As Kasumi stepped off the train, she noticed that something wasn't right. This didn't look like any stop she'd been at before, and she knew the railways pretty well at this point. Also, the things moving around here weren't exactly...human, as far as she could tell. Unless she had walked into some sort of furry convention with super realistic costumes, there were walking talking animals of all shapes and sizes around the station. "What on Earth is this?" she wondered. Was Saburo really here somewhere? This had to be some sort of mistake. Kasumi turned around to get back onto the train when a tiny voice from behind her stopped her. "Um...excuse me?" A murmur from the crowd somehow managed to make its way into Kasumi's ears. "Are you maybe...Kasumi Usagi?"The young girl turned around and looked around, but saw no one. When she looked down, though, she was shocked to find a strange brown blob looking up at her. "My name is Kokomon. I'm...your partner."Kasumi looked confused. "I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong person, here."Kokomon shook her head. "No...that can't be right. Saburo told me exactly what you looked like and what you'd be wearing-" "Hold up," Kasumi interrupted. "You know where Saburo is?""Y-yes," Kokomon stammered. "He left with Gummymon a while ago. There was an older girl with them...I think she said her name was Sophie? I decided to wait here for you and present you with this." Kasumi looked beside Kokomon to see a strange pink device that looked like a virtual pet toy she used to play with. She carefully picked it up, and when she did a brilliant light shone from it. Kokomon's eyes lit up with joy and she started bouncing up and down. "I knew it was you! This is a dream come true!"Kasumi laughed nervously and stared at her new device with a worried expression. Did Saburo have one of these things, too? What the heck was going on around here?

A blonde haired teenager with striking blue eyes yet strangely very distinctively Japanese in look currently sitting inside a Trailmon. Her finger gently tapping her lap rhythmically. She obviously listening to a song through the strange... uh, headset. It's seem shaped to mimic a cat's ears. Not only that, the stranger thing that happened is that it moved like its real counterpart, and it's not mechanical in look either! It actually looked as if the girl have the cat ears! As much as she wanted to boast more about her new headphone, she suddenly heard the Trailmon announcing that this is the stop. The music that played somehow automatically fades to the background like it's some mall's music. Good thing she bought this headset. It could autofade the music to the background! How nifty!
Although the girl and her partner, an angelic looking Digimon left the train happily, there was... a little problem.
"...Excuse me," she called out to this girl who seem to be busy talking with her newfound partner. Older? Younger? She got no idea, but at least best not let her to stand here that much longer! "You're kinda in the way of the exit, mind moving away a bit? Just so people can have more room to get out from the Trailmon, that is."
A bit unfriendly, but if you ask Karin this is already as polite as she could be.

Kasumi was startled a bit by the sight of another human in this strange place. Instead of getting angry with this girl for being so rude, she decided to play it safe. "Sorry," she mumbled, picking up Kokomon and stepping out of the way. The girl started to walk away, but Kasumi suddenly realized what was going on.
"Hey!" she shouted. "Do you know what's going on here? Can you help me?"

Hmn? Was the girl calling for her? The ears of her headset perked up like a cat being called. She turned around, wondering what is it, but apparently she need help? Oh well...
"...Well, I guess I'm free today..." she muttered. "Very well, what's going on, you ask? What do you mean by what's going on? Like, what happened in Digital World or why are you here?" then her sight landed at her Baby II partner.. oh, so that's how is it? Karin admitted, shes really bad at being 'friendly'. Polite sure is easy, but friendly... not so much. The girl kinda lamented her blunt words. "...Well, if you mean why you're here, honestly I have no idea, but... Digital World, this world, has chosen you. This mean this world somehow for one reason or another, picked you for some sort of adventure... oh well... I guess this is not even the right place to discuss about it."
"About that," the D'arcmon suddenly interjected "how about if we talk in a cafe near here? Honestly there's a nice one around here and it's seem to be nice enough to let everyone to talk privately."
...Well, looks like Jeanne's suggestion is nice enough.

Kasumi sighed. This sounded a lot more complicated than she thought. "All right," she said. "Let's go, Kokomon." The little blob jumped up into her arms as she stashed the new toy away.
"Are you sure it's ok to just trust these people?" Kokomon whispered nervously. "We should be a little more cautious."
"If they can help us find Saburo, I'm fine to trust them for now," Kasumi whispered back. She picked up the pace to catch up with the other girl. "Oh, by the way, my name's Kasumi Usagi," she greeted cheerfully, "but most people just call me Kas for short. This is my new friend, Kokomon!"

Karin just looked at the younger (she assume) girl and her new partner. Hmmm, so they just met? Well, the girl doesn't mind teaching them... least what happened to her first adventure happened to the girl. "Takamiya Karin... Karin, you can call me that," Karin answered. "And this is my partner, Jeanne."
"Very nice to meet you two. But we can continue the chit chat on another location. Don't get too separated alright? Terminus is very crowded as far as you can see, so it's best to stick together. Protip! If you're following someone in Terminus, look at their Digimon. It's a bit hard to look for the human. Usually the Digimon are taller. If the Digimon are shorter, try to look for the person instead. Otherwise just register your friends in your D-Terminal so you can message them anytime."
Smooth tutorial-like words. Karin can't help but to smirk wryly.
"Very well, then, Usagi-san," for some reason Karin intent on calling the girl with her surname instead. Why? Probably because the girl is still not really keen on being buddy buddy or it's just some sign of Japanese etiquette. Luckily soon they arrived in a cafe run by several Floramons.
"Go order what you like. I doubt you got money, so today's on me," Karin decided. "So, what is it that you first want to ask?"

Takamiya Karin...that was a name Kasumi would have to remember. And it seemed her partner had a name, too! This made Kas start to wonder if Kokomon secretly had a name, too. Who knew?
The four of them made their way through the streets of this city that Jeanne had called Terminus for a while until they reached the restaurant. Kas was doing her best to absorb as much info as she could on the way there, and hopefully it would stick.
"Kokomon, what's a D-Terminal?" Kasumi whispered. It seemed like her partner had forgotten something vital as she quivered a little bit and produced another device that she had been holding on to from inside her gooey body. The device looked just like a mini laptop and appeared to have some sort of e-mail function. Man, this day was getting weirder and weirder!
Once they got to the restaurant, Kasumi and Kokomon sat down with Karin and Jeanne and ordered two bowls of ramen. Kasumi loved ramen more than just about everything else in the world. "Thank you so much, Takamiya-san!" she said politely. Kokomon smiled. It seemed her human was well-mannered, at least!
"Well, I'd like to start by asking what exactly this Digital World is and how I got here," Kas began. "I got on this train in search of my brother, Saburo, and somehow ended up here. Then I met Kokomon here as soon as I got off the dang train and she gave me this weird device and said she was with Saburo at some point and there's just so much going on-"
Kokomon nudged her partner in an effort to get her to calm down.

Starting from there, huh... Karin ordered what looked like a strawberry parfait, while Jeanne seem to just ordering some tea and cake. The difference between the two partnered humans and their partner, huh. Meanwhile, Karin listened to Kasumi, not sure where to interject. Luckily for her, Kokomon could calm her down.
"..Let's start from the first question," she suggested. "First, Digital World is another world from ours... it's place where these... Digimons came from. It's like a world byproduct of our data... real world data. It forms this world and for some reason, the sentient beings called Digimons. If you ever heard of strange, unexplained incident in real world, most likely it's because a Digimon's action.
Unfortunately, I don't know where this brother of yours that called Saburo is. All I can say is that hopefully he's fine. If he's already registered in your D-Terminal, you can message him."
She took a little breather and let the girl asked more if there is any need. Afterall, it's entire new information to absorb before you can push more in for her. She need to understand these first. "...Anything else? Oh, don't worry... I won't go just yet. After this I might... need to train you... to make sure that your partner will stay alive and there's no need to reset."

Kasumi nodded periodically while Karin spoke. This was a lot to take in so suddenly, but she assumed that she kind of had the general idea. She fiddled around with the buttons on the D-Terminal, but she didn't really know where to find any of the functions so it seemed she wouldn't be able to contact Saburo just yet. Kokomon bumped her again, silently reminding her that it was rude to be on her D-Terminal at the table. Perhaps that would have to wait until later.
"I think that's pretty much it," Kasumi said, nodding. "I guess now all I've got to do is go on some crazy quest to track down my brother. I know this seems really out of the blue, and I know I just met you, Takamiya-san, but would you be able to help me find my little brother? He means the world to me and if I lost him again I don't know what I'd do!"

"Well, not that I'm particularly against it," Karin answered offhandedly. "Little brother it is? I thought it was older brother. But that's fine... Well, I'm not busy and I'm planning to keep watch on you until you're strong enough at least," she admitted. "Digital World isn't exactly a safe place... but..." she looked at Kokomon. She don't want to ruin the excitement of the Digimon to get partner afterall... "...But if you can somehow... pass this danger by trusting each other, you'll be fine," she nodded in affirmation.
Still, she refused to have a newbie in her watch to somehow experience what happened to Kyo. So she... will do as her best as a mentor and such to guide her.
"...I understand, but there will be no guarantee that I can find him though... still, are you fine with me instead bringing you to my travel while at the same time coaching you?"

"I...guess that's fine," Kasumi said, unsure of really what to do. She had to find Saburo, but had nothing to go off. Karin seemed to be very experienced and knowledgable, so the two of them would be safe. She looked down at Kokomon, who nodded to affirm that she would go with Kasumi wherever she went. "I'd love to go with you."
Meanwhile, the D-Terminal sat unused. Kasumi had the ability to e-mail Saburo at any time, but she couldn't figure out how to work the stupid thing! How stupid was that?

"Very well, then let's move a bit." she pointed at a small private room. It's seem to be for those who want to speak without being overheard by people. Honestly, she wanted to make something similar to this. Sort of a place where she honestly could get intel, but... that probably gonna be bad for the business, especially if it came out that she actually gathering intel from people.
She opened the door and let her in first, then sit beside the younger girl herself then took out her D-Terminal.
"I'll teach you how to operate D-Terminal first."
She began to show Kasumi how to send e-mail but warned that she only could send e-mail to those who already registered inside. It also hold armors, although Karin got none so far. Instead of her Digivice, it's seem that Karin used her D-Terminal to act as Digimon Analyzer.
"...Well, that's how it is more or less... think it as a downgraded cellphone or PDA."

Oh, so that's how this stupid thing worked! Kasumi spent a few moments analyzing random Digimon around the restaurant. This could be pretty fun!
She also found out how to use the e-mail functionality. She noticed that there was one name already registered in her contacts: Saburo Usagi. Excitedly, she immediately sent a message to her brother asking where he was and if he was okay. You know, basic protective sister things!
Menawhile, Kokomon was feeling nice and full from the ramen she just ate. It seemed like she had so much energy that she was going to burst!

The moment Kasumi started to scan more than just Kokomon and Jeanne, Jeanne quickly closed her D-Terminal and shook her head. "...Usagi-san, while it's fine to scan Digimons that you're unaware of there's a problem with that sort of attitude in public. I'm stopping you before you think that it'll be OK to scan like a certain boy from a monster collecting franchise that doesn't even remember that he got a certain bird monster but still scan the same species later on. Digimon doesn't take scanning kindly."
This time, instead of Karin, her partner is the one who start explaining.
"...Do take it to heart... in this world, it's not rare that the independent Digimons think you guys as invaders. Not helping that there are those people who thinks this as game. Imagine this... in this world where the independent Digimon cannot evolve and grow as quickly as human partnered ones does except some cases... the existence of Digimons like me and Kokomon is often viewed negatively... Human's slave, power prostitution, traitors. those thing uttered by independent Digimons who hate our existence and scorn it. I will not lie... there will be chance that one day you'll meet those sort of Digimon. Also, as of why we don't take scanning kindly... it's because of course... if you're scanning us, you're actively looking for our weakness too. Do you understand? Digital World is unfortunately... a world where the law of the jungle prevails most."

Kasumi looked around. She was getting some stares from a few of the other Digimon around her and the others. Embarassed, she put the D-Terminal away. "Sorry," she whispered loudly. Maybe things were dangerous here? What did that mean for Saburo? There was no way he'd come across something like the D-Terminal and not treat it like some kind of toy. Meanwhile, Kokomon's energy from all the food was overflowing! She suddenly began to shine with a brilliant light, as did the Digivice in Kasumi's pocket. "Kokomon Digivolve to...Lopmon!"Kasumi looked at her partner's new bunny-like form and squealed a bit. "Lopmon, you're so cute!" she shrieked. She picked up her partner and gave her a giant hug. Lopmon gave a muffled grunt from the sudden squeeze. "Th-thank you, Kas," she squeaked.
