The girl could not help but gaze slightly up at the clock hanging above the projector screen that her hack excuse of an English teacher was lecturing on.
Still another forty-five minutes till she was free from this pointless class.
Satsuki groaned internally. She glanced around at her fellow classmates, no one seeming to be the slightest bit interested in their teacher's lessons. As much as she hated to say they were right, there was nothing wrong in her eyes here. Their teacher was not only a slacker who rarely ever gave them difficult work (all so he could easily pass off that his class were practically all As or Bs) but the class itself wasn't very informative. It was nothing but lectures about individual words and sentences, but giving no explanation as to WHY they are the way the are written as.
The teen could not help but think she'd get a better education with learning English if she went to college. She took the class so that she could have a foreign-language, but GOD was it boring. Absolutely no challenge to it. The fact that she had to deal with this class everyday for two hours grated on her nerves. She wanted to ask if she could just take the final exam and be done with it, but no... that's not how the school system works.
The girl could not help but pull up her textbook in front of her, her phone in one hand as she browsed her social media. The baboon of a teacher never bothers to scold kids in class and tell them to put their phones away, and it wasn't like she was going to be missing anything by ignoring him. She normally was an outstanding student, but she wasn't going to waste her time studying for such an easy class.
Fourty minutes till the end of class. God, time couldn't go any faster; could it?

Satsuki gazed at her local news feed for Facebook on her phone, glaring slightly at one post. A boy and a girl in her grade seemed to have skipped class today, a selfie image of them smiling and laughing posted on the website.
Normally she'd scoff at the reckless abandonment of studies, but she couldn't help but be slightly jealous. She'd kill to get out of this poor excuse of a class. Everyone probably would, even their teacher. NO ONE was happy being here, and they made it pretty damn clear to one another.
That was fine. Wasn't like she actually liked people.
Seriously, too many weirdos come and try to befriend her. Most were boys... specifically the ones who she's seen try to get into other girls' panties. They obviously were just trying to score what they thought would be an easy date. As much as she'd love to break their little hopes and dreams, she had a facade to keep up with.
So forth, she'd always reply to them the same way. She'd excuse herself and say that she was very busy with schoolwork, then say that she'd talk to them via phone If she was lucky, they wouldn't even bother to call her back; though she has had a few more persistent men try to contact her. Of course, she never bothered to actually pick up the line; and usually they'd stop then.
White lies were her favorite tool. Such a convenient way to get yourself out of annoying or compromising situations.
She gazed back at the clock again. 35 minutes left. A little more than half an hour. No biggie. They were probably halfway done with the lecture anyway.

While the hopes of being freed from this purgatory that was English were still high, Satsuki still had that lingering feeling of... what would call it? Dread? Exasperation? Yeah... exasperation sounded fitting. She was getting antsy again, kicking the empty space underneath her desk with her foot.
Even she had to admit that she had a poor sense of patience. She dislike sitting around and doing nothing. It made her feel... useless. She was the type of person who always had to have something to keep her mind occupied... else she'd go insane sitting idly.
She decided to try and occupy her mind once again with the wonders that was browsing the internet. Anything at this point was better than having to listen to this droning lecture frankly. She decided to just look up a little news for her favorite video game... which frankly she was not completely thrilled at looking the patch notes for.
As expected, the game's designers HAD no clue as to what the hell they were doing. More ignoring the most under-appreciated or under-whelming characters to tweak and buff their newest content. It honestly disgusted Satsuki as she had far better ideas that could be implemented than the ones these schmuck game designers make.
Amazing how she was still playing a video game that she so actively hated. Love to hate... or hate to love? Honestly, she didn't really know herself at times. Call her a pessimistic bigot, but she trusted her opinions on good taste more than others'.
Half an hour left, right on the dot. Could be worse she supposed. Things can't take too long now.

Satsuki looked around her classroom. As expected, she was not the only one goofing off in the middle of class; many also fiddling around with their phones, drawing or reading.
Normally she'd scoff at them, but she too was in the same boat as them right now. She wanted off said boat, but she wasn't really having many options here. She just had to bide her time like everyone else.
Knowing that everyone else was suffering like her made her feel a little better. Not much, but a little.
Usually she stayed on the moral high-ground when it came to pulling out phones in class, but this really was the exception. Not like anyone cared. As long as she was at least lumped with everyone else and looked good, she was fine.
As she idled, she noticed one particular boy gazing at her.
Oh GOOD. It was Kakashi.
Satsuki internally groaned inside. Ugh, go figure. He was eyeing at her again. She knew the guy had like an uber crush on her... but god, he was an utter wimp. Guy never talked to her, yet she KNEW that he liked her.
Spineless wimps like him were the exact kind of people she hated deeply. If he thought she was pretty, TELL IT to her face! She just hated that wishy-washiness about some people... so indecisive.
She gave a fake smile and turned her head back to the presentation. No, she wasn't actually watching it; she just needed an excuse to not pay attention to Kakashi.
25 minutes left till free from this hell.

The girl glanced upwards at the ceiling above her, trying to find something... anything to do or think about. Hard to stave off boredom honestly when you realize you are wasting minutes of your life sitting here. Just about anything was a better alternative at this point.
It was then that the girl felt a buzzing in one of her pockets, she glancing at the pocket that the noise was originating from. She quickly pulled out the tiny pink device, glancing at it's screen.
It was her Tamagotchi, the tiny egg-shaped device having indicated to her that her Tamagotchi was hungry. She turned on the backlight, being greeted by a tiny LED sprite of a little creature bobbing up and down; a speech bubble with a 4-bit sprite of a roll of meat on it.
Her Lovelitchi honestly was one thing she couldn't get tired of seeing. While she's had the experience of seeing her Tamagotchi die and pass away countless times, she's always taken the care and effort to make sure that the next life was just as good; if not better. Call her sentimental, but she always loved the little thing. She's had many different names for this Tamagotchi, but her favorite was "Circe".
While she had the sounds turned off so it wouldn't disturb her in school, this did not mean she didn't pay attention to it. She'd always make sure to check up Circe in-between class or at lunch to make sure they weren't being neglected. She couldn't have them die too soon after all.
After playing and feeding her Lovelitchi, Satsuki checked back the time. 10 minutes left! God, so close... they must have been almost done now. Just five more minutes and they should be getting ready to pack up.

Satsuki anxiously began tapping her desk with her index finger, an anxious look on her face.
Good news, four-eyes was finally looking like he was wrapping up this dumb class for today. About time. Everyone in the room seemed to simultaneously sigh in relief.
Her teacher began to rant about how we should read about so and so, prepare for a quiz next week. Same old routine he'd always say. It was all basically false promises that he was trying to get out of the students, and while SOME would waste the time to do so; Satsuki knew better. This class was a shoddy job at teaching English, and the tests proved it.
Satsuki honestly believed that if she just slept in-class, she'd STILL be able to easily do the work for it. It was honestly quite pathetic really. This class was a waste of her time. Necessary, but a waste.
5 minutes left, everyone was gathering their stuff. A few were actually already walking out, though Satsuki knew better. Those hall monitors could be real pains in the asses at times if you were caught outside of class.

A few minutes left. Satsuki eyed the second hand of the clock counting up, she waiting for the bell to finally ring. All she had left was Pre-Calc, then she was free for today.
Overall, it's been a pretty uneventful day today. She was caught up with all her assignments, all her grades were As or high Bs. No homework for today, which meant she had all day after getting home to herself.
Somehow, Satsuki could not help but feel a bit... What was the phrase here? She felt... dull. Her life felt dull. She's done everything she's supposed to, had little to any serious responsibilities. Frankly, with the way things were; she had no doubts that she'd be able to pass all her classes in the higher percentiles.
So why didn't she feel accomplished? She should be proud of herself, yet... it felt like she wasn't even being challenged.
As she dwelled on this fact, she was almost caught off-guard by the ringing of the bell; her classmates quickly filing out of the classroom enmasse. She did not hesitate any further, she grabbing hold of her bag and heading out too.
... She was craving something that would spice her life up. She wasn't sure what, but anything at this point sounded appealing frankly. Was it weird to think that way? Or perhaps... was she the only sane one here?
Questions, questions.
