It was clear that K was uncomfortable, but it was also clear that K felt she needed to watch this. Once the video started, the two observed in silence. There wasn't any point that the Mikemon added his own thoughts or detail. At least the first time through, he figured that the Renamon would want to witness it herself.
That, and the five minutes after, went on in silence. In that time, the feline kept a careful glance at K from the corner of his eye - otherwise, he left her alone to think. This was a lot to take in, a lot to think about at once. The only motion he made was to rest his own hand on top of the Renamon's glove - well, should she allow him to do that at all.
Soon enough, she spoke up, stating the GraceNovamon's idea in plain terms: either the Mikemon's manufactured core would have to suffice, or K would have to absorb an equally powerful Digimon tom bridge the gap. That second option was absolutely devastating to her, as was the entire ordeal. With a careful breath out, the Doctor explained it in fair terms:
"Gestation is just how they created you. Breaking the loop, well..." The Mikemon sighed. "Every time you Digivolve, you push the equilibrium one way or another, and the 'Vaccine' line tries to tug it back, like stretching a rubber band. But play with the connection too much - evolve too strongly in one direction, and..."
He sighed. "The cores escape, and you vanish. Without a core, that's how things are." Saying that, however, he firmed his grip around her hand. "I won't use a live core. It'll take a while, but I'll produce an artificial shell to use." The Mikemon understood the weight of his words - actually, why was he promising that? Something so complicated, so difficult, and yet he spoke about it in such casual terms. His gaze met the Renamon's eyes, the cat simply giving a confident nod. "I don't know what you're supposed to do with regards to them, but I know you know what you have to do. K, those cores aren't you..."

She didn't move, there was finality to how she seemed to sat there in the dreadful silence. She was going through thought trains in their entirety. She'd rub her temples after a few long devastating moments.
absorb a digimon strong enough to literally destroy the countryside.. Or cease existing. Or have this artificial core.. which might not even be enough.
She looked pale; she looked uncertain. Ontop of it all she just felt like absorbing another being wasn't going to be plausible. She'd have to find a vaccine powerful enough to do so... She doubted another virus type core or data type core would be innately helpful.
"I'm to mega tier. I've pulled so hard on this... loop already that no wonder the vaccine line is trying to keep everything together."
She'd frown slowly and stare at her hands. They were her hands. This was her body; but these cores weren't her. But they were where she was from... She let out a soft sight and rested her head against the table; her ears laying flat.
"Three cores. If I digivolve to supermega without the fourth core, I cease to exist because all three cores will leave? Or will just two? Does it really matter at that point..."
She'd grumble irritably and shake her head slowly, leaning back in her chair after a moment. She looked beyond cross.
"The problem is that the cores ARE me Mikemon. The fourth core is supposed to bring the balance to this loop or whatever. Which means It has to be just the right thing."
She'd consider something briefly and her frown deepened.
"....The GraceNovamon didn't suggest Digitization. But something tells me if I get digitized the same thing as breaking the loop occurs. The cores leave, and I don't come back."
Her expression screwed up and she'd growl.
"....What would happen if I got a virus or data core rather than a Vaccine core like it seemed to want?"
Then she paused and blinked.
"....Wait.. What did the other cores have to say about this? GraceNovamon can't be the only one that has a solution..."

What the Mikemon had said before was finally coming through: if Mikemon had kept this secret, she could have lived on in blissful ignorance. After all, the GraceNovamon and the other cores spoke in measures of years and centuries. Who knew how long it would take for these events to pass? Those thoughts teased the edge of Mikemon's mind as K's expression paled.
She was at a loss for words, skirting from thought to thought. K repeated the information given to her - that she had already pulled on the band by taking her mega form. That taking a super-mega form might be the end of her existence. That she came from these three powerful cores, who didn't entirely care if she continued to exist. The Mikemon listened, the Doctor's own ears flattened as K poked around at different ideas. What if she was just digitized? What if she found a different element core? What if there was another solution that the GraceNovamon wasn't letting them know about?
"GraceNovamon hinted that it didn't matter what kind of core it was - just that she would prefer it was Vaccine. Ultimately, you may be deciding who wins out on the equilibrium in the end. As hard as it is to say, well, I have no doubt in that core's intentions."
That was the only answer he gave to her questions, the same logical, level tone as it ever was. But in her frustrated state, the Renamon's ears flat, dejectedly leaning against the table, the Mikemon found himself unable to speak. Just what was he supposed to say to her? This was far different than any other diagnosis that he had seen before, but even so, it usually wasn't this hard for him to present bad news. Why was he even going this far?
Then it hit him. Before he could even catch himself, the Mikemon found his arms around one of K's. It took a moment for his heart to catch up with him, the feline shaking his head. "But you're not GraceNovamon, you're not just some pile of cores from an ancient world. That's..."
His words just failed him for a moment. Stuttering, he gave a 'tsk', and forced out his words: "That's not the K I fell for!"

"So the vaccine typing core wants control of the other two. Which simply means that it would be locked in as the primary core... Which I don't mind the idea of but.. I have a feeling we're two very different people. It feels like something bad might happen in all three cases"
She'd frown just a little bit and sigh softly. What was she really supposed to do? The super mega tier had been quite adamant about what it desired and with her knowing about it meant the other two cores knew about it... Which just made it more problematic. It'd obviously mean that the virus and data cores would eventually get absorbed into the two vaccines... Which would just combine into one big and powerful core.
But then if she did a data or virus the outcome would change in something else favor. Which one would allow her to be herself still? She wasn't sure. She jolted when mikemon put his arm around one of hers. It was an odd sensation that was a mix of comforting and agravating. Was he about to...
She paled dramatically and sighed softly, gently but firmly patting the cat on the top of the head.
"I'm not. Those three. I know. I'm some combination of them and I get to basically choose my end form. But if that's the case I need to do research on the individuals in question or have you take another look and maybe talk more to the three of them."
She'd shake her head slowly a long aggravated sigh escaping her.
"As... Touching as that is. Now is not the time for that sort of thing. I cannot in good confidence allow for either of us to partake in something like that until.. This is resolved."
She'd gesture at herself and blink noticing the bands for the first time.
"....I know that sigil."

Was it a good idea for the Mikemon to say something like that?
Definitely not. The Doctor knew this, which made his decision to say it anyway all the more baffling to him. K's face only paled, the Renamon keeping her focus on the situation at hand. Hearing her response, feeling that hand on the top of his head, Mikemon remained silent for a moment. Slowly, he gave a mental sigh, pulling himself away. "... My apologies. Definitely not the place for this."
He took a moment to shake his head, bringing his focus back to the situation at hand. If nothing else, the Mikemon's gesture managed to distract the two, both taking a step back to see the situation in clearer light. "No-one said that we had to use any of their types," the Mikemon reasoned. "Other than Vaccine, Virus, or Data, there's an option to produce a 'Free' element core. It could potentially keep it from siding with any one of them, though its hard to say if trying to keep the balance would upset it further."
That was one idea. But for the bands, the Mikemon blinked. "It seems familiar to me - doesn't it relate to a Holy line? Then again, might be the light throwing off my perception..."

There was another soft sigh and she'd slowly shake her head. She could tell that it was said in the moment, but was it serious? it wasn't something she really had time to think about currently. Too much was happening.
Her town was gone.
Her people were gone.
She was... some kind of anomaly in a triage of cores.
K rubbed her temples and then blinked when he mentioned something about a free element. She'd consider it briefly tapping her fingers on the table.
"We would need to know what would happen if a core with the free element was introduced. In some fashion or another. Talking with the cores more consistently might be a good idea; or at least the one I should work with."
She found herself hesitating and she'd look down at her hands.
"I need to Pick one of them, I need to do it quickly and I need to accept the results."
She'd look down at the band and find herself sighing again. She really wished she hadn't mentioned she knew that sigil.
"The sigil is of the Holy Knights, specifically one of them. One that I don't think they've seen for a very.. very long time?"

Well, not every idea was worth keeping on the table for long. As Mikemon brought up the idea, K instead reasoned that settling with one core would provide more stability in the end. In that regards, Doctor Mikemon gave a nod. "Tilting the scale in one direction is definitely more secure than trying to keep it balanced in three ways. Still, the matter of picking is tricky."
Would it even matter? Well, it mattered to K, and it sounded like the Renamon wanted to have someone speak to the cores again. To that much, the Mikemon scratched his head. "I can certainly look that deep in your data again, but its a fairly invasive process for how little I can do. I was able to talk back to them, but only in two or three word sentences. That said, I may know someone who could help you look inside, and speak to them yourself."
That much said, he cautioned: "Though, I can't guarantee every core even wants to keep you around, or would even be honest with you. With the information I have now, Vaccine is a safe bet." The doctor seemed confident enough in his words...
... But just what was this sigil? It belonged to a Knight - that much, the Mikemon could guess. "Curious. That would mean that one of your cores represents a past iteration of a Royal Knight? Small world, I guess..."

"All of them are... strange choices to have to think about. And it most certainly is. It can't be just simply decided else I would just pick."
She'd shrug softly and look down at her hands again. Virus. Vaccine. Data... or "free". If she could come to a general idea of which would be the best. Mikemon couldn't do much more than just little bits. She'd turn her hands over and frown slowly.
"If I can meet them and learn how to do that, it'd be better than me having to have someone do it for me. I can only imagine what would happen if.. well.. it went badly for you. They can after all, manipulate me being my cores and all... I wouldn't like it finding out I did something bad."
The frown deepens and she'd rub her muzzle thoughtfully.
"That's fair it might be a safe choice to go with it; but I need to know everything before I make a decision. Which one do you think was the one that glared at you?"
She'd stare at him for a few moments and she'd rub her muzzle again.
"It seems so. Would explain the three bands along with the 'head' of the sigil. I think the bands represent seat or power? So it was the third or something."
She'd look at her arm, the frown vanishing completely.
"...I don't think they'd want to have me vanish either, Especially if I agreed to work with them. Same with the Vaccine. It's quite possible the only one that wouldn't want to work with me is the Examon."

"Well, to be fair, there's not too much those cores are able to do to me, at least at the level I'm observing them at. At least, not directly." There was always the chance that one of them would temporarily take hold of K and tell the Mikemon what-for - after all, that was what the GraceNovamon tried to do. Still, they seemed to be winding down on options for now: the Mikemon drew a pen, and started to write on a scrap of paper.
Idly, he answered her question about the eyes: "Hard to say. I think both Jesmon and Examon's cores were watching me, regardless... I'd imagine the blue eyes might belong to Jesmon." With a click of the pen, he'd fold that paper in half, and hand it off to the Renamon. "Here's the address, for a spiritualist in Terminus. Guru's had another job, as of late, but you should still be able to catch him around the weekends." That was the Mikemon's solution as far as K meeting the cores herself.
But as for the bands? Idly, the Mikemon leaned forward, trying to pass his hands through the light. "Curious. Try focusing your energy, are you able to hide the signal at all?" The cat tilted his head. "Heading out into town with a holy symbol like that might not draw the best eyes..."

"That's a dangerous line of thinking Mikemon, You don't know if they could. They're Super Mega tier aren't they? We don't know what they could do."
She'd shake her head and stare at her hands, glancing over at the doctor when he wrote on the piece of paper. Her expression thoughtful and she'd nod when he mentioned that both the Examon and Jesmon were watching him. While he imagined the blue eyes might belong to the Jesmon itself. She found herself accepting the piece of paper and she'd stare at it for a long few moments.
"Jesmon. Examon. GraceNovamon... They all seem like beings so far down the road I can't even.. consider what they might do. What They could do. I NEED to do research on each of them, see what they're truly about. IF they're all ancient Digimon, they'll have something about them somewhere."
She'd scratch her head softly and exhale slowly. The paper contained the Address for a spiritualist in Terminus. Considering she had no where to go thus far, she might consider heading back there and informing her Contacts in the human world of her predicament. Aegis deserved to know what dangers she could posses in the future. As she could honestly feel the clock ticking.
"Thank you. I'm likely going to have to go to Terminus and then back to the Human world. I have some.. Associates that need to be informed of this. They may have some solutions; considering most of them are humans and have their own connections as well. They might even know where I Could go or do. The more advice and more people that are aware of the problem the better the end solution could be."
She shook her head again and then looked down at the bands. The frown spread on her lips and she'd close her eyes. She tried to focus, like she would with the saberk. Looking to draw energy away from that area and make the bands vanish.
Instead. Within her hands a Saberk Activated.
It did not look like a normal Saberk, it was straight and rigid, even lacked the blue coloration that a normal Saberk had. It almost looked like a holy blade you could expect from a Jesmon, but much much smaller. The Renamon would snarl and shake her heads, the blade vanishing as her focus demanded it.
"Confound it! No that does not seem to be the case... Ugh... What is the worst that could happen if they noticed the Symbol?"

Well, K's concern wasn't going to slip away so easily! Hearing her word of caution, the Mikemon gave a nod. "For the moment, they seem content to watch me. And from what we've seen, at least GraceNovamon prefers to handle matters more directly than a mental trick. Still, I'll keep my guard up."
The risk aside, K finally had a 'direction' set for this entire ordeal, and a pretty level plan at that. Knowing that she needed to know more about these cores, she'd consider not only the spiritualist, but contact as many of those she could trust as possible. And to that, the Mikemon gave a nod. "Honestly, its a good idea to get as many heads in this as you can. I'm a doctor, not a historian, spiritualist, nor a politician. We just have to hope something clicks by the end of this."
And that was really all there was to it, wasn't there? There wasn't much the Mikemon could add to the diagnosis, so he instead tried to tackle a comparatively smaller problem: the floating, glowing bands that surrounded the Renamon's arm. The feline took a step back as the fox focused, and... yup, that didn't work! He blinked, eyes examining that pristine, holy blade for a moment, before the attack itself would ebb away.
"Huh... but why would Jesmon leave a mark? Anyway," the Mikemon answered: "Not everyone's a fan of the Knights, and in general, having something that grand around your arm is going to have some people asking questions. Still, there's another way to go about this. Just one sec."
With that, the Mikemon would briefly leave the room. When he came back, he came back with a piece of film. "If its being projected from your arm, as opposed to just 'floating' up there," the cat reasoned. "Then the film will almost immediately get overexposed and go white. If that's the case, masking it is simple."
It was worth checking, at least: underneath the ring, the Mikemon held the film in place, just to see if anything would happen!

"They probably just don't know what to do with you, inaction I don't think is a good thing. And yeah... at least they're... Decent to deal with."
K would sigh softly and shake her head once more; this was getting messy. If the GraceNovamon hadn't done that she would of been in the dark absolutely. There was a skew of things that could of gone differently and a skew of things that could of gone so much worse too.
"Yeah.. if anything it'll be an interesting bout the whole way. Though while it's going on I doubt that I'll be able to rest very easily."
She'd gently tap the table, a frown spreading on her lips.
"Well GraceNovamon did seem to allude to this being the form he was cofined in? I think? Maybe with the knowledge of it... they decided to do something like this?"
There was a momentary pause and she'd blink.
"...Grand? I always thought they closer to myth's and such more than an actual.. Ugh... But I can imagine that being the case..."
She'd stare at the sigil and watch the mikemon go, she'd consider something again. Trying to focus like he had suggested; once again the Renamon was greeted by the Saberk. It wasn't how she had thought of it, which was really odd to her. She let out an exasperated sound and dissipate it again.
WHen the mikemon came back with the film and explained his reasoning K nodded. It made sense! If anything it'd make covering it up easier.. If not? Well she was going to be branded like this and she wouldn't be able to do much with the fact.
When the film was placed underneath the bands and sigil there was a moment of absolute inaction. The rings paused and almost seemed bothered by the fact that something had been placed underneath them... Before going back to their normal rotation. The film wasn't affected at all; it seemed perfectly fine.. other than being pressed against her arm.
".....I guess not..."

Strange - if GraceNovamon was truly the center core, then why was Jesmon's preference the current default form? Considering K's comment, the Mikemon muttered: "Come to think of it, Shutmon's line would be closer to Examon than anything else. Maybe we're just looking at patterns that aren't there, though."
There was definitely more than one possible explanation to this, but trying to force the current evidence into place wasn't going to help anyone. And thus he easily let the point pass by, and soon returned with the film. As K extended out her arm, he put the paper in place. Honestly, he half-expected it to work, but as a few seconds went by...
... Nothing! As K voiced her frustration, the Mikemon gave a sigh. Just to confirm, he plucked up the film and slipped it briefly through the ring, the black image quickly taking on a bright eggshell color. He soon flicked it to the bin: "Well, it's no big deal in the long run. I guess all we can hope is that the rings give you a hint or two. Who knows, maybe someone will recognize it?" A rare touch of optimism hung on the Mikemon's words, the doctor finally stretching his arms out in a yawn.
"That's about all I can think of, for now. I'll start preliminary work on an artificial core, but it sounds like you have your own legwork to do. Feel free to stay as long as you want. And, um..."
He shifted his eye contact a bit away from her. "About earlier... sorry."

"I guess so? it's possible that is the case, but.. We won't know until later for certain."
She'd shrug and look down at her arm again. She seemed irritated by the fact it wasn't going to be easily hidden. She'd gingerly run her finger through it and the image distorted for a moment before going back to normal.
"Yeah, it's just a symbol after all. I just hope any hints that it'd give would eventually just turn into flat answers. If someone DOES recognize it.. well. It'll be a toss up if it's good or not, with how everything is transpiring.. I'd imagine the former is more likely. Karma and luck after all."
She'd nod gingerly when he mentioned that he had preliminary work to do for the core; she'd slowly stand and rub her neck. The legwork would be running around like an absolute madman trying to find more answers... Then his apology and she'd sigh wistfully.
"It's fine... Time and place was just wrong. But thank you."
She'd give him a small smile and stretch, grunting softly as she considering something briefly.
"I wouldn't mind staying, but... We still don't know who is responsible for the Town. I don't want that happening here. As they say.. So much to do.."
She'd gaze at the door, a frown crossing onto her lips.
"....It's odd really. Not too long ago I thought myself to perish in the inn years and years from now... Now? I'm searching for answers on so many different levels. Broke past some self imposed limits... and I guess found friends I never knew I'd have."

"Well, if nothing else, its a convincing piece of evidence to show when you're trying to explain your predicament." That was really the only practical advantage Mikemon could see from the mark, other than perhaps providing a small amount of light when the power went out. Still, K definitely had quite the road ahead of her, and she seemed ready to start the long sprint down it!
As K reminded Mikemon of the town, the cat gave a nod. "I'll put in a proper request to have the area investigated, and see if there's any rocks they'll be able to turn over. For now, though..."
Indeed, things changed quite a bit for the Renamon - and a lot of those things that changed were not in ways the fox would have liked. Taking a moment to think, the Mikemon gave a nod. "If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see what lies on the other side of those answers." Medically speaking, K's condition was quite fascinating - put to a proper digital hospital, and the fox would be an overnight celebrity!
"Well, take care. Though this time, I recommend taking the station out to Terminus."
