Admittedly, none of Tetsu's parents too worried about their little boy. He's always a brave eleven years old that probably far stronger than any kids of his age back in their small village. Even his brother said that he got a nasty punch and kick when it comes down to it. Thanks to that, they let him go as he please. Well... as he please, yeah... The little boy walked here without anyone guiding him... well, not nobody. He was going to meet his brother here and they dropped him. However, being rather curious (albeit still very wary), he decided to walk around here...
Normally, when he was in the countryside... he got about 5000 yen each week for his allowance. That's not a big amount, but still noticeable for a kid of his age. However here...
"...Five Yukichi-san," he muttered. Yukichi-san is the man printed in 10000 yen bankroll. This means, it's ten time of that amount, per week, which is equal to about five hundred onigiris. With this much of a money, he probably can buy a lot of item he never think of before. That sort of money, on wallet of a little kid... it's definitely too much. However, even so...
...Even if it's a bit, HE WANT TO BUY POTTED PLANTS!
OK, where's the bookstore... ah, found!
...Little did he know that it's something that not a 11 years old kid should come to... that's right, it's a doujinshi store. The... unsavory kind.

Shikon was walking around, enjoying the weather and the air. By the kamis, did she had always longed for being outside and just be. Now that she could, she wanted to enjoy every second of it.
She probably would have, if only she hadn't spotted something that made her tick. A kid, a child, going in the direction rather happily of what seemed to be a... 18+ place. If only because of the big sticker in the window that said so and the name of the shop... Yeah...
Starting to run a bit, she started calling out to him, blushing a bit because it was embarrassing calling out a kid you didn't know randomly. But, at the same time... She didn't want to think of what could happen to the kid if they entered the place. She herself didn't really know what it could contain, only things that weren't appropriate for him.
'' Young man! Wait up! Please! Young man, wait up! ''
Running closer, she was waving an arm in the air to be spotted easily. She really was out of shape, simply for the fact that she knew she would run out of breath when arrived. Even then, Shikon was starting to feel the effects of her body not used to be asked so much.
'' Please! W-wait! ''
Starting to slow down in front of the store, she waited a bit, hoping to not be too late. It would after all be bad for the child, and for her, mainly her ego that she couldn't stop a child to enter a store. Not to be able to make them wait the time necessery to catch up...
Taking then a deep breath, she then looked up.

Tetsu was thiiiis close on reaching the handle of the store's door. Due to the clerk being rather busy apparently they didn't saw him who's about to enter. However... there was something that stopped him, mainly because someone shouted frantically. Even in Japan, that's going to caught a lot of attention. Eh? There was someone that shouting although she sounds like a young lady? Tetsu turned around. Young man? Who? He looks around and find no one but him and pointed at himself, wondering if this oneesan is calling him.
...The person definitely lacks any sort of physical training to be running here at such short distance and ran out of breath. Not sure if her running form is what you can call a 'strange' running form, but... some girl in his hometown said that if you have funny running form, most likely you'll be slow.
"...Me?" he asked at the girl. "Did ya have a business with me, nee-chan?" his Japanese thick with Hokkaido accent. She looks slightly foreigner... a hafu er, I mean, half?
"More than dat, are ya really OK, nee-chan? Ya looked like ya's out of breath..."

Blinking a bit at him, mostly because of the informality that he displayed with her and his lack of tack than anything else, like is accent. It still didn't stop her from smiling at him. Up close, Shikon could really she that he was CUTE! Smiling a bit more, she replied :
'' Oh, yes I'm alright, I'm just really not used to run... - I probably should train a bit on that actually. - So, otouto, I wanted to warn you about a little something and offer my help. ''
She had let herself be a bit informal in this case, if only because he wasn't holding onto it on his end, but also that he may be too cute to resist calling such. She now understood why sometime others would react silly ways with younger people, like her uncle Hayato. Coughing a bit, she continued, cursing inside that her weakness had to show already this early in this stage :
'' You see, the shop you just wanted to enter, well... '' Shikon pointed at the big sticker in the window. '' I believe it isn't exactly the place you would be allowed to go in right now. ''
Taking a two seconds to stretch, she then turned her entire attention on him. She was after all keeping an eye on the surrounding up this point, if only because of the shop.
'' Tell me, otouto, where did you want to go? I could probably lead you there and follow along, I don't have much to do today. My name is Shikon, it is a pleasure to met you! ''
Success! She had saved the innocence of a young boy! + 10 exp., level up in - Wait, wrong subject. Concentrating her thought on the situation and not the silliness in her head, she was waiting for an answer. Sure, she was still a bit nervous, shifting slightly on a foot and another, but she was opimist. Keep the mask while having fun and maybe you could make some kind of friend! That was the planning of the day. With a possibility of herself buying a thing or two depending on where he wanted to go.
Now, back to the story!

He tilted his head at the comment. "Well, I'm glad dat ya good ova' dere, Nee-chan, but why are ya stoppin' me?" he asked, wondering what could it be possibly. Could it be that he's doing something bad? She said she's going to warn him afterall. Did Tokyo people have their own way in crossing even when he's using the zebra cross? He listened intently to her words, and then looked at the sticker.
"...Huh? R18? Wat's dat?" he squinted his eyes and looked at smaller printed word. "...Uh... uhhh... n-not... allowed... fo'... uh... unda'... eighteen.... years... old..." he practically have to spell each one of it. Dammit, he really ain't that good at the kanji lesson, but he never thought that here in the city people uses complex kanjis like this! "...Huh? Not allowed fo' people unda eighteen years old? Bummer. What kind o' shop is this anyway? Dat sounds really dumb ta stop folk from entering jus' by their age!"
Hmmm, Tetsu crossed his arms in front of his chest while thinking. His parents did said to not follow suspicious people, but this lady is really nice... Plus he's also lost with all this people walking around... Oh well... He guess that cannot be helped! Plus this Nee-chan is really lousy in running. He could outrun her anyway if she's a bad person!
"I'm lookin' fo' a bookstore dat sells book about plants!" he replied. "And name's Tetsu! Nice ta met'cha!" he raised a hand in greeting. Tetsu ain't the type of boy that bow afterall. "Me grandma seems like some flowa', see... Uh... wat was it called... H-hydrangea m-macrophylla?"
...Well, he guess city people ain't so bad afterall.

Mmmmh... He sure was adorable, this little guy. Him being offended by the store was funny and all, but she didn't intended to answer why the store had to have such a warning. It wasn't her job after all to do so. She was to be a guide, not a potential sexual educator! Especially for a... 11 years old kid or something like that? At that point, it didn't matter, she still wouldn't do it!
... Not even for uncle Hayato fabulous brownies! No way! That was there that she drew the line!
Musing a bit while looking around, she knew where the bookstore was, she just wasn't sure if they had books about flowers... But a bookstore is a bookstore, so, it should. Or something close enough to do the job. Snapping her fingers, having come to a conclusion, she turned back to Tetsu.
'' I know where the bookstore is and I think they may have the kind of books you are looking for. Worst case scenario, I'm pretty sure a florist will have books about flowers, maybe you could even ask a clerk question about it! Sound alright with you, otouto? First the bookstore then the florist? ''
Smiling and claspsing her hands together, she hoped for a yes. If nothing else, she was already slightly turning in the direction of the bookstore.
'' Can I say that I'm impressed that you remember the scientific name of a flower? I may remember a lot, but not such a kind of specificity as that. I can tell you on the top of my head some words equivalents in others languages, but not such precise information! ''
No, she wasn't really trying to earn brownies points with him... brownies... brownies... Focus Shikon!
She was just genuinely complimenting him, for a fact that she found impressive. It wasn't often that you could find that kind of dedication. Remembering such a trivial information about their grandmother... It was indeed impressive. That and she wished she had also received praise back then when she tried to impress her mother...
Shikon, no! Bad Shikon, bad! Keep the mask on! Focus! There is a kid and you are in a public place! Smile and be happy! And she did, smile and seemed happy, after all, she was going on an adventure with Tetsu!

This Nee-chan not going to answer him why is that? Bummer. Adults and their secrets! It's really annoying, is he really that small of a guy that he can't know what's wrong? Little did the little guy know, actually knowledge about bee and flower should be known by his classmates a white ago... Even in Hokkaido. Then again, this kid is the one who earnestly watches video about farming in his not-working-on-the-field time and tries to practice it later. Such an earnest kid got no time for "kya kya ufufufufu" sort of thing in his mind... then again, that's probably because he's such a late grower.
"Hmmm, so ya gonna take me to da bookstore first an' if nothin' there, we're goin' to da florist? Sounds good!"
Well, he's not the one that gonna reject such logical offer anyway. He was surprised that he was praised, but quickly enter his blushy blush but trying to cover it with smug look mode. "O-Oh, r-really?" from his tone, it's obvious that he's happy and actually trying to play it cool. However, with such wide grin plastered on his face as he put his arms on his waist, it looks like a childish attempt at most. "W-well, thank ya! D-dat's nothing at all! I-I mean, me pops challenged me to name all the crops in our field in scientific name! S-so of course I did! If not I can't be a farmer! Gahahaha!"
Such a poor imitation of a proud laughing, but as it came from a kid, it just looks funny if anything.
"...Mmmm, Nee-chan, are ya... foreigner or somethin'? Ya looks prettier than girls aroun' here..."

Shikon had found really funny his almost outraged expression as she didn’t answer the question not really asked by Tetsu. It was also worth the pain free experience of not having doing The Talk with an eleven years old boy, one that she had just met even more. His cuteness wouldn’t have changed that fact.
Satisfied with the turnout of the event, she smiled happily. Shikon was glad to be able to make a good action, mask or not. If only it helped her level up… Only to hide her smile with her hand, trying to restrain a mixture of a chuckle with an ‘’awww’’ like sound. How the children did was able to be so cute almost no matter what? There was his blush that he tried to confound with his smug look, and that grin with his posture, only to finish with that laughter? He was just plain adorable!
Turning around, making sure that he then followed, she took the familiar path to the bookstore. She had already gone there a couple of times, so she wasn’t lost even if it was only recently she had gotten there. It also helped that they weren’t really that far to the begin with and –
Huh?
Did… did he just…
The sudden blush that came over her was unstoppable. The suddenness and the realization had made her stop in her track, unable to react anymore. Not even hiding her face in her hands was helping her. She just couldn’t have understood what he had said correctly… Yeah, she must have misheard him!
Lowering her hands a bit to peek at Tetsu, she barely managed to let out an embarrassed:
‘’ W-w-w-what? ’’

Huh, is he just thinking too much about it or this Nee-chan is somehow looking at him with lukewarm gaze? Feeling a bit annoyed, he pouted and try to look as mean as he could, but of course, rather than looking scary, more than anything he looks cute. Oh well, he'll forgive her this once! Without saying it out loud, he nodded while trying to look arrogantly in "it can't be helped!" moment.
....Well, it can't be helped that length of a kid's legs and length of a teen's leg is different, that's for sure. He lagged behind, but stamina wise, he just think this like walking although he's power walking. Bless all that hard work in the farm, along with riding horse, taking care of the cows and other sort of thing! ...But remembering that lot of the livestock died that day made his heart ache. He also lost his beloved little lamb, although he was so close to it too... His face looks a bit clouded, but he immediately shook his head and slaps his cheeks lightly to cheer himself back up.
...Well, until he bumped on Shikon, not expecting her to stop... He massaged his smarting nose... That was not how it was supposed to go! Wait, she's blushing!?
"...Eh?"
Not even sure why she's blushing, he tilted his head. Did she misheard his words?
"I said ya looks pretty, are ya foreigner or sumthin'?"
He thought it was supposed to be really straightforward!

No, no she didn’t misheard him, nor she didn’t felt him smacking a bit into her. Trying to diffuse the emotions that she was feeling, she started to walk again, a bit slower this time thought. It was kind of a rude question she guessed to ask, but with the compliment for it… She wasn’t really sure what to do about it…
‘’ I… er… Thank you? And, no, not really… Mother is from here, I was born in another country and only got back here recently… I guess… It counts as half foreigner? ‘’
Blushing a bit again, she turned her head to look at Tetsu to say the following, more than a bit embarrassed by her earlier reaction. She was supposed to keep calm and all that! Not react like… well, a teenager girl with her first crush awkward or something! Mature Shikon, act mature and innocent and… it kind of fit the bill, her reaction, but it unstabilize her, so it was a big no no.
‘’ I was just… surprised that you would ask me that and the reason you… thought I was foreigner, I didn’t mean to react so strongly, I apologize. ‘’
Looking around a bit, she saw they were almost to the first destination. Which was a good thing, it meant that soon the quest would be completed and she would get experiences points and –
Ahem. Correction: it meant that soon Tetsu would get his books and maybe even plants for his grandmother. While she wanted to ask if it was for a special occasion he wanted to know about the flower… Not knowing if it was a sensitive subject, she guessed she would learn more when he would speak about it. If he ever did.
‘’ We are almost there, Tetsu. Did you want to also pick up others things than for you grandma? Maybe some books about herbs? If you grow crops, having herbs to go with could be an idea, especially if you keep some of the crops to cook for yourself. ‘’

"Oooh a half, I see, I see..." Tetsu nodded earnestly... a good kid, probably? He's just rather rude at times, but he means well. He just think that the blush probably means that she's flattered, so he's actually quite happy that he made her flattered. Little did he know all thing that crossed in the girl's mind. Gee, had he know and understand, that's gonna be so, so awkward in many way.
"...Well, no offense meant, but ya jus' looks... well, not really Japanese? Ya got me? I mean, ya looks a bit... uh... well... how to say... Japanese girls are pretty 'an all, but... ya looks... slightly different... like... uh... I dunno! Nee-chan just looks really pretty, dat's all! Like an actress!"
Hmmm... things for his grandma? He starts thinking for a while and decided. "...Mmm, my grandma likes pudding..." everytime she came to Hokkaido, alone at it, he remembered his grandma always bought him a lot of pudding. These puddings are somehow sealed in small glass bottle. It's quite interesting how they could be used for that... That grandma.. he was surprised to learn that she passed away when he was seven. He was down with quite the fever too... He cried a lot back then... To think that it's been four years since then...
"...Herbs is nice too. Grandma... not sure if she like it or not, but we got a lot in Hokkaido, so... Maybe... Ma can use 'em to cook..."
...Well, to Shikon who's probably not used to Shintoism, she probably had no idea that these puddings are going to be used as offering.

Shikon blushed again because of that cutie. Seriously, it should be illegal to be that rude and cute at the same time, only to come back and compliment the person! Tetsu could probably get away with a lot of things with that attitude, but it didn’t mean she wanted it used against her!
Compared to an actress, pishh… What next, she is going to be compared to a superhero?
Smiling at her silliness, she realised that well… He was getting lost in thoughts. Nudging him a bit with her arm, she tried to regain his attention.
‘’Hey, are you alright Tetsu? You didn’t really answer me. I was asking if you wanted anything else. Getting puddings for you Grandma sound a good idea, but I was wondering what you wanted to get for yourself. Herbs can be nice, but do you know what would be even nicer, otouto?’’
Smiling conspiratively, she leaned a bit to him and whispered: ‘’ Ice cream! Wanna get some? I pay!’’
Oh yeah, + 5 in kindness and + 20 with the yumminess of ice cream. It was kinda warm, the idea of pudding got her hungry but she thought it would be rude to get extra pudding to eat, especially when the rest would be offering. Ice cream, however, was totally free of such problem, right? Ice cream was always good anyways, so yay! FOOD!

As he said this, he took out his wallet and showed the content. Looks like he's comfortable enough around Shikon, so much that he dropped his guard and showed him her wallet, which at this point is loaded with 10 thousand yen bills. There's probably about twenty there, which means it's easily to two hundred thousand yen area. This kid is surprisingly rich.
"But ice cream sounds nice! Dibs on triple chocolate!"
Looks like her plan of cheering him up did a good one. The boy start humming some random, yet slightly off tune song about ice cream flavors... Looks like he's going to eat a lot of ice creams afterall.
"...Ah!"
He suddenly remembered something. "It's no good! No good that Nee-chan is the one payin'! I'm a man!" he puffed his chest, but continued "Granma said ta' pay for da' girl if you're a nice man! I'm a man so I'll pay!"
