Sighting the Spears [K/Josh]

Logan had never travelled by sea before. So when Tadao told him that they were going to take a ferry from Whitewater to explore a new region, he had been absolutely overjoyed, bouncing around like an excited puppy, his bushy little tail wagging wildly under his coat.
They embarked the ferry the next morning at Whitewater Harbour. It was a sturdy sea catamaran. Not as fast as a normal boat, but sturdy and safe for travel through the sea. They would be heading west today from Whitewater, through the Macro Ocean and landing on some newly discovered islands that were off the coast of the Western Flatlands.
Tadao had found the story rather interesting when he had last met with Sophie, the leader of AEGIS. Apparently she had received word from her brother Colin that he had briefly landed in the islands and had received a warm welcome from the native digimon there - consisting of dragon and beast digimon that lived on the rich fertile coastal plains under the shadow of a rather active volcano. There were several other islands in the region like that.
These islands were named the "Spears of Megiddo", so named for their tall, imposing volcanoes, many of them active. While Tadao was at first nervous about the possibility of eruptions and earthquakes, well, he was from Japan after all. This wasn't anything new for him. So, when Sophie suggested he go visit there if he wanted, Tadao took up the offer. Sophie couldn't go herself since she was busy opening up the new AEGIS headquarters.
The voyage had been a rather long one, and the sun was beginning to fall to the west of them. But, after a few hours and a good lunch inside the ferry cabin, Tadao and Logan were sitting on the bow deck, the breeze rushing past them, the seas were gentle, and the sun was high. It was a wonderful idea to travel here, Tadao thought. And safe too, a trio of Seadramon and Megaseadramon being their escort on the high seas, given that it could be a somewhat dangerous place.
And soon, they saw the islands ahead. No wonder they were called "Spears". Tall, pointed mountains stretching high into the sky; the islands around them lush and green with forest; a contrast to the barren wastes of the mainland hundreds of miles to the east.
"Seems like we'll be making port soon" Tadao told his partner, who was standing up on his seat, resting on the railing of the boat, watching the water.
"Yay, I can't wait!" Logan said, excitedly. While the voyage had been nice, the Offmon was getting a little bit bored. But at least they'll still have some hours left in the day to explore, even if it might be better to wait until tomorrow. With that, Tadao glanced around at the other passengers aboard. There seemed to be some other humans, and a bunch of digimon as well. He wondered what they were doing in the islands? The same thing as him?

Of the two times that the shutmon had been to the western flatlands, one was more for recreation and general pleasantries while the other was combating some form of dark spire that had cropped up in the valley of the dragons. While she doubted the immediate appearance in such a new area it didn't hurt to give the zone a quick look over. Especially when she heard about this area from a few of the vistors that had already gone to it.
They seemed to speak highly of the beuaty of such a dangerous place; of all the digimon and creatures that had made their home here. While the zone was new to many a mon it was also home to many an other that never knew anything else. It wasn't much a surprise to her to find that there was even a ferry that went to the location in question.
With the price being reasonable and the general crowd manable the Shutmon made her way to the bow of the ship. She wasn't one for interacting too much on such a course of travel. As the last time she had attempt to do so ended up in tragedy of losing the trailmon she had been on.
Thankfully though she didn't have to worry about that here, she only had to worry about the mess the waters would be if this vessel sank. The negative thoughts continued to pile on and she found herself smacking her head to push them out. Crossing her arms the Shutmon would stare out into the open water, the frown that had been making it's home on her face vanishing in exchange for a more thoughtful and pleased expression.
Her thoughts turned a lot more pleasant at the idea of finding nothing wrong with the location; and ultimately finding a peaceful location within this mess of dangerous region.
As pleasant as her thoughts were, and as optimistic as she was being she was brought to the grounded scope of reality by the sound of two very familiar voices. Her ears perked and she'd turn her head slowly; her ice blue eyes widening a bit at seeing both Tadao and his partner logan.
"Huh..."
She'd blink owlishly and pad over quietly, unsure if they had spotted her or not. It was possible that they hadn't and that they were here of their own accord. Were they here for the adventure like so many others? Perhaps they were here for something much more deep. She liked to think of the latter as humans were incredibly fascinating creatures.
"Fancy seeing the both of you here again. Doing well I hope?"

Josh looked out over the railing, a heavy backpack slung over the adult tamer's shoulders as he pondered to himself, a little concerned. It seemed that this area of the digital world had changed a great deal from when he had last visited, something he was unsure was a good thing or not.
The tall tamer stretched a bit, walking past some of the digimon who were taking the ferry. He wasn't too concerned with the passengers, although he was pulling in a few odd looks. He knew most regular inhabitants of the digital world were used to seeing children, not adults, and especially not those built like he was. One had even asked if he was a new champion type, which had made him chuckle.
He stopped, a pair of fuzzy arms wrapping around his leg as Belph, the younger of his twin digimon and a Bearmon, hid behind him, a little worried about the crowd of digimon. He'd always been the shyer of the pair, having been separated for a long time and his data above rookie corrupted. Josh rubbed his head, looking for the more boisterous of the pair.
Leo, Josh's long term partner and older of the two twins, Was seated on the cabin roof, scanning the horizon. Currently an Elecmon, his tails twitched as he noticed Josh and Belph, The digimon grunting as he slipped his backpack on before jumping down and making a few digimon nearby jump. He made his way over as the group headed towards the front of the ship.
Josh could see their destination ahead, and while he knew a lot of passengers would be gathering their stuff to disembark soon, it would probably be less stressful for Belph if he waited till it was quieter. He took a seat near to the two digimon and the tamer talking at the front of the boat.
"Hope you guys don't mind us waiting here. Belph doesn't do well in big crowds." Josh apologized, digging through his bag and pulling out a packet of chocolate digestives, offering everyone one. "It's been a while since we've been to the digital world, so we're trying to work out what's changed since then." He said, glancing over at the towering spires nearby.

Tadao looked up with a bit of worry when the big digimon approached, but, then a feeling of familiarity washed over him as he realized who it was. "Ah, hey there, K" he said, remembering their introduction in the makeshift AEGIS headquarters below Shibuya station. This was the Shutmon that required a holosuit, he remembered.
"Hiya, K!" Logan said, giving a wave at her. "Yeah, we're going okay, thanks!"
Seeing K here made Tadao wonder if Sophie had requested a general investigation of the area, but, supposed that was unlikely, given that there weren't much other AEGIS members aboard. So he put this down as happenstance.
"Is this your first time to this island chain as well?" Tadao would ask further, wondering if K was here for exploration or personal business. His thoughts on the matter were diverted further by another human walking out nearby - one clearly older and taller than him. He seemed to have a rather shy Bearmon nearby, but Tadao couldn't see the Elecmon on the roof. Logan was fine with that though, he jumped down onto the deck and smiled at the fellow beast digimon.
"Hi there, everything okay?" he asked him, but wouldn't approach further if it made the Bearmon feel scared. Apparently his name was "Belph".
Tadao meanwhile looked at his tamer. "Ah, that's fine, we don't mind" he said, smiling. "I see, so you're returning to this world? I don't think I'd be much help there, I only got here a few months ago myself". But he'd at least try.
Meanwhile, the boat was approaching the port on the main island.

I twasn't hard to detect that worry that was present as she approached tadao and his partner. It made sense to her after all what were the chances that she would be friendly? What were the chances that she of all people... Would be someone a human could trust? Some digimon hated humans but; she wasn't one of them and she honest to sovereign hoped that she didn't come across that way.
"Good good, Figured I'd say hello considering the last time we saw one another was back in the impromptu Aegis headquarters."
She'd give them both a small grin before perking up at the inquiry about this being her first time here. She'd dip her head in a nod gazing out at the island chain in question.
"Yes it is, I would like to say that it's going to be the first of many but we'll see. Certainly depends on what happens while I'm on it."
She'd chuckle lightly and stretch a bit; what an odd question to ask her though. Would it be a surprise if she had been there before?
"If anything I just hope that this interaction with a locale will be somewhat tame. But I think I'll be okay if not."
She'd tilt her head just a little bit as she spotted yet another human. One that was surprisingly older than the others she had met, or rather looked like what you'd expect to be sitting behind a desk somewhere.. Doing paperwork. Curiously she'd approach with them, tilting her head just a bit.
"Interesting. So far I've met human children and teenagers. But you're an adult human aren't you?"
The better question that K had to ask herself, is how did she not notice this human earlier? Perhaps she was more focused on boarding and getting to a proper position than the other passengers....

Josh was pleased to see the group was friendly and set his bag down, relaxing a little. Belph seemed to be a little less worried and shyly offered a handshake to Tadao. "S...sorry, I'm trying to be a bit m..more social, but its.... a little hard." Belph stammered, sticking close by Josh, but trying to take the fact they were on vacation to heart and relax a bit.
The larger tamer chuckled. "Yes, that's right. Its been....what, about five years or so since I was here last. A lot has changed since then." He said, helping Belph onto the chair next to him. "We had to lay low for a while thanks to some rather... undesirable tamers at the time. However, I kind of needed to get these two back. It seems they lose power if away for a decent amount of time." He said, thumbing over at Belph.
Leo on the other hand was getting curious and had jumped down behind K, making his way around towards his brother and Josh. "Aren't you forgetting something Josh?" The Elecmon asked, a smirk playing over his features as Josh looked puzzled for a moment. "Ah!, Sorry about that. You already met Belph. This is Leo, and I'm known as Josh. Its a pleasure to meet you all." He said, offering a handshake to K as Leo took over the seat while Josh was preoccupied.
"We may be rarer than the younger tamers or spirit users, but there are reasons for that." He said as the boat slowly pulled up to the jetty, Belph peering over the side as people below clamored to get off first. "Do you know why kids and teenagers are picked more in the first place?" He asks the group, tilting his head and waiting for an answer.

Tadao was glad when the Shutmon confirmed herself as K. "Yeah, it's nice to see you out here" he said, at least happy to see a familiar face out here. Even if K was a Perfect level digimon, well, that he had seen her earlier in a friendly setting, so he wasn't afraid.
K answered that it was likely going to be the first visit of many. Tadao acknowledged that sentiment. "Yeah, I get what you mean. Apparently there's a civilization on these islands, and, given that they seem to be mostly dragon and beast digimon, they probably haven't seen much of the rest of the world". While undoubtedly they could swim, Tadao doubted that they could swim the 500 miles to the coast of the mainland, without a functioning boat or means of flight at least.
Logan meanwhile thought on her next statement. "Aw, it'd be sad if it's not pleasant, I mean, meeting people outside their island might bring them opportunities, right?"
"Heh, keep on talking like that and you might fit in well with PROFIT" Tadao teased. Logan didn't mind though, he liked those he had met so far in PROFIT.
Logan then seemed sympathetic toward Belph. Thinking that he seemed like a non threatening digimon, he thought he might like to help here. "That's okay, Belph. If you like, I might be able to help you if I can" he offered. "For instance, uh..." he thought of a non threatening subject to discuss, then came up with one. "Do you have any hobbies?" he asked as an opening.
Tadao watched this with a bit of negative nostalgia. Belph reminded him of himself at a younger age, but, he was glad that Logan was acting in a nice way, rather than mocking him.
He then turned his attention to the other tamer. It seems that he had been inactive for five years, wow, that was a long time. Then the other digimon reminded him of something, and then they introduced themselves as Josh, Leo and Belph.
"Ah, hey, I'm Tadao and this is Logan" he said, introducing themselves. As they pulled up to the jetty, Josh asked if there were any theories as to why younger humans were chosen moreso than older humans. Tadao pondered this, but Logan answered quickly.
"That's easy, it's because younger humans tend to adapt to new situations a bit easier, and can take in all the lessons needed to help raise a digimon properly, without the additional responsibility of their own lives".
Tadao looked at the Offmon with surprise, then Logan grinned back up at him. "I mean, that's what I've gathered from you humans, the older you get, the busier you are. And older humans don't seem to be so prepared to accept digimon in their lives regardless".
"Okay, that's probably enough, Logan" Tadao advised, sensing that he was getting a bit too bogged down in theory at this stage. Finally, the boat was moored to the dock, the stairs were lowered, and it was clear for them to disembark. Tadao and Logan felt glad of this.
"So, shall we?" Tadao offered, wanting to talk a little more to K, Josh, Leo and Belph, seeing as they had been neat to talk to so far. In fact he'd be happy to continue talking to them once they stepped on dry land.

This tamer hadn't stepped into the digital world for five years? K found herself blinking and leaning forward just a little bit out of curiosity. Something about undesirable tamers? What could he even be meaning by that? So far all the tamers she had been running into were fairly pleasant.
"Undesirable? I've yet to meet a human that fits that description. I suppose it would make sense that a digimon loses power if apart from the digital world for too long, perhaps just a way of reminded us of where home is."
She'd turn her head when Leo jumped down behind her; while she wasn't being aggressive in any manner she still didn't particularily like when people she didn't fully know were behind her. Ice cold eyes followed the Elecmon for a moment before flicking back to the human. Whom offered introductions for their group as a whole and then...
Well then there was the human greeting of a handshake. Something she had gotten used to for the most part; she'd gingerly shake the older human's hand making sure not to grip too tightly. As she had both claws and rather inhuman strength.
"A pleasure Josh. My name is K."
She'd tilt her head just a little bit at Tadao, a brow quirking.
"Indeed, I was unsure if I was going to run into someone I knew or not. The list may be shorter than I'd like, but at least it's a good list of people."
A shrug and the digimon would consider what the human said next. That there was a civilization on the island; along with them being dragon and beast digimon. If she was lucky being a beast type digimon for much of her line might be a blessing when dealing with the denizens.
"Well if they're as sequestered as you make it out to be... Then being a part of either dragon or beast digimon families will make it easier to interact. Some digimon are close minded after all."
It wouldn't be the first time she had dealt with a digimon that only dealt with certain types. Some digimon wouldn't talk to you if you had a virus family tree.. or.. Well she didn't want to think of the other alternitives if you tried to force interactions on them.
"Opportunities huh. Hopefully perspective rather than that, it's certainly something that would help but.. In the long run perspective is much more valuable."
At the mention of PROFIT the Shutmon quirked a bro.
"PROFIT? Is that some human orginization or....?"
She was aware that there was a few orginizations that had sprung up in the past. Ultimately most of them had vanished or gone defunct in some manner.
At the query about why kids and teens were picked more often than adults... Well K hadn't an honest clue. She'd frown after a few moments, looking somewhat out of sorts. She'd remain quiet up until Logan piped up. The way that he explained it was rather simple; straight to the point and she could understand most of what he meant.
"Honestly, I don't know very much about humans. Why they come here or why they're picked. But that's okay, as ultimately most of the humans I've met have been rather pleasant. But I suppose there would be exceptions if what you say is true. Along with not having an actual reason to doubt you..."
There was a soft chuckle and she'd rub her head; giving the group a small grin. The whole idea of traveling as a group was likely better than by herself, even if she could cover alot of ground... Well. It wouldn't be a good thing if she did so by herself? Part of discovering anything was sharing the discovering with others.
"Lets. If we stay too long on the boat it might take us back by accident."
She'd laugh a bit and trot towards the exit of the boat. Sure she could easily just take off over the railing seeing as she could literally walk on air... but sometimes you had to remain grounded for the whole experience to really take root.

Josh was pleased to see someone who knew a bit about the reasons behind the digidestined being selected. "Glad to see someone using their head around here." He chuckled, before leaning back a little. "Thats only really half the reason though. Its also because younger humans are more likely to believe what they see, rather than question it. Adults would think they were going crazy or try to ignore their digimon without some major lifechanging event. occuring that forced them to work with what they think is just a figment of their imagination. In turn, that digimon would not be able to grow as easily as the bond between them and their tamer is weakened." He says, before hearing Tadao advise them they were getting too into it.
"Ah, good point. Do you guys know much about this place? I took this ferry because it was the first leaving Terminal" He would ask, gathering his bags as Belph seemed to be relaxing around Logan. The bearmon was loosening his grip on Josh and seemingly interested in the other digimon. "Um, I have a few. I like reading stuff, but only books. I'm afraid I might break a laptop." He said blushing a little in embarrassment. "My data is a bit corrupted, so my forms after rookie are kind of mean." He said, apologetically to the other digimon.
The boat rocked a bit, most of the passengers had disembarked so the group had a clear route off the vessel. Josh walked alongside K as he tried to answer her questions. "Just like digimon can be good or bad, so can people. In fact, humans are kind of a horrible species to be frank. But just like there are good and bad virus, data and vaccine digimon, there are also good and bad people. Leo evolves into a vaccine type, while Belph is a virus type, but both of them can have good and bad days. No point judging them by how they look right?"
Leo followed the group, making sure they hadn't forgotten anything, but staying mostly silent for now. He was rather happy Belph seemed to be making new friends and didn't want to interrupt him. Josh on the other hand was looking around at the view. "Well.... this looks interesting. I hope you guys brought some hiking gear. Shall we stick together for now?" The tamer asked, making sure Belph's bag was securely fastened for him.
(Been ill, apologies for the late post)

Tadao had to agree with K. "Yeah, I haven't met any bad humans on the digital world either" he admitted. For the most part, he thought that the humans that came to the digital world were good people. After all, if they weren't, it'd only take a light attack from a digimon to erase them.
Tadao looked to K when she asked about PROFIT. "It's this human-digimon organization that goes around the digital world doing tasks for money" he said. "Sophie explained to me that her brother was a part of it, I think they aim to bring something of an economy to the digital world?". After all, from what Tadao had seen of it, the digital world was pretty much a free living society. He didn't know if an economy would be that good of a thing, but, he supposed that's why he was here freelancing.
Tadao didn't mind the conversation as it was, it was fairly fascinating in fact, hearing the perspective of an older tamer. But yeah, they could discuss the theories some other time perhaps?
Josh then asked if they knew much about these islands. He shook his head. "Not much, other than they were recently discovered and made contact with" he said. Perhaps the increasing data of the digital world had made them appear suddenly? Although the volcanic activity was heavy, perhaps that was the reason?
Logan listened to Belph patiently. "Aw, sorry to hear that. Well, I think you're nice as a Rookie, so, hopefully you won't have to evolve past that if you don't want to" he smiled.
As they disembarked, Josh asked if they brought hiking gear. "Ah, no, I'm afraid I haven't" Tadao admitted. "But... maybe we could ask the locals for help?"
The place immediately next to the ferry pier resembled a tourist town on a pacific island. Tadao rather liked the look of it. Buildings were constructed from tropical tree wood, many of them on stilts as theoretical protection from flooding. Dragon and Beast digimon were indeed present on the island, and many of them seemed to be wearing ornate decorations around their necks, the meaning of which was lost on Tadao and Logan. And as the minutes went by, more and more digimon seemed to be looking at them with curiosity.
Eventually, a Monodramon approached them. "So, hi, are you humans?" he asked Tadao and Josh.
"Yeah, we are" Tadao said. This seemed to excite the Monodramon.
"Oh gosh! Wow, I didn't think you'd arrive here so quickly!" he said. "Say, um, do you have some free time? I think our elder would like to meet you".
Tadao blinked, but supposed that this worked out. An isolated community, meeting outsiders like them for probably the first time. This could be a rather interesting development. He glanced at Josh, K, Leo and Belph to see what they wanted to do.

K tilted her head a little bit when josh gave a somewhat detailed explanation about why people were chosen. Or why the kids were chosen over adults. It made sense in a somewhat odd fashion, as she could imagine young digimon would accept a human partner better than an older one...
The shutmon blinked however when asked if they knew anything about this place. She'd gingerly shake her head and awkwardly rub her muzzle; there was so much about the digital world she didn't know still but she'd like to think that she was going to learn about this place in all due time.
"Not too much honestly. I only recently heard about this location, which still.. Well. Turned out to be a large surprise over all for me. I thought people were joking when I first heard about it; seemed a little odd to me."
She'd shrug a bit and flick hear ears as Josh continued to answer her earlier posed questions. She'd dip her head in a nod however when he explained how humans were by comparing them to digimon. Though she had to wonder how you would honestly tell the difference between a bad human and a good human right away. Upon the query of asking about bringing hiking gear the Shutmon shook her head.
"I don't really have much use for hiking gear, I was planning on keeping close to the ground while airborne. I've got an ability that lets me basically fly..."
The fact that there was another oginization that was out there, doing things for money didn't really surprise her. But the idea of bringing an economy to the digital world almost made her chuckle. She couldn't imagine something like that really working, most of the things in the digital world were easy to get if you knew where to look. And if you didn't there was simply bits to someone else to go do or get it for you.
"I don't really seeing that locking in very well; but who honestly knows."
When the group was approached by a Monodramon; K found herself awkwardly shifting to the side as it addressed Tadao and josh. It must of been used to seeing beast types or figured she was just a tourist to look around. She'd quirk a brow at the invitation that the monodramon threw out and shrugged. She didn't have a problem tagging along with this but...
"All considering how we just got here, why don't we hear what this elder has to say? Might be beneficial in the long run for both parties involved."

Belph didn't really seem too keen on following the monodramon, and even Josh was a little taken aback. Something seemed a little off, but he wasn't about to discount it just for a feeling. Leo on the other hand was all for it. "I don't see why not. Better to be friendly with the locals after all." He shrugged, stretching out a bit before wandering over to join the group, casting a wary glance at the monodramon.
Josh sighed and rubbed his temples. "I guess it would be rude to refuse. And we may get some information there." He said rather bluntly, He turned to the monodramon and nodded. "We'd be delighted to meet with them" He said, falling in at the back of the group as he waited for them to start moving.
It wasn't that he distrusted the digimon, it was more that... for a group who had supposedly been isolated for a long time to have a ferry and a welcoming committee, it seemed odd, and Josh was going to be keeping an eye out to see what might be causing it.
Belph on the other hand was busy looking at the digimon around as he noticed the odd necklaces the group wore. He was feeling more and more nervous around the crowd and just wanted to get a move on already, but his eyes kept being drawn back to them. Why was everyone wearing them? And what was it that made him want to make sure he never wore one?

Tadao admitted it seemed kind of strange that this location was only recently discovered. Why was that? Although... he supposed that a place full of beast and dragon digimon wouldn't have much means of contact. They were rather a long way out of range of the mainland after all, and seeing the digimon around him, none of them looked like they could swim very far.
K mentioned that she couldn't see PROFIT achieving its goals of a full digital world economy, but Tadao didn't mind. "Ah well. They at least seem to be having fun though, so I guess that's the main thing" he reasoned.
Indeed the Monodramon didn't think K, Logan, Belph or Leo that unusual. There were plenty of Bearmon and Leormons around on the island. Although the Offmon seemed somewhat new. Still, he was clearly a beast digimon. Same with the Shutmon. Monodramon then told a Patamon friend that the humans would go and see the leader, making the little hamster digimon fly away, undoubtedly to tell the news.
Looking around, Tadao noted that most of the digimon here seemed to have some kind of paint or dye on them. He didn't know what the symbols meant, it was all a different language to him. Perhaps it was a local custom? He was curious to see what this civilization had in store, given that the only digimon civilizations he had seen so far were Terminus, Whitewater and Rustport.
And so the group was led to a large building in the middle of the tropical island village. It seemed to have been built into a giant mutated tree, with walkways leading up to various cabins. The one at the very top was at least 50 feet above the ground. It made Tadao a bit delirious when he saw the height, but saw that it had a spectacular view of the rest of the village. Supposing that was its purpose, he entered.
Seeming like she was expecting them, at the other end of the high hall was a rabbit-like digimon dressed in a yellow suit, bladed weapons on her paws. Her black beady-like eyes were fixed on them with an expression of shock. She also wore the customary necklace that the rest of the digimon here wore, although hers was much more elaborate.
"So... it's true, the humans really have returned" she remarked to herself. Even as she did so, she clearly sounded like something of a leader. She cleared her throat and spoke. "My apologies for summoning you here so abruptly, but thank you for coming. I am Turuiemon, leader of this village. We call it Karnak".
Tadao had heard that word spoken on the boat, but hadn't followed the whole conversation. He nodded.
"Hello, Turuiemon. I'm Tadao Asahina and this is my partner Logan" he said, giving a polite bow. He'd wait for the others to introduce themselves before the conversation continued.
"I see. And this is true, Logan? You're his partner?" Turuiemon asked the Offmon. This question made Tadao a little uncomfortable, but Logan answered in the affirmative. "Interesting. And... my apologies for being nosy, but you humans have digivices, yes?"
Tadao nodded, taking his out of his pocket and showing her briefly. Turuiemon looked like something had clicked into place.
"Amazing. The reason I've asked you this, is because humans have not been seen in this location for over 300 years, so the stories say" she said, beginning to pace in front of them. This surprised Tadao.
"Really? Haven't you been to the mainland in all that time?" Tadao found himself asking.
"We have, but we have only observed a barren, scorched wasteland with no signs of life. I'm afraid I don't know the reason why, but... are you saying that you came from there?"
"Yeah, we have, we came from the city of Whitewater" Logan explained.
"I'm not familiar with that civilization" Turuiemon admitted. There was a cough from a digimon next to her. A Bokomon was standing next to her seat, holding a large book. Tadao turned to him.
"My apologies for interrupting, madam, but, I fear we may be getting a little far ahead of ourselves" he said. "We may be confusing our guests".
"Ah, of course, sorry about going ahead so fast" Turuiemon said, sounding a little like a girl that had been scolded. It seemed to Tadao that she may not have been leader of this place for very long. "So then. Would you like some refreshments after your journey? Some green tea perhaps? Or something cool?".
"Some tea would be great, thanks" Tadao said, thinking that would help clear his head a little. There would be a pause as the tea would be prepared. Tadao mulled over what was said. Turuiemon saying that the mainland had been a barren wasteland all this time was surprising to say the least. Then again, 300 years had passed, Tadao didn't know what happened in the digital world in that time. Indeed, Earth 300 years ago was a vastly different place to what it was now.
While Turuiemon returned to her seat, Tadao glanced at K and Josh. "So, what do you make of this?" he asked them, unsurely.

K scratched her neck a little nervously; she wasn't sure what to think of the residents here. The last digimon that were dragon types she had dealt with was in the dragon valley as a whole. If they turned out to be the same it'd be a little saddening as she liked the look of this place.
So with high hopes she'd follow after the dragon digimon, making mental notes of location along with general design of the buildings. She was a little more focused on the structures but eventually they seemed to be somewhat similar to she started looking at the dragon digimon.
She wasn't sure what to make of the symbols, or what they meant. She wasn't sure what to ask or if they were even something that needed to be addressed. She knew some tribes of feral did something similar to like that; but they were much cruder than what was managed here.
Her eyes widened a bit when they got to to massive building, she'd let out a small exhalation and craned her neck to see if she could even see the top from where she was standing. Or rather if there was anything on it. Her ears perked and flicked forward however when the rabbit like digimon spoke.
Her eyes dragged down the tree and focused onto the rabbit digimon. There was a few moments where the wolfish digimon sort of sized them up before nodding; giving the creature a smile. Though she wasn't really being addressed that meant nothing in terms of having to be polite to someone that she just met.
Once again her eyes changed targets, flicking over to Tadao and his partner. They seemed rather excited or perhaps worried that humans were showing up here? She couldn't really tell the intricacies of these people upon meeting them. She hoped it wouldn't impact anyone negatively just by being humans, it's not like they were that different from digimon.
The exchange was strange, very focused on the digivices and she'd perk up when they said that humans hadn't been here in over three hundred years. So there wasn't going to be any actual impact on this area from humans yet. Which meant there might be quite a few things in store here, as the digital world reacted very well to humans interacting with it from what she had seen. She'd pipe up about whitewater when it was mentioned; not so much out of wanting to be in the conversation as just providing a small bit of information to these people.
"It's a large city with quite a few individuals living there; about ten or so thousand last I heard. You could easily set up a trade route with them if you wanted; they'd have the resources available to make it work in the long term."
Realistically it'd be hard pressed to find something this location had plenty of to trade out and what not. They might not even be willing to do something like this with a city or people they hadn't met.
She'd turn her head when the Bokomon holding some kind of book addressed the fact they were getting ahead of themselves. K had to agree they might be taking things too quickly; she'd rub her muzzle thoughtfully and frown at the mention of green tea or some sort of beverage.
"Tea actually sounds pretty good..."
She'd admit plainly and gaze at Tadao before flicking her ears to the side. A small frown crested her lips and she'd turn her gaze to josh and then back to Tadao. With a soft sigh she'd shake her head.
"A basic rudimentary colony, with access to food water and general livestock of some kind. They've done well enough to where they're comfortable and can live peacefully. But there's a few things bothering me that I can't quite place, symbology, the age of their leader and just.. I want to say something's wrong, but I can't say what."

OOC: Skipping Josh since it's been 3 weeks.
Turuiemon gave K an interested glance when she mentioned that Whitewater was a civilization with about ten thousand digimon. "That is interesting. I might send some digimon over there to see what we can do". While she did still seem startled about her facts being wrong, she at least seemed adaptable to the new situation.
While the tea was being prepared, Tadao had to agree with K's assessment that something seemed a little off about Karnak. Logan agreed with this assessment.
"Yeah it's like this place has been on another world for 300 years" the Offmon stated. "But it's a good thing they're okay with humans I guess, otherwise we'd have trouble".
Tadao thought that might be the case. As though these islands had been cut off from the mainland for that amount of time and only just returned. "...hmm, it's confusing, maybe we'll ask some more questions later?" he suggested.
At that, Turuiemon and some Goblimons returned, two carrying a table, one carrying a tea tray, and one carrying snacks. The table was set down in the middle of the long hall and Turuiemon invited the visitors to sit at it for some refreshments. Tadao and Logan did so.
"Thank you for agreeing to come here, it's actually a relief that you did" she said. "Our village has been having... problems of late. Particularly where the volcano is concerned".
"It's not about to erupt is it?" Tadao asked, worriedly.
"No, thankfully. However... there's been an issue with those that travel up the mountain paths to reach the herbs that grow up there. Some digimon that go too high suddenly... well... suddenly de-digivolve to Rookie".
"That sounds like a problem, definitely" Logan said, sipping his tea. It was a little too hot and he almost spilled it in shock. Instead he blew on his cup for a little while.
"Yes. And, well, I know you are outsiders, but, from what I know of humans in the legends, you are quite effective problem solvers, yes?"
"I... guess we are, yeah" Tadao said, giving an awkward grin, scratching the back of his hair. "But... no offense, how come you don't try and solve it?"
"We've tried, but, the same thing happens each time. I've tried to arrange a volunteer task force, but, most Rookie levels don't feel good about going that high and of course there would be few Champion levels willing to be forcibly de-digivolved".
Tadao glanced at K. "Do you know much about this?" he asked her.
