Damn it... she's far too reckless and I'm useless like this! At this rate-
The Mikemon could only look on as K made that headstrong charge, right towards the feral spider. If only he could get some sort of move out, or just get his legs into gear to try and divert the way the Dokugumon was facing, maybe the fox could get a better angle to get a jump on that spider. But he could only look on as those fangs snapped shut with a clack...
... And, as the Renamon appeared at his left side. She was still tense, snarling after being forced to use such a taxing ability so quickly. After an instant, the spider realized that its catch had gotten away, and resumed its charge right towards the pair of them. K seemed unsure about what to do, but at this point, the doctor finally felt his strength return to him. This time, he ran forward, a golden glint pulsing in his eyes. K would be shielded from the light by the feline's back, but all six of the spider's eyes would catch the glint of Mikemon's Cat-Eye Hypnotism, temporarily blinding it from the smaller target.
This gave enough time for Mikemon to grasp onto part of the Dokugumon's mane with his right, good arm, and with a surprising show of strength, shunt the Dokugumon's movement to the side! Temporarily blinded, the spider would still barrel forward, a good yard or so away to K's left side. This would hopefully give the Renamon a clean shot on the pass - handled right, she might knock it out straight away!
Just don't jump at its fangs again!

K certainly didn't like having to back off so quickly, but those fangs wouldn't feel very good biting down into her arm. She didn't want to risk the poison and actually was hoping the digimon would try to avoid her attack rather than try to bite her arm.
She looked a little surprised as the Mikemon charged forward. But she took her regular fighting stance as the Mikemon met the Dokugumon. The shining eyes blinding it something fierece. Her brows shot up in surprise and he shunted it to the side, she was quick to pick up what she should do this time around. Though unlike before she used the Dokugumon's momentum to her advantage.
Arcing her right leg in a wide attack that would normally not connect on someone paying attention she grit her teeth. The Appendage had been prepared with a K-Slash But she renamon had deigned to remain silent in order to avoid alerting the creature to her position. With how the creature was charging, it'd likely smash right into the upper portion of it's skull or the back part of it's neck. Either way it'd hurt quite a bit. She doubted she'd miss this time around...

A more articulate Dokugumon would have been much more wary of the feline: despite his comparative stature, Mikemon was indeed a champion level Digimon, with more than enough strength to hoist the spider if need be. Feral as it was, the spider continued his charge for several more yards, unaware of the silent fox that approached from behind!
CRACK!
The Dokugumon let out a spitting roar just as that kick landed atop its head, the full weight of the Renamon behind it! The beast staggered, its jaw dragging several feet against the uneven dirt of the forest floor as it stumbled forward. Groggy as it was, though, the spider was quick to try and clamber back up on its front feet, its eye glinting as it turned to face the Renamon-
"Hyah!" With labored breath, the Mikemon had caught up to the spider's side, just as K's hit would strike. Still using his one good arm, his own lightning paw would strike at the spider's temple, the green light in its eyes dimming soon after. With a low, guttural growl, the spider collapsed. Its eyes dimmed, the Dokugumon severed from its consciousness.
"... Ugh..." At that exertion of effort, though, the Mikemon groaned. His 'free' hand locked over the worst of the wound at his elbow, his own 'radiated healing' pulsing brightly over the wound. Eventually, his left paw twitched, the Mikemon taking a moment to examine his arm. 'Good enough for now', he figured. "Right... rope, quickly..."
The next few minutes went by rather quickly: with the rope the Mikemon had brought, Mikemon (and K, should she assist) would bind the rear two legs of the spider on each side together, before tying one last bind off, to keep the Dokugumon's innermost fangs bound together. Fortunately enough, it seemed that the beast was out like a light for the entire duration, and Mikemon was taking no chances: he occasionally used 'Shadow Stitching', a dark aura surrounding his paws as he sank several shadowy stitches into the spider's frame.
"Right... he won't be moving for a good while." Finally taking a moment to take a deep breath, he stepped forward towards the spider, and moved its head a slight bit to the side, digging to look behind the mane. There, he gave a 'tch', and beckoned the Renamon over. "Look, right here..."
The texture was undeniably foreign. Underneath the armor of the chitin, white 'flakes' could be seen on top of the insect's sensitive, black skin. Brushing a paw-pad over it, the Mikemon determined that the flakes were wet, and deeply grown into its skin. "... Tch. You know what this is, right, K?" The Mikemon's gaze flicked back towards the mushrooms, the cat swearing under his breath. "This Dokugumon was already dead when we found it..."

K was unaware of the level of her customer, in fact she had never deigned to ask. Considering that stature he was in she assumed him to be rookie. She wasn't expecting the strength or the moves he had in the least. The dokugumon staggered, turned to face her and then with her attack the mikemon assisted her in rendering the beast unconcious.
Tutting gently she'd kneel next to Dokugumon; examining where she had hit with a small frown. She'd glance back over to the mikemon and nod; giving him a hand when it came to to tying the creature up. She'd sigh softly when done and rubbed the back of her head eyeing the mikemon.
"With those hits I'd hope not."
She'd crouch next to the mikemon eyeing the location that he had dug to. She felt a frown tug onto her lips and she leaned away from the creature just a bit as though repulsed. She wasn't expecting fungal growth at all, those white flakes tell tale signs of something much worse.
"Yes I do. Which is bad."
She followed his eyes and that frown continued to grow deeper and deeper. Were those mushrooms part of the cause? Or was it another malicious plant? she didn't really know but she did know this was bad.
"....That's not good. At all."
She didn't know what to say, there was danger here and now there was not. But the problem now lay in a completely different area and the renamon found herself standing up. She looked a bit pale, but determined.
"....Does this mean that he's not the only one with these growths?"

Yes, hopefully that spider would stay down: with how closely they were examining the spider's skin, even with the binds, it would be troublesome if the monster stirred! Still, that didn't seem to be the case...
... Though, if it did wake up, it would be as mindless and reckless as before. That was the Mikemon's diagnosis, as soon as he confirmed the existence of the white flakes. It was concrete evidence of a deep fungal growth, something that the cat had suspected during his little 'interrogation' of the town. "No, its not good," the doctor agreed, though it was clear that K didn't have the entire 'puzzle' put together yet. Then again, those missing pieces could only be found with extensive medical knowledge - knowledge the Mikemon was lucky enough to have.
"Well, there could very well be another beast or two out here infected by the growth, but I doubt they would be as far gone as the Dokugumon. He's a virus-type, and under that thin exoskeleton is an outer-layer that's very receptive of the toxins in the air. Put all that together and you have yourself a practical zombie... see how far the skin presses in here?" The cat lightly pressed a finger against the spider's side, it having a surprising amount of give. "This Dokugumon's half starved-to-death."
He stepped away from the insect, shaking his head. "'Nocturne Whitecap', though useful, is very illegal to grow, or even transport its spores, without a permit. There's only one greenhouse I know that even carries it, and that reason is simple: the fungus is stupidly toxic to virus types. Damn it..." He let out a worse swear under his breath, as he knelt over the mushrooms.
"You heard all that stuff in town, right? I actually learned that the Gazimon family had replanted this stuff where they noticed other mushrooms growing... naturally, like an idiot, I cussed them out in the middle of the streets. Entire town started looking at me cross-eyed, and then I realized: how the hell would they know this vague law? All the Gazi's knew was that selling whitecaps made a lot of money, and growing more would make more money."
The cat sighed. "An innocent decision. One mistake, that they wouldn't even know was a mistake, got at least three Digimon deleted. We can't even blame the spider for this."

K frowned a little bit further when the Mikemon started to show off what was wrong with the Dokugumon. Or at least the things she didn't seem to understand. She'd crouch down again, her pale face regaining a little bit of color when he explained more into what the dokugumon had gone through. Or at least the reason as to why it was so receptive to it. She'd tut gently and sigh; rubbing the back of her head again...
"A practical zombie isn't going to help us, we can't cure this can we?"
She'd glance back to the mikemon as he stepped away and then started to explain about the Nocturne Whitecap. She hadn't heard about it being illegal, if anything all she had heard was that it was rare. Her face fell a bit however when he continued to explain. The fact they were toxic to virus types made the renamon flinch a bit.
"Then the Gazimon back in town might be in danger? What about you?"
She'd stare at him worridly and then nod firmly. She had heard everythign that had transpired; it wasn't hard. A newcomer stirring up problems and one of the local families being cursed out. Some of the customers she had for the normal meal hours had been talking about it as well. But they seemed less worried about the family and more worried about the "virus" type that was there. Honestly people needed to get their heads out of their rears.
"Yes I did, and trust me most of them are grumpy about you just being here. Now they're going to be grumpy that you're here and have an actual reason. It's stupid how they can be."
She'd grumble softly and shake her head.
"I have never heard of the law either, but should that be a surprise? No I suppose.. We don't get much in the way of news. We need a recap of everything; I suppose a visit to terminus to get the more recent laws and what not would benifit them."
She'd look down at the Dokugumon; her face falling flat and she'd grit her teeth in irritation.
"A mistake is a mistake, wether it was innocent or not. We have to get rid of these mushrooms; I don't even know what I'm supposed to do about this Dokugumon. But the options aren't looking pretty."
She'd frown further and sigh.
"The blame will fall on the family, then the law enforcement. There will be a big hub bub about it and I'll of course have to figure out what the bloody hell to do about the whole thing if I'm even here."

Oh, lord. The moment K's first question hit the Mikemon's ears, the feline's ear would give a visible twitch, the cat's expression growing slightly grave. The only answer he would give was a shake of the head - the spider was way too far gone, even if the cat did go all-out and clear away all the fungus! Still, the answer would be far less grave, in regards to the Gazimon:
"Don't worry about me; I might use virus, but I'm still data. As for the Gazimon in town, well, I'd say only the one attacked by the Dokugumon is in any real danger from the fungus. I saw face-masks and the like in their place, so they were at least knew what they were doing as far as planting mushrooms." As for that one Gazimon in the hotel, the Mikemon didn't know how to answer. It really depended on just how the fight went down: "And if the Gazimon's still kicking in your hotel, well, he'll probably be fine." Hopefully that was enough for now, but still, the problem to the town was real.
And the town itself, it seemed, wasn't going to take any of this nicely. Should the illegal act actually get out, and be prosecuted, the resulting fallout would likely have the townsfolk at each-other's throats. Heck, would they even take well to outsiders from Terminus dragging the Gazi's away? Some would be distraught, and others would likely be cheering them on. The doctor took in all of K's explanation, up to the point where she said they would have to get rid of the mushrooms.
"We'll dispose of them discretely." The Mikemon nodded. "Honestly, there's no reason to drag this further into the mud. We'll tell the Gazi's they're gone, and once you go out to Whitewater and get an actual professional to consult, mistakes like this will be avoidable. Bureaucracy might not be too appreciated here, but its a start. And... ugh."
Right. The Dokugumon. He looked down to the spider, and slowly approached the front side. Carefully, he lined a paw up, and extracted a fang - one that came out much easier than expected, due to the infection - and rested it aside, before running a paw across its shoulder. "Sorry..."
There would be a quick strike, the spider's frame quickly disintegrating into red data. Of course, he didn't move to load a single piece of it, both out of respect for the spider and for the risk of its tainted data affecting his own. "We'll use the fang as proof we took out the spider. Then... ugh. I'll need to rest at your inn for a bit..." His left arm twitched.
"Honestly... I'll leave what to tell the town, to you."

K would shift a little bit and stare at the Mikemon. She wasn't sure what exactly else to say. Though his explanation seemed to put her worry at ease. She'd rub her muzzle and let out a soft sigh.
"Well that's good. About you being okay at least. At least they were doing the planting right but I don't... Where they got them is worrying me."
She'd shake her head and stare down at the Dokugumon. She could tell that it was indeed the one to bite the Gazimon back in the hotel; it wasn't really hard to put two and two together after all. She'd feel a frown come across her lips.
"If he's not we'll likely have to do the same to him as to this Dokugumon."
Her tone was grave, her face seemed a bit ashen. She could remember when that family had set up in the town. Her inn being the first building out of the town from what she could recall at least.
"That sounds like a good idea, Burn them? Or something else? I do think going to Whitewater for a consultation is required at this point, no if's and's or buts. I just hope the person they do send this way is good with dealing with the stress of being the odd one out."
She'd watch the mikemon; raising a brow slightly when the individual apologized to the Dokugumon before quickly striking the spider. It'd disintegrate quickly before the two of them. K wasn't so much respectful as worried about the data and backed up just a little bit.
"That's fine, you paid for the room after all. That and it's not going to hurt me if you stay a few more days to get better."
She'd shrug and gently tap her muzzle, letting out a firm sigh.
"Keeping it hush wouldn't help anyone but the Gazimon family. I'm not a fan of placing risk on people, and this was risky. I'll tell the sheriff and.. well. He'll have a better grasp as to what to do, I don't know what i'll do about it to be honest. They might blame me for trusting an outsider."

"If I had to guess, they must have found Whitecap deeper in the woods and planted them here. Again, they weren't exactly trying to hide it - they had no reason to." That was the crux of it, after all, and why the situation got so out of hand: without knowing the law, they were able to plant these mushrooms without limit. Still, he couldn't imagine that the spores traveled well outside of their natural habitat...
... Oh, who was he kidding, they would be able to spread freely at night! The Mikemon let that thought about the Gazimon slip past - he definitely didn't want this to go the same way the spider did. No, Mikemon would only respond as K spoke of the mushrooms, at which point the doctor opened the bag on his left arm. He pulled out a large plastic bag, and knelt down next to the fungus, taking care to extract them down to their root. Even underneath the mushrooms was a white pulp that had started to grow into the ground: instead of several caps, it all came out as one mass of fungus, which he carefully split in half, and stored in the bag in two pieces. Letting out as much air as he could, he sealed the bag shut. "Burning it won't be necessary. As much damage as it caused, the sheriff will need to see the evidence."
After all, if that was the route that K wanted to go, well, he wasn't going to stop her. He'd even provide his own account to the sheriff, if needed. "As much trouble as it was... for what its worth, I thank you for trusting me. And..." He gave a small smile. "My offer's still on the table."
As talkative and active as Mikemon was during their excursion out to the woods, the cat's voice went away as soon as they were back in town. With suspicious stares looking down at the pair, and with the Mikemon's earlier attitude, he simply made his way back to the inn as quick as he could. Before heading off to his room, he took to the back-corner of the common area, setting down his bag to more properly look at and treat his arm.
If K wanted anything, he'd be there for a few minutes longer. If not, he'd soon be back to his room.

"I suppose that makes sense. That and they really wouldn't, but that caused some heavy problems..."
She'd shake her head and sigh, watching the mikemon start to bag up the mushrooms. She didn't really know what she was supposed to do at this point; she couldn't really help him with that after all. The renamon hadn't brought a bag or the like with her. She wasn't expecting to bring anything back; she more expected to of just dealt with the spider and hoof it back.
"That's.. True I guess. He'll likely use it to get the Gazimon to talk once he learns about the whole permit thing."
K would shake her head again, she didn't really like the idea of having to out a whole family to this business. But they couldn't just sit by and do this again but more carefully next time. Hopefully with this incident there wouldn't BE a next time.
"Of course, I had no reason to do anything but."
She'd pause and mull it over; her head hsaking slowly at first. She'd give a small shrug rubbing at one of her shoulders.
"...I don't know. They can't run things here without me. I built that inn from the ground up. Before this town even came to be. It'd be hard to leave it in someone's hands. Even if it is someone like Canton and the other Chefs. I'll.. Think about it."
She'd return the smile and of course during their walk back she wasn't really that chatty either. The suspcicious stares were met with something surprising, a rather stern and unforgiving one. She wasn't going to have this, he didn't need that after helping these people out. She was starting to wonder why she even bothered with them sometimes.
When they got back to the inn she'd go and check on the Gazimon in question. If he was still there at least. She wasn't sure hwat she would do if she was to find him in a mess or the like. She'd come out to the mikemon after a little bit and give him a small wave before going back to work. She had some thinking to do.

"Well. Just keep it in mind. Surely I've bugged you about it enough by now." After today, Mikemon seemed less insistent, but still interested, in the idea of having K under his wing. Still, given the state of this town, he couldn't press her much further about it.
And back at the inn, he wanted little more than to just curl up in his room and call it a day. He finally had the chance to get a proper set of bandages around his arm, and do more than just a simple flash-heal in regards to the Dokugumon's poison. Really, the only loose end around here was the Gazimon: as the room cracked open, she'd see the rabbit Digimon flat on his back, a damp towel draped over his forehead, idle radio in the background.
"Mm?" He grunted, looking towards the door from the corner of his eye. "Ah, evening, K... can I leave, yet? Damn, my joints are still killing me..."
He was 'fine', or at the very least, free of the fungus. Back in the common room, Mikemon gave a wave back towards K, his arm now fully bandaged. "Looked as we passed by; the train tracks are back up. I'll be out of here in the morning." The cat gave a nod, and stood, starting back towards his room.
"... Would be nice to get a coffee with you, at some point later. With none of this work-talk on the table." He left it at that, making his way down the hall.

"When you see potentional do you leave it be or go after it? No. You go after it and hope it agrees with you."
She admitted plainly that there was potentional in everything, she could go there and live a good life helping people. But she honestly... Just. She'd lose out on something she worked to build. She wasn't sure if she could do that as is.
Upon checking on the Gazimon K let out a soft sigh of relief. She'd shake her head a little bit and come over gently patting the Gazimon's back. She wasn't going to blame him, he was the youngest wasn't he? The one the others always told what to do and how to do it.
"If you can make it out on your own yes, but You'll need bed rest after this."
She'd give him a soft smile before having to leave him be. Wether or not he chose to stay in the room.. Well. It was up to him but she wasn't going to charge him for it.
"That's good. Hopefully you can get your business done, whatever it is.. well without too much hassle."
She'd chuckle and give him a smile, noting the arm with the bandages before perking up her ears. She'd rub the back of her head and get a more earnest smile on her face.
"That sounds like a plan. Maybe when I pop by in whitewater we can grab some coffee."
She'd watch the mikemon go and sigh before taking a seat by the counter, rubbing her arm irritably. She had gotten that close to getting bitten, by a creature infected with fungus. But with most fungus and things.. it could evolve and become a problem. Much like the denizens of the digital world.
"This isn't going to be the end of the problem is it..."
She let out a soft sigh before trekking to her room, where she'd flop on her bed not bothering to turn on the lights. It had been a long day and tomorrow was shaping up to be something longer...
