...He was too late. Sophie did tried to stop the tension, but not only she did it wrong, she understood the point wrong. Yuuki was saying that it's stupid to take out everything on other guy, even the other guy is the boyfriend of the girl who made Asher act like this. Before Yuuki can say anything with that surprised expression that says 'are you serious?' , Hikaru idly cooled down a water bottle that he carried and toss an arc to Yuuki, stopping him before he could even open his mouth.
"First, chill. This is so not like you. I understand that you panicked, stressed out because you know the implication of what being unable to evolve, but it's getting out of hand. You're being too tense and too easily provocated. Usually you're more forgiving than this... Calm down, OK? Isn't it you who said that we should enter dangerous situation with cool head? Calm down and seriously ignore everything, just like back then. I know it's hard, but if you're not doing that..." he purposely let it trail. A glitch appeared at his tail. Yuuki's horrified expression did not missed by him, but he just smiled, trying to tell his partner that he's alright. "...understand that you're the only one who can bring us out from this predicament... at least lessening the risk. Being snappy at everything isn't you at all."
Then Hikaru turned at Asher. "...Second, what's wrong with you? I mean, we seriously starts decent enough until the comment about his girlfriend. I seriously thought that you two can be friends. Like, you can sigh at him about his girlfriend and he could ask her to tone it down. That what I thought would happened. I mean, honestly, there's another guy out there that got kicked more than you. Karin is really violent, yes. Even the girl herself admits this. But if you got kicked by her, that usually means you crossed the line. Heck, she was EVEN WORSE a year ago!
Now I'm wondering if it's fun to be jerk or are you just trying to pour your frustration at related person? Whatever the case is, that's a coward's way. Karin is Karin, Yuuki is Yuuki. I don't know what sort of frustration his girl is giving you but he really had no idea. If you're frustrated at Karin and totally need to vent in that way you rile people up, toss it to her face, not to her boyfriend. That will only make it worse, especially at condition like this. Not only it's childish, it only would lead to nowhere, so I'm absolutely sorry you need to even get reminded to act like a mature person." The last shot must be the jab about his own sentence to Sophie. "Now shut it, both of you."
Finally, the final member of the group. "...Sorry you have to see a Doru scolding everyone... Anyway calling someone Mr. Testosterone when he's really on the tip of being serious to slam the other guy down, that only made thing worse. Just a tip, but if you tries to stop someone, try to be neutral in your approach. Smile can help, yes, but as much as possible, try to call them out with their given names and instead present logical situation. You're almost there."
Soon, his sentence followed up by a 'splosh' of a water bottle drenching the black haired teen's head. Yuuki doesn't seem want to continue with this unproductive bantering. He instead just skipped to the entrance altogether.
Inside, luckily Yuuki has more or less calmed down, especially after he poured the freezing water at his head. Although he's drenched, at least now his expression is even and calmer.
"Spirit tomb? Well, generally Egyptian pharaoh are deitified. Their tomb are sacred, and those that tried to rob their wealth usually are treated at rats. I'm actually surprised that they're welcoming this time around instead of cursing. I just hope that this means if we reached the end, we could at least talk to the owner of this place."
"Three guesses who is it?" Hikaru cheekily commented.
"Either Anubimon or Pharaohmon I think..." Yuuki commented. Looks like neither of them found anything other than the pot with strange line.
"...YAMATO is old name for Japan, but... I never heard anything like that in Digital World during seven years digital world time of my tenure. Odd. Oh well."
He sighed that apparently no one tried to examine the upper wall... and yep, he found a plaque.
"...Bingo. Lessee... on the left... 'Trial of Decision' ...on the right... 'Trial of Finesse'... Which one should we take first?"

The bit about Sophie's qualifications was enough to lessen tension from Asher, at least. A soft chuckle escaped his lips, hoping it wouldn't come off as rude to find funny. Returning Sophie's smile with a relaxed half-smile, it seemed like she had at least succeeded in settling down one of the participants! Or, at least, until a certain Dorumon joined the argument. "Maybe you need to relax," the redhead commented to the purple rookie, while trying to maintain his smile. Don't be an actual jerk. Do not cause a scene. "I was just trying to make a joke. Not pick a fight." Placing both hands in his pockets, fingers tapped lightly on the screen of his digivice. The continued assumptions to Asher's character seemed to be getting on his nerves, but it was pretty obvious after a moment that the teen had stopped paying attention entirely, and was zoning out.
Waiting until the rant toward the girl was finished, Asher finally returned to the situation, casting another glance toward Sophie. "If it makes you feel any better, I think you handled everything perfectly." After all, at least he wouldn't be feeling any tension, if Hikaru hadn't added into the scolding!
Spending the time at the entrance of the tomb attempting not to trigger anything undesirable, and shrugging off his irritation, the spirit user gave a literal shrug to Lantis. "I've never heard of any Yamato." And even if he had, surely they weren't relevant to this situation!
Whiskers' ears flattened again, thinking about the options of right or left. She was secretly relieved that Sophie re-translated Yuuki's words, as the feline wasn't entirely certain on what Finesse was! "I'm purrobably not great at eithfur of those," she admitted, quietly, while receiving another pat on the head from her human. Rookies weren't particularly strong, after all! And, if the Meicoomon didn't know what finesse meant, she probably didn't have a skyrocketing intelligence level!
"Well, if nobody can decide," Asher started, making a terrible half-joke, "I think we should go with the Trial of Decision first." That was, if Yuuki would even agree with the redhead at this point! "It might give us an idea of what we're dealing with." After all, their other option sounded a bit more active than decision would! But, it wouldn't be the first time that the Digital World surprised the teen!

Yeah, Sophie was mainly intervening the way she did with her little brothers when they butted heads. Usually her shaming them into realizing they were acting like stupid primitive animals arguing over some kind of dominance was enough to stop them from doing the true ritual of bickering. However, she was slightly curious about how things would go down.
It seemed that Yuuki's partner was the one taking control of the situation. As cute as he was, Sophie thought that what he was doing here was doing his best to keep Yuuki's ego intact. While, of course, that was understandable for a digimon partner to think of their partners' wellbeing, she didn't entirely agree with what he was saying. Was it not Yuuki's responsibility to keep his own emotions in check? And not the responsibility of those around him to make sure they didn't puncture whatever shell he had around himself?
Hikaru continuing to go on a lecture made Lantis feel so awkward that the Spadamon edged forward and muttered "Er, buddy? I think you might be making things worse the more that you talk" he muttered, but it remained to be seen if this would be heeded. Asher mentioning his objections seemed to make Sophie feel even more strongly to her feelings.
Unfortunately, Hikaru turning his lecture to Sophie made her jaw drop somewhat with the sheer audacity of it. "...Excuse me?" she asked. She thought he was being very patronizing and she didn't like that.
Lantis quickly caught on to how triggered Sophie was and immediately intervened, jumping in front of her with his yellow eyes arranged as cutely as they could. Sophie felt the need to bite her lip. This was an issue that didn't involve her younger brothers. However, she would not let this go without a warning.
"Your advice is duly noted, Hikaru, but I don't appreciate being talked down to" she said, in a stern voice. If they were going to shun her for this, whatever.
"Hey... Sophie? I don't think you're being hysterical or anything but please... let's cool down?" Lantis asked, his face looking like he was pleading. Sophie had to step away for a moment, take a few deep breaths, then return, choosing to overlook the irritation she felt from that 'mansplaining' moment. The effect of this was to make Sophie merely nod in acknowledgement of Asher's words toward her. Best not go through that further, probably.
"Sorry for calling you Mr. Testosterone" she said to Yuuki. Only because it was polite, not because Hikaru 'advised' her to.
As they entered the tomb, Sophie had hopefully got over her irritation and was paying careful attention to whatever traps and clues may be around.
Okay, so, they seemed to be in some kind of tomb. And the originators of this tomb seemed to be more welcoming than dissuading, like those of Ancient Egypt that filled their tombs with traps to dissuade tomb-raiders.
Lantis meanwhile rubbed his chin as he dwelled upon the clue he had found. Apparently "Yamato" was an old name for Japan, but it seemed that none present had witnessed any other clues. "I see. I might ask about it then" he said.
So, it seemed they had a choice of two trials in the end. Decision and Finesse. Sophie paused and thought about what would be the better choice. Decision implied mental decisions, while Finesse implied physical actions. Well, that came down to a logical decision at least.
"I think we should only pick the path we're most proficient at" she said. "If we're good at quick thinking, the Decision path. But if we're better physically, the Finesse path".
Asher suggested that they pick the Decision path first then. Sophie found herself in agreement of that. She felt more comfortable about that than the other one at least.

"Nobody doing that," Hikaru interjected, also obviously cross at how this girl seem to take his advice in the strange way. "Look, you're making mountain out molehill when I'm just pointing out your flaw. I mean, c'mon, of all thing, NAMECALLING? Mr. Testosterone? Being violent? Yeah, I got the impression that Yuuki is really high strung and he felt like he's going to attack someone... But hey, I need to do my job as his partner to calm him down before he struck a spirit user. Will he do it? When he's angered enough or when this situation got worse, probably. Normally he won't even care about this level of annoyance and just shrug it off!
How do we know about Asher's typing? It's simple. Karin won't train anyone or bring out the whip as he put it unless he's a spirit user or someone in near super ultimate level. I don't smell any power higher than her level from the Meicoomon, which means he's definitely one. His remark "anything under perfect" from before also seals it. Yeah, Digimon can sense if the other party is stronger, it comes with experience. It's harder to detect it on human, especially when it comes to Asher who just look as if he don't care much about stuff and doesn't carry air of experienced user, but I just know.
Yes, I'm aware that I'm making stuff worse for the other guy. But what can I say? One mention of his girlfriend and suddenly it all gone downhill! Plus he's high strung due to me unable to evolve, as if that's not clear enough! And for all he know he's four versus one. I have to take his side to even it out, even if he's acting like an anger driven jerk! At least that calmed him down didn't it? That brought out his rational side doesn't it!? If I want to blew out my valve and say how silly he's acting too over the top to a simple provocation, then that only make the situation worse!"
"...Well, that does indeed," Yuuki commented meekly, scratching the back of his neck.
"Where does I'm talking down to you? I'm saying that you did good, but you need more work on usage of words in right situation! I'm really thankful that you two saved us, but remember, we're still just acquaintances. I get that you're uncomfortable, I'm uncomfortable too. But if you does, just say your point, make point out the situation like "Yuuki, I know you're angry, but can you stop the threat? You're being too high strung and it's making everyone uncomfortable." instead of calling him Mr. Testosterone. Now do you get it? I'm NOT talking down to you. You're not someone I'd talk down to. I'd talk down to my enemies and my enemies only. Homeostasis, I just broke out of my character!"
"...Looks like we all need to cool down," Yuuki muttered, patting Hikaru who's currently just staring coldly at the other.
Hikaru exhaled and rubbed his forehead. He totally felt like he's not himself at this moment. The Dorumon just looked really guilty and grasped his head in what looked like an attempt to vent his own frustration to himself. He stayed on that crouching position for a while until he finally calmed down "...We clearly do. Sorry about that. Look, let's... let's start back from zero if that's possible... Our first meeting is REALLY not good. Looks like this virus is getting me--"
"What virus?" Yuuki interjected sharply. However, Hikaru did not answer. He just pressed forward. "Hikaru, hey, wait, Hikaru!?"
Hikaru totally ignored his partner's worried look inside the ruins. He just tried to get his rhythm back... but looks like it's harder than he thought. Yuuki who saw this finally clapped to gather everyone's attention. Hikaru knew what he wanted to do. Fighting in trap riddled building is worst than anywhere.
"...I guess we'll need a little break for a while. There's no trap around here, so we're safe. Look, I think this is more urgent than proceeding forward... We all started at wrong feet. I admit most of this happened because of us and I'm sorry," Yuuki this time took the more rational role. "...Hikaru, you got explanation to do."
"...Yeah, I know. Looks like nobody understand why not being able to evolve means a lot to me. It's not just because of power. To begin with... I'm a glitched Digimon. My data is incomplete... correction, was. When I evolve, the Digivice would supplement the missing data... but the data at times not enough... it often would lead to garbage data entering me. It happened before... and it made me into a crazed monster. I'm a fucked up Digimon who need to be reset twice before I could be normal. Not being able to evolve means... I'm afraid my data finally lose its bond and slowly deteriorating. It might lead me return back to Digitama."
"...There you have it. So I'm sorry, I'm running away from that fact. But I admit that it's been in my mind and make me really tense and sensitive."

Not sure of what to do, Whiskers remained silent throughout as much of the bickering as possible. When Lantis spoke to Hikaru, the Meicoomon's ears twitched, and she gave a tiny nod. Green eyes continued to shift back and forth between all of those actually participating in the conversation. It wasn't like a mercenary really had room to place an opinion in human matters, anyway.
While Asher was trying not to pay too much mind to the conversation, himself, he felt the need to address the statement that was related to him. "Have to admit, not a fan of being called out as one." While there weren't any eavesdroppers around, it certainly would be easy enough for such a piece of knowledge to stamp a target on his back of 'kill before he can transform' in a worst case scenario! At least, while tamers made great targets, there was still the focus of a legitimate Digimon! But, now he couldn't help but be curious. "You don't know anything beyond just that I'm a spirit user, right?" Digimon surely couldn't sense any specifics of it, right?
With an agreement to pretend that the terrible meeting hadn't gone as such, Asher gave a small shrug. He was pretty good at pretending. Even though there was no way that any of them would actually forget a cruddy first impression. Unless there was a great distraction. Such as a mention of a virus! Almost immediately, Whiskers shuffled a little away from the Dorumon, and toward her own human. Knowing the thought going through the 'germ'-conscious cat's head, Asher rolled his eyes, before mumbling, "I'm sure it's not contagious."
Yuuki had far more reason to be concerned, however, with it being his partner. What, exactly, would a virus do to a partner Digimon? Up until recently, the thought had never crossed the teen's mind that a digital creature could be infected with a virus!
At least most of this tension could be solved before the group was put into any actual danger. Upon some explanation, Whiskers visibly seemed to relax. Oh, good, that didn't sound contagious! Less good, it sounded fatal! "That sounds terrawrfying," the feline commented, with wide eyes, "are there any doctpurrs that could help?" Was it even possible for a Digital World doctor to cure a glitch or virus like that?

As Hikaru lectured her, Sophie was growing angrier and angrier. Ordinarily she didn't really like punching fluffy animals but this was really testing her mettle.
Then all at once, before she could lash out, her digivice shone brightly and Lantis suddenly evolved in a burst of light. And lo and behold, he was a Leomon. Standing at nearly nine feet tall, covered with pale tan fur, a grand golden mane on his head. He wore a pair of black leather trousers, and had a tribal kind of necklace. Further, he seemed to be wearing a blue tank top over an extremely muscular chest, decorated with a golden fleur-de-lis on the front. And on his back he seemed to have the same design of sword he had as a rookie level.
"...holy shit" Sophie breathed in shock. Lantis meanwhile assumed a pose, glistening in the sunlight.
"Now now, Sophie, my dear partner" he said, facing her. "Let's just put all this to one side, yes? And we both may stop arguing. You can be distracted by my extremely magnificent chest, while Hikaru can behold my firm leather-clad tushie, yes?"
"..." said Sophie.
"Now then! To the task at hand" Lantis said. The Leomon's personality seemed to have burst out of some kind of containment, becoming much more confident than he was as a Spadamon. Sophie was so shocked by this that she had completely forgot what she and Hikaru were arguing about.
Lantis meanwhile paid attention to Hikaru, astonished by this revelation that he was in fact a glitched digimon. "Oh my... is there nothing we can do to help?" he asked. He looked at Yuuki. "If it's serious, perhaps we should seek a way through these ruins as quickly as possible so we can return to civilization. We mustn't linger".
