"Seems like none of us expected what was going on, huh," Isaac remarked. It was way more enjoyable in retrospect than it was initially! Still, if she was offering a hand of approval, that probably meant it was a good enough job. He shook her hand, grinning. "Well, pleasure doing business with you. 'Cause we put on one heck of a show out there. Bet the rest of the staff's gonna be talking about today for, well, at least a few more hours." Gossip traveled fast but burned out quickly at the maid cafe, and other than a gold star of a performance review it likely wouldn't have any lasting effects.
"Speaking of, how'd you get so good at that?" Isaac asked, confused. "You were so unlike yourself, I was almost convinced you had a sister I never met. Or, heck, I dunno, an experimental cloning program." The latter was obviously a joke, obviously. But it was also a testament to how good of a disguise Alicia managed to pull off. " 'Course, from the sounds of things, you probably get a lot of practice. I mean, I sure as heck never considered taking my spirits into a cafe with me before."
It was interesting how both of them were wearing masks in the restaurant, and how despite taking on completely different roles they charged into it with so much confidence. Isaac would've never dreamed of having such a solid performance, but with a good co-star like this he had done far beyond his wildest dreams. Meanwhile, Alicia didn't even need to act, and still had a blast with it! Compared to the usual nerves Isaac felt when making these performances usually, it was an astounding difference.
"You know," he started, a bit of curiosity in his voice. "I bet if I could be that confident all the time, I wouldn't do half bad on stage. Maybe I've got what it takes after all, huh . . ."

The Steel Spirit Wielder chuckled and smirked. Seemed she’d impressed her little brother with the act she put on! “Honestly? I’m not all that sure of how I managed it myself. I mainly went in with the thought of ‘I don’t want to be recognized easily, how do I normally act?’ and winged it from there. Anything to differentiate the disguise from the original me was considered and tried.”
Alicia shrugged at that, as that was really all there was too it for her half. “And then it kind of just stuck even when you figured out it was me. I feel like I had just hit a kind of metaphorical gold mine for the combination of appearance, act, and tone of voice. Being able to have acute control of my expression certainly helped though!” That was a thing, Mercurialdramon basically only moved how Alicia wanted it to, no more and no less.
“I thought I told you I only had two older brothers, though?” Alicia asked as the thought occurred to her, before chuckling. “You think I’d keep something as important as a kid sister that is practically a mini-me running around a secret?” She went and bopped the Wielder of Chaos on the head at that, humming.
Ah right, drama club. Hadn’t Elliot and Isaac talked about that some time earlier? Regardless, she smiled. “Well, you certainly seem like you’ve got the talent for it. I would’ve never guessed you hadn’t been there very long. Though I wonder how Elliot’s taking this. I assume you haven’t told him what you’ve been doing yet?”

She didn't even plan a bit of this, and yet she still came out of it a natural. Even considering the fact that a good deal of it was at his expense, Isaac had to respect that. "Man, you'd be a natural performer," he found himself musing. "I've been practicing that for over a week, and you just swooped in and matched me each step of the way. Takes a lot of charisma, and a lot of confidence." Both of which were things Isaac wished he could build up more in himself. Even if it took a little bit, he had to keep trying, damnit!
At mention of her sibling count, Isaac grinned a little. "I mean, that's where the almost came from," he countered. "Especially since you looked a bit too conveniently like yourself. But the performance sold it so completely that the facts didn't even matter, if that makes any sense." Wasn't that basically what a show was, anyway? Getting yourself so immersed that you can believe in another world, at least enough to enjoy yourself? In movies, plays, books, even video games, that always seemed like the end goal.
"Oh, he knows," Isaac responded, as Alicia asked about Elliot. "I'm serious. Secrets don't last, like, an hour in this house without Elliot finding out about them. Found me on my first day. Ended up being my third customer. And let me tell you, he does not hold back with the goofy requests. Sure, it was to help me get used to the odd things customers might ask for, but that's still just plain merciless of him."
Oh! Speaking of, Alicia wanted to know about less-than-satisfactory customers, right? "And my second ever customer criticized every little detail, spilled her drink all over herself, and blamed me for it. All because she had a grudge against my shift manager. And good news, she's a regular. So if you were looking to hear some horror stories, her. Underlined, bolded, and in size 16 font," he added. "Best part is, apparently she's far from the worst customer to be there, too. Isn't that crazy?"

Alicia legitimately blushed a bit at the compliment, chuckling. “Well maybe I guess if being a chef goes bust at some point I have a back-up plan I can dabble in?” That was more a joke then anything, she didn’t particularly want to go into that field. Though having an alternative was always nice. “Hope I didn’t upset you though, coming in like that as if acting was no big deal. Even if you weren’t practicing long, I know some people from before who would be less than happy.”
Not that she expected Isaac to be one of those people. In fact, she was sure even if he was someone to be upset like that, he’d be too impressed to feel it. “Thanks for all the compliments, but I think I would’ve had a harder time pulling anything like that off without such a close partner bouncing things off one another. Hehe.”
Although the mood had to be broken by the fact that Elliot seemed to be able to break any kind of secrecy between the two brothers. “Ah… huh… Well I’ll ask you to please try and not mention me but… I suppose there’s a million other possibilities where hearing about this would be pretty bad for me. Hope Elliot doesn’t dig at me too much for it then…” Seemed she resigned herself to being had by the younger sibling already before Isaac even left to meet back up with him! How’s that for lack of faith.
“Wait…” Alicia began as Isaac recounted the tale of the Customer From Hell. “Seriously? You caught all that flak? And because she was angry at someone else with you just being in the crossfire? What in blazes…” She shook her head. “I swear, if I’m visiting at the time and she starts giving you problems again, I’m breaking character to sort her out. Something has to be fundamentally wrong with that girl’s head if she’s like that.”
… Well that could be interesting to hear or a down right terror to behold. At least it wouldn’t be the café’s fault since Alicia wasn’t affiliated with them. Still it would be quite the day if that ever happened, given the Steel Spirit Wielder was predisposed to calm and cold fury rather than screaming hot rage.

"Why would I be upset?" Isaac asked. "You gave me a really fun day. I'm not gonna waste that being hung up on what defines a real actor or not." He made sure to fancy up his voice at the last part, trilling his rs and trying to sound as haughty as possible. There was nothing that got Isaac more irritated than when others were smug, exclusionary, or using their own talents to look down upon others instead of lifting them up. He wasn't gonna let himself become one of those people, that's for sure.
"Lets just agree we brought out the best in each other, then," Isaac concluded. That was basically the truth already whenever it came to their Digital World adventures. It might as well extend to stuff like this as well. "I think if I ever end up needing to practice for something, I know just who to turn to," he mused. Between first Asher and now Alicia, Isaac had quite a few other people with flairs for the dramatic to turn to. And Alicia was way less likely of the two to start getting too up close and personal with him.
Well, sometimes.
Speaking of that, there was one secret Isaac had no plans about sharing with Elliot. "I'll do my best to try and keep him from asking too many questions," he said. "He can be so annoying about it sometimes, but he's harmless. Get the feeling he wouldn't let either of us hear the end of it if he found out, though, so I'm in no rush to let him know either." He could already envision the teasing. When he wanted to be, Elliot could be quite merciless.
Just like Alicia. "Hey, no turning into a raging dragon when I'm on the clock," Isaac warned. However, after a few seconds he found himself laughing a little to himself. "Literally or metaphorically. Elliot let me know about you getting fed up in the mountains, and wow. I dodged a bullet not being there for that one." Elliot's account of Alicia's rant was almost as chilling as being there in person. "Still, means a lot you're keeping an eye out for me. Can't think of anyone I'd rather have watching my back."

Alicia smirked at that, giggling to herself. “It was a fun day for me too. I really enjoyed it, knowing I didn’t have to worry about anything for a while was quite a relief. And I’m pretty sure abusing Digimon power to age down a bit helped a lot in that regard too.” She really needed to clamp down on her usage though… this couldn’t be healthy for her mentally or physically. Oh well.
“Well, I’m always happy to help where I can. And hey it’d be one of the more normal things anyways. The Digital World is a crazy, crazy place.” Did he really think so highly of her impromptu acting? It didn’t really feel like all that much trouble if she were honest. Not that she’d question him to his face about it. Somethings just go smoother if you roll with them and Alicia felt this was one of those things.
Offering a quick “Thanks” as summation of the topic of keeping that particular moment a secret, she smiled as Isaac then took a stab at her for her terrifying rants. The redhead laughed as well as she also realized Isaac’s wording could be taken literally as well. “Oh? I would’ve loved to be around to here that story recounted. Poor Elliot looked a bit shell shocked once I finally cut loose. And being Mercurialdramon at the time…” She trailed off as both of them knew how much of a frightening multiplier a draconic form could have on one’s displays of rage. “Besides! I’d pull her outside and in a more secluded area first before letting her have it! Someone needs to knock her down a few pegs from the sound of it.” Giggling to herself, Alicia then hummed and tilted her head.
“So… humor me please? How did that tale go down from Elliot’s recollection?” She asked curiously, smiling.

"Oh, good," Isaac said, voice a tiny bit sarcastic. "At least you're acknowledging its a major abuse of power." This Mercurialdramon stuff was getting a little worrying, to say the least. Especially if Alicia planned to exploit it in order to become a regular customer at a maid cafe. Like, how did she even think of this kind of stuff? He briefly peered over Alicia's shoulders, as if looking for some kind of shoulder devil and shoulder angel to communicate with. At least in Alicia's case, these would be fairly obvious. "Sol, please, help me out here," he said. "Could you tell us if this is a bad idea? Like, majorly? 'Cause it cannot be healthy sticking that way."
But that'd have to wait for a bit. Alicia wanted story time, and that meant she'd get story time. "Okay, okay. But seriously, please do not threaten the customers. If they traced that back to me, I'd be in major trouble," Isaac warned. "It means a lot to know you're looking out for me. Just please, cool heads.
Now, what Elliot said was that you were a radio tower. I mean, makes sense. Explains how you managed to call the Trailmon back. And apparently someone was questioning your methods, and she'd been giving you the cold shoulder the whole day already. So you just scooped her up off the ground, glaring her right in the eyes and speaking in this ice-cold voice. And you just started systematically describing everything your form could do, your tone never changing. Hell, you never even raised your voice. It was like this ice-cold dagger, just sliding into everyone's ears. He was kind of impressed, but also kind of really terrified. He's just glad that you're watching our backs instead of trying to take us down, 'cause he's pretty sure he'd just faint if you gave him that treatment."
He wasn't sure if Alicia would find that a point of pride or not. But then again, considering she was trying to intimidate, that was probably along the lines of the answer she wanted to hear.

Isaac may have been looking for a definite ‘yes or no’ answer from the dragon spirit, but alas he was going to be left wanting… Still, Sol appeared beside Alicia so that he could answer him directly. ”… I really want to claim that this was a horrible idea and should never been done again but… I’ve seen no evidence to support the claim nor do I have any feasible theory that can provide circumstantial evidence thereof. I still hold that transforming so much like this is probably not in one’s best interest but… I don’t have enough ground to stand on for the sake of definitively putting my foot down on the issue. I will be watching very closely though.”
”Hahaha! See Alicia? We’ve got the go ahead to really push the limits!” Kisara noted as she popped up as well, laughing. Alicia in turn just bopped the ice maiden on the head. The sudden hit sent the poor woman reeling a bit and cradling the injury with a quiet whimper.
“That wasn’t an okay to go crazy, just a cautionary ‘be careful’….” Alicia corrected her with a sigh. Of course, she was also interested in the little story time thing. “Ice-Cold Dagger huh? Well I suppose I was trying to be as intimidating as possible. I’m just sorry I had to drag everyone else into the mess and show them my bad side in the process… I don’t like doing things like that but when enough is enough…” She sighed to herself and shook her head, smiling. “Though at least I got my point across as well as I possibly could.”

"Wait, seriously?" Isaac asked. No evidence. No. That was impossible. There had to have at least been some evidence that this kind of thing left people gone mad. Heck, wasn't there that Elye guy, from the hunt he, Elliot, and Asher had been on? Then again, giving up his human self had gone fine for him. Hell, he was able to seamlessly adjust to a new world, date a cute witch, and only started going nuts when he took a MadLeomon of all things as his beast spirit. With something more rational like Mercurialdramon being Alicia's choice, there probably wouldn't be nearly as much trouble. Still, it just couldn't be right staying out of your natural form for that long. He couldn't put his finger on how, but he knew it!
That said, Kisara wasn't helping. He knew the shoulder devil would appear eventually! "Still, be careful, okay?" Isaac asked. "If you're gonna do anything dumb, at least have me beta test it for you. I'm used to doing stupid Digital World stuff all the time, so I can take it." That was some nice self-depreciation there, but he took it with a laugh. "And just don't drag Elliot into it, 'cause he's way worse at rolling with the punches than I am. I mean, could you imagine him in my shoes today?"
He shrugged at Alicia's sigh. "Hey. You probably said stuff that needed to be said, anyway. Don't sweat it," he assured her. "I doubt I'd be much more patient about it in your shoes. Then again, I had to console a dying train long enough to use its radio. So yeah." Isaac tried to sound casual about the situation in order to forget about how horrifying it was. It wasn't really working well. "Speaking of, thank god none of you guys had to see any of that. I swear, that Trailmon still shoots me dirty looks whenever I pass it in the terminal. You know what it's like having the public transportation system hold a grudge against you? It's awful!"

”Well, nothing pertaining to Alicia’s forms herself or a duplicable effect all Spirit Users might suffer from. I mean, if she starts staying in Digimon form for more than 24 hours straight things like malnutrition for the human form might start cropping up but there’s no concrete evidence on that. Most don’t stay in Digimon for-“ Sol elaborated, before realizing something and cutting himself off. ”Actually! Alicia, you just ate while in Mercurialdramon form, do you feel hungry at all?” Well that was sudden.
“Huh?” Alicia asked dumbly, caught off guard by the sudden question. “Um…” Now that she thought about it. “I… wasn’t actually all that hungry beforehand…?” She squeaked a bit in surprise as the dragon suddenly fell over in a style straight out of anime. Complete with the comical crashing noise. “Sol… you okay…?” she asked concerned, poking the twitching dragon.
”As fine as wine in the summer time… I need a drink one of these days…” the dragon spirit grumbled in response before composing himself, standing up, and brushing the dust off. ”And you’re not to be a guinea pig for these things Isaac. Stop that line of thought. That is the thought process a good friend of mine had before…” And he trailed off again, looking down.
”Sol… it’s okay…” Kisara suddenly spoke up, somber as she hugged the dragon. Alicia felt fairly justified in stepping away and giving the two spirits a moment to themselves, moving on. What the heck was that all about?
“… You think you get dirty looks, Isaac?” Alicia quipped, looking to the younger Spirit Wielder. “I don’t think I’ve gone a day without one of them flipping out over that time we fought that fake professor on one of the Trailmon’s heads. And it’s all of them, not just the one we… inconvenienced that day. So yes I do know what its like.”

Were spirit users even nourished if they ate in Digimon form? Considering if a spirit user got hurt enough their injuries carried over between forms, maybe if they ate too much they'd still have a little stomachache when they turned back human. After all, from what Isaac understood so far, changing Digimon forms was all data compression, right? Its why they weren't always stomping around as a giant Badassasaurus Rex. Them reverting to human was like when a Digimon got through a really tough fight and degenerated into a baby, right? But then again, they were human! They didn't have any data to compress. Did they? Thinking about this was all starting to hurt Isaac's head. And amidst all the questioning, Isaac found himself considering one last thing. "Wait, can you even drink?" he asked.
But then Sol unearthed quite the painful memory, and it became clear he and Kisara would need some alone time. Thankfully, the topics Alicia had were a little bit less dejecting. "Seriously? They're still mad about that?" Isaac asked, shocked. "Wow. Good thing none of them recognize me and my bro. Probably for the best that we basically handled all of that in Digimon form, huh? But jeez, that has got to suck. Especially since we've got no choice but to listen to them whenever we need to get to the Digital World." Riding in a Trailmon meant having a front row seat to their rambles. Usually for Isaac, this just meant exceptionally nosy trains prying into everyone's personal lives. For Alicia? Wow, that must have been awful.
"Y'know, at the very least, I think that guy's gonna be out of our hair now," Isaac said, smiling a bit. After all, now that he was "Hero of the Undercity," he didn't need to scrounge around for spirits like a total pest. Sure, he helped the group out, but man was he obnoxious about it. "Bump into any other strange people in the Digital World so far, or does he take the cake there?"

The question about the spirit’s ability to drink for the sake of getting hammered would understandably go unanswered. As it was, the two decided to retreat back into the confines of Alicia’s mind for now. So now it was back to the two humans talking and taking a quick detour down memory lane. “Yeah, they really are. I think I’m the only one who catches any flak for it anymore because it was over my spirit that the fight even occurred.” She shrugged at that.
“Oh? What, did he get set up with everything he wanted without actually irritating anyone?” It was a miracle to think the false professor could ever be peaceful by any means. He seemed like a bottomless gullet for ego stroking. “Either way, I’ll be happy if I never see hide or hair of him ever again.” She shrugged to herself and smiled. “Good riddance I say.”
Blinking, Alicia tilted her head, barely hearing some muttering. “Ah, about that ‘can Sol even drink’ question? It seems like the answer right now is ‘No, but he’s racking his head for anything that can make it possible because, quote, to hell with this day.’ I think he was just fed up with mine and Kisara’s antics over the course of the day and the latest incident was the last straw.”

"Got it on your first try," Isaac said, smirking a little. "Guy took the credit for saving that city full of filth Digimon from their own king's megalomania. He'll probably get bored of it eventually, but with how much of a glory hog he is I bet their adoration's gonna sustain him for a while." Come to think of that, how was that arrangement going? Guard Captain Geremon seemed hilariously unconvinced by the little ruse King Raremon and Ulysses had set up after that fight went down. Something told Isaac the next few We Love The King Days would end up being a lot less loving. At the same time, a fawning crowd like the Undercity could easily sustain Ulysses' ego for a long, long time.
It sounded like Sol's frustration was getting to Alicia, too. The girl almost seemed to be picking up on his muttering and complaining. "Damn. That bad, huh?" he asked, blinking a little. "Sounds like you guys could all use a break. If a ten thousand year old spirit's calling it quits, then you've gotta be exhausted." It didn't help that poor Alicia seemed to have been front-and-center for all of Sol's griping. Being around an old person complaining was bad enough as is. When said old person was literally inescapable, that just made it all the more difficult! "Think he's gonna need to sleep this one off? If that's even possible, that is."
Man, spirits were hard to understand. Isaac really needed to ask about how they worked at some point.

Alicia chuckled softly, smiling. “Well, if that keeps him occupied for a while.” She sighed, “But why this ‘Undercity’ of filth Digimon? No offense to them but I wouldn’t want anything from any of them, even gratitude… yeesh…” the redhead shivered when she thought about it. Seriously, who would ever want to be around that kind of Digimon for longer than absolutely necessary?
“Yeah, that bad. Though I think that bad memory he stumbled over was the straw that broke the dragon’s back as it were.” Oh, haha Alicia, very funny switching the animal in the quote to fit who you were talking about. “Not sure what he’s going to do now, or if he’ll even figure out how to get a good drink in his system.”
Finally, the Spirit User sighed to herself before smirking at Isaac. “Shall we part ways for the day? It’s been a long one after all and I know I’m ready to call it a night. And I’m sorry for messing with you again today…”

"I mean, some of 'em were okay," Isaac said, shrugging. "But yeah, I would not want to be down there for too long. Only so many bad song covers by Gekkomon that I can take before I go mad, am I right?" Half of their national anthem was the ingredients list on a box of Lucky Charms! How did that even work? "Whatever floats his boat though, right? Better he enjoys it with them than gets shaken out of it and annoys the heck out of us again," he added, shrugging. The last thing he wanted was to be on the receiving end of another one of Ulysses' brilliant "schemes."
At mention of the bad memory, Isaac frowned a little. "Yeah. Tell him I'm sorry about that one," he muttered, looking down at his feet. "I just wanted to help, and maybe make sure someone other than you was diving head-first into all of this chaos for once. I didn't mean to remind him of anything dark from his past." Seriously, somebody needed to help keep her from diving off the deep end! Even with Sol figuring it was maybe-safe, that maybe alone should've been a warning sign for more caution. "Hopefully some rest'll do him good. Tomorrow's a new day, right?"
After all, today seemed to be dwindling away, with Alicia deciding it was these two went their separate ways. He gave her a quick hug when she continued beating herself up over how they met, though. "Seriously, it isn't a problem," he repeated. "You had fun. I had fun. Who cared if things got a little out of hand for a bit? Anyway, rest well, okay? I'll catch ya later." With that he left to hurry home. With how long he was dawdling after shift, Elliot was definitely going to get on his case!
