A Hell of Your Own Making [Nol]

The duties of the Guardian weren't all that complicated. Viktor sat there, Viktor watched the orb, Viktor didn't move until the Orb told him. In the time he was indoctrinated into this position, only once did the Orb move him and it was only because there was some small work to be done on the statues, including the one of his human form. It was then tucked away behind some other pillars to clear space for renovations. Viktor didn't mind the sudden company, it was the only thing resembling entertainment in what felt like an eternity. Truthfully, he was unsure how long the Orb controlled him, but it felt like years.
Something was off with him, and he knew it. Though he felt it was not negative. The sword he held for so long in front of him... he could feel it. Not a single time did he even move the sword, save the small move. Yet he could tell that if the time came, he'd be more than capable of using the weapon. But as protected as the Orb was; He wondered if he'd even have to use the weapon. The defenses they had, the people guarding and the ancient Digimon that swore to protect this Orb... it was unlikely anything would be so bold to attack.
Suddenly, a buzz in the back of his head. The Orb, moreover, it spoke to him!
"Guardian... Ready yourself. A powerful foe approaches.
Viktor cocked his head, was this really happening? Was someone so strong really about to walk through that door. Viktor wasted no time to relish in his ability to move around again. The Orb had released it's hold and locked itself down into layers of shielding. He kept the sword firmly placed in front of him as he tightened his grip. The doors opened, he took a deep breath in.
Suddenly, an Impmon appeared. It looked confused, almost like it was lost. Yet, something was... off. The Impmon hadn't noticed yet, but Viktor was watching him with laser focus. To him, he probably still looked like a statue from his lack of movement. It walked to the Orb and smiled;
"Well, that was easier than I thought."
It was time to make himself known. He simply lifted his sword and tapped it against the marble floor. The small Digimon lurched back, taken aback by the large statue that was very much alive.
"Rats, I didn't know they replaced the Guardian. Well, not like it matters."
He held his arms out and dropped to his knees. Holding his abdomen and sinking over. A symbol formed around him that resembled a pentagram with strange symbols around it. Viktor kept the sword well in place as the Impmon began to turn into a blinding light, that blinding light became a much larger creature that stood almost eye-to-eye with Viktor. It had a beast like bottom-half, with a red torso that carried arms much to long for the creature's stature. It only smiled as it brought it's arms back;
"Ready to duel with the Devil?"
Viktor didn't waste any time, he kicked the sword's blade upward and brought it parallel with the ground, rushing the demon. The beast was smart, leaping laterally and effectively dodging the attack. Viktor's was more of a probing attack, to see what he'd do. He held the blade out and rushed again, another dodge.
Come on you disjointed freak, hit me.
He spun the sword and rushed one more time. The demon finally responded with a swipe of his claw. Viktor dropped the blade and shoulder, the claw gliding clean over him as he slipped under the demon. With a hand under the armpit of the overly long arm, and another still on the sword but still used to brace the foe, the demon would find itself flipping end over end into the wall just opposite of the Orb.
The demon stood up, wiping it's comparatively dwarfed lip to the wrist that wiped it. He smiled and took a step forward;
"Guardians sure are troublesome. But... I wonder if you can last forever."
The demon tapped it's own shoulder and Viktor felt a sudden weakness set upon him. There was a single, circular hole relatively small to his form. But it had to have been a venomous attack.
"Venom Infusion. Basically eats all your data away. You can kill me, but you'll be dead before you have a chance to chant victory."
A buzz in his head, the Orb speaking yet again;
You are fine. End this threat.
The demon took opportunity of Viktor being distracted to rush him. As he did, Viktor felt his power return to him and brought the sword up, side stepping as slashing as the demon rushed. As he planted his feet, he watched as the Demon lost control and slammed into the wall, shattering the layer of rock that made the foundation. He stood back up and coughed, laying his large hand on the ground and cursing.
Viktor approached cautiously as he raised his sword to finish it. The Orb finally permitting him to speak;
"You tried."
He brought the sword a little higher and began to swing downward. However, VenmonMyotismon was waiting for that exact moment. He dropped to his back and fired a blue fire from his belly that engulfed the guardian and sent him flying into the wall. He slid off the wall into the ground as he took a knee, his armor taking most of the damage but his form under still very much burned from the attack. He grunted as the demon didn't wait, it swiped him with a flaming claw and sent him reeling into the center by the orb. With another grunt, he sat up and took a knee infront of the orb. The demon laughed as he rushed for his final attack.
"You. Tried!" he spoke as he rushed with extreme speed.
Viktor looked up, counting in his head and waiting a split second before he brought his sword up and around his back, the blade meeting with the demon's large wrist. Easily cutting through the data and send it flying in the opposite direction of it's previous owner. Viktor didn't relent, he used the momentum of the VenomMyotismon to grab him by the throat and slam him into the ground, then quickly shoving his blade into his mouth. The demon only spattered and choked as he began to fade. A dry, almost forced laugh escaped the demon's mouth. He reached up to Viktor with his only hand, but finally faded as his data streamed into the air.
Viktor slowly stood up, swiping his blade into the air then going back to his spot, as commanded. Thoughts ran through his head. How did the demon get in? Did he sneak past the guards? What of the venom in his data now? The questions would have to wait. The responding Protectors entered, their weapons and moves ready to be unleashed.
"Huh... I guess the Guardian took care of whatever that was. Are you injured?" One of the protectors looked to him.
Viktor didn't speak, he was not permitted by the Orb. He only stood his watch as they approached him; "Yeah, he's hurt. Boss?"
The apparent leader, a Justimon who sat with his arms crossed, looked over Viktor; "I agree. But we need to remain discreet. If we call in a big, well known doctor, then it'll raise questions about our ability to stop threats from getting in the city."
They all sat in silence, another Protector breaking it, "Know anyone, Boss?"
He nodded, looking over the Alphamon, "A Gatomon that is very talented in healing. She can easily heal this. We'll give her the full prognosis when she gets here."
They all nodded in agreement and walked out, each one give some form of acknowledgement to the Guardian who ended a threat that could have spelled the end of the Luminas as they knew it.

Honestly, the Empyrean Skies was well out of the way for Koneka, Ami, and Valeria. As niche as Koneka's profession was, it wasn't as if they were ever lacking for work: the Gatomon's healing hands were invaluable, and Ami and Valeria had proven themselves more than capable muscle in the past.
Still, some requests couldn't be turned down, such as a discrete-enough blimp landing right next to the cabin they had been staying at, to airlift them right up to the city. And it was clear enough that Ami and Valeria were just along for the ride: all three wore the green cross around their left arm, but the hurried details were only discussed with Koneka. And as the details evolved into an elongated discussion, the tamer and her bunny were pushed off to the side in more ways than one.
At the end, hearing that only the cat would go in, the two were glad to finally get some space: "Yeah, sounds 'bout right." Ami just gave a shrug, the rabbit taking to her shoulder. She waved to their medic:
"We'll be at the jeweler! Gotta touch up the pendant!"
"Alright then." And with a shrug, the sole field medic took to the elaborately decorated halls. Though the title 'Alphamon' meant little to a tamer or her partner Digimon, to Koneka, it was more-or-less a title of honor. And she was called as its medic! Honestly, that was enough to bring the nerves on edge.
She understood the wound: a poisonous strike on the front side, near the Alphamon's collar. He was stable - and in fact, being suspended in a healed state - but needed this poison handled eventually. With a medical kit in her side, she stepped into the marble room, seeing the Alphamon sitting on his throne.
The cat took a brief bow, then turned to the Knightmon who had escorted her. "Expose the affected area. Right now, we have time, but once I start, I'll have to keep up the pace." The Gatomon stepped forward, setting her bag off to the side, starting to set up her tools. "And if you want to keep your eyes on me like a hawk, fine, but not so close to my head. Don't want to get a concussion, here..."

Viktor's heart raced as he saw a familiar figure enter in the room, he knew they'd call a medic, and all evidence pointed that they'd call someone like Koneka. But he didn't think she would show up! He was always the quiet, stoic type of person, but the combination of not having any company for years and seeing someone he trusted with his life. Literally. On more than one occasion. He couldn't contain himself! But the Orb DID contain him. He was stuck, watching her as he was instructed.
He watched her with great intrigue, not just because he was instructed, but because he truly missed his friends. She pointed at his chest and looked to the Knightmon, one of the few that were charged with protecting the door, and failed. They would do anything to keep this underwraps;
"Right away, Alphamon. Can you please remove your breast plate? We need to examine you."
It was a solid minute before he moved, the Orb waiting to give permission to allow it's only protection to make himself vulnerable. But it understood what would happen if it didn't, it couldn't keep up the healing aura forever and it needed the Guardian to remain healthy. Viktor did as instructed, reaching up to his shoulder and undoing the breast plate. Revealing a smaller, yet solid form that was wrapped in a black body glove. He undid that as well, sitting exposed as he undid the pauldrons and cape. The sword placed in the ground next to the throne. He continued to watch her, his helmeted face remaining expressionless to those in the room. So much so, he didn't realize he was leaning his head closer to Koneka. He did so, looking down as she prepared her tools. He gazed to her, the same Ice blue, piercing eyes Viktor had would stare into her. If she noticed, she might see them familiar.
The Orb knew she recognized him, it fed off kind feelings, almost like a lifeblood. It waited to see what the cat and it's Guardian would do.
"You think you can do it, Doctor?"

The day-to-day duties got more mundane as time went on. Five years Genesis had been in service to the city, five years she was robbed of her form, her fighting and her thirst for adventure. Five years they've kept a tight leash on her.
Today, she was a jeweler. She had just completed the necessary qualifications to assume to role and was more than happy to do something other than serve a house, move heavy objects or just be someone's 'thing' to push around. The city of Luminas was elitists, and that showed more than ever to convicted criminals, even if they weren't convicted. She sighed as she wiped the glass one more time, looking at her reflection and shaking her head. She was forced into some sort of uniform to show conformity to the system. It was modest, but still embarrassing. But she accepted her life now, she knew there was no going back and there was nothing she could do to change her fate. The most she could do was make the best of a bad situation.
At least, she tried to.

The heck was with the bureaucracy around here? Was there a delay in listening to the doctor's orders?
Koneka held that thought in the back of her head, a little on-edge for how long it took for the Alphamon to remove his armor. It gave her more than enough time to set up the tools and set aside an array of small blades. There was no point to approaching, after all, until that under-armor was finally removed. And there, against the Digimon's strong frame, Koneka was finally able to survey the damage:
Near the top of the chest, the entire area was soaked in a dark purple color: holding the back of her hand against the affected area would feel a great amount of heat. This was definitely a potent poison, one that couldn't be removed with mere healing spells. No, this took the touch of a skilled physician. And thankfully, they got the right cat for the job.
"... Tch. Of course I can do it." The tools she had dragged in were already prepared: in addition to the scalpels and syringes, there was two clean buckets, one filled with water as well as several fresh sponges. The first thing she did, though, was take a scalpel, and approach the Alphamon's chest. At several places, across the wound, she made a slow and precise incision into the damaged flesh. Purplish data dripped out onto the ground and out of the wound, already making great work of the area. To those unfamiliar, it would look like a good old-fashioned bloodletting.
That was, until she reached for a sponge, and soaked it deeply in the bucket. The liquid, as it was, had a nitrate compound which made it very water soluble. The full, damp sponge was pressed against the wound, held in place, the white foam turning purple over several seconds. This poisonous mass was flicked and discarded into the other bucket, Koneka repeating this process several times...
... But as for Ami and Valeria, such stress wasn't anywhere close to the mind. No, the two were right in the heart of town, heading to the only familiar place to them. With the bell ringing at the open door, Genesis' boss gave a smile: "Ah, Valeria! How good it is to see you... the usual, then?"
"Mhm!" In a rare show, the rookie-level removed her pendant, and handed it off to the Angewomon, who swiftly took it right off to the back. Ami, in the meantime, peered over the glass. Everything here was so darn expensive, and with the occasional item marked 'cursed' or 'blessed', she'd dare not touch. As routine as it was, Genesis seemed more off in the background than anything else!

Viktor grit his teeth under the mask. The Orb, while it could take away his ability to brace for pain, didn't. It watched as closely as Viktor did. It knew the two knew eachother. Viktor turned his head with a very slight, hollow sounding grunt that reverberated through his helmet. She was doing something with a scalpel and sponge, tossing one, soaking up some purple fluid that spouted from his frame. He sighed as he looked down at her again, his eyes still full of life and begged for him to speak. But it was still not permitted. Not yet.
There was only the sounds of Koneka operating as Viktor breathed out, the discomfort of the injuries slowly fading he knew she was finishing up. Or at least close to. Or maybe she wasn't. He couldn't see her, thanks to the helmet, and even if he did; He'd probably only understand at a minimum level.
When she would finally catch her breath, a slight buzz would tingle the back of her skull, a voice would whisper;
Check behind the pillar. Remove the tarp over the statue.
Viktor sat and waited for Koneka to instruct him to put his armor back on. She was the expert, he was the patient. The Orb allowed him to listen to her very lightly. But still, he was connected to the Orb, he could feel it reach out to someone. He only assumed that someone was Koneka.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Genesis continued to wipe down the counter as she was instructed when the door opened. Another customer, another order, another thing to polish, bless or curse. It was all the same drove everyday. She didn't even bother looking up. That is until she heard a familiar voice.
A quick lift of her head revealed something she hadn't seen in years! It was Ami and her bunny! The bunny popped off her pendant and handed it to her boss, who collected it and flew it back to the workbench. Genesis hopped over the table and extended her arms, trying to hug the little Bunny with extreme force. She knew the bunny would probably fall over if she didn't move. Or she'd hit her. But Genesis didn't care. This was a reminder of her old life! Of Viktor!
"Ami! Valeria! Y-You're really here!"
She couldn't contain herself, after the assault of joy, Genesis would walk to Ami and take her hand, holding it tightly! That is, if she didn't pull away. She didn't think about anything else. Not her job, not her duty as the assistant jeweler. Only on the here and the now.

To be fair, the moment that Koneka would 'catch her breath' would be quite a bit later. After all, this wasn't some simple poison: even having too much of the liquid contact her nail could prove quite disastrous! Thus, her focus kept her right on task, proceeding for a solid twenty minutes. Eventually, the sickly purple color would be replaced with a drab reddish-gray, to which Koneka would apply her healing palms against.
Finally. She could get out of here, catch a nice paycheck, and meet up with Ami and Valeria to head right back down to Terminus. That would have been it, had there not been one noise at the back of her head. 'Check behind the pillar'.
... Could she? With how heavily guarded this place was, Koneka wasn't quite sure. Still, she thought up an excuse regardless: with an apparent careless flick of her tail, her ring would slip off, and simply roll past the pillar.
"Tch... my bad." The cat stepped back from the Alphamon, and nodded to a guard, pointing to the bucket. "Cursed venom. Stupidly valuable stuff; sell it off to Whitewater Medical. It'll more than pay my bill." And she stepped off, simply skipping by to collect the ring.
She wasn't going to 'remove' the tarp, but as she bent over, she pulled it the slightest bit to the side... enough to get a glance underneath.
Meanwhile, back on market street, foxes were pouncing bunnies! Or, that was the shock in Valeria's system as a familiar Renamon took it upon herself to hop over the counter and snag the Usagimon in her arms! She'd quickly be pushed right against Genesis' shoulder, Valeria pushing back against the collar! "Yes, yes, we're here! Not so tight!"
"Wait - Gen?!" It had been ages since she'd seen her last! Ami gave her own half-hug around the fox's back, a chuckle in her voice! "Well, what are you doing way out here? Never figured you were into all this gold-stuff!"

Viktor could still feel the Orb connect to Koneka. It was reaching out to her, telling her to do only he knew what. Tink. The sound of her tail ring hitting the ground and rolling behind the pillar. He was unsure what was kept back there, due to him not moving and never really be able to watch. But he knew his statue would be around here somewhere.
And that's exactly what Koneka would see when she peered under the tarp. The visage of a man she once called ally and friend. The statue was posed with his arms forward, a sword gripped tightly in front of it. The same pose each and every statue had around the room. She would hear; He's here. With you. almost like a faint whisper, spoken at a quickened pace.
Suddenly, a robed figured entered the room. He dismissed the guard who put up little protest. The figure, a Priest MagnaAngemon, was dangling the Orb's Thurible in front of him. This basically told all the members of the Holy Section of the Council that he was on business for the Orb itself. This Digimon was known as the Conveyor, he would allow the Orb to 'possess' him in a sense, letting the Orb properly communicate.
"Guardian. You're looking better. Armor is a little dinged up, I'll make sure our smiths take a look at it." He tapped the hulking digimon on the arm as he walked to the Orb. The sphere that contained the Orb began to come to a stop from it's constant spinning and a small interstice opened to breath some sort of blue aura engulfed the Priest. He lurched back as he grunted, then knelt down.
"Guardian." he said weakly, and held his arm out. Viktor just finished putting his armor back on as he moved with surprising speed for the his size, lifting him up. He took a step back as the Priest gathered himself, then smiled warmly.
"There you are, old friend. My, I have to say, I don't often get to see. I think you're a little bigger than my last Guardian all those years ago." he walked over and the Alphamon knelt down. Knowing exactly what he wanted.
The Priest checked the mark in the armor and pressed his own palm against, sensing the sensations the Alphamon was feeling.
"She did a great job."
He began walking to Koneka, ignoring any question that she might have asked about the statue;
"The bond between humans and digimon fascinate me greatly. Such a great stride in both species, unlocking power we never thought could exist. But only if the bond is pure. Only if the two trust one another." He held his hand out and Viktor's digivice escaped from the Orb's housing, it levitated to the Angel digimon and he gripped it, closing his eyes under his mask.
"Dim. But still there. Just as a human and digimon bond, this Alphamon and I share the same bond. But it will never be the same. I can sense great power in him, and in his digivice. I would be robbing this world of a great partnership if I denied you two..."
He walked to Koneka and placed the digivice in her paws, "Take the device. Restore his human form by pressing the device against the statue. Your partnership will be reunited."
Viktor mentally facepalmed. He truly had no-one else to blame for this but himself. He trusted Koneka to the extent that the Orb believed them to be partners. He tried to speak, but the Orb was blocking him. He could only watch.
"Yes... Koneka. This Alphamon... this is Viktor himself."
Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. No. No. No.
He could only watch as the events unfolded before him.
______________________________________________________________________________
Genesis' smile faded as quickly as she ran across the store to hug the bunny. Her throat tightened and the corners of her eyes began to swell. She fought it as best she could;
"I... uh... I'm not. I... it's a long story. Ever since I..." She gathered herself, "Viktor... I'm on my own now, Ami." she sniffed slightly, trying to fight the tears further. The same level of regret hit her again, she did a pretty good job of stuffing it down for years. But after seeing these two... seeing what they all went through... Ami had to know. Valeria too. They deserved to know the truth;
"Viktor's dead, Ami." she lowered her voice, "The council they... executed him. For crimes he didn't even commit," She could fight no longer, the tears began streaming down her fuzzy cheeks. She wiped them with her purple sleeve, the bandage she wore replaced when she lost Viktor. "He gave me this before they took him into the building."
Worn around her arm was a single band that was a mix of tightly woven cloth and metal. The engraving on the arm read, in Cyrillic; 'Friend. Keeper. Daughter.'
Genesis wiped her face again as she peered at the band one more time before she forced a smile, "it's great to see you, though."[/b]

"... What in the world..."
This... this couldn't be real, right? With that ring held in her palm and her padded fingers curled along the metal, Koneka found her eyes trapped on the statue. It was a stone visage of a comrade, one that she hadn't seen in a little over two years, from her own perspective! In a rare drop of her poise, taking a glance over to the guards, she gave a chance and tugged at the tarp, letting it fall off to the side. But just what was the meaning of this?
Fortunately, she wouldn't be left to wonder for long, as a rather important, white robed holy figure glided along into the room. There was a certain air about him, one that Koneka couldn't quite pin. He was the only one talking in the room, as if the guards were simply held in awe at his very presence. Could this Digimon be so important? The thoughts quickly flowed by, her heart already holding a conflicted emotion, seeing Viktor trapped here. The words the angel spun didn't do much to quell her thoughts, almost like holding a blender to her heart.
"... Viktor..." She sighed, just as the MagnaAngemon spoke of bonds between 'tamer and aato', the 'pure bond' between them. And in short order, Viktor's Digivice was thrust into her hand. She was told, just as if she was Viktor's Digimon, to simply press the device against the statue.
The Gatomon paused, holding the Digivice to her own chest. Tears built up in her eyes, streaming down as she closed them, a small smile on her face. "... You know not, but you toy with the darkest desires in my heart. And so casually, too. Its like a cold, steel hand is gripping over my own core right now."
She shook her head, and stepped back. "No, we're north-and-north, negative and negative. The torment this temptation would eventually bring would destroy us both in the end." She stowed the Digivice away in her glove. "But I'll be certain this gets to the right place."
"... O... oh... oh, Genesis..."
What could Ami really say? With Valeria still held in Genesis' (thankfully) lighter grip, they both had to hear the Renamon's story. And after so long, the truth simply fell out of her words: Viktor was dead, executed in this city which held the law above all else. Tears and bands aside, just as Genesis forced a smile, Ami's arms wrapped tight around the fox, in a hug.
There were tears in Ami's eyes, as well. This news... well. It wasn't comfortable for her to hear.

The MagnarAngemon tilted his head slightly, though more of trying to understand than simple confusion, "You two are not partners, then? Very fascinating... Find his partner. Bring them here and restore their bond. I will instruct the Conveyor to... distract the council long enough for you to track her down. He was an attendant during the trial, so he may know her fate."
The Priest seemed to be moving a little quicker than normal. The Orb's will moving the digimon with a purpose. Viktor breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't that he had anything against Koneka, but he agreed with her. They were too alike. They're partnership would be destructive in the most literal of senses. So the Deva told them, anyway. Viktor could only stare at Koneka in shame. He was trapped here, albeit of his own doing, but he still felt as though she should not see him like this. It wasn't natural.
Suddenly the MagnaAngemon dropped to his knees and coughed, breathing heavily as he stood up and rolled his neck; "The Orb has instructed me to stall the Council. They already don't like it when the Orb requires me to call a Coucil meeting so they'll take their time showing up out of spite. From there, I can distract a little more. You have about three hours..." he sighed and shrugged, it wasn't the most ideal time, but it was the best he could do given the circumstances.
"Hmm... if I'm not mistaken he a Renamon, no? Gen... Gentry... Genia... Genesis! That's it! Yes! She was attending a class on enchanting jewelry using hollow data. I am unsure of working hours, but I know she works in a shop just outside of the Concil Meeting House. Right outside the gates you came in."
He bowed and walked out, leaving Viktor alone with kineka, save the two honor guards who stood silently at the door. He couldn't speak, he could only stare at her with the same, ghostly blue ice eyes he shared in his human form. He wanted silently as she no doubt t would take her leave, and stood yet silent as he waited for the return of his partner.
_____________________________________________________
It hurt. Viktor was her everything. He raised her from birth, treated her as family, and gave his life to save hers. No matter how many years past she could never forget not just his person, but his idea. She broke. Digging her face into Ami's shoulder and sobbing. She couldn't hide it anymore. The sorrow grew too heavy. She tried to push Viktor in the back of her mind, tried to move on. They claim digimon have no concept of parenthood, but as far as she understood; Viktor was her Father. Now she was but an orphan, estranged by a circle of power hungry digimon who sought revenge, not justice. The worse part is there was nothing she could do.
"I miss him so much..." she said, crying into her still, "So... so much." she sniffed and hugged Ami a little tighter as she pulled away, no doubt it would be making a scene. As much as she didn't want to, she knew better. She had to be strong here and slipped up crying like that in public.

Well, thankfully this angel wasn't too persistent in the fact, and thank sovereign that there was no objection to her taking the Digivice! Really, it was just impossible for her to tell the mood here: between the angel bureaucracy and this pontificating speaker of fate, who seemed to drone on about the problems of said bureaucracy, Koneka finally managed to get one useful bit of information:
The jeweler. By chance, that was where Koneka would have gone next anyway. And thus the angel left, apparently to stall some Council for hours on end, leaving the Gatomon alone with the guards. Right, it didn't sound like she had time to waste - but three hours, really? If Koneka did this right, this would all be sorted in twenty or so minutes!
"... I'll be back, Vik..." He gave a bow towards the Alphamon, and swiftly stepped out of the room.
And boy, was the scene that Koneka walked in on quite the awkward one. Though Valeria had managed to wrench herself free, Ami and Genesis had their arms locked around each-other. The fox cried into Ami's shoulder, the tamer's own eyes streaming in turn. This couldn't be real, there was no way!
... There was no way, which was why Valeria stood off to the side, ears flat, shaking her head. And Koneka turned to the bunny, tilting her head, giving a whisper. "I miss something?"
"Vik's missing, holy city did something. Don't think he's dead... otherwise Gen kinda would be too? Probably?" Valeria whispered back, thankfully low enough to stay out of earshot of these two. Koneka quickly picked up on the tone, and bit her lip. In this tone, just how could she-
- Oh, wait, that would work. "Um... sorry, I don't mean to interrupt, but..." Koneka turned to face Genesis. "The holy city finally managed to stop dragging its foot. There's some personal effects that were entrusted to you, and I've been asked to escort you. Might not be much, but better to just get it out of the way."
Lying right through her teeth! Scary cat...

What exactly was Koneka on about? Genesis was receptive, but this was something else. Genesis just saw someone who brought back happy memories and now she was asked... no instructed to follow her back to the place where she'd lost Viktor. What sort of cruel game was she playing?
"Personal effects? They already took everything I have. Now they want to give me something? I know this council," she said through a sniff and a blink, They're hiding something. Or... you're not telling me everything."
Genesis never truly trusted Koneka in the way Viktor did. Something in that cave changed him, made him more like... her. Maybe it was just jealousy, but she could feel it. She had done something, though she never ventured a guess as to what. Probably something with his arm, given he'd cut it off that day.
"Koneka... what aren't you telling me?"
She couldn't be angry at Genesis, nobody really could for be so cynical about this. This council killed her partner, strip her of her power and bond with him and bound her to the city. Now she was asked to go back to the very place she never wanted to return. She was unable to leave the city, due to her dependent data, but even the furthest corner of the city wasn't far enough away from that Tower... But the more she thought, the more she was starting to ease into the idea. She still wouldn't move without clarification, though.

Well, no luck on that front, it seemed! Even Ami arched an eyebrow at Koneka's sudden tone: could it really be all that convenient? "And what about what you were called here for? The need for a medic?"
"That? Honestly, so simple it could make me sleep, that was just a free paycheck." For that much, the Gatomon had a bit of a different tone for, even giving Genesis contrast against what she said earlier. That said, much like Viktor, Koneka didn't want to waste time in these semantics. Arguing here when the council could decide to rear its head at any moment just wasn't going to suit this that well.
So, she figured, might as well go all-in! "It's because no matter what I say, you won't believe me. Just trust that this isn't something that can be so easily ignored." With that, the Gatomon reached into her glove, and pulled out the Digivice, showing it briefly to the fox before tossing it over to her. "There's your 'personal effect', by the way."
"Wait a minute... are you serious?" Valeria's voice perked up.
"That's... that's Viktor's, right?"
"Well, that's how it is." The Gatomon gave a nod. "For now, just come along. Gen. At the very least, you should know I'd never try and do something like this without a good reason."

This was getting too odd. Koneka had something that she recognized instantly, but had to double take because she hadn't seen it in so long. Without a second thought, Koneka tossed it to her. Genesis reached out, she could feel herself connect with it before it even landed in her paw.
She didn't know what to say. She felt sort of ashamed that she was willing to accuse Koneka of something only to find she was being fully altruistic. At least from where she could see.
She would try to apologize, "I... Koneka... I thought... the council..." she was at a loss of words. She didn't want to admit she was wrong, but she was glad she was.
Viktor was alive. The same feeling she got when he was with her returned, and she could feel the power, however dim, course within the confines of the electrical tool. She held it close to her chest and sighed,
"O-Okay... lets go, Koneka. Where is he? Do they have him imprisoned? Is he hurt? They better have not hurt him. Where is it exactly?"
She didn't mean to fire off question after question, but she was beside herself. For years she thought her partner dead, and for the first time in forever, she was happy. She just hoped this happiness wasn't false, and she'd actually see Viktor again.
"What about Ami and Valeria?"
She wouldn't stop following the cat, but it would definitely warrant a slow in their pace. Ultimately, the decision was hers.

The Priest was mostly surprised about how quickly most of the council arrived. The ones he thought would be the last to show were the first to sit in their seats. They tried to move the meeting along;
"Conveyor. Get on with it. We have a great many matters to attend to."
This was not uncommon. The council loved to hide behind their guise of bureaucracy and schedules. But he always stood fast;
"I am sorry, Councilor, but until the entirety of the council arrives, I cannot discuss the matter relayed to me."
He only harrumphed and sat back further in his chair. The others trickled in one by one but the council was not whole yet. He feared it would be much sooner than expected and hoped Koneka would move at a slightly quicker pace than previously discussed. Otherwise, this was going to get hairy.

Distrust was to be expected, even if Koneka wished that Genesis simply went along with it! Still, Genesis' tone seemed to shift, with the Digivice firmly in her hands. That said, Koneka would now take a decidedly simpler approach:
"It's a main hall, behind a pillar. You'll simply press your Digivice against his statue, and things'll work out one way or another. As for Ami and Valeria-"
"Eheh... sorry!" The bunny scratched behind her head, giving a nervous chuckle! "Without my pendant I can't even Digivolve, and I'm not just going to take it mid-repair..."
"That said," Ami reached around her arm, pulling down that white-cloth cuff. With just a quick shift, she'd slip it right over Genesis' arm, so that it matched Koneka. "That should make it a bit easier, at least."
"Mhm. And just put the Digivice up your glove. Other than that..."
Koneka would lead the Renamon out.
And, just a few seconds later, give a slight swear under her breath. There was already commotion at the front gate, as the members of the Council decided that now was a good time to settle in. She grit her teeth, and sighed, adjusting her band slightly so that the cross was prominently displayed.
"Alright, Renamon, this way." Her voice was firm, not exactly hidden, as she would run towards the entrance of the building. Despite everything here, Koneka was fairly confident in this move, whispering the last bit: "Don't stop, even if they want to ask you a question."
After all, what kind of guard or person would stop an emergency response Digimon from getting to their patient?

Things were moving at a lot quicker of a pace now! Genesis has stripped off her uniform and followed Koneka closely behind. They now shared the same arm band that represented them as a Medical team. Though green wasn't the color she'd seen before, they didn't it question it. Not at first...
"Stop," The Sentry digimon challenged,"The council is holding a meeting. Authorized personnel only."[/b]
Genesis flashed her arm band, she hoped Koneka did too. It didn't work, the guard not only didn't budge, but the others who managed the crowd of support staff began to grow closer. They were wary of trespassers after that Impmon almost took the Orb for himself. Everyone was questioned now, per orders of the Security Branch of the Council.
Genesis had seen this enough to know how to get around it; "Look, we're responding to an actual emergency. We were called. We need to go in. Time is of the essence."
She had seen Viktor do this once in a facility guarded by third rare para-military. They bought it. These guys reminded her more of those who were much better trained.
"I didn't hear anything called. We weren't informed and if we weren't then you weren't. Step over here and we'll confirm."
"We don't have time for this! Lives are on the line. I-"
Suddenly, a Justimon was standing behind the guards. He examined them, then smiled under his helmet; "Let them go. I called the emergency."
The guards looked at him, then each other. While they were hired help, this Digimon was a protector. His sole job was to protect the Orb and had the final say when it came to matters of anything inside the Complex.
They stepped aside and let them in, the Justimon signaling them.
"Priest called me when the council got here earlier than expected. He said to watch for you. I can get you to the door, but inside... well the Orb is blind in his housing. The Guardian might attack you. Given what happened yesterday, even knowing you're coming, he can't let up."
Genesis nodded. Whoever this Guardian was, he wouldn't get in the way of her seeing Viktor again. She looked to Koneka as they entered the building and began walking to the hall;
"Should I be worried about this 'Guardian'?"
She asked, unknowing of the current circumstances. Koneka apparently healed him, so he shouldn't attack her. She was curious where Viktor was, though. To her knowledge, the Complex housed no prisons.
Things continued to grow curiouser and curiouser.
