Data watched as Edgar valiantly slayed the chocolate cake-cocoa combo. It was a good show. The kid had promise, Data could see, even when it came to eating cake cocoa.
Data and Alexa pondered Yuuki's words. Having not even gone into the digital world yet, retirement felt like such an odd concept in Alexa's mind. Here she and Edgar were at the start of their journey, and on the other side, Hikaru and Yuuki. She realized she should have been much more grateful to the experienced tamer and his partner. God knows even if there were harsh truths involved in having a digion, it was better to learn this way than to fall flat on her face out there without guidance.
"I hope everything's okay. It's nice that you're taking care of someone," Alexa said. She realized it would be rude to try, but so many things about Yuuki caught her curiosity. Oh right, the d-terminal. Well, she had a digivice. She opened her satchel. Yep, there it was - a device just like the one in Yuuki's hand. She gingerly brought it out and inspected it.
"There's a lot to learn. But you've helped us out a lot. If there's anything we can do to help you out in return, just message me," Alexa said. She doubted Yuuki would ever need her help, but it seemed polite to offer.
"What's the status of the world? Its seems I've been gone some time," Data asked. "Also, yeah, some guards might be a good idea. I'm still not back in fighting shape, don't know quite when I will be."
Edgar gave a shy laugh, at both comments. "You think so, I just felt like this should be taken seriously Y'know," Edgar replied scratching the back of his head, he wasn't used to people saying stuff like that, then again he wasn't used to talking to people older than him.
"It's fine, I wouldn't ask you anyway, You've done enough already. Thank you, both of you for all this information. And the, drink." Maybe next time he won't chug it, no matter what Artemis says. he then looked at the D-Terminal. "I've never seen something like that befo-" He didn't get to finish his sentence as Artemis had already brought it out of his bag. "I couldn't give this to you before, mostly because I forgot about it at the school. But this came with your digivice." He said presenting it to him like he did the digivice before. with his partner behind him telling him what to do he managed to make the device work, simply putting Yuuki's and Hikaru's names in the D-terminal before closing it.
"Guards sound nice, but I don't think me and the General should, we gotta look for people and guards do tend to make others a bit more uncomfortable." Artemis pointed out, that's right Edgar was supposed to look for others. Though hearing what Alexa said Edgar just nodded. "I might not be much help but, if you need something I'll try to help too, though I don't know what or even if you'd want my help," Edgar admitted unsure of what he could do for the guy who could summon an army of one.
"I only have one question, why does Hikaru have a kilt." That question was still burning in the back of Edgar's mind since he saw the digimon, there HAD to be some reason behind that right?
"Heh, thanks you two. Maybe when you two are even more experienced and when I need someone to replace me on AEGIS, eh? I know I'll return to Digital World one day, and my journey is far from over."
The questions eh... "...Well, Digital World was shaken by appearance of devas and their head honcho, Zephyrus the Unascended. It was two years ago, but just as quickly as they appeared, they're also quick to gone. Some places of the Digital World are destroyed. For example, the network plains and snowflake village take the most damage... but apparently now, there are dark towers appearing out of nowhere. They enslaved Digimons around them to their bidding... and they prevented evolutions."
"We just returned few days ago, and it's seem to be quite urgent, so I suppose it's best to wait slightly longer," Hikaru said.
But Edgar's question was the icing on the cake. Hikaru literally burst out laughing. "OK, so you wanna know about my ultra fabulous kilt, hmn? Well, look no further. Have these..."
He suddenly pulled out of it... a bagpipe. A bagpipe, yet it fits under there. He continued and produced several outlandish items like teacup, plates, cooking utensils, picture diary, and even an unicycle.
"...Long story short, I don't even know how is that possible," Yuuki said... "But that's exactly why he have a kilt. He's used to be kiltless, but suddenly he saw a bagpipe and began to play it... and he just find that wearing kilt apparently charming... but how he made that kilt into a four dimensional pocket, don't ask me."

Seriously was right. But digimon wasn't all doom and gloom, as shown by Hikaru. Alexa was still focused on the point about the guards - sure, they'd scare people away, but after learning about the dangers of the digtal world, that was kind of comforting for her. The less trouble, the better.
Data nodded as Yuuki told him about what happened to the digital world. It was troubling, but not unexpected. The digital world always tended to have it's share of troubles anyway. Shame that it had to happen in such peaceful places, but he supposed that was the way of things, too.
Alexa applauded Hikaru's bagpiping.
"Just like in Scotland. You know, it's one of my favorite places in the world. If you're interested, I have a ton of souvenirs from my time there. No real kilts or bagpipes, but teacakes, wool sweaters, rock candy, tea - lots of things," Alexa offered. Hey, if there was one thing she had too much of, it was stuff from her travels. And the point of traveling and getting stuff was to share with friends, anyway. "I also have lots of stuff from America and Canada, if you're missing home," she said, turning to Edgar.
She hoped she could call Edgar, Artemis, Yuuki, and Hikaru friends at this point. She hadn't exactly had a lot, so her experience in such things was limited. She at least had enough self-awareness not to ask it out loud.
"So you've traveled the human world, eh? Don't be too worried about the digital world then. I'm sure you have enough street smarts. Plus, I'll be there with you," Data gently reminded his tamer.
Devas? Edgar couldn't remember but that name sounded familiar, nothing digital world related of course but he recalled hearing something else being referred as that, though it was nice to hear they were gone, also a bit concerning it was only gone not taken care of, especially if it shook a world with creatures like these. Maybe it would be best to wait a few days until everything was sorted out, after all not much he could do, Artemis couldn;t evolve in the first place.
And yup that answered his question, only it didn't all it did was raise further questions. out came teacups, plates, cooking utensils, but it wasn't until the Unicycle that Edgar really started wondering the absurdity of this. Then again he did just see this same digimon turn into four different forms and blow up a test dummy, pretty much by looking at it so maybe this was just normal in the digital world?
Though what Alexa said surprised Edgar, he just smiled waving it off. "I'm fine on that regard, I have a lot of stuff from home to remind me of home, though I'd be more interested in what other souvenirs you have." After all if she had some stuff for places he'd never been wouldn't that be great. "I want some rock candy." Artemis added but Edgar felt the need to interject. "You don't have a mouth Artemis."
Well, today was pleasant. Yuuki just chuckled while Hikaru gently refused that. "I'd love to join on your travel one day though," Hikaru admitted. "But currently we're tied to our duties to AEGIS, so we'll be staying here for a long time. I'd really love to go to Stonehenge... I wonder if there is also a Digital Gate there... who knows? Well, that aside I'm glad to meet you guys and glad that you guys are awesome people who decided to listen instead of waved our experience off. We had some people who just waved us off and doesn't listen to stuff we said. It was damn painful." Hikaru winced at that last one. It's seem to be a painful experience.
"Anyway, the breaktime is over and I should start writing for my essays. I think I'm supposed to graduate this year if all goes well... Anyway, if you think you guys are burdening me, don't think so. It's better to be burdened than someone you know got in huge trouble. When in Digital World, the keyword is: don't be scared to ask for help from someone you know, got it? Also because I'm an AEGIS officer, it's also good if you want to report any digital happenstances. I'll get to that place as fast as I could."

"Hey, he may have a mouth once he digivolves. Anyway, he's right, don't quash the poor kid's dreams," Data said to Edgar.
Alexa thought for a moment. "Yes, I should have some rock candy. Some from Scotland, from from America, some from China. As for other souvenirs... I have a lot. My most favorite is my beer-based soap from the Czech Republic. Hmm, you may a bit young for that. Let me think what else I have."
"Stonehenge is pretty cool. A bit overcrowded. There's some other rock structures nearby that are just as lovely, and much less crowded. I'm sure I have a snow glove of it somewhere," Alexa continued, finally finding something she really could talk about.
"It's been a real pleasure," Data said, stopping his tamer from continuing on about Stonehenge. "I'm sorry about those other jerks who didn't listen to you. You have a lot of good things to say."
Alexa had more questions about the digital world, and even about AEGIS, but it didn't seem polite to continue asking things, even if Yuuki said it was no bother. Well, if she really was quite curious later, she could send him a message on her d terminal thingy. If she could figure it out.
"Thank you," she finally said. Saying more would just lead to more questions.
"From one officer to another, I promise if we see anything fishy, we'll report," Data promised.
"We're glad to have met you also, I've really learned a lot, glad to get a heads up on the whole multiple partners thing. Sure is going to get lively around me." Edgar said with a small sigh, dealing with Artemis was a lot, but seven, was his room even big enough for seven digimon? To Data's comment, Artemis simply shook his head. "I can't digivolve Data, I start and end as Artemis, but I suppose that means no fresh or IN-training stage either." Though that made him curious, he literally came to this world Artemis, and then was told he couldn't evolve but needed partners.
"I wonder why?" Edgar asked himself after hearing people tried to ignore them, didn't seem like a good idea. "We'll be sure to report any happenstance, you have mine and the General's word." Artemis added talking for the both of them, but Edgar agreed so he just nodded along. "I've probably said it enough but, thanks again." Edgar replied once more, he had some other questions but he should start leaving, despite all this he was still just a kid his parents expected him back sometime.
"Oh don't worry," Hikaru said. "Chance that as main partner, you can evolve by your own without needing to fuse with the other. It's called 'Chou Shinka', you see. It's like a super evolution I guess? Kinda jumped up two stage or something... Ah, stonehenge is crowded? That's a pity. If there is some way I'd love to go to Camelot too, or wherever it's used to be. I want to get as many info I can about the knight of round table. Maybe by using that I can get inspiration for my moves, hmn!"
Many good things to say, huh? Yuuki chuckled. "I guess I'm just type that goes on and on. Hikaru hates people that doesn't listen though, so.... well, let's just say that their initial meeting was absolutely a disaster. He literally gets so angry that he nearly slapped the other guy with his tail."
"I wanted to toss them a velvet glove, but... of course that would be not a fair duel. I'm a high leveled Digimon," Hikaru said.
"Anyway, it's my time to say 'see ya later'. It's really nice to meet you guys, but I need to write my essays. Hope the class worked for you two. Remember, when you two need any survival training skill--or hand on fighting skill, just call me. I'll ask my friend to help you two."
With that, Hikaru and Yuuki left the gym after waving goodbye to their new friends. Ah, of course, the Dorumon devolved further to Dodomon as usual and gets inside his partner's bag.

"Can't digivolve?" Data repeated. He'd known of digimon that couldn't evolve before, but they were few and far between. He felt bad for Artemis - evolving was, to Data, pretty fun. But the would be a discussion for another day.
Alexa hid her yawn behind her hand. This went really, really well. Not only did she find out about the egg, but she hatched it - and learned quite a bit more as well. This turned out so much better than she could've even envisioned.
She noted that she'd try to get Hikaru a book on the knights of the round table next time. She watched Hikaru and Yuuki head out. Well, it was probably their time as well.
"It was nice to my you Edgar, you too Artemis. I hope I see you guys out there later," she said, 'out there' probably being the digital world. She looked down to Data.
"Hey, can you turn back to Tokomon? I can fit you into my bag and we can get out that way."
Data nodded and reverted back to Tokomon. He jumped into Alexa's bag. With a final nod towards Edgar and Artemis, she and Data left the library, hopefully to further adventures.
Edgar gave a small wave as everyone else started to leave. "Alright then, goodbye take care" With that end Edgar gave a small wave to them as they left looking over at Artemis. "Alright, then we should get going ourselves." With that Artemis went into his bag and Edgar started to walk away before stopping. "Wait what did I come here for again?" Artemis and he stopped for a few moments thinking about that for a while, that while was stopped by someone coming to the door to the P.E room.
A black haired girl with a hat stood in front of the door, luckily this was shortly after everything calmed down and everyone else left. "There you are, I was worried about you." She said as Edgar put his hand over his bag before walking over to her, remembering he was here to study.
"Oh sorry sis, I got lost new to this place." He said and walk past and alongside her down the hall. "And ended up in a P.E Room? Eh I was just worried." She added before the two of them went back up to the library.
