Izanami felt like she was going to die.
Then again, this is the toll for going to a family renuion. While it was good to see her relatives once more, the physical and mental exhaustion she was forced to endure was terrible... plus having had no sleep the night before further worsened the exhaustion she was currently plagued by.
"You are back." A petite voice would mumble quietly, the girl glancing underneath her bed. Sighing slightly, Izanami bent down and pulled a pet cage out. The strange gem-like blob creature that called itself a "Digimon" was laying in the center of it, it staring directly at her in a deadpan manner. "Welcome back human. Are you ready to talk?"
Izanami for a moment stretched her back, she struggling to keep herself awake. She honestly was too tired from the trip to even really want to speak to the creature right now. She and Izanagi had locked it up initially to both keep it out of sight, but also so it didn't try and get away. They WERE planning to originally interrogate it more about what it was and what it was doing here, but exhaustion was making that a bit difficult. "Look, I'm sorry. I can't talk right now... I am so tired." She'd apologize to the Digimon, causing it to scowl.
"I've been waiting for you to get back all day to continue our talk, yet you refuse to speak? How disappointing." It'd remark, a hint of annoyance in it's voice.
Izanami groaned some as she laid down on the ground, trying her best not to get too angry at the creature. She had to play calm... but it was so difficult keeping herself awake right now that she honestly couldn't hold out much longer. "Ugh, and I thought I was a pushy bitch... Just give me a little bit okay?" She'd say, pushing the Digimon's cage back underneath her bed. She'd worry about questions in a little bit...
Two hours spent power napping later, the girl woke back up with slightly renewed vigor. It was now about midnight, so everyone else was likely asleep. Perfect time she guessed to try and get this little interrogation over with. She was tempted to try and wake up her brother, but decided against it. The effort needed trying to get him out of bed and back into his wheelchair just was not worth the effort. Getting up and pulling out the cage, she sat down on her carpet floor, her legs crossed. "Rise and shine. I'm ready."
The Digimon had been in the middle of sleeping itself, it being stirred awake. While it was quick to at least get up on it's nubby little feet, it was clear that it too had been enjoying a little rest. "Very well. Ask away human. The sooner that we get this over with, the better."
The girl nodded, though she did have some pressing matters she wanted to ask. Back at the reunion, she saw one of her cousins carrying with him the same type of weird device she found last night on her computer desk. For some reason, both of theirs began wailing when they got near eachother. While Izanami was not normally much of a skeptic, it was so weird and out of place that she almost was hoping that this little creature would have an answer for that. If not, she'd stop worrying about it. "Hey, by chance did you see someone come in during the middle of the night last night?"
The creature shook its head in denial, not sure as to where the pony-tailed girl in her pajama was going at right now. "No. I was in a deep sleep. Why do you ask human?"
Being one who preferred showing instead of telling, the girl got up and dug into her laundry; pulling out the kimono she wore earlier today. Digging into it, she pulled out the strange red Tamagotchi-like device and showed it to the creature. "I just like found this thing last night and saw one of my couins have one too. It struck out as odd to me, so I wanted to know if you knew anything." She'd speak for a moment, being startled suddenly by the device's screen lighting up brightly.
The girl's eyes widened as she turned the device around, it's screen brightly flashing. She while had no idea what it was doing, it was the first actual bit of interaction she got out of it ALL day beyond the little scene with her and Tetsu's device. "Oh hey, it's actually working!" She'd say somewhat happily, at least relieved to see something happening.
The Digimon's face suddenly adopted a look of what could be described as both horror and awe as it saw the device Izanami was holding. "Partners." It would quietly mutter to itself.
Izanami noticed it's sudden change of tone, for a moment looking somewhat bewildered. Did it recognize this actually? Was she finally getting somewhere with this thing? "Uh... what?"
Unbeknownst to Izanami, her computer on her desk suddenly flashed on; it's screen suddenly being filled with 0s and 1s. For the first time today, the Digimon had a look of sheer panic as it banged itself on the cage bars. The creature looked like it was currently in a life or death situation, showcasing a terrifying amount of emotion it has not exhibited since Izanami first met it. "Let me out of this! Quickly!"
"W-wait, what?" Izanami would for a moment ask in confusion, only then turning her head to see her computer's monitor going apeshit. Thankfully her attention was drawn back to the Digimon as it yelled at her again.
"Please! Open the cage!"
All thought in Izanami's head suddenly seemed to cease as what felt like time itself began to slow down around her. Before she could even think about it, she bent down and undid the latch to the pet cage; opening the door.
And then, everything went dark for the girl.
At that point, the Digital World had claimed itself a new visitor.
