Fortunately, Maia wouldn't have to spend too much time trying to figure out what Kuu meant. A few beeps called back from Gizumon's little hideaway, the poor mechanical spider sounding quite exhausted for some strange reason. The cause behind that made itself apparent quite quickly; Gizumon was practically running in place, occasionally making a bit of traction on the icy floor. Strapped to its back was another one of the gel tanks, its semi-solid surface wiggling like it was stuck in a wind tunnel. It was probably going to take the poor spider ten minutes at this rate to finally get back over to Maia, even though it was worriedly waving a crablike leg at her to try and get her attention.
By the time Gizumon made it over to Maia, it was too busy panting desperately to actually say anything. It raised a claw, as if asking her to give it a second to speak, before straightening itself back up and proudly gesturing to the gel tank. It clapped its claws together, and the green cube of gel melted away to reveal what was hidden inside.
It was an orange.
Okay, so it wasn't just any orange. It was wearing shades, and it had a beard and angry eyebrows doodled on it in permanent marker. But it was very clearly just an ordinary orange besides that fact. Nevertheless, Gizumon was treating it as if it was a revelation in his hands. He promptly began wiggling the orange at Maia, making grumpy sounding huffs and growls in her direction. It was hard to properly capture Citramon's rambling when all you had was the word "Gizu" at your disposal, but Gizumon was sure doing his best!
Then he projected his eye beam at the wall, displaying footage of a very familiar looking Porcupamon. It windmilled its arms furiously at the orange, which Gizumon very helpfully started having make small, pitiful "oh no!" noises. Then Gizumon jammed the orange right into its shell, flapping it back and forth as if eating it.
Its little show finished, Gizumon promptly took a bow. Maia had to remember that, right?

Now, if only that poor Gizumon could talk! Kuu was so busy tilting his head from side-to-side while watching the mechanical spider scramble on ice that it never crossed his mind to go float over and help push him across the room! Oops! Ah well, maybe next time! But, probably not. Kuu wasn't that great at thinking about being considerate! Plus, he was still pretty concerned over his partner!
Once the purple Digimon made his way over, Maia gave a nod to the 'one minute' motion. At least she could understand that! But, once the display was presented, she scrunched her nose in confusion. Half of her wanted to laugh at the strange object -- then even moreso at the sound effects that came along with the presentation -- but she managed to control herself. This probably wasn't supposed to be funny. But, it kind of was!
Still, once Porcupamon was on the screen, she found herself staring at the creature. Squinting for a moment, it felt like it would almost click into place any second now. For some reason, it was making her think of her sketchpad. Despite the idea that her own art might help jog memories, she opted to stare at the presentation.
All the while, Kuu began to rapidly shake his head, akin to a dog with something in its ear. Images overlayed in his mind, as if two different perspectives of Citramon were playing simultaneously in his head. And, that's exactly what they were doing. One, Kuu's perspective. The other? Even the dizzied fox could identify. Maia's.
"Make the world stop, it's going too fast," the fox whined, slowly leaning his head back. "I'm gonna get carsick!"
Pulling her focus from Gizumon's 'tale', Maia looked to her partner. "You can't get carsick. We're not in a car." Then, a pause. "You don't even get carsick."
"Can I get world-sick, instead?" the rookie groaned, squinting as if it would somehow help the migraine that placed itself between his eyes. "I don't think you're gonna remember that stuff, Mai," he admitted, still whining. Would Gizufriend be able to fix the situation? Or, really, understand it? Kuu had to admit, he didn't even really understand what was happening!
Reaching out, the tamer scooped the Kudamon into her lap, hoping he wouldn't actually get sick. As far as she could remember, Kuu had never actually thrown up, so all should be good! Hopefully. "I kind of do. I mean-- I know I drew that one."
But, she didn't remember the actual encounter, did she?
"I dunno how to explain it,"[/color] the nauseated fox tried to continue, "but I think I remember what you saw?" That successfully made the tamer silent again. Partially in surprise. Partially just trying to understand what had been said. That wasn't really possible, right?
Instead, when the tamer found a point to speak, she looked to Gizumon. "What happened to that Digimon, anyway?"
She definitely didn't remember.

Gizumon let out a slight whine as Maia asked what had happened to the Porcupamon that previously infested these halls. It shook its tiny body, the holographic Citramon shaking all the while as it did so, clearly unwilling to show the footage at a first glance. However, it didn't want its new friends to already be upset with it. Sighing in resignation, it scuttled over to Maia and Kuu and began projecting new footage through its eye. camera
Unlike its previous display, which was mostly cobbled together from hastily made improvisation and a literal orange, this was more like found footage from someone's camera. It was from a rather unorthodox angle, viewed from Gizumon's perch on the topmost corner of the ceiling. For a while it showed only an empty room, the cold storage area before it had completely frozen over. This was all the way back from the aftermath of Maia, Elliot, and Kuu's first run-in with the Porcupamon, where quick thinking on their parts lead to it being trapped behind a locked door.
With a few heavy bashes, that had changed. The metal door Porcupamon had been trapped within was smashed right off of its hinges, the legless Digimon crawling out and panting heavily. Its legs seemed to be fused to its hips by red thread, which slowly pulled the legs closer to its body. As one end of its hips reattached to the legs it started to pry itself off of the floor and limp. As the other reattached itself, it started to walk anew. Porcupamon may had been defeated earlier, but clearly it was merely down instead of out.
After walking around the room to test its new legs, it made its way to the elevator platform. A heavy clawed paw smashed into the button, and soon Porcupamon was descending.
The next footage, rather than single extended glimpses like this, were instead a series of shaky jump-cuts. They were all glimpses of Porcupamon stalking down the hallway, menacing whatever Digimon it encountered. Some seemed to be explorers, a Gekkomon with a torch being snatched away by a paw that shot from around the corner. Some seemed to be other experiments like the Citramon, a Suaksimon waving towards Porcupamon and happily whirling towards it. There were even a few Dark Area natives, a DemiDevimon and an Impmon excitedly talking among themselves and not even noticing the Porcupamon looming behind it. There were at least nine or ten of these shots, the camera scrambling away from the Porcupamon after each encounter as if terrified it'd be next.
In each shot, the Porcupamon was just a bit bigger than the last.
Finally, the last bit of footage was another long shot. It showed Porcupamon, now so tall that its ears brushed against the hallway, as it walked down one of the mazelike halls of the facility. Then, in the midst of walking, it seemed to stop in its tracks. Something bulged within it, as if part of Porcupamon was stopped and another part was continuing to march steadily onwards. Each time it bulged out it pounded forward a little bit more harshly than the last time, until soon Porcupamon's felt body ripped cleanly in half.
Striding out from the ruins of its previous form was none other than SkullMammothmon X. It strode confidently through the halls as its previous body fell to tatters behind it.
Gizumon slumped over sadly as the footage came to an end, letting out a few mournful beeps.

With as many confusions as the day had brough, Maia remained silent while Gizumon showed a new video. One with the fate of Porcupamon. Except, was it truly the fate? It seemed that as the images progressed, it became more clear that the duo had actually been the cause of Porcupamon's end. Unless the creature had somehow survived its fall into the depths of this lab. A place Maia was far from interested in visiting any time soon.
But, why did the Gizumon seem sad about this? Or, was it just being dramatic?
Kuu had to find out! "Why are you so mopey looking, Gizufriend?" The pipefox tilted his head, feeling the headache fade away. "Mean Mr. Boss is gone! Hopefully. He's not gonna eat you now!" Oh, come on, Kuu. Don't tell someone that they could have been eaten by that thing! Or by anything, for that matter! It's not very encouraging!
But, while Kuu found a time for 'encouragement' or whatever he was attempting, it seemed that Mai found it a better time to get ready to leave. Rising to her feet -- albeit a bit shakily -- the teen brushed off her knees. With Kuu having been on her lap, she adjusted her hands to hold him properly once there were no longer legs where he would have been sitting. Instead, he was curled in the palms of her hands, staring down to Gizufriend.
"We probably shouldn't stay here much longer, anyway," Maia stated, after a moment.
"What 'bout whatever you came here for?"
Giving a shrug, the blonde didn't answer. It wasn't like Kuu really understood why they were there, anyway. Even after sharing a mind with the tamer!
"What if there's stuff to help Isaac here, though? Didn't you wanna see?"
After another moment of silence, the tamer finally answered. "I get this feeling that there isn't anything down here." Granted, she hadn't searched even a fraction of the building. Maybe, she was just tired at this point. Could anyone really blame her?
After a bit of time had passed, farewells were said to Gizufriend. It was a bit of a heavy goodbye. For some reason, the duo had a strong feeling they would never see the beepy Digimon again. An acquaintance they'd made since... almost the beginning of their journey! And, with this milestone? It would be the end of it! Not in their hearts, or something sappy like that. But realistically, they knew. Gizu would probably continue to live here. And Mai intended to make it a point that she would never come back.
Giving the purple Digimon a pat, the blonde stood up, drawing Kuu to her shoulder. They'd killed someone. Something? A living being. Not just Kuu as an extension to Mai's words. But, Maia herself had done it. Was there a loss of innocence in that?
Perhaps.
With the haunting monster gone, it was time to close the door on this chapter, that had gone on far too long. Navigating any remaining ice patches, the blonde made her way to the exit that had been carved by Kouhei long ago. The optimism of his well-being vanished. Just like his name in her memory. Who... was he again? She tapped her finger to her lips for a moment.
For some reason, this trip had made her forget some things.
At least she still remembered the actual reason she'd actually come here. A reminder of their progress. And, more importantly?
Closure.
