"I mean, some food would be pretty nice for everyone. Think there's any meat farms in here?" Coolmon inquired.
She observed the interactions between the two. Seemed like partners, alright. Well, that's nice. And they aren't cursing as much! Also nice.
"Okay those words are cooler." She decided. Arbitrarily. But still a decision. "...I think I know a way out but not a way back to your world. Maybe she might know more." She referred to Katsura. "...GOOD GRIEF AM I HUNGRY." Another arbitrary decision.
...Another thought crossed her mind. She looked towards Rinji. "...Okay, I'm not trying to incite paranoia or anything...But what should we do if...like...something bad pops outta the bushes? Just grab everyone and run...? Defend? Uhm...I've never really dealt with humans for more than a train ride."

It helped Katsura ease up to see how this bond between Haley and Punimon was being made. The whole conversation about using swear words was cute enough for her to make a tiny smile at them, and for a sassy cat to comment. "Maybe I could teach them some better swear words!" "Nyao don't ruin the moment for me, please." Katsura found a horribly cruel way to punish Nyao, she (gasp) rubbed Nyao's fur roughly for half a minute causing Nyao to purr, totally in agony! It was then that Katsura caught herself in the middle of a discussion about giving Punimon food, she joined in right after the cutelmon. "That won't be necessary, Nyao can you jump off for a second?" Nyao complied and with both her hands free, Katsura could reach her bento filled with homemade rice-balls, which she handed Haley, expecting her to do the first feeding.
She then heard Haley asking for a way out, when spoken to by the cutemon she answered. "If you walk enough to the west you'll eventually reach the city of Terminus, from there you can just take the train to the human world. I could also create a portal for you if you're in a hurry, though time in the digital world runs much faster compared to the human world."
Nyao then heard cutemon descend into paranoia, worrying that something would come out of the bushes. " Don't worry, no one hurts Katsura on my watch."

"I know there's a meat farm about half an hour from here," Rinji admitted in response to Coolmon's question. It was mostly local knowledge. "This place is pretty remote," he added, upon realising that thirty minutes was a pretty long time for most people to want to walk. It wouldn't make for a very good detour, considering their current situation, either.
Thankfully Katsura, as strange as she was, had some strange-looking food on her and had given it to Haley. At least they were now safe on that front. It was always a good precaution to take.
"The rest of us still need to run if someone attacks us though," he replied in response to Nyao's confident but encouraging remark. At least they had a fighter among them, nothing less could be expected of a tamer's digimon, really. "Uh, I'm sure we'll be okay though! I can fight too if I really have to. And a big group like us would probably scare most digimon off anyway." He added, realising that he might just be worsening Coolmon's worries. There was no reason to be pessimistic, after all.
And then he remembered Coolmon's remark from earlier. "Coolmon, you're hungry?" He questioned. Rinji now wished he had some of his own food to share with Coolmon. "Oh, I know there's an orchard on the way to the train station!" He quickly pipped in when Katsura mentioned taking the Terminal back to the human world. "We could all go there together. It would be safer."

Haley thought about what the others were saying. Talks of food, talks of some sort of "meat farm", orchards and what to do if somewhere were to come out of the bushes. Normally, the girl might have an answer for that, but it was clear that the group weren't exactly in Kansas anymore here. Or even Earth. "What we do's gonna change depending on what comes out at us. Sure as shiiii..... Sure as anything I'd be a lot more comfortable if I had a weapon right now though. Apart from y'know a pointy stick and, fuu... friggin A and B here." She cracked her fistfight scarred knuckles for emphasis as she said that, but, it had seemed her new digital friend had picked up yet again on the barely caught profanities, giving her a knowing look.
"I know what you're thinking. Don't"
"Are you psychi- Psycho- psooci..."
"I don't need to be a damn psychic to figure out what you're thinking about right now."
Haley raised a brow as she was handed a rice ball. Why did everything have rice around here? Nonetheless, she thanked Katsura, and looked down at the newly hatched digimon that was currently rolling around seemingly investigating its surroundings, occasionally looking up at the group. Did these things even eat riceballs? I mean, the only other human here seemingly knew what they were doing so that was really about all Haley had to go on right about now. How did you even call one of these things? Was it like a dog? Maybe whistling?
Seemingly that did the trick as the strange talking ball with a face came bounding over to her. She scratched her head, before offering the rice ball to the creature. It sniffed at it for a moment, Haley still unsure if it would actually take it until it just swallowed the entire thing whole! She took a step back out of surprise at the sudden nom, and just the size of that creature's mouth. To Haley, it nearly seemed like that thing was going to bite her whole hand off!
"You uh... You enjoy that?"
The thing grinned, the girl still looked a little startled to find out that the talky almost sweary ball was pretty much a living red pacman... This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

It was not so much paranoia that had descended upon Coolmon. Rather, she was going over a great amount of possibilities that could or could not become real at anytime and for her and everyone's safety? She hoped that they didn't. "Hey, hey, let's...not teach them the uncool language, please." Coolmon chided Nyao.
It was a relief to hear that Katsura knew a way out and that she...also kind of knew one. Heck, she accidentally got on that way out. Poor her. Even better that...well, Nyao seemed to fit the Coolmon Guidelines for Being a Good Partner, too.
Rinji's words did help. Coolmon calmed down a little. "...That's true. I think us three could hold off anything that comes at us for a time, so...That's a lil' relieving." She nodded. "What isn't relaxing is this hunger I bear within my gullet." She noted. "...Where's that meat farm? And...Yeah, let's go there." The best part?
That swear-y uncool girl was getting along with her little red partner. "...Y'know, maybe your partner turns into that gold Digimon that can become a sword..." She hypothesized.

"Sounds great, you can lead the way if you like" Katsura had apparently nothing against the idea of eating at a meat farm Nyao meanwhile was starting to imagine all kinds of things to eat once there. The cutemon also seemed hungry and keen to the idea of eating, so after hearing how hungry cutemon was, Katsura raised her shoulders in a shrug. The comment that the forest is rather remote went over Katsura's head nor did it affect her much to hear that she'd have to walk in 30 minutes. Having access to mega level and being rather adapt to the forest might have something to do with that though. She had to admit, however that she couldn't just have Nyao become ladyDevimon and fly over there, aside from not knowing the way Katsura couldn't just abandon the others especially not a newly hatched digimon.
This carried over to a minute long staring contest between Katsura and Nyao giving the (false) implications that they had telepathic powers. (in reality they were just that close).
"I guess we'll have to walk there." Katsura then heard Rinji talking about how a digimon would like to attack them and require them to fight, Katsura twisted her head in confusion. Those two lines could be spoken in Latin and achieve the same result. "Attack us?..." This also doubled at her reaction to Haley's rant about her "spear" obviously digimon can't be vicious let alone evil. "This is the digital world, why would you need a weapon?"
Katsura watched Haley feed her new partner, how startled she was and how Punimon took the whole thing. It made Katsura do another smile as she walked next to Haley. "You see? Digimon are the nicest beings in existence. Nothing to be afraid of"

As a digimon himself, Katsura's comments about the Digital World and its denizens being the nicest beings in existence struck an uncomfortable chord within him. Was the human world really that bad in comparison? He'd never seen anything to suggest it. Did she say there was nothing to be afraid of?
Thinking about it, there were actually a lot of things to be afraid of. Angry fire-breathing dinosaurs, edgy demons, and territorial 30ft dragons amongst them. Better hold back on commenting, there was no need to scare the girl further. She needed to trust her new partner and get used to the Digital World first. She couldn't do that if she was frightened out of her wits.
Focussing on the meat farm and Coolmon's ideas of what Punimon might digivolve into sounded far more fun.
Rinji smiled in amusement at Coolmon's dramatic description of her hunger. "The meat farm is just through the forest up here." He walked ahead a few paces, indicating its direction ahead. When everyone agreed to set off, he could lead them through there.
"A gold digimon that becomes a sword?" He commented, bewildered by the description. "Maybe he'll become a..." He paused, and looked at Haley. "Liollmon?" It was a strange observation, and likely an inaccurate one, but he did tend to notice a trend between tamers and their digimon.

The other human was saying this place was safe. Seemingly confused about why someone would want a weapon in an alien forest full of strange creatures including a giant centipede looking things. Sure, these ones were friendly, but, what if the next one wasn't? It certainly didn't feel safe, but, what else would one feel if they had been transported by some unknown hand to a confusing alternate universe where everything was almost right, but, ever so slightly off even before you got to these strange creatures that could somehow talk despite looking like mutated animals from the "real" world. Well, that, and strange blob things like the one that Haley was seemingly stuck with right now.
The others kept talking about a "meat farm". Seemed a strange way of labelling a farm. Usually farms that raised cattle or pigs were still just called "farms". Perhaps this place would have some sort of farm shop? That wasn't too out of the ordinary, especially in the rural areas of America that Haley spent her earliest years in. It was close too apparently, but, that too seemed a little strange. Haley had some pretty sharp senses, and farms were not exactly hard to smell, especially ones specialising in livestock, yet, there was no hint of that.
"Maybe he'll become a... "Liollmon?"
She looked down at the strange red miniature space hopper that was bouncing around the forest floor, before looking back at the giant talking centipede, which, despite her trying to play it off as the others seemingly were, was still perhaps one of the most terrifying looking things she had ever seen. "Yeah, I have no idea what you're talking about. What's that?"

"I meant the...the pointy one. That one that becomes a weapon while screaming things concerning the number twenty. Anyways...Uh. Not everyone's as nice as me or Rinji, y'know...So it's not really unreasonable on her end. Uh...Could use a step up from just that stuff though..."
Coolmon honestly felt like she was starting to ramble on and on and that didn't necessarily sit too well with her. She looked towards Cameron and gave a resigned sighed. "...I know this stuff may not make sense right now but inevitably it should...Just take care of that Punimon, okay?" Then she looked to Rinji. "...Think you can lead us to lunch?"

Katsura shock her head, the idea that a digimon could become a literal weapon, not just in the metaphorical way or because of how much power it got. It was hard for Katsura to get over the idea of a talking sword. "Sigh, the digital world keeps giving me weird surprises." Katsura then took the time to acknowledge the cutemon's comments about not all digimon would be nice. "Don't be silly, I haven't met a digimon that didn't at least have a good reason." "Like hunger" Nyao mumbled to herself, she wasn't as idealistic as Katsura in this case.
Katsura thought back to some her adventures including those in the dark area. True to be told Katsura wasn't stupid as much as she was stubborn about seeing the good in other digimon. Just how much had she been through to stop being scared of digimon. Well that was a thought for later, right now Katsura had decided to follow after Rinji expecting him to lead the group to the meat farm.

"Certainly!" Rinji replied; happy to lead at Coolmon's request. "It's this way," Rinji said, taking initiative to start walking ahead of the group. "Just be careful of any, uh, roots." The forest was quite thick, and he couldn't count the amount of times he used to trip over the roots when he first moved in from Primary Village.
Meanwhile, Coolmon's vivid descriptions of a digimon obsessed with the number twenty were confusing him just as much as it was confusing Haley. "Weird," he muttered, unsure of what to think of such a digimon. He was mainly used to beast and plant digimon, not weapon-digimon.
Although that wasn't the only thing that was weird. "I'm sure there used to be a bridge over that river," he announced, as the group eventually came to a waterway. "Oh." Indeed, there were the remains of a bridge.
"I guess it just rotted away." He admittedly hadn't been in this part of the forest recently, and the bridge wasn't all too large. About three meters long, and a meter high, it was just enough to keep one from getting uncomfortably wet and muddy from the river below.
"Uh, what should we do?" He asked the group, not wanting to force anyone into doing anything without asking first.

"Twenty? What's so special about twenty?" Haley continued on through the dense woodland, fallen leaves crunching underfoot as she followed the others. This was just a dream. A stupid dream. How could it not be? The fact that nothing in here so far was trying to kill her though was unusual. Typically the images that went through her head after she drifted off was not nearly as pleasant as walking through some picturesque woodlands. perhaps if she remained "on script" so to say, she might be able to wake up without that giant centipede monstrosity tearing her limb from limb or something."So... digital... Are we inside a computer or something? How? Work with me here, trying to figure this craziness out. Is this Tron?"
The group soon came to a clearing. It was a whole lot brighter without the tree cover, Haley squinting and shielding her eyes while they adjusted. There were certainly the remnants of a bridge here, but no. That would be too easy. This mustn't have been a path travelled too often. Nonetheless this river was what, couple meters across? Didn't seem too deep, although screwing up just a little bit here would result in getting covered in mud. Wait. This was a dream. Why should she care about that?
"Yeah, I can jump this."
"Wot?"
"I can totally clear this. Don't worry bud, I ain't gonna drop you."
"Not sure..."
"I am. Hey, if I fuck up, you can say "I told you so"."
"Swear."
"Shhh."
She walked over to the bank, testing the depth with a long stick. Certainly possible to wade through, but, where would the fun be in that? No, that would be too boring. The girl stepped back a ways, holding her new digimon partner in her arms as she eyeballed the distance she'd need. Shouldn't be too difficult, she thought as she took a running start, sprinting ahead with digimon still carefully in hand and full on went for it, clearing the small river and landing square on her feet, jogging to a stop and looking back to the others.

"I actually dunno! Maybe it just likes the number. It's capable of being split evenly into fifths." Coolmon wasn't actually very sure about this. The idea of a Zubamon being obsessed with...twenties was kind of odd already.
Like something her cousin would say.
...Wait, she had a cousin?
...Weird...
"...Honestly, reasons or not...Evil is still evil, I wager. Pretty uncool." Coolmon stated as she started to follow Rinji. Either the bridge being mentioned did rot away...Or...
"...What if someone like...moved it?" But why? And...What then? "...Well, uh...Maybe there's a point somewhere near here where we can cross the river without that much peril...
...Then the pottymouth just straight up jumped it! "Wooooah! Looking cool, uh...Oh wow I don't know your name. Did you say your name?" Coolmon didn't remember all too well what had happened. "Maybe WE COULD JUMP TOO!"
...But wouldn't Rinji be unable to cross given his bugginess? "...Wait no my bug buddy needs a bridge yeah that's...Oof."
What a dilemma.

As Katsura and Nyao followed Rinji towards the meat farm, Katsura nonchalantly passed through the roots. Even if Katsura didn't know the way, obviously she knew the Do's and Don't's for Sewer Woods. At the same time she fell into an interesting conversation with Haley about what the digital world is. "I stopped thinking about it a while ago, I used to come here with trains and that disgusting Shibuya river. Then I found out it's much easier just to make portals to anywhere you want to go. I think this is a whole different world to be honest at least that explains why there are so many digimon in the human world." Haley might like to pay extra attention to the last comment, according to Katsura there are several digimon in Haley's world but then again this is probably all just a dream, right? Either way, the group eventually reached a clearing. To get over a river, they'll have to cross a bridge. That wouldn't normally be a problem if it wasn't because this particular bridge was in poor condition and completely unsuitable for carrying them over. Rinji addressed the group for what to do now. Rinji suggested that the bridge was rotted away while Coolmon suggested that it was moved. "Why would anyone move a bridge?"
Before Coolmon could answer Katsura, Haley had a solution to the problem. She took a leap of faith and jumped over the river. "I guess that's one way to solve this." Nyao said. Katsura sighed, she lacked the physique required to do the same and the question raised by Coolmon about Rinji did not help the matters. Nyao, however started staring at Katsura with pleading eyes. "Sigh, fine let's do it your way." Nyao excitingly jumped out of Katsura's arms, in midair Katsura took out her digidevice. As Katsura closed her eyes, a beam of light shot out of her digidevice, it was magnified in the Crest of loyalty she wears around her neck and hit Nyao. The cat was engulfed in light and started turning into a dark angel. "Blackgatomon digivolve to... Ladydevimon." The dark angel descended in front of the river with a confident smile. Then she went down on her knees allowing Katsura to climb her. So how did Katsura get over? By piggybacking Nyao while she was flying that's how! Once on the other side of the river, after dropping off Katsura, Nyao shouted to Coolmon and Rinji. "Do you two need a ride?"

"You'd need to be pretty strong to move a bridge," Rinji replied in thought about Coolmon's weird comment. He looked unsure at the river once more, wagering whether its remains could still be used to awkwardly hop over.
THUD.
And Haley had just cleared the whole river. "Nice," he whispered under his breath. He looked back over to Coolmon, and did a tiny shrug... at least, the best tiny shrug that an insect could do. Maybe they could all just jump over? If Haley had done it without slipping, then its definitely do-able.
And then he heard Coolmon's comment about not being able to jump.
"H-hey, I can jump-"
Before he could even finish his sentence, a flash of light erupted in the corner of his vision, a LadyDevimon flew over the water - and offered the pair a ride.
"-too."
"Um, should we?" He asked, looking to Coolmon. It would seem a waste not to take the LadyDevimon's offer... even if she was giving him the shivers.
