plates. Tapping his feet impatiently, the boy looked at the ceiling, and around at the other groups in the hall. Sure, presentations were his thing, but being a table? Not so much.
Luckily, it didn't take long, and the girl offered cake out to the brothers, including the extra forks that were wrapped in plastic to avoid contamination. Once they took it, she would grab her own, and begin poking at her food. "Science," was the quick answer from the girl's mouth, before popping a piece of cake into it. She might have chosen to ramble on it more, but it seemed that dessert took priority over heavy conversation, to her.
And, as to be expected, Asher didn't have an immediate response. The teen, "uhm,"-ed, trying to figure out what his next class was. His sister shot him another 'really' face, while he grinned at her. "I don't know! Sleep class?"
"And, this is why you're still in high school."
The older brother looked mock-offended, as he puffed his cheeks, "no! It's not my fault that homeschooling didn't match up to all the credits required to graduate in Oakland's school system." Or Japan's, for that matter! What, was she trying to make him look dumb?
Either way, Piper peeled her eyes off of her brother, to look to the other two boys. "What about you? What are your next classes?"

With that, the brothers excitedly dug into the cake. Isaac ate slowly and methodically, while Elliot's cake vanished in about three or four surprisingly dainty bites. Soon the younger brother was left smiling placidly, not even a trace of frosting on his mouth. How the heck did he pull that off? It still left Isaac's mind boggled. Nevertheless, he continued eating as he listened to Piper and Asher talk about which classes they had left. Or, rather, which ones Piper had left. Since apparently Asher was prioritizing nap time.
Seriously, Asher. How does he work?
Science sounded like a fun class, at least. It was one of the ones that managed to pique Isaac's interest moreso than the others. This was especially true for the class that Isaac actually had coming up next. "Lucky you," Isaac said, nose wrinkling a little in irritation at what he had coming up. "I'm stuck with math. But at least numbers are the same in both languages, right?" It was kind of embarrassing to admit sometimes, but the bros were still having a little bit of trouble with reading the language. Most of their studying was based on listening and talking, because they thought they were on vacation. Now they've been getting a better handle on it, but out of necessity more than anything else.
"I've got creative writing," Elliot countered, grinning widely. "Sure, I have to type mine while I get the hang of writing the letters, but its really been a lot of fun! And we have so much material to work with, too. Right Isaac."
Oh, god damnit Elliot. "Yeah. He's always telling me new story concepts and ideas I have to sort through. That imagination of his sure is something, right?" Isaac did a great job of keeping his tone neutral, all things considered, when the underlying meaning of his words was "stop screwing things up!"
"So, homeschooled, huh?" Isaac asked once he was done with a good-sized portion of his cake. "What was that like?"

Asher listened to the brothers discuss their classes while his sister continued to eat away at her cake. To him, all the classes were boring! Some people just were not meant for public schools, it seemed. Luckily, he really didn't need a full year's worth of credits to finish school. Otherwise, he might actually have to take his classes seriously!
Raising an eyebrow, he looked between the boys. Normally the creative writing comment would have soared over his head. And it almost had! Until Isaac felt the need to clarify details of it. Sometimes, saying too much on a subject implied that more interesting details were being covered up. With Isaac not coming off as excited about this, it surely wasn't just a passionate ramble of what his brother was doing. Or, maybe he was just talkative like that. It's not like these two could really have anything to hide!
"Material, huh?" There was always one way to try to find out if he was just being overly skeptical! Maybe, at least. "What're your stories about?" For all Asher knew, these "kids" could secretly be drug dealers or something! It was unlikely, but always possible!
With a nod, the older boy then addressed the next question with one of his own. "What's public school like?" Hopefully, it would be obvious that this wasn't a serious question, given they were currently attending a public school. "I don't know. Nice? You can sleep in as long as you want." Judging from a lot of the responses, it was clear that sleep was a huge priority to the young man. "I think the "classes" were actually harder at home, though."
Maybe that was why he found it so acceptable to sleep through all of his classes! Or, he just really didn't care about his grades at all.

Aw, damnit! Isaac thought he had that covered, but it seemed he erred a little too hard on the side of caution. He was too focused on cover-ups to sound genuinely interested in his brother's stories. Which, hey, if that was cause enough for suspicion then it seemed like he was doing a great job at being a supportive brother! "Ah, you know how it is. With all the video games and anime he consumes, it's usually these big, sweeping adventure stories," Isaac said, skillfully springboarding onto an already established trend. Score! "Giant monsters. Flashy fight scenes. Traveling across the land. Power of friendship. That kinda deal." Phew! That was a close one. "He's pretty big on the outdoors. Can't go exploring as far as he used to, but there's still a lot he can inspire himself with."
"Hey! I put a lot of effort into the characters, too," Elliot protested. "Can't just carry a story on the setting alone." Of course, you couldn't carry it on characters like Schmisaac and Schmelliot, or other such placeholder names, either. He still put a little too much into his characters sometimes, even if he had a blast with writing them.
Sleeping as long as he wanted seemed like a great advantage to homeschooling, frankly. Hell, it was enough to make Isaac think on the idea alone. However, judging by the rest of what Asher had to say, it was also a lot of work. Was it really harder than traditional school, especially that here in Japan? Because so far, Japan's schools were way more rigorous than their hometown's was. Asher must've had some really smart people supporting him back at home. Or on his set-home. Regardless, it sounded like he had it made.
"Sounds like a nice change of pace. What do you think of public school so far?" Elliot asked. However, after a few seconds he paused and added another qualifier. "Other than 'it makes me feel sleepy,' of course." Bases were officially covered!

Well, the explanation on the stories seemed a lot less interesting than Asher had been hoping for. So much for drug dealings and being part of a mafia or something! Ah well. "You should let me read some of your stuff sometime," the boy suggested, with a smile. "I'm sure your stories are great! It was hard to take the teen as the reading type, but, hey, if he could read a script, he could read a story, right? Or wrong. Who knew! Maybe he was just being friendly. "I can give you my e-mail to send them to me!" Then, there was a pause, as he made eye contact with a girl that had been standing off to the side for some time. "On paper. If you promise not to give it to other people." That seemed awfully specific!
Just as the teen went to open his mouth, Elliot added the part about sleep, and he snapped it shut again with a groan. Aw. He was just about to say that! Priorities! "It's boring." Well, that wasn't as flamboyant of a response as even Piper expected. In fact, it sounded pretty dull. "Nobody is the right kind of 'fun' for me, in my grade." From this entire lunch, that was surely no surprise. Who else would want to keep up with him? Or, even, be able to?
"I would really rather be home, sleeping. I don't think anything fun ever happens here." Here, in this school, and here, in this town. Nothing exciting seemed to come the boy's way. "The best thing that came of this move was getting a cat," he huffed, looking to the side, "and I'm pretty sure he just wants to murder me in my sleep." To this, Piper scoffed through her piece of cake. "I'm serious! Have you seen his eyes? They look like they're plotting murder! Cats hate me!"
"Maybe she hates you because you call her a Mister." Pssh! that couldn't be it!
Regardless, the older teen looked back to the boys. "Do you two like public school?" Not that they'd ever known anything different, of course!

Both brothers were relieved to see he bought what they were selling. That was way too close of a call for comfort, especially when dealing with someone as unshakable as Asher. If he even caught the slightest wind of the Digital World being a thing that existed, he probably would've never left them alone about it. Hell, he'd probably ambush them at the train station and demand to know where they were going. However, not only was he okay with their explanation, but he also wanted to read Elliot's work. With a few conditions, of course, the main one of which leaving Elliot quite perplexed. "I mean, I don't know why I'd give it to other people without your permission. It's not my e-mail address to give," Elliot said, perplexed at the idea anyone would be so dishonest. "But I could definitely send you some stuff if you wanted."
Isaac wasn't too shocked by Asher's response. When you were as perpetually active as him, what wouldn't sound boring? He seemed like the kind of guy who'd blitz through the Digital World and even end up bored of that! Nevertheless, his comment about people not being the right kind of "fun" was a little strange. Especially paired with his manic personality and weird amounts of secrecy. And his casual approaching of a small, easily misled child like Elliot. It seemed in Asher's attempt at sniffing out secret mafioso drug dealers, Asher was starting to make Isaac suspect he was the secret drug dealer. "And what kind of fun would that be?" he asked, a little bit hesitantly and a little bit protectively.
At least there was a very angry and very misgendered cat also on the case. Although even if Isaac found Asher a little strange, he certainly didn't want him dead. Why would anybody buy a cat if they knew cats hated them, though?
Oh, right. Asher was Asher. Already, that explained everything.
Elliot was first to answer, always an ever-eager nerd. "Oh, it's great!" he said. "Especially now that I'm away from home. I always liked school, but it could get kind of repetitive. Especially History. I think I'm good not hearing anything else about George Washington and Abe Lincoln until I'm in college. So having all this new stuff to learn is really cool. And its also one of the best places for me and my bro to meet people." Not that there were many other good options. Isaac swore if Elliot mentioned garbage cans as one of those options, he'd be dumped right into one.
"I've never been much for it. Elliot's always been the nerd in our family," Isaac admitted, shrugging. " 'Course, there are still things here worth seeing, so I can't just zone out entirely. Maybe once I pick up some clubs it'll be more fun, too."
"What about you, Piper?" Can't leave her out of this conversation!

"Heh," the redhead looked at Elliot's sincere questioning. "You'd be surprised at how people act!" That seemed like a mild enough answer for the emphasis on his personal contact information remaining personal. It wasn't like it would be the first time that someone tried to sell his e-mail or phone number for an extra five dollars in their pocket, either. "I like reading, though! So send me all you've got!" Using his pointer finger, the boy adjusted his glasses to try to make them glare slightly in the school lights. "Glasses mean you should be good at reading, right?" Not... quite.
Isaac's tone seemed less pleasant than the sweet, little brother, though. Tilting his head to look at the now-skeptical boy, Asher shrugged, "the free kind of fun?" That was a blunt answer! For a moment, the teen seemed to tense, but it was gone in an instant. "And, the kind of fun where someone wants to put up with my sense of humor!" Grin returned, as he resumed being entirely 'normal' as far as his standards went. Did he find it funny that nobody wanted to tolerate him? Oh, most definitely. It was hilarious, in all sorts of ways!
Piper didn't pay much attention to the subjects until her name was mentioned. "Hm? Oh. I've always gone to public school; I don't know anything different." Maybe that wasn't the exact answer that Elliot had been looking for, but she didn't think about the fact that it seemed a little strange for one sibling to attend school in a classroom and the other in a house. Oh well. She still had cake to be nibbling at! "I'm mostly in it for after school things. Don't have a favorite or least favorite class."
"Still perfect test scores?"
Now, a glare was shot to the boy, while the girl paused on eating her food yet again. "I got a 99 out of 100 on my last test, and now I have to miss softball to make it up. You tell me." Oof. Talk about a perfectionist! Who took the make-up test on something that they had already aced?!
Still, the redhead looked away, grumbling, "better than mine!"

Well, technically, glasses did make you much more capable of reading the words on the page in front of you. So by definition, yes, glasses made you good at reading. That said, that probably wasn't what Asher meant to imply. Nevertheless, a more comfortable Elliot smiled warmly at him. "I'll send you the newest thing I'm working on, promise," he said. "And I'm not gonna let any grabby, nosy people get your e-mail address from me." Somewhere, a few of Asher's fangirls were probably glaring angrily at Elliot for that kind of comment.
Isaac, too, was a bit more placated by Asher's response. It made sense, after all, that someone as dynamic as Asher needed a special kind of person to keep up with him. And actually keep up with him, not do the groveling at his feet that his fangirls probably did. That said, the way the otherwise-easygoing teen tensed up a bit didn't quite escape Isaac's notice. It was certainly an odd situation, but for now Isaac seemed content to give Asher the benefit of the doubt. Besides, he was a big screen child star. It must've been a lot harder to meaningfully connect with people in that sort of scenario. Maybe Isaac was being a bit too hard on him. "Yeah. I get you. I gotta admit, sometimes its a bit hard for me to find the right crowds too," he said. It wasn't entirely true, but not entirely untrue either.
Meanwhile, Piper had her eyes on the goal. What she lacked in Elliot's dorky earnestness and Isaac's more laid back view, she made up for in pure, undeniable results. How the heck she managed to juggle such perfectionism while also being part of a billion clubs, the bros were highly unsure. In particular Elliot, who had dipped from a straight-A superstar to a mix of B+ and A- grades, looked hugely impressed by Piper's ability to keep fighting for her scores. "What? But that's so good!" Elliot protested, in shock of her tossing her free time and beloved activities aside of a single grade point. Did that even make a dent in her average? "Like, I wish I was still able to pull those kinds of grades here. The work's been way harder than it was back at home."

Making puppy-eyes at his sister, the boy made a writing motion. With a huff, Piper shifted her hands around to both hold the remains of her cake, and pull a notepad out of her bag. "I'm not digging out a pen for you, though."
This seemed fine with Asher, as he whipped a pen out of his pocket, and began scrawling his email address on the page. After writing it, he folded the paper carefully, before holding it out for the younger boy. "As long as it's a promise!" Not that promises really held much value. But, hey, he wouldn't discredit the kid!
With a hum, the redhead nodded. "I'm picky about my friend group, anyway." That either would come as a large surprise, or absolutely none. After all, he was pretty friendly! Maybe a little too friendly, actually. Oh well! It was all irrelevant. Either Asher was interested in being friends with people and they weren't taking the bait, or he was actively ignoring them. Which, was also plausible, considering the constant sleeping in class.
"It's not good enough," Piper was quick to point out, despite hearing another groan from her brother. "I like to stay productive." Clearly! Who had enough time for grades and a million clubs? Clearly not her brother! Or, these other two brothers. Finally almost finishing her cake, the girl shrugged, "I study at a cafe some nights. I can help you out, if you ever want to show up."
Now, Asher was gagging slightly, making exaggerated shock sounds. "You're encouraging the fan club!" And, there was the elbow to the stomach again. With a squeak, and far more laughter, the teen lowered his head and curled his upper body to try to shield the damaged area. Maybe it was just a reaction, to laugh at pain.
"Why do I let you spend time with me on lunch?" Oh, yeah. Because he brought her cake. That made sense.
"The same reason I let you elbow me full-force in the stomach?" This was followed by the girl shooting a glare, and Asher immediately cringing in over-exaggerated fashion, still partially curled from his prior attack. "Joking! Joking! You, uh, totally catch me by surprise every time!"
