Well then! With AEGIS established now as a group, Sophie James and her partner Lantis would thus begin to get a feel for their new roles. Well... they weren't that much of a group yet, what with them not even having uniform or even badges yet, but, they at least had a temporary headquarters. Sophie would thus make sure to go down to oversee the outfitting of AEGIS with the proper equipment. Thankfully her brother was eager to help, using money he had earned from his own digital world based group, PROFIT, in purchasing some electronics to start them off. That and a cleaner to clear the dust out of it. Furthermore, she had received contact from a mysterious individual that told her that it was about time there was a replacement for DATS, and that they didn't need to worry about interference from the authorities. Now that headquarters was established, Sophie then supposed she'd best take a look at the situation in Shibuya. Her digivice was out and Lantis's nose was active, ready to sniff out any digimon that may be nearby. Of course with Lantis being a rookie level, there wasn't much in the way of combat that he could do yet. But, he'd do what he could to keep Sophie safe. He himself was disguised in his holosuit form, looking for all intents and purposes a white haired boy that was younger than Sophie. But other digimon would probably know what he was. Today, Sophie supposed she would tackle the situation in the Entertainment District in Downtown Shibuya. It was said that there was a terrible accident that occurred some years before Sophie and her family arrived in Japan, but, was it digimon related? It would be excellent if one of the first missions of AEGIS was to get to the bottom of the mystery. DracNos

A small figure strolls confidently through the same area, resembling a child with some bizarre mask, a smile plastered on his face, warranting galnces from passersby, though most either assumed it was indeed a child or simply didn't care. His walk was a strut, one clawed boot swinging in front of the other, he rounded into an alleyway, swiftly disappearing, before seeming to reappear on top of the building that shaded the same alleyway, the child-like being surveyed the street, extensing his hands, while crouching next to a gargoyle. "Sup." he asked the stone monster, nodding to acknowledge it's existence, his smile hardly moving as he spoke, he watched the street with one hand, as the other watched the gargoyle, "you bored, too? Yeah... Slow day, I'll admit." he spoke, casually, nodding in agreement to the cold stone, he wasn't lying either, he hasn't interfered with anyone's business in quite some time, and he was getting antsy. He had assumed that someone would report the odd pale skinned child wandering the streets, is that not enough? Maybe he should cause some ruckus, maybe to kick things up. But what to do...

Lantis's ears would have perked up, if he had still been in his digimon form. But in his holosuit, well, human ears don't seem to be as expressive. Nonetheless, he sniffed and smelled something familiar.
"Sophie, there's a digimon around here" he announced to his partner. Sophie nodded, pulling out her digivice, and this was confirmed.
"Alright then" she said. She hoped it would be nobody hostile or too powerful to handle. But, as a member of AEGIS, she felt that it was her duty to investigate.
Sophie was rather surprised that the repair crews hadn't come along to fix up this part of the city. I mean the place was trashed, surely they would have come by now? Maybe the digimon prevented that?
With Lantis and her digivice tracking, it wasn't long before they were at the place where they thought the digimon would be hanging out. Lantis sniffed, but couldn't home in on the origin. And Sophie was confused as well, the radar function on her digivice told her that the digimon should be nearby.
"That's strange. Maybe he's underground?" she suggested, looking down. If a digimon hid a lot, of course the sewer system would be a good bet, but, she didn't really fancy going that far to ask questions.

It was then the little virus noticed the girl and her companion stopping and peering around, looking lost. His grin widened, somehow, as he got an idea. He pranced off the building nearby, landing in a garbage can, cushioned by the bags of trash inside, though the impact knocked it over, the can rolled sideways, he hid inside of it, and the exit pointed towards her, as his body darkened in color and seemed to disperse.
The digimon waited, as it recognized, somewhat, the device she held, it blipped and came up with an image of himself. As she focused on it, the small digimon, now several, much smaller shapes, shifted, before a swarm of mask-wearing bats swarmed out of the garbage bin. The swarm burst out of the metal cylinder, chattering loudly as they swarmed past her and her companion, batting them lightly with their wings, no intent to harm, just frighten. The swarm passed as soon as it came, as as soon as they passed by her, they dove into the solid concrete of the sidewalk, vanishing entirely from view.

Sophie and Lantis immediately turned their heads as they heard the clanging of some trash cans nearby.
"Maybe that's them?" Sophie suggested as they rushed to see what it was. Instinctively, she raised her digivice to get some kind of reading as to what this digimon was. And she thus saw the outline of some kind of humanoid digimon.
But the next thing that happened was that dark spiky shapes seemed to rush towards her. Sophie looked up to see a flock of bats. She gasped and turned away, holding her hands out to block against and scratching or bites that would normally be incurred. But, it seemed, the bats didn't really seem to be all there so to say.
Sophie looked up to see that the digimon still seemed to be there. And so she decided to approach this in a professional kind of way. "Yes, very funny" she said, briskly.
Lantis meanwhile recognized that the danger had passed and, seeing that there was indeed a digimon involved in all this, he'd best not show that he was in any way afraid.
"So, Dracmon, what was the purpose of that exactly?" she asked, recognizing what the scan from the digivice had told her. "Did you think a few bats would scare us away or...?" she finished casually.
"You're not really a bad digimon are you, though?" Lantis asked quickly, noting that the digimon hadn't sought to do them actual harm yet.

Scuffling could be heard all around as the bats crawled around inside the ground and buildings surrounding them, "ThE PurpOsE...? Why sO ForMaL, FriENdS...?" high pitched voices whispered, all around them.
The bats could be seen, for only a moment, in their peripheral vision before vanishing, again. The noises of the bats seemed to vanish, as a shady figure manifested, on top of the building. It crouched it's legs, about to jump, before one leg slipped and it bounced off of it's bottom, falling down and landing on it's head, on top of the bin the bats first manifested from, this heavily dented the metal before falling behind the bin, out of sight.
He huffed, crossing his arms. He's messed up his grand entrance! "Aw, man..." was a moan that could be heard from behind the bin.

Sophie was about to explain why she was so formal here - that she was conducting a serious investigation in this district, when the bats seemed to manifest into the form of a digimon.
"Actually that's kind of impressive" Lantis admitted quietly as a Dracmon formed again, then he promptly fell off the roof and landed behind some trash cans. Sweat drops beaded Sophie and Lantis's heads as they beheld the clumsy entrance.
"Can I take that back?" Lantis muttered to Sophie. They heard the Dracmon moan.
"Hey, are you alright there?" Sophie asked, heading toward the trash can cautiously. "We don't mean any harm or anything, we're just doing some investigating for digimon related activity in the area".
Supposing now that they were having some less... dramatic conversation, it would be best to proceed with pleasantries. "I'm Sophie James of AEGIS and this is my partner Lantis" she said. She supposed by now Dracmon would sense through the holosuit that Lantis was also a digimon.

As the two approached, he stiffened his body, before rolling to the side, and then to his feet. Close inspection exposed his lack of eyes, at least, not on his head, as he brought up his hands, revealing his eyes. "Aw, Geez, these eyes ain't all cracked up as they were worth... Makin' me think another mon's a human." he muttered, flicking and mildly disrupting the holosuit, before raising his hand's equivalent of an eyebrow at AEGIS, before shrugging and turning away, "never heard o' ya. But you SOUND like those Data Dorks from a little while back, you like an updated version of them?" he asked, casually, "well, I'm clean, officer. Just wanderin' about, mindin' my own business is all," he explained, miming a cartoon maiden, tapping his chin and twisting his posture, in an innocent way.

Sophie realized with a start that this digimon seemed to have eyes on his hands. Wait, so the eyes on his face... whoa, they were fake? She took an instinctive step backward as she realized this. Wow, some digimon were quite strange.
"H-hey!" Lantis complained as his holosuit was disrupted by the Dracmon. Deciding he'd best not risk damaging it, and deciding that it was safe to do so, he deactivated it, revealing himself as a Spadamon. With white shaggy fur and blue armor, it was obvious that he was a digimon as well.
"Yes, we hope to take up the work that DATS used to do" Sophie explained to the Dracmon. "However, I hope we'll be somewhat more... well... lenient to digimon living in this city. I assure you we'd only target digimon that are seen to be attacking other humans".
She hoped there would be no problems about this approach. Dracmon claimed that he was innocent.
"Alright then" Sophie said, shrugging. "So, Dracmon, do you mind if I ask you a few questions? You seem like a decent fellow, so, I'd just like to know what an independent digimon like you does in your spare time here?"
She took out a notepad and pen, hoping that this encounter would bring forth some information or even leads.

"Man, I don't know, Leo. I'm still not convinced this world is worth coming back to." Rich said, still cautious about returning to the human world. It had been years since Richard Allen and Leo the Coronamon were heard from, but now they find themselves wandering around Japan. All of their allies were long gone and now they were left with only a few contacts in both worlds. After years of searching for the answer to the riddle that would change him back to his proper age, the young tamer finally decided to show his face back in the human world. Outfitted in a pair of blue jeans, a black shirt, and his signature Yankees cap, the young child walked through the streets of the entertainment district seemingly lost.
"It's easy! Everyone already thinks you're dead, so you'll have that fresh start we've always talked about." Leo replied, walking next to Rich wearing Rich's white coat with a faded stitching on the back that read 'JUSTICE'. The disguise was poor, but at this point, the duo didn't care. At one point, they were the ones to protect the human world from rogue Digimon, but that was long ago and they have moved on since then.
Rich shrugged as he checked the watch on his wrist. "I wish Max was still around so we didn't have to wander all over the place looking for this stupid warehouse. I can't remember where anything is in this world!" The young tamer complained.
The sound of a clattering garbage can and the screeches of bats drew the attention of Rich and Leo. The Coronamon looked at his tamer and smirked. "Bats during the day? Even I know that's not right." Leo said, looking over towards the source of the disturbance.
"And I suppose you want to check that out, right? Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong."
Leo didn't answer but instead walked towards the source to get a better view of the action. Rich rolled his eyes and followed after him not long after. A Dracmon, a girl, and a digimon the duo had never encountered before seemed to be talking. Leo picked up a bit of the conversation before Rich did. "Data Dorks? You think they're talking about us? Rich shrugged and dug his hands in his pockets. "Even if they are talking about us, we're not them anymore. Let's just keep going so we can find this place." Rich beckoned, but Leo had other plans. The small lion Digimon walked up beside the Damon and put his elbow on the Dracmon's shoulder and propped himself up using the shoulder as an armrest.
"Data Dorks, huh? That's a bold claim coming from a Digimon who can't clap its hands without going blind." Leo smirked and looked over at the girl. "So does that make you two the new Data Dorks?"

He tapped his head, thoughtfully, "Well, would me scaring the odd human here an' there qualify?" he asked, tilting his head thoughtfully, not really caring about her answer. Though the news that DATS was gone put him in a good mood. "Anyways... My day-to-day life goes a lil' like-oh, hello." he remarked, noticing the newcomer. He giggled, at their joke, "eyes are overrated, anyways, in the end, they're just things to poke." he shrugged, his forked tail moving up and tickling just under the Coronamon's bicep, apparently to dislodge his cocky position. He showed no fear when presented with the veteran, his smile ever present. He promptly turned back towards the other two, remembering their question and ignoring him, "anyways, I usually can be found strutting my stuff and lookin' for some Digidesktops to mess with, I usually don't mess with the normal masses cause I always get the same reaction: 'are you lost?', or 'where's your mommy?' I mean, what even IS a mommy, right? Anyways, he started rambling about past experiences with robot clowns, a lady who turned into a dragon after he threw a cake at some candles, virtual nonsense.

Sophie jumped a little as she realized that they weren't alone here. She turned to see a boy about her age approaching, and his partner seemed to be a digimon with orange fur and wearing a white coat. For a moment, Sophie thought this was her brother's friend Marshal, but, realized quickly that it wasn't.
"Oh, hey there" she said, realizing that it was safe to talk to a fellow tamer. She turned to the digimon. "Yes, I guess that does" she shrugged. "Do you know about DATS too?" she tilted her head curiously.
After the answer came, she would turn to Dracmon and take note of his answers. Scaring humans? Well, that's alright as long as he wasn't attacking anyone. She stifled a chuckle as he tickled the digimon in the coat. Hopefully he didn't react too harshly.
So he usually just played around those who had digimon partners? That was somewhat of a relief. "Well, you do kinda look like a young kid wearing an outfit..." Sophie pointed out. "I guess that's a good thing though".
He then talked about Robot Clowns, a Lady who turned into a Dragon and throwing a cake at candles. Her eyebrow arched higher at every line, but, at least she was getting the idea that the solo digimon basically just liked to play around and have random adventures. Not really something that AEGIS should investigate further.
"I see, that's very... illuminating" she said. "Thanks for sharing that, Dracmon. So, is there anything you're kind of... aiming for here? Like, do you want to eventually go home to the digital world? Or is there something you're looking for here, like a partner?"
While she was saying this, Lantis looked up at the new arrivals. He saw that the digimon was a Coronamon, a fellow lion digimon. Just to make sure they weren't missing out, he waved a little and made conversation with them. "So hey, I don't think I've seen you guys around" he said, making conversation. "I'm Lantis and this is my partner Sophie, we mostly just started out as partners" he explained.

"You could say we know about DATS, but its been awhile since we heard from them until you two.. ho ho ho ha ha ha! stop it!" Leo fell to the ground in laughter from the tickling. Rich looked down at his digimon and rolled his eyes.
"Of all the things we've come against, all it took was being tickled to take you down? I'll keep that in mind next time you try to steal my fries." Rich said, looking back at the group. The tamer crossed his arms and listened to the tales of the Dracmon, but it was coming off as nonsense and he began to lose interest. Rich looked beyond the babbling digimon to the area behind him. It was still the same place he had known from before, but it was changed in some way. It didn't feel like home anymore, but that doesn't explain why the duo drawn back to the human world.
Rich turned to the other tamer and smiled. "This guy won't be any trouble to anyone really. Its the big ones that you have to worry about. He seems to be pretty occupied with his robot old ladies and his dragon clowns."
Leo got up from the ground and dusted himself off. He wanted to retaliate, but Rich gave his digimon a look that meant to let it go. Leo stuck his tongue out at the Dracmon. "Your story is crazy! There's no way that an old woman could turn into a dragon without digivolving!" The Coronamon turned to the other digimon and held his hand out to shake theirs. "It's nice to meet you, Lantis and your partner too! I'm Leo and this is my tamer, Rich. We heard you guys talking about DATS and we got a little curious."
"We? You're the one who ran over and just had to put in their two cents, Leo. DATS is done and its been done for awhile. From the looks of it around here, it looks like its not needed in this world anymore, but I've been away too long to know if that's true." Rich closed his eyes and took a deep breath before speaking again. "Listen, you seem like you're good people and digimon so I'm going to give you some advice. Whatever you guys are calling yourselves now, don't get too involved like we did. Visit your family, take a day off, just have fun with your friends because before you know it, they'll leave and you'd wish you did."
The watch on Rich's wrist began to beep and light up. Rich looked down at his wrist and rolled his eyes. "Great. Power share mode needs to recharge." Rich began to glow blue and Leo began to glow red. Within a few moments, Rich's body began to shrink until he was about half the height he was before. The light faded from Rich and Leo, but Rich had reverted to being 7 years old once again.

He huffed, "you two obviously weren't paying attention." He turned to Leo, addressing his statement directly, "yeah it could, she digivolved. There are several lady 'mons and not once did I mention that she was "OLD", I said she had weird mind control powers, and the clowns were the robots, they also had a robot mammothmon. He did flips on a ball." He explained, now speaking to all present, as he crossed his arms, not seeming to mind how that limited his vision, "and the name's not Dracmon, it's Drac-NOS." He corrected them, waggling his finger, the same way a teacher would while correcting their students. He heard Rich's warning, and he jumped into that conversation, "yeah, that sounds like a lil' theory I had a while ago: the more ya try to control, the more out of control things get when you mess up!" he nodded, pointing casually at the human, "something along those lines anyways," he shrugged, walking over to the bin from earlier and setting it upright, placing the lid back on, before hopping on top of it to get to approximate eye level of the humans.

Sophie thought the sight of the digimon being tickled was just adorable. Lantis meanwhile sweatdropped at the sight, hoping he wouldn't suffer the same fate.
It seemed the digimon didn't believe Dracmon's story. Sophie and Lantis kind of agreed that the Dracmon's story was a little crazy, although in Sophie's adventures so far she had met certain individuals that could turn into digimon, namely "Spirit-Wielders".
"Ah, right, sorry, Dracnos" Sophie apologized to the Dracmon.
Lantis shook Coronamon's hand as he introduced himself as Leo, his partner being "Rich". And it seemed that they were involved in the old DATS. Sophie's face turned serious as she listened to this advice.
"I see..." she said, nodding. "Well, we call our group AEGIS now. And yes, we'll be sure to do that, I don't really intend to fully activate it and get involved in things beyond our purview. It's just... well, I've been hearing about stories in the digital world that are concerning. Right, Lan?"
"Yeah, some bad digimon are starting to get the message that DATS isn't around anymore, so, there isn't much stopping them coming to Earth to cause trouble" Lantis added.
"You sound experienced in that area though. What was your involvement in DATS?" Sophie asked, curiously. Then Rich mentioned something about power sharing mode, and he suddenly shrank to half his size. "Oh my god!" Sophie gasped. "What just- how the heck-?"
"I see. Was that a holosuit you were wearing, Rich?" Lantis asked curiously. He didn't know if they were able to be used on humans. Perhaps Rich was really a child that was pretending to be older and the batteries ran out? Although why was Leo glowing?
He heard clanking behind him, but it was just Dracnos climbing on top of the garbage can so that he could stand at their eye level, well... Sophie's anyway.
