Logan giggled as he was lifted on to the Alphamon's shoulder. The armor was still rather warm from the battle, but not too much. "Heh, glad I could help you, daddy" he said, cuddling his helmet (even if Hikaru probably couldn't feel it.
Then, rather suddenly, the Alphamon shrank and the armor disappeared, revealing his Adult form of Dorugamon. But Logan didn't mind. It meant that he was now sitting on his warm fluffy shoulder, and hugged the fox dragon's head.
Owen sat down as he heard their conversation. "Yeah... I hope I can support you in battle some day, Hikaru" he said, smiling. "I... don't want it to happen though, that you'd have to fight against someone that tough that won't back down until the very end, but, I admire you". Owen could feel his own power growing. He hoped one day that he would be able to support Hikaru as an equal, rather than a lower level that needed protection. While of course Owen wasn't jealous, he wanted their relationship to be equal, and so he hoped to digivolve to the next level soon.
Owen and Logan remained silent as Yuuki said his piece. Logan always knew Yuuki was clever, and something like that resonated with him.
"Yep! We're at the same level" he declared. "Tadao might not be here right now, but, when I'm with him, I bring out the best in him, and he brings out the best in me!"
Logan looked curiously at Ban. "Well... I don't think I've necessarily ever needed to be 'tamed'" the Offmon said. "I mean, I've never had the urge to lose control. And neither has daddy here" he referred to Owen. The Gaogamon hoped that would be the case, a digimon could change drastically when they evolved.
But, from what Owen had seen here, some digimon were different. "I guess... it depends on the digimon?" he ventured. "Some digimon need to be tamed before they can do good. Others... are content to be seen as partners?".
While seemingly wishy-washy, it seemed that many types of digimon existed, the wild ones and the tame ones. He was glad that Logan was already tamed, so he needed no 'tamer'.
Owen didn't really understand this kind of talk, not having any human partner of his own. But he had met enough partner digimon to know it was something deeply special. He then listened to Hikaru, who seemed really sad about something. Knowing that he couldn't do much else to help, Owen padded up to him, rubbing his cheek against his with silent affection.
Then, all at once, another digimon appeared. It was a Mechanorimon. And it was soon established that this was the individual that Yuuki and Hikaru were looking for. Aha, Owen knew they would find him. They hoped that he would be of use to their family.

"Hmmm, looks like you're looking for me, am I right?" the Mechanorimon asked. "How about we move from here? My lab isn't too far down in."
Of course Yuuki got no protest about this. He followed the doctor who tried to make some small talk. "So while I'm not there to see it, can you guys tell me what exactly are you looking for me for? I mean, I see two humans, partnered to two strong digimons... I don't see the need for you to come here exactly if it's about power."
"It's not about power."
"Oh?" he stopped momentarily "...hmmm, I think I can somewhat guess... is it about something related to dark evolution? Many desires way to fix it, but your partner was an Alphamon, so..."
"It's not that also..."
"Huh... well, alright, we're here!" waiting them is a medium sized factory. Inside, instead of machinery, it's mostly filled with countless research data, and at the end is computer which equipped with scanners. "Welcome to my house. I haven't stocked anything though... anything for organic Digimon that is, but regardless... could you please tell me what's the issue then?"
"Well... You see..."
...it took a while for Yuuki to explain it all, but the professor seem to get it. "So basically, due to biomerging, your physical form... somehow took toll... and you're supposed to be... sixteen or seventeen, but you aged rapidly due to it... and not stopping there, your arm somehow turned into metal, was it?"
"Yes, that's how it is."
The professor made a thoughtful humm before he looked at Dante. "Then young man over there, I sense higher power from you and your Digimon. Have you encountered similar issue?"

"I believe we have rambled on enough about our views, we should hear what a professional thinks." Ban said, wondering what kind of knowledge this scientist bared, he padded along, listening intently, he felt no need to speak as of yet, as the good doctor seemed more interested in Yuuki's condition that Ban had not noticed in the slightest, as well as the power potential of Dante and his digimon. He was also still curious about the story of these "Goddesses" or "Dark Triad", as it seems the one the most knowledgeable about it all was far too exhausted to give a proper explanation.
As the group arrived, he examined the technology, impressed by it's appearance, but being hopelessly clueless as to the uses of the various mechanisms and buttons. He concluded the best idea was not to touch anything of interest, choosing instead to listen to Yuuki's story about his condition, not speaking up yet as he would prefer the words of a professional to his own guesswork. He was somewhat worried of being detected by Dr. D's sensors, before deciding there wouldn't be much harm regardless, and relaxed, besides, it seems the humans were of more interest either way.

Seeing Logan hugging his dad cheered Dante up. Hopefully they wouldn't hold anything against Wormmon for that outburst. Dante accompanies the others to Mechanorimon's lab. Dante knows people who can understand all the fancy data and computer programs, but he himself was unfamiliar with such technology. Leafmon continues to doze off in Dante's bag. Was the Worm King really exhausted after the battle? Probably, but now that Willow has her original memories back, how will that change his partner's behavior?
Apparently Yuuki had more serious problems than met the eye. His age had been rapidly accelerating due to biomerging. The doctor turns to Dante to ask if he had a similar experience. "No, nothing like this before. We've never biomerged. You are right, my partner Willow is quite powerful, probably too much for our own good!" This Mechanorimon must know some pretty advanced things about Digimon. Dante focuses on the doctor to learn anything that might be of use. After they take care of Yuuki, Dante might ask him about the tamer Tatsumi. Though with DATS apparently defunct, it probably didn't make much difference now. He had joined on too late when they were on their last leg, and now Dante is thinking about where his allegiance should be.

Owen padded alongside the group as they walked with Mechanorimon. Logan meanwhile was content to ride on Hikaru's head, somewhat glad that both of his parents were so soft. Indeed, he saw what had happened as a somewhat brilliant show, since nobody got really hurt in the end. And Logan couldn't hold a grudge against someone who didn't seriously hurt those he cared about, especially if they had apologized like Leafmon had.
Once inside the lab, Owen decided he'd best de-digivolve back to his Rookie form. At least as a Gaomon he'd be less likely to knock over valuable objects. He then stood by Hikaru and Logan, waiting for Mechanorimon to hopefully come up with a solution to their problems.
Logan meanwhile, a little like Ban, was curious about all these scientific gadgets around the place, but for the moment, chose not to take a closer look at them. After all, he didn't want to cause a distraction when this was so important for his father's partner.
Then the talk of biomerging made Logan curious. He looked down at Owen and Hikaru. "Do you think one day I'll biomerge with Tadao?" he asked them.
"Well... uh... you might?" Owen ventured forth with the possibility. "Although there's no real way to know until you reach Mega level. Let's just get to you Champion first, eh, pal?"
"Hehe, okay" Logan giggled.

"I heard there are two ways of achieving that, Logy," Hikaru pointed out. "Burst mode or biomerge. Whichever you prefer you should consult to your partner, OK?" the beast dragon strokes his son's cheek with his tail. He listened to the rest of the conversation, but... he still have no idea what makes Ban so tense.... and apparently neither did Dr. D...
"What, did my equipment scares you? Don't worry, they're the type that need you to enter to scan afterall. I don't do scanning without people's permission... hmmm, even so, that's odd... so you haven't reached the next stage yet despite having enough power for it, young man? Interesting, interesting... Hmmm meanwhile you, on the other hand managed to do it already... but for some reason no longer possess that power."
The doctor sat on his specially made chair before pressing a button to call up platform with sofas on them.
"Please do sit... also, that young man over there, I might need to scan you," he pointed at Yuuki. "I can't promise I have the cure, but certainly scanning your biological structure might help me in bettering the understanding on Digivice... ah, I forgot, but can I borrow your Digivice a bit? Of course I'll return it to you. I just need the data exhaust history."
"...Data... exhaust?"
"My, you have no idea? Digivice turns human emotions to power... this is well known, but ultimately what leads Digimon to evolve is the data. That's why, the Digivice temporarily converts the emotions and energy in Digimon into data to achieve the next stage. However, exhausting yourself definitely could make you degenerate to the lower level... you can say, by composition, partnered Digimons are slightly more fragile than solo Digimon? Because Solo Digimon, under same stress burdened to them like partnered Digimon, often did not degenerate.
Back to the topic, data exhaust history is not something you can normally pry, but I have my way of doing it... if I can access that I might know where the anomaly started... Of course, if you don't trust me, I understand. Mainly because yes, this is afterall, something that is barely legal... but I assure you, Digivice is a mysterious object... it's far more powerful and resilient than you think. Despite being called Digivice professor, I'm sure I only scratched its surface..."
Yuuki wondered for a moment then handed his Digivice to the doctor. He took a while examining it. "...Curious, curious, it's more detailed than the usual ones I'm researching... Alright, let me try scanning for it."
And so, the scanning began. The Digivice is put inside a small capsule and scanned inside a chamber. The data that came out seem to be very interesting to the professor as he hummed thoughfully while at times gleefully going 'ho ho ho'.
"...Interesting, interesting. Not a normal biomerge either..."

A lot of this information was absolutely fascinating, and made Ban realize that the other information he had heard before was by people without an inkling of an idea on digivices, regardless, he listened intently, at how digimon naturally revert, as transforming for them seems to take more energy, "Hm? Hold on, if that is true, then how can Hikaru maintain his mega form for such a long time?" He wondered, asking both the doctor, Yuuki, and Hikaru, as any of them could have the answer. But he was also interested in how apparently Dante had the potential of super mega, yet apparently today was the first time they even reached mega level, were they that frightened of their own potential? Ban definitely needed to watch his step around those two, even at his full power a fight between him and the potential of this human and his digimon would lead to monstrous collateral.

Dante sits down on the couch and leans back. Fortunately the others seemed accepting enough of Leafmon's, condition. Dr. D tells him that apparently they have the power to reach even higher than Mega. "Really? But how? I know that I intentionally held Archnemon back from digivolving further, but this was pretty much the first time that we encountered a threat that couldn't be dealt with at Ultimate, all things considering. But, biomerge? Data exhaust?" It's true, the good doctor really did know a lot. He even has the awareness to realize that there are further mysteries about Digimon and the digivices tied to some of them that even he doesn't yet understand.
As Dr. D examines Yuuki's digivice, Leafmon hears the words "barely legal" and wakes back up, popping his head out of the bag. "Hmm?" The fresh faced Worm King looks around the room at the unfamiliar devices. "Whoah, this kind of stuff looks confusing. You would need some computer nerd like Shirou to understand this." "Don't worry, little buddy. I'm getting lost too." Biomerging is a confusing subject to the duo. Even Logan is excited about the possibility, but that wouldn't happen for quite a while for now.
Leafmon looks up at his human. "Dante? Didn't we biomerge one time? You know, at the end of the Data Core tournament?" "Well we did become one, so it's sort of like that, but that was inside a computer generated virtual reality. However, Dr. D says that we are already capable of biomerging." "Really? But, it took so long before I digivolved to super sexy Lilithmon. Can we try it?" Dante's expression goes from relaxed to nervous. "Uh, I wasn't too thrilled about Mega. How about we wait a while before unleashing Armageddon again? Even if we biomerged, I don't know if I could control that form, or if you would wind up blowing up everything in sight." "That's ridiculous, Dante!... Not everything..."
Dante quietly chuckles. If they really could biomerge, it would have to take a threat that even Lilithmon and Alphamon couldn't handle, and Dante sure doesn't want to meet that mon. Ban may be right to keep an eye on the pair. There's no telling what Wormy will do if Lilithmon returns. Or, is the Worm King putting on a façade, acting all innocent and cute while secretly planning something dastardly. "Ooh, look at that, Dante! It looks like a laser gun. Can I play with it?" "I... don't think so. Why don't you just hang out and relax some more? Doctor D is examining Yuuki's digivice, and we don't need to distract him." There's a whole lot of questions Dante wants to ask the doctor. Has he heard about the Data Core? Or what about the proto-device that could create gruesome Digimon? But right now they are here for Yuuki. If Dr. D can't help him with his condition, well then who the hell can?!

Logan appreciated Hikaru's petting treatment. "Okay..." he said, his eyes sparking with excitement. "Well... biomerging sounds so cool, I mean, joining forces with your partner... when I'm a Super Ultimate level, I want to make sure Tadao's there with me".
Owen didn't really understand this way of thinking. But, well, his boyfriend and son both had human partners, so, he supposed that Logan wanted to be like Hikaru. "Hehe, okay, if you're sure" he said.
Owen and Logan watched as the digimon doctor scanned Yuuki. Both of them wanted him to get better. Owen then paid attention to Ban's question.
"I guess maybe experience?" he suggested. Since Yuuki and Hikaru had been partners for a long time, they would obviously be a bit more in sync. This talk about digivices was above Owen's knowledge, but Logan was paying attention. After all, he intended to tell this to Tadao so he'd know how to use his digivice later on when the time came.

"Ah, I can answer that," Hikaru interjected. "When you got to level as high as me, and in battlefield for long, energy expenditure become something that you can roughly guess after a while. Before we got here and got in that spar, I only flew and activates barrier anyway, so it's not that much of an issue. It's still considered a light action. Evolution is like stamina. The more you are used to a form, the better your control for that form would become. However, even if I said that, the energy expenditure is quite a serious issue.
Despite I just sit and do nothing, my energy actually still drained. I think if I'm at Perfect stage, my energy won't be spent as long as I just sit and do nothing.... but it won't recover either. I'm using Alphamon form mainly just to prepare in case we need to delve to the deeper part, like underground or something."
It's seem to be right on time as Doctor D finished his scanning.
"Alright, let's see... the little analysis said that you... used your biomerged state for prolonged time... like about more than three hours... and at times going for a full day... You know that this is pretty much risking yourself right?"
"Right..."
"How can you sustain it?"
"...By eating a lot, resting a lot and overall taking shifts. However, I think I pretty much put more energy into it compared to usual biomerge..."
"and it affected you more severely. Listen, young man," Doctor D start speaking with Yuuki "in case where the biomerge happened with normal person, they normally sustaining it by going 50:50 with their Digimon. This is the mutual biomerging, where you completely shares the burden into two. Half for the human, half into Digimon... however, from your data history, I can see that when you biomerge, you set it to 70:30. This means you're going to battle akin to spirit user. Digimon helping you and you wield power of the Digimon... this uneven distribution... unfortunately would cost you more. by going 70:30, you're putting more risk to your body. Normally when normally any human biomerged with their Digimon and got wounded, minor, shallow wounds would not be transferred to their real body, and at most will just end as a minor scratch or slight wounds... but by going 70:30... you're putting your body directly in harm, assuming that the enemies would harm you. A slash wound will really be translated as slash wound after you unmerged..."
"yes, this is true..."
"but what is more, biomerging for more than allocated time, by any means, simply asking your DNA to be fused with Digimon's data... your arm is byproduct of that. You're bonded too closely, without protection, bypassing proper limit."
"...So what you're saying is..."
"...I'm sorry, but to heal your arm, you need to separate the data between you two... either breaking the partnership--"
Yuuki flinched at that word, but Dr. D luckily not done yet
"Or you can get back here again after you got your biomerge.... and we can try again."

Ban nodded, "I see, in short, it is just more difficult for you than with solo digimon like myself, but not impossible." He explained, simplifying it for himself so recalling it will be much easier, for later. "And maintaining this form is simply a precaution, yes? Well, I can understand that much." He admitted, his question answered, he sat, silently, as the Doctor explained the situation, he heard a certain term that rang a bell, in his head, and he took a moment, trying to recall. "Spirit evolution... Ah, you mean when humans physically call upon the strength of past powerful digimon, correct?" He asked Dante, this time, as Yuuki and Hikaru were busy discussing with the doctor. He then overheard their options, and turned to them, giving his spin on the choices, "Biomerging sounds like it has a fair share of peril involved, but I can tell you two don't really see the first idea as an option. From what I hear, you cannot simply rush this transformation. I would take my time, and try to find the answer in rigorous training, but human biology might not permit that as an option, I suppose this isn't something I could, or should answer. You two have your own bond, from my perspective, I can only promote caution, but that may not be your choice, which matters most here." He said, somewhat frustrated he could not be much help in this scenario, no matter how brightly his warrior spirit burned, this was not an issue that willpower alone can solve.

So it seems that Yuuki's connection is the cause, and battle damage Hikaru receives is being split. Is this a normal part of biomerging? Dante didn't really know much about it. But apparently, there is a solution. The problem is their connection would have to be severed. Was that even possible? Dante doesn't know why Digimon can form a bond with some humans, but what makes these bonds? And how would you break it? Thinking back, he remembers Gabumon Black and his tamer having a falling out, and they went their separate ways. But did that break the bond?
Ban the Elecmon asks Dante about spirit evolution. He knew about it, but didn't know they were summoning strength from ancient Digimon. "Ya, I've seen a few times. They are usually quite powerful, even at Champion." It was hard to stay relaxed with so much at stake. This wasn't going to be a simple fix. Even as well read as Doctor D. is, they are tinkering with complex things that haven't been discovered. Almost like they are playing with fire. Dante tries not to stress out too much about it. He only just met Yuuki, but he wants to see him get better. Maybe if the gang wasn't preoccupied with the problem at hand, it would be a little less tense.
"Hmm, so either try to break the partnership, or biomerge and see if that makes a difference. I guess you should try biomerging first." "Ohh, I wanna biomerge! Then again, maybe combining with Dante wouldn't be such a great thing. Ya, it would definitely be a downgrade!" Leafmon's digs fail to land. "There's got to be something that triggered this. When did the connection start going off kilter?" "Hey, Dante. Aren't you listening? I'm insulting you. Oh it's useless." Leafmon also wants to help Yuuki, but there's not much he can do. "I can't believe I'm stuck at this stage. I'm not a cuddly baby, I'm the champ! Dante! Can you find us a game to play? Maybe DD has some sweet video games." "This isn't the time for games, pal. Just wait a while, and soon you'll digivolve."

(OOC: Sorry for the delay, I just got no idea how to do this).
Still, Owen was failing to keep track of the conversation. The Gaomon at least tried to look like he was understanding what was going on, but, in the end, didn't really. His eyes were glancing at the tools in the lab, wondering what their purpose was. Voices talking about things that didn't really involve him washed through his head.
However, his attention snapped back when he heard something truly horrible mentioned by the doctor. "What?!" he asked, hearing that Yuuki and Hikaru may have to split apart as partners in order for the human to heal, but, a more better option would be to wait until they could biomerge.
"Yeah, I think the biomerge option is best" Logan said, still atop Hikaru's head. "So... long story short, nothing much we can do about it today?" he asked the researcher, slightly disappointed that nothing could be done for his dad's partner at this stage.

"I'm sure these two won't rush it," Dr. D commented. "Afterall, these two already been there, done that as far as I can see from the data exhaust history... Which mean you two know that you two haven't been at that stage since then, right? Not only that, the journey is still far."
"Right," both of them nodded.
"...But I think if you two gone to that point again... we can attempt to separate the data... the one plaguing your body. However, this means you'll lose that eyes too...is that fine?"
Yuuki looks slightly confused as why the doctor seem to notice that he doesn't have normal eyes.
"Heh heh, I might be an Adult stage, but I'm not a fool. I can see that you don't even need to look below when we walked down here. The road wasn't even the smoothest and the light was dim, but you could walk on them so easily without torch. This means that you got gift other than the weakness. The matter is will you keep the eyes and stay with the arm or will you terminates both?"
Yuuki thought about it for a while. Indeed, if he stay like this, he might be able to use his eyes for ruins searching. However, his arm would be a fatal fault if he want to help himself in dangerous situation. Meanwhile if he lose the gift of his eyes that is almost literally need no light to see, he could have problem in determining traps around the places.
"...Ah, but do not worry, little Offmon. I can help your friend here in de-age him."
"...You can de-age me?"
"It's less complex than your arm. At least you can be in your age proper, are you fine with that?"
"Let's go with it then."
"Very well, step inside the capsule," Dr. D pointed at the nearby glass tube that looks like a portal. Of course Yuuki got inside of it soon after. After tinkering with the setting, the doctor nodded. Soon, the machine began to do its job until finally, what appeared on the capsule is...
Seventeen years old Yuuki with slightly baggy clothes.
"...Looks like it's working," he muttered, whistling at his new form. "...and good news that the metal arm... is slightly lighter."
"Well, you at 17 years old and you at 20 years old have different muscle mass afterall. But this is the best I can do so far. I hope you don't mind?"
"This is good enough, thank you, doctor."
"All is well.Thank you for the data too. Now I can further my research... Now, do you have any other business with me?"

He nodded, at Dante's brief explanation, "I see, so when a partner digimon does it, the transformation's results must be remarkable." he then took the job of hearing Wormmon's jibes to Dante, "Well, If I was him, I wouldn't be thrilled to fuse with one so careless," He countered the in-training's weak attempts at an insult, before his attention was stolen by Yuuki stepping into a device, and emerging smaller. This was interesting, perhaps this was that age issue from before? It seems his age is no longer an issue, so that is good. The doctor wondered what else anyone could want from him. Ban considered asking if he could restore his strength, but decided regaining it through his own effort would yield better future results, so he kept quiet, besides, gaining that much power would require that energy to begin with, and he doubted the champion level would have the power equivalent to a super mega level simply lying about, so he shrugged aside that idea, and kept quiet.
