The first place Kotemon wanted his boy to see was server woods, one of the first locations he'd visited in the digital world. Duffer sat in a wheelchair while Kotemon pushed. The boy was mostly better, but was still making mistakes in basic english and had difficulty moving his body. The doctors, however, said this was miraculous in its own right, but that's besides the point.
"I don't get it, Kotemon." Duffer said, looking around at the tall trees. "Why would take me here? You know I hate the woods, there's usually serial killers or witches hiding around, placing piles of rocks as grave markers, slicing up couples while they children." "'Why would you take me here' and 'while they watch children'." Kotemon corrected. "And the reason we're here is because we are going to be staying in the digital world until I get the human world situated. As such, I want to be sure you're familiar with every area." The digimon let go of the boy's wheelchair and pointed to the trees with its wooden blade. "These are meat trees. In the digital world, meat is harvested from fish or trees, depending on where you live." "That makes sense." Duffer remarked, sarcastically. "And plants probably come from animals here too." "That doesn't make sense." Kotemon corrected, missing the boy's sarcasm. "And yes, actually. Certain digimon such as Veggimon, Palmon, and Tanemon can produce edible materials from their body. But this isn't what you care about, is it?" The mon asked, annoyed. "Not really, no, food's food. If it tastes good it can come from the bottom level of Hades for all I care." The boy responded.
"Then let me move on to something you will care about: Ghosts." The mon's tone shifted into a far darker one, and it stared Duffer in his eyes with it's piercing red glowing orbs. The boy gulped. "A long time ago, an impmon died in these woods. Unlike other digimon, who simply return as eggs or get their data absorbed, something happened. Somehow, only some of his data was taken. The part with his personality, his heart, his soul. He wanders this woods now, looking to take the souls of weary travelers so he can finally be complete again. I could tell you the whole story, but that means I'd have to tell you about some history as well." "Do tell...?" The boy said, worried, interested, and suspicious all at once. "It sounds like something you made up, but I'm willing humor you." "Willing to humor you." Kotemon said, smiling under her helmet. That's how he'd teach this boy; lure him in with something he wants.

Katsura was walking through the forest again, in her arms she was carrying Nyao the Blackgatomon. After spending nearly a year in the digital world Katsura has grown quite accustomed to the Sever Woods. Along the way Katsura noticed something peculiar: A boy was dragged around in a wheelchair. "Huh, weird."
Not having anything better to do with her time, Katsura started following after Duffer, from the shadows of the bushes Duffer could see Katsura staring at them with her regular emotionless facial expression. Surprisingly, she'd be able to keep up with them if things continued like this.

"The story starts long ago." Kotemon begins. "Like the human world, the Digital World has its own wars. Good vs Evil, Beast versus human, gods versus mortals, everything and anything you can think of, the Digital World has had a war over it. While in the human world War stimulates the economy, leads to technology development (and us, in a roundabout way, I suppose), leads to some cultural and political events, here in the Digital World we don't really have most of those things to worry about. Some of us are born robots, it's not like we need better technology, really, although we still don't know much about human medicine other than the basics. You guys have artificial hearts and machines that freeze humans... but I digress." The mon takes a deep breath.
"In one of the Digital World's dozens of wars there was a few battles that took place in these woods. Before there were humans there were beast type digimon and human-type digimon. These two resented each-other, despised one-another, even moreso than the Virus, Vaccine, and Data before and the evil, good, and neutral digimon do now (although, that's debatable, we certainly left beast-type digimon more space than we did the Evil Digimon, but again, I digress). The beast-human wars took place between the two clans for decades, years longer than the wars before then. So long, the clans began having children. A battlefield is no place for kids, so the two groups began looking for a third party to take care of them. This third party came in the form of an Impmon. Stereotyped as mischievous and carefree, this impmon had a silver tongue and was able to convince the human-types that he was willing to keep their children safe in the woods, as long as they didn't let the beast types see him and would send him two thousand bits a week. They agreed, and soon the impmon had more digieggs and babies than he could deal with, but so long as the human-types kept paying him, he'd keep the kids in the woods."
"Not the best caretaker, admittedly, he was still far better than letting the children see their friends and family die. Soon though, the impmon got greedy. He approached the beast-type digimon with the same offer, with the same clauses. They agreed as well, and the clever impmon seemed to be set for life. That was until the two parties began taking one-another's cities. Suspicions arose with the lack of families, even during wars digimon would follow their base instincts after all. A group of human type spies were sent into the woods to find where Impmon kept their children, and found the Impmon making his weekly deal with the beast-types. Furious at the traitor, a squad was sent to deal with him and take the children back."
Duffer frowned, feeling exactly where this story was going. "And you swear this isn't made up to teach me about those wars?" He asked again. "Scout's Honor." "You weren't a scout! I wasn't even a scout, where'd you hear about that?" "I read some of your comics while you were down for the count." "Hey! I didn't give you that permission!" "You didn't not."

Katsura kept stalking the boy in the wheelchair, along the way she heard a story about a dead impmon. Katsura didn't knew what to make of it She felt it dragged on for a bit, something about a war more "dark digimon are evil". The only thing Katsura really felt interesting was that impmon, maybe one day she'd get to meet one of those supposed mischievous digimon?
Since they obviously didn't pay much attention to her anyway, Katsura felt fine just going behind them staring with her big red eyes.

"What I don't need to tell you is that the Impmon was punished. He was about to be executed when a second group of spies, from the Beast side, sprung a surprise attack. They were planning on taking all of the children for ransom, and to punish the impmon themselves. A terrible battle broke out, destroying the Impmon's home and most of these woods, several children were caught in the cross-fire, despite the tiny devil's protests. Unfortunately, the Impmon found himself near the bottom of a pile of digital data, having tried to hide in a pile of wounded digimon to sneak out later. The victors, the human-likes, took as much of the data as possible, making themselves stronger and smarter than before. By doing this, one of them had found the impmon's data, the impmon having barely clung to life no thanks to the flying weapons. From the bottom of the pile of corpses it had no power to hold onto its digisoul, which was violently torn from its assumed-dead body. The war would return to the woods several times after that, but every time it would be a loss for both sides, no soldiers returning. The story was told by the digimon who witnessed the battle, and many point to the impmon who should have died that day."
Duffer saw the bright red eyes that approached Kotemon from behind, sweating bullets as the pale white face crawled out of the bushes, shaking violently the closer it got. "But, that's just a story." Kotemon said, believing its tale had done its job. "W-what do impmons look like again?" Duffer asked, the taller pair of red eyes worrying him. "Well, usually they've got white faces, a pair of tiny fangs, and red eyes." Duffer began reaching for his bat from his pack, his weak and frail body barely managing to even open it.

Katsura listened in on the story about the impmon that was apparently dead, surprisingly this story did not trigger an expression on her. Katsura just kept walking and staring while she carried Nyao. It was a story Katsura had never heard and a lot of weird things had happened since Katsura became a tamer, so a ghost won't be too far fetched though Nyao was sure that, unless they were absorbed then digimon always came back again through reincarnation. Therefore the idea of a ghost digimon sounded rather absurd to her.
It was then that Duffer turned to face Katsura and he seemed to try taking out a bat to hit Katsura with. Katsura kept staring, she had seen too much of the digital world to be frightened by a crippled guy in a wheelchair trying to grab a weapon. Nyao on the other hand followed the boy and especially the bat with a cold expectant glare. Nyao was prepared to retaliate if Duffer was to try anything but for now Nyao waited to see if Duffer would actually proceed.

Duffer tried to take the bat out but it fell to the ground, Kotemon rolling its eyes as the boy tried to grasp at it. "Duffer, it's just a story, there isn't an actual impmon ghost. Just like there isn't a Blair Witch, a Dracula, or a well, actually... there are mummymons, frankenmons, and weregururumons, but they don't work like they do in your comics." Kotemon paused to think. He was sure they didn't anyways, fairly sure if you got bit by a weregururumon you wouldn't turn into a gururumon... More research may be needed. Duffer grabbed the bat and swung. Kotemon had moved slightly to the right though, and the mon's large helmet caught the bat. A loud gonging noise sounded as Kotemon shook and vibrated, Duffer's bat cracking from disuse and suddenly hitting such a hard object. Kotemon fell to the floor and the bat fell to the ground. "...Please don't hurt me." He said, trying to move his wheelchair away from the spooky girl.

Duffer was simply too pitiful for Nyao to consider him a threat, he made Katsura think about Alice. A little scared girl at the age of 8 who happen to be Timothy's sister. Really right now as he was more or less shaking in his legs that little girl was all Katsura could think of. It was telling when Nyao didn't bother to use her relatively large arsenal of abilities to fight but just rolled her eyes. That's when Katsura watched Duffer trying to get away from her, Katsura mostly just stood there while carrying Nyao.
"That kid will die soon" Katsura said. She contemplated following after them just to be there when something truly wants Duffy's blood. "Huh, you're okay with that?" Katsura raised her shoulders in a shrug. "Not really, I guess we have to look after him"
Katsura made a sigh, as Duffer was trying to get away Katsura was always right behind them within some tens of feet distance. There she walked with her regular dead eyes devoid of emotions. Katsura wanted to speak with him but she couldn't come up with any polite way to start. As she walked Katsura accidently stepped on a bunch of twigs revealing her current stalking tendencies. How long could Katsura keep this up before Duffer either proven Katsura right or was to creeped out to ignore her?

Duffer rolled his wheelchair away, adrenaline helping him a little bit in his attempted escape. He rushed as fast as his crippled body could, looking behind him to see the creepy girl and her black cat still following. While he looked behind him he failed to notice a large branch he was hurtling towards. The back of his head connected and he fell backwards, the wheelchair falling backwards and getting stuck on the ground. Duffer struggled to get out, but, alas, his body was too atrophied to do anything but squirm. "Ow..." He moaned, rubbing his head.
Kotemon stood up, its helmet (and as a result, head) on backwards thanks to Duffer's panicked swing. "OK, Duffer... I am giving you five seconds to explain yourself before I strangle you and throw you down a well." Kotemon said, beyond mad, unaware the others had left. "One..." It began, stumbling around the forest, not quite used to this view of the world. "Two..." she continued, not appreciating the irony of the situation he was in. It moved around, bumping into a tree before standing back up again. "Three..." The air suddenly got a lot colder where he was. "Four!" He said, now angrier than she'd ever felt previously and feeling something grab him by the arm. Kotemon did not get to 5.

"I heard that!" What was that? It almost sounded as someone that was clearly Alice basically read Kat's mind and even responded. Though for obvious reasons, she wasn't. She was currently following Leo through the woods, which was a mistake in it's own right to begin with. Though for some reason, she felt compelled to follow the adventure crazed Spadamon.
"You heard nothing! Come on, we're on our way still." He had no clue where he was actually going, he was just going places and mumbling about Alice's fears of dying 'n stuff.
Alice let out a sigh, then stopped at a tree to rest a moment, "Then let's at least take a breather before something tries to kill me so I have the energy to run away."
"Ugh, fiiiine. But only for a few minutes."
She couldn't wait to shut him up one day, he just wouldn't stop for anything...

Katsura shock her head at this miserable display of a teen rolling away in a wheelchair only to fall off by the hit of a large branch. She didn't quite get that this was to a large extent her fault, nevertheless Katsura stood before him looking. Then... She reached out trying to pull him up and back in the wheelchair. This was exactly what she expected would happen to a guy in a wheelchair. "Would you like to go back to the human world?" Katsura asked. For a veteran like Duffer, it might be worth pointing out that Katsura did not call it the "real world". "I heard that!" Katsura stopped making any sound except: "Is someone there?"
Katsura then shrugged over realizing that the voice actually belonged to Alice. "Oh it's you, Alice. Do Timothy know you're here?"

Duffer held his head, cringing as he tried to recollect himself to what she'd said. Human world? ...She wasn't trying to kill him? "What?" He asked, properly confused. He carefully took her hand and let her help him up. He hadn't walked in a long, long time, so she was doing most of the heavy lifting it would seem.
"The human world... I haven't been there in two years..." He mumbled, realizing how much time had gone by again. "I mean, yeah but... Kotemon would probably want to come too. My name's Duffer, for the record." He said, not realizing what Kotemon REALLY wanted. "I-I'm glad you're a friendly ghost, at least." He smiled and laughed, "O-or maybe you're a vampire? A witch, perhaps?" He looked the pale white woman over with great curiosity until Alice interrupted. He turned to look at the new girl, confused. People were cropping out of the woodwork, it was like Cube 2:Hypercube all over again, which meant- "Oh crap, where's Kotemon?" He tried to get back to his wheelchair.

Alice looked up to see Katsura, which made her jump in surprise, "Waaah! Wha- Oh... It's you Katsura..." There was a sigh of relief, though why did Kat look kinda ghostly... Huh, oh well. That was really weird though...
Leo looked to Katsura and pointed his blade at her in a panic, "Jesmon Christ Mode, it's a ghost! Let's slay it!" He was about to start running when Alice, finally sick of his crap, dived into Leo, tackling him to the ground, "Leo, it's just my brothers girlfriend Katsura! It's nothing to want to kill!"
After Leo finally calms down, ALice looked back at Kat, and shook her head, "Since when does Timothy know where I am? I never let him know things."
She looked at the wheelchair bound kid, he seemed to be freaking out. "What's a... Kot-eh-mon?" She'd never heard of it. She didn't pull a Timothy and do craploads of research on what to expect!

It appeared that once again Katsura had to resort to her friendly front, so with Alice there Katsura turned 180° by being happy and cheerful. But not before making a sigh over Alice keeping her travel to the digital world a secret. Alice has proven herself rather... Unlucky and easily frightened.
Katsura ignored the questions about what kind of supernatural she was, to her this was just another way for her to feel less normal and human. She lifted her her shoulders in a shrug and said. "Well some call Nyao a bakeneko though I have yet to see her dance around with a towel on her head. Anyway I can make a portal for you, if you like?" It came at a genuine surprise to Katsura that even Alice consider her Timothy's girl, it made Katsura blush a bit to be addressed at such, curiously she couldn't come up with a counterpoint to the claim.

"I don't know what a bakeneko is." Duffer said bluntly, taking out one of his comic books and trying to consult it. He fell into his wheelchair as he did this, skimming over several tales and legends in search of this creature. "And Kotemon is my partner, it's uh... he... she... i dunno what it is, actually, but it looks like some fencing gear that's being worn by a toddler-sized dragon." He took out his digivice and tried to get it to work, clearly struggling. "Stupid coma, making me forget... things, like words and..." He shook the device, trying to figure out if there was a homing feature on it. Unfortunately for him, he could only figure out how to turn on the radio, the japanese version of "The Pina Calada Song" mocking him.
"And I'd love to go back to the human world Miss Kat." He said, picking up on her name thanks to Alice. "But I'd rather not let Kotemon end up with the Blair Witch out here."
