It was an oddly familiar feeling. It was also a feeling Hagurumon would rather never have again. Something about the clouds rushing past, Takara grinning like a madman, the boat broken in two. For the thousandth time this week, Hagurumon grew convinced that this was how it would end. Not too convinced, mind you. Just, you know, mildly convinced. In a, "I've felt this way so much, I'd almost rather something came of it- Which is why, of course, nothing will" way.
See, this wasn't even the first time this had happened. To the point where it would not be incorrect to copy/paste the entire first time right here and be done with it. However, that would be, like, cheating or something. So, let's take the time to recap the events that led to Team Takara blasting off again! It all started one day on the digital coast...
"I do declare! It is time we brought MetalSeadramon into our fold!" Takara declared to no one in particular. The... Was the term 'general' really appropriate for such a person? The self-proclaimed Treasure Hunter had grown desirous of the glorious sea beast after his last encounter with it. Imagine, all the treasure he could find, with such a powerful creature as his ally! Sadly, MetalSeadramon did not even know that a being named Takara Kureha existed. In fact, by now, the Digimon had completely forgotten their last encounter. Do you remember every single mosquito you swat?
If the answer to that is yes, you're a filthy liar.
In any case, Takara had procured a filthy old dinghy, repaired it, and set sail. Hagurumon did not know what he had repaired it with, and by the smell, he was not sure he wanted to. By the third day of the voyage, he no longer even cared. It had been ridiculously lucky to encounter MetalSeadramon in the wild once. Twice would be more than even a miracle could be account for.
And that miracle was why Hagurumon and his mad partner were now flying throughout the digital sky. The gear doubted they would be so lucky as to land upon the soft, bouncy back of a Whamon once more. If only because every other time he doubted, that was exactly what happened. Hagurumon's will to live may have been destroyed by months of working with Takara, but he still wanted to live! And so, with every bit of code in his body, he doubted their safe arrival upon the back of a whale.
He was only partially incorrect. Or would that be partially correct? Does the difference even matter, as if he is partially incorrect, the rest is correct, and vice versa? The point is, the pair did land safely. Comfortably, even. It was just, not on the back of a Whamon, and it happened rather sooner than anticipated. The strange structure upon which they gently bounced to a halt was quite obviously some form of airship. That is to say, they landed upon the back of an unsuspecting Blimpmon.
"Huh? Who goes there!? Show yourself!" The blimp was obviously disconcerted by having beings he could not see landing on his back. Before Hagurumon could make any attempt to make a proper introduction, Takara was already up and moving. "Before you stands the Legendary Treasure Hunter, Takara Kureha!" Takara declared with pride, ignoring the fact that he was standing about as behind his subject as behind could be.
Takara scrambled forward along the spine of the massive Digimon. Surely forward was where the face was! Hagurumon was just impressed that he didn't fall off- As always, Takara's displays of agility were as impressive as his logic was warped. The human was, of course, misguided in his assumption, but... It was close enough. He was now dangling from a rope before the blimp's giant eye. It was a precarious position, but he made it work.
"A walker...? Che, I float this high to stay away from your kind. Then again, to get here... You must be a flier in disguise. Yes, that must be it. Welcome, brother." Blimpmon managed to convince himself of a false scenario that would not offend his sensibilities. Imagine, a walker, on his distinguished back! Such a thing would surely not do. It was better for all involved this way. Which was why, when Takara told him, "You should join us!" the blimp had no reason to decline. It was simply a matter of neither side listening to the other, with unfortunate consequences for both involved. After all, Blimpmon was now stuck inside Takara's team with no escape, even once he realized his mistake. As for Takara and Hagurumon... Well, they just sucked their foothold into a Xros Loader, and were now falling to the ground which was rather further down than was desirable.
