Leo smiled with Lantis' response to his question. In a way, Lantis and Sophie almost reminded Leo of Rich and himself. They were so eager to help and do the right thing that they were willing to dedicate their services to an organization. Their drive to better themselves and get to the higher level so they could do a better job was admirable. They would have fit in well on any of the teams RIch and Leo had been a part of, but that's all in the past. Leo snapped back to reality and looked up at Lantis.
"That's a pretty good reason for joining up and the goals that you both set for yourselves are very selfless. You're going to do great things together. I know Rich acts like a tough guy all the time, but if you guys ever need any help, give us a call and we'll be there in no time at all." Rich led the group deeper and deeper into the warehouse while occasionally checking on Dracnos to see if his trail was still being made. After taking a few turns and a few more minutes of walking, the group was closing in on the destination. Rich stopped walking and waited for Thumper to get back with any information as to what was in the lab.
"We're close. The lab should be around this next corner. I'm not exactly sure what we're looking for, but if something looks like it can fix my watch, then grab it. Or just grab anything that looks cool to you, I don't care. Just don't hit anything that looks like it'll blow up."
The air in front of the group began to shimmer and Thumper appeared in front of them. The blackgargomon brushed himself off with the guns on his hands. Rich crossed his arms and looked up at the bunny digimon.
"So what's the report? Is there anything we should worry about in there?"
"Cobwebs and dust. Not much more."
"Thank you, Thumper for doing that for me. You can rest now."
Thumper nodded and closed his eyes. Rich began to fiddle with the watch on his wrist and a black light came out and engulfed Thumper, storing him back in the infiniwatch. Rich looked at the rest of the group and smiled big. He was finally close to fixing himself and actually being normal again. Leo could tell Rich was excited, but he was trying to contain it.
"I can't wait anymore! Let's go!"
Rich ran ahead of the rest of the group and into the lab.

DracNos made a personal point to stay quiet in the discussion on personal goals or the future, as he focused on gouging out small claw marks in the wall, his wrist getting sore, with the effort. Eventually, the lab was in sight, and DracNos instinctively skipped inside, staring around at the various things and stuff in the room. "Right, I have no idea what any of this does. And also I don't really know what I expected to find here, either." he realized he actually didn't desire anything in particular from this room, and felt disappointed with himself. He walked around, peering at the tools and trinkets with a mild sense of melancholy.

"Thank you" Lantis smiled back at Leo. "That means a lot". Since Sophie was about to say the same thing, she remained silent, but gave an appreciative look. Of course, she wouldn't abuse this agreement and try to drag Rich and Leo into their business, but, if they ever got in trouble, they were glad they could count on some kind of support.
So, it seemed they would be approaching the lab soon. Rich didn't seem to be sure exactly what the tool that would solve his, well, growth issues looked like. But that they should use logic to determine what it might be.
"Oh don't worry, I won't touch what looks like it shouldn't be touched" Sophie said, which in her experience with DATS, was pretty much anything. Although... thinking about it, it might be good to take some kind of logbook or diary, just to know what kind of things happened here that contributed to such a dramatic decline of such a high tech organization.
And so with the coast seemingly clear, they entered the lab. Sophie examined the various constructs carefully, noting that most of them would be too heavy for Lantis to move even if they wanted to take something. But she kept an eye out for anything that might hold data.
"Now then... if this is a lab, then surely there'd be research notes stored somewhere?" she mused... although that probably wasn't how they worked in this day and age. Most of the data could have been simply stored on the DATS scientists' personal laptops, which would probably not be here.
"Well, if they're here, they'd probably be toward the management end of the lab, yes?" Lantis suggested. Sophie agreed with that, and she soon made her way toward what she thought was the commander's desk. Surely something of use would be around there, right?

As they stepped foot inside the lab, the lights came on one after another and illuminated the area. Rich immediately went running off in search of something that could fix his watch Leaving Leo in the dust. The young tamer picked up almost every piece of equipment on the table and looked at it closely to see if it could work with his watch, but nothing seemed to be of any use. He kicked the nearest object near him and made a clanging noise that echoed through the lab. The subject of Rich's kick just so happened to be a filing cabinet that also peaked Rich's interest. He began to fiddle with the locking mechanism with some of the tools on the table in front of him.
Leo was still with the group and just looking around the lab in awe. The last time they had been in here, it was with their old team. It looked familiar, but it didn't feel like home. He almost got the sense that he was unwanted here, but he put that in the back of his mind. The clanging noise produced by Rich made Leo jump a bit. He glared at his tamer from across the room, then went about his business. Leo began meandering through the lab and occasionally picking up a something that looked useful, but then putting it down a few seconds later.
"What did that thing look like again?" Leo said, as he summoned a flaming sword to his hand. He dug the tip of the sword in the floor and drew a picture with the scorch marks before putting out the flaming blade.
"It was something like this... but where would I look for that?"
Rich had broken the lock on the filing cabinet with a screwdriver and began reading the files of the old teams. Rich walked back over to his partner with a few files under his arm. Rich had a big smile on his face, proud of his discovery.
"You'll never guess what I found down here." Rich said, as he handed Leo the folders. A lot of the information was blacked out, but a few things remained on it.
"Check it out! We were able to fly so under the radar, that even Josh couldn't find us when he took over DATS. How Impressive is that? Does that mean we're the hide and seek champions for both the digital and the human world?"
Leo looked over the folder, then handed it back to his tamer. "That's great, but it's not what we're here for. We need to find something that looks like this. I remember that guy was working on your watch with a piece that was shaped something like this. Did you see anything like that over there?"
Rich thought about it for a moment then shrugged. "I don't know. I was just looking for a screwdriver or something like that, but I can go back and try to find that. Just give me one second!" Rich ran off again to the other side of the lab, leaving Leo to clean up all the files Rich had pulled.

DracNos simply meandered about, examining the tools and tech, halfheartedly. This was... just boring, he shrugged, he did in fact volunteer, so he felt obligated to keep looking, but he felt very little excitement in all of this, so he glanced at the shape Leo described into the ground, without even turning around, before just tossing certain tools aside, left and right, not really making progress. Again, the others spoke about things he didn't really understand, at all, and he felt kind of alone. He peered at a small chamber, with no buttons inside, hopping around, inside of the open glass cylinder.

Their search wasn't being exactly lucrative. Sophie was startled slightly by Rich striking a nearby filing cabinet. Since he looked 7 years old she had to hold back the urge to tell him to hold his temper, but, realizing that in reality he was her age and much more experienced in this area, she held her tongue.
Lantis meanwhile paid attention to Leo. He watched with a bit of awe as he summoned a sword of fire and used it to carve a marking in the ground. Apparently that was the object they were looking for here.
"I... can't really tell what that is" Lantis admitted. "But, this place is fairly big. It's bound to be around somewhere". He scratched his chin. Something that could reverse the effects of time. "...it's probably a more valuable artifact than something that would simply be left around" he mused. "Perhaps it might be in one of the more, well, secure areas?" he suggested.
Meanwhile, apparently Rich had found something that would be very useful for Sophie and Lantis. A trove of hard copy files had been found, much of it containing research on digital world technology.
"Can I have a look?" Sophie asked, taking one of the files. Yes, it was extensively redacted, but, this was real information they could use. Real info that could help AEGIS. Yes, the redaction was annoying, but, even with the words only partially visible, this was real official documentation on the operations of DATS. Even if they could only get a little bit of information from it, it would make their position better than before.
"Would you guys be okay if we took these files?" Sophie asked Rich and Leo, hoping it would be alright.
Lantis meanwhile looked at Drac. He had seen that this digimon had interesting abilities. So the Leomon knelt down to speak.
"I have a suspicion that what we're looking for might require some skilful infiltration" he said, quietly so they weren't overheard. "From what I've seen of your abilities so far, you seem like you might be the best of us to break through. Would you be willing to help out?". Lantis wouldn't judge him either way, just it would be good if he did agree.

Rich ran around the and scanned the tables in search of anything that looked like the thing that Leo drew into the ground. He picked up things from the lab tables, then placed them back down. Each piece of equipment he picked up made him cough from the dust that came off of it. Rich turned to cover his mouth and saw a doorway in the back of the lab. He looked back at everybody else to see if they were close enough to tell about it, but he decided that they were too far to tell without shouting, so he went in alone.
Leo looked up at Sophie and nodded at her. He picked up the rest of the files from the ground and handed them to Sophie in a neat stack.
"Here. Take what you want from here. I don't think anything is going to be used in this lab anymore. You're the new DATS so I guess these are rightfully yours."
Leo got up from the ground and looked down at the scorched floor in front of him and thought for a moment. A loud crashing noise echoed through the lab again. Leo rolled his eyes and looked towards the source of the noise.
"Why can't he ever do things quietly? I know he's in the body of a 7-year-old, but his mentality should be years beyond that. In all that time, he still hasn't been able to mature as much as he should have by now."
Rich came out of the room with a large wrench in his arms and a big smile on his face. He trotted over to the rest of the group and showed off his discovery.
"Do you guys see the size of this thing? It's almost as big as I am! What do you think it was for? And what are these notches for in it?"
Leo stepped forward and examined the large wrench that Rich had in his arms. He ran his claw along the side of the wrench.
"These feel more like bite marks than notches. What do you think would be chewing on a wrench this big? And what has jaws powerful enough to leave indents this defined?"
Rich shrugged and readjusted the wrench in his arms. "Don't know, don't care. I'm keeping this as a souvenir. I mean, I was part of DATS and nobody else is going to take it, so why can't I have it?"
Leo opened his mouth to protest, but what use was it arguing with a child? Especially if that child just happens to be Rich. Leo rolled his eyes and smiled at his tamer. Sometimes he felt like Rich lost his maturity when he was in this form, but he also remembered before this happened that Rich still did stupid things for reasons only he would understand.
"Just keep the noise down, okay? We don't need any unwanted attention."
"Jeez. You kick a filing cabinet one time and suddenly the whole world starts crumbling down. Fine, I'll watch where I throw my kicks. Happy?"
It was at that point where Leo realized that Rich had walked in from a different direction of the loud crash before. He didn't want to say anything to worry the rest of the group, so he kept that information to himself. Leo went to work searching for the piece on the lab tables and in drawers, but his attempts were met in vain.

Drac flicked a vial off of the counter as Lantis leaned down, " 'Skillfull Infiltration'? Oh, man, what kind? Should I sneak by the inactive cameras?" he asked, slumping over the counter, one of his hands peering at the champion level. Since when was he this big? Anyways, he stood, "well, sure, whatever, what's fresh?" he asked, dragging himself off the counter. He stretched, passively, as he turned his head to the side, aiming his ears to him, rather than where his eyes should be. He stared at Leomon with one hand, while the other kept scanning the lab, for anything of interest.

Sophie beamed as the pile of files was given to her. "Thanks. I'll be sure to put them to good use" she said. These files would be kept safely in the new AEGIS office in the Shibuya Terminal, at least until she found somewhere better to put them.
She was startled slightly by the crashing noise in the adjoining room. Lantis walked over to make sure everything was okay, but it just seemed that it was an ordinary accident. They then examined the large wrench.
"Hmm... that is concerning" Lantis said, frowning as he looked at the bite marks on the wrench. "I'd say a digimon did it. Don't worry too much though, some digimon at the rookie level can do that".
"And if it was a bigger level?" Sophie asked.
"Eh, the wrench would have been bitten into pieces if it was something of a higher level" Lantis said. Sophie hoped he was right about that.
Then Lantis paid attention to Drac. "Well, the security might be still active in the more restricted areas" he reasoned.
He then turned to Leo. "Hmm, I think the thing we're looking for may be deeper in" he said. "I mean, we're talking about time here, surely such a device won't be simply lying around?".

Rich leaned the wrench against his shoulder for support and walked around proudly with it in his arms. The young tamer began wandering around to other parts of the lab that weren't explored yet. As he walked, Rich swung the wrench as if it were a weapon. With each swing, Rich almost fell over due to the sheer size and weight of the wrench, but he didn't seem to mind. Rich would never admit it to anyone, but there were times he enjoyed being young again with the ability to do whatever he pleased with little to no consequence. The tamer had no responsibilities and didn't have to look after anyone except for his friends.
Leo closed the desk drawer and sighed. There wasn't a specific place this tool could be, but it was clear it wasn't in the room with them now. Leo took another hard look at the drawing burned into the ground and thought for a moment. "I think there's another room in the back that we can look in somewhere in the back. That's probably our best bet for finding this thing."
The lion digimon thought about what could be waiting for them in the deeper rooms. The deeper part of the lab was usually reserved for more secret operations and Leo had never actually been in that part of the facility before. "Your guess is as good as mine. I know they had more important stuff in the back, but it goes pretty deep. As far as security goes, they should have something protecting the good stuff back there, but I have no idea what it could be. It depends on which leader set up the defenses. If it was Max, it's going to be something ridiculous, but if it was Josh, then we'll have a better chance."
Leo watched Rich walk away and rolled his eyes at his tamer. Rich went off to do his own thing in a different part of the lab, but Leo wasn't concerned. Even though Rich was only a child, he was smart enough to get himself out of situations. He just wished that he wasn't so selfish or would tell everyone where he was going instead of wandering off. Leo pointed off in the back where one door resided. "It could be back there, but it could also be further down the hall that we started in as well. We should try the door in the back first where Rich got the wrench."
Leo walked in the door and the lights flashed on, illuminating the area around him. Inside there was large machines and desks with notes and blueprints scattered on them. Leo went over to the desks and started looking through the papers for a clue on what to look for. The sound of machines whirling and beeping filled the room, which Leo found a bit strange. Why would this facility still be powered and these machines still running after all this time? Something didn't sit right with him.
One of the blueprints Leo found looked like a replica of the infini-watch called the M.A.S.S. watch. Leo took a closer look at the watch and it looked almost identical to the watch Rich had, but a safer version that could be removed. Leo brought the piece of paper back to the group and showed them the contents. "Okay, guys. We're in the right place so just fan out and see what you can find in here."

"Okay, I Guess. Maybe something will happen there?" He shrugged, marching towards the back of the area, sticking his arm into the room first, naturally. He skipped inside, examining tools before tossing them aside, carelessly, before getting bored, and pulling out his little box and opening and closing it, blasting the equipment with confetti, not really helping anymore, and just doing his own thing. He was behaving like a child now, before noticing that Rich was running off on his own. Drac followed him, out of no reason other than thinking maybe he could find something interesting by following the kid.

Sophie watched Rich proudly swing around the wrench quietly, not helping but half-smiling. 'Poor guy must have gone through so much' she thought. An agent of DATS, messed up by time itself, and now here he was with them in the bowels of an old DATS facility, trying to find a way to get his life back the way it was.
"Say, Rich..." Sophie spoke to the boy. "Sorry if this seems like a random question, but, do you have any brothers or sisters?".
She asked this because at this stage of her business in the digimon thing, she felt like she had her brother Colin to back her up if anything went wrong. He had shown her just how strong his partners Luke and Bellamy were, and assured her that if she ever needed help, he'd be there for his big sister. That was a huge thing for Sophie - the bedrock of the way she conducted herself in regards to AEGIS. She wondered if Rich had family like that.
"Alright then, that sounds good" Lantis remarked to Leo. He listened to the Coronamon's musings on the security levels. "Well, we'd better hope for Josh but prepare for Max then" he said, rubbing his chin in thought and apprehension.
Following that, it seemed that they would indeed move into the deeper parts of the facility. There was something about this place that didn't settle well at all with Sophie and Lantis. So with that, they turned to Dracmon for his opinion on things.
And he just... seemed to be blasting confetti on things. Lantis sighed and shook his head with disappointment. "You know I just can't read this guy" he remarked. Sophie felt compelled to agree.
But then Rich ran off. Sophie immediately thought this was a bad idea. There could be some serious high security stuff down here. And Leo was content to remain separate from him?
"Uh, sorry to mention this, but, I really think you should be near your partner" Lantis said to Leo. "Don't worry, we'll take a look in this part of the lab". He hoped he wasn't coming across as untrustworthy, but, a digimon should stay with their partner after all, especially in dangerous situations.

RIch stopped running when he noticed he had a follower. He turned around and caught a glimpse of the confetti falling down. He adjusted the giant wrench in his arms and smiled at Dracnos. "You've decided to come on the real adventure?" Rich said, looking back at the group. The question about Rich's brother hit him harder than expected. Since Rich has gone through his metamorphosis. Rich felt himself get sad, but he didn't want Leo to see. He pushed his hat down over his eyes and took a deep breath. "Yeah... I guess I just haven't talked to him in a while. I've been... Busy." Rich didn't wait for a response. He turned and began walking in the other direction.
Leo glanced up at Lantis and shook his head. "Rich is a smart kid. I know he doesn't look like much, but I trust he'll be okay. Besides. If he gets a jump start on looking in other parts of the lab, then we can get out of here quicker." The lion digimon picked up one of the prototype watches and started poking at the buttons. The watch face turned on and the watch seemed to be running, but it began to spark and malfunction a few moments after being turned on. Leo dropped the watch back on the table and sighed. "I guess I can see why they never distributed these things." Leo said, poking around the desk more. He pushed a few papers forward and something metallic could be heard falling behind the desk.
Rich walked silently trying to regain his composure. He noticed that Dracnos was still behind him, but he couldn't stop thinking about his brother. It wasn't until Rich looked back that he noticed that there were more scratch marks on the wall, but these ones looked like they had been done by something bigger with far larger claws. Rich looked at Dracnos, then back at the wall. "I don't suppose this is one of your tricks, is it?" The tamer walked up to the wall and pressed his hand agaisnt the engravings. "We should be careful. This thing could still be down here whatever it is."
Leo got on all fours and looked underneath the desk for what had produced the noise. His eyes rested on the tool that they were looking for this whole time to fix the watch. Leo crawled underneath the table and grabbed the piece off the ground. He got out from underneath the table and dusted himself off. He didn't notice at first, but Leo had gone through a spider web and now had a spider crawling down his mane.
"I got the piece, guys. Now we just need to find Rich and Dracnos and we can get outta here." Leo said, walking to rejoin the group. As Leo approached Sophie and Lantis. the sound of a metallic wail seemed to echo throughout the facility. The sound made the fur on Leo stand up on end "I really hope that was Rich somehow making that noise otherwise, we're probably not alone down here."
The sound startled Rich enough to make him drop the wrench on the ground with a loud clatter. Rich looked over at Dracnos suspiciously. "Please tell me you're somehow behind this it's another one of your grand entrances?" The sound of faint metallic footsteps started to echo down the hallway. "Right... Maybe we should go rejoin the others." The footsteps started to grow louder and louder indicating that whatever was coming was approaching fast. "It sounds like we don't have much time before whatever this thing is reaches us. Come on. I have an idea." Rich started fidgeting with his infiniwatch. A flash of light was emitted from the watch, leaving the hoverboard in its wake. Rich grabbed the wrench and sat down on the hoverboard. "Come on! I'm driving!"

"If your adventure has more stuff happening than with those guys, then yeah." He confirmed, nodding his head, as he pocketed his box, (Somehow), back into his tight, yet oddly flexible pants. Rich pointed out the scratch marks, and questioned him. He stared at it, with one arm, "Hm... I'm not saying it's impossible for me to have done this, but I also don't recall doing something like that, at least, not here. The two kept moving, before DracNos snapped up, on alert, as the sound rang out, and the wrench was dropped. Rich again questioned him, about this being some grand entrance, but he shrugged, "Man, I'm already here. Doing two grand entrances on the same people is kinda asinine, yeah?" He seemed entirely unbothered by the noise, as he simply glanced that way, almost casually, as his other arm focused on the kid, who just summoned a hoverboard. "Cool! But, I ain't gonna miss this. It's the first exciting thing to happen in this dump!" He yelled, " 'sides, why would I hop on that when I can fly on my own? Just get outta here, you little silly!" He giggled, cranking his arms around, warming up, before he started marching directly towards where the racket was coming from, taking big, exaggerated steps. "Hey! Clunker! Do something cool!" he yelled, perhaps as a challenge, or just him genuinely wanting to see something cool.

Sophie saw with horror that her question had seemingly hurt Rich. "Oh gosh, sorry... I didn't mean to make you upset, I just-" but it was too late, he had walked off. Her partner walked up to her side.
"Best not ask that question again, Sophie" Lantis advised, gripping her shoulder gently.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make him upset though..." Sophie told him.
"I know, just, the kid's got a lot of wounds, let him be" the Leomon said. Sophie sighed, lowering her head a little with shame. She was just being stupid, she had meant to ask if Rich had any support from his family, but, it seemed she had asked the wrong way. Well, there was no way to take it back, just to let him be for a little while.
There was a small event as Leo touched a malfunctioning watch. Sophie was by now used to all the strange things going on in the warehouse and her shock wasn't enough to warrant a yelp anymore. But, it seemed that Leo had found something. Lantis and Sophie took a closer look.
"Is that the thing that can help Rich?" Sophie asked, eagerly. She hoped it was. If that was the case, they'd be able to get back out of the warehouse before anything more crazy happened. Then she saw the spider. "Agh! Leo! Your mane!" she cried, pointing to the spider on it. She hoped it could be dealt with before it bit him.
Then, there was a loud, metallic roaring noise. Sophie and Lantis turned around with fright. "Okay, getting a bit too much now..." Sophie remarked, her voice trembling.
"I somehow doubt that was Rich" Lantis said. "Be careful, Sophie, we should go see where they are".
"Right" Sophie said, and they ran, hopefully alongside Leo, to see if Rich and Dracnos were okay.
