Nova and Sparkmon were once again searching Server Woods, following a tip from Digitamamon. They were walking so long that they were wondering if Digitamamon was wrong. "Are you sure it's this way?" Nova asked. Sparky nodded. "Yeah. On top of that I'm having the oddest deja vu vibe from this place," Sparkmon reported. They continued walking in silence. That is until Nova remembered something. "Didn't Digitamamon mention something about Impmon?" he asked. "Yeah, but I don't believe..." Sparkmon trailed off. His eyes went blank.
"What is it, Sparky?" Nova asked after a moment. Sparkmon gave no answer. Instead he made a slight right turn. "Sparky!" Nova called as he started jogging after him. Then Sparkmon stopped. When Nova stopped too, he looked around the area. It was the village. There wasn't that many Digimon despite the number of houses, but there were Veemon, Veedramon, and Exveemon. Nova only found out their names by scanning them. "I... I remember..." Sparkmon said, finally snapping out of his trance. "I remember coming here once before..."
"You do?!" Nova asked in surprise. "Yeah... this place... I used to live here! Nova, I made it to my old home!" Sparky cried out. his expression saddened. "But... I also remember leaving... but I can't remember why..." "Anything else?" Nova asked. "A name. Plasmadramon," Sparkmon answered. That name seem to hang in the air. With more questions than answers, there was only one thing they could do. "Let's ask around. Someone must know him."

After almost a year of wandering around the digital world looking for answers, the duo of Rich and Leo finally resurfaced. The cursed teenager and the Coronamon walked side by side as they exited the woods. Leo sItopped and looked behind them. "I hear voices. We should be weary." Rich put his hood up and hid his face. The child shrugged and continued walking. "I'm not worried. Most people wouldn't attack a child and if they did, they would have picked the wrong one to mess with."
Rich stopped and leaned against a tree to take a rest from walking. It had been awhile since he had seen anyone aside from the occasional flying digimon. He pushed a few buttons on the watch on his wrist and a flash of green light luminated the area. After the light died down, A few sandwiches and sodas were next to Rich on the ground. The tamer patted the ground next to him and looked up at his digimon. "Relax. We're the baddest duo in the digital world, remember?" Leo nodded and sat down next to his tamer for a lunch break.
Leo looked around the area and smiled. "Remember last time we were here? We were part of that war with all those evil digimon. The whole village got destroyed, but it seems to have gotten better since then." He said, reminiscing back to times before the curse. Both of them fell silent as they remembered the damage and casualties that also occured during that fight.

“Excuse me,” Nova began. “Have you seen Plasmadramon?” Nova asked a random Veedramon. “No, but I’ve heard rumors about him,” she (surprisingly a girl) answered. “They say he’s a powerful Ultimate level Digimon. Few would go so far as to say that he’s the strongest Ultimate level there is. All anyone knows for sure is that he worked under Alphamon.” “The Alphamon?” Sparkmon asked. The Veedramon nodded.
Nova was obviously lost. “Whoa, hold on. First, what levels of Digimon are there, and second, who’s Alphamon?” Nova asked. “There are 7 levels of Digimon. The weakest is Fresh, most Digimon of which are newborn. Then there’s In-Training, Rookie, and Champion. After that, there’s Ultimate and Mega, which is Alphamon’s level, followed by Super Mega,” Sparkmon explained.
“Alphamon is one of the Royal Knights, a group of powerful and noble who work hard to protect this world.” “Sorry, I’m still pretty new here,” Nova apologized. “Hey Sparky!” a voice called. Sparkmon turned to Nova. “I told you my name isn’t Sparky!” “But I didn’t say it,” Nova objected. They turned to the direction of the voice. The speaker was a Black ExVeemon. “What’s the matter? Don’t recognize me?” He asked. Then both Nova’s and Sparky’s stomachs growled.
“C’mon, I’ll take you guys to my place.”

Rich looked up from his sandwich to the boy who appeared to be hopelessly lost. He was obviously new to the digital world or just hasn't found his way around yet. he had been traveling with was unlike one the duo had ever seen before. They finished up their sandwiches and stood up to start walking again. Rich kept weary eyes on the new tamer though. He knew how deception could be very common with anybody new to this world.
Leo looked over and eyed the blackexveemon that was calling out to the boy and his digimon. Though there were exceptions, virus type digimon were always a bunch to watch. "We can't leave just yet. I have a feeling we may be needed." Leo said, quietly trying to listen in on their conversation. The coronamon and his tamer stood out due to the fact they weren't any variations of veemon. Rich put his hood back up to hide his face from the crowd.
Rich walked back into the shadows and pushed a few buttons on his watch. After a few turns of the dials, a shadowy figure emerged from the watch. "I need you to keep tabs on that tamer. Make sure nothing happens to him." Rich said to the figure. The mysterious figure nodded and shimmered into the darkness. Rich walked back over to Leo and looked up at him. "Taken care of. Now, we wait."

"So, X, how do you know me?" Sparkmon asked. The Black ExVeemon smirked. "Don't you remember? I found you badly injured in the Valley of Dragons years ago on a flight. I brought you here because you looked a little like a Veemon. By the way, X is my real name." "So, X, why'd Sparky leave?" Nova asked. X frowned and looked at Sparkmon. "You left because you said that you needed to find out where you belong." "You seem a little shady, no offence," Nova began. "How do we know we can trust you?" X laughed heartily. "That wouldn't be the first time someone said that. I'm literally and figuratively the black sheep of my family," X replied.
"Nobody in my family is as trustworthy as me and most are loners. They cast me out because I didn't turn out the way they wanted." "And that's supposed to convince us... how?" Nova asked. "If your whole family was blue and you were the only black Digimon in your family, wouldn't you want to stand out as much as possible just for attention?" X countered. "Okay, good point." "Most are in the Valley anyways." "Which makes me glad I avoided all Champion and higher Digimon there," Sparky put in. "Unfortunately that means all the Digimon there that I asked were too young to know me."
"Well I wish you had returned at a different time," X stated. "Why is that?" Sparky asked. "You heard the rumor about the deleted Impmon, right?" "I don't believe it." X sighed. "Well lately a strange fog has been appearing here in the village. Every time someone is outside when it appears they vanish," he explained. He stopped at a house. "We're here."

Rich looked over at the blackexveemon. There seemed to be something off abotu him, but Leo haden't said anything about him yet. He was either good hearted, or a really good faker if Leo's ability didn't pick up on him. Rich watched as they conversed with the strange digimon. He couldn't stand to see another new tamer go down that easily. It was true they have been out of the hero business for some time, but he was still considered a protector. He looked down at the watch where his secret identity of the Black Ranger resided. Rich sighed. "Maybe today is the day... We've been out of the game for far too long now." The ebony suit he had donned so many times in the past was now just another thing on his wrist taking up space in his watch. Secretly, Rich missed the thrill of risking his life at every opportunity to help people and digimon he barely even knew for reasons he didn't quite understand. Whatever the reason was, it was strong enough for the duo to trail this tamer to ensure his safety.
The figure Rich had summoned out of his watch went into position. He was fully invisible now and able to sneak around for a limited amount of time before coming back in the light. The stalker followed them silently behind them to the house. He silently waited behind them to be let inside the house. Getting back out was going to be another story, but he figure he would cross that bridge when he came to it.
Rich sat back down and waited for his spy to get back or send some kind of sign. He may be able to handle his own in there, but its not like him to go against orders. "Come on. Let's get closer to the house." Rich said, walking far behind the exveemon and the tamer. He stopped far enough away so it looked like they were looking for something else. They were too far to hear anything, but the spy was right behind them in case anything went wrong.

X opened the door and walked inside with Nova. Sparky was just about to follow suit when... *Snap!* He quickly turned around. The source of the sound turned out to be a snapped twig on the ground, but the one who stepped on it was nowhere to be seen. Bewildered, he went inside and promptly locked the door behind him. "Now let's get you something to eat," X suggested. "I'll cook!" Nova volunteered. "That human pal of yours is a cook?" X asked. "Yeah, we got jobs at a restaurant the day after we met," Sparkmon answered.
"How about you two catch up?" Nova suggested. "In that case, let me tell you how we met. All right, so I was looking for this place because of a tip an Agumon gave me back in the Valley of Dragons. Then when I get to a cliff over looking the woods, I see him cornered by a Solarmon and a Hagurumon. I jumped down and deleted the Solarmon, but then the Hagurumon digivolved to Guardromon," Sparkmon summarized. "What did you do?" X asked. "What could we do? We ran. We got rid of him later by burying him." "I was the bait and Sparky dropped the boulders on him, and credit of the plan goes to me," Nova explained. Sparkmon nodded.
"Was the Guardromon all 'PUNY HUMAN, TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER'?" X asked. "Sort of. He was trying to kill me," Nova answered.

The sun was gently hanging in the air as the wind blew a gentle breeze into the trees, the leaves responding with idol brushing that combined, defended any noise outside of the forest. Viktor used this to his advantage, and the tree line for actual cover. It was a better alternative than walking in the middle of a desert or a plain. The duo was in no hurry, for once no one was tracking them, and no one wanted them dead. Or at least as far as they knew. Genesis was walking next to him, making sure not to keep her tamer in arms length. Normally, she'd be hoping from tree to tree, getting some kind of idea of the lay of the land and giving it to Viktor. The small, dead twigs broke under his boot as he walked, again not really caring who heard or saw him.
Genesis spoke as she stopped, Viktor halting as well. Her ears twitched as Viktor looked at her;
"What do you hear, Genesis?"
She sniffed the air, they were down wind of something; "I can smell a two humans, and a few more Digimon. I can vaguely make out, something about an Agumon and Guadromon. I'll survey up."
Viktor frowned; "Find out how close they are to the house and come back as soon as possible, okay?"
Genesis smiled and vanished as she jumped, leaving Viktor by himself as he began concealing their path. Anyone able to track would have a hard time when they go to this point, leaving broken branches and random footprints akin in a drunken sailor. He was quiet, and his he knew how to stave off that sixth sense that people and digimon had for sensing people. The Russian quietly made a blanket of leaves that covered his body and laid down, low crawling to the hill where he could see the group of digimon and tamers below. The vantage point, as he called it, was a small cliff that was roughly 400 meters from Rich and Leo, and a bit further from The Sparkmon and their posse. This where he'd set up to begin picking off targets, if he had a rifle and was contracted to do so. But neither the latter or former were true, but for recon, he always carried a scope with him, just to enhance his eyesight. He scanned the tree line, making sure no-one was watching him. At first he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when a tree moved on it's own, the leaves shook a bit more than should have. There was something in that tree, and it was watching the Sparkmon and his group. He took a mental note and swung the scope around, noticing the boy and his Leomon, silently cursing as he knew it was.
He keyed a small radio, which made a very quiet beep in his ear as he spoke; "Genesis, it is Rich and Leo. You can make contact with them, inform them there is something in the tree line to their north, it is either really good at camouflage or invisible. Considering it had not attacked them yet, I assume it is his."
Genesis didn't speak as she leaped down, appearing before Rich and Leomon; "Heya, long time no see Rich. Uh, is that spy yours? The one in the tree?" she subtly pointed to him.
She was quiet so she wouldn't give away their positions, she knew that feeling all to well. She waited for his response as she closed in a little to ensure that they would stay quiet and hidden.

Rich kept his hood up as he waited for some sort of action to happen. He was beginning to think that nothing of importance was happening aside from just a digimon talking to another digimon. The child kicked at a rock in front of him to try to pass the time. Anything at all that could make this stakeout more interesting would be perfect. The thought of just aborting the 'rescue' altogether flooded the tamer's mind.
Leo's ears quickly perked up, but he didn't turn around. He leaned in close to his tamer and spoke softly. "We're being watched. Be weary.'' Rich nodded silently and put his hand over his watch. Leo didn't know who was doing it, but he had a feeling it had something to do with the tamer inside.
The fox like digimon that dropped in front of the duo made them jump. Rich jumped backwards and activated his watch. As for Leo, within seconds, he had a flaming sword in his hands. It wasn't until the Renamon spoke that the duo let their guard down. The infiniwatch deactivated and the coronamon let the flames of the sword extinguish. How did this renamon know about them? The two had been 'dead' for almost a year now. There had to be something in the past Rich was forgetting. The child opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by his digimon partner.
"I remember you. You were paired up with that man... Viktor if I recall?" Leo said, reminicing back to the times before they killed themselves off. Rich looked up at Genesis and sighed. "Be careful throwing names around. They carry power. Yes. The one in the tree is a friend of mine. He is making sure the tamer we're watching over is safe." Rich said, looking around the area they were in. Rich finally put his hood down, revealing his child form to the Renamon. "We have a lot to catch up on. Some things have... changed since you last saw us."

“Okay, enough about how we got here,” Nova said as he sat down bowls of hot ramen on the table. “What’s happened before we got here?” “Well everyone left the place when Tyrannomon, a champion level, showed up. It took a red Veemon look-alike some help from a human, but he was able to solve that problem. Aero Veedramon left later that day saying he needed to take care of something in Terminus. Ever since he left that fog’s been showing up,” X explained.
“I see…” Nova replied. They all stared down at their bowls of ramen. After a few moments silence, Sparkmon spoke up. “I’ll stop whatever’s kidnapping he Digimon here.” X stared at Sparkmon, jaw dropped in stunned silence. “Braver Digimon and stronger Digimon have tried. They aren’t here anymore,” he replied, finally finding his voice. “Has anyone spotted Impmon in that fog?” Nova asked. X shook his head. Nova stared at his ramen once more. I know what I have to do, but I can’t tell Sparkmon, Nova thought. …And I could potentially get myself killed trying.
“Well at least we’re getting somewhere,” Sparkmon said. “My memories of this village have been slowly coming back to me ever since we got here. X really is on the level.” Nova smirked. They got two solid leads for the price of one. That alone was enough to brighten his mood for a while. “Well no sense in letting the food get cold. Hurry up and start eating already,” Nova said bluntly, once again in the mood to eat. After they finished their ramen, X and Sparky began talking about the past again.
Nova quietly walked over to the door and discovered it was locked. Sparky must have locked it, but why? Nova wondered as he undid the lock as quietly as possible. Continuing to use stealth, he opened the door and carefully closed it behind him. His gaze traveled to a young boy. He began walking over there… *Snap!* …and stepped on the broken twig Sparky spotted earlier. Muttering a swear, he continued walking. “Hey, kid,” Nova began quietly enough where nobody else other than the two Digimon with the boy could hear him. “I know you've probably been here longer, but either way you should take cover soon.”

Genesis tilted her head, Rich was a bit unclear to her, what did they mean change? He looked the same as she remembered him. Maybe he grew up in his own way. She filed behind Leo as Viktor was still on the hill. He was a sniper in his profession, it was within reason that he could be on top of the group without anyone really knowing he was there. But surprise on your own team was a surfier way to catch an attack.
He cleared the ground with an open palm, drawing the house in the dirt to gauge the distance from the vantage point to the building, he counted a few hundred meters, roughly 400 meters. The time it would take could vary between quick or snail paced. If he had his rifle, Viktor could easily cover plenty of ground and focus his line of sight on that shadowy figure in the tree. That is until Genesis told him it was friendly. He popped the mirror atop the scope in and out, "flashing" the figure as he scanned, noticing a new kid approaching, he couldn't make out was he was saying, but the looks they gave the kid spoke volumes.
It was time to move.
Genesis sighed, "Cover? What's headed our way? And in which direction. Rich...Are you and Leo okay by yourself? I have to get to Viktor."
She looked up to see his scope flash at her, he was still up there. Oblivious to anything on it's way. But he was at a vantage point, and the drop wasn't that high, maybe ten-fifteen meters, but a wrong turn and it spelled a broken ankle.
Maybe now wasn't the best time to catch up.

Rich glared at the tamer that called him a kid, but he couldn't blame him. He technically was a kid, just not mentally. To him and the rest of the world, he was just a 7 year old kid with a digimon at his side. Rich had secrets nobody could know unless they were close to him in some way. He put his hood back up and turned away from them. He decided to have a little fun with this new guy. After all, how many times do you get to come back from the dead? Might as well make this introduction the best he could. "Kid? Cover? Please! You happen to be talking to one of the strongest beings in the digital world." He turned to face Genesis. "We'll be fine. I'm younger physically. I'm still the same Rich as I was when you met me last. Go and find Viktor. You're going to need to protect him."
Leo was not on the same ground as his tamer. As far as he was concerned, it was still their duty to protect. "Excuse Rich. He's... well... He's Rich. Anyways. I'm sure we can handle anything that comes into this village. I think you should find your digimon and make sure the villagers are safe. Either that, or join the fight." Leo said, looking around the village. To him, everything seemed to be normal, but this tamer obviously knew something he didn't. It had been awhile since they were in action aside from the occasional ambush, but that was all.
Rich looked up at the trees and shrugged. The stealth plan wasn't as good as he had hoped, but it wasn't a total loss. Without it, they would have left the village after they were done eating lunch. "You can come down now. I don't think we require stealth anymore." Rich said, looking up into the trees. The shadows in the trees moves as an unseen force shook the ground behind Rich as it landed. A digimon shimmered into the light, revealing itself to be a blackgargomon. The blackgargomon silently nodded and walked over to the child. With a few pushes of the watch on his wrist, a bright green light engulfed the area, then the blackgargomon vanished again.
"So. What kind of things are we dealing with? Birds? Rats? Bats? I'm game for anything. I'm game for anything."

“So the kid’s older than he looks. This world’s full of surprises,” Nova muttered.
“There’s a fog that’s been causing disappearances from around the village. It could be coming in soon from any direction. It’s rumored to be caused by the ghost of a deleted Impmon,” he answered. “However the ExVeemon I just spoke with told me something crucial: the Impmon hasn’t been seen in the fog. So I’m going to investigate it myself.” Nova took a second to scan Leo and Genesis with his Loader. “I’ll most likely need saving in the event something goes wrong with my plan, if you’ll help me.”
“I’ll be standing near here when the fog comes. I’m willing to bet that if you’re hidden that you’ll be fine. The first scenario, if it really is Impmon’s ghost is where I’ll need help the most. I have no experience dealing with that sort of thing. My partner just might be able to take him regardless. The second, if it isn’t Impmon and some other Digimon showing up, I’ll need help if the enemy is Champion Level or higher or if there are multiple enemies.
The third, the one I’m hoping for, is that there is no enemy in the fog and the villagers have been hypnotized somehow and leave the village on their own. If that’s the case and I start walking away from my post I’ll need you guys to follow me using as much as stealth as you can. This way we can find all the missing villagers as well as stop any more disappearances.”

Genesis waved at Rich as she caught barely anything Nova said, and made a mad dash to Viktor, who wasn't to be found anywhere. She stopped and looked around, trying to find. Where her tamer went. He left no traces which way he went, and if he did, it would be misdirection. Viktor was too experienced to leave something a trivial as tracks. She thought the worse, what if he was kidnapped? What if he was taken? Her mind raced as she turned quickly, only to find Viktor standing over her:
"You need to work on your approach."
Genesis rolled her eyes and watched him;
"Pops, there's something going on. Digimon being kidnapped."
"Did Rich get younger?"
She lightly pushed him, "Pops, this is serious!"
He sighed and gestured for her to lead on, which resulted in yet another playful Eyeroll and leading them both to the group. Genesis knew this kid could use a tactical insight, someone who had done this hundreds of times over. Viktor was no master tactician, but he knew how to deal with things on his level, things like people, or Digimon, kidnappings.
Genesis never said anything, but she knew something's Viktor did when he left her in his home. He would vanish for months on end and come back with a beard or smelling like he hasn't showered for weeks. Mostly the latter. She approached the group and waved gently:
"Rich, how did you lose age? Leo. I see you are still a hulking lion."
The height difference was staggering to most, Leo stood several feet higher than the Russian, and likely weighed double what he did. But after the incident with Valeria, and again with a Skullscorpiomon, not much scared him in the way of Digimon.
He spoke yet again, this time to the kid;
"Who are you and why should I waste my time with your problems?"

The kid actually took his digivice out and scanned Leo and Genesis. That is the universal signof a new tamer. It made Leo reminisce back to those days a few years before and slightly itchy when he was scanned. He shook it off watched as Viktor joined the group with a smile that only an old friend could manifest. "I've been having to keep up with this one. He's more energenic now more than ever. Its been keeping me busy."
Rich put his hood up and turned away when questioned about his change. How exactly do you explain peeing on a digimon by accident? "I... I think we should talk about that some other time. Its not a story to tell before we enter a battle." Rich could feel his cheeks reddening and getting hotter. He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "Alright. Back on topic. If we are dealing with something we have to fight, I've got your back." He turned to face Viktor. "And it doesn't matter who he is. You should help him out too so you can show me how strong you've gotten since we've last met."
Leo rolled his eyes at his tamer's explanation about the aging backwards. The Coronamon held his and out and allowed a flaming sword to materialize in his grasp. "Listen kid. You just tell me where they are, and I'll take care of them. I've been itching for a good fight for awhile now. Rich can go look for the digimon that have been taken while I have some action." Leo looked over at Genesis and smiled. "What do you say? Are you with me on this one? It could be something good. Maybe an ultimate? Or even a mega if we're lucky! I'm excited either way!"
