The back streets of Udagawa weren't exactly the safest place to be, especially at this time of night. The sun had long since set behind the modern high rise steel and glass skyline of Shibuya, the air taking on a chill as a full moon began to rise over the streets.
However, a lone figure was walking alone through the dilapidated crumbling streets, occasionally glancing around to check her surroundings. Not many people around, if any. It had seemed that most had simply turned in for the night however, these backstreets offered a shortcut through and back to the portal. She put her hood up, once again glancing around to keep situational awareness.
No threats detected, area was clear, however, as she reached into her pocket to pull out a cigarette, her HUD lit up with several warnings, overlaying them in front of her vision.
WARNING. HOLOSUIT PRIMARY EMITTER FAILURE. SECONDARY EMITTER ENGAGING.
WARNING. SECONDARY EMITTER FAILURE. CALCULATING... SUITABLE COVER LOCATED. SPECTRE OPTICAL CAMOUFLAGE ONLINE.
The writing quickly vanished, the map in the top right corner of her vision highlighting a route in bright orange and a location marker, leading to a long abandoned building. The holosuit flickered once again, briefly revealing what was fairly obviously a digimon, before she just... vanished, disappearing in a subtle wave of amber light.
Then... silence. Nothing moved for at least thirty seconds, the street once again appearing virtually empty, until the door of the aforementioned long abandoned building swung open, its old rusted locks and rotten boards coming free in one swift movement, clattering on the ground, the door swinging forlornly open, before shutting again, near silently.

Cat was on the way through Udagawa Back Streets, almost every minute she turned her head occasionally her whole body. "Why are you acting so paranoid?" Nyao whispered, "Because these streets are dangerous, one wrong look and you get mugged... or worse. Nyao was about to say something but Cat sussed her. There was a shadow of a person, a person Cat hadn't seen before. This was odd, most normal people doesn't dare to visit these streets. Only thugs and sheep but this person was neither. Cat hid within a street to observe what turned out to be a woman, she wasn't a pleasure girl either, her clothes were too modest. Then something happen for a second Cat thought she saw a machine rather than a woman. Cat turned to Nyao, based on her chocked expression this wasn't just her imagination.
Now determined to find out what is going on, Cat kept observing the woman from distance. Then Cat wondered, (whoever she is, she could be dangerous). Cat looked around until she saw a group of girls hanging around near an abandoned building. There were three girls eatch armed with crowbars and baseballs bat, they had long skirts and dust-masked on their mouth each drawn a scary face on. "Nyao, you have to trust me." Cat strutted right in front of them as if she owned the place. The tallest of the girls with an crowbar stopped her "Cat, what are you doing here, loser. Scram before we have to hurt you" Cat pulled out her most confident bragging smile as she stared up to her. "I won't do that if I was you, that woman is a cop!". Cat indicated the woman she was following (Eva). "A cop?! You know cops aren't allowed!" Cat kept on smirking, "Tell that to her" The gang looked at Cat, then at the woman who was a stranger then at each other. Even if Cat was lying, strangers weren't allowed either. They pointed their weapons at Cat to seem threatening "We will, now stay here if you know what is good for you." then all three girls started running after the woman as she entered the abandoned building. They caught up right after the woman (Eva) entered the abandoned house. "Hey! Who are you, we don't like strangers. You better not be a cop!" When Cat was alone she looked at Nyao who was confused, "Katsura, what was that about?" Cat smirked, this time for real. "It's quite simple really; if the woman is weak they will leave with her money. If she is strong but good they will flee with nothing. If she is evil but strong they won't come back at all." "But if they are inside an abandoned building, how do you know who win?" "I..." Cat hadn't really thought that part through, she stood for a moment before coming to a conclusion: "We sneak in, I know another way." Cat walked to the other end of the abandoned building, Cat knew that the backdoor wasn't locked and so she entered in the other end. Cat now stood in what used to be a kitchen back when it was in use.

((Gotcha. ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.))
No response, apart from the building groaning slightly in the wind a small chunk of plaster dropping from the ceiling making them all flinch one of the three cussing under her breath, then once again, an eerie hush fell over the rotting structure.
Empty.
Dark.
Silent.
But despite there seemingly being not a single sound or movement inside the building, the gangers couldn't shake the sense of foreboding washing over them. The feeling that they were they were being watched. Being hunted from the shadows.
They were.
Eva couldn't have asked for a better environment to engage these thugs in. While they stumbled around almost blind in the dark, she had a solid bead on them using the night vision and thermal modes on her cybernetic eyes. Three confirmed threats armed with two crowbars and a baseball bat. She didn't even need the cloak active in here to remain undetected, sticking to the shadows was doing the job just fine.
"Alright, have it your way. Not going to be pretty when we find you!"
The leader of the ragtag group turned to the two others accompanying her. "Okay, spread out. Search the place room by room, quicker we get this done, the better. This is really creeping me the hell out."
And they did, one going left, one going straight ahead, the other going right, towards the kitchen, fortunately not seeing Kat. "No one here... Stop playing games with u-!"
Suddenly, the ganger felt a tap on her shoulder! She spun around to face whoever did that, getting just a glimpse of something very much not human, before getting a much better look at the strange creature's fist. Clearly whoever this was, was -not- messing around.
WHRR! WHAM!
The heavy blow from the reinforced cybernetic damn nearly sent the gangster flying, knocking her to the ground with an obvious broken nose and jaw. Eva quickly glanced at the person who just got well and truly KOd, her HUD lighting up with the words "TARGET INCAPACITATED" before once again returning to the shadows, the other two barging into the room.
Once again, it was still, silent, the only indication of anyone even being here was the figure lying sprawled on the floor with blood trickling from her nose. The two remaining threats ran over to their downed friend, looking around the room, their nerves starting to show more and more with each passing moment.
"This is seriously screwed up!"
"Shut the f*ck up! Just... keep looking, stay close."
Eva calculated the risks again. There were only two of them, but they were armed. A crowbar and a baseball bat are hardly comparable to shotguns and rifles, nonetheless in these close quarters they could prove just as lethal. The previous hostile didn't seem to be too difficult to incapacitate, but that was in an ambush. Nonetheless, with them distracted by their fallen comrade a rapid assault would certainly be enough to get this engagement over and done with in the quickest possible time.
She engaged weapons targeting, her HUD generating optimal attack vectors and crosshairs. One of the hostiles seemed to be getting a lot more nervous about the whole situation. Incapacitating the one that's seemingly remaining more in calm and in control would likely bite the head off this proverbial snake without causing more bloodshed than is necessary, however, pulling the whole scary hooded stranger thing might be able to get them both to flee, rather than having to crack any more skulls.
The darkness was still the digimon's greatest ally here, even with her holosuit down it would be hard to make out much of her appearance, just a strange hooded figure. She stepped out of the shadows just enough for her silhouette to be revealed, staring down the two.
"Thirty seconds. I suggest you run."
She got into a defensive posture just in case, fists at the ready. Good thing too, as the less freaked out of the two instantly tried to take a swing with her crowbar into the digimon's face. However, it seemed that whoever she was attacking had pretty much superhuman reflexes, grabbing the ganger's wrist... and snapping it. The bone crunching and breaking through the skin.
"Twenty five seconds."
"Okay! Okay! We're leaving!"
"Twenty."
The figure's voice was calm, low, but certainly with a dangerous tone. She didn't sound Japanese though, not even close despite being apparently fluent. That accent sounded as though it had come straight from London.
With that, they fled, grabbing their downed friend and bolting through the back door, the hooded figure glaring at them as they left, seemingly ready at any moment to continue the assault.

Cat listened closely, after nearly being discovered by one of gang she started observing the battle intensely. (now we wait) Cat managed to watch that "battle" on distance.
WHRR! WHAM!
Cat's eyes opened wide, while she had anticipated some struggle maybe even a victory, this thing was definitely not human. Cat just stood there motionless for most of Eva's remaining fight. "Katsura?" Nyao asked concerned when Cat didn't respond, Nyao slapped her with her tail. This caused Cat to wake up from her trance. "Sorry." Now relatively calm, Cat started carefully tapping the floor in the hallway. Once the floor started giving in, she turned to Nyao. "Smell the floor, right here." Cat whispered, confused Nyao obligated and almost threw up doing so. Nyao almost chocked as Cat was drawing an "X" on the spot Nyao just smelled. "Sorry Nyao, but if this... Thing... Shows up I want you to hit that X as hard as you can" "Why, Katsura what is going on?" "You will see" Cat said mysteriously

Something still felt off. Hushed voices, too quiet to make out. Was someone else inside this building? Hostile reinforcements perhaps? This spot was not turning out to be the best spot to lay low and repair the malfunctioning holosuit after all. Maybe the voices were just a trick of the wind, whistling through the vacant halls of this nearly empty shell of a building, however, one couldn't be too careful. She began systematically searching each room, night vision active.
Despite no longer being cloaked, whoever that was was virtually silent. She seemed to very much be a professional at this, certainly a step up in the stealth department from the local gangers.

Cat studied Eva closely from distance, Cat took note that as she was instructing Nyao, Eva started moving around in abnormal ways obviously looking around. (it is searching the room) Cat realized that Eva was about to search the house as Eva started entering random rooms. "We hold on the plan, for now" Cat whispered in her lowest pitch possible, Nyao nodded. By listening around for any noises, especially footsteps and squeaky floor tiles while being completely silent herself, Cat could almost always pinpoint the exact location of Eva. This was helped by Nyao who due to her cat-like features had advanced hearing and smell. Every time Cat lost track of Eva, Nyao just casually pointed with her tail at the correct direction. Yes, Katsura is experienced in stealth but she also was far more adapt to abandoned houses in addition to having both the benefit of surprise and sound to guide her. Although Cat probably was overestimating herself, she was starting to think that this thing was an amateur who just had some fancy gadgets to compensate.
When Cat was certain the kitchen would be next, she carefully tapped the kitchen floor yet again and pointed at a spot far away from the back door she entered. Nyao sniffed with an annoyed face and was again about to puke. Satisfied with Nyao's reaction, Cat draw another X on the spot. Cat and Nyao then hid in the cupboard under the sink and managed to get there about a quarter before Eva could search the kitchen. Then they listened intent on not being caught by surprise. This was a good day for Cat to be a petite girl in a house.

Eva continued her sweep of the structure, searching for additional threats. There was something very systematic, precise and almost militaristic in the way she was searching and moving around, as if this whoever this was had some sort of military training. The scent Nyao would be getting, would certainly identify her as a digimon. But there was something different there for sure. A subtle mix of that sort of "new electronics" smell, and WD40. Certainly smelt like equipment from the human world too, rather than anything that would be found in the digital world.
She was about to enter the kitchen when she stopped in the doorway, first looking directly at the two, detecting them near instantly as Kat attempted to hide under the sink, then spotting the X marks on the floor as easily as if the room was filled with bright sunlight rather than the darkness of the very early morning.
Disturbingly, the figure's right hand seemed to fold down, clicking and whirring as it moved to sit flat against her wrist. Behind where the hand once was, there seemed to be some sort of weapon system, which, judging by the very subtle high pitched electrical whine of it charging up, was seemingly some sort of energy weapon.
"If you're going to set a trap, make sure it isn't so obvious." With that, she picked up a fairly large and heavy piece of fallen masonry and chucked it one handed through the rotten section, her weapon still aimed directly at the two. However, she seemed to notice something else, lowering the weapon, however, it was still seemingly very much active, still making that high pitched buzz.
"I recommend you leave. You saw what happened to your ganger friends when they became a threat. Don't make the same mistake they did."
