The car ride was rather quiet. Amsel and Katsura seemed to be talking among themselves, Elliot's question going ignored in the process. Having really good food made it all fine, though. Sure, the limo was basically just stocked with finger foods, but that was the best part of party foods. Not even MagnaAngemon's stoicism could overcome Elliot's sweet tooth, and he found himself sampling a few on their short journey.
It was all the more reminder that Elliot was going at this alone. All the wishing in the world wouldn't bring Isaac back, though. Power and experience were what would bring Isaac back, and this mission would be an important test of each.
One of the first things that he noticed was the communicator devices left on the seats. Tiny buttons? Oh, perfect! Elliot took one and fastened it onto his collar, giving it a brief tap to make sure it was working. Upon hearing a suitable amount of feedback noise he smiled, confident in the fact that he'd be able to stay in touch with Yuu and the others in case of a bad situation.
For now, though, it was time for the group to move along. Elliot smiled as he turned to the others. "Should we stick together for a bit, so nobody gets suspicious?" he asked. "Or should we cover as much ground as we can before the party really gets going?"
The Nightclub's entrance consisted of a large line of people who wanted to get inside, probably extending itself for a block and a half. The mere notion of having to put up with it was something no sane person would consider, but luckily, if any of the five beings were good observers, they'd notice as they moved along that most of the people and digimons in there weren't dressed fancily, those instead being some distance away in what seemed like a VIP entrance.
At an even closer inspection, it would be revealed right away that a certain blonde was already entering the through, accompanied by an Astamon; not much to be guessed there, besides having to navigate through the crowds of people right towards the entrance, and having to deal with the general sense of unrest and unpoliteness that the more lengthy line irradiated. Perhaps one, or even more members of the group could see that they were being looked at, and probably not in the nicest of ways.
Sometimes, the mere act of showing wealth could cause unhappiness. Who could know.
Once everyone else had hopped out, Amsel and Dorumon followed. for a moment Amsel was distracted by the sheer amount of people that were starting to enter the building. Never had she seen so many people in one place, sure she lives in a city but she had never seen a bunch of people trying to squeeze into a building. Amsel had too keep herself from getting to excited, after all they were under cover, they couldnt afford to draw attention to themselves. Dorumon who was just as shocked how big the party was going to be started to sweat, he hated being around so many people in one place it made him feel clostrapobic. Amsel tore her eyes away from the group of people and turned to look at her partner, she could sense the uneasyness rolling off him in waves. The young hyperactive girl put a hand on her digimon partners shoulder, an act or silente reasurance. She smiled when he slowly relaxed, she wasnt going to leave Dorumons side that was a promise.
Amsel looked up at Elliot when he had suggested the idea of sticking together, she thought about it for a moment before nodding with a large smile "ja, that sounds like a good idea!" she said. There really was no idea for them to split up so soon.
Katsura was relatively used to big crowded places in fact it wasn't long since she had been to an almost royal banquet in the dark area. Such an event is difficult to top even by an upper-class night club. Something she wasn't as used to was everyone staring at her and it made her feel uneasy but hey if you don't have "it" the least you can do is pretend. So she did with a nervous stepford smile Katsura walked through the crowd to the entrance, holding Nyao in her hand for support while being next to Amsel (and possibly Elliott if he so decides). Meanwhile Katsura wondered if she went overboard with her extravagant kimono design, the instructions did say formal and overclass, right? Oh the VIP entrance was over there? It figures. Katsura might have drawn a slight unintended attention to herself, she may have the looks now and the limo, what she lacks however is the confidence and self assurance to back it up, in fact Katsura habitually almost took the regular entrance rather than the vip but fortunately Nyao helped her subtly by pretending not to notice her turning despite holding hands, leading Katsura to continue the right way.
Hearing Elliott suggesting that they stick together on top of Amsel supporting the idea was like a blessing from God to her. "Umm I think we should stick together I mean you're right both of you. Ugh"
Think Katsura, you're probably making this awkward right now. Maybe some smalltalk with your new coworkers would do? "So you're Elliott, right? I think I heard that name before. A girl named Maia with a Kudamon named Kuu or something?"

The odd glares that Elliot was receiving as part of the VIP line weren't really doing much to intimidate or unnerve him. Frankly, if anything, they helped him feel a little bit better. The world was the world, whether filled with humans or strange magical creatures. They had their same insecurities, their same struggles, and apparently even their same inequalities. Granted, it had to have been disappointing knowing that even among a fantastical world like this there was a class struggle clearly going on. However, it helped Elliot feel a little bit less like a fish out of water, even if he had turned his back on the Digital World and the trials that it had brought. Maybe there were other ways to make an impact that didn't need him risking life and limb on a regular basis. They may have been uglier, trickier wounds to heal, but surely he could still help.
Then again, this class struggle could likely end in the poor Digivolving into giant dinosaurs to literally eat the rich. There was probably still a lot of danger. It was the principle of the subject that mattered most, though.
For now, he tried not to pay them much mind. If he tried to keep track of every disgruntled partygoer, his head would be swimming by the time he got to the front door. Instead, he tilted his head as Katsura spoke with him. How could he not pay attention at the name she had mentioned? "Kuu and Maia are . . . " he started. Normally this was the part where he talked about Isaac, but he was trying to move past that for now. No sense crying over spilled milk when he had important business to attend to. "Good friends of mine. Where did you see them, if I may ask?
Those inquisitive and unhappy gazes disappeared as soon as the group entered the Nightclub, stumbling directly into the gala. As expected, Caritas was at its finest; the place was finely decorated with rugs and fabrics that could only be described as ridiculously expensive and exotic. Inside, there was a multitude of small pockets of both humans and digimons dressed in formalwear of many cultures and backgrounds, but sharing the fact that everyone seemed to be some kind of influence, or at least that they were prestigious enough to have been invited to the gala.
The reception was a bit overwhelming, even if the place wasn't as crowded, but the exclusive nature of this event, even if some guests kept pouring from where the group had entered.
Before they had time to take on their surroundings, however, a Dinohumon who was eschewing his usual outfit for what could only be described as waiter clothes approached. On his left hand, a tray that currently supported a selection of glasses with a variety of liquids could easily be appreciated. His intent was... pretty obvious.
"Good night, ladies and gentlemen." He greeted in an extremely formal tone. "Would you like something to drink? We are proud to offer a variety of beverages sure to suit even the most exigent guests."
Amsel could care less about the angry stares they were receiving, she never really cared what other people thought about her and her behavior. Her partner, however, was quite the opposite, Dorumon felt so uncomfortable under the heated gaze of those around them. The Digimon walked a little closer to his partner as they entered the nightclub, once they were away from the gaze of the unfriendly stares Dorumon let out a relieved sigh, he really hated being stared at.
As soon as Amsel stepped into the building she was awed by the sights, there was expensive looking furniture that just screamed Higher Class. Normally the teen would be bouncing off the walls and running around trying to get a closer look at things, but she managed to stop this impulse. They were on a mission, it wouldn't help if she was kicked out for her behavior, however before she could fully take in their new and expensive looking surroundings they were approached by a well dressed Dinohumon. He offered them a drink from the platter he was holding, apparently, they were made here in the nightclub.
Amsel looked at the tray, she felt that refusing would have been rude so with a cute charming smile she gracefully took a drink with a polite thank you.
So it seemed like Katsura was right, this was Elliott the brother of Isaac who was turned into a digimon against his will. Once Katsura connected the dots, she instantly felt sorry for Elliott. Katsura had expected Elliott to mention his brother but already knowing the story in parts, she decided against pushing him and instead being vague. "Oh nowhere in particular, I just took a visit to the village of New beginnings." Katsura kept using a cheerful tone, if Elliott wanted to talk about it he would have done so by now. As Katsura entered the building, she turned her head around then sighed. This was in fact not the first time Katsura have been in this situation so the initial shock value was contained somewhat. "Alexis would love this" Katsura mumbled much to the amusement of Nyao who overhead her. "Hehehe, there's not enough black here, maybe Piedmon." "Isn't he more into theater?" "Oh right, I forgot. Maybe Makoto then?"
It seems like Katsura and Nyao have met quite a number of important people. Still though when a well dressed Dinohumon offered them a drink, a lighthearted situation happened. Nyao nodded politely and took a drink, then as Katsura was about to reach out Nyao whispered. (Pst, if Calysta finds out you're drinking alcohol, I'll be in trouble when we get home.) Katsura took the hint and took a soda for herself.

Perhaps MagnaAngemon was a better choice for this mission than Elliot had expected. Whereas other Digimon were being overwhelmed by the lavish atmosphere of Caritas, for better or for worse, the angel's monastic stoicism was helping him keep a cool head and a focus on his mission. He continued letting his eyes scan the horizon, trying to see if there were any suspicious characters currently snapping into action.
Currently, there wasn't any outright suspicious activity going on, but there was a butler quite eager to please. It couldn't have been so simple as the butler doing it, right? No, that was impossible. A poisoned drink would rack up way too collateral damage, especially when it was freely set out on a plate for customers to indiscriminately choose from. Elliot would probably bless his choice of drink later just in case, but surely this would be fine. He took what he was pretty certain was a water, smiling softly at the butler. "My thanks," he said, trying to remember if tipping was a thing in the Digital World or not. It wasn't, in Japan, right? How bothersome.
In the meantime, Elliot turned back to Katsura. "The Village of Beginnings?" he repeated, somewhat curiously. "Its been a while since I had last visited. What brought you and Maia there?"
As Elliot inquisitive gaze projected itself into the distance, a cheery voice sounded in his ear. And everyone else's, confirming he wasn't hallucinating.
"Hope you've been enjoying yourselves thus far! But, remember to get to work as soon as possible, okay?" Well, Kyo's voice surely seemed relaxed as she addressed the group. Maybe a little too happy? It was probably too soon to get tipsy already. "Do you see what I see? There's plenty to choose from!"
Indeed, there were various points of interest across Caritas', the HolyAngemon catching on quite a few on his first scan.
First, and probably the most obvious one; Yuu was near the bar alongside with Kyo; she was signing animately as the Astamon translated. They were talking to a group of three MetalMamemons while the five enjoyed some drinks.
Second. In the middle of the hall, there was a KingChessmon and QueenChessmon talking to MetalEtemon. Or rather, just the KingChessmon; he seemed to be pretty passionate in his mannerisms, and more a little irked when the MetalEtemon reacted by laughing him off.
And lastly, a lone Hackmon sitting at the far end of the same bar where Yuu, Kyo, and the Mamemons were "talking". He didn't look like he was doing anything suspicious but the guy stood out like a sore thumb due to the fact that his clothes weren't formal at all. In fact, they were just a cloak of sorts, that seemed to be somewhat dirty from wayfaring and even a like ragged.
OOC note: It's Appmon Hackmon, not the guy who evolves into Jesmon.
Amsel who had chosen apple juice as her drink of choice was about to tip the glass back to take a drink when their employer has spoken through the devices they had in their ear. Amsel was startled she almost dropped her drink but managed to hold on to it and not spill a drop. Her partner listened closely to Kyo as she pointed out a few people that they could keep a close eye on, Amsel, however, was looking in the wrong direction.
"huh I don't see anyone," she said slightly irritated, this caught her partner's attention, he sweatdropped and quickly turned his partner around so she was facing the right direction. "ohhhhh, ok well I and Ru-ru call dibs on the chessmon and etemon" she said with a large grin. She was sure they could handle that group, dorumon, on the other hand, looked a bit nerves, but none the less he would follow his tamer were ever she went. Who else was supposed to keep an eye on her?
Before the Dinohumon could get very far away, Katsura stopped him once again for a brief moment. "Umm I'm sorry, can I please borrow you for a second? You haven't noticed anything unusual today, right? It's my first time here?" That was Katsura's excuse to set up a situation where she got to pick Dinohumon before any of the other groups that Kyo later on suggested them to visit, fortunately for the others Nyao decided to focus her attention on the voice that came from Kyo that way at least one of the duo listened to him. Why did she pick Dinohumon you may ask? Well in his current job with serving welcome drinks and cater around the guests he had to visit every single guest at least once. Sure she might have to endure some rant about someone trying to get in when they weren't invited but every lead counts. Eventually she returned to hear Nyao repeat Kyo's instructions and to resume her conversation with Elliott. Elliott had just asked Katsura about why Maia and Katsura were in the village of New beginnings. "Umm I'm not sure why Maia came there but Nyao wanted to show me something, something about Digimon and where they come from. Did you know much Digimon are hatched there?"
At the same time, Nyao heard Amsel volunteer for talking with chessmon and etemon. "While I have no issues with talking to them first, I thought we just agreed to stay in the group, for that reason I vote that we all walk to chessmon and etemon now."

Elliot nodded slightly at Kyo's request. It'd be better not to respond, on account of the fact that he wanted to keep as inconspicuous as possible, but it was definitely a firm reminder to keep his eye on the prize. A good thing, too, because there were quite a few potential partygoers to talk to. While the frustrated looking KingChessmon was definitely of interest, so too was the rather quiet looking Hackmon. He seemed that he had come quite the long way, especially for an event such as this. It'd be nice if he got to have a little company after such a travel.
First, though, there was the matter of Katsura's question. "I did," he said, a slight smile spreading on his face. "Occasionally my brother and I helped out around there, whether to protect the village or to tend to its occupants every now and again. It was nice." A shame they hadn't had a chance to return before the incident.
It seemed Nyao wasn't too keen on splitting up, probably due to Elliot's own advice. However, the situation had changed quite a bit since then. "We should stay close enough to communicate, but it would seem strange to approach an ongoing conversation in a large group. It may be better to spread out for now and return later," he suggested.
With that advice he departed, moving towards the rugged-looking Hackmon. "Have you come a long way?" he asked, trying to get a gauge as to the Hackmon's current mood with a simple question.
Dinohumon reacted cordially to Katsura's inquiry, a calm smile gracing his face as she regarded the human.
"Well, this gala is pretty unusual for Caritas, but besides that, I can say that everything has going well thus far! Unless you mean something else? Would you mind elaborating? That way, I will be able to help you better."
At least he was proving to be quite willing to help. His gaze went towards the humans' glasses, as if to see if they wanted a refill. Thus far, everything seemed to be going well.Nothing suspicious came into Elliot's vision while he approached the Hackmon and addressed him, prompting the digimon to turn and face the MagnaAngemon with a friendly smirk on his face.
"I guess you could say that! My opinion on the matter, however? I think this world is a little too small for any distance within it to be considered long. What about you, Angel? Take Luminas ain't very far from this place, but there's no way for me to know about that, right?"
With an inviting hand motion, he motioned at the seat beside him. "I guess holy beings like a comfy chair and a drink, so why don't you take one? Despite my appearance, I can confirm I don't bite."
Not even waiting for Elliot's confirmation, he made a gesture to the Dinohumon behind the bar, and in what felt like the blink of an eye, a drink was already resting in front of the empty seat. "Don't worry! I know you holy types don't like alcohol that much; if you get drunk in this party, it won't be due that one, at least!"
Amsel stopped after hearing Nyaos words, it seemed like the Gatomon didn't want to split up yet, but if they moved around in a group they would seem suspicious. Amsel was about to voice her concern about staying together when Elliot spoke up, he suggested that they split up but stayed close enough in case something happens.
Amsel grinned and nodded"yeah that's a good idea," she said this time minding the volume of her voice, she didn't want to attract attention to their small group. "don't worry Nyao, it's just for a few munites" she assured with a smile. Amsel then moved on to the group she had targeted, her partner right behind her. she made sure walk gracefully and ladylike, her partner straightened up and acted like a personal servant.
Once they had approached the two chessmon and etemon Amsel gave a curtsy, "Hello, please forgive my interruption but may I join you all, It was getting very stuffy out In the middle of the room" she asked politely and added a cute charming smile. It was a complete one-eighty from the normally loud and annoying teen, Ru-ru was still always taken by surprise at how quickly Amsel could hide her personality when the situation called for it. Amsel was trying to pass as a well-off shy girl and Ru-ru her personal butler.
