For a while now, Isaac had the same sort of daily routine. Wake up, go to school, get through the day, and then head to the Digital World with his little bro. It was a nice, stable schedule. Okay, so not really stable. There was no possible way the Digital World could ever have a stable day passing. But it was a routine Isaac was familiar with, and one that it took a lot for him to want to change.
That was why it still felt weird to Isaac when, rather than heading to the Digital World with Elliot after school, he dropped him off at home. As much as he trusted his little brother, he didn't want him walking all the way back home on his own. With his bad leg and scrawny size, if someone wanted to hurt him it would've been all too easy. Unfortunately, this had the side effect of forcing Isaac to endure a thousand questions about his recent whereabouts.
"Come on! You gotta tell me where you're going all this time," Elliot protested, standing on the curb of the street and refusing to move any further. "I know its not the drama club, because then you'd be bragging way more about it. Instead, you're just kinda sleepy these days."
"I'm telling you, bro. It's a secret," Isaac said. "Maybe I'll tell you after Christmas. But first I've got a lot of important stuff to do, okay?" Elliot didn't look entirely covninced. "Look, I promise. I'm not doing anything weird or dangerous. I've just been hard at work on secret projects. You wouldn't want me ruining your surprises, would you?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Elliot said. "So does this mean I'm getting really kickass Christmas presents this year?"
Isaac gave his brother a gentle pat on the shoulder. "Heh. We'll see about that, won't we?" he asked, waving farewell as he started making his way from Greater Shibuya to North Shibuya. From there he looked back and forth, as if making sure he wasn't tailed, before slipping into the maid and butler cafe he had recently started work at.
A quick change and a shot of coffee, and he was ready to get this evening shift started. But who would his first customer end up being?

”Please?” Kisara poked, barely managing to restrain her giggling. ”It’ll be fun! And come on you must be at least a little curious yourself. Right?” The Spirit’s host rolled her eyes at Kisara’s antics.
“This one’s been up since you started hanging around, why’re you only now interested in it? Besides, my brothers would never let me live it down if they ever found out. And I know you’re such a blabber mouth…” Alicia whispered back, humming. “In fact why are you interested at all?”
”Um… Well… I kind of, sort of never got a chance to check one out way back when I was actually alive… so I was kind of hoping I could convince you so I could get another chance.” the ice maiden admitted. Sol snorted and rolled his eyes now, but otherwise didn’t contribute to the current conversation.
“Wait…” Alicia began, pausing. “Does that mean you made some post-mortem bucket list? Does such a thing even work? And that’s why you’re pestering me so much?”
”… Maybe? But I promise not to be too obnoxious about it. So… pretty please? And nobody will recognize you if you shapeshift with Mercurialdramon. I mean your brothers know how old you are. If someone that looks like you did six years ago or so came in, it would just be extremely eerie coincidence!” She was putting far too much thought into this.
”Seriously? You’re giving her that idea? And before you ask Alicia, yes it’s possible. No idea why you would con-.“ Sol stopped himself, seeing how Alicia started looking curiously at the café while biting her lower lip lightly. It was tempting now that she thought of it, and after a mundane day slaving away over vehicle after vehicle the thought was appealing. ”Oh jeez, here we go…”
And with that the spirit user ducked away while no one was looking. A quick chant and molding of amorphous metal later and the now faux-teen girl stepped back out, adjusting her ‘hair’ and ‘clothes’. Her features were much softer now, as back then she hadn’t toned up her body with the rigorous work of her day job. She was also lacking her signature scar. Finally, Alicia brushed a few bangs of faux-hair over one eye as an attempt to create a different appearance for herself.
“Kisara, I’ll have you know, pretty much every other woman in all of reality hates my non-existent guts right now. I know girls who’d kill to be able to get even a fraction of this kind of age defiance.” She mused, her voice bumped up a bit higher to reflect her more youthful look, before she slipped into the café. Just in time for Isaac’s shift to start.

Isaac's number had come up. This customer was a young teenage girl, just about Isaac's age. She seemed like a first-time customer, so she didn't have a favorite guy or girl to call upon yet. Those were often some of the best for training new employees. The customer didn't have an expectation of the business yet, and the employee couldn't fall back on a laundry list of their favorite things. It was a symbiotic combo, easing both of those involved into their time at the cafe. With those factors in mind, selecting Isaac was a natural choice. He picked up the establishment's menu and wiping towels, adjusted his hair and bow tie, and made his way over to the table.
Upon approaching, it was time for the customary greeting. He bowed to the table of one, suavely saying "Welcome home, princess~!" That was they were supposed to say, at least, because mistress made things sound way too weird. "How may I serve you today?" See! That would sound super weird if he called her mistress first!
However, upon noticing the girl, his smile faltered for a quick second. She seemed familiar. Way, way too familiar. But he couldn't put his finger on it. Or, rather, he could put his finger on it, but refused to believe it. Alicia had never mentioned a younger sister before, and yet her spitting image was sitting right before him. Nevertheless, even as recognition sparked in his eyes, he refused to let his smile fall for more than that second. First rule of the cafe was to never drop character. Second rule of the cafe was to leave real life at the door. Even with his burning curiosity, his hands were tied as to the identity of this mysterious clone.
Of course, that didn't mean he couldn't sleuth things out with the tactical application of some leading questions. As he gently placed the menu and wiping towels on Tiny Alicia's table, asked "I hope your day has been going well today, yes?" Depending on how much of a talker she was, this might have been a good way of getting a first look as to who this person was. Or, at least, seeing if she sounded anything like Alicia and her family.

Someone or something had to be looking down at them and laughing… Never mind the fact that Kisara was doing that as well in her head. Meanwhile Sol was actually left speechless for once. Alicia herself was similarly caught off guard, but she was able to keep her cool enough to not completely break the charade. Which was a good thing, nobody wanted to try and explain why a supposedly young girl suddenly turned into a horror movie’s draconic cousin. Could it be possible that Kisara planned this? No, even for her it was unlikely.
“A-Ah, thank you, sir…” she answered back shyly. While she certainly sounded somewhat like her normal self, the personality she was putting on was a far cry from her standard. Honestly, she wasn’t sure what possessed her to act like this. Perhaps the feeling of being the mysteriously familiar stranger to her surrogate brother got the better of her and she was making use of it. Of course, she had every intention of explaining herself when it was all said and done. But for the moment? This was too interesting an opportunity to pass up.
“It’s been a long day, but… I can’t really complain too much.” She mused to herself as an answer to the question as she gave one last glance at the menu. “Um… I’m sorry, I’m not too sure what exactly I should get. Do you have any recommendations, Mister…?” She asked Isaac, tucking her head down and raising her shoulders a bit in a soft little pout at her indecisiveness. Okay, Kisara must be rubbing off on her far too much. That’s only thing she can think of to explain what she was doing to poor Isaac!
… It was amusing as heck though…

The voice sounded just like a member of Alicia's family. Hell, the voice sounded just like Alicia. But the tone of the voice, along with her age and appearance, were too completely different. Poor Isaac had no idea what was going on today. It obviously couldn't be Alicia, because it just plain couldn't be. At the same time, how could it not be Alicia? It was so obvious! His brain was currently shifting through a ton of prospective scenarios. Curse from any angry wizard? Digimon in a holosuit, impersonating her? The world's most awkward glitch in the matrix? Whatever the case, this was really gonna stick in Isaac's craw for a while.
But he had a job to do, damnit! And that meant pushing past confusion to treat the customer right. "Aw, a long day? I'm so sorry to hear that, princess," he said, the suave tone in his voice completely failing to match his confusion inside. "Is there anything you might need a hand with? If so, you'd need only say the word and I'll do anything I can to serve~." He could only hope that said word wouldn't be tailor made to mess with him in every fashion imaginable. This day was off to a confusing enough start without Not Alicia asking for a massage or anything like that.
Thankfully, it seemed right now her cup of tea was menu suggestions. Part of Isaac was relieved. Part of him also saw this as a golden opportunity. If he could compare her responses to Alicia's usual tastes, he could get a hint as to whether it was actually her or just some walking improbability. From their interactions, he had a feeling she was the mild sort of person. Not into anything sickly sweet, nor into an overly forceful flavor. Especially with how stressful and tiring both the Digital World and human world could get on most days. He stooped down to look at the menu, flipping it over to the specials section and politely gesturing it towards what looked to be a pancake stuffed with bean paste and chestnuts.
"Perhaps we might interest you in this Dorayaki, princess? It has a mildly sweet flavor to it, with a consistency equal parts firm and soft. And its so warm, too! The kind of food you can just savor, nothing too strong or too fleeting. It would be the perfect snack for a princess in need of relaxation, no?" Well, he'd certainly been working on his sales pitches!

Alicia smiled softly to Isaac, tilting her head and giggling softly as the poor confused boy continued with his work. Ever the steady one it seemed, he wasn’t letting what had to be a huge amount of confusion trip him up in the slightest. Ironic given his spirit’s element, but Alicia figured that Chaos wouldn’t be Chaos if you could accurately predict it.
”C’mon, throw him off the trail. The confusion he’s hiding is oh so hilarious to watch.” Kisara nudged, smirking. Yes, she was enjoying every second of this scenario at Isaac’s expense. Alicia had to wonder if that made them both terrible people… But she made up her mind nonetheless.
“Ah, that sounds wonderful, Is-sir.” She slipped a bit, intentionally admittedly, starting to call the boy by name before catching herself instead of Kisara’s idea. That she could hear the ice maiden cackling in her head let her know she didn’t mind the change of plans. “Yes, I think I’ll have that.” The faux-teen confirmed. Besides, she couldn’t go against something that hit all the right notes with her.
”You’re both so cruel. I’m going to manifest and break the illusion for the poor boy.” Sol muttered. And then he yelped as Kisara presumably… did something? Alicia couldn’t quite tell what was going on, only that she knew she had to suppress a wince of pain at whatever the ice maiden was doing.
”Noooo! Let us have our fun Sol! Don’t be such a spoil sport!”

Isaac heard that. And if it wasn't for the fact that he needed to keep his game face on at all times, that probably would've gotten his eye twitching a little. Seriously? This was happening now? At this point, something had to be intentionally messing with him. By now he'd be willing to believe that Alicia had discovered the fountain of youth in the Digital World or something and decided to celebrate by catching him off-guard at work. No, it didn't matter how she knew he worked there. Life seemed to enjoy picking the most convenient ways of toying with him, even if the explanations never made as much sense as they should.
Nevertheless, it was time to get to work. He bowed to Maybe Alicia at her request, thankful for the chance to get away and clear his head. "As you wish," he said. "It shall be prepared for you to perfection." With that he walked off, head held high and pace perfectly measured out. The walk to the kitchen was mostly uneventful, and plagued by Isaac's thoughts basically running in circles. It wasn't Alicia, and yet it had to be Alicia, but how could it even be Alicia? Whatever. The pastry smelled delicious. Isaac could always count on the chefs hear to whip up something amazing to make him forget his worries for a second. Now he'd just have to make it to Alicia's table and serve it to her specifications. Often that included options like sugar or whipped cream, syrup and chocolate sauce for drawing designs-.
Suddenly, Isaac had an idea.
He brought over his plate, making sure to carefully balance it. If there was one advantage about annoyingly tight pants, it was that the constrained movement made it far less likely that he would spill anything. The pastry itself sat in the center, still nice and warm, with small bottles of the various flavorings forming an orderly ring around the plate. It was a little tricky to carry still, but his stance was as firm as his resolve right now. Nothing was going to break his stride until he made it back to the table. Upon reaching Maybe Alicia he placed the plate before her with a flourish, clasping his hands and tilting his head slightly. "Does everything look to your liking, princess? And how would you like me to flavor it for you?"
Maid cafes were famed for the elaborate decorations they placed on their desserts. Whether Alicia preferred the nutty tastes of syrup or the sweet tastes of chocolate, he knew there was no way she'd pass up a chance to observe that craftsmanship. And if it wasn't Alicia, well, they obviously would have come for the maid cafe experience anyway. If as predicted she gave Isaac the go-ahead to bring out the syrup or chocolate, he would start drizzling quite a familiar pattern onto her pastry of choice.
A dragon.

”Hehehe, that got him really riled up. I wish I’d suggested doing that instead!” Kisara quipped and laughed aloud. Alicia herself couldn’t help but giggle as well while Isaac was away. This really was too much fun. But certainly, he had to be catching on by now, though? Or maybe he’d figured it out already and just could not call her on her antics. Oh well, she’d find out soon enough.
”I don’t know any of you people anymore…” Sol spat and glanced away, huffing. He couldn’t understand why Alicia was tormenting Isaac like this. It was needlessly mean. Was it a one-time opportunity? Sure. Did that mean they should abuse it? Hardly. At least that was his take on it.
“Oh hush, I’ll make sure to apologize when the cat’s out of the bag.” Alicia shot back with a chuckle. Speak of the devil, there was the boy now. With a happy sigh, she smiled as she caught scent of the dorayaki. “Mmm, I have a taste for chocolate today, please.” Leaning back, she let Isaac handle decorating the treat, before quirking an eyebrow at the pattern Isaac was making.
On one hand, she had to admire that Isaac could get the uncooperative chocolate to work like that. On the other, she also knew Isaac had figured it out and was subtly calling her out on her actual identity. So she had a choice in mind. Ignore it and keep playing around with him? Or drop the act and hint at her secret?
She figured he deserved to know at this point, so she brushed the bangs over her eye back, fixing it back to the way it normally was. At the same time, she dropped the coloring on her hair for a few seconds, giving the boy a view of her faux-hair turning from red to Mercurialdramon’s shiny and silvery look. Just long enough for him to see it before anyone else noticed. Then it went back to her ‘normal’ red.
“Sorry Isaac. Blame Kisara, she put me up to this.” Alicia admitted to him before taking a bite of her meal.

The hair falling into place was one thing. After all, Isaac was already 99% convinced this was Alicia. It was the hair flashing a metallic grey that really sold what was going on here. Slowly, Isaac's confusion gave way to a strange mix of relief and irritation. On one hand, it was good knowing that Alicia hadn't been kidnapped, cursed, possessed, or de-aged. On the other hand, was she seriously still going around in Digimon form? He thought Elliot was getting on his case for using Devidramon too much, but at least he wasn't using his form in the middle of the freaking real world! At this point, he was starting to become worried Alicia would stick this way.
This raised so many further questions, too. Like why Alicia even wanted to come into a cafe primarily staffed by teens to get doted on. Couldn't she have picked one more meant for adult clientele? Although that probably also meant things came off a bit more lewdly. If there was one good thing about working in a place with teens for teens, its that things never really got too suggestive. Made Isaac feel way less worried about working at the place, to be perfectly honest.
Okay, Kisara put her up to it. That made a lot more sense. Although how Kisara knew he was working her today, Isaac had no idea.
He would have loved to directly address Alicia on this matter, but there were still the watchful eyes and ears of other employees and customers. He had to keep real life and the job separate, or other customers would start asking why they didn't get the same special treatment and rights to information. IF he was going to talk to Alicia he'd have to do it in a sufficiently subtle fashion. "Ah, has she? Well, regardless, I'll make sure your stay here is truly one to remember!" he chirped, as if talking about an awkward bet between two friends rather than a magical spirit enjoying her fair share of hijinks.
"Now, you said you were having a long day, yes? I would be more than happy to be an ear for your troubles, if you'd like," he offered, looking around the room as if hinting that further communication would have to be a bit more private. Fortunately, suspicious-yet-consensual whispering happened all of the time around here! If Alicia wanted to talk about what the hell was going through her head, now was the optimal time.

Alicia hummed to herself a bit, taking another bite of the meal before shifting a little closer to Isaac. She caught the implications that she needed to keep things all hush hush if she wanted to keep chatting with Isaac so she wanted to be a bit closer to keep her voice down as much as she could.
“Well, yes. Thankfully it was a long day of the mundane sort: tuning vehicles, dealing with clients, taking engine blocks apart, putting them back together. You know, normal human things. The only super natural part being Kisara coming around suddenly and pestering me to go ‘do something silly and unusual’ while I was working. So, knowing she wasn’t going to lay off until I at least put a token effort in, I went strolling around. Everything seemed like it would be all fine and dandy. But hold on tight, this is going to be a doozy.”
The faux-teen giggled to herself, shaking her head. “Of course, then she spoke up with what she actually wanted to do. Which was visit one of these places. Don’t ask me why, I didn’t want to touch that reason with a ten-foot pole, thank you. At least she wasn’t trying to shove me into one where things would get much more… awkward. Still it’s ridiculous. I’m basically being talked into checking off a darn bucket list for her. How does that even work anyways? She’s a spirit, she’s already kicked her bucket!”
Sighing, Alicia caught her breath a bit. Not that she needed to as Mercurialdramon but she was pretending to still be human. “Then there is the problem of my actual age. Which Kisara solved by mentioning just how far the rules of this form can be bent. I would’ve never thought this was possible really but… eh…? I think she’s rubbing off on me too much, I really should’ve fought on the idea more… Oh God does that make me an upcoming Princess of Mischief? Aah! I’m being corrupted and I just now noticed!” Well, Isaac was already calling her ‘Princess’ as part of his job, so that’s something.
Kisara meanwhile was having a blast, laughing a loud in Alicia’s head. ”Yessss! Heed the wily whims of this devious Queen! Ahahahaha!” Thankfully for the Steel Spirit Wielder, Sol took up the task of smacking Kisara upside the head to snap her out of one of her fits. ”Ow.”
Alicia rolled her eyes at the exchange. “Although I think Kisara was as much caught off guard as I was. She was stunned into silence for a bit before cackling madly. And then we conspired a bit to mess with you since it was a golden opportunity. Sorry about that by the way…”
She offered a nervous half-smile alongside the apology, laughing a bit as well. “At least I was able to act decently? I was trying to play the kind of personality that was most distant to my normal self which I figured was quiet and somewhat shy.”

So after all of this time and buildup, it turned out the reason Alicia had for popping in and messing with him boiled down to "because I could." Okay, sure, it had a healthy side dose of Kisara complaining at her about it, but it wasn't like Alicia hadn't ignored her requests before. It seemed pretty clear that the two of them were both in on the plan from moment one, even if Alicia needed a little bit of convincing first. Frankly, Isaac felt like he would've been way more annoyed by this if he wasn't so relieved that Alicia was okay. As is, he was just kind of mildly peeved.
Still, she wasn't a half bad actor. She made Isaac confused enough to pause, if only because a very Alicia-like person was doing actions that were very much not Alicia-like in character. And she did a surprisingly good job at adding a more youthful, soft quality to her voice. He nodded and smiled as she brought up that little fact, mostly keeping quiet to give the impression that he was listening to a client's concerns. Besides, the jury was still out on how he was going to respond to that apology, because frankly Isaac wasn't even sure how he wanted to go about that.
Finally, he came to a decision. "It's fine," he whispered back. "But please, promise me one thing. Mai doesn't hear a word of this. Long story short, I'm working my butt off to get her Christmas presents, and I do not want that cat out of the bag yet." He hoped Alicia would be okay with keeping mum. Really, it was the least he could do when she messed around with him since getting here!
He then moved back away from Alicia, snapping back into character. "Why, yes, I'm sure you're a marvelous actress!" he said, tying what he said back into their last "conversational point." "It would be my pleasure to see some of your performances sometime, princess.
Is there anything else you would like me to do for you, by the way? A drink? Or some games, perhaps?"

The faux-teen smiled softly as Isaac decided to let her off the hook. And for naught but the promise of something she already planned on doing. Honestly, she found it too adorable to break the secret to Maia. After all Isaac had to be putting up with… quite a lot of trouble to do this. This was hardly the easiest job on the market. So helping keep the secret shut tight was hardly a price to pay.
“I promise. My lips are sealed. Though… Nobody I know will ever let me live it down if they find out I went to one of these places. Mainly because they’ll assume the obvious idea of going to one that’s for… you know. Any chance you could keep that little secret for me in turn?” Certainly, that wasn’t too much to ask, was it? She didn’t think so.
”D’awww. That’s adorable. We’ve got a pair of secret keepers here.” Kisara quipped. Alicia just rolled her eyes, huffing a bit. Which Sol took as a que to swat the ice maiden again. And presumably keep an eye on her. ”Ow. No fair… I wasn’t going to ruin the surprise! This is too cute to muck with.”
Well hopefully that meant she didn’t have to worry about Kisara… well, being Kisara. But Isaac had pulled back and went back to his character as a butler for the café so Alicia decided to follow suit, brushing her hair back over her eye as it was when she came in. Did she have to go back to her own ‘character’? Not really, but now that Isaac knew it was her she figured it could be something of a little fun on both sides this time.
That done, she giggled adorably, glancing away. “P-Please, it’s not that good. But… thank you.” Then she perked a bit at the second part of the offer. Games? She might not know much about these kinds of establishments but that couldn’t be a standard feature, right? Genuinely curious now, she smiled and answered back, “A game does sound interesting… I wonder what it will be.”
Well it would certainly be a unique experience. And she assumed he had just started recently so… bonus of being able to practice with someone that won’t judge you unfairly?

Isaac nodded as Alicia made her promise, smiling. Her secret would be safe with him, just as his would be with her. Now without the pressure of a thousand misdirections hanging over either of their heads, they could start really having some fun with today. Predictably enough, as Isaac broke away from the whisper, Alicia had slipped right back into her character as well. What started as a prank was now a group production, and Isaac had the feeling that this was going to be a nice break in between dealing with legit customers.
"Ah, interested in games, Princess?" Isaac asked, his eyes lightning up a bit. "We have plenty of video and board games here that I am sure would catch your fancy. If you have any favorites, it would be my pleasure to check the back room to see if we have them in store," he explained. "But before I get too ahead of myself, what would a pastry be without a drink? While you think about games, how about we play another to settle that matter? Its a simple game, you see, but if you beat me you get the grand prize of one free coffee." That was one pulled out of Asher's handbook, and Isaac figured that with the topic of games breached now was a great time to bring it up.
He reached into his pocket, pulling out three cards in grandiose fashion. One was a club, one was a heart, and one was a diamond. He showed them to Alicia as he explained the game. "All you'd need to do is pick a card, and see if I can guess which one you've chosen. If I am wrong, then we shall celebrate your triumph with a free coffee for you! What do you say? Would you be interested in giving it a try?" he asked.
If she indicated in the affirmative he would give the cards a shuffle. It wasn't too easy to make shuffling look glamorous when working with a grand total of three cards, but he still did his best at keeping it fast paced enough to look interesting. He then fanned the cards out so that she could select one of her choice, jokingly covering his eyes with his other hand to assure her that he wasn't peaking.

Alicia smiled softly as she listened to Isaac. Video, board, and card games? Goodness they really tricked things out it seems. Though one could assume it played a good role in how popular the place was. Of course, she hadn’t thought of a drink so it was a good thing that the young boy reminded her of the idea.
“Ah, I see…” she mused giggling and nodding to him. “Yes, let’s play.” And now he brought out the cards. Even before he explained the game it had seemed simple enough, so she waited for him to hold the three out to her after shuffling them around. And it was indeed as simple as she appeared. Normally one for quick decisions, she decided to hesitate a bit this time and fake thinking it over. “Hmm… This one.” She finally ‘decided’, plucking one from his hand and looking at it. Hmm, it certainly wasn’t a clichéd pick, that was for sure.
”That one huh? A pity this game seems to ignore its counterpart suit. I wonder why it’s only three instead of four.” Sol mused, before shrugging. It was such a minor thing and Isaac probably didn’t know why either. A minor mystery for the ages.
The commentary done now, Alicia giggled to herself again and tilted her head at Isaac. Would he guess the right one? Either way she was certainly enjoying the evening spent here. And maybe she could help him save up in time for the holidays… It was certainly adorable that he was doing all this for Maia’s sake.

Isaac, too, was in mock contemplation, putting a knuckle under his chin in an exaggerated thinker's pose. Knowing what he knew about Alicia, he took her for a Club kind of girl. She was a hard worker, seemed very happy to be associated with metal, and was a very practical-minded person. Something floaty like hearts wouldn't have suited her at all, and while it could've been diamonds she didn't seem to give wealth and shiny stuff much thought either. Nevertheless, Isaac knew he had her scouted out. He also knew Alicia was his friend, and she'd probably like a nice coffee to go with her pastry and video games. Slowly he lowered his knuckle, a grin spreading across his face.
"The heart, I believe? Although I am sure the one on the card is but one of the many you've stolen," he said, deliberately picking his least expected option.
"Ah, but before you tell me your result, have you had any luck thinking of preferences for your drinks and games? When I'm off to make your prize, I'd love to set you up a throne truly worthy of a princess." If this was Alicia-Alicia he was dealing with he probably would have been playing this a lot more straightforward, but for giggly Alicia Jr.? The more dramatic, the better! It was interesting seeing how the dynamics between the two shifted when they were suddenly both portraying characters.
Nevertheless, that would be for the future. For now, both of their fates hinged on what card would be held within Alicia's grasp.
