It came from the depths...
...of the lake in the park. Oh. Not quite so bad then. Two soccer ball-sized eggs, one pale blue and one pale green, had suddenly risen to the surface of the water and steadily drifted towards the shore. Thankfully the park was relatively quiet on this lovely evening, so there weren't too many people around to spot the giganteggs as they suddenly crack down the middle and release their contents!
An odd little pale green creature with a long 'tail' that curves up and around like that of a scorpion, tipped with a leaf rather than a stinger. It has an odd little pacifier-styled thing in its mouth...or perhaps in place of its mouth. It turns to its counterpart and makes an odd gurgling sound. Oh good.
Said counterpart is...a blue blob. A blue blob with big black eyes and a look of curiosity on its tiny face as it looks around at the giant world around it. It hops across the few feet that keep it apart from its 'brother' and proceeds to headbutt said brother. The green one immediately retaliates in an impressive display of...gently patting the blue one with its leaf.
Hey, wait...aren't they missing something? Or someone? Ooh. The two make the decision at the same time. They need to go find whoever or whatever they're missing! Onwards! And so the two little blobs begin to quickly bounce away from their shattered eggs, towards the exit of the park and into the big city. Oh boy.
Meanwhile, two blocks away, fifteen year old identical twins are rushing up and down various streets, following indicator arrows on the screens of little devices that had literally just shown up out of nowhere in their bags. Maybe it was a prank being played on them by someone? Weird prank, though. Oh! It could be a new lazy way for muggers to get people! But surely it costs more to get GPS-enabled tiny cellphones than you'd make by mugging two fifteen year olds.
Oh! The arrow's moving! Wait, is that good, or bad? The twins exchange a look, having a feeling they know exactly which one of those it is. It already feels like this is gonna be a loooooooooooong day. Evening. Whatever.
