Certainly with how long he had been out and about in the wilds of the world he wasn't expecting a miracle. What was expecting was good spread out business; things that you would expect to see in the human. Perhaps the digimon tolerated things differently than their human counterparts. Perhaps the human's ways of doing things as far as business was concerned wasn't good for the digital world.
The empty homes and business' that he came across certainly made him shake his head ever so slightly. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do in the long run; they just weren't staying in the places he had thought they would. The places that they said they would. Instead they were dark, no lights on and often a mess within. One such building was collapsed but oddly empty.
Every single one of them were empty, a good thirty locations. He was starting to get irritated. The well dressed man had spent most of the day irritably checking place after place. Now that night was creeping up on him he wasn't sure what to do with himself. He constantly was looking about; trying to recall if he had any other business' that he had worked with in the past that might of still been about.
"None at all it seems. what is one supposed to do when business has dried up?"
He sighed a little bit, walking through the emptying digital streets. They were just like people in some cases. Hurrying to their homes before the night even was started. It was something frustrating. Those that remained had a good purpose behind them as well. Some making idle rounds akin to guards while others seemed to keep going like nothing was happening. He found himself examining a few digital stalls; goods on display and the digimon attending it eyeing him curiously. Finding a quaint little bauble; he gave the digimon the bits for it before moving away from the stall, turning it over in his hand. Something like a snow globe but of the city when it seemed to be young still.
"Interesting."
Taking a seat on one of the many benches that lined the streets; one that was not taken by a few digimon. He didn't recognize anyone that passed by or that were sitting on the few benches he could see. Turning the globe over in his hands over and over again the man mused quietly. He'd tap his head with the side of the globe, the cold surface bringing those thoughts again.
Silence Kan. That's all there is now.
Aye that there is. But you know what they say about silence, a storms coming something fierce.
Sighing softly he'd place his hands on his legs, the Globe resting between his right hand and his right leg. The gentle but amused thoughts running through his mind several times over. What was he supposed to do? Other than hope and want more at this point?

Kan was not the only one visiting Terminus City today. Melina, with her partner at that, was also visiting the city and like always had landed herself in hot water. She had decided to get a little too frisky with a certain virus type Digimon, a very attractive one at that, and now she was running for her life through the streets! The first Kan would hear of any trouble would be the sound of what sounded like a wave of water moving down the streets which couldn't be right; why would there be a flood in the city? It was only as Kan kept exploring and turning corners, if he did, that he would see what looked like a gigantic wave of yellow squishy things. As the wave got closer to him moving rapidly down the street he would see a human form running as fast as her legs would carry her to out run the wave of Numemon. The identity of this women would be revealed as Melina if one took the time to focus.
As Melina ran down the street, carrying her partner underneath her arm as she had the longer legs, she eventually ran past Kan and would turn around to look at him running backwards. "Oh hey guy! Say hi Yukimi!" Sadly Yukimi, on account of being carried under Melina's and shook about for so long, looked immensely queasy her face green as if she was about to throw up. Sadly Yukimi was by no means able to speak and so meekly waved a claw up at Kan before Melina kept on running. It was with good reason that she did not stay too long to chat as an angry wave of Numemon, far too numerous to actually fight even if you were a high level Digimon, were in swift pursuit! Kan would need to move and move fast least he end up being quite literally washed away by the angry wave of yellow Digimon! Whatever reason the Numemon had for chasing Melina the only way to find out would be to ask....but ask who?

A portal was opening up in front of Kan and a girl was walking out of it, in her arms she was carrying Nyao the Blackgatomon. The girl casually walked past Kan without noticing him, she had no facial expression whatsoever just stared ahead on the way she walked.
That is until she saw a familiar face: A woman named Melina running away from a horde of nomemon. The sight made Katsura sigh. Somehow this woman can't stay away from trouble, how Melina managed to aggravate so many nomemon was something Katsura pondered about in disbelief.
Katsura turned to Nyao. "How many turds can you take down?" "Not that many, not without putting up a good fight at least." Nyao responded. Despite the depressing response, Nyao nevertheless took a fighting stance and prepared to jump out of Katsura's arms at a seconds notice.

What kan certainly was not expecting was to run into Melina so soon, or rather her run into past him. She was on the run from a rather large group of Numemon; for whatever reason he could not tell and honestly there wasn't much of a time to ask her considering the wave. Who was he supposed to really ask anyways? The wave of digimon chasing after her? No they'd just wash over him and he'd rather not get his clothing dirty at this point. The wave from Yukimi would illicit a small one in return; something was off but he wasn't going to learn it from just standing here.
The next surprising bit was a portal opening up in front of the spirit user. Some girl he had never seen, ignoring him or just not noticing the fact he was there. That was fine all considered. However she seemed to want to fight the oncoming wave of Numemon. He didn't really feel like that was the proper choice; in fact with so many he found himself curtly trotting after Melina. While his gait was no where near sufficient to catch up or keep out of the reach of the forthcoming Numemon it didn't much matter after what happened next.
Digivice in hand kan was engulfed by a extremely bright light; his form warped and shifted until it was about ten or so feet tall. When the light cleared his trotting was easily making him catch up to the woman; figuring that the other would likely follow them after a brief fight.
"Don't suppose you know why they're chasing after you?"
Holding out one of his arms to the woman in such a manner that indicated an offer to carry her seeing as he'd rather not spend too much time running and more time calmly talking things out.
"Mind you I can fly and I know Numemon's can't."

As Melina looked back while running she saw a portal opening up and out came...Katsura?! Boy the sudden arrival of Timothy's secret girlfriend and her partner was surely more than a coincidence! "Hey Katsura! I strongly suggest you leg it! There's a lot of them!" A lot of them was an understatement. There was thousands of the Numemon and while yes they were only Numemon, who were rather weak individually, thousands of them could make up the difference. Melina had the right idea as she ran as fast as she her legs could carry her fleeing in the opposite direction. She knew there was no way in hell she could fight off a massive horde numbering in the thousands! Hopefully Katsura would decide against fighting however, given the combat stance the black cat had adopted, that was rather unlikely! At least Kan had the right idea as he broke out into a run following after Melina.
"Yeah I do! Tried to have a bit of fun with a Lilithmon. She had a sick rack so couldn't really help myself!" Seeing Kan's extended hand Melina jumped into it and got comfy. "My hero!~ Still...Katsura's partner evolves into a black bondage queen who can fly, I think, so I am sure she can get out too!" Melina looked back to Katsura and yelled. at the top of her lungs. "Hey Kat and Cat! I'm getting out of here you're welcome to come with! I'll be at the Data Mine!" The Data Mine was a bar that Melina had grown rather fond of and so it had swiftly become her haunt a place she visited when there was little else to do. "Hear that Kan? To the Data Mine!" Melina held onto her rather queasy partner more concerned with not dropping her than falling out of Kan's embrace; she was not going to just abandon her partner here.

While Katsura was contemplating what to do, Kan already seemed to get the right idea: Just getting Melina out of there. The best idea Katsura could come up with was to have Nyao scare all the Nomemon away but that would have exposed Melina to her worst nightmare. Instead Katsura looked up at that flying... Thing trying to rescue Melina.
(Why is everyone I meet crazy?) Katsura thought. Meanwhile Katsura listened to Melina's yelling for them to join her at something called the Data Mine, Katsura sighed and turned to Nyao. "Sigh I guess we have to, who knows what that lady will get herself into next time?" With a cringe, Katsura took out her digidevice. As she did, Nyao jumped out of Katsura's arms as a light from her digidevice shot out, was magnified through her tag and then hit Nyao. "Blackgatomon digivolve to... LadyDevimon!"
A second later, a black bondage queen Fallen angel was standing in front of Katsura. The angel toke off from the ground, made a short loop to get behind of Katsura. It then hugged Katsura firmly on the hips before flying up in the sky and started following after Kan.

It seemed to kan that Melina knew the person that they had left behind. Even going so far to call out to them and suggest that they leave as well. He didn't want to think about how many of the Numemon's there were. It'd take a long time of him floating out of their reach while throwing orb after orb to take care of them all. If they had any form of ranged attack he'd likely be able to brush off quite alot but it'd still add up after a while. To Melina's explanation kan found himself snorting softly; the massive form of Kryptmon shifting slightly with a chuckle.
"Never once thought of trying that; seems she didn't appreciate it. Though it's surprising that so many Numemon's are chasing after you for something like that."
Kan shifted his grip ever so slightly around Melina so that she didn't really have to worry about falling off. Unless she actively jumped off of him then he wouldn't really be able to stop her. But he doubted she'd do something so brash.
"Anytime. If that wasn't the case I might of had to turn around to go pick them up too. But then again I don't think they'd appreciate that."
Kan raised his eyebrows ever so slightly; he hadn't been to the data mine before. He had heard of it in passing but never really thought to go there. Kan nodded a little bit before flying a little higher so that even if the numemon did catch up they'd be hard pressed to do anything about them. He could go for quite far in this form so he wouldn't have any issue getting them to the bar. Heading towards where he knew the bar to be the spirit user scratched his head.
"I've never been to the Data mine, but I know where it is somewhat. You can imagine I don't drink too often."
He'd turn his head so that he could see if the two had made good escape from the numemon. From what he could see they too were airborne. Snorting once more he'd lash his tail and continue forward, not really sure what else he could mention to melina at this point.

Yukimi was firmly held by Melina who was firmly held, bridal style at that, in the arms of Kan meaning they were all hopefully safe for now! As the bondage queen scooped her human partner up and took off the Numemon flood would stop and look up then begin to throw...poop. Yes they would start throwing turds through the air at Kan and the bondage queen. "Dodge the poop Kan! I did my hair this morning and don't want it to get ruined!" Of all the things Melina could have been worried about in this situation she was worried not about the poop or falling to the ground but about her hair being ruined; she really did have skewered priorities didn't she? "Well she was walking around being all stuck up and haughty. I just couldn't resist the chance messing with her~ It's always fun to upset haughty chicks~" Melina giggled and looked up at Kan realising he was carrying her bridal style. Yukimi was sadly indisposed on account of the fact she was still feeling queasy.
"Gosh being carried bridal style~ I am touched~ Thanks big man." She reached up to his chin wrapping her fingers around it her face moving in closely as if to kiss Kan.....was she seriously going to kiss him?! Of course not you moron. Instead Melina would flash a sly smirk and let go of Kan's chin before pulling Yukimi up onto her lap holding the Digimon close. Carrying the Black Agumon under her arm had worked while running but now, as she was flying over the city, it was rather dangerous hence why Yukimi found herself held close to her tamer's chest. "Oh you don't have to worry about Katsura and her partner. Nyao turns into a flying bondage queen so...a rather hot one at that actually. Still I am concerned the Numemon may have overheard my yelling." That was a valid concern that the horde of angry poop Digimon had heard Melina yelling about how she planned to meet up at the Data Mine. That said Numemon were not known for being the brightest Digimon around...
"Yes it is kind of obvious~ You have the demeanour of somebody too stiff to let loose~" So far Melina's impression of Kan, after all they barely knew each other, was that he was rather stiff in terms of personality but as today had shown he was at least willing to lend a hand! On the subject of that hand Kan would, eventually, land outside the Data Mine and drop Melina off. Still carrying her partner she would hop out of Kan's arms and land on the ground carefully setting Yukimi down. "There...you feeling better Yukimi?" Melina smiled down and carefully pet her partner on the head who, almost magically, seemed to instantly begin feeling better; she really must have HATED flying huh? "Urp...yeah.....now that we've stopped running and flying...." She walked into the bar followed by Melina. By the time Kan joined her he would find Melina and her partner sitting at a table gesturing for him to join them. Hopefully Katsura would get away safely from the horde of murderpoops without suffering too many turd based attacks! It was unpleasant to be essentially pelted with turds after all.

Shooting a target in the air is generally not an easy task this was no exception. Already high up in the sky, Nyao could smell a horrible stench miles away.
"Hmm?" Nyao said and looked towards the in lack for better words projective. Nyao nonchalantly moved her large left hand towards it and a large swarm of bats made from dark energy flew towards the poop, blew it up and was heading towards the horde of nomemon. This will hurt them badly if hit, Nyao then resumed holding Katsura tightly. Nyao was only few minutes behind Kan and would arrive shortly after and then carefully set Katsura down

Shaking his head and moving quickly out of the trajectory of the projectiles; the reasoning that Melina had made sense but could seem petty to some. He was not some. He'd rather not smell of the sort either; or get it in a place where it'd sting. The mega tier spirit didn't have any issue dodging those slow attacks in the least and was quickly out of sight of the horde of digimon.
"Done, I wouldn't want to get hit by that stuff either. Would reek for days I'd imagine. Huh. Would explain the reaction of so many numemon then. A severe over-reaction then. "
He'd blink when he realized how he was carrying the other human, not really expecting what she was doing yet again. She seemed to like to tease him; though he'd give her a confused look which was followed by a soft nervous cough. This wasn't really the time for that was it? Frowning slightly at the mention of the other tamer and how the Numemon might of overheard her yelling. Letting a shrug roll off his shoulders he figured that if they decided to follow them he could take care of things. They may of been a horde, but what was a horde of rookies against a mega that could stay out of reach... and throw attacks that took up so much space? It was just simply a matter of time.
"I won't worry then. If they overheard you and try to raise trouble at the Data mine I can imagine there would be more than just us there to retaliate. But then again, a mega against a swarm of rookies. Would take a bit but I could dissuade them.
She then made mention that he was too stiff to let loose; she wasn't really wrong. He didn't have many friends of his age, most of the people he did know were younger than him. He couldn't really go out and party with them could he? Then again he was never really the partying type. He'd let out a soft sigh and another shake of the head.
"Melina, I'm constantly surrounded by children, run a shop and have to tend to business here. It's not so much stiff as being overworked. I'd actually love to relax for once."
He'd admit plainly; there wasn't alot of opportunity for him to do so. It was kind of irritating but it was sort of his life. Finding that when he landed that she was quick to dismount; he couldn't blame her. He wasn't really the most comfortable form of transportation. Stretching just a little bit before shifting back to human; his spirit grumpily going back to sleep. Kyrptmon as a spirit didn't really seem to care too much about the between compared to the others which was certainly nice.
Kan glanced down the street and shook his head, knowing full well that the numemon's might be coming here. Regardless of the threat of that he'd trot into the Data mine, fully intending to get something to drink. He'd raise his brows a little bit but take the invitation to join Melina. He'd of course sit down, shaking his head and shooting Melina a curious look.
"So why here out of all places?"

Sitting inside the Data Mine at her favourite table, which a few weeks earlier had been destroyed in a certain little brawl, Melina was glad to see the table was now fixed as boy where else could she sit with friends for a round of drinks?! Admiring herself, or more accurately checking her clothing over, Melina was glad to see that Kan had managed to steer them clear of the poop based projectiles that had been launched at them. It was the same for Yukimi who, oddly enough, had decided to order herself some food which probably wasn't the best idea. Still at least neither of them had been pelted with flying turds which was always a plus. "Man Kan..never thought I'd be concerned about getting hit by flying turds. You alright Yukimi?" Looking back from the bar, where she was waiting from her food, Yukimi would clear her throat. "Yeah better now....may I never have to fly again." Clearly the dinosaur's first experience with aerial travel had not been a pleasant one.
Looking towards the door Melina had to admit she was a little puzzled about Kan's delayed entrance but eventually he decided to join Melina sitting at her table. "You work with children? Pffffffft...yeah can't see it. Not with that furry mug of yours." Furry mug was an understatement. With those giant ass sideburns on his face Melina would have been surprised if they didn't contain a years worth of food supply in the form of crumbs but she'd keep that to herself. "Well there's no little ankle biters here so feel free to relax as much as you like...as for why I picked this place? They don't water their stuff down. Food's sick too. I didn't think Digimon could cook human food so well." That food was why Yukimi loved this place so much! Speaking of which the Black Dinosaur walked over with her favourite food...spaghetti. Ever since Melina had cooked it at home Yukimi had just been obsessed with the stuff not that one could blame her.
"I wonder what's taking Kat and the bondage queen so long....did you see her land behind you Kan?[/color]" Melina took her tumbler of scotch off the Angewomon working as a waitress who, judging by the expression on her face, was rather embarrassed; perhaps she was new here as Melina had never seen her working here before. Despite how little Melina knew about Katsura, and their interactions being limited to an incident involving an angry murderous Turkey, she could not help but feel a certain amount of worry for her. After all it was Melina's fault that rampaging hoard of Numemon had been flinging their faecal matter at Katsura so she would hate for the two of them to end up in danger. "I am sure she's fine Melina. Nyao is an ultimate level Digimon." That was true yes. Nyao COULD Digivolve to Ultimate level but that didn't mean she was invincible; not even the most powerful Digimon was utterly immune to harm. That reasoning only had the further harm of causing Melina to grow more worried; what if Katsura and Nyao had been shot out of the sky?!

Likely to Melina's relief, the travel went uneventful for Katsura and Nyao. Few minutes after Kan, Nyao landed on her feet as if this was nothing. There, Nyao carefully sat down Katsura. "We're here" Nyao said as she started to glow, a moment later the angel was gone and a cat jumped into Katsura's arms.
In the hopes that Melina hadn't caused too much trouble, Katsura opened the door to the Data Mine and found both sitting at a table. Thankfully nothing seemed out of the norm aside from a lingering eye to an angemon to which Katsura sighed. Katsura found her way to the table and nodded to Melina.

"Niether have I, I think the last thing that people think about when they go to the digital world is 'flying turds'."
Kan shook his head slightly and took in the Data mine's interior; it was pretty standard from what he could tell. Past the fact that there were digimon working here instead of people you could just feel a sense of seedy normalcy here. He might have to order something to eat later; but he doubted that their food would exactly be quality. It was probrably part of the reason why he never went out in the first place.
"I own and run a shop in Society hill, most of the time my business runs around fixing things for kids that just end up breaking their electronics or it's ilk. It can be a little frustrating as you can imagine."
He didn't blame her for doubting him in the least bit; his appereance would likely be intimidating for younger kids but as he was the one doing the work so to speak... They'd warm up pretty fast. Melina had a point however when there were no kids here; why would a kid come to a bar after all?
"You have a point and that's as good reason as any to come here. I might do well without the food though; had something earlier."
He'd glance around again; noting the Angewoman serving as a waitress. It was strange to see one working in a bar and not at some guardpost in Luminas or something. Then again who was he to judge someone's choice of work? Gesturing for the waitress he'd put an order in for some beer and turn back to melina once he was done. He didn't figure the woman for a skotch drinker. What did he expect though? He couldn't really say at this point. He'd shake his head ever so slightly at her question.
"No, we were a bit faster than they were mind you."
At mention of their level; he had no doubt that his mega tier spirit was faster than an ultimate digimon. Though he was still getting used to using the spirit so it wouldn't really be as fast as it properly could be. He figured that they would be here sometime soon; given the difference of response time. Though he didn't really know Katsura, they likely couldn't be all bad. You didn't make it to ultimate tier in this world without having to do some crazy things. Not even a few moments later someone that he recognized as the youth that stepped into the Data mine. They didn't seem to be all too talkative however seeing as they just came over and nodded to melina.
Finding himself frowning slightly; he'd turn to the angewoman as she came over with his drinks. It was just a few beers and that was pretty much it; he didn't really want anything too much stronger. He didn't have a good liqour tolerance as he drank rarely. Having one beer in hand; he'd eye Katsura. Going with the name that the others were using
"So you must be Kat."

"Ahaha! Kat Nyao! Welcome! Come join us! I'll buy you all a round!" Melina gestured for Katsura and Nyao to join her seeming to have forgot that Katsura was only fourteen but the truth of the matter she hadn't! She could just get Kat something like juice or a soft drink. "Well...a round of something non-alcoholic for you I think Kat." Luckily even a bar/restaurant combo as seedy as the Data Mine had menus on the table. One may think from the general seedy nature of the Data Mine it's food was terrible and the drinks were terrible but neither was true. The owner had just ended up inheriting a place of business that, despite his best efforts to make it a upstanding establishment, still attracted a rougher element. Oh well at least they paid and rarely caused too many problems...except a couple of rare incidents such as that one with the Ogremon last week; that damn brute had smashed up some tables and probably would have done more were it not for the actions of a few certain individuals.
"So you run a repair shop for stuff kids break...Jesus man talk about boring. I work I.T. Providing tech support for a big firm. Pays a lot and with good reason: most of those morons don't even know how to set a computer up for first time use." It was when the Angewomen came to drop off the drinks, and then begin to walk away, Melina stopped her with a simple wave of the hand hoping she hadn't seemed too rude. "That's for your boss. As apology for his table. I loved that table man. Fifty bits of that is a tip for ya too."The waitress blushed in shock staring at the rather large amount of money; a few hundred was rather potent and the risk of it being stolen was why Melina included the tip to hopefully dissuade the Angewomen from stealing it all. Of course who would expect an upstanding angel class Digimon to be a petty thief? That was sooooooooooooooo unlikely...pffffft as if. Being an angel Digimon didn't mean you were a noble paragon of justice.
"So Kat this is Kan. Don't mind him I know he looks like a scary bear but he's a a grumpy softie." Turning her gaze from the waitress back to Kat and Nyao Melina observed the two of them pouting on account of the fact Nyao had De-Digivolved. "Well there goes the cute bondage queen..oh well~ Say Nyao don't you have some like connection to the Angewomen species? Oh and sorry about dragging you two into that mess~ Those Numemon were just a little upset shall we say." Yes Melina carefully avoid the heart of the matter. A little upstart was the understatement of the century given how enraged that tidal wave of Digimon had been. Just what on Earth had she done to upset them? Momentarily looking up from her food Yukimi wiped her mouth with a nearby tissue, on account of the fact she had sauce all over it, and nodded at Nyao and her partner. "Hey. You two alright?" Genuine concern was the meaning of the day for Yukimi as unlike her tamer she was a bit more worried about the other's safety.

At first Katsura sent Kan a nod confirming that she was in fact Kat. Computers and electronics had never interested Katsura very much, it was very expensive for her and she was fine just writing her diary. Even with her digidevice, she had only ever learned how to scan and make portals and that's all. Then when the Angewomon returned Katsura simply said in conjunction with Melina's invitation to give a round.
"Grape" And so Katsura got a bottle, by with she quickly popped the ball down to open it. (AN: Katsura ordered a Ramune, hence the mention of the ball).
Normally Katsura would accept it when people called others grumpy, but she had a feeling that when Melina said so it was likely for another reason. That lady had an habit of causing trouble wherever she went in Katsura's opinion. For the same reason, Katsura was a little suspicious when Melina asked for the connection between Nyao and Angewomon, what was that lady planning now? Setting Kan up with one or maybe Melina wanted a wingwoman in hitting on that Angemon, Katsura rolled her eyes over the imagination. Rather, Katsura decided it was her who should answer the black agumons question, of course not without putting up a smile. "We're fine. Thank you for asking." Nyao was more relaxed and just accepted it as a question of interest. "My white sisters tend to turn into those."
