Toki Akiyama has lived in the city of Tokyo for about a year now and he still hasn't gotten used to the noise and crowds it's infamous for. He just wasn't sure what he was even doing here. University, yes, but what else was there to do? He didn't know. He decided on a whim to visit Shibuya proper since he never took the time to explore despite living so close.
The crowds were still brutal and the stares he got from how he towered over a lot of people didn't help. He couldn't help but overhear some people whispering, wondering if he was some thug or even Yakuza. Yakuza? Why would anyone assume he was Yakuza? Oh right, the scar on his lip might have something to do with his supposed 'thuggish' appearance. He brought his scarf over his mouth to hide it as he continued his exploration.
Along the way he saw many high school students with their friends, laughing and having a good time talking about the latest hit single or the midnight release of a new game. It was strange that just a couple of years ago he would be like them, though he didn't have people to talk to like these students did. He wished he understood what all of this fuss was about. He wanted to know the excitement they were feeling, but is it even possible for someone like him at this point?
He stood on one of the more remote bridges of the river to take his mind off of the crowds for a while. It was here he contemplated his place in there world. What was ahead of him other than possibly inheriting the dojo? Was he even capable of doing that? Was it even what he wanted to do?
His contemplation was interrupted when he was suddenly turned to face a rather brutish looking man with a group of similarly thuggish men at his back. Two of them had grabbed his arms and leaned him over the bridge "Look at what we got here. Tall, dark, long hair...." the main thug pulled Toki's scarf down to see the scar on his lip "Yeah that's him alright. You put my cousin in Ishikawa in the hospital a couple years ago didn't you? Heard rumors you were in Tokyo, but man it took forever to find you. What do you gotta say for the trouble you've caused for me and my family, huh?" he asked as he pushed Toki further over the bridge "I-I'm sorry...I'm sorry it was an...an accident! He drew a knife on me what was I s-supposed to do?" he gulped. All he got in return was laughter "Seriously? You, someone who can't even talk without tripping over your own words, are some big bad martial arts guy? Don't mess with me, punk...you have to answer to what you did. How's about a swim?" with that, he shoved Toki over the edge.
Toki took a deep breath before splashing into the water below. For a split second, he felt as if he was falling further even after landing in the river, but he ignored it and tried to swim back up to the surface. When he did, however, he was greeted with a strange sight. An unfamiliar sky, cloudless and a warm sun shining down on him as he swam to the sort of the small pond to get his bearings. As he looked around, he was certain he must have died from the fall, because this certainly wasn't Shibuya. He pinched himself, wincing as he still felt pain. The area was full of beautiful, green hills that had an aura of peace about them. He climbed up to the top of the hill and checked his surroundings. There looked to be a large forest nearby, but there was also a village as well. First, he sat down to check his backpack to make sure nothing suffered damage from the water. Thankfully everything seemed to be dry.. Maybe someone in the village could help him understand where he was, so he stood up and began to make his way towards the village.
