Slowly, the barrier the ascended CyberSagitamon had created faded away, undamaged yet unable to sustain itself any longer. It had performed as intended, but as she gazed through her futuristic anti-material rifle's scope at the guarded human, the outside silence crept into her system. With the Knightsmons protective shields, how was she supposed to do anything against the three foes she opposed besides stalling them. Cion believed in her allies being strong enough to vanquish their respective adversaries, but would they be sufficiently fast?
Although it started as an ominous event, it quickly shifted into something which made the vulpine marksmon beam with delight, which was of course not visible behind her helmet and visor. It was of course not the Blimpmon attacking the Ceresmon and the revelation that the Witchmon she protected was actually an avatar of this very entity; much less it being rendered unable to defend itself due to the sentient aircraft's attack. No - it was the fact that her third and final particle beam had not missed the enhanced yet utterly reckless Devidramon.
It was time to show what a member of P.R.O.F.I.T. was truly capable of.
As soon as the translucent shield dome in front of her faded, the jetpacks on her armor blazed up, just as eager to bring this clash to the next level as their owner was. Leaping backwards and in front of whatever the titanic avian's manifestation was, she hovered protectively over the ground. It was then that she let out a war cry unlike any other, vociferous and ghastily synthetic in its sound, echoing throughout the glade and perhaps beyond. The impudent man and his bodyguards could close in on her as much as they wanted... the huntress always slew its chosen prey.
The lights of her ultramodern bodysuit pulsated violated, making it appear as if it was close to breaking apart. Two golden, bestial glows emerged from beneath her visor, eyes of the apex predator scanning its spoil vigilantly. Her large gun flared up in a similar way, raw energy leaking out of it like black hole ejecting what it had consumed before the end of its life cycle. Winds turned as violent as they did outside the artificial clearing, the source being the highly professional mercenary's very power.
"Accelerated Particle Storm..." She whispered with a grave tone to her voice, aiming her weapon straight at Denryu - although only to impose fear. A massive projectile of searing, blue plasma manifested itself in front of the barrel, easily towering over its creator and those she opposed. "Begone!" Cion exclaimed, wishing nothing else but to grant her enemies a one-way ticket to oblivion. What better poetic justice than complete annihilation? Which made it all the pleasant to know that, unlike digimons, humans were bound to a meager, single life.
With a single pulse, the beam released itself from the rifle's barrel, splitting into hundreds of bolts which were released in dozens of waves - similar to an automatic shotgun being fired relentlessly. With the speed of actual bullets and an almost circular spread they soared through the air, destroying everything in their path. Almost miraculously so, they traveled around those the CyberSagitamon considered allies - and so some did with her adversaries as well to tear through their defenses. This onslaught continued for several seconds, assuring every spot in front of her got turned into incandescent cinder.
This was not the faint might of a passive ability... the unleashed forces were far beyond the average attack of a digimon of the Mega level.
Many of the attack's projectiles soared out of the glade and towards the Devidramon, moving around Alicia if the need arose. Not only would they strike the demonic dragon, they would interact with the lodged beams which were the very source that enabled this skill in the first place. Energetic webs would violently spread out of them while the beams faded, snaring lady Westfield's enemy's every limb and blinding it due to sheer glaring brightness the matterless fibers emitted.

Alicia growled as she heard the cannon’s retort off the Blimpmon. It was firing? Now? Why? There was no point in trying to puzzle that out. That would provide a critical opening for the Devidramon to exploit. The liquid dragon’s growl grew in depth and loudness as the Xros’d digimon showed the grim determination necessary to survive anything, interposing his arm into the path of the Mercurial Divider.
As both sides expected, Alicia from seeing it and Devidramon for going through with it, with heavy slash the arm was lopped off near the dark dragon’s shoulder. It had barely provided any resistance whatsoever, even. The electric currents, however, did run down the liquid blades, jolting Alicia and halting the attack there.
“Ah!” That made her flinch briefly, letting the severed limp hit her dead center and run its remaining charge through her body. The bearer of Steel couldn’t help it, she howled as it ran it’s course. And then a most unexpected development happened. Several beams flew out from the barrier that hid the Tree of Life from view, arcing around her and slamming into the dark dragon she was facing and, for lack of a better word, completely webbed him up.
He was crippled. He was vulnerable. And Alicia was not about to waste this chance given to her, presumably by Cion. Throwing the electrified limb away, Alicia charged, putting herself completely under the bound demon and curling up on herself.
She had one last trick up her sleeve she’d not shown before now.
“Fright... BURST!”
The mercurial dragon made her body erupt into a vicious ball of spikes, most of them in prime position to skewer the demon completely on them. That would almost certainly be enough to bring him down, letting her rejoin the rest of her team. Or maybe take out that cannon? She had options now...
Battle Log:
Alicia’s Mercurial Divider from last turn completely severs Devidramon’s arm.
Alicia, however, eats significant damage from the countering Raider’s Claw. The price of sacrificing defense to increase offense.
Once Devidramon is bound by Cion’s Accelerated Particle Storm, Alicia engages and positions herself to end this skirmish with Fright Burst.

One last problem in the way.
As Ceresmon's avatar rested on her knees, the look that she shot back to Denryu was absolutely defiant. Here he was, the threat that had been terrorizing this island for days on end - a mere human, of all things, and she was powerless to stop him. The continuous onslaught of the Blimpmon's fire against the floating titan of a Digimon made it next to impossible to her to move. All she could do, at this point, was put her faith in Cion:
"Tear this heathen to shreds!"
Fortunately for her request, Cion intended to do exactly that: with the conditions set up against the out-of-sight Devidramon, the mega let out arguably her most powerful attack: A wide-spread shot of individual energy blasts that react to light she's already embedded in the enemy. Unfortunately for you, that's next to useless if you know it's coming.
The... hell? As if acting on perfect information, before the blast was even fired, Denryu moved to counter - tucking himself close to the nearby Knightmon, a knowledgable glint already in his eye. Shield held forward, holding the Xros general under his free arm, the warrior waited for the attack to come. Once that blast was fired out?
"Blitz!"
"For her honor!"
The madman sprinted forward, for the left of the tree, cutting right through the spread! With the sudden shift in movement, purposeful random side-steps included in the formula, the Knightmon intended to brute force his way forward. No, there was more than that: each blast that hit his shield wasn't taken in full, the light deflecting upwards, off the side of above the shield. The defensive master even angled that enchanted piece of metal slightly - even if the blasts as a whole were more powerful than a mega, his shield had already proven durable enough to stand up to these fragments!
It wasn't just the Knightmon either: even locked in a fight with the noble steed, the Renamon, with her speed enhanced, found herself able to quickly delve through the holes in the attack. Those that did manage to snake their way through met the middle of her shield, deflected easily off the mega-level buckler! Hmph! We're lucky that move's one of her two strongest!
Granted, the defense wasn't perfect: impressive though the charge may have been, no less than three beams managed to piece through the Knightmon's side, audible grunts of pain escaping from his helmet. But this close to his target, the guardian didn't care: once they had weathered the worst of the storm, they would keep the sprinting pattern, keeping the Knightmon's shield directly between Denryu and the huntress at all times. Once more releasing the Xros General from that grip - and far closer to the tree than before - Knightmon would attempt to set up his guard right by the godly plant's side, as the tamer himself attempted to press against the plant, for cover!
Unfortunately, even with advance notice of the move, the Xros'd Devidramon was in no position to block against Cion's incredibly powerful display! Growling in defiance as those binds set into place, the metallic demon desperately tried to claw through the webbing with its one remaining arm - to little effect, and not nearly in time! Its eyes soon stared downwards, just as the metallic Digimon tensed up...
... And sent its spikes upwards, through the Digimon's chest and neck! Held in place, gasping for breath, the entire Digimon started to fall into phase...
"X... Xros Change!"
And, erupting into light, the combined Digimon slipped right outside that grip, the monster rapidly changing form! Rather than the Devidramon that had been her opponent for so long, a much smaller Bakemon floated in her presence, the energy net idly slipping through its ethereal form. Even in this form, though, the damage was clear, metallic fangs and dark cloak unable to mask the missing arm and holes through its visage.
Then again, that wasn't the point: it simply called out its technique, with a ghastly breath:
"Zombie Saver!"
Immediately after the declaration, the Bakemon's form broke, three black, ghastly spheres forming in the air - which swiftly moved in the direction of the barrier. Were they simply on the retreat, or was this a facade to conserve energy?
Log: 1) Particle Accelerator is both expired and cancelled. 2) Evasion Protocol is in effect. (3/3) 3) Renamon is engaging Chirinmon. 4) Both Accelerated Particle Storm and Fright Burst deal heavy damage to Devidramon. 5) Devidramon slide Xros's into Bakemon. 6) Bakemon uses 'Zombie Saver'. All components of the Xros revert to a form to be stored on the Xros Loader. 7) Denryu and all opposing combatants have advance notice of 'Accelerated Particle Storm' through the use of Improved Scanner from their earlier encounter with Cion. 8) Knightmon rushes forward through Accelerated Particle Storm. Individual blasts of Accelerated Particle Storm do not meet the threshold to destroy Knightmon's shield. The angle of the shield further dulls the impact. Overall damage received is light. 9) Utilizing Evasion Protocol and Raider's shield, Renamon is similarly unscathed. 10) After their 'blitz', Knightmon maintains a position between Cion and Denryu, as the Xros General attempts to approach the tree. 11) Blimpmon continues to fire down upon Ceresmon.

There stood reason to hold anger, frustration, sorrow and many more emotions all thrown into a cocktail of chaotic discord - but honestly speaking, all there really was was apathy. As Cion saw the results of what should have been the rewarding outcome of a long-pursued plan, it reminded her of her zone being carried away by the winds. It was just... irritating and in vain, like nothing anyone here did mattered. Were it the powers of Xros or unfortunate determinism, there was not anything that worked against it. Rookies rivaling Megas, attacks being either dodged deflected with ease. In her eyes, there was simply no point to any of this mess.
Alas... the heart of a paragon was among the most stubborn. After a bothered sigh which spoke louder than a thousand words, it was only that hope that the unlikely chance of her previous move having affected the Devidramon that kept her pushing forward - or backward rather. For if Alicia finally managed to overcome that reptilian demon, she could finally focus on ripping the male human's head off. With Mitsuko's partner kept busy by the Renamon, the angelic digimon doing the deed was unlikely.
But there was simply not much of significance Cion could do to contritube for the moment. Her arsenal was empty - not that it mattered. A gracile yet powerful leap was all it took for her to stand near the tree, guarding it with not much else than her body. That and of course the barrier she engulfed the thus far unharmed vulpine soldier. For Mitsuko's partner it was probably a heal due to suffered injuries, and for the avatar of Ceresmon it definitely was.
Hopefully, with some regained vitality, it could do something about the intruders - although the CyberSagitamon did not hold her breath.
Battle Log:

Alicia snarled in rage as the Devidramon at first appeared to have another trick up it’s non-existant sleeve, changing forms into some kind of ghost digimon. A technique was called out, but instead of launching any kind of attack at her, the digimon broke up into three orbs and flew away.
“Are you kidding me!?” To say she was happy about what was going on was an understatement.
”Cool it, kid, that one’s out of commission as far as this fight is concerned. You won this match.” Sol cut in with a sigh ”Focus on re-grouping, we’ll deal with the blimp’s barrage when we can co-ordinate an assault.”
“... Fine...” Alicia grumbled out, her form rippling as she rearranged her strengths. Now she was far sleeker than when she had started, and her ‘skin’ had toughened back up. She just needed to get into the next fight as soon as she could, then become Metalumindramon to hold out until someone could offer up some healing.
Figure smoking from the earlier lightning attack, Alicia broke into a four-legged dash faster than any she’d ever made before. She blitzed the distance between her and the shrouded tree in a matter of seconds, long out running the Zombie Saver as well. She didn’t like what she’d seen, the heartless Xros General was practically right up against the tree, and Mitsuko’s partner, who had apparently slided to a different form somewhere along the line, was more or less preoccupied with the Renamon.
Cion, meanwhile... just seemed depressed, frankly. Had the fight been going that poorly in here? Well, regardless, now she was here to help. With speed like quicksilver, she covered the distance and came up right behind Denryu before anyone had the chance to notice. He’d only have time to notice the shadow suddenly appear over him. Then with a fierce roar, Alicia moved to swat the General away from the tree. She’d very much like to actually score a strike on him, but getting him away from his protective support would be viable as well.
She’d certainly come under fire from the Knightmon once she announced herself, but she was far too quick for him to be able to catch her like this. Unless he had some kind of broken hitscan move, she could dive away from his attacks, shift to Metalumindramon, and counter back. One could argue that she was the worst opponent for them because she was both inherently frustrating to deal with and far too much of an immediate threat to simply ignore.
Battlelog:
Alicia shifts her Amorphous Form buffs around again, overdriving Speed and reducing her over all offensive power, seeing as her intended target is very frail as it is.
Using her newfound top speed, Alicia dashes into the barrier, takes a second to assess the situation, and blitz her way behind Denryu, and swings a large forelimb as an attempt to strike him and get him away from his guard Knightmon and the Tree of Life.
Amorphous Form Effects: Power: v Defense: -- Speed: ^^
Mercurial Divider is up next turn. Fright Burst is up next turn.

No follow-up? Very well then...
At this point, it wasn't hard for Denryu to keep his position. With the powerful surge of 'Particle Beam Storm' finally winding down, and with the fight against an Armor Ultimate slowly pulling in the Renamon's favor, it was largely up to Cion to keep up the pressure - and merely moving into position was not enough to deter either the Knightmon nor the General from making their approach. Keeping their sprint as the CyberSagitamon landed, the Knightmon kept his shield facing towards the huntress as Denryu cut around in a tight circle, making his way behind the tree!
"Damn it, keep that mongrel away!" Ceresmon's words cut in like a sharp knife. From some distance away, the Dracmon's gaze rested on the Xros General:
From the method of teleportation to now, he's been insistent on getting to the tree by himself... but why? Surely it would have been safer for one of the Digimon to make the approach. Why does it have to be him? His thought, he figured, was about to be answered as Denryu reached into his pocket -
- No, strike that, Alicia was quick on the scene! With the sound of cannon-fire still hammering through the Ceresmon's shell, it seemed that the spirit wielder's approach had gone without notice! She was set to strike right into the human's back, but in that span, a flash of blue light took hold, the Renamon's 'Kohenkyo' putting her right in the way!
"Don't touch the master!" The Renamon growled, the strike landing clean in the center of her buckler, as her own forearm moved to thrust Denryu far out of the way of this threat. It was quite fortunate for the Renamon that her true strength returned with the expiration of that 'Evasion' card: one good blow had taken Chirinmon down to the form of an Angemon, and now the fox kept her focus on that disgusting pile of metal.
For now, the fight reached a standstill. As Denryu recovered his poise, the Dracmon's curious eyes caught something odd. In his right hand was the Xros Loader, as could be expected, but what was with that yellow D-Tector in his left? A quick scan revealed no spirits within, but somehow, the screen gave a light pulse. What could he-
"!!" The realization came. It was stupidly lucky that Alicia did what she just did: "Don't let him near the tree again! That bastard's after its Fractal Code!"
"Tch..." Damn imp figured it out, did he?
Log: 1) Evasion Protocol has expired. 2) With the expiration of Evasion Protocol, Renamon regains her full mega strength, and manages to out-muscle Chirinmon. 3) The spirits affected by Zombie Saver are still in transit. 4) Blimpmon continues to fire down upon Ceresmon. 5) Knightmon continues to 'screen' Cion with his shield, allowing Denryu nearer the tree. 6) Renamon, upon Alicia's approach, forcefully uses Kohenkyo to put herself in position between them. The physical attack is met with the fox's buckler, as Denryu is shoved away from the tree. 7) In addition to his Xros Loader, Denryu has revealed a yellow D-Tector. He seems to have no synergy with it other than the ability to use its basic functions.

"I healed you, so defend yourself as well!" Cion exclaimed back at the avatar of Ceresmon, believing it too had to contribute its part to do something against the tenacious invaders. The CyberSagitamon could only help those who were willing to push through strenuous trials themselves. If a single hit was all it took for the embodiment of this titanic, avian digimon to submit to both enemies and temporary guardians, then what point was there to protect it? The minute it was alone it would be subject to further assault and hesitation due to naive concerns. Too inert to know when certain things had to be... immolated.
Still, the synthetic mercenary was bound to stay her ground as to adhere to the code of honor and duty she had vowed to follow the day she had joined P.R.O.F.I.T. - in the long run, she had to assure its reputation and monetary gains and with that her own were secured. Besides, the elysian fruits' ability to heal great illness was useful for the general populace, an idea that the human scum behind the attack certainly did not care for. Everything that was good be damned if such a little sleaze got its avaricious hands on them.
"Yes, touch the master!" Cion bellowed, encouraging Alice who had fortunately returned victoriously to continue her unrelenting onslaught. Ultimately, once the vile chap was a goner, there would be no reason for his corrupted minions to keep on fighting, except if they were guided by a misguided sense of vengeance. Unfortunately... that proposition was hard to fulfill, especially now where Mitsuko's partner had done goofed. "An Ultimate losing to an empowered Rookie... it's one of those days..." She complained in whispers, letting out a sigh that was destined to echo throughout the many realms of the blahs.
Still, Denryu had been thrown of his guard, giving the hired sentinels a few yet valuable seconds. Eager to proceed with the clash at hand, it was the Dracmon's sudden interference which briefly caught her attention. "It's what?" The ascended CyberSagitamon asked out loud, never having heard this term before throughout her centuries of existence within several incarnations. Alas she had no clue what the imp was talking about, but... it was not difficult for her to adhere to his instructions. "Very well!" Cion uttered firmly, her golden, bestial eyes behind her helmet shifting to the persistent boy.
With another snap of her armored fingers, a brief flash of light appeared beneath the male's feet. Only a few blinks of an eye later, it burst into a sphere of gravitational distortion which sought to capture him as if he was a trout hunted by fishermen. Hopefully, the small amount of damage it deal was agonizing to the fragile human. Increasing in size rapidly, the translucent singularity tore at the other hostile individuals within the glade, seeking to suck them in as well, or at the very least heavily disrupt their movement for as long as it lasted.
"Get him!" The biomechanical mercenary instructed her partners, believing that imposing all focus upon Denryu was a valid strategy to bring disarray to their enemies' ranks. With the hope that Angemon too played along, she took good aim at the dastard, not bothered by her attempting to shoot him like a clay pigeon. Of course she expected a Knightmon attempting to interfere... but that would only bring it closer to the spot of warped space-time - perfect prey for Alicia. Maybe... there was hope after all.

Alicia huffed as the Renamon seemed to teleport in front of her, shoving Denryu out of the way of her attack and blocking it with ease herself. Well, that was a Mega equivalent for you. Quick on their feet and just as strong. She didn’t stand a chance of trading blows with the fox in her current condition, and she hoped Cion realized she was fairly injured and lobbed at least some healing ability her way. It was a lot to ask without directly prompting the vulpine, though. And she wasn’t about to air her condition to opponents that would probably be more than willing to dog pile her and bring her down hard if she showed weakness. Especially after attempting to attack their general like that.
Unfortunately, she knew that with the continued barrage, Ceresmon Medium would still be out of commission. Even with Cion’s significant healing power. So she wanted desperately to snap at Cion to understand she’s not only injured but exhausted as well. “You held out as long as you could, pal... I’ve got it from here.” Alicia whispered, seeing Mitsuko’s partner down for the count it seemed.
They... were after the tree’s Code!? But that couldn’t be unless- Yes, yes the blasted General did have a back up D-Scanner. Well, if that was their goal than she knew what she had to do. And Cion once again came through with the perfect set up, pinning the human in place with one of her abilities.
She kicked her leg out and attempted to sweep the Renamon’s feet out from under her, which would give the Mercurialdramon plenty of time to break away from the Xros’d fox and blitz her way towards the stunned human. She wasn’t sure if Cion’s gravity well would effect allies as well, so she circled a bit until she had the secondary device in sight and whipped both arms and her tail out in zigzagging patterns, all seeking out the enemy’s D-Scanner with an attempt to pilfer it from his hand.
If she could steal it from him, their whole plan feel apart until they could retrieve it, right?
Battle log:
Alicia attempts to trip Renamon with her supercharged speed and makes a break for it away from the fox digimon.
Once she sighted the D-Scanner, she stretches out her hands and tail and launches them in confusing patterns to try and steal the device away from Denryu.

If it were just a single blast from the Blimpmon, Ceresmon's avatar would have long since been on her feet. As it stood with that continued bombardment, Cion's explanation only served to further frustrate the sorceress, the avatar barely managing to struggle back up to her feet. "It's not me that's hurt, you mechanical heathen..." Oh great, back to this.
Unfortunately, things would not be as simple as Cion surmised. These weren't just mercenaries dragged along by Denryu for this task. In fact, except for the Knightmon who retained his form, every single member of the Xros General's army had fought tooth and nail alongside him before. That the Renamon so swiftly moved into position, to defend Denryu rather than to attack Cion or defend the tree, spoke volumes. With her fangs bared and a harsh growl escaping her throat, she kept her gaze level with the metallic spirit, very much preparing to run through the one she viewed as a worthless upstart.
Unfortunately for Denryu and the Renamon, though, the game was up: the Dracmon's sudden declaration earned the imp a glare from the general, as well as a very brief and very cross glance from the Renamon. At such hostility, the Dracmon pulled himself a bit further away from the fight...
... But Cion and Alicia weren't about to let up on that single target! As the CyberSagitamon brought his focus to the tamer, the Knightmon near her gave a harsh step forward! "Enough out of you!" It seemed the ultimate couldn't give Cion an inch - as that 'Particle Beam Storm' shot past his side, the warrior pressed in, attempting to slam the front of his shield against Cion's frame. Even if it was short, that very shield would give a brilliant, white glow:
"Holy Blast!" That built-up energy would blast out, attempting to shove Cion further away from the tree, and the central fight - should this land, he'd keep pressing forward, not wanting to let the cybernetic Digimon regain an inch of ground!
That said, the 'Translucent Singularity' did its job - an ability with a rather quick cast was easily able to surround the tamer, keeping him locked right in place. That follow-up bolt looked quite dangerous - and it forced the Renamon into position, raising that shield to deflect that shining blast. Forced to block high, Alicia found her efforts low would have merit, managing to catch the Renamon by an ankle and send her off-balance! The Mecurialdramon would try and split away...
... As the Renamon would dig her feet into the ground, her cutlass sparking with harsh electricity! "I said no!" Knowing full-well that the metal dragon anticipated her chase, she kicked off in a sprint, readying that cutlass in her right hand. Just when Alicia would try and make her lunge, the Renamon would try and counter with her own Raider's Slash, both trying to slash directly through that metal body while also discharging a powerful electrical arc of energy:
The Renamon wanted to both stop those gripping arms short, while simultaneously sending several thousand volts screaming down that metal frame!
Log1) The spirits affected by Zombie Saver are still in transit. 2) Blimpmon continues to fire down upon Ceresmon. 3) Transluscent Singularity pins Denryu! Renamon is forced to stand and deflect Particle Beam Storm! 4) Alicia successfully manipulates the Renamon's footing - but on the backpedal, the fox charges, attempting to slash through those extended arms while electrocuting Alicia through Raider's Slash! 5) The Knightmon attempts to stall the CyberSagitamon with a point-blank use of Holy Blast!

Well... what did they have there? A critical hit of her singularity against the impudent human? Now that was truly a sight to behold for Cion, bringing great satisfaction and joy to the otherwise grumpy soldier. After so much misfortune and downright risible cheating on part of Denryu and his team, a single success which was followed up by an attempt of Alicia to hopefully slay the insufferable lad was more than enough to reinvigorate the synthetic mercenary's spirit.
So much so that she did not even pay the avatar of Ceresmon and its impudence any of her true ire. "Heathen? Cute..." She responded quietly with the certainty that she had contributed more to the well-being of the digital world and good digimons than it had ever planned to do.
Shaking her head, the vulpine marksman pushed those thought out of her mind as to not be bereft of her absolute focus. Although having managed to emerged victoriously this once, any faux pas and their efforts were bound to be in vain. And as stated before, she'd be damned if such avaricious pieces of scum such as the Xros 'general' got his clutches on wondrous items like the fruit of the magnificent tree she served as a temporary guardian for.
Not yet sure if the Knightmon leaving his position as the personal sentinel of Denryu was a good or bad thing, Cion simply remained still and smiled behind her helmet, amused by the Ultimate's attempts to prevent a Mega from fulfilling her duty. A mere blink of an eye before its large shield would have collided with her frame, the power to conjure her signature, prismatic force field returned to the armored cyborg. Appearing in an instant, it easily consumed the forces of the bash and the subsequent blast. Able to withstand multiple attacks from digimons of the CyberSagitamon's level, its wrongly named burst of energy was hardly an issue.
If rebounded like a rubber ball or not, the solid and transparent bastion lingered on for a few yet vital moments, block direct access to her. "My dear - you are among the last who are eligible to utilize the word 'holy' when referring to your actions." Cion gravely reprimanded the Knightmon, her firm stance however shifting to something more relaxed as a faint chuckle escaped her lips. "But thank you for leaving your fosterling exposed." She voiced sarcastic gratitude.
An instant later and she leapt backwards, making use of her jetpacks to get behind the curvature of her barrier and continue her assault on the man. With her singularity gone, a simple shot at his underside likely sufficed to remove him from the picture. Fragile little human... what would the rascal do now?

Alicia turned just slightly, smiling at the Renamon as the Xros’d digimon managed to give chase despite her attempt to knock the fox over. She’d managed to force the Xros into a run, or even a sprint maybe. With the crackling electricity running down the blade, and the angered shout, the Renamon wasn’t exactly subtle about the intervention. She was in for a rude awakening though. Certainly, there were attacks that even Alicia wasn’t fast enough to dodge, regardless of her boosted speed.
An energized sword slash, unfortunately for the Renamon, was not on that list, even if it was coming from a Mega-equivalent. With the slightest flick of her limbs, the stretching arms and tail swooped low and under the Renamon’s body, going into the empty air from the fox’s sprinting stride, and coming back up behind her. All the Xros’d fox had managed was delaying Alicia’s move by a half a second, and she plucked the D-Scanner off and away from Denryu, the limbs snapping back to her in short order.
“Well, I don’t think you’ll be doing much with the Code without this. I’ll just hang onto it for a while.” Alicia quipped with a grin as she put a little more distance between herself and the Renamon. And in short order the yellow D-Scanner she just stole sunk into her mercurial hand, vanishing without a visible trace as she held it within her form. Very carefully at that to make sure their weren’t any accidents. She was tempted to fling it off of Ceresmon’s back, frankly, but she wasn’t sure if they had some kind of insane retrieval method that would let them get it back in time to make a difference if she did.
Now what though. The Renamon was still quite a problem. And a team like this probably had a back up plan... She winced a bit as Cion took a shot at Denryu after her quick scuffle with the Knightmon. Effective if it worked, certainly, but now that she wasn’t seeing red she didn’t particularly care to resort to murderous intentions against someone who decidedly would not revive later. And she wasn’t able to make any meaningful impact at the moment, having sacrificed her strength for the speed she needed to pull the theft off. And now that she was hanging onto the yellow D-Scanner, Metalumindramon wasn’t exactly an inviting option anymore...
“Scalding Metal!” So she loosed a spray of boiling mercury at the Knightmon, hoping to keep him busy with an attack that likely spread too much for his shield to completely block. She was keeping an eye on the Renamon though, expecting the fox to be utterly furious with her now.
Battle Log.
Alicia evades the Raider’s Slash by sweeping her limbs under the Renamon, finding an opening in her sprint.
With her move only slightly delayed, she than swipes Denryu’s (borrowed?) D-Scanner, and hides it inside her liquid body with all due caution.
Analyzing the situation, she engages against Knightmon with Scalding Metal.

If the Renamon made one mistake, it was letting her emotions rule: all sense of subtlety had escaped this trained Digimon, her anger solely focused on lowering her blade on this insolent spirit. It was this tunnel-vision that cost her: before she even realized it, the metal spirit had simply vanished before her angered eyes, left in shock as the Mercurialdramon vanished from sight.
Left pinned in place, it was simple enough for Alicia to snag away the D-Tector away from Denryu's grip - but at that quip, Denryu's gaze was leveled heavily with the spirit wielder. "What a waste... if you could do that, shouldn't you have stolen the Xros Loader instead?" The tone was interesting, almost as if he was sharing criticism rather than bantering with a foe. Of course, that did not lower the fact that this was a battlefield in any respect of the word. Alicia was able to increase her distance, the Renamon giving a snarl - but before she chased, she did manage to see that shot originating from Cion.
There was no time to guess calculating the shield - she knew she could take one! Using 'Kohenkyo' to put herself right in position, that particle shot struck directly against the Renamon's midsection, the fox gritting her teeth as it struck. She was dazed, but fine, holding up her shield and blade, as the Knightmon was forced to turn her own shield on the metal spirit.
"Hmph! Don't consider us out of the woods just because of that!"
Indeed - at that moment, the grey spheres from before - Bakemon's Zombie Saver - broke through the side of the clearing! In the next moment, the three returned to the Xros Loader, the Renamon giving a grin:
"Heh. C'mon, Denryu - let's wipe them out with 'Titan'!" The Renamon's bloodlust was palatable, but the Xros General, giving one glance down to the Digivice, simply gave a 'tsk'.
"No. We're done."
"Wait... what?" The Dracmon's tone wavered, blinking at Denryu's declaration.
"But we can still fight! Why-"
"Exactly because we can still fight. Sis, stop the barrage." Denryu briefly spoke into his mic, and a moment later, the rumbling against the Ceresmon's shell stopped, the battlefield held in a weird sense of peace. Once more, the general's voice spoke up:
"As I said, we're withdrawing." His tone was addressed to both Cion and Alicia. "Speak up with your demands if you want, but try and fight us further, and we'll have no choice but to ensure our mutual destruction." His tone made it hard to tell if it was bluffing at that last point or not.
"Tch - after all this," the Ceresmon stood, "You think you can just leave so easily?!"
"At this point, I suggest you take what you can get."

Alicia got the scanner? Oh what glorious success and efficiency, thought the fiendish man put up a decent point. Perhaps it would have been better to remove the device that enabled Xros-abilities instead, but a small victory sufficed regardless. But it made Cion wonder on the reason why he had voiced these ideas in the first place. Was there a chance that his insufferable fool recognized the futility of his efforts and intended to surrender? Considering how he and his team came together to guard each other's back, this idea was not too far-fetched, but that did not mean that the CyberSagitamon dropped her guards.
Behind her helmet and full-body exo-suit, her bestial yet synthetic eyes narrowed as the beheld the group of foes in front of her. It was obvious that none of the digimons carried themselves with 'grace and fairness' as the human, being mere pawns to someone selfish and avaricious. However, they clearly submitted to his will, which was both disgusting and advantageous. Hence the vulpine soldier's stance relaxed somewhat, no longer aiming her futuristic anti-material rifle at the male ape's underside. If he was willing to cease fire, then she would at least hear him out.
"Huh..." Cion uttered amusedly before harrumphing, entertained by the notion that the only outcome of continued battle was mutual destruction. Such arrogance... as if the possibility of the heroes having a hidden ace up their sleeves was unfeasible. In any case, to the CyberSagitamon's surprise, she found herself agreeing with Ceresmon and its avatar for once, sharing the lack of desire of letting these villains leave unscathed... or alive for that matter. Parasites had to be dealt with, not appeased.
"Indeed... this result is even less desirable than reciprocal annihilation." She calmly yet firmly spoke her mind, taking a few steps towards the gang of weaponized thugs. It was evident that she was at least able to pretend that she had nothing worthwhile to lose, and that the satisfaction of wiping out an (from her point of view) evildoer was far greater than the anguish of exitus. But maybe... Denryu had something irresistible to offer; curious how desperate he'd become to survive.

Well, they were in no danger of losing the Tree of Life and Ceresmon by extension with her theft, at least, but Denryu brought up a good point. Fortunately, Alicia was able to resist the face palm urge. And came up with a comeback fairly quickly.
“Well, I didn’t want to find out what would happen if the Xros Loader wasn’t in your possession when those guys in the Zombie Saver came back. Let alone if they had passed through my body if I enveloped it.” That had sounded like bad news for her, frankly, and she wasn’t that insane to think nothing would happen. Of course, the real reason was tunnel vision from the very near failure of the mission.
And then it seemed the fighting would stop, the Blimpmon ceased firing, and the general seemed much more willing to cut his losses and leave, rather than invoke the ‘Titan’ the Renamon spoke of. Live and let live sounded pretty good to her at this point. Ceresmon obviously wasn’t happy about it and was willing to push the issue regardless of the threat, but this seemed like a really dangerous mentality to have... A mentality that Cion seemed to share. Or was at least faking it for some reason.
”Enough, Cion.” came the steel dragon’s voice as he materialized again, interposing himself between the CyberSagitamon and the Xros General. ”That man is not bluffing, and someone as aged and experienced as you should have realized that. You won’t get anything of enough worth to satisfy your reasoning out of him. He can and will kill us all first, and even Ceresmon is liable to be killed in this ‘Titan’s’ attack. That is a risk that is unacceptable. Especially for those of us who won’t reincarnate afterwards.”
The dragon spirit was well aware that this would almost certainly draw a vast amount of ire from both Cion and Ceresmon to him, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t about to blow a completed mission out of petty revenge or greed or whatever was driving these two.
”Indeed. We have everything to gain and nothing of importance to lose from him deciding to cut his losses and retreat. The opposite holds true for trying to pressure him for anything significant: Everything to lose, nothing to gain. There’s only one request I personally would want to make. We’ve recently been operating under the assumption that there are hostages aboard your sibling’s Blimpmon friend, seeing as Ceresmon was hesitating to shoot it down. Please let them go, now that you’re planning to evacuate from this area.”
Honestly, Alicia was wondering what had gotten into Cion’s head herself. Wasn’t them leaving mission accomplished? They drove off the enemy and protected Ceresmon and the Tree of Life. On top of the satisfaction of doing that, they’d get a good reward for it once they got back. So Cion trying to pressure him like this read entirely as pure greed and was completely nonsensical to her. Plus she was straight up done with this.
... Denryu would probably want the D-Scanner back at some point though. It did rightfully belong to someone he knew. She’d see if he remembered to mention it.

If Denryu had merely been bluffing, if this was a mere plea to surrender, perhaps Cion's approach would have made Denryu step back, or the Renamon's expression to change from frustrated acceptance. However, the Xros General did not waver or move from his spot, silently clenching his hand around the Xros Loader. And, for just a brief second, Cion, Alicia, and the rest of the Digimon and spirits around would be able to feel it:
A sharp increase of energy. A blazing emerald aura, surrounding Denryu's hand and Xros Loader, the energy reaching a peak well beyond mega. The Renamon tensed, as if preparing for the worst...
... Just as Sol's voice would finally cut in. Hearing those words of reason start, the light died down, the Renamon having done little more than take a single step in Cion's direction, to ward her away from her action. "W... what the hell... how could someone like you..."
"Sovereign ---ing Christ..." The Dracmon gave his own swear, as Denryu simply listened to the two spirits speak. "Smart dragon. Ya also might wanna think of the lil' angel here who would be caught up-"
"Shut up. Don't aggravate it further." Though willing, Denryu definitely didn't want to tap into more power than necessary. In fact, all that mattered was Kisara's request, the Xros General reaching his hand to his ear: "Land at coordinates XV-87. Yes, just south of the Timberlands. Then teleport out before the rest of them come in." At his very words, the Blimpmon above sounded its horn - and slowly moved to sink below the clouds.
"And you." Denryu leveled his gaze at Alicia, as he clicked a button on his Xros Loader, his own portal opening up. It seemed to lead out into some area in Japan, by the appearance - was that a performer's tent in the background? "My sister would very much appreciate it if you toss out that Xros Loader with a sandwich wrapper - two days from now, in Whitewater Center. If not? I'll figure out how to find you, I guess."
"Wait for me!" If left unimpeded, the Knightmon would be the first to tear through the portal - followed by Denryu, leaving one sharp glance over his shoulder.
He glared to Cion. "Overconfident." Then to Alicia: "Sloppy." He turned, one last comment given to the pair: "Improve. And don't get wrapped up in this shit like I do."
Left alone, he and the fox would vanish through the portal a moment later, closing solidly behind them.
