Toki chuckled softly "It doesn't bother me at all. I'll still be your friend, Edgar. And yours, Artemis..." he smiled at the both of them and at how the two of them interacted with each other. They both knew each other so well despite their rather short time together from what he gathered. "Well, there's a lot more to being strong than strong powers or abilities...at least I think so...there's nothing shameful about being kind..." he said to Artemis. He looked over at Edgar "I guess sometimes we just need that push. You're lucky you have someone like Artemis to do that." he said, keeping his smile up.
He listened to Alicia "If...if we're chosen as you say, then I think...you have a chance to find your answers...fate wouldn't be so cruel to leave someone so stranded. S-some answers might just be harder to find than others." he seemed a bit embarrassed to be saying these things. Was he just waxing philosophy at this point "Sorry, saying stupid things again."
When Sol began explaining the concepts of spirit totems, he tensed up a bit "This is a lot to remember...there are that many totems to find...? I hope I'm worthy of the totem I've been given and that Tururiemon didn't pick the wrong person for this. There are so many others out there. Stronger people, people who are better at talking to others...why me? Why did Tururiemon pick me?"

Artemis paused for a moment at Alicia's response, before nodding in agreement. "Alright, I understand now. Yeah, I doubt me and the General could even come close to match you, let alone beat you." He agreed with her, he didn't seem like he was about to force her to be friends with him. Edgar could only scratch the side of his head hearing Artemis say that it was a pretty good concern to have, had Edgar felt it necessary he might have even thanked her for her caution. Though before he could even think of that something seemed to of happened, the kid almost worryingly opened his mouth but before anything could be said the matter was solved. "Right, that's probably for the best." He agreed with the spirit, though he doubted he could have the same mentality.
Artemis simply shrugged at Toki's explanation of strength. "If it were up to me I'd never fight, would rather be friends but, if I have to all I'll focus on is fighting, the General's the one who leads me, after all, that's why he's the General." Artemis simply replied nodding his head in agreement with his own mind. "Yeah, if there's anything Artemis does it's pushing me towards new situations." Considering this and the event with Yuuki and Alexa, that was all Artemis. "It's for the best, gotta learn a lot if you want to be a great General." Artemis happily added.
Though that spirit totem talked was on par with what Edgar knew about those, if not with a lot more detail about the proper ranks and functions. Though Edgar bit his tongue with whatever questions he may have had about the spirits after all this was Toki and Alicia's specialty not his. But then Yuuki has mentioned again. "I met Yuuki at a library in the human world with a friend of mine Alexa, I already had Artemis and was trying to help her out with the whole Egg thing before Yuuki showed up and filled in some of the gaps I had, strangely though I never found Artemis in an egg, might just be a Xros General thing though," Edgar mentioned, he hadn't met any others to compare it to.
"I asked Artemis the same thing when he handed me over the Xros Loader, while he wasn't exactly the most helpful with the details Artemis kept mentioning when he looked at me, when he first saw me he knew I was his General, I don't think you can pick the wrong person," Edgar mentioned before sighing. "If anyone's the wrong person to do this it's me, I'm a screwup. my sister would have been a much better choice but here I am with Artemis, whatever Artemis saw in me, I'm sure it's the same thing Tururiemon saw in you." Edgar pointed out, while Artemis didn't seem to agree with the screwup part the rest he seemed to nod at.

Alicia allowed a small smile to cross her lips at Toki’s words. “Believe me when I saw I do understand that better than most people think I do...” she returned in response. “I’ve been committed to this path long before my troubles have cropped up... I’ll see it through to the end, whatever that end may be.”
”That’s actually just the bare minimum...” Sol admitted with a chuckle. ”For example, Alicia here has a few fractional spirits and an entire secondary line on top of her main. Which just about doubled the number of spirits she needs to hunt for. And do not fear. You’ve gained what you have because you are the best one to wield that power and potential. You are uniquely suited to it. As for why exactly? Even I can only speculate. Perhaps your journey will reveal the answer to that.”
”Heh. Always good to broaden your horizons one way or another.” Kisara quipped over to Artemis and Edgar. ”So don’t fear the unknown to a ridiculous extent. Who knows what you’d miss out on.”
“... A library?” Alicia asked curiously, before giggling a bit. “Ahaha... okay that doesn’t fit with what I’ve known about him at all... Still everybody is unique...”
”I’ve seen some Tamers not have to deal with the whole egg thing either, but it does seem to be more a Xros General thing.” Sol commented off hand, shrugging.
“... Thanks, you guys...” Alicia suddenly noted, sighing. Her advisors looked to her curiously at that, as it seemed out of no where. “I guess I needed to meet some new faces and talk a bit more than I realized...” Well that was a cryptic answer, but the elder Spirit User at least seemed a bit brighter than she’d had been when this impromptu meeting started.

Toki listened to the two of them speak and felt a peace within himself as they seemed to be a little better now than they were before. At Artemis' preference to avoid a fight altogether, Toki nodded "Oh, of course. I prefer it that way myself. My father knew several other martial artists who believe that the greatest battle is the one not fought. Though there's nothing wrong with a friendly match from time to time." he seemed to be feeling better as well, evident by his more genuine smile.
He smiled at Edgar "Looks like we're both pushing ourselves to trying new things. Sounds to me you've already met plenty of people who have been helping you and Artemis out. And to think there are so many other humans who know about this world, huh? It's kind of surreal if you think about it that this place has basically been hidden in plain sight for so long. A-anyway...you mentioned you met someone named Yuuki and they helped explain some things? What were they like? I'd like to know in case we ever met." he asked Edgar and Artemis.
He felt relieved after he heard Alicia's words "That sort of commitment to what you believe in...it's inspiring. I want to make my decisions too and live with them no matter what happens...that's how we all grow isn't it?" he said. He was still slightly unsure of himself, but began to slowly build that confidence he so desperately needs. To hear from them how he was chosen for a reason made him feel valuable to this world and made him feel valuable as a person. It was quite the liberating feeling.
To hear her say thank you added to that feeling of self-worth "I've...always underestimated how much someone to talk to can help out. I've never really had a chance to make many friends due to work at my father's dojo...but this really gives me that chance and I intend to see it through as best I can. I hope we can help each other even more from here on." Toki was really grateful to meet everyone here today. It would be strange to go back to the real world, but having a way to contact everyone when he needed them would be a boon. He also contemplated using the Digital World as a way to aid in his studies if time really did pass by slower here. It would be a practical use of his time along with the training at least.
