Well, Maia certainly hadn't expected Mikemon to be receptive to the idea in the slightest. She was still somewhat expecting him to reject this, until he just... totally accepted it all? Wow, that was weird. What kind of Digi-Doctor wanted a semi-clueless human trying to talk to him at any time of day? Let alone a professional time?
Regardless, now the focus was on Kuu's attempts to learn things. And, needless to say, that wasn't going to go very well. Face scrunched, trying to debate such a heavy con. "Why would it stop?" Digivices shouldn't stop working! That would be bad! It looked like Mikemon wouldn't be able to avoid some sort of explanation for the concerned rookie! "Then I wouldn't be able to digivolve at all, right?" This question was followed with a gurgling sound, as the fox began to grow more distressed. It was a wonder that he wasn't foaming at the mouth from whatever was making that sound! "Why does it feel like I'm always trapped at too low 'a level?" Probably because he really was! Now he had to be afraid of progression, instead of just blocked by Maia or some unknown power! The 'gods' must just really hate him, or something!
Inflating his cheeks with air, the partnered Digimon decided that cookies was a way better topic to stay on. Giving a squeaky exhale, as he forced the air out of his mouth while only barely opening it, Kuu's ears twitched. "Are you saying you don't get cookies every week?" What kind of madness was that?! Everyone was supposed to get cookies every week! It was just how things were! Soon, eyes widened with excitement, realizing that he was totally going to meet a fellow cookie-liker. "Do you think we'll be friends? I like making friends." Now, speaking rapidly, the excitable creature began to ramble, "I've got so many friends! We gotta be best friends, you know? It's super important! Because the power of friendship and even the TV hamsters say it's important!" Thought you didn't like the hamster cartoon, Kuu.
Still, the Digimon was having a hard time wrapping his head around what a desk manager was. "That sounds," the Digimon paused, scrunching his nose again, "like not-exciting effort." Ew! Who wanted to do appointment things and clean? It was best not to get the opinion of someone who really just wanted to be able to swim in a garbage can! "Why's he do that?"
With any luck, Maia would return soon to save Mikemon from her partner's constant questions!

Well, it seemed that Mikemon's attempts to sneak around the sides of these questions wouldn't quite work with Kuu, especially when it was something so important to him! On the point about the Digivice, he just gave a blink, and then sighed: "Yes, it means you wouldn't be able to Digivolve at all - Maia wouldn't be able to do it, anyway. And the reason for it is, well, Digivices are paired to humans based on their code, their data. If Maia's data changed too much, the Digivice wouldn't be able to tell that Maia was the one holding it." He figured he explained it well enough that Maia would be able to understand it.
But, then again, why did he feel like he was trapped at too low a level? The Mikemon shrugged! "Some Digimon are more comfortable at different forms. You might be at where your base should be, and you might not... though I wouldn't try to evolve outside of the Digital World. If you did that, well, the cookies would be too small for you." Ah, yes, doctor, play with Kuu's own logic to prevent a Reppamon from tearing through the room!
And the questions came on coming, more varied than ever! But to this one, he just laughed: "Unfortunately not, I don't have too many able to cook them for me. And... you know what, I think he might like you. Just don't bring up the hamsters too much. And he does it because that's what his job is. No-one really likes to do it, but it keeps him occupied, enough..."
But really, where was Maia? This ball of energy was growing just a bit too much to handle! "So... Maia's parents are familiar with you, then?"

One eye twitched slightly, listening to the potential risk. And, then, the fox let out a loud groan, while flailing his head from side to side. "But, that's not fair!" After this much effort, they were halted in their tracks? That was such a pain! Kuu didn't want to be stuck as a rookie for his whole life! And, as well as Maia took care of him in this world, he probably wasn't going to ever die from doing something stupid!
At least Mikemon was smart about how to word his discouragement. "I can't be too big for cookies!" Kuu gasped, looking utterly appalled at the idea. If only Maia knew how helpful the feline was being! She'd just send him home with all of the cookies and make a new batch! "I don't think I've ever been bigger than a Rookie in this world. Or when eating cookies!" Was it because cookies weren't allowed for bigger 'mons? That was so unfair!
Just like it wasn't fair that nobody was able to make cookies for the feline Digimon! "It's gotta be illegal not to have cookies every week." Actually, it was probably far healthier for someone not to, but if it kept Kuu interested in behaving, Maia was going to pretend that they were totally healthy! "No hamsters, gonna be friends. Got it," the fox nodded, trying to remember these important details. Or, er, detail. "But, why would anyone do jobs that they didn't like?" Kuu certainly wouldn't do a job he wouldn't like! Then again, the Kudamon wasn't really equipped, physically or mentally, to do any job at all!
Unless that job involved being part of Maia's family! He was good at that! "Yeah! Dad and I are best friends! Next to Elliot. Cause I promised Elliot was my best friend. But Dad brings me toast!" Elliot never brought the fox toast! But, he did buy Kuu a bunch of sushi that one time. "Mom likes me because I'm not a spider. Don't tell her that there are Digi-Spi--"
Luckily, Maia was able to stop the conversation before Kuu rambled until the Mikemon's ears fell off. "Sorry it took so long. Parents wanted to know who we were talking to." She swore, nobody used doors around here. Instead, somehow, everyone just came in through the second floor windows! "And, I was trying to find the most paw-friendly container," she added, under her breath. Those zipping storage bags just did not look like a good idea to give someone without legitimate fingers! Let alone with claw-gloves! Instead, she had a small, plastic container, with a tab on the corner that she figured would be easy enough to lift off. "I thought I'd give you a few for your trip back, since you came all this way." That was kind of thoughtful!
"Cookies!" Immediately, Kuu bolted from his position on the floor, and whirled up his tamer's body, soon making grabbing motions from one of her shoulders. "I love cookies!" It was almost like the Kudamon had forgotten that he was the one insisting on them! Taking the one that his tamer had left out for him, he watched as Maia offered the container to the doctor.
"Was there anything else that we needed to talk about?" After all, it wasn't like Maia was used to visits from doctor-mons! She wasn't sure how this kind of thing worked!

At this point, if Kuu wasn't a doctor, the Mikemon wouldn't be surprised if Kuu's brain was made of cookies. Endearing and inquisitive as the pipe-fox may have been, Dr. Mikemon definitely wasn't used to hanging out with such a personality, especially by himself. Even in just these few minutes of talking (which quickly degenerated from seriousness to any little point Kuu could grab onto), the cat was beginning to respect just how much patience Maia had to have to be this 'mon's tamer.
That said, he could keep a smile and a good face for a while longer! "Honestly, my assistant would agree with you - he always has sweets inside his desk, some type or another. And..." Why did he do the job he didn't like to do? The cat was tempted to say 'because I pay him to', but as impressionable as he was, the doctor didn't want to plant the idea that Maia should be giving him something to do any little thing! "Well, a doctor's office has to be clean. So he helps me be a good doctor!" He answered, but he didn't. It was perfect! Maybe. Kuu did seem to catch on about half the time, though.
And honestly, the Mikemon was starting to run out of questions - he didn't know much about the family, but even then he didn't know what to- oh, hey, Maia was back! "Heh, don't worry 'bout that." He gave a nod to Kuu, just as Maia would be stepping in, that brief explanation making his ears twitch. "'Well, a doctor-cat climbed through my second story window'... sheesh, I must be making this complicated." And she went to all this trouble, to pack a few cookies in a Tupperware? The cat gave a smirk, and reached into his glove. "Actually, how about I trade you..."
No, Kuu, not other sweets! He produced a business card, its front side written in practically-indecipherable Digital Script, the only discernible feature being Mikemon's picture in the top-left. But, he flicked it the other way, showing his business and address in Whitewater, handwritten in very clear Japanese! "Gotta thank Stingmon for helping with that... anyway. I was going to say 'come around if anything changes', but considering our talk... well, come around when you can." And between her and the jumping fox, he'd trade that card for the 'box' of cookies, giving a nod as he rested it under his arm.
Aside from that, though, Maia's expected question rang in the air. And he shook his head. "Nope... and as much as I'd like to stay and meet the family, every minute here is seven over there. Unless you have anything else..."
He'd hop onto the windowsill once more, carefully edging the window up. Provided there wasn't anything else, he'd look back and give a small wave with his free hand, before he would hang off the edge and land in the back-yard.
Yup, there was a long way to get back...

Let's face it. If Kuu's brain could be cookies, it would be! Luckily for the Kudamon, it was not. Nobody wanted to know what he would actually be like, if the only thing piloting the monster was a stale chocolate chip cookie. His tamer especially wouldn't want to live with that!
But, at least someone could understand Kuu's love of sweets! The pipe-fox was already loving this assistant-mon, and he hadn't even met him yet! But, was Stingmon going to like Kuu nearly as much? The chances of that were slim! But, it was always a possibility! Not too many people outright disliked the fox! "I hope I don't have to clean stuff ever," he commented, trying to think about why anyone would help the cat be a good doctor, if it meant making things clean. Kuu wanted trash cans! Not shiny floors!
Okay, scratch that. Shiny floors were fun to slide across. Oh no, now Kuu was in a mental crisis about which he'd prefer.
Luckily, it was short-lived, with Maia in the room again. "It wasn't too bad," the tamer smiled, "my mom likes cats." At least that was a bonus! Now, if only Kuu had been a Gatomon instead! Maybe it would have saved the girl a couple of months worth of grounding!
While Kuu would have been excited about the trade, he couldn't smell any sugar, so he already knew that getting excited would be pointless. Unless Mikemon was pulling snack foods from a void! Which, thinking on it, was entirely possible. Unfortunately for him, and more luckily for Maia, it was a business card! That the tamer could read, at that!
Thinking on it, was Maia going to have to learn Digi-Code?
Either way, she gave a grateful smile. "Thank you." This was definitely a good trade, as far as the blonde was concerned! Kuu's opinion on it didn't matter! Plus, he was pretty excited to meet someone that might agree with him on cookies! "If we have any questions," she started, while shifting the card in her hand, "we'll just ask you then." As long as Kuu didn't eat the card in the meantime! "Safe travels!"
"Bye-bye, Catmon!" Kuu was never going to call Mikemon by his proper name, was he? Too late for that kind of lesson today! After the feline had left, Maia would close the window, and turn back to leave the room, before a thought came to her partner's mind. "Couldn't you have asked Mom to drive him to the train station?"
Biting her lip, Maia took another glance to the window. "I didn't even think about that." Well, it was definitely too late now! Turning the card in her hand over a few times, the teen found that she was still smiling. Maybe there were a couple of decent things that came from participating in that traumatic mission!
