Even with all the fire and smoke, not to mention injuries she had sustained beforehand this was still a pretty easy shot for Eva. A flanked target, unaware of her presence, and with no effective cover? Simple. She squeezed the trigger, the first launcher armed hostile's head damn near exploding into a squall of very PG-13 digi-gore and brain matter. The second one though? That was still very much a threat.
Seemed these things were capable of faster bursts of movement than Eva had thought, as it threw down the launcher and charged. The cybernetic Renamon tried to snap off a shot, but, it didn't hit a critical area, punching clean through and out the side of the hazmat suit wearing monstrosity and doing the total sum of next to nothing. The creature had quite the size and weight advantage over Eva, and with the aforementioned weight advantage plus the momentum from charging it swung a heavy blow with its fist right into Eva's chest. She felt the titanium plate replacing where her ribcage would have once been shatter from the impact as she was sent reeling face down into the ground leaving her chest cavity full of broken metal as her rifle was sent flying from her hands, sliding across the floor and well out of her grasp.
The hostile wasn't done yet though, it quickly reached out and grabbed Eva, lifting the much smaller digimon up by neck as if she was nothing, the pressure cutting off her airway and indeed very much threatening to crush her throat. It looked down at her with its vacant, empty gas mask visor. There was nothing, not a trace of emotion, of feeling, just a deep, dark cold desire for destruction.
Eva's vision filled with warnings, low oxygen, critical pressure, and of course the damage caused just seconds earlier to her torso. She felt her body start to give up, her sight starting to fade, however, she had one more option. The concealed blade in her arm shot out again, and with the last ounce of strength she could muster, cleaved the Troopmon's arm clean off.
The creature hardly flinched from it as Eva was dropped unceremoniously, and rather hard to the floor, slowly walking up to her. The cyborg scrabbled back as fast as she could, trying to get to her rifle, however, the monstrosity was already upon her and stomped down onto her chest, seemingly sensing the damage it caused earlier and seeking to finish the job by crushing the very life from her.
She struggled against it, trying desperately to reach for her rifle, her fingers barely touching it as yet another blow landed, the attacker not yet noticing it as she barely managed to grab hold of it, a trickle of again very pg-13 not blood streaming from the corner of her mouth as she desperately tried to bring the weapon up.

Fortunately for her, the assailant was not paying attention, allowing her to barely point the weapon in its way and dump the entire magazine into it, enough shots nailing it directly in the dome to finish the job.
Eva struggled to remain conscious. She had to get back to K, they had to get out of here. That couldn't have been it, that was just one team. Any force that well equipped likely had backup, or more numbers or... something. She barely stumbled back to her feet, limping over towards where she saw K last.
"We... we have to get out of here." Just talking hurt like hell, she practically doubled over, coughing up more PG-13 gore. She had to get the words out though. "More... more hostiles might come. Just one squad can't be... can't be all. Can you move?"

K could hear more gunfire, she knew the other's to be dead so there was no if ands or buts that it was eva firing upon what would likely be the last of their enemies. She couldn't see where they were, the fire and smoke making it difficult. She'd slowly sit up, wheezing softly as she could feel the pain spike throughout her body. She was unable to move her charred arm at this point as well and she could tell that was a terrible sign. Grunting as her aura faded she slowly managed to claw her way to standing by use of a tree. What was she going to do?
Looking around dizzily as it was hard to keep herself standing with how much pain she was dealing with. But she had to at least try to move now that she got a little bit and that eva was actively engaging the enemy? At the very least she could distract the enemy or... She found herself face first and flat on the ground the moment she left the stability of the tree. Grunting and proping herself up she finnally noticed that it wasn't just her upperbody that had taken some damage. Shaking her head a little bit she'd shift and noted some fragments from the earlier missile were sticking out of her leg as though taunting her.
Gonna need at least a week of bedrest after this ugh...
She'd rub her head just a ltitle bit and perk up when she heard the sustained fire from eva. That wasn't her panicked and shooting into the two of them was it? Gritting her teeth all she could do still is wait. Wait for the explosions that followed; or wait for... Eva. She'd blink and sigh in barely contained relief as eva limped over to her. The other renamon looked like a mess and K flinched visibly as they coughed up.. well. Something she'd rather not think about. Aura would have to be spread out between the two of them.
"Yes. But I've taken some shrapnel to my legs. When I get the chance let me look at your chest."
She'd growl just a little bit, forcing herself up by use of a tree again. This time she kept herself propped up and used her K-slash to chop off a low hanging branch. It hurt like hell to do it but she now could at least use the tree branch to keep herself moving. She'd stoop and pick up the branch, now using it to prop herself to walk two or three steps closer to eva.
"Where do we go?

While Eva didn't have the satellite maps for this world unlike the human one, she still did have a pretty good sense of direction. Unfortunately that sense was confirming that that the nearest population centre was Terminus, which was still a good couple days hike away. Now that would normally be no real problem, just a pain that it would take so long but with them both messed up like this? That was another story. She looked around the scene, trying to get her bearings. The tracks were a fairly good indicator of where to go, however, if they followed them blindly there was a 50% chance they would just end up going back in the direction they came from.
"First thing's first, out of this f*cking firestorm, then Terminus. We have to... we have to tell whoever's in charge of the station that there are hostiles targeting trains along the route. Oh, and get a damn refund."
Eva's HUD was still malfunctioning, but, she was still able to barely make out her compass. She remembered at least what general direction Terminus was from here, and maps or not she was still able to set a waypoint to its direction. She quickly de-activated all the combat gear she was using, returning to her usual jeans and hoodie look rather than the full military gear. Wearing that stuff now was just dead weight given the situation.
"This way. We need to avoid staying too close to these tracks. For all we know there could be more of those bastards up ahead." She reached into her hoodie pocket, pulled out a packet of cigarettes and lit one up. It was something to take her mind off the searing mess of agony her entire torso was in right now as she started to head off in the direction of Terminus. "It's a damn long way. If... if you have any means of long ranged communications, calling for evac right now wouldn't go amiss."

Eva was right; they needed to get out of the fire first and then to terminus. Their injuries however would make it very difficult to get there even if they did follow the tracks. She'd exhale slowly; feeling the fierce pain that followed it spread throughout her body. The renamon winced and shook her head; if there were still hostiles out there they'd have an easy time finishing off the both of them of that she had no doubt.
"All right. As good idea as any at this point."
The other seemed to shift from their armor into what the renamon recognized as human apparel. That surprised her quite a bit but she wasn't going to ask about it until they were well clear of this location. Grunting in agreement as she started to walk with the support of the branch back towards the way that eva had suggested. Eva was right about it being a long way; she didn't have any means of long rnage communication nor did she have any long means of transport immediately avaliable. If she did why would she of used the train in the first place?
"yeah. that's true and if that's the case we're in no position to fight them."
She'd shake her head slowly; exhaling again. She was starting to get a dull pain from her hand; that was at least a good sign.. Right? She'd look down at it as she walked noting how badly that arm was shaking on it's own. She'd have to see a real doctor back in terminus and that'd be expensive as all hell.
"I don't have any means of communication on me unfortunately; but I feel if we get back I'm going to fix that error."
Grunting the renamon would continue after Eva; she was a bit slower because of the damage to her legs but given some time she'd likely make due by supplemnting the both of them with aura. But she severely doubted her ability at this point; it was good for light healing damnit... Not something that could end lives.

FOUR HOURS LATER
It would have been tough going through this terrain even if the two weren't injured, and to make matters even worse? Aura wasn't seemingly doing too much to help Eva. Sure, it was working just fine on the parts of her that were still organic and certainly eased the pain somewhat, but the robotic components? They remained completely unchanged due to their human world construction and origin.
The two eventually came to a clearing in the forest, and with no more sightings or even any signs of more hazmat suit wearing monstrosities, this place seemed as safe as any. Eva sat down on a fallen log, catching her breath. Despite the copious amount of painkillers and drugs being automatically pumped through her system just to keep her going, there was only so much her body could take in this state.
"We go much further, we're just going to end up hurting ourselves. I think we're good to stop here for a while if you need to rest up as well, I haven't seen a trace of those bastards."

Traveling wa snot kind to K, she was struggling the whole way but at the same time the tree branch she had picked out was certainly helping massively. If she had not used it; they would of taken almost three times as long to get to where they were now. Aura had for the most part helped their organic parts recover. The only thing that wasn't healed very well was the renamon's hand which remained charred though the bits that had been healed looked strange without the fur.
Even with all the healing, the pain and the memory of the wounds were still there. She'd collapse next ot a tree panting as her body was reaching it's traveling limits with the amount of healing she had attempted on the both of them.
"I was about to say the same actually... I think we both need more rest than what being out in the wild will provide. I haven't seen anything of them either, but I don't think that's a reason to relax fully anyways."
She'd gesture tiredly with her good hand; the local area seeming almost peaceful in comparison to the fire that they had dealt with earlier. What were they going to do for a camp? She didn't have any supplies and was in no real position to do anything other than laying against a tree.
"Resting is our best option, but I don't know if we have the things to make a proper camp. A campfire would be easy considering but that might draw attention..."

It took a while for Eva to catch her breath, after all, her lungs weren't in too good a way after that Troopmon decided to give her a good stomping. She looked around the area. It seemed like a fairly good location, windspeed wasn't too high, temperature wasn't super low but nonetheless she was still certainly glad she had her hoodie and jeans on. Even so, in a battle against nature without shelter or the like? Nature usually wins. You were in for a miserable time if you didn't at least have something set up.
The main problem was certainly lack of supplies though. Neither of them seemed to be packing any, after all, you don't exactly expect to be thrust into this sort of situation when just taking a peaceful train ride back to the city. She stopped, and took a look around, taking a couple more deep but somewhat ragged breaths before shakily standing up.
"Right, but just staying out here in the open with nothing isn't going to help anything."
She barely held back a chuckle when K suggested there was nothing around to really build a camp. She opened her arms, or well, one working arm, in a gesture as if saying "Look around you!" "We're in the middle of a small forest clearing, surrounded by all this, and you don't see anything to make camp with? Come ooooon. Would be better if we had some paracord or tarp, but, hey. You work with what you got."
With that, Eva set about gathering what she could. It was the middle of the night, and they had nothing so it would have to be pretty quick to construct. She started with a Y shaped branch, and set it as deep into the ground as she could, getting another long piece of wood to set it straight and act as a support. It wasn't easy for sure with only her right arm, but, she was managing it, and as an added bonus focusing on something like this was certainly giving her a little energy back by taking her mind off things.
She paused for a moment, looking over to K when she mentioned the campfire. "Could also attract the right sort of attention. Aircraft, flying digimon, that sort of thing. The way we are right now? I'd give us a..." She stopped talking for a moment, to concentrate on the construction, setting up the side "roof" sections of the improvised shelter. "... a fifty fifty chance of both of us getting back to Terminus alive given the distance."

K eyed the other renamon; that frown slowly working onto her face. She didn't have the chance to actually look at the other; now that they were resting and in one location for a bit. She really should take the oppurtunity. K herself was honestly in better shape thanks to her aura with the last bit of damage that she had.. Needing severe medical attention.
"Y-yeah. You've got a point. Sorry It's been a really long time since I've actively had to make camp or anything. When we're done setting up Let me take a look at your chest. Judging by how you're moving it still hurts and there might be other things I can help with."
K would use her stick to stand up; grunting in exertion as she did so. It'd take a little bit for her to gather things but at least when they started the fire they wouldn't need anything other than her fire orbs to start it. She'd exhale slowly; the pain from her arm spiking through her body as it bounced off of her branch.
"I'm also afraid I don't know what paracord is? Is that some new invention or something?"
K would take some time to get some wood, though most of the things that she was able to gather were more for kindling. Though the one or two logs she had managed to get were likely going to suffice for a good timeframe. She'd grit her head nodding slightly as the other seemed to mention the aircraft or flying digimon.
"It could. I don't expect aircraft to stop but flying digimon might be more interested in why there's a fire."

Eva was trying to focus more on the task at hand than the constant pain and reminders from her HUD, both of which telling her in their own ways that she probably shouldn't be doing this right now. Nonetheless, she was. She stepped back looking at the improvised shelter. It looked strong enough for the time being, certainly would last long enough for their purposes.
"When we're done setting up Let me take a look at your chest. Judging by how you're moving it still hurts and there might be other things I can help with."
She looked over to K, lighting up a cigarette and taking a long drag. "Not too sure if there's anything you can do. Your "aura" isn't going to work on something like this." She sat down on a fallen log near the other Renamon and looked down at her damaged arm. Conveniently for the explanation she was about to give, a piece of the broken casing had come loose and was simply being held on by gravity. She picked it up, holding it in her hand as she spoke. "A lot of me isn't made out of digital matter like you, the parts of me that matter, or everything around us here. This is an advanced weave of carbon fibre and titanium strands. A human world material, made out of atoms rather than data. A lot of me was replaced with things like this, against my will I might add, and that includes what took the impact. Instead of a normal ribcage there's a metal plate designed to resist firearms. Shows how hard those things can hit as it has been broken up pretty good."

"It's for small things and pain really, I don't think it can make much of a dent on metal and the like..."
She'd frown a little bit and eye the piece that Eva held up. She wasn't made out of data like K? What on earth had happened to her? Would she go back into the cycle of things if she took too much damage? Or would she just cease to be? Some hard hitting questions that K didn't think she had the right to ask.
"If it's not made out of digital matter, I don't think it'd even work. I wouldn't have a clue since I've never met a human or been to their world."
There were some words that Eva said that was rather foreign to her, what was Titanium? Atoms? Carbon Fibre? All of those sounded even more Alien to her. She'd sigh softly and wince, her own pain making it's way back. She had to pose another question though; one that of course even hurt to ask. More because she coughed during it; making herself stutter on a few places. She didn't even know what the other was putting to their lips.
"How are you going to get better then if you're not data? Does this human metal have regenerative properties or?"
She'd take a seat, her legs shaking a bit from the exertion. They'd have a long haul in the morning if the two of them didn't get help in any fashion. She'd rub her neck lightly and sigh, wondering to herself if she could even heal her arm at this point. It was practically charcoal by the looks of it. She'd grit her teeth and hold her other hand to it, the soft light of aura warping around it.
"Now that combat has passed and We've managed to make a little camp. I suppose sharing names wouldn't be too out of the way? My name's K. What about you?"

"How are you going to get better then if you're not data? Does this human metal have regenerative properties or?"
"Partially. Some parts of me have "self sealing" properties, binding back together over time. For example, my artificial muscles." She rolled up her hoodie sleeve to show where a piece of the exterior of her arm had been torn free, exposing the bundles and bundles of carbon nanotube fibres, flexing her arm to show how they contracted and relaxed. "Of course, the parts of me that are data will heal over time or be effected by healing abilities just like with anyone else."
The technology on Eva certainly did look different than what a more naturally formed robotic or cybernetic digimon would be sporting. To a digimon's eyes, it would no doubt seem a little strange. A construct of brutal simplicity, nothing unnecessary, every component designed with a mechanical precision and a harsh focus on pure function mimicking a human form, even down to the positioning of the artificial muscles corresponding to human muscle groups and the hands with four fingers and a thumb.
She stopped and thought for a moment about what K had asked, taking another drag off her cigarette. More specifically her thoughts lingered on the first part. She wasn't entirely sure how she would "get better" completely. A few theories buzzed around in her head. One of them was trying to find someone in the digital world who was somehow skilled in cybernetic engineering and advanced human technology, the other?
"Perhaps if there was a powerful enough healing ability, it would regenerate. We -are- in the digital world after all. If it can fix your arm, it might be able to repair some damage."
"Now that combat has passed and We've managed to make a little camp. I suppose sharing names wouldn't be too out of the way? My name's K. What about you?"
"Eva." She gave a smile, extending her hand for a handshake. If K accepted, the hand would feel cold and seemingly kind of unnatural. As though she was holding what was just a pale mechanical imitation of life.

"That's very itneresting. I must admit though, much of what you are saying doesn't make sense to me. But I suppose that happens."
She'd lean to see what the other was showing; her eyebrows shooting up however when she saw the exposed bundles of the nanotube fibres. She wasn't sure what that was supposed to really be never having seen muscles. Anytime someone incized into a digimon it was normally data so she was absolutely out of her element.
"What parts are those if you don't mind me asking? Are any of them hurt?"
She let out grunt however when she felt a long lance of pain work it's way from her charred arm. Oh yes there was the pain, the surface was just barely treated but she could tell it made enough of a difference.
She noticed the differences between her and Eva, something fierce. It was odd and she had to admit she didn't know what to think of the hands. There was so much that sang oddly to her, but this was another Renamon, there was a baseline of the two of them wasn't there? She had to simply accept that they were different and move on. Which wasn't hard in the least bit so she simply deigned to do so.
"There are hospitals in Terminus city, they likely would have someone that would fall into the ability to heal our damage. Though not without cost or the like..."
She accepted the handshake giving it a firm but friendly shake; it seemed odd to her and she found herself smiling along with the other. What else was there to really say? She'd pause after a few moments and retract her hand, gently rubbing her muzzle; wincing from the pain.
"well it's a pleasure Eva, pity we couldn't of met under better circumstances. Maybe after we're better we can get a drink or something."

"What parts are those if you don't mind me asking? Are any of them hurt?"
"Those are the artificial muscles I was just talking about. They're what makes my arms and legs move. Seeing as I'm still able to walk and move my arms, they're in good enough shape for now."
Eva was hoping she wouldn't have to try and go into too much detail. She was no engineer, and only knew the basics of her cybernetics from what she had been able to observe and what the readouts on her HUD showed, which right now was still just flickering away with various garbled and glitched out warning messages. She blinked a couple of times an an attempt to clear her vision, managing to navigate what was left of mind linked user interface in order to reset the optics in an attempt to clear her view and restore her HUD.
From the outside, her eyes themselves seemed to slowly slip out of focus as they reset to their "offline" positions, the tiny little lenses and mechanisms retracting slightly before they clicked back into their normal focused settings.
"There are hospitals in Terminus city, they likely would have someone that would fall into the ability to heal our damage. Though not without cost or the like..."
No NHS in the digital world apparently. Well, that was going to make things trickier, especially for Eva. It probably wouldn't be a straightforward process getting her systems back to fully working order. "Yeah, that's the tricky part. Perhaps they'll cut the cost if we tell them about what happened. Groups targeting the train lines is certainly a big threat.
"well it's a pleasure Eva, pity we couldn't of met under better circumstances. Maybe after we're better we can get a drink or something."
Eva couldn't help but chuckle at this. "Before we're "better", after we're "better"... I think we both could sure as hell use a drink right 'bout now."

"That's.. Very interesting. It's a good thign they aren't heavily damaged, I don't think I could carry you if you were."
K would give the other a small pained smile and rub her muzzle after a few moments. She found herself raising her eyebrows again when the other seemed to lose focus for a moment. Though they didn't seem to change much past the retracting of the small lenses. She wasn't going to question it; whatever these humans had done to Eva it was something the renamon didn't understand in the slightest. She wasn't about to ask much more; since it seemed to be a pained topic for the other. When the other suggested about the cutting of cost K considered it for a moment. They would have to go to perhaps the officials in Terminus about this rather than a hospital.
"If we tell what passes for the law in terminus about this, they'll likely help with the cost in thanks yes. I wouldn't expect a full waive of it. I'm surprised that this group would even bother attackign the trailmons. Imagine if one of those... Uh. What are they called.. Tamers? Were on it? They'd be in a heap of trouble. I've heard that they're stronger than digimon on their own."
She'd frown a little and rub her muzzle again. She didn't want to think about what would of happened if the train had been full and there had been a mess of people aboard. There would of been many a digitization and likely alot of injured. She'd find herself grinning at the other with the mention of when they should drink.
"I agree. Though I imagine it'd be difficult to get anything out here!"
She'd let out a soft laugh which was followed immediately by the renamon wincing in pain. She'd eye the sky and find herself sighing wistfully.
"...So what now?"

"Supplies. My guess would be they were looking to steal from freight trains ferrying cargo around. They likely miss IDed that train, probably didn't figure that their target would have a couple of people like us on it. Also Tamers? Not sure. There aren't that many around, and I'm not sure if they'd have done much better than we did given the situation."
"...So what now?"
Eva stopped to think about that. Until now, the two had been reacting to the situation more than anything, rather than acting and making plans. Now they were relatively safe the latter could be implemented. She idly ran through a few system tests, deep in thought about their current predicament.
DIAGNOSTIC VITALS...
WARNING: CRITICAL INTERNAL DAMAGE DETECTED.
ALERT: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SYSTEMS ENGAGED.
...INTERNAL BLEEDING CONTROLLED.
...PAINKILLERS ADMINISTERED.
DIAGNOSTIC CYBERNETICS...
WEAPONS: ONLINE
WARNING: ARTIFICIAL MUSCLE EFFICIENCY COMPROMISED
WARNING: ARMOUR INTEGRITY COMPROMISED
WARNING: CLOAK EFFICIENCY COMPROMISED
ADVISORY: SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
Things still didn't look good on that front as the information scrolled past her vision, but at the very least it wasn't saying that she was literally about to die from this.
"Right. The best thing we can do for the time being is wait a little, rest up, and once we're good and ready continue on to Terminus. We're relatively near the trailmon line so with any luck either another Trailmon will find us, or some sort of flying digimon. Not going to be an easy trek back there by ourselves the way we are right now."
