Honestly, thank goodness that K managed to recover so quickly, and thank the lord that the LadyDevimon didn't think to try and go after the cat. Mikemon was still in dire straits, the doctor's arms hugged around each-other as that crackling energy continued to pulse through his form. He didn't call out, though: he didn't want to detract from CresGarurumon's anger, nor from the mega's concentration.
The LadyDevimon spat, the mega's anger returned by the ultimate's frustration. The chain easily snapped, but K decided to go for a rather wide swing - just what did it hope to do with that pole-arm? It would have been next to impossible to dodge to the left or the right, or even backstep - but this guardian had another idea. Her clawed arm tensed, the nails meeting to a point. She stepped in and aimed forward, aiming to drive that claw straight towards the mega's midsection. It would put her in line with the pole of the weapon, rather than the blade - and long before it threatened her side, that spear would rush in, intent on driving the weapon straight for the beast's gut!
Indeed, the MagnaAngemon didn't have much option to attack - pulling in an entire Poiseidon Force, even with such an absolute defense, took a great amount of focus to maintain. Until the gate vanished, he wouldn't be able to move -
- And that was just the moment that Casimeir had targeted! Just as the gate would start to vanish in a red cloud of data, a bladed tornado would pull itself right through, right on track with the MagnaAngemon's center. There was little it could do other than take the attack head-on: the Great Tornado would blast its way straight through the angel's chest, leaving a gaping hole in its center. Just a mere moment later, the angel would fragment, dissipating into a bright fizzle of light!
One might think it was a technique, but like with the Andromon, it seemed the guardian simply 'ceased to function'.
Not only could the Seraphimon swing his blades, he could stand toe to toe with the Ronin's pace. It took one weapon instead of two, and blades that were 'cheated' to always have the stability of his forearms, but he was able to keep on pace with the Ronin.
Or... maybe slightly ahead? Oh, no, not at all. Showing disrespect to disrespect, the Kajunemon decided to not even fight seriously, taunting him with one blade, as if to show he only needed half his strength for this. Little matter - the off-stance allowed the Seraphimon to push, bouncing that blade for a little distance.
And a moment later, those wings would spark, electrical energy moving to crash around the fox in one fell swoop! Should it land, or even seem to land, he'd aim to stab a sword through the center of the stunned fox!

K didn't really have time to think about mikemon, she didn't have the time to check if he was okay. The fact he wasn't moving very much as it was certainly was worrying enough to her.
The sound of breaking metal let her know that the chain was no longer a threat. It told her that the LadyDevimon couldn't really grapple others immediately; she'd likely have to pull out another length of chain or perhaps heal the one that she just had broken by the mega.
The shifting of the ultimate, along with their following attack was met with absolute harshness. There was an immediate response when the ultimate stepped in; the large digimon let go of the polearm, reached out to grab the LadyDevimon around the neck. She cared little for the pricking of the ultimate's claws against her gut. It was armored well enough to take a blow from such a opponent. In fact it seemed to affect the beast very little.
If her grapple was successful she'd immediately follow up with slamming the LadyDevimon against the ground neck first. Only to follow up with her other fist slamming into the LadyDevimon's chest right about where the creature's core was. She wasn't about to play fair especially when an ally lay only a few feet from the fighting duo.
Battle log: -LadyDevimon's claw attack struck the CresGarurumon gut!
Passive OathSworn: Any Virus Type 25% less damage to this digimon...

The MetalGreymon drew a heavy sigh laden with sadness. Despite the notion that these guardians were simply some kind of antibody system for the prison, they showed some semblance of life just like any other Digimon. Were they truly alive at some point? Or were they created simply to function as defenders? The Mega gently touched down on the platform with his eyes locked on John.
"This seems off, John," he relayed. "These Digimon we're fighting don't appear normal. I don't even think that they have cores of their own. They just...cease to be."
"It's okay," interrupted John. "I've noticed it, too. But we have to stay focused for now. Let's go help K and Mikemon!"
With a solemn nod, the WarGreymon allowed his partner onto his back. From there he bounded across the invisible platforms back toward the remaining bout. John had a moment to admire the CresGarurumon and Mikemon holding their own. "So that's K's Mega form, huh? That's pretty cool." He did not have long, though, for the pair already closed the distance.
The man didn't even need to be told to hop off of the WarGreymon's back while Casimeir entered the fray without skipping a beat. Kicking off with his right foot, the WarGremon rose into the sky by using his own momentum. With his gauntlets before him, he concentrated, drawing in energy from the atmosphere into a molten orb of power neraly three times his size. "Terra Force!" He rose it above him and soon after hurled it at the LadyDevimon as a precaution in case K missed her mark. "K, move!"

Just as Kajunemon decided to taunt, the Angel took the bait and swung to strike the blade. The cursed blade went flying in the opposite direction as Kajunemon watched it land blade first into the ground. He looked back at the Seraphimon, extending both his arms in an almost shrug;
"Show me a good time, then."
Just like that, it seemed without the sword the fox was faster, side stepping the attacks from the wings and giving enough ample room to ensure that it didn't connect with him. Then as the attack was finished, the Angel rushed forward with his blades, looking to impale Kajunemon clean in his midsection. Instead, the weaponless fox tucked his arms in and began bobbing and weaving like an expert boxer. He looked to trap on of the arms, with his own free arm and deliver a powerful punch square in the center of the Angel's helmeted face!
Even as the Angel would swing, he might become frustrated by how the fox was slipping around his swings and returning the attacks with quick, yet powerful punches that would more make the Angel angry and cause confusion than actually grievously wound him.
Maybe now the Seraphimon understood, maybe now he could grasp that while he might have been adept at close range fighting. It was Kajunemon's element.

It seemed that K had been done playing games at this point: the LadyDevimon's ordinarily powerful spear left but a small scratch on the OathSworn's armor. Left skidding in place, the guardian's neck was quickly caught by that powerful hand, a panicked expression on her face as she was immediately thrust down!
A muffled scream left her throat at the second hit - and between the two megas, this mere Ultimate simply wasn't going to last long. If K had managed to get out of the way, that Terra Force would burn its way straight through the LadyDevimon's fallen side, the entire creature vanishing in a hiss of black smoke. The battle, though short, had been a risky affair to all those involved...
... And to a certain doctor, there was a price to pay for his desparation. "Ugh..." Their guide up to this point gave a stagger, barely managing to drag himself back to one knee. Even physically, it seemed his frame had suffered some sort of injury, both of his calves having been burnt in the 'Chaos Blast'. Gritting his fangs and holding his complaints, the Mikemon brought the totem in front of himself, and worked to repair the hole in the bandaging. A moment later, he'd silently wrap his arms around the package, and first look over to John, then to K.
Everyone was still here. Everyone was safe. And they had about an hour to get out of here. As he tried to move, though, his body protested, the cat shaking his head.
"... ----ing hell. Someone's gotta carry me." Damn it, and now he was dead weight!
Was that his plan, then? With that reckless sword blown away and left in the middle of the court, the Kajunemon pressed his way forward, making use of a more refined 'fighter' style that relied on his arms. It seemed good in theory, and a way to get around those active wrist-blades...
... Though, wasn't that a little too straightforward? The Kajunemon tried to push past an arm, and moved to make a powerful blow right back at his face. Between his arms. A fool might have tried to use the blades to catch... but why would Seraphimon be considered a fool? No: he instead brought both of his arms around in an effort to pin right across the center of the Kajunemon's back, to pin him against his arms and his armor. If he could, he would hook under an arm to try and strengthen the grapple. Yes, the blow made his helmet rumble, but Kajunemon might have even felt his own blow ring hallow.
Well. That's what would happen when someone just tried to headbutt your fist!

K felt a small welling of pride as the LadyDevimon was slammed into the ground and had to cope with the metal fist to her chest. She'd jerk her head in response to Casimeir's call out and immediately jumped to the side her speed making it easy to get out of the way for this powerful attack the other mega had.
There was a moment where the mega watched the LadyDevimon vanish before quickly running over to the Doctor. She'd quickly scoop up her spear with one hand; watch the doctor patch the bandaging on the totem before quickly picking up the doctor up with her free hand. She'd carry him something akin to a child with one arm making sure to cover his injured state with as much armored 'arm' as she could.
"Done and Done. Let's get out of here before we overstay our welcome."
The CresGarurumon turned to look at Casimeir and john giving them a nod as thanks before starting down the hallway. They were in a race against time after all; they had what they came here for and needed to to leave as fast as they could. There would be no point going down to ultimate after breaking out the big guns.
"If we're lucky Vicktor and Genesis will be fine and have dealt with the guards. If not we'll lend a hand to them if we can before making our way to the blimpmon."
Sure it was a good run to the outside portion, but what was five minutes to the two hours they had spent getting to this point?

John exhaled in reprieve, nodding along to K's notion to leave the premises. "Well, we have two Megas in the party now. So the rest will be a piece of angel food cake!" John's face clouded with self-disappointment due to his pun. "Sorry. I couldn't resist."
Casimeir groaned. "Now, John? Of all times?" His scolding was half-hearted with a hint of amusement. "Hop on and let's get out of here. Once we get out of this chamber, we can fly again."
Finding the correct pathway back to the outside would have proven to be nigh impossible if not for the scorch marks and rocks on an otherwise invisible surface. WarGreymon was much more nimble than his bionic previous state, and faster as well, having less mass to deal with. With close to an hour left for their escape window, all John and his partner could pray for was no more distractions.
"Think we'll be marked as outlaws for this?" Asked John, rather sincerely. "I'd hate to be hunted down any time I was in the Digital World." His head swiveled toward Mikemon with Casimeir keeping pace with CresGarurumon. "Actually, that reminds me. Who will be receiving the totem, anyway? You said it was going to be saving someone's life."

Perhaps a less experienced grappler might have panicked or even allowed this ‘bear hug’ to go unanswered. But the Seraphimon was not so lucky. Kajunemon simply braved against his metal chest with his forearms, pushed with the gained leverage and in one, violent motion, he would gyrate his hip and plant his feet, then toss the armored angel clear into the wall near the temple! It didn’t really matter if the Seraphimon strengthened his grip or not, they were of equal strength and leverage was what won a clinch.
Kajunemon would go to pick up his sword, pulling it from the Earth as he sighed angrily, then brought the blade around;
”No more games. This ends here and now.”
With that, Kajunemon took a step then rushed forward at his familiar blinding speeds! Looking to ‘disarm’ his opponent by slicing at the links in his armor, hoping to sever his hand from his wrist, should that happen, the Fox would do an expert spin and press his back against the Angel’s chest, attempting a reverse stab. If he didn’t manage to separate his hands, he’d continue his clash, trying to tire the angel out!
No doubt his friends were finishing up soon. He needed to end this quickly!

Thankfully, CresGarurumon was more than willing to take up that request. With the spear recovered with one arm, the feline was scooped up in the left, his own paws wrapped right around the redoubled bandaging of Lucemon's totem. K was straight to the point, as Mikemon's ear twitched at John's pun.
"... I'm just going to let that one slide because there's no time to lose arguing about it..." Muttering to himself more than anyone else, the cat quickly found himself in a more observational role. Thankfully, the damage and markings done to this room, as well as the one before, made it fairly easy to make their way back to the bottom of the staircase, just one climb up to get back to the island. Hopefully Viktor and Genesis were accomplished with their part, but in either case, they would have to make their way back to the lower levels.
Or, well, try and leave the island by flight, but that would have its own challenges. Would they be outlaws? "The Empyrian Skies is already known for its strict laws, so the 'surface world' no longer accepts their criminal postings. Doing something in Whitewater might have you arrested in Terminus, but not if you did something in the Skies." That was convenient enough - but as for the second question?
"It's a benefactor receiving a core transplant. They already don't want their names publicized, so I can't risk that." No point saying that the CresGarurumon carrying him was the patient, right? That secret aside...
... Kajunemon would find that leverage wasn't exactly a 'static' thing. The assumption that he was even able to 'plant his feet' was already supplanted by the fact that he was in a bear hug - a simple lean back plucked those feet from the ground, giving him much less power than he would have preferred. The torque would be enough to push the Seraphimon back a yard or two as the grapple broke - but not before wrenching at that arm, leaving a serious red burn at the point of contact, simply from friction.
Thus, he wouldn't be nearly as out of wits, as the Ronin went to reclaim his blade. What was this - another frontal attack?
"Aegis." Once more, with a simple wave of his palm, that translucent barrier appeared before the Seraphimon, indicated only by one line of sheen. Running headlong into it, though, would feel the same as smashing against a concrete wall - and any efforts to move around it would make the fox's approach somewhat more predicable!

"Hopefully. Stay on guard, we're not through this yet."
K wasn't exactly the one to acknowledge puns; she understood they were good for lightening the mood but they needed to stay serious. They couldn't get ahead of themselves; the end of the mission would be the most dangerous and if they weren't careful they could fail.
At the questions that John asked K shook her head with uncertainty. Did that really matter? If they were marked outlaws by luminas would they really care in the end? The answers that Mikemon gave to them quickly put those questions to rest and the CresGarurumon could stay focused on the route ahead. Too much chatter would be a bad thing; they should be careful and quiet.
However upon arrival to the courtyard K was immediately graced with the Sight of Kajunemon fighting a Seraphimon. The fact that one was an angel and the other was a fox was more than enough for the CresGarurumon to put two and two together. She'd grit her teeth and not stop her motion, eyes swept the field and locked onto the hole in the ground.
Is that our escape? Or is that our death?
There was a moment where she looked absolutely uncertain but it was gone as fast as it came. The CresGarurumon didn't want to draw attention to itself, but the sound of metal coming out from the temple would immediately give them away. They'd become targets and then fall flat on their faces against the might of a Super mega. Mega's or not they were still the small force here. So what did the Cresgarurumon do?
She ran for the hole, one arm cradling the incapacitated Mikemon while the other gripped the Polearm tightly. She spun her polearm looking to parry any physical attack made by the Seraphimon towards her or her charge. She just hoped that the other super mega would be able to deal with them. If not, the mega's might have to step into the fight and that would be a losing battle as K was holding the Mikemon. She wasn't sure how comfortable Casimeir would be with fighting something at super mega tier but she certainly hoped that they would run interference if it so desired to attack them because of their cargo.

Casimeir and John both found their respective breaths taken away by the sheer numbers of guards waiting for them upon their arrival to the courtyard. Both could only assume that this force was a response to the party's initial entry to the temple. But luckily enough, the guards and soldiers were preoccupied with the battle that which stemmed ahead of them between the two Super Megas.
The WarGreymon halted in his tracks by the temple entrance. K, on the other hand, trudged on to make her escape attempt with Mikemon and the totem. "Damn it," John muttered. "What do we do now? We can't just let him fight this battle alone."
Casimeir's emerald gaze threatened to pierce the helmet of Seraphimon as he studied the opposing Super Mega. "It feels like the battle has been going on ever since we entered the temple, to begin with. If that's the case, our friend has been holding his own. Still. It won't hurt to help him out." The WarGreymon craned his neck to look at John. "Stay here, and stay low."
John hesitated. He would hate to witness his partner become overwhelmed. Still, he had to put his faith into Casimeir's abilities. The human quickly dropped to the ground and retreated closer to the doorway to remain out of harm's way.
Casimeir rose himself into the air while creating a shimmering firey orb of energy like before against the LadyDevimon. Raising it high once it reached its peak, the WarGreymon threw it hard like a volleyball toward Seraphimon. "Terra Force!" At the very least if the attack missed, it would hopefully cause a big enough explosion to cover a large area with dust and smoke more than Agumon's Pepper Breath ever could. At the very least, he could provide cover for Kajunemon.

After their grappling session and Kajunemon effectively broke the clinch, the Angel left his mark with a simple friction burn that did little more than made the fox roll his eyes. At least he scored a hit?
When Kajunemon went to recover his blade, he was under the assumption that the Seraphimon was here to fight now. That he was ready to actually commit to a real fight. Instead, as he made his next assault, Seraphimon went back to hiding, placing a barrier between him and Kajunemon. A simple waiting game. He dug both his heels in the ground and cane to a stop, leaning slightly against the barrier as to stop the rest of his momentum. The fox shook his head, placing a fist on the barrier;
”To what end are you attempting to accomplish with this? You already waned once and needed to use your own guard to supplement your power. Your strength will fade well before mine.”
Kajunemon brought the blade around and struck the barrier, testing it. Then nodded, seeming to understand something as he tested a few more stabbings at the ground, until he found it’s edge. From there, he dragged his blade in the dirt, to create a clean, visible line to the hole that the Seraphimon created. An about-face allowed him to examined the visibly drawn line as he held up his right thumb with one eye closed. He gave another nod, then sheathed his blade and simply jumped down the hole!
Perhaps he figured that if the Angel wasn’t going to fight, he wouldn’t entertain this. He would be more than safe to glide to the land below, given he could fly. With a pressing time limit, he didn’t have much choice, apparently!

Was the Kajunemon's taunt even worth words? Raising defenses in the middle of a fight was regular practice - and even if it didn't have the intended result of breaking an opening, it still allowed the Seraphimon to prepare his blades to defend once more, resetting the momentum to a neutral stance.
That was, until the Ronin did something quite interesting - he made a direct bee-line for the hole! The angel's gaze flickered in realization, and as the Super Mega attempted his escape, he noted that the others had started to break free from the Temple, piercing through the guard. A Wargreymon was staring him down, while the CresGarurumon charged for the hole himself. And in the grasp of the kitten inside the armored Digimon's grasp was a single package...
"You shan't escape!" That prepared 'Aegis' was enough for that fireball that tore through: the attack would be suspended in place by that invisible barrier for a moment, a single flick of the angel's hand upward sending that Terra Force sailing into the sky! Just the brief second bought by that fireball would be useful enough, though - it allowed both Kajunemon and K to make their escape. But it didn't mean the angel wouldn't follow: kicking from the ground, he made his own way towards that opening, a dirt trail flicking up in the ground behind them...
As for the Mikemon? Well, he was defended by that armored gauntlet, the sound of angelic blasts rocketing through his ears. He grit his teeth, as K made her way through that escape point from earlier. All he could do now was trust in her plan... though his gaze widened as the angel appeared, chasing after them!
"Strike of the Seven Stars - Bombardment!"
His target was no longer the Kajunemon - at least, not primarily! Left in apparent free-fall, the angel's seven stars appeared around him, each sending a strong ray of light downwards, three blasts intent to surround CresGarurumon, with one aiming to pierce right through her back! The other three were meant to screen Kajunemon away. So long as they could reclaim or destroy the totem, none else would matter!
Log: Though the watches tick, prior time becomes irrelevant. Time to impact in free-fall: 3 minutes at current altitude.
Seraphimon uses the prepared 'Aegis' to deflect Terra Force! Seprahimon pursues the two down the hole, and uses 'Bombardment' in an effort to eradicate the target!

K was graced with the fact that the Terra force distracted the the Seraphimon for that precious second. Her slide was finished off with her falling into the hole. A moment later the fox followed suit and then the angel. Their cry about them not escaping was something she wished that she hadn't heard; this made it even more crucial that they escaped even during a fight.
As they fell she wouldn't look back as she didn't need to see to know what was behind them. It was first kajunemon, then the angel and if John along with Casimeir if they decided to follow suit. They might just make a beeline for the blimpmon to get them started. She didn't know that much and wasn't about to factor them in until she heard another attack from the pair.
The Cresgarurmon didn't just let herself free fall; she'd kick off from place to place to help speed herself up. Upon hearing the attack she had to assume the worst and during one of her jumps she'd curl around the mikemon. Protecting him the best she could. The instant she assumed this defensive posture it seemed as though some otherly world force was there. Guarding her and her charge, along with the Kajunemon and even the angel! Hell even the totem...
"HE HAS FLOWN TOO CLOSE TO THE SUN MY FRIEND. MELT THE WAX."
Was the last thing she bellowed out before the Seven stars bombardment struck her. But rather than pierce through the Cresgarurumon as intended it was stopped somewhere in the middle of her body. The back layer of her armor was gone and a large chunk of herself had been blasted away. The force of that attack however meant another thing.
She was falling even faster now.
Log: With the Angel following them K uses Ten fold defense in response to hearing them call out their attack. She is struck for a large portion of damage but manages to stop it from going through her and to her charge.
Ten Fold Defense: Taking a defensive posture this digimon reduces it's taken damage by all sources incredibly. In fact so much so that any attacks in the area, friend or foe deal less damage completely wether or not this digimon is the target. This may be used for a single post and has a three post cool down.

John and Casimeir did not waste any time at all to pursue their friends and their troublesome foe through the hole in the ground. John was the first to take his leap of faith without hesitation. The first emotion which John experienced wasn't fear, however, while he watched the Digital World below the swirling white clouds. It was wonder. He couldn't feel fear, as having full trust in his Digimon partner played a major role in that. His faith would quickly pay off as soon as the WarGreymon lowered himself below John while the two remained in a freefall.
John attached himself to Casimeir, who promptly targeted the Seraphimon. The angel was proving to be a major issue, and now, the Seraphimon made an attack against K and Mikemon. It was when the CresGarurumon. K's shout met the pair's ears. For a moment, John furrowed his brow at her words. What did she mean? Then it hit him. "Melt the wax...Wait! The story of Icarus!"
"What's that, John?" Casimeir kept his eyes on the Seraphimon, keeping his distance for now. He hung on John's response, eager to hear what he had going on in his mind.
"There's an Ancient Greek story," John began, "about a boy and his father who made wings of feather and wax to escape a prison. But the boy, Icarus, flew too close to the sun and the wax melted, causing him to plummet." John's gaze locked onto the Seraphimon's wings. He leaned forward to get closet to Casimeir's ear. "Aim for his wings, Cas."
"You got it." Call it redundant, but the armored Mega-level Digimon raised his arms above his head. Announcing his attack would no doubt alert his opponent and jeopardize the well-being of the others. "Time to melt the wax."
The muscles of Casimeir's arms flexed whilst he created his signature energy ball from the atmospheric energy. Being so close to the epicenter of the attack caused John to shield his eyes due to the intensity of the light. Casimeir's Terra Force provided a suitable placeholder with the sun itself being blocked by the island. With the attack now charged to capacity, the WarGreymon threw it as hard as he could so that to may connect with Seraphimon's back.
