Amsel and Ru-Ru were on high alert, they really couldn't see in the darkness so they had to rely on their hearing. Amsels brain was kicked into overdrive when she and her partner started hearing the unmistakable sound of gas leaking, this was bad. Amsel began to think up plans, but she was brought out of her thoughts by the kingchessmon talking to his wife about leaving. Amsels eyes narrowed, this time she was able to pick up the lack of concern.
Ru-Ru looked around, he could see just a bit better than his human partner in the dark , but he still had to rely mostly on his sensitve hearing. He too had heard the lack of concern coming from the Digimon in front of them, however, he tugged at his partner's arm. The dorumon for some reason could sense his partners need to want to follow the two Digimon if they did leave, but that would mean that they would be alone with them and could possibly be also lured into a trap. Amsel looked or tried to look at her partner through the dark, she then looked back to where she had last seen the kingchessmon and his wife. Amsel thought for a moment longer before squeezing his partners wrist, this caused the Digimon to sigh in relief, she had decided not to follow the pair alone.
Before they could decide what to do next, however, both Digimon and human heard a familiar scream, both had widened their eyes. Amsel and Ru-Ru wasted no time, the human grabbed onto her partner and in turn her partner started to sniffed around leading them to were Kat and was. It took every ounce of willpower in Amsel to not tare off blindly into the darkness in search of their new friend. They had been so preoccupied that they didn't hear the distorted message that came from the commlinks theirier ears.

Nyao looked around, darkness everywhere she looked. It wasn't possible to see anything and on top of that she had to push through one random stranger after another in her attempt to find Katsura. And much to her annoyance the voice from the microphone had yet to say something useful about the situation. Yes it was a technical error, yes they're probably working their ass out trying to fix it but at this point that wasn't news at all.
"Katsura?!" Nyao yelled loudly trying to locate her partner, in doing so she noticed an ominous sound, namely that of a gas leak. "Over here!" Katsura yelled back just as loud. Now Nyao wasted no time getting to Katsura and fortunately for her it seemed like Amsel and Ru-ru were also going to the rescue. Nyao noticed the duo. "She's over there." And so Nyao, Amsel and Ru-ru found Katsura still standing near the bathrooms. Nyao quickly grabbed hold on Katsura and studied every inch of her body. "Katsura? Oh Katsura it's you. Where did they hurt you? Are you sick? Do you have all your fingers? Who do I need to hurt for you?" "I'm fine... I-"
Katsura didn't get a chance to finish before the communication turned into statics.

Unfortunately, Elliot's gift was rebuffed. He figured that Hackmon could already see in the darkness, though, so he wasn't too bent out of shape about it. Instead, he immediately turned his attention to the scream that rang out through the hall. "As do I," he said, admittedly a bit happy to spring back into the role of being a hero. "Best of luck with yours." With that said, he gave a small wave to the Hackmon and prepared to make his way back to the familiar sound.
It didn't take long for Elliot to find the impending search party. He promptly feel in step with them, assuring the trio of Nyao, Amsel, and Ru-ru "Do not worry. It is just me," he said, figuring that sneaking up on a trio that had just been screaming about the darkness earlier was probably unwise. He also produced his cudgel once more, focusing to keep its glowing runes to a very small, subtle light. He wouldn't want to give their position away too badly, even as he offered it to Amsel. "Here. This may help with the darkness," he said, clarifying his intent.
At the very least, Elliot had been listening to Yuu's orders closely. "I think we are needed in the basement," he added. "Kyo seemed to suggest that was where the leak came from. I propose we move fast, too, in case we might be able to catch who had caused the cut." Who would be rushing to the basement besides them? Anyone else who was either was another would-be hero or putting themselves in quite the fishy position.
Elliot could only hope their investigation would be before anyone got hurt.

If the group kept standing where they were, not much of note would happen. For now, the gas would continue to permeate the atmosphere, slowly enveloping the whole venue, even if no ill-effects would happen.
If the group focused on the group of digimons, the reactions had been, overall, as varied as they came. Some just stood there, talking as if nothing was happening while others began to panic to find their way out of the nightclub. A decidedly small number just moved in quietly around, not exactly searching for an exit, but looking for something... else, maybe?
If Elliot paid attention to it, he'd notice how Hackmon approached his older brother and the two began to talk; not much else could be observed, but the two of them seemed to be pretty serious about whatever the topic was. The duo soon enough disappeared from sight, and into the thick smoke.

Both Dorumon and Amsel made it over to were Katsura and Nayo where at, the little German girl and Digimon just reached them in time to hear the conversation between her and her Digimon partner. Both Amsel and Ru-Ru immediately relaxed when they heard that Kat was alright. The young soldier in training walked up to Kat "that's good you scared us" she said with a chuckle, she was just happy that their friend was alright.
Ru-Ru sighed in relief however he was startled when someone integrated into their group, he nearly attacked but the voice that spoke up was familiar and he realized that it was only Elliot. The Dorumon once again sighed in relief, Amsel turned in the direction she had heard Elliot's voice"oh hi Elliot" she said.
Ru-Ru looked around, he sniffed and made sure not to lose the scent of the two Digimon he and his tamer were talking to, something about them didn't sit right with the fluffy Digimon.

Ironically, Nyao looked like the startled one right now and it wasn't until Katsura had reassured her that it was okay she calmed down. Once convinced that everything was okay, Nyao firmly grab hold on Katsura's hand. This caused Katsura to sigh so much for being independent and Nyao was already back to her excessive protective behavior. At that point Elliot was also coming to the rescue. "Oh hi, did you got something out of splitting up? Elliot then offered Amsel a glowing rune to use as light. Then Katsura listened to him. "Thanks Elliot umm right let's go to the basement then." "I'm done splitting up if we're going, we're going all together" Katsura and Nyao were ready to follow after Elliot to the basement and in all this Katsura still wondered, who was this mysterious accomplice of Mamemon? There was something about this scene that did not add up, come to think of it this happened right after he left strangely enough.

"I know there is a Diaboromon here on business," Elliot said in response to Nyao's question. He may have enjoyed his chat with a fellow younger brother, but when murder was on the cards everything needed to be put on the table. "I never had the chance to ask what sort. But he seemed serious about it, as did his younger brother."
Sure enough, Elliot could make out Hackmon and Diaboromon talking animatedly before dashing into the darkness. "And I highly doubt this is the last we are seeing of them, either. We may have allies here, or we may have competition," he finished. His wings twitched ever-so-slightly at the mention, a breach in Elliot's poker face. Frankly, a Diaboromon was heads and shoulders above the pay grade of those assembled here. If he proved hostile, this would end up really messy really fast. "And what have you four seen, so far?"
With that question, what else was there to say? Elliot stowed his cudgel away, letting its glow die down so their approach to the basement would be properly hidden. Now, with all potential worries accounted for and his allies informed, Elliot sighed deeply and began his descent into the basement depths.

The road to the basement would be a short one, mostly shrouded in thickening smoke and the occasional stumble into a digimon that was either headed the same way or away from it. By this point, it became pretty obvious that there was something. The question was... what?
A trap door was the last barrier between the group and their destination, and once opened, a series of stairs would be unveiled, and the eventual descent would lead the group to an ample room that apparently was... deserted?
Or would appear to be at first sight. At the very far side of the room, a strange machine hummed, and from it what seemed like... most of the smoke was emerging?
That was pretty strange in itself, given that there was no feasible way for the thing to just get out of the basement and into the Nightclub. Or... there was?

Amsel wasn't sure what to think about the trap door and the machine that was hidden in the room under the trap door. It made no sense yet somehow it was able to admit the smoke up to the nightclub. The German girl hummed as she looked the machine up and down, of course, she wanted a closer look but if this machine was being used by their target it could have some kind of trap on it to keep it safe.
This was an odd thing indeed, her partner digimon was right behind her, he was keeping a lookout for anything odd. Or an ambush attack, his ears twitched working overtime to catch any noise within the room.

"A Diaboromon is probably bad news." Nyao replied to Elliott. "Nyao!" "Sigh, sorry Katsura. I know you want to see the best in every single digimon." Katsura nodded to Nyao, the group then listened to Elliott as they walked towards the basement. "There's this Mamemon, by himself he's clear but he has some suspicious accomplices and a clear economic interest in a partnership with Yuu and thus by extention PROFIT." Katsura shrugged at Nyao's sudden detective enlightenment, following the bathroom drama she had just caused, Katsura had little to bring to the table right now. The travel to the basement was relatively uneventful and in there they found a trap door and a machine that seemly caused the smoke. Katsura stared long at the trap door, something about it made her uncomfortable. Nyao meanwhile was glaring at the machine when, Nyao was about to reach for her over-sized sword Katsura yelled up in panic. "Nyao! Wha-what are you doing?!" "I'm fixing the problem." "I don't even know electronics and even I can tell this is a bad idea." With a sigh Nyao let go of her sword. "Sigh, so now what?"

"I cannot say it is a very pleasant sounding name," Elliot admitted. "But it would be hasty to judge one by their form, would it not? I know my brother tends to have rather dark forms, and yet he is as dependable as they come. Meanwhile, my beast spirit . . ." Elliot shuddered as he thought about Gargoylemon. Its bright white scales and affinity with the light did nothing to change how vicious and destructive a provoked Gargoylemon could be.
Still, it seemed that Nyao also had some useful intel. "A suspect Mamemon, you say," he repeated. "I highly doubt Yuu would want to work with him if he got in the way of this investigation. Perhaps, if push comes to shove and the secret is already revealed, we could use that as leverage to ensure he behaves." Considering this was a top-secret mission, it wasn't a suggestion made lightly. However, a strange bedfellow could be a powerful asset if someone didn't see it coming.
For now, though, the large smoke machine in the basement was priority. Its arrival seemed to have been completely unnoticed, which judging by the rather linear path between the main room and the basement seemed quite implausible. However, Elliot had a feeling that it wouldn't be so clean cut. "I wish we knew what Digimon we were dealing with here," Elliot admitted. "Depending on the Digimon, it could have been tunneled in, phased through a wall, or even teleported. We should check for any other entrances to the room someone may have approached through."
He pondered for one more second, then turned to the tamers in the room. "Can any of you track the energy signature of a DigiPort?" he asked. With that last question asked he began searching the room for exits, keeping to the walls and running his hands along them to make up for a lack of vision at this moment.

Upon closer examination, the basement didn't seem to be any different from... normal basement, smoke machine notwithstanding. Thus far, the gas was proving to be harmless, yet that made its appearance all the more puzzling. What was the endgame in here?
That was probably something that would need further investigation. Clues were about to be given pretty, however! Even if a... pretty strange way, at least in a sense.
As soon as Elliot began to look for exits, a pretty low but definitive whistling sound began to resound around him. It didn't sounds like something concerning at first, but would begin to grow in volume the more he moved towards the far end of the basement. Similarly, any other beings that began to move there would listen to the same, even though every one of them would hear it as if the sound was centered around them, rather than in one point in specific.
And it would grow increasingly annoying the more they advanced.

Amsel hummed when she gave a scan at her surroundings, the basement seemed free of any traps at lest to her eyes. She slowly stepped in after Elliot, that's when she noticed the whistling sound that seemed to be around them. This was weird, the gas looked pretty harmless, but what was this odd whistling sound. Amsel stood away from the tank of gas deep in thought, her partner Digimon, however, started to walk closer to the tank.
The rookie level Digimon padded closer to the tank, he noticed that as he neared the tank, the whistling noise would increase in volume. Pretty soon the sound started to hurt his sensitive ears. The Digimon put his paws over his ears and began to walk away, the sound lessened much to the little guy's relief. Amsel looked at her partner then back at the tank, she had seen what had happened, was this sound a kind of defense for the tank was it to ensure that no one got close enough to inspect the tank.
Amsel narrowed her eyes, if someone didn't want others near the tank then something must be up with it, it may not be as innocent looking as it seems.

Katsura having regained some of her spirit sent Nyao a look after hearing Elliott telling Nyao that no you can't just declare a digimon evil due to its form let alone the name. Nyao however did not feel to discuss this right now so she just sighed. Besides it was far easier for her to discuss the situation with Mamemon.
"She doesn't, the partnership was refused once it became obvious he had other connections." In the basement Katsura and Nyao could hear a whistling sound which proved to be rather distracting. While keeping up the conversation, Katsura and Nyao walked around in circles trying to locate the source of this mysterious whistling sound. "I didn't know digimon could phrase through walls that's very interesting." "Right but it also makes it so much difficult to discern when they go in." "It just make me wonder, how do they breathe?" "Excuse me?" "I mean, air can't go through a wall." "Ugh this whistling noise is giving me a headache." How weird it must look to see them circling around not realizing that the noise was centered around them, no wonder they can't locate it.

The whistling sound was a clear deterrent from approaching. That meant it was probably against the interests of whoever left the machine here to start snooping closer. Even for one as composed as MagnaAngemon, though, it was very difficult to keep focusing. He cringed a little as he stepped too close to the large tank, and soon found his approach slowed entirely as he stooped down and plugged his ears. Not even that seemed to help. The sound seemed to come not from the tank but instead from Elliot himself, as if his body was a kettle about to overheat.
Relenting, Elliot started to double back. "I do not think we should approach without investigating first," he warned. "Something is not right about the sound. And I do not want any of us to get hurt. Please, allow me to test something first . . ."
He thought carefully for a second, then removed his hat. It was almost astounding how humanlike Elliot looked without it, his hair cascading gently around piercing blue eyes. However, that was far from the point of his unmasking. Instead, the point was for him to start testing the waters of this tank. He felt the heft of his hat in his hand, gauging the weight ever so slightly. He plucked a strand hair out of his head and set it upon the top of the hat, then lobbed it over to where the tank sat. He aimed to bring it as close to the tank as possible.
"If something happens to the hat, then we know approach is a bad idea," Elliot explained. "And if something happens to just my hair, we know it still is not safe for "living" data like Digimon to approach. But this should at least give us an idea as to whether it is safe to continue."
