Being in the Real World was nice for a change. Marshal and Coronamon were hanging out in Hachiko Square, free from the burden of PROFIT work and investigation. Some time off was long overdue.
"I love this statue," Marshal commented. "It's such a beautiful tale. That dog was loyal to his master."
"It almost shows partnered Digimon levels of loyalty," Coronamon noted. "Maybe it wasn't a dog at all?" The two of them were just sitting on a bench admiring the statue and watching people pass by.

Today had marked a day of relaxation for the newly returned citizens of Shibuya Darian and Gabe. Having always found the Hachiko Square to be relaxing, especially with the fact that with all the combat the duo have seen, and that even when the human world gets attacked, Hachiko seems to always be spared, the two found it to be the most relaxing place in Japan.
Darian had taken residence on one of the nearby benches, chin in his palm as he sat staring at the statue of Hachiko. He was lost in his thoughts, zoned out in a place that was constantly bouncing around the thought of how surprised he was that Japan actually seemed peaceful lately. Hell, just two years ago before they returned to Canada, Darian couldn't remember a time that he hadn't been fighting.
Despite the lax in combat, Darian was always one for preparation. Pulling his large deck of Modify Cards from the holder on his hip, he started shuffling through them, ensuring that they were all in order from most to least useful, reading over the specifics in the descriptions of some of the cards, and reorganizing as needed. The lax in action was probably the perfect time to ensure he was prepared for whatever may come in the future.
Gabe on the other hand, casually leaning against one of the trees that he was able to reach from standing against the planters, was watching all the people that passed. People watching had sort of become a fun past time for him as of his visit to Canada, and now that he had picked it up, he had brought that habit along with him to Japan. Though something was troubling him and his canine senses, to which he spoke,
"Does it not bug you that all the tamers we've met have been kids?" he questioned.
This caused Darian to look up from his cards, letting out a sigh as he did,
"It has been weird to be honest. Nobody over the age of fifteen from the looks of it. I mean, I've been doing this for seven years now and was a kid when I started, so maybe it's not too weird. And I guess from the seeming peace in the human world at least maybe the others have just gone dark, or worse." Darian said with a slight worried look on his face before breathing and returning to his usual casual smirk, "But I mean, if we constantly worry about that, we'll go grey before I'm twenty-five, and I'm not too crazy about that." he said with a laugh.
Gabe followed suit with a chuckle of his own, removing some of his electric blue hair from his face before returning to his people watching, every so often taking a sniff of the air to see if he could smell any Digimon or recognizable human scents.

Coronamon suddenly got a whiff of something. "I think there's a Digimon nearby," he said flatly. "It's faint, but I think I can sense someone."
Marshal nodded quietly and looked around. It seemed like a normal day at the square, as he looked around at all the people. After keeping a close watch around his general area, he finally spotted a guy on the bench across from him shuffling through some cards. That seemed like a strange activity to be doing in the middle of the square, but a closer inspection of the deck revealed that they were actually D-Arc cards! "I think I know who we're looking for," Marshal smiled. He got up and walked over to the older gentleman, with Coronamon safely in tow.
"Hi there!" he shouted out. "I like your cards!" Wait, what kind of greeting was that? Man, small talk was never Marshal's strong suit, but you'd think he'd learn after all this time!
Coronamon, however, was more interested in the man's companion. If he had posession of D-Arc cards, then this guy with him could very well be the Digimon that he sensed. He figured it wouldn't hurt to attempt a conversation. "Hello," he began, walking over to the blue-haired guy standing next to the tree.

Gabe had known there was a Digimon around. Even if they were holosuited, there was still a distinct smell. Maybe for younger Digimon who didn't have the experience of sniffing past disguises they could get away with it, but for someone who's been around as long as Gabe, he could sniff out the fact that there was at least someone close by. The only question was who.
Darian on the other hand was twirling his three favourite modify cards in his hand, spinning them between his fingers, recalling the times he had used them before. Super Particle Accelerator, Terabyte Razorhail, and Mirror Shield. Probably his three most useful, used, and favourite cards. Growing three times in size, creating a deadly razorblade storm, and reflecting attacks back....those were nothing to scoff about.
He was so caught up in memories that he was actually thrown off when he heard the shout of someone saying he liked his cards. Darian very nearly leaped out of his seat, not expecting such surprise in the human world of all places.
"Oh, uh, thanks! They're pretty rare. Took a lot to get a hold of them...wait, do you know what these are?" Darian explained, catching on at the last second and questioning the guy in front of him almost immediately after.
Gabe on the other hand, had caught on that the kid now talking to Darian was most likely a Tamer. He smelled of Digimon. His eyes flicked to the orange haired guy walking towards him and suddenly the smell of nearby Digimon

"Well, of course!" Marshal answered. He grabbed his backpack and dug inside it for a moment before pulling out his D-Arc and deck of cards. "I have a small collection, myself." He smiled and fanned out his deck of cards. It paled in comparison to the other guy's, but he still liked to have them around in case of emergencies. "This one's my favorite," he said, pulling out a Gigabyte Glitchmagma. "I found this one at Terminus Mall a while back. Someone bumped into me and dropped it, so I picked it up. It actually came in handy in a big fight that we got into not long after." Realizing he hadn't introduced himself yet, he put his cards away.
"Allow me to introduce myself," he said. "My name's Marshal North, and the tall guy over there is my partner, Coronamon." It was true that Coronamon was a sizable bit taller when wearing his holosuit, standing at least a head above Marshal. Coronamon heard his name and turned around, giving the other young man a bow and polite wave.

(Very sorry about my absence. Getting a hold of my full time work life has been a difficulty.)
Darian smirked as Marshall revealed his Modify Card collection. That was proof enough in itself that this guy was a tamer. Modify Cards had a very significant look to them, and you could only buy them in the Digital World, so really, this was a perfect signal that the new guy in front of him was a fellow tamer. Which probably meant... Darian's thought process quickly glanced over to the brighter haired individual that was approaching Gabe... that was probably his partner.
So they were holosuited, and approaching him calmly. Darian's guard relaxed back to a casual place in his mind. These two were most likely nothing to worry about.
Taking a look at the card Marshal claimed was his favourite, Darian smirked. He has used that card before, in fact he had owned a duplicate of it a while ago..though he had lost it at some point, he wasn't sure. It had been a while since he had shuffled through his deck.
"It's always good to know how to use your cards. Nice to know you weren't taken out by some rogue Digimon who took advantage of a novice." Darian stated playfully.
As Marshal introduced himself, Darian replied with a short wave before collecting his cards up, holstering them, and glancing back at Marshal,
"The name's Darian. And that's Gabe. If you're wondering he's the one in the holosuit." Darian said playfully.
Gabe on the other hand simply waved in Marshal's direction, a slight chuckle escaping his lips at his introduction.
"Y'know, I could just fight you Darian. You'd lose. Can't talk trash after that."
"Yeah but then you don't get food."
Silence filled the air as that hung over Gabe's head.
"That's Digimon cruelty. Just letting you know."
