"Hmm..." Brad said, leaning forward slightly to look at Nyao's cracked ring. "I may be wrong, but the ring may be slightly stronger than leaves and may need a more permanent type of repair?" the Bearmon asked the Salamon. "Perhaps there's some kind of artisan that might be able to help you... what's the word... Jeweller! Yes, perhaps they may be able to fix your ring properly?" he suggested, hoping that he was being helpful. "Maybe there's one in Terminus City? There's lots of specialists that work there".
Before that, Brad listened to Pipmon's story. "Ah, a platoon then. So your instinct is safety in numbers? Quite wise I think" he smiled with approval. "And it's interesting to hear that your data works in that manner. Most digimon born in the Village of Beginnings tend to act independently, like myself. But I admit that I'd rather like walking around in the company of friends".
So he had no name? Brad had no problems with that. "That's nothing unusual. I simply went by the name 'Bearmon' myself, until a human told me the value of having a name" he said, reminiscing, looking in the distance a little. "He told me that a name allows you to simply 'mean something'. All very abstract of course, but he suggested the name 'Brad', presumably at random". He left out the bit where Brad found it unusual that humans tend to name things without knowing their meaning. But they had worked out its meaning together and found that it suited him. "Apparently it means 'Broad Clearing', like the one we appear to be standing in now" he noticed, suddenly. Quite the coincidence.
"Of course if you prefer to go by Pipmon then I can respect that" he made clear. He pondered the decision to travel together. Well, friends were more important than food, Brad wasn't that much of a glutton. "Well, if you like, of course I'm happy to travel with you" he said. "I do that quite a lot lately, I don't mind" he assured them.
He giggled a little as Cion complimented his cap. "Thank you, although I don't really know how I got it, it seemed to have just appeared when I evolved" he said. His t-shirt didn't though, he just preferred not getting sticky things in his fur.
Brad pondered Cion's question as to what a Holy Ring was. "I'm... not quite sure. I think it's something to do with digimon associated with light?" he ventured a theory, although he had nothing to back it up with. Perhaps Nyao would like to explain more? Although she seemed a bit hesitant to divulge information so he didn't think it would happen.

Truly Nyao did know the truth that Brad was thinking about. In reality, as the name implies a holy ring can only be worn by holy digimon. When a digimon falls from grace or gets corrupted they lose their Holy Ring. Nyao was worried that as a Laylamon she would end up hurting Katsura the same way Katsura's dad did, still Nyao felt it was her duty to protect Katsura against anyone who would hurt her. Why did that thought worsen the damage on the ring? That was a question Nyao couldn't answer. She heard Pipmon's advice,
" if this happens to be going deeper than just physical damage.. ehh.. a pilgrimage to Luminas City is said to do wonders." (Sigh, the only way to get there is through flying and I doubt I could enter if I get dark) Nyao thought.
Meanwhile, Pipmon has earned Katsura's attention. "And while it's in our coding to group together like this, but I wouldn't say there is an actual army. Some Asaemon have aspirations for greatness, but to hold sway over us you would have to look further down the line. Those Digimon tend to.. isolate themselves." Katsura felt that she was right to rate pipemon as a thug after hearing this, though she didn't bring it up. "The name is plain ol' Pipmon, with my companions back there being.. also Pipmon. None as fancy as Cion, I'm afraid." Katsura looked confused at Pipmon, "You're all named 'Pipmon', how does that even work? You're a platoon. It sounds a little bit, I don't know, impractical?" Nyao looked thoughtful as she spotted an opportunity to lighten the mood with a short prank as to prove Katsura's point. Intentionally Nyao looked in a barren direction and then started yelling out loud: "HEY PIPEMON!" Nyao expected the platoon of Pipemon to yell back 'what' in unison since they had no way of knowing who Nyao was yelling at. "Thank you! And you have a cool cap! Nice to meet you, Brad the Bearmon." "It is a nice cap indeed"
Once again Nyao felt pressured to explain the concept of 'holy rings' due to both Brad and Cion. She made a large sigh and began speaking. "Fine, a holy ring is-" "Stop" Katsura interrupted Nyao, it was a low but firm tone that surprised Nyao as it contradicted her impression of this vulnerable girl she was building up. Katsura knelt before Nyao to meet her eye to eye. " Katsura?" Katsura started petting Nyao on the head, she made a smile not her fake smiles but a genuine one. "I don't wanna hear it, I can tell you're just trying to protect me. Besides, I liked you even before you got that ring thingie. I trust you" Nyao couldn't help but smile back at Katsura, Nyao stopped feeling insecure for a moment.

While most of those gathered were no doubt forming opinions (be it positive or negative) about their new companions, the Pipmon deliberately made as few reservations as possible, if only not to miss out on what might be useful to know. Only time would tell.
In the meanwhile he just leaned in for the conversation, his eyes glued to the holy ring around Salamon's neck. Upon Cion's question about the object, the rodent Digimon frowned ever so faintly before firing off details as if he were reading them aloud from a book. "Holy rings are often included in the data of a Digimon with a holy lineage. Upon loss or destruction of this item their power level also tends to drop, making them considerably weaker than before. Champion level Digimon being reduced to a mere Rookie, Ultimates to Champion and so on. In this case Digivolution is no longer possible, unless they turn their back on this power altogether." A quick inhale of air followed, and just like that he once again returned to his silent self as if nothing had happened.
While he had rambled on, most of the other Pipmon had cautiously shuffled closer towards their traveling companion. By the looks of it they still felt quite uneasy about the whole scenario, their gaze not leaving the strange creature known as Katsura for even the briefest of moments in case she lashed out. Their impromptu ambassador spoke up as the human questioned if things didn't tend to get confusing if they share the same name. "They know if they share a bond with whomever calls upon Pipmon, be it singular or even plural." He was interrupted by Nyao's yelling, giving them the perfect example what would happen if there was no such connection: The Pipmon were back to square one, only the rustling in the bushes gave away their presence. "Don't worry about them."
But it seemed like the prank pulled by her was the last thing on her list to be concerned about. While it generally was a form of doubt that caused such extensive damage to a holy ring, it took Pipmon a moment to notice the relationship between the Nyao and Katsura. And before he knew it, he had blurted out his question towards the human girl. "Katsura.. I have not the slightest bit of interest in what happened to you in the past, but it looks like your Digimon partner does. And I highly doubt there is any reason for you to trust me, but I would like to take Salamon here to Luminas City to have the ring restored to its original glory. You heard Brad: He wants to come with, so there is at least two Digimon for you to trust here, assuming Salamon is on board with it." And with those words, he looked at Nyao with a smile.

Brad suggested the Salamon that she should probably task a jeweller to repair her holy ring, but she quickly negated this idea for reasons both of them did not quite comprehend. What was so fundamental about this ring that they were not allowed to really know about it, nor to let it be repaired? Resting her hands against her hips, she could only shake her head with an expression of minor disconcertment.
"Mhm... okay." She commented quietly, deciding to just drop the topic if they were for some reason not comfortable with telling them more about it. She was not disappointed that the Bearmon could not really explain her what is was, nor was she a snoopy person anyway, hence she had no difficulty distracting herself from the subject at hand.
"Heh, two souls one story." She responded to Brad with a chuckle and a wide grin, shaking her ocarina a little and briefly pointing at her equally crystalline bow to make clear they had the sudden apperance of items after their digivolution in common. It seemed this was simply part of their ascendance; manifestations of their personality to be wielded only by them. Brad's was mostly an expression of his laid-back attitude, while Cion used her ocarina to put her thoughts and emotions into melody, and her bow was her power and will to do good materialized as a weapon of protection.
The prank of Nyao did not go unnoticed, and it made the Arnamon smirk a little, though she kept her composure as not to affront the Pipmons. After all, she was a gentlewomon, so displaying constant cordiality was in her nature and desire.
Suddenly, the sole Pipmon spoke up about the holy rings again, and the explanation at hand was indeed a solid one she was thankful for. So just like her and Brad's items, it was part of her very essence which originated from her holy data-type. According to Pipmon, it was a core part of her power, which she would permanently lose upon the ring's destruction. And the only way to regain their strength was to alter their very being, rejecting what makes them 'holy'. "I see. That's... an adverse fate." She commented, giving the Pipmon a briefly bow to display her gratitude.
He wanted to help the girl and the Salamon as well, which was... quite intriguing. Two strangers, one of them even part of a semi-collective conciousness, and they were willing to help without asking for anything in return. It was truly inspiring. Raising her chest, her hands still resting against her hip, she suddenly stood strong and tall with an expression of joyful audacity, something she probably got from her brother Owen. "Ain't a good escort of fighters without a supporter! Healing, stunning, snaring; I'd be happy to assist!" She offered her assistance as well, of course without asking for anything in return.
Where there was a chance to help, she would take it.

Brad didn't mind when Nyao didn't immediately answer his question. Evidently the conundrum of the cracking Holy Ring must be distressing for her, so he didn't want to make things difficult for her by prying too closely. Meanwhile, he paid attention to what Katsura was saying. Of course she shared the same human outlook that things simply must have names. Brad didn't like to press other digimon on the matter, but he was interested to see what Pipmon's opinion of names was.
And Nyao decided to make a sudden demonstration of the heart of the matter. Brad staggered a little from surprise, but didn't react angrily, in fact he chuckled as he realized that the Salamon was exploiting the greatest weakness of many digimon not having names. And, it seemed, those apart from the leading Pipmon hid in the bushes again. He beamed at Nyao for complimenting his cap as well. However, he listened keenly to Pipmon's explanation of a holy ring.
"Wow, you're pretty smart to know that" Brad said, impressed at the rat digimon's knowledge. "Did you learn that through your training?" he inquired, interested.
Unfortunately the subject of Holy Rings seemed to grate a little with Nyao and Katsura. Seeing how uncomfortable they were, Brad decided not to press the matter any further. "Alright then" he said, silently promising not to bother them any more about the matter of the ring. However, Pipmon still seemed steadfast in making sure it was alright. Brad looked at him with admiration. He seemed very brave for such a small digimon. And so knowledgeable too. It seemed there might be lots of things that Brad could learn from him if they travelled together.
When Cion responded to him, Brad understood at once and winked. Of course, items that appeared on a digimon through their evolution was a fulmination of their true data. It seemed Cion's data was affiliated with crystalline objects, while Brad's simply seemed to be his cap. But he understood that they held great meaning for the digimon that wielded them.
And when Cion agreed to accompany them too, it seemed the matter was decided. "Alright then! Miss Katsura and Miss Salamon, we're happy to accompany you to Terminus City to help you solve your problems" Brad said. The Bearmon looked at the road ahead, and spoke a little distantly, but he spoke his thoughts.
"I mean, there must be a reason why humans have come to the digital world at this time. And we can hardly afford to make a bad impression, so, if you simply need a travelling party to the city, we're happy to accompany you to someone who can help you properly".

Nyao was impressed by how organized the Pipmons were, she felt that she had underestimated them since the prank failed. Yet it seems like it succeeded in lighten up the mood, especially judging on Brad's laughter. Even though Katsura already said that she didn't want to hear about holy rings Pipmon had other plans. It saddened Nyao to be reminded just how big a deal the ring moreover now there was no way for Katsura not to know. Katsura kept the same facial expression for once Nyao could tell if it was a fake smile so she looked confused at Katsura. "This changes nothing between us, I already told you. Though we better get someone to look at your ring if it means that much to you."
As on cue, Pipmon already had a solution which in hindsight was Brad's idea. "Katsura.. I have not the slightest bit of interest in what happened to you in the past, but it looks like your Digimon partner does. And I highly doubt there is any reason for you to trust me, but I would like to take Salamon here to Luminas City to have the ring restored to its original glory. You heard Brad: He wants to come with, so there is at least two Digimon for you to trust here, assuming Salamon is on board with it." Pipmon had already proved to Katsura that he was harmless and even if he wasn't she didn't knew the way. Generally Katsura was moved by Pipmon's offer and not long after, Brad reaffirmed that he too wanted to help. "Well Nyao, I really think we should go. The ring sounds important."
Nyao sighed in defeat, "Since when did you become the persistent one? I thought I was the one dragging us around."
Katsura just petted Nyao again, "Since you became the one in need."
In a last ditch to avoid the topic, Nyao spoke again, "Luminas City is so high in the sky that the only way to get there is through flight and I have no wings."
Katsura stood up again, she turned to Pipmon who apparently knew a lot about everything. "Pipmon-, emm pipemons? How do we get flying, is there any airplanes in the digital world?"
OOC: Should we continue the rp somewhere else? Like Digital Core or The Empyrean Skies?

If only they knew how rich of knowledge the tiny Digimon actually was, the explanation of the holy ring could even be discribed as somewhat shallow. Still, it felt good to receive the compliments and the sense that the subject could be comprehended by all now. He simply couldn't feel bad for the position he had forced Nyao into: There was a possible solution for her problems now, and if they all toughed it out it wouldn't be long before things were set right.
Luckily for him, his hopes weren't shattered right off the bat. One by one his companions decided to help the cause, hoping to achieve something together. "Thank you all. Brad, I'll no doubt tell you all about it, but right now time is a sparse commodity as we don't know how much longer the ring will hold out. Worst case scenario we'll have to replace the ring somehow, but Luminas City is -the- place holding our options." Pipmon quickly threw a glance as the bushes hiding his companions, deciding whether or not his original companions would be slowing them down on their new journey. Besides, they had different plans to begin with. Forcing them into this didn't achieve anything for most reasons than he could think of on such a short notice.
Nyao and Katsuna's questions were also still at hand. He slowly looked both of them over as if the answer might appear out of thin air. "Aeroplanes? I would say Pteramon comes closest to that description. On the other hand, there are also aerial transportation Digimon like Blimpmon. That or we have to simply find a owner of D-ARC or D-MR." Pipmon replied, not sure if any of such options would be available to them. He had never before even considered going to Luminas City, let alone with an entire group he hadn't known mere hours earlier. None of them seemed like they would be of a Digivolutionary lineage capable of flight. Leaving Salamon out of the equation, naturally. Seems like they had to go over the very basics before his plans took any shape whatsoever. "On second thought, it might be better to check on our resources first: What's our budget?"
Using the tip of his wooden sword, the rodent Digimon started to feverishly scribble into the dirt and it wouldn't be long before an entire roster was laid out in front of them. The symbols, while similar to those engraved into Salamon's ring would probably be unreadable for Katsura. The Digimon however would see the first of what could only be described as a checklist: From food to bribe money, from the amount of time they had left to a crude layout of Luminas City, all would be included. More and more it became clear that Pipmon would be someone to write an entire guide dedicated to something as simple as brushing one's teeth. And none of them would be able to tell if he actually hadn't gone ahead and done it in the past.

(I'm fine with switching to either of those soon. Let me know what you all think.)

Brad had a fair point. The girl was far from the first human being Cion had met personally, Colin being the first. Though she was young and recognized that things had already been going on before her reincarnation, she comprehended that the emergence of humans was a recent event and reason for perturbation. Nobody blamed mankind's apperance for anything, but digimons feared that something big was going on in the shadows that required the intervention of digi-destined to deal with. If that was true, it was in their duty to support Katsura and Nyao as much as possible, which the Arnamon was happy to do.
Despite the Salamon's disapproving attitude, she had a fair point. If Luminas City truly was high in the sky, which Cion did not know since she had never visited the place, then they needed some form of transportation. She would ask the trio she knew for assistance, but she did not know where they were at the moment, nor would she know how to pay them back for a ride with their Blimpmon. None of them had the ability to fly, so it was a difficult question indeed; and apparently they were running out of time, making the situation tense.
The Pipmon already made the same suggestions she had in mind, though she had no idea what D-items were he was referencing. "What are those?" The Arnamon asked the rodent-digimon, wondering if those were viable options after all. Though they soon realized that they were not the most wealthy of digimons, and that they needed to find a way to help out without going bankrupt. "Well... I can provide a couple of thousands, as little as that is..." She offered, wishing she was not as impecunious as she was. Her application for the city's sentinels was still out in the open, it being her best chance for a solid income to afford a good life.

(OOC: That's fine. We can move this to Terminus City or the Empyrian Skies next round or this round).
It seemed that their help was accepted. Brad was glad when Nyao seemed to lower resistance for the idea and it seemed they would be a travelling party. He nodded with understanding as Pipmon said that there wasn't time to discuss things like that at this moment. Perhaps later when the problem had been solved.
"Hmm. How to get to Luminas City...?" Brad repeated. The Bearmon had been a little confused at first, he had thought they were going to Terminus City, but Luminas City was another thing altogether, mainly because as a Bearmon he was fairly firmly earthbound.
"Normally when we need to go somewhere we can't usually, we hire another digimon to take us there" Brad said. "And there should be plenty of flying digimon willing to take us to the sky". Luminas City was a City after all, it could hardly survive if nobody could go there to give it supplies.
It was pretty much their only option as Brad sensed that none of them could yet digivolve and nobody seemed to posess a D-Arc or D-MR. And so Pipmon suggested that they pool their resources together, scribbling some digicode into the dirt, pretty much forming a checklist.
"Hmm. My situation is the same, all I can spare is some bits" Brad said. "However, I may know someone in Terminus City that can assist us. A flying digimon that could take us where we need to go, so long as we give a tip big enough to make it worthwhile".
Brad looked back down the way he came. "And as to how we can get to Terminus City? Well, if we can afford it, a Trailmon ticket should be sufficient. Otherwise we can get there by nightfall if we want to go on foot, by my guessing".
He hoped that these ideas were good for the group. Honestly? He was a little excited about the prospect of visiting Luminas City.

Nyao though bewildered finally gave in, if Katsura had to pressure her into doing something it was a nice gesture to know it was out of love. Still she tried to use her judging look at Katsura one last time, this time it didn't work as Katsura already had made her mind to help Nyao. That Nyao wasn't that excited to get help allowed Katsura to get some kindhearted revenge for 'pushing' her to be a tamer in the first place.
Katsura saw that the others was emptying their pockets, she handed out about 1000 yen and showed them to Pipmon. "Speaking of "bits", I don't suppose human money works in this world? By the way, what is a D-ARC?" Katsura then turned her attention to Brad, the idea that getting someone to fly to a city sounds intriguing. That got Katsura to think, (Those bits must be some sort of currency around here, whatever they are I can probably manipulate one to fly us all for free.) Katsura started looking around for anything that could somehow benefit them on a travel through the sky though even she could admit she had no clue what she was searching for. Hopefully somewhere there would be something that could help them get going.

From what Pipmon could tell, resources weren't going to be at their side for this undertaking. The fact that most weren't informed about the existence of D-ARC and D-MR didn't help either. "The D-ARC and D-MC are applications fueled by human-made cards of various aspects of the Digital World. For a certain amount of time you can adopt parts of other Digimon, thus allowing for flight and the like. Such advanced technology has a price tag." At moments like these he could see the use of Digimon like Machinedramon and Kimeramon, having loads of utility at their disposal without limitations that plagued others such as themselves. The world was often too cruel to simply give you the solution right away.
And with that, the scribbling continued. Displayed in the dirt was a new schema with the details on their combined resources. He didn't have a clue how to convert the yen bill into any valid currency, given that what little amount of information he had on exchange rates could be either current or up to 65 years old. It mattered little, because by the looks of it they were far from their goal in the shape of a D-device if they legitimately wanted to purchase one. Haggling was one thing, outright performing magic was another altogether. "Looks like we're limited to hiring whomever is willing to take us."
Pipmon just blankly stared out in front him as the Bearmon came up with a few suggestions. At least having a lead on where to go next beat not having one, and so he nodded in agreement. Terminus City it would be! Perhaps an opportunity would present itself to make the whole trip more worthwhile, as it was the big city after all and they could use whatever help they got. With a sharp whistle the remaining Pipmon were summoned in front of him while only barely refraining from saluting. To his great surprise all of the platoon were still present. "With a new objective tagged on, I thought I would make clear that none of you are obligated to accompany us to Luminas City. Any questions?" He knew that none of them had the guts to call him out of his latest quest or his apparant madness, all that rose from the group was an mutter which apparantly settled the matter for them. And with that, he knew that they could leave whatever was left to their journey enroute. Next stop: Terminus City!

With all suggestions and offerings clear, Brad started to form a plan with the assets he had at hand. His suggestion was simple, but it seemed to be the most logical way to do things. To accomplish their goal as quickly as possible, they would go to Terminus City by train and hire a digimon that could fly to bring them to Luminas City. It really did not sound like an economic plan, but then again the couple of thousand bits in her pockets were just chump change. She had a home with Owen, daily warm meals; so a little sacrifice like that she could certainly endure.
"Pretty sure it does not." Cion responded to Katsura, not even certain what human money looked like. Thankfully, both of them did not know what a D-Arc was, making her feel less silly about herself. As always, the great and wise Pipmon was ready to answer them their questions, and it certainly made the Arnamon curious about them. Items that allowed humans and maybe even digimons to temporarlity transmutate to adapt aspects of other digimons. "Woah..." She gushed under her breath, kind of wanting to meet an Angemon now.
Still, since they had no access to such technology, Brad's plan remained the only viable option. The only thing that could currently lift her spirits was the fact the other Pipmons were standing ready to assist as well. "Huh... no attempts no success I suppose." She stated with a shrug, being ready to follow wherever this adventure would lead her. Hopefully, Owen would forgive how she spent the rest of her money for this month.
(Sure, let's move it if you want!)

"Hmm, no, I don't think yen works in this world unfortunately" Brad said. Pipmon seemed to know lots about a D-Arc, making the Bearmon even more impressed. And so it was agreed that their next stop would be Terminus City. "Excellent! I believe the Trailmon station is this way" Brad smiled. He turned around and presumably led the group to a small forest platform. It had no staff present, just simply a destination board and a timetable. Brad inspected it quickly, and to his delight, the next Trailmon was due in a couple of minutes. "If we'd like to travel on a budget, it would be best to get economy seats" Brad said. "They can be a little uncomfortable, but we'll have more money at the end of it. Whichever class you'd like to sit in is up to you".And thus, shortly after, the Trailmon Angler soon pulled up by the station. Surprisingly he didn't say much, either out of boredom or professionalism. Other than his destination would be Terminus City. When they were aboard the carriage, Brad demonstrated what they should do with buying tickets - pay a small vending machine in the carriage they wanted to sit in and take the ticket that came out. Then all would be set. Brad was excited to be travelling with friends. It sure beat travelling alone. And they would even be in Terminus City by lunch time! [Thread Exit]
