Taking the first steps into the Digital World [Finished]

That was... fair enough!

"As long as you don't count handling pamphlets as "accosting" us, we'll probably be fine." She sweatdropped a bit at the random PetitMamon who was handing them some distance away... Nothing bad would happen, right?

In times like these, she was glad Ayumi hadn't made this trip on her own. In a sense, she was a little afraid for her safety. Oh well, better to focus on the more interesting topic.

"Yup! Digimons can look like pretty much anything! Some can be really small, while others can be... huge."

Her small speech would be interrupted by Mizu dragging Yukiko into the store, Amelie not being able to contain a small smile.

"You coming, Ayumi?" As much as she wanted to follow them right away, making sure that white-haired girl didn't separate from the group was probably a more pressing issue. "Maybe we'll find something for you too!"

Well; crap. A reaction like that was really uncalled for. She could understand why Ayumi would get angry if she really meant it that way, but... she hadn't at all? It wasn't like holosuits was the only thing that stores like that sold. In a way, Amelie was thankful that Yukiko had retrained her friend in a timely way. Otherwise, things could've gotten messy.

Guess she had to talk her way out of this? Even if it wasn't technically her fault that Ayumi was oversensitive. She let out a sigh, trying to calm down as much as she could before finally speaking.

"Why are you putting words I didn't say in my mouth?" Well, that probably wasn't the best start. But given her tone had been fairly straightforward this whole time, she expected to have at least the benefit of doubt. "I don't see why I'd make any remark about your appearance. You look fine, period. What I was referring to was to that."

A lone finger pointed at the small assortment of infini-stores and "clones"; it wasn't the type of stuff that brought the teenager's own interest, but thought that maybe Ayumi could find them interesting! So much for trying to be mindful.

"Hope that clears the misunderstanding?" It was obvious that she wasn't pleased with the situation. "I can always walk away if that's not enough, though. I'd rather avoid being arrested for disorderly behavior."

Amelie wasn't angry; her somewhat aggressive response had been a knee-jerk reaction to the events that had just unfolded, more or less. Truth was that she was somewhat fond of the trio who were currently her companions, recent fight notwithstanding, of course.

She proceeded to wave off Yukiko's apology as she sighed. "No need to apologize, really; I just wish things were... simpler, I guess? I'm not used to treading on eggshells around people, nor at being passive-aggressive or indirect. Chances are I wouldn't be with you at the moment if I didn't enjoy your company, honestly."

The brunette nodded at the taller girl's next statement. She could afford to be a little patient in a situation like this, just as long as there weren't any hard feelings afterward. Ultimately, a small smile graced her face. "Don't worry; I won't go anywhere as long as you want me to stick around. I just don't want to kill the mood, you know? Since everyone seemed to be having fun..."

It was probably better to just let go of that. If Yukiko was sincere, everything would resolve eventually. "So! Let's just enter; take Mizu-chan is still eager to get a holosuit."

It was good that they come to an understanding of sorts. Obviously, it'd probably take some time for Ayumi and Amelie to be on cordial terms again, but the brunette was a patient person; she could wait.

Even though she had been in Terminus' stores in the past, it was still a bit marvelous how otherworldly the gadgets and inventions could get. Some were just nifty, while others... outright unbelievable.

She wouldn't be able to browse the store for too long, though! Since their main goal was getting Mizu a holosuit, it was to be expected that she'd be really eager to get one; Amelie approached the Betamon who was currently talking with a Monochromon.

"Good evening." She greeted the Monochromon, her gaze setting on Mizu right away. "What are your options? I guess you have at least an idea of how you want to look."

In a sense, it was a little like... shopping for clothes? Except not really.

Well, that was a very Mizu-like option, if she had seen them. It was... oddly fitting, in a sense.

"It's a pretty good pick! Brunette's the best hair color, by far." She teenager admitted, a small smile on her face. Self-adulation aside, she had never seen bad choices with holosuits, unless intentionally picked for some reason. "And girl's pretty cute to boot! I'd probably try to date you if you were human."

Her tone belied that her last statement was intended to be a joke. Or... was it? Who knew! "You should double check before confirming that you're gonna buy that appearance, though! Been told that changing holosuits can be a drag at times, and we kinda have all the time of the world."

Or at least until something similarly catastrophic as what happened with Ayumi minutes ago happened again. That had the potential to shorten their stay in this world by a fair bit. Or at least hers.

Oh, right! Currency. Amelie should have probably explained that sooner. Guess that if Ayumi didn't have enough money to pay for her stuff, she'd have to pay it for her but... that was probably fine; it wasn't like holosuits were particularly expensive, anyway.

"I, uh... totally forgot to explain that. Time for a little crash course, I guess." Bringing out her digivice and hoping that Yukiko's would work the same despite being a completely different model, she showed the taller girl how to access her bit wallet, or at least how she would access it if she had a D-Tector.

She'd check if Yukiko had enough bits to pay before either sighing in relief or paying herself. Should've been more mindful about this! She had definitely underestimated how new the girls were to this whole digital thing. Or maybe she just took some things for granted. She didn't really know.

Once that was taken care of, gaze briefly at Ayumi's direction before looking at the duo again. "So... anything else that catches your interest?"

Well, that was a relief! Yukiko was able to pay with her own money, and soon enough Mizu would have a new appearance to don whenever she pleased. It was a bit worrying, given that now she could draw her human towards weird adventures in the other world too but...

That was something they'd have to solve by themselves. Not like she was butting in digimon-partner relationships anyway. "No biggie. I'm glad that Mizu could find something she liked."

Just like... Ayumi? That was surprising, and a little relieving, honestly! Given how bent she seemed on liking technology and that stuff, it seemed like something that'd naturally draw her attention.

At that, she just smiled, content to just watch how the girls went about their business. She wasn't here to buy anything but... she could wait until the trio was satisfied. This was kinda how she had pictured their outing from the get go.
