A gaze that belied mixed feelings was Amy's reaction to Asher saying how he could make money by selling spare digivices. She knew that was a joke, but still... "That's probably not the best of ideas. Well, at least if having those things implies that you get or you turn into a monster as well. Having those be common in this place would probably be really weird." Not to say dangerous; who knew what people with less than noble intentions could do with that power.
At least Lugh seemed to be fine; enough to ease the brunette's worries. A detail caught her attention, however. "That's good. A dinosaur, though? That's an interesting thing to turn into." She wondered how that exactly looked, but decided to not to give the topic too much importance. They were talking about Lugh, after all.
Maybe Asher was just playing dumb on what belle meant just to tease her more, or maybe she was just overthinking things. In any case, it wasn't like Amelie would give up on that. "Well, telling me that monsters can't resist me is a little hard to stomach as a compliment..." Amy said, shrugging. If she had to date anybody, she definitely had a preference for human beings! "And I guess Gaston had to be handsome if he had those three blondes swooning after him. Like his fans, you know? Maybe you two actually have a lot in common." A small giggle couldn't be avoided at the realization. "Guess his biggest problem was that he had a pretty awful attitude issue." Namely, being a hopeless narcissist. Funny how his next comment was about her previous thoughts, though. For a second, the girl's face expressed slight disgust at that outcome. "I'm not desperate enough to try and date a monster. I mean, wouldn't a lot of things become... like really awkward?" Maybe love truly could be stronger than all those things, but still... the teenager wasn't getting the best mental images at the moment. "I mean, would you kiss anybody while transformed?" Maybe to fulfill some kind of weird fantasy or to joke around, but Amelie herself couldn't imagine that being commonplace!
Nodding at the notion that it took a really interesting kind of individual to settle in another, unknown land, Amy found herself agreeing with Asher's comment. "I'm already building something in here; and while I can guess why some people would prefer to have a blank slate to their current lives, I think I'm very comfortable with mine right now. What happens with the time there?" Seriously, that place almost seemed to be out of some sci-fi book or something. Well, this whole topic seemed to be; funny how reality could surpass fiction. "Guess turning into a monster must feel really weird the first time, then. With any luck, I'll eventually learn how to do it." Maybe she could eventually ask some tips to Asher. So many foreign words, yet all of them sounded interesting in their own way. "Attacks?" The brunette couldn't but ask, curiosity and a bit of dread shining in her eyes. "You mean, these things are like pokémons or something? That sounds... pretty dangerous." Hopefully, she'd be able to keep clear from any fireballs coming her way.
It was nice that they were in the same boat, at least regarding a small journey to the Digital World. "I'm sure we'll have fun. After all, what's the worst that can happen?" Famous last words. "We'll be fine." And if not, they could always exit that world. If Asher had traveled there on many occasions, that meant that the way in and out was pretty simple.
Not so simple at finding imps cute, though! "Well, maybe those don't. I have yet to see one, remember? One can get so far without pictures when it comes to mythical beings." She still had serious doubts about those being cute, though. Rats on the other hand... they brought an expression that was the closest to terror Amy had ever expressed. "I hate rats. Whoever says they're cute hasn't seen a true rat yet." Better to not to revive that experience. Even if she had kinda gotten over it, it was still a little scary. "Spirit animals" gotten through online tests probably hardly qualified to be related to what a spirit could look like, but, maybe that argument had some merit?
Pondering about that immediately took a pretty distant second place as soon as Asher said a word she had never heard before, at least in relation to these so-called "spirits". "Wait, wait, wait. Element? Are you implying that these spirits are associated with an element or something?" She paused, taking in the revelation for a couple of seconds, extremely dumbfounded. "You could've told me about that sooner, you know? Is there any way for to know what's my "element"? And while we're at it, what's yours?" Maybe it was just her, but Amelie couldn't think about a common element between an anthropomorphic fox and an amazon. At least not about one that made sense.
Becoming one of those crazy cat ladies definitely wasn't one of Amy's plans for the future. Still, the image of that possibility was fun enough to make her giggle, just as long as remained just as a very unlikely possibility. "Don't worry about that. If I ever get a pet, I'll just get one. But that's not a plan I have for now."
Hey, at least her attempt at being offended was taken in stride. The conversation quickly became an exchange of laughter, even if the brunette's cheeks ended up showing the slightest red tinge. "We'll see about that. If you're not careful, the days of your tidy sidewalk are over." She couldn't really stop laughing, not even while making those empty threats, but that was fine. All's in good fun.
But that would remain a mystery, at least for now; unconscious people couldn't really confirm or deny how their newly acquired spirit looked. At least this awful situation had a good side; as soon as Asher began to get away from the place where the spirit had previously stood, Amelie began to progressively show more signs of recovering her consciousness, those culminating on a really lazy yawn as soon as they were more or less halfway through their journey out.
The sun felt a little too bright, making the brunette blink as she tried to adjust a bit. When Amy finally became aware of her surroundings, the first thing she took note of was that she was being held by Asher, her first reaction being bright red flooding her face instantly. When had this happened? Or better yet. "W-What happened?"
Maybe it was due to the fact that she recently woke up, but her memories felt like a bit of a mess right now.

Humming while he considered just how horrible it would go to pass out digivices to anyone he wanted, the teen definitely had to agree that it was a bad idea. "I mean, everyone in the Digital World handles it alright," he commented, trying to find some sort of counter. At the same time, he pulled his digivice from his pocket, holding it in front of Amelie in a way that she could easily take it if she wanted to. Not that he particularly expected the girl to, but it was clear that he didn't care either way. "Unless it's actually supposed to belong to the person, the thing won't work. Like, you could take one off a table someplace, and if it wasn't supposed to belong to you, it's just a piece of plastic." But, Digimon were weird, and surely there were exceptions to this rule! That was a concerning thought.
Still, he had to nod while thinking about it being a bit odd that Lugh turned into a dinosaur. "I mean, it was a little dinosaur, if that matters any." No, it really didn't. But, that just furthered the curiosity on what made someone turn into their sprite. Was Lugh just particularly dinosaur-like? What did that say about Asher? On second thought, the redhead hoped that sprites were absolutely random.
Unable to contain a playful smirk, the redhead looked to the side to avoid it being too obvious. "That just means you'd have to be pretty enough that humans and monsters liked you, though, right?" There had to be something wrong with that mindset. Could it be taken as an insult at all? Asher wasn't seeing the potential of it, but for some reason, he couldn't help but feel a pang of concern at the chance that the girl could twist it. On the topic of twisting things... "You're not comparing my attitude to his, are you?" Asher half-joked, half-legitimately questioned if that was potential to be an insult. Not that he'd dwell on it too much right now, either way. "Depends on the monster, I'd guess," he shrugged, mulling over strange monster-human romance combinations. "And depends on what kind of monster you turn into, the teen added, trying to remind that Amelie was subjected to the same awkwardness of being able to turn into weird creatures. "Considering I turn into women, I'd really prefer not to kiss anyone like that." Not that men and women probably felt any difference in interactions of that sort. But, most of his transformations weren't even really human enough for that! How did crows kiss, for instance? That was just too complicated! "Unless I'm trying to traumatize someone." But, who? Himself? Because that seemed the most likely case!
Slight curiosity was sparked at the thought that Amelie was working on her life here. Sure, it was no surprise, but it made the young man interested to see what she intended with her future. That sounded like a better conversation for a different time, though. "You can spend a week there then come back here, only to find out you were only gone for a day as far as this world's concerned. I think that would mean time's moving faster there." Yet another weird concept to grasp, unless someone visited the place! "So, we could spend an entire day there, and I bet nobody would even realize we were gone." That concept also had its drawbacks. If something bad happened in the Digital World, how long would it take for someone to actually realize that something was wrong?
"It's definitely weird," the actor agreed, with a smile, "but I bet you'll be a natural at it." And, if the brunette wasn't, Asher would hopefully be able to help her out a little. But, had he seriously forgotten to mention the attacking aspect? Maybe Asher had been avoiding that topic before! "Pokemon are actually-" huh. Pokemon. Digimon. Maybe there was a connection there. "-really similar, in a way." Battle pets, definitely. At least from a Tamer's perspective! "They attack in the same way. Kind of." At least that gave a bit of an idea of what Amelie should expect! "It can be dangerous, but I could say the same about anything." It's just that there was a large difference between the dangers of accidentally breaking a glass and someone shooting fireballs! "Just don't practice any of them indoors; you'll be fine." Or, uh, at least hopefully. There was no way that Asher was going to answer what could go wrong on any account, when the Digital World was in question, so he only nodded in agreement.
If only Asher had pictures of all of the weird Digimon that he'd seen, though. Karin and Isaac had made it pretty clear that taking pictures that other people might be able to see was a bad idea. And, when the redhead didn't bother using a lock screen on his phone, it could only lead to bad things happening. So, Asher really only had proof of Whiskers existing! For now, at least. "I'm sure you'll see mythical imp monsters eventually, anyway." Or not! But, from what Asher had gathered, Isaac and Elliot had been pretty much everywhere! Looking over Amelie's face, the teen waved a hand in dismissal, hoping to settle her down. Okay! Rats were a definite no! "I get this feeling that I don't want to see your definition of a rat." Not with that expression! What, were they literal sewer monsters in her mind? Asher hadn't really seen that many large, or gross looking, ones!
Man, Asher was really dropping the ball when it came to teaching things! "Oh, yeah. But, they're more like Themes than actual elements." Which was really annoying, actually. "If I tell you everything at once, it's just going to be confusing," he tried to defend. Asher certainly wouldn't have been able to remember half of the lecture, if he learned everything in twenty minutes! "Your totem might hint at it. Or, you'll know when you use your spirits for the first time." Thinking on it, Asher still had never looked for text on one of his totems. "Or, you can do what I did and have no idea until an uptight lizard tells you." Or don't! That was probably a terrible decision on Asher's part! For a moment, there was hesitance on his answer to what his element was, a small groan dying in his throat. "It's Nightmare," he answered after a few seconds. "I can only kind of see it, though." Maybe they were just Asher's nightmares. What would happen if he became entirely alright with turning into women, for instance? Unless it was entirely to do with their Family type.
It was a good sign that Amelie was alright with joking about becoming a crazy animal lady! That would have been an impossible grave to dig himself out of! And, with joking turning into laughter about garbage, it definitely felt like Asher was safe from offending anyone for the time being! "I think that's a risk I'm willing to take!"
But, what about the risk that came with hunting for spirits? The redhead was certainly feeling regret about letting someone else take that risk. With the brunette in his arms, Asher tried to take whatever paths he could that didn't involve walking on overly uneven surfaces. What was he going to do about all of this? And, what if the police found them as they were trying to leave? There would be a million problems in that case!
On the bright side, Amelie being unconscious wasn't one of them! While the yawn hadn't gained too much attention beyond a glance, feeling the girl moving had definitely succeeded in making Asher notice that she was waking up. "Thank god," the spirit user breathed, muscles notably relaxing. Shifting his hold slightly, to accommodate for Amelie's own movements, eyes peered down at the girl. "You passed out after getting your spirit," he started, giving the most basic information as possible. "I didn't want you staying on that car, so," voice trailed off, debating what information was just too much information for the time being. "Is that okay? You weren't waking up, so I couldn't really ask if it was alright to pick you up." Was that seriously one of his concerns right now, of all things? Face dusted with a pink blush as the teen realized just how dumb it was to be concerned about that right now. Focus on the actually important things! "How do you feel?"

Maybe Asher was right; maybe Amy was just fabricating these assumptions out of thin air. She felt a little dumb when she tried to argue about something she pretty much had no knowledge about. Why was the brunette being so foolish? Probably caught in the heat of the moment. "Well, if you say it..." Frowning at his statements, she focused her gaze in the digivice in front of her for a brief moment before giving a quick glance to her own, currently on her pocket. "Wonder how the entity that gives them away decides who to choose. I mustn't be just dumb luck, right?" Otherwise, it would just be a matter of time before one of those devices fell into the wrong hands. Then all bets were off.
Why were they still talking about Lugh? Well, in all honesty, for Amelie... dinosaurs were interesting. Long-dead gigantic animals were the closest humanity had to real mythical creatures, and that was awesome, in a way. Still, beyond that mention and a slight nod of recognition, she didn't display much interest on the matter. It was Lugh who they were talking about, after all.
Well, maybe the redhead was right on monsters liking her being a compliment; after all, even if the monsters themselves were potentially ugly, the brunette couldn't deny that being a show of good taste at the very least. "Well, yeah. You're right, even if I'd be really thankful if my first venture on the Digital World doesn't end up with a monster mob coming behind me because they want to have a date or something." That'd be pretty bad! Luckily, the topic made a dramatic shift towards one Amy felt way more comfortable about; teasing Asher, of course. "Comparing your attitudes would be plain mean, to be honest. I'm sure Gaston wouldn't have explained an almost total stranger what you have explained me about a whole new world and its possibilities, for one."
In all honesty, Amelie preferred to not to think about human-monster romance; it was probably too fast for that! After all, she was still wrapping her head around the concept of monsters in first place. "Well, at least an anthropomorphic fox and an amazon are more or less human in anatomy; imagine if I became a dog and tried to kiss anybody like that? That wouldn't really work, would it? And that'd be the same case if it was... the other way around, but I guess that's what you're referring to." The second idea wasn't that bad, except for... "Traumatizing people with kisses? You sure you aren't Lugh wearing an Asher suit?" The brunette couldn't be blamed about that joke. It was just too easy! She couldn't even resist giggling at it some, either.
How time worked in that world made Amy wonder yet again. The implications of time being faster there were really interesting. A spark of curiosity shone in her eyes, thinking of the possibilities; some practical uses for that weren't really hard to guess, for sure! "So, I can go a Saturday there, spend the whole week, then go back and it'll be Sunday? A single week over there would be almost two months, too..." Some serious food for thought.
While she appreciated the words of encouragement, it wasn't hard to guess for the brunette that her first time becoming one of those things would be a figurative train wreck. For now, she was way more interested in the theory behind. Attacking was... an interesting concept! She listened raptly, thinking about its implications; it meant that these beings had combat and survival (or predation) as one of their main priorities, but which animal didn't? She didn't swallow that argument about "everything can be dangerous", though. "I'm sure I'll have an easier time surviving another chess match against you than dodging some fireballs if you ask me." His commentary about not trying anything funny indoors was like adding insult to injury, but... it was rather funny, in a way; enough to make her snicker, at least.
Funny how all this talk about monsters and how they could look made her more and more interested. It was like falling in a trap, wasn't it? The more she knew, the more she wanted to know. "Hope I eventually get to meet them all. And survive, of course." A stark contrast to her stance about rats. Those things were just plain... gross. "You don't. Not going into detail on that."
Luckily, a far more entertaining topic loomed ahead. Elements, huh? Or themes, as the redhead had called them. So... the digimons didn't even have to have something in common? That was interesting. "So, it's like they're related, but they aren't related? I didn't know the guys who created those could be bureaucrats too." Next thing she was going to hear was that they could have the same name and be entirely different beings! At least she had gotten some clues on discerning which could potentially be her element, and Asher's own experience about it; what she could say? Was too mean on her part to snicker at how he had found it? Maybe, even though she couldn't resist.
She began to think about the possibilities of her spirits' element until... Asher's own came into light. Least to say, Amy was completely perplexed. "Wait a second. Nightmare? Is that even an element? What a fox and an amazon have to do with nightmares, even? Unless they're somebody's mother-in-law, I don't see the connection..." Thinking about it, now the possibilities were far wider. "That also means they can be... really abstract concepts, don't they? And I was thinking they were simple stuff like fire and water..."
At least the two could take the jabs at each other just as what they were; simple attempts to tease the other; funny how, by the way they were conversing right now, it almost seemed like they were old friends rather than rather newish acquaintances. Maybe that was just how Asher behaved with anybody who wasn't a rabid fan of him. Who knew; what it mattered right now was that, even though they were treading through a strange, dangerous and pretty fetid part of Shibuya, Amy felt... oddly at ease.
Said feeling seemed to surge back as soon as she regained her wits, well, not taking into account that she was blushing rather intensely at the moment! But, at least she had woken up in Asher's arms instead of on a hospital bed; that was definitely something she had to be thankful about. Given the young adult's story, who knew what might've happened after she had gotten that spirit. "Thank you." The brunette's voice was a bit coarse, but those words resonated earnestly... just in synchrony with the intensity of her blush rising for a few seconds. "I'm okay, besides this killer headache I have. I almost feel like my mind was scrambled with a pretty huge spoon or something."
Amy regarded her surroundings; they were still in Entertainment District so they probably had to get away from this place. Hearing the sirens came next. "Seems like we need to get away from this place as soon as possible." Her voice took a surprisingly serious quality; well, she knew for sure she didn't want to get detained or... arrested. "Let me see if I can walk on my own. Any ideas on how to get away from this place without anybody noticing us? I'm all ears"

Noticing the frown fall on Amelie's face, the redhead found his logic faltering. "I mean, there might be cases where I'm wrong," he admitted, softly. Resisting any urge to initiate physical contact in an attempt to make the girl feel better, Asher shoved his hands into his jacket pockets. Acquaintances, often, were not as accepting of being touched! "I've wondered that, too," the young man hummed, thoughtfully, "if you ever find out, I have a few questions for them." Like, why does he turn into women? Because, that felt like a really important inquiry.
The idea of a mob of fan-mons coming after Amelie was hilarious, though! A small snicker escaped the teen's lips, imagining such a scene. "As long as the train doesn't hit on you, it'll be fine." And if it did? Well, that would be an awkward ride home! Luckily, so far, Asher hadn't encountered a Trailmon that seemed too into the human body. At least they couldn't be as awful as Gaston, and it seemed that Asher wasn't, either! "Of course Gaston wouldn't," the actor chimed, "he doesn't have the magic carpet or a genie, to show you 'a whole new world.'" Oh no. Do not go from Beauty and the Beast to Aladdin!
But, did new worlds have to involve romancing weird monsters as weird monsters? Asher wasn't even sure how yellow foxes kissed, and he certainly didn't want to find out! Dogs, on the other hand, were easy to imagine trying to give kisses to people. "As long as dog-you keeps your tongue out of their mouth, it's usually kind of cute for dogs to 'kiss' people, isn't it?" That aside, as actual romantic coupling? No. That was just weird. Just like the next concept! "You caught me," the teen sighed, a little too dramatically, "Lugh's super secret spirit evolution is me." Or not! That would be one of the lamest evolutions ever! And, that would definitely cause an identity crisis for the young actor!
Amelie seemed to be pretty good at math, too. A week would be about a month, wouldn't it? That would be easy to justify as a vacation or camping trip, or something! "That's exactly it!" Oh, good! That explanation hadn't been as difficult to understand as Asher had expected!
And she appeared to be catching onto the whole attacking idea, even! Or, at least, there weren't too many questions on it! "Not if you turn into something immune to fire," he suggested, playfully. Was that likely? Not really. But it was hard to say! "I'd rather play chess than, uh," he paused, thinking about the subject, "risking hurting you." That'd just be bad! On a million different levels! "On the thought of 'not in the house', don't test your evolutions for the first time indoors. From what I've seen, they can get kind of big." Nobody wanted to risk crumbling their house because they turned into a giant snake!
"Of course you'll survive," Asher insisted, optimistically. Equally optimistic was the addition of, "unlike me, if I met your rat-monsters." No thank you! Asher liked the idea of somewhat cute, Dumbo-eared rats that could fit in his palm. Nothing larger!
How each creature fell under a theme was really a mystery to Asher. "Yeah, Digimon don't always make sense." But, either did Asher! After all, who else would stumble through their evolutions, without knowing what they were doing, with such ease? Nobody could even begin to blame Amelie for snickering about how Asher found out about his element. It really would be funny, from an outsider's perspective. And, even a little humorous from the redhead's. "Yeah, that's what I thought, too! I haven't even met someone with an actual element for their element!" Digimon just didn't make sense! "I can kind of see how a giant, muscle-woman could be nightmarish," he added, in some form of defense. "Got nothing for bright yellow foxes, though." Maybe that was more along the lines of it's ability to sneak around and appear at alarming moments? Or, Asher was thinking too hard into it.
"So far, they're all in the same Family type, I guess, with Nightmare in the name," he tried to explain, already cringing mentally at the idea of explaining families and types to someone. "I figure that has to have something to do with it, too." Definitely! "I feel like each new one fits a little better somehow. Maybe they're just escalating from not-very-scary to unable-to-sleep-from-Nightmares?" Or, maybe theorizing like that would end up seriously upsetting him if it turned out to be true! He didn't want to jinx it! Nobody wanted to become a literal nightmare! "Your guess is as good as mine, though." Maybe an outsider would have an easier time figuring out just how a fox fit the theme!
Regular old elements would have been way easier to figure out. "I wish they were that simple," the spirit user chuckled. Maybe he would have gotten Earth, then? So far, Yatagaramon was the only thing that wouldn't have necessarily fit that element in any way! "For all I know, joy could be an element." Wouldn't that be a pleasant theme to have, though? But, what would even fit that line? Probably something creepy-happy. Nevermind!
The conversations had been pretty nice so far! Asher wished that more of his interactions with people would have gone this way. Nothing was better than talking to someone like they were actual friends! Otherwise, the Garbagemon jokes would have been received, and possibly delivered, far worse. Given, the recent situations had sufficiently damaged the playful tone that had been set, but with Amelie coming back around, maybe it would be possible to return to such a casual state of mind soon enough.
Especially since the brunette wasn't upset about being carried around. One major concern was gone now! "That might just be the spirit's way of saying hello?" Well, that didn't sound like a welcoming time! But, neither did a crushed car or mysterious text. "You'll probably feel better once we're out of here and you can sit down someplace." In a real chair, for instance, and not just in Asher's arms. Judging from how badly the girl was blushing, this trip surely wasn't going to help her head any!
Stopping on as flat of a surface as possible, the young man began to carefully lower the arm that steadied her legs. Still, he kept one arm against the brunette's back until he was sure that she wasn't about to fall again. "Just let me know if you feel lightheaded," was the only request he could think of.
As far as how they were going to get out of here unseen? That as hard to say. "Easier said than done," he mumbled, trying to go over any options they had. The most obvious one was trying to hide if anyone saw them. But, that was also the easiest way to fail at escaping unnoticed! "I doubt turning into a giant bird, even to use it's abilities, is a good idea," he admitted, while thinking aloud. Sure, a feathery haze would get them out of the area unseen. But that would raise questions for the media on what had caused such an event when the police arrived. "And, the fox can camouflage in shadows. But, it can't take anyone else like that." And Asher certainly wasn't going to leave Amelie alone to deal with the repercussions of trespassing!
Wincing slightly at the thought, another option came to mind. "Probably a bad idea to see what your spirits can do right now, isn't it?" What if they were the key to escaping unseen? Or, what if it turned her into an enormous Godzilla-esque monster that was far more obvious than anyone could imagine? This just screamed bad! Especially since the redhead still wasn't sure what happened to the car the spirit was on! "No, sorry. Awful plan," Asher shook his head, trying to dismiss all the pessimistic possibilities, "I'm not great at planning things through." Surely, that would come as no surprise! "You don't think we'll luck out and be able to just walk out of here before anyone sees us, do you?"

Was Asher trying to make her feel better? It certainly felt like that, given how quickly he had changed his opinion. There was no need for that, but discussing the topic was pointless anyway, so... better to just leave things as they were. Still, she couldn't but wonder what kind of questions would Asher ask, given he ever found the invisible hand that gave out the digivices... well, actually, she could imagine at least one of those. Inadvertently, imagining that scene made her snicker.
Being chased by rabid fans was definitely not okay, though! For a split second, Amy came to feel sympathy for her peer, even if that sentiment died rather shortly. "I think I wouldn't survive if a train hit me." She said, faking a serious expression; yup, she had twisted his words just because playing along with them would be really awkward. Regrets? None. The sudden change from Gaston to Aladdin made her quirk an eyebrow, though. "Asher, that was awful." That joke was just so bad that before she noticed it, the brunette was giggling. Oh God; seemed that it was so bad she actually found it funny.
"That's definitely not what I had in mind." After all, a dog "kiss" wasn't the same than a dog kiss, or even to the former imagined in a romantic scenario. But... she preferred to spare herself from discussing that, so she decided not to delve further into the topic. And instead, decided to focus on the next bit of silly fun that ensued. Asher and Lugh being the same person was definitely something that'd weird her out greatly, but she couldn't avoid laughing at the mere implication... and rather heartily, at that. "Guess I'm a pretty great detective, what I can say."
A slight, yet earnest smile formed on her face as soon as Asher began to utter those compliments. Hey, she wasn't immune to flattery, even if it only due to simple math; in moments like those, Amy believed that learning about the Digital World wasn't that hard. It just would take... a lot of time to get used to, in all honesty. Or not; attacks seemed to be a way more abstract and complex concept. The mere fact that she could come across things immune to fire was enough to make her stare a bit surprised at Asher. What was the full potential of these things? The possible answer both excited and scared her.
Just like the very next words that the redhead muttered. She didn't know why but, for some reason, the teenager found herself blushing at those words. Funny, huh? At least the awkwardness Amy had felt began to ease down as she was taught of the safety measures; a new form messing with the structure of her apartment would surely be something undesirable, prompting her to nod at the comment. She knew for sure she'd probably stutter if she tried to talk anyway.
At least things went back to normal as soon as Asher joked he wouldn't survive an encounter with "her rats". The smile went back to Amelie's face, and she even couldn't resist to let out an entertained snicker. "I think you would survive. I mean, even if they're ugly and as big as a small cat, rats don't eat humans, right? Maybe you could be able to befriend them if you tried." Even if having one of those following you on the street would probably cause a small commotion, but those were details, right? At the very least, she was sure she wouldn't be anywhere near him!
Better to shift the conversation from normal animals to mythical creatures. Digimon not making sense seemed like a mantra she'd get to repeat a lot, Amy felt. "Guess that they have a slew of surprises in store for me, then?" All of them coming from an unknown element that had really high chances of being... something really abstract. Funny how, even if this topic seemed like it would just confuse her even further, it also contributed to pique her curiosity. Humming at his answer, it took her some moments to talk again. "Well, at least there's hope my digimons do make sense. What were the elements of the other people you have met? Could you find the relation between them and their digimons or... was it just like with yours?" Maybe Asher was just the odd one out and the other guys who could turn into monsters had elements easier to associate to their forms than him. For some reason... that wouldn't surprise her; after all, how a yellow fox could be considered a nightmare?
Them all sharing a "family type" made some sense, though. It wasn't hard to guess that families were some form of taxon, just like in normal biology? Probably! And that actually was very interesting; the prospect of digimons being classified just like animals, even if in way more... exaggerated ways, it seemed. "Progressively scary, huh? That can maybe work out, but... being scared of foxes or big, muscly women is probably relative to the person. Wonder if those spirits were made with the specific fears of one person in mind, or if there was some kind of consciousness behind them." That actually made her think a bit; this topic was surprisingly interesting. "Maybe you'll find the answer to those questions once you find all your spirits. Until then, it's probably a nice topic to talk over a cup of tea." She hadn't had a problem with mostly baseless speculation, but the fact remained that... it was mostly baseless.
Still, the idea of joy being an element was a funny one, for sure... and now she just hoped she hadn't jinxed it with those words.
Amelie would probably have to find out later if Joy was her spirit element, though. Right now, she was too busy trying to stand up on her own and feeling hopelessly dazed. "If that's their way of saying hello, I don't wanna know how they react when they're angry." That was a valid concern, right? On the other hand, that might mean her spirits were pretty powerful, or at least that they could cause headaches at will. Was that something good? She wasn't sure.
Nodding at his words, the brunette slowly began to test her footing. Unsurprisingly, it was way harder than usual; her legs shook a bit at first, but she eventually could stand up. "Well, this is a beginning, I guess." Now what mattered, how to get out of this place in one piece? Well, maybe in one piece wasn't the word. How to get out of this place without trekking to the police station first? There, way better. Amy began to think about the situation, and she was coming off a bit slowly at it, probably how scrambled she felt her head. "Well, let's see. If you think that any of your evolutions aren't a good idea, I believe you, so... the options that remain are..." The first one was a rather obvious no. "Using my map-thingy for the first time, right here? That's probably a really bad idea, I agree. Maybe as a desperate measure, but I don't think that's going to end well... like at all."
Second option! That one seemed to be way more doable. "Then, we can to try and evade the police, or just hide off somewhere until things calm down. I mean, it's really doubtful that they'll inspect every building, right? For now, we should try to walk away from the direction the siren's coming and try to get out before anybody notices us. Not the best of plans, but I guess that's good enough? If things get complicated, we can search for a place to hide or something."
Was that going with Asher's idea of walking out and hoping to luck out? Probably; but it honestly was what she perceived as their best bet. And so... she began to walk again. "Guess that at the very least we'll have a funny anecdote to tell if we get out of this without being caught."
And at least at the beginning, the plan seemed to be functioning. The sound of the sirens began to become a distant echo rather than an immediate pressure, making her sigh with relief. They were just a little away from the district's exit. Somehow... this had been rather simple? Not taking weird forces into account, that is.

For several seconds, Asher found himself staring at Amelie, lips twitching to a questioning half-smile. Was... was that a joke about the train? How hadn't he expected something like that? And, a better question: how was Amelie so good at keeping a straight face? Not that she maintained it for too long! "It wasn't that bad! Was it?" Grin returned to the young man's face, as he resisted laughing. He could have argued that her train joke was just as bad!
"No, but it has to be the better image of the two!" After all, nobody wanted to think about a dog in a legitimate relationship! It was just weird! Especially because, in the Digital World, there were surely situations that perfectly explained how dogs would kiss! Then again, the Digital World also entirely rationalized the possibility of two people actually being the same person. "You are!" Nodding, the redhead found himself chuckling at the entire idea. Laughter really was contagious, wasn't it? At least there was no way it was actually true! Asher and Lugh had been in the same place, at the same time, too many times for it to be plausible!
It seemed like Amelie was getting a pretty decent grasp on the subject, though! Which was really good, considering Asher wasn't the best at explaining any of this! But, hey, at least he was trying. An innocent smile slipped onto the teen's face, noticing that Amy seemed to be blushing. Was that a good or a bad sign? It was probably best to pretend not to notice! Not that there was too much time to think about it, when there were more conversations to be had!
And images, such as giant cat-rats! "So, they're like the size of an opossum?" That gave for a decent image! Then again, rats and opossums didn't seem too different in appearance, so maybe that was why it was so easy to imagine. "Opossums and I don't really get along. But, rats are smarter, right?" Could they be cute if they were actually pets, though? That seemed possible. But not really a possibility that the redhead would like to explore! Leave it to someone with a much greater love of all things living!
Giving a quick nod, Asher found it impossible to deny that Amy was going to be dealing with a lot of surprises. "I still learn new things almost every time I go to the Digital World." Like how a mushroom looks while wearing a wedding dress! Okay, so maybe that wasn't an important thing to learn, but it was still learning something! Trying to focus more on the question, though, the young man hummed thoughtfully. "I think Lugh's was something fire-based. Turned into a firey, red dinosaur," he began, giving the most obvious example. "Another was Order, which," Asher paused, thinking over the brief moments that he'd seen Elliot's evolutions, "I don't know what Order is, but I wouldn't peg it as an angry gargoyle monster." That seemed fair! Didn't it? Then again, how would one personify order? Asher likely was the worst candidate for figuring that one out! "And another guy has two different elements. First one's Chaos, which I think makes sense. I mean, he turns into multi-headed snakes and that dragon I talked about earlier. They seem pretty chaotic." How did Yasyamon fit in, though? It was probably too deep to figure out without a computer or book. "His second's progress, and all I've seen was an angry vampire-looking thing with long arms and a mask, from it. No idea what that one's about." In fact, trying to connect all the dots was starting to give him a headache! "So, I guess mine isn't the most abstract out there." Unless Amelie could put her detective's work to good use and figure out how Progress created NeoDevimon!
Though, maybe it was just another thing to chalk up to the whole 'digimon don't make sense' thing. "Are you saying you wouldn't be afraid if a giant, muscle-woman came charging after you?" Asher half-joked. Only half because... well, okay, that could be scary! A giant, muscle-anything would be terrifying if it were stampeding toward him! Foxes were a lot less concerning, though. What kind of person came up with an evolution line like this? "Maybe! Theorizing is kind of fun, though," he admitted, cheerfully. The young man didn't want to admit that he was in absolutely no hurry to find any more of his spirits for the time being! But, coming up with random reasons for things could be entertaining!
It was a lot less entertaining, when coming up for a reason for anything was far more urgent. What was Asher supposed to even say if they were caught by the police? This was a time when it was best just to focus on the present, and the definites, it seemed.
Keeping a hand a few inches from Amelie's back, Asher remained prepared in case the girl couldn't stand on her own. So far, so good, though! Or, at least, from what he could tell! "No, you probably don't," the spirit user was quick to agree. Angered spirits were not a fun time! And, he didn't want to have to try to settle the spirit down! Or clean up after it. Who knew what each spirit did when it was unhappy!
"Careful," the teen murmured, still watching to make sure that the brunette wasn't going to fall down. Listening to the response to the first option, Asher gave a small smile, "then, let's hope we don't get desperate." After all, the redhead knew far too well not to push someone into using an evolution that they were uncomfortable with! It could be flat-out dangerous! The next option was the only one remaining, of course. "Sounds good enough for me," he hummed, with a nod. It wasn't like they had many other choices! Anything actually practical left them with only human-like decisions!
Making sure to match pace with Amelie, the spirit user continued to ensure that she maintained solid footing. After whatever had happened back there, he didn't want to risk feeling at fault for her getting hurt! As the sirens began to fade, Asher threw a glance over his shoulder. "Hope they didn't find anything," he found himself commenting, quietly. So far, there weren't any terrible sounds, so he had to assume that the police hadn't come across anything too strange! But, it was best to continue focusing on the present! Which didn't involve being hunted down by police, from the looks of things! "How're you feeling?" After collecting a spirit and fainting, it only made sense that Asher was going to be concerned still! And, perhaps, he was trying to ignore the fact that this was still just too simple. That had to be paranoia talking!

The truth was the that the only way Amelie would've laughed at that joke was for it to be pretty bad, so... she nodded, still holding back some giggles. "Well, I'll admit it could've been worse, but it was pretty bad." A smile soon came across her face. There was nothing wrong with bad jokes, after all.
Well, except that they were bad and that they could be good, but that was a minor detail.
What she could say, at least that was a more pleasant topic than to imagine dogs kissing; the mere thought made her shiver. Ewwww. "Totally. Better to just... not to think about it." At least they wouldn't linger too much on that. Lame jokes and crazy theories were the order of the day, it seemed! Truth to be told, Asher and Lugh being the same person would be... really, really unsettling. Not to say that she would currently be mad at him for that time at the park. Oh well.
The really unpleasant topics didn't seem like they wanted to give up, though. Why they had to talk about that? "I've never seen an opossum directly but... they're more or less like this." She separated her hands, doing a rough measuring motion of their size while making a vaguely disgusted expression. "You know? I'm beginning to think you're asking me these questions just to test how much I can bear them. Don't you want a picture or something? Maybe that'll sate your curiosity." Half sarcastically, half jokingly, but at least her point was made.
She found herself nodding quietly at his next statement, though. She knew for sure that she had to expect at the very least a fair amount of surprises; it was a new world what they were talking about, after all! Elements still proved to be an interesting concept. She could associate anything that breathed fire with fire, of course. Finding the rest of them as the odd ones wasn't hard; Chaos, Order and Progress were concepts not easy to figure out, even though she could find some slight patterns if she stretched some of those concepts just a bit.
Humming a bit pensively, it took her some time to respond. "Guess I could entertain some baseless theories. I don't know if the Digital World is superstitious, but gargoyles in architecture are said to ward off evil, harmful or unwanted spirits. So... I guess one could say that they keep the order of the buildings they guard? And... maybe this one gargoyle is just pissed off because what it was supposed to protect was destroyed or something. That'd be pretty sad." Losing the reason of your existence would be pretty rough for sure, even though Amy knew that that one probably didn't apply to digital beings.
At least Chaos made some sense; having one unhealthy number of a particular body part sounded pretty chaotic, especially if those were not arranged in a particular order. Nodding at that, she focused what probably was the hardest of the four; Progress? "No idea how vampire guy is be related to progress, though. Aren't they supposed to be rather... old? Maybe this one looks futuristic or something? That'd make some sense, I guess." The whole train of thought was hard to concoct, but talking about beings she hadn't ever seen using arguments a person in such situation would use was probably erroneous. Still, she wasn't losing anything by just giving it a shot, right? At least speculating was entertaining.
Not fun was the prospect of being trampled by a giant lady, for sure. "I mean, I can be afraid of a lot of things, but if we're talking about nightmares, I could think of things way ahead of that line than a giant, muscled woman; I mean, that multi-headed snake or the dragon with a lot of eyes sound way more nightmarish than a woman on steroids." She reasoned. "Maybe it's just me, but I'd be way more afraid of something I'd struggle to comprehend than something that I can easily associate with something that exists in here? At least it makes sense for me..." Maybe she was just trying too hard at this. As far as she knew, these things didn't care much about logic. She nodded at Asher saying that wondering about this was fun, though. A funny, if futile exercise.
Right now, however, they had more pressing worries. Namely, the police and... Amelie's slightly shaky steps. What she could say, expecting to walk normally after what had some time before was probably a ludicrous proposition, but the brunette was stubborn and being held in Asher's arms was really awkward for her. But at least they were managing at the moment. That was good! The teenager was glad that the two agreed on the use of her spirits being an awful idea; it probably was, and the other options didn't seem to be all that bad, honestly.
Funny how after his call for her to be careful, Amy seemed to trip with a crack in the concrete; she lost her balance for a couple of seconds, but could regain it right afterward. "Thanks for jinxing it, Asher." She said right away, obviously jokingly. At least they had a semblance of a plan right now. It wasn't the most complex or the most well-thought, but simple sometimes was what did the job the best. And things seemed to have calmed down right now, so it was probably the best moment to just try to get away.
It'd take them a while, especially with given Amelie's less-than-optimal pace, but the duo was making genuine progress at exiting the perimeter. "I think they won't find anything." Or at least, not anything that could associate them with what had happened; that should be good enough. "Maybe I shouldn't say it this earlier, but I think we're safe." For a somebody who looked to be rather carefree, the redhead surely worried quite a bit on the right situation. That was interesting; with a smile, she tried to wave away the question about how she felt. "I'll be fine, don't worry. I just need a place to sit, a cup of tea and some rest and I'll be as good as new, I think."
Surprisingly, that seemed to be the truth. Fifteen or so minutes later, both of them could see traces of the yellow tape yet again, prompting a relieved smile to trace over Amy's features. "Seems like we did it. Let's get out of this place." And, after making a small, pensive pause. "And hope I never get to return to it."

Bad jokes or not, at least it had Amelie laughing! That's really all that mattered! Asher would have to try to remember that awful jokes didn't always receive awful reactions from the girl. Then again, if he actually tried to find ways to slip in things like that, they'd become far less entertaining in the long run. What a dilemma!
Along with subjects that were best left in the past: Dog kisses, and Asher and Lugh being the same person. The teen nodded quickly at the idea to not think about the subject. Some things really were better to never theorize about! Or, at least, not any further than they already had!
Watching the hand motions, Asher let out a small hum of debate. "Yeah, I think they could be about the same size." Then again, opossums came in a lot of different sizes, ranging from utterly-tiny to really-fat-raccoon in size! Seemingly called out on the subject, the actor gave an innocent smile. A really poorly feigned innocent smile, at that! "What? No." That surely didn't sound convincing! More seriously, though, he had to add, "I'll just imagine them as really gross opossums. Then neither of us need to see pictures, and have nightmares about rats ." Rats, of all things, for nightmares to be about? That didn't sound too fantastic!
Amelie's ability to connect Gargoyles to Order, though, was kind of fantastic. Yellow eyes remained unblinking for the duration of her theory, trying to process the entire concept. "Huh. That could actually work," he admitted, slowly, while still wrapping his head around the idea. Was it likely? That... was hard to say. It was entirely possible! The Digital World was full of so many ideas and concepts pulled from this reality that it really couldn't be dismissed as impossible! "So," he began, curiously, "do you just like gargoyles, or are you secretly a genius?" Not that it took a genius to know something about gargoyles, but it felt more fun to phrase it that way! The teen was more curious what could have led to that random bit of knowledge! Then again, it was very likely just that. An absolutely random piece of information, picked up from the internet or something!
Progress was still a fairly impossible thing for the teen to figure out. Staring up to the sky, Asher attempted to fully remember what NeoDevimon even looked like. "If by futuristic means having scarily long arms," the redhead hummed, playfully. "I had a pretty bad headache when I saw him. Gotta admit, I don't remember much past a weird mask, some wings, and awkward arms." Hey, at least Asher could even remember that! Spirit-induced headaches were nothing to joke about! Then again, headaches hadn't been the only concern at that point.
Similar to how buff women trampling people apparently wasn't a concern of Amy's. "I think most people are more afraid of things they can't understand." Which was probably why the world had so many issues! But, Asher certainly had no interest to go that deep into the subject! "I think I'm the opposite, though," he admitted, cheerfully, "if I know it's something that's possibly real, then there's actually a reason to be worried. Could be that I've heard the stories of that same dragon crashing into things while learning to fly, though. Makes him a lot less scary." Let's face it, it's really hard to take anything seriously when you're picturing them smashing face-first into a tree or sturdy building! "Can't speak for the snake, though. I haven't actually seen what it looks like, in person." A name and vague descriptor was all the teen had to go on for that one!
It was unfortunate that there were more pressing matters, now, than to be able to discuss weird monsters and theories. Such as Amelie tripping over the sidewalk! Taking a quick step forward, the young man placed out a hand in case she needed to be caught, but retracted it when it was clear that the brunette had herself handled. "I warned you!" Asher teased back, with a small laugh. Of course, there wouldn't be any laughter if the girl had actually fallen, but since she hadn't, it was totally okay!
Continuing on, it seemed like they were probably in the clear. Giving a nod at the optimism, the teen released a small exhale of relief. "Good. I really didn't want to explain any of this to the police." Or, really, find a convincing lie for the police. Because nobody was going to believe the truth! In fact, it would probably get them in more trouble! He also didn't want to go with the worst of his personal plans, which had been to turn into a giant crow and cover the area in feathers. Asher really needed a tactician to walk around with him at all times, to prevent stupid ideas like that from ever coming to fruition! Throwing a glance over his shoulder, the spirit user also found himself incredibly glad that whatever the force was that crumpled a car hadn't followed them. Or, if it had, it was certainly doing so in a quiet manner! Best not to jinx it.
"Do you live near here? Or, just planning on heading to the nearest cafe again?" Looking forward, the weight on Asher's shoulders began to lift as soon as yellow became even slightly visible. Oh, good. They were going to get out of this just fine. Maybe, once they passed the tape threshold, Asher would mention the fate of that vehicle. Or, even, the digital words? He was still torn on if Amelie would even want to know about those things! Some people truly did prefer to remain oblivious!
Giving a nod, he continued to match the young woman's pace toward the exit. "What, you mean you didn't like the fun, new smells?" Asher joked, in an attempt to keep the mood light. After all, any potentially stressful moment needed to be relieved with something. Even if it was with an odd sense of humor!

After rolling her eyes, Amelie's expression conveyed that she wasn't really believing Asher. Either he was a very bad liar, or was trying to pull out some kind of joke. The brunette's reaction wouldn't change in either case, though. "Good. I'm glad we can finally leave that topic behind." Truth to be told, they had lingered on it way more than what she'd have liked to.
Asher's own reaction on her small piece about gargoyles made her feel a little... embarrassed. She hadn't expected the flattery. "Or I might actually have chosen architecture as my major. I know I'll sound like a huge nerd, but I really like the gothic style, and gargoyles are a decent part of it." Not like there was something wrong with being a nerd or anything of the like, but this was the first time she spoke with somebody not in her family about her career. Wonder how he'd take that.
Now that she thought about it, it was curious how she had unveiled that bit of information while talking about the reasons why a certain form made sense within a spirit element. Who would have wondered that; regarding progress, however... "Maybe?" She noted, thinking about the vague description she had been given. "'Normal' vampires usually look just like humans but paler and with sharp fangs. Your depiction sounds way different than that, so I'm not sure. Guess you should give it a second peek to know for sure. Until then... probably, probably not."
The topic was interesting, but the evident lack of information both parties had about it didn't help much to solve it. Unlike what came next, though! Fear of the unknown against fear of the known had a pretty simple answer in Amelie's mind, even though Asher seemed to be willing to discuss that. Not like it was something she minded; with a slight nod, her voice acquiring a thoughtful tone. "Well, I guess that if you didn't know that the person behind that dragon was extremely clumsy, then you wouldn't be so sure of not fearing it. In other words, it became not so unknown, don't you think? Guess your argument can play both ways."
Knowing what somebody, —or something— was capable of and the unknown weren't all that compatible. That thought was accompanied with a small smile as Asher had chosen not to comment on the digimon he didn't know. Maybe the brunette was probably mistaken, but it almost seemed to be a concession towards her argument. Not much else to say about that, in all honesty.
And not like she could, anyway, with all the tripping business going on. Being clumsy was embarrassing, but it wasn't like her steps were steady in first place; in fact, she was glad she wasn't hearing anything with heels or something of the like, because otherwise... it'd have probably been a really nasty fall. Instead, now she was getting teased by Asher. Not exactly the best outcome either, but way better! "Well, your warning wasn't good enough." Laughter was contagious, as small as it was and despite this not being the ideal situation for it. Amy's first steps afterward were a bit shaky, but she regained her previous stability relatively quickly.
It was a relief that —strange happenings in the process of acquiring the spirit nonwithstanding— this journey had been free of too many complications. "I mean, I think my parents wouldn't be very happy if they had received a call from the police. It's a really big relief we got out without anything super weird happening, right?" Maybe weird wasn't the word, but at least the strange events that had transpired on their small journey hadn't been particularly dangerous. That much was a reason to be relieved.
Regarding what would be her plans after this, the brunette adopted a somewhat pensive expression. In all honesty... "I hadn't thought about it, really. But I guess that right now, I just want to go home. My apartment should be like... ten or so blocks away, so more or less?" Not to say that during her time unconscious, the rain had managed to make some of her clothes uncomfortably wet. "How about you?"
If, and only if Asher told her that his home was far away or any variation of him not feeling like going there just yet, Amy would muster the valor to say. "Maybe... you would want to have a cup of tea over my place? Guess I owe you at least that much for all the help you've given me." All whilst fighting the urge to blush from utter embarrassment. The brunette would undoubtedly feel like she owed him if she couldn't do at least something to pay him back.
But, if their paths diverged on that moment, she'd silently store that offer, maybe for a later date if they got to meet again. In both cases, a pretty grossed out face would ensue at the redhead's joke, even if it followed by a series of stifled giggles. "Well, if you enjoyed them, I guess it wasn't that bad. But next time, you're coming alone."

Amelie's major was architecture? Huh! "I have to admit, I wouldn't have guessed that," the young man mused. "What kind of career are you hoping for?" Asher couldn't deny that he didn't know much about architecture! At all! But, that didn't make the subject any less interesting. It was always fun to hear what other people had planned! And, maybe it would help the young man get a better grasp on what he was particularly interested in. Who really knew with Asher?
Though, it was pretty obvious that right now, Asher was trying to place any comparisons between legitimate vampires from media to NeoDevimon. "I guess you're right. I mean, most things give us Dracula or," there was an awkward pause, while the redhead tried not to scrunch his nose, "Edward?" That just did not sound like a vampire name! Then again, it wasn't like there was a set rule to names for vampires. "I'll let you know my findings, when I see him next," he suggested. "Maybe he's just a weird demon-thing." Digimon were pretty strange! For all Asher knew, there was a literal blob of who-knew-what that had '-mon' plastered to the end of its name!
There was a hum, while the spirit user mulled over the fact that he had contradicted himself. "Well, we had been arguing during the whole dragon thing. And I didn't know about the hundreds of eyes. Or just about any of this," he explained, a little sheepish at admitting to starting an argument with a temperamental kid in a dragon body. "And, I mean, I thought I trusted the known of his brother being the stable one, but he ended up being the scary one." It was always alarming when the sane ones ended up being a little unhinged. Entirely not Elliot's fault, of course! But, this probably wasn't helping Asher's defense at all.
Either way, Asher didn't want to get too into those kind of details. He didn't want to scare Amelie away from the entire concept of Digimon! Some people really couldn't handle the actual realization that this could be a dangerous hobby! Or would it be considered a lifestyle? Regardless, the redhead was trying to keep the concept interesting enough to not scare someone away from it before they even obtained their spirit!
And, with recent events, it seemed that he had at least succeeded in part of that!
"At least you can't say that I didn't try," the redhead smiled. Oh, good, Amy hadn't gotten upset about the teasing! It hadn't really struck Asher until after words were spoken, that not everyone found the best solution to be laughter. Still, Asher made sure to keep a closer eye on the brunette's steps, just in case.
The thought of Asher's parents finding out about this adventure certainly didn't sound appealing to him, either! Of course, it was unlikely that anyone would have known beyond his father. Or, whoever answered the phone. "Mine wouldn't be, either," he agreed, entirely. But, as far as getting out without weird things? "Well, I'd say some weird things happened, but," the young man paused for a second, "that's just my opinion." Then again, anyone else that saw random words in another language form out of nowhere would probably agree!
Home. Right. Of course anyone would want to go home after a day like this! Nobody wanted to sit in cafe with soaked clothes, either. Except, maybe, Asher, who still didn't seem overly bothered by his inability to remain dry today. "Hmm," the young man hummed, while debating his own answer. "I have no idea," he finally concluded after a moment. Don't ask a question that you don't have your own answer to, Asher! Jeez!
Then again, maybe not having an answer was the right answer. There was a short silence, while the redhead seemed to process the offer. "Tea?" He couldn't! Shouldn't? Uh. Was it actually considered rude to take someone up on the offer, after they had been unconscious shortly before? Mouth moved before Asher was fully able to decide on proper etiquette for such a situation. "Sure. I'd like that," he murmured, as a smile crept across his lips, "but, you really don't owe me for anything." Helping out with new spirits seemed to just be a thing that everyone did! And, Amelie making for great company had certainly been repayment enough! Though, Asher wasn't going to complain about having a reason to make sure that the girl got home safely, and had a while longer to talk.
Or to make terrible jokes. Smile turned to grin, while Asher shook his head. "Some things are best as a one-time thing." Such as breaking into a restricted area, and dealing with the (hopefully) figurative smell of death! Though Asher had to face the facts that, as a spirit user, there was a high chance that entering restricted grounds was not actually going to be a one-off. Plus, the Entertainment District would be really creepy alone!

Almost one month and a half delay. I'm super sorry about it. On the somewhat good side, I guess that the thread's finally about to end. Sorry for the poor quality of my post; I'm out of practice. Was that surprising? Well, it might've been; Amy herself wouldn't have guessed her own career if she didn't know it beforehand. Did that make sense? Not much, in all honesty. "Well, I was aiming to be an urban designer, but I'll be happy as long as I get to build something big and important!" A soft giggle came over her lips, almost as if she had said those words as a joke. "What about you? Aiming at something in particular or...?" Maybe he'd like to return to acting? Or maybe something else? No way for her to know! Well, unless he answered her question.
Going back to the topic of vampires, the brunette couldn't but nod at Asher's statement. "I'll be waiting on them." She said, smirking; it probably wasn't the biggest of their concerns at the moment, but... it had been an interesting topic. While it lasted, that is.
Soon enough, however... Amelie found herself a little bit at a loss. Dragons with many eyes and brothers didn't make much sense to her, and maybe been unconscious some time ago had played a role on that. However, she could add a little bit of her mindon the topic of seemingly stable people. "It's always like that, isn't it? The quieter one ends up being the scarier when thrown off."
Still, those kinda topics were probably not suitable for the here and now. Right now, they had other priorities. Like... getting out. Or not tripping, while at it. She could handle Asher's teasing, and in fact, she found it fun in a sense... so long as she didn't end up in the ground for real.
Raising an eyebrow, she gazed at Asher after he said those words. "Well, maybe there was some weirdness around, but it wasn't that bad, was it? Unless..." Maybe something happened while she was unconscious? There was no way to know, and frankly, she preferred to not to ask. At least, not right now.
But, once she gathered her bearings, dried herself and had something warm to drink (again), she'd probably be up for a more... detailed explanation on what had happened right there. Amy couldn't but smile earnestly, all while blushing a little bit when Asher accepted her invitation. "I think I'm free to decide whether I owe you anything or not." A snicker was the natural follow up to both her and his statement. "So... shall we?"
Without saying anything else, she began to lead the way. Who'd have said that this day would turn out like this.
Oh well, she didn't have any complaints about it. Exit Thread

Lips remained curved into a smile, at the young woman's words. For all they knew, maybe Amelie would end up making something big and important in the Digital World, instead of this world, even! It was hard to tell at this point. When the question was posed back, the teen gave a thoughtful hum. "I haven't decided yet," he admitted, casually adding, "I kind of miss acting. Maybe I'll go for some big movie next time!" Tone inflected, implying that he wasn't entirely serious about the plan. But, he wasn't entirely not serious, either! "I just don't want to be stuck behind a desk." That would be the fastest way to get bored and fall asleep!
Thinking about the response on how alarming Elliot could become, Asher had to agree. "That's really true," he nodded. That seemed to even be the case with his little sister! She seemed pretty quiet, but man, she could be scary. At least Elliot was always friendly! Well, excluding certain occasions.
Placing a hand in his pocket, the redhead kept the one closest to Amelie free, just in case she were to actually fall. It seemed like the girl was doing fine now, but he'd rather not be wrong about something like that! Yellow eyes glanced away from the girl, though, while he mulled over the little event that had occurred when the brunette had lost consciousness. "I wouldn't say it was bad," he commented, reassuringly, "just weird. But, collecting spirits always seems pretty different, so it's probably pretty normal for this kind of situation." After all, cars getting crunched could be entirely average for a human-world spirit hunt! If the situation was going to get bad, it was probably for the police that had gone to the area, rather than the two of them! And, that definitely wasn't going to be something that the young man was going to comment on right now! Amelie didn't need to hear that kind of possibility!
"After you." Making a small gesture ahead of them, Asher slowed his step to better follow the young woman's lead. At least nobody could say that the day had been boring so far!
End of Thread!
