Team Name: The Mazoku
Team Ideal: Control
Team Ability: Master Influence: Having completed the Shadow Trials, the Mazoku gain the knowledge of Good and Evil. They possess superior persuasion skills, and can influence those around them much more effectively, potentially manipulating Humans and Digimon alike, even if they don't realize they are being manipulated. This effect is strengthened in the Dark Area, and does not work against other members of the Mazoku.
Base Location: The Dark Fortress
Recruitment, Leadership, and Rules:
Potential recruits must complete the Shadow Trials to be accepted into the Mazoku. We are a family, united as one. The Mazoku is a clan lead by Maō Dante, along with the Goddess of Destruction Lilithmon. The Mazoku exists to spread Lilithmon's influence and conquer areas of the Digital World. All members must pledge their loyalty to the Goddess. Senseless destruction is beneath us. The far greater victory is to make Digimon see the truth and submit to our rule. The Mazoku mostly operates out of the Digital World. While in the Human World, we do not reveal our presence or attempt to disrupt the balance between worlds. We keep a low profile and work in the shadows. While ultimate supremacy would be ideal, it is better to focus on taking over a few areas at a time, growing our power and eliminating anyone who dares challenge our right to rule.
History and Details:
Long ago, the Digital World was ruled over by supreme beings known as Goddesses, who waged war against each other to expand their empires. They collectively ruled undisputed over most of the Digital World until Lilithmon, The Dark One, and the Prince of Chaos formed the Dark Triad, and ultimately defeated the remaining Goddesses. They ruled over the Digital World, until Piedmon turned on the Triad, leading to Lilithmon's death. Piedmon was banished to an empty dimension, and the Dark One made plans to resurrect the Goddess. After Wizardmon had interfered, The Goddess would not return for some time, until Dante returned to Japan. The Goddess was reincarnated without her memories as Wormmon, Dante's Digimon partner. Wizardmon, while working under the Dark One but still loyal to Piedmon, releases Piedmon from his prison, who returned to the Dark Fortress and banished the Dark One to the same dimension Piedmon was sent. Now, Lilithmon has regained her memories, and the time has come to reclaim what can rightfully only belong to a Goddess.
Dante and Lilithmon have made many loyal allies on their journeys, and now they are uniting under one banner. Our combined power will be not be denied. The Mazoku have a strong affinity for magic, and both the light and the darkness. Our uniforms vary by rank, most mostly center around either robes or plate armor. Cloaks are important to better mask our identity as we infiltrate the Digital World. Our main colors are red, black, purple, and gold. We stand for truth, knowledge, and independence.
Ruling Maō: Dante Palladino
Ranks:
Maō: The Maō is the leader of the Mazoku. The mastermind who possesses supreme knowledge of Good and Evil. Generally wears a black and red cloak, black and gold plate armor. Rank color: Gold.
Commander: 2nd in command. The most capable Mazoku besides the Maō. Only the best of the elite can reach this rank, as they must keep the ruling Maō from falling off the path to knowledge. Generally wears a gold and red chestplate with black and purple robes. Rank color: Red.
Archdemon: Powerful members of the Mazoku who have been deemed worthy. The elite fighting force of the Mazoku, along with the Commander. Limited to 2 members. Generally wears black robes with either red or purple trim. Heavy armor optional. Rank color: Black.
Apostate: The hands of darkness. Those that have been granted sanctuary in the Mazoku. Generally wears purple or red and black robes. Rank color: Purple.
Initiate: Initiates are members who have not yet taken the Shadow Trials. They can participate in missions, but cannot rank up.
For ceremonies, the Mazoku wear black robes with red trim. During down time, members may wear lightweight grey uniforms with their rank color as the trim. Proper attire in front of the Maō is crucial, and could result in a challenge being issued.
The Maō can remove a member if they wish. However, the Commander has 2 days to either accept, or deny this order. After 2 days if the Commander does not respond, the sentence will be carried out. If the Commander chooses to appeal, they have the option to either face the Maō, or allow the member in question to fight on their own behalf. The reigning commander cannot be removed unless the Maō and at least one Archdemon support the motion. Members facing termination have 2 days to either accept resignation, or appeal.
The Commander possesses the right to invoke an Inquisition should the Maō fail to suitably meet expectations. At this point the Mazoku must discuss these transgressions. The reigning Maō cannot be forced to step down, but if enough members of the Mazoku threaten to leave, a new Maō shall be determined through combat as determined by the ruling Maō. Apostates may challenge Archdemons for their rank with permission of the Maō, or Commander in their absence. An Apostate must declare their challenge, and the ruling Maō has 3 days to either approve or decline the challenge. At this point it falls to the commander. Once a challenge has been issued, the Archdemon also has 3 days to accept, or risk demotion.
In order for any rank above Apostate to be demoted or removed, they must be defeated in combat. If they have failed to accept the challenge after three days, they do not receive the right or honor of defending their rank, and they shall be demoted or removed. Obviously if someone says in advance they will be gone, their rank will not come into question unless a suitable time passes deemed by 2 members Archdemon or higher, with at least one being the ruling Maō or commander. The Maō can request a member of the Mazoku to fight. If they do not accept after 3 days, they risk discipline.
