One could say that Asher's and Amelie's current antics were pretty clearly on the childish side of the spectrum. Heck, even the brunette herself would make that remark if she could think absolutely clearly. However, that wasn't the case and the conclusion was that, overall, this was pretty fun! Guess that having fun was... easier that way, in a sense; even though the alcohol wasn't influencing her that much right now. Or at least that's what she preferred to think, anyway! Asher's own grin was reciprocated with one of her own right away. "Oh well; at least I tried my best. Not everyone can be as mean as you, I guess." An exaggerated shrug followed before another sip was given to her drink. She was glad this was actually drinkable stuff and not... that wasabi thing again; that taste was probably going to remain in her memory for a while... As strange as it was, she found herself in the face of a somewhat... serious answer from Asher? Well, color her surprised. How this conversation could alternate between harmless teasing and topics that could be considered a little too serious was something Amy found a little amazing. However, the teenager was going to keep up, or at least try to! An unusual, thoughtful expression took over her face for a second. "I'm glad." She replied, sincerely. "I'd say that if a person had the need to lie about themselves, that'd be pretty sad." Keeping quiet for a moment afterward, the brunette couldn't but ponder her own response; sure, there were probably some exceptions, like the whole digimon deal, but hopefully, Asher would catch her intent, rather than the details behind those words. Similarly, Amelie was somewhat unsure of Asher's ability to truly be a bad person. Sure, he was pretty talented at bending words, and could probably be very good at having fun at the expense of others, but, thus far... he'd been pretty tame with it. And she could appreciate that, to an extent! "True enough! Sometimes, people forget what being nice is about. And it's not even that hard if you ask me..." Of course, that was a pause the led to the inevitable conclusion. "And that makes me wonder why you insist on being the worst. It's a bit pointless, don't you think?"She couldn't help but giggle at that remark. Was Amy actually being the mean one in this situation? Probably! But that didn't make it any less fun. Just like Asher doing a half-hearted effort at pretending to be a stalker; a small smile conveyed that at least the brunette was amused at those comments and gestures, however. "You~r loss. It was a golden opportunity if you ask me! A once in a lifetime thing, even. Take~ you missed Stalking 101, didn't you?" Being able to remain composed in the face of such silliness was a daunting task, and soon enough, a small snicker forced its way out of Amelie's mouth. They were having a good time, weren't they? Or at least she was, even though Asher didn't seem to mind either. Well, maybe not entirely a good time; it was too soon to be reminiscing about the awful taste of the wasabi thing, after all! In the end, however, she managed a small smirk at the comment that followed. Her voice immediately adopted a teasing tone. "Every couple of days, hu~h. You know, if I didn't know better, I'd have a fair bit of second thoughts about you wanting to hang out with me that frequently. Bu~t I'll leave it at that." What Asher probably didn't expect was for her smirk to grow slightly bigger at his proposal; Amy took a second to enjoy how that had gotten the opposite effect as intended. After all, she was familiar with the taste of squid ink and could say... "Su~re! Let's do that at some point! For a second here I~ thought you would propose something disgusting like wasabi, but squid ink is pretty good!"An obviously fake dejected expression took over her features in the face of some obvious truths; yet, in a sense, those were a bit... sobering? Even if she was sitting in a bar, talking to somebody over a drink, the fact that she was in another world with strange beings; and that this kind of trips would only become more frequent with time was something she to fully assimilate. But that was something she'd have to think about later. Besides her face adopting a thoughtful expression for a couple of seconds, she wouldn't do much about it. "I guess~ I just have to up my fangirl game, then! It's a little bit daunting how there's no way to get a formal education in such a popular career path, don't you think? I'm sure a fair share of people would be interested in it."She couldn't really argue with Asher's logic, in part because it was sound, but mostly because her brain couldn't be bothered at moment. "Well~. I guess not having to remember names is always a plus. If not, there's always that movie." She giggled a bit at the reference to her namesake movie, even though the two Amelies didn't have much in common. "That must be pre~tty easy to remember, being an actor and that stuff."Were all actors movie experts? Probably, probably not; having a fair share of knowledge about it because it was your area of expertise was to be somewhat expected, however. "We're no~t repeating the wasabi beer. Ever. That's for sure."Yup, unforgettable was a pretty accurate word. In the bad sense. A small nod followed the redhead's explanation; truth was that there was a case that could be made about both 'not wanting to trip with the same stone twice' or just 'missing out on something that could be interesting'. Which side you took was mostly personal preference, she believed. "Hopefully nothing too~ weird will happen tonight, then!" For a second, she let out a pensive hum. "In a sense, I~ guess we're in television, thooough. You know, the nightclub's security cameras and stuff. Maybe some kind of digimon is watching us right now and betting on the outcome of this date? Wouldn't that be reallyyy~ weird?"The next thing that she was about to say was cut off abruptly by the sound of a song that was just beginning to play. Maybe it was just a guilty pleasure of hers, given that the song wasn't really that good, but she took a generous sip of her drink, stood up, and after leaving enough bits on the bar to pay for the drinks, Amelie reached for Asher's hand rather suddenly. "Hoooope you didn't think we'd just talk and drink for the duration of the date, riiiiight? That'd make me feel pretty old!" An excited smile was now gracing her face. "Leeeeet's dance!"Not much of a warning, but she'd pull it right afterward. It was time to have some fun! Not to say it was too late to ask Asher if he really liked dancing or not, but it'd be really silly if he went to a nightclub and didn't at least know how to dance, right?

Placing an elbow on the table, Asher made it a point to look even more comfortable. "Good. Can't have you any more mean than I am, you know," he chuckled, with a tilt of the head. This was a weird start off to a date, wasn't it? Was this normal? Asher wasn't entirely sure! After all, his prior dating experiences probably weren't good to base anything off of! Then again, neither was a 'blind' date with someone he knew! Ah well.
Despite a notable flip in their conversational tone, it seemed nice to hear that Amelie would approve of not being a liar. Surely everyone made exceptions to such a thing! But, that would be going into far more detail than Asher really cared to! And, he wasn't just going to start giving off examples! That would make for a really sobering moment. Considering they were drinking, it felt far from ideal!
At least the tone couldn't remain that way for long. What, with Amelie continuing to call Asher the worst! "Maybe, I just want to be the best at something. Think I can be the best at being the worst?" Considering a joke like that was the worst, the answer was probably yes! But only time would tell! Asher probably wasn't very good at being the worst, though, in all honesty. But for Amelie? Sure, he'd try! Not like he had anything more pressing to do!
Luckily, all of this was in good fun. Was it date-like? That was debatable! But, it wasn't like Asher was actually looking for love! And, getting to know someone better was just as good as a date, right? Or, uh, something around that logic. He wasn't entirely sure where that thought process was supposed to go. And, really, he didn't care. Amelie looked like she was having an alright time, so it didn't matter much! "I guess I never got the memo on what time Stalking 101 was," the redhead snickered. "Think I can borrow your notes for it? You know I'll return them!" By stalking her until he found the right time to 'conveniently' bump into her with the imaginary notes, of course! Of course, that was implying Amelie took Stalking 101!
"Wha~t?" Asher hummed, matching the tone that his date had been using, "do you have a pr~oblem with me wanting to see you that much?" Oh, even dense Asher knew the implications to that! But, he chose to ignore it for the sake of argument! Or, fun? Both. Yes, definitely both. But, it was awfully hard to mask the flash of alarm when Amelie actually agreed to squid ink! Did she just say that it was good? Honestly, Asher hadn't tried it yet! It sounded plain weird! Composing himself as quickly as he could, the teen tilted his head a little. "Bu~t if you've already tried it, where's the fun~?" Oh come on! He couldn't think he was going to get out of this one now, could he?
For a brief second, Asher had to wonder if he broke Amelie. Maybe mentioning the Digimon thing had been a bad idea. Then again, maybe that thoughtful look was just pondering her next statement! "Ah, who needs formal education when you have the internet?" Asher questioned, with a half-grin. "That way, you can have one browser tab up to stalk someone, and another up to ask how to stalk someone!" That was productivity, after all! Though, Asher wasn't about to bring up that his sister severely crippled the ability to research Asher's name on the internet! Or, at least, to find most sensitive information on him.
"I don't think I'd forget your name anyway," the redhead hummed glancing at the ceiling for a second. If Amelie were a true fangirl, she'd be swooning! Thankfully, she was not. So, hopefully, she would not. But, after a pause, the young man looked back to his date, giving a mischievous smile. "Who are you again?" Go figure!
But, Asher couldn't even pretend to be upset about the wasabi beer never returning to their lives. "Deal." It was definitely an experience that was best left as a one-time event!
The next statement that Amelie put into Asher's head almost felt like a potential. After all, someone had to set up this date, right? What if it really was some weird show! Or it was just that really weird Venusmon that kept staring at them. A little privacy, please? "You might be onto something!" Asher snickered, thinking about how strange it would be if Digimon actually found this sort of thing entertaining to watch. But, then again, dating shows were pretty popular in the human world! Why not here? "What do you think the bet's in favor of? Good ending, or you dumping a drink on me?"
Please don't splash booze in Asher's face! That would just be rude.
Feeling his hand suddenly grabbed, the teen blinked a few times rapidly. Uh, wait. What were they doing? Oh god. They were going to dance. To this? He was so judging Amy for this one! But, the ex-actor couldn't help but find himself chuckling about the moment. "What, you don't want to feel like an old lady?" There was no resisting, as Asher let himself easily be removed from his seat, following the brunette. Of course, Asher should have expected the date to go this way, considering they were in a nightclub!
And, he wasn't going to complain! After all, dancing would help keep the night entertaining! Right? So, once Amelie would start dancing, the ex-actor would follow suit! Of course, with a song like this, Asher was probably going to have a hard time resisting laughing about Amelie's taste in music!
Now, with any luck, she wouldn't find a Leomon to try to dance with!

Well, there wasn't much that Amy could say about her peer's words. She had gotten the answer she wanted, after all. "I'm glad that you're so accepting of your new position. I gotta say that it fits you."As weird as this conversation was, the brunette couldn't deny it was very enjoyable; sure, maybe it had to do with the fact that she knew this person, and that they already had some history together, even if not an overly long one. At the very least, she was aware of Asher's antics, and while they could be mildly annoying at times, they were mostly funny. Just like his answer about being 'the best at being the worst'. Adopting a thinking expression for a second, Amelie's addled mind had a bit of trouble processing that notion, even if finally she smirked a bit at those words. "I mean. I guess it really takes talent to be the best at something. Even if that's being the worst." A pause, followed by some laughter ensued. "You could've picked a better thing to be the best at, honestly. Like the best blind dater!"Was that a challenge, or maybe there was something else about that proposal? Could their date even be considered a 'blind' date? Had Amy drunk too much and was beginning to talk nonsense? Those were all valid possibilities. And considering how their conversation followed, the third kinda became very likely. Being 'happy' wasn't a bad thing, but it kinda made the situation all the more unpredictable. "Wai~t." Amelie's speech came to a sudden halt. "Why I should have any notes on Stalking 101? You're supposedly the adept at sta~lking, not me!"Had she taken that offer way too seriously? Considering that the brunette was snickering at the moment, that was highly unlikely. "If anything, I thi~nk you're the expert in here. Maybe I should ask you for a tip or two in case I wanna begin a career as a pro stalker!"Which Asher maybe was, taking into account what he said next. However, Amy didn't seem to mind those words; in fact, she reciprocated those with a small smirk. So, Asher wanted to play that game? He was on! "We~ll, well! You could've said that you wanted to hang out that often sooner! It'd have saved us a lot of time and effort, don't you think?" Of course, the brunette was exaggerating the situation as much as she could. "You could say right now that you're cru~shing on the prettiest girl around, and I'd have understoo~d!"As the implication of her words floated in the air, she just danced away from the topic as if she had said something totally innocuous. The food challenge was undoubtedly something that caught her interest, anyway. "Squid ink is a cla~ssic in Mediterranean cuisine! It's pretty good, so you should definitely try it along the li~ne. Especially in pasta." A small pause followed, another thinking expression taking over her features. "Bu~t, if it's something I haven't tried, what about gri~lled eels? I've wanted to try them for a while, but never had the opportunity!"Truthfully, the wonders of the internet were something that wasn't alien to Amy, even though the thought of using their power to get personal information about known people wasn't something that had crossed her head yet. "That sounds li~ke a lot of effort. I think I'll pa~ss for now. Especially when you're in front of me, you know? If I wanted to know anything, I~ could just ask." Of course, that wasn't always simple, and the redhead could just refuse to the information requested, but it wasn't like she would remember any details tomorrow. Or, well, least not clearly. Just like he didn't even seem to be able to 'remember' her name. Instead of getting worked up in the face of such an obvious offense, Amelie just pouted, puffed her cheeks a bit and jabbed Asher's arm with a little more strength that she'd do in the face of a funny joke. Probably not enough to even make him flinch, but good enough to express that it wasn't a funny joke. At least for her! Happy to know that wasabi beer would be a one-time thing, the brunette moved onto their next silly assumption; namely, the fact that this could have been rigged by somebody called Dice-tan. As interesting as that idea was, in the end, and even if Amy had proposed it herself, she found it kinda unlikely. "Besides that Venusmon that's sta~ring at us with dreamy eyes, I doubt there are bets going on. After all, you're the famous actor and I'm the ple~beian, right? It should go in your favor, if anything!"Whether that statement had been mostly a joke or a serious one would probably remain a mystery, especially given how Asher had been pretty much dragged to the dance floor! "Ju~st shut u~p." She promptly responded to his tease/question. "Are you aware that you're the one supposed to invite me to dance and not the other way around, right? That's what guys usually do!"Being honest with herself, Amy knew that her taste in music (or regarding this song in particular, rather) wasn't the best, so getting less than optimal reactions was expected and pretty much accepted; just as long as nobody exploded in laughter, that is! Even if 'slightly' inebriated, the brunette's sense of rhythm was mostly intact. It was somewhat obvious that this wasn't the first time she danced like this. The end result was just having fun, after all! And even if Asher couldn't quite follow suit, that was fine. Watching somebody struggling with dance moves was fun, anyway! After a couple more tracks of what frankly could described as 'normal nightclub music', things took a dramatic shift, finally slowing down for some reason, even though anyone curious enough would notice that a certain Venusmon was now in the DJ's booth. Take things as they came, right? She promptly made the motions to begin 'slow dancing', as if to test the waters. Would the redhead follow along or... decided he had enough? Time to find out!

Was being considered mean the best title that someone should obtain on a date? In hindsight, probably not! But Amy seemed pretty content with this, so the young man wasn't going to complain about it. After all, he kind of owned up to it!
The more he thought about it, the more that Asher decided that it was probably for the best that this date had ended up being far less 'blind' than anticipated. Which, speaking of! Or, uh, thinking of? Anyway. The topic! "I mean, maybe I'm both?" Asher suggested, in a joking-yet-cocky manner. "In fact, I think I'm so good at this 'blind' dating thing that it didn't end up being blind at all!" That's how it worked, right?
Okay, no. No it wasn't.
Hopefully Asher's extremely obvious snickering would be enough to show that he wasn't serious! Or that full of himself, for that matter! It did trigger a mental question of what he may be able to do to better this date. Surely, an idea that wouldn't involve more wasabi beer.
Though, maybe both of them had a little too much to drink already. Or, they were just feeding off of whatever buzz the other may have, and making it all the more ridiculous! "Well, I can't borrow your stalking notes if you didn't take any," the redhead pointed out, with a small pointing gesture toward the girl. Buu~t," back to mimicking Amy's speech! "Maybe I'll let you in on some stalking secrets." There was a small pause, for dramatic effect, before the teen flashed a smile and added, "only if it's another time." Was it because of their date holding priority? Or... "First stalking tip: make reasons to be in the same place! That way, they seem less stalker-like!"
For the record, that was totally a joke. A really, really bad joke.
Though, Amelie was already taking the game further in a way that would have probably flustered the normal person! And, maybe if Asher hadn't already had a drink and begun to acclimate to the setting, it might have flustered him, too! Instead, the actor donned a mostly sincere tone, while lips shifted to a much softer smile. "I mean, I could have said that." Was he being serious, or was this another act? As the sentence continued, his tone shifted to try to match Amy's. "Bu~t, are you gonna believe me if I said it?" Any sincerity that may have remained had immediately vanished, and a smirk replaced his prior expression. He'd let the words sink in later.
Or not, depending on how much they drank tonight.
"Squid ink pasta does not sound classic," he pointed out, letting the prior topic fade away. "Wouldn't it feel like you were eating the thing that made the ink?" Squid legs, pasta. Close enough when you're eating it with ink all over it, right? Okay, probably not. Asher honesty had no idea what squid ink was even comparable to, in taste! Maybe it was like soy sauce or something! Grilled eel, though, sounded like a far better deal! "Let's do it, then," he challenged, leaning forward a bit. "I'll pay for them, for your bravery." That seemed like a fair enough trade-off, just in case eel held the same taste-risks as wasabi beer!
Just like it seemed fair that Amelie wouldn't need the internet to ask someone in-person a question about themselves. To probably make the situation worse on himself, the redhead gave a thoughtful hum, before less-thought-inclusively stating, "I gue~ss you're right. I'd even answer anything you asked honestly." Luckily, Amy probably wasn't going to be in a mental state to ask too many invasive questions tonight! And, if the night continued on with many more drinks, it wouldn't matter how Asher answered, since it would long be forgotten by the morning!
But now that she was pouting and jabbing at him, his least concern was being quizzed! "Ah!" Leaning away slightly at the jab, Asher's grin grew a bit. Sure, it didn't actually hurt, but he wasn't going to play it off like it hadn't happened! Instead, he'd reach up to try to lightly squish Amelie's cheeks, to stop the pouting face. Or to cause her to make a funnier face, if she didn't recoil! "I'm not going to forget your name," he reassured, still maintaining a playful tone. "I promise."
At least he wasn't promising to remember the entirety of tonight!
This entire date being rigged was extremely unlikely, though! Even if the matchup seemed a bit strange! Trying not to look at the slightly unnerving Venusmon in the room, Asher focused more on the brunette's words. "Ple~beian, huh?" The young man teased, going back to one of their conversations from shortly before. "What happened to 'prettiest girl around'? That sounds like a pretty important title, to me!" Very official title, too!
It was better than 'old lady' at least!
"Hey, I could be making fun of the songs you want to dance to, instead," he suggested, sticking his tongue out. "I'll remember to invite you to dance next time." Now, as far as that next time went, it didn't really have to be another date. Or another day for that matter! While he kept up with Amy's dancing rather easily, having spent some time in such scene back in California, he also was going to make sure he kept up on his words about that dance!
Which, as the music slowed, Asher would take as a point to make good on that. Intentionally keeping his eyes away from who the inevitable DJ was for the song, when Amy tried to test the waters, the redhead took a moment to lean closer, to avoid needing to speak too loudly over the music. "How about I ask you to dance now?" Did that count?
And, as long as no fuss was made, the young man would place a hand on Amelie's waist. After all, this was a date. Slow dancing shouldn't cause any problems! In fact, Amy might notice that Asher was subtly leading, provided she didn't try to stay completely in one place! Probably luckily for the brunette's toes, it seemed that her date was more than competent when it came to dancing! Which, considering the type of person he was, might actually be almost surprising.

Amelie had to admit that this date was the land of weird of first timers; in a sense, this was her first time in the Digital World, her first time at 'blind-dating' somebody she already knew, and, in all honesty, the first time she had this kind of weird chemistry with somebody. Sure, Asher could be annoying and/or cocky at times, but the brunette could discern —or at least hoped— that he could tell where the boundary that separated harmless teasing from outright rudeness lied. Or maybe she was giving him too much credit and this had been done unwittingly. No way for her to know.
There was one thing Amy couldn't deny, however. Genuine or not, there was a strange kind of charm on the way he had to carry himself. That, or her taste was awful; knowing herself, both seemed likely possibilities.
Frankly enough, even if she had tried to adopt a thoughtful expression, the redhead's statement had been pretty bad at making her keep her composure; or, maybe it was the alcohol's influence? A small bout of laughter ensued. "I'd say it takes some ego to believe that, especially with your date in front of you, you know?"
Would that reaction be interpreted as something favorable or... the other way around? She was aware that Asher wasn't being really serious about this, but that didn't mean she couldn't capitalize on it! "But, that's fine, I guess. It'd be too rude to tell somebody they're delirious, don't you think?"
Delirious; definitely an interesting word to use. And... yeah, that may have been a bit on the mean side, but at least on her mental scoring board, Amy was still a fair bit behind her date on that department! The wasabi beer alone was enough to put him at least one hundred points or so ahead; this was totally fine!
That may have not been exactly accurate, and the brunette wasn't this 'rude'; she could owe some of the current quirks of her personality to the alcohol's influence, yet the more rational and, at the moment, inactive part of her brain hoped the redhead would take it well. Or something; why she was giving it that much thought?
In any case, the stalking matter was more interesting, yes. While initially raising an eyebrow at the notion of him sharing 'some stalking secrets', and even in her not-so-sober state, she couldn't but look slightly worried at what looked like a pretty valid piece of stalking advice. "Reasons, huh?" Amy's voice trailed off a little bit, then they were followed by a sudden, impish grin. "Like~ a blind date, for exa~mple? I just hope there isn't another random person stuffed inside a sack in your basement or something. That would be~ kinda mean, you know?"
Replying a bad joke with another one; wasn't that what life was about? Probably not, but it seemed like a fun prospect at the moment! Of course, as with most teasing games, it progressively had gone way way too far, mostly the pair refusing to back down; quite stubborn! On a setting like that, one could say that discerning which statement was true and which was just harmless teasing was a bit difficult. Yet, one question lingered in the air; did it even matter?
She couldn't help to blush a bit at that, however. Probably whatever remained of her sobriety holding her back? Maybe! "Goo~d question." The brunette seemed thoughtful for a bit, but eventually smiled, deciding to answer that question more truthfully. With another question. "Would I~ have any reason to no~t believe you if you did?" That one was dicey; how would the redhead answer that?
Not like the brunette would think about that for a lot; joining the effort at letting the topic fade, food jumped at the forefront of the conversation. That was something more entertaining than the whole trust matter, to be honest! "Excu~se me?" It was honestly outrageous! Doubting her knowledge of Mediterranean food wasn't something she could let slide. "Whi~le I'll forgive your limited knowle~dge of fine cuisine, I don't thi~nk you can judge a dish before tasting i~t. Once we get to Ve~nice or something and eat the~re, I'll take your opinion on tha~t seriously. Not be~fore."
Yup, that reaction had been relatively serious for a mostly drunk person! Could it be that Amelie took pride in her knowledge regarding European cuisine and felt slightly miffed at somebody who hadn't tasted it before judge it so freely? It was a possibility... or maybe she was just too drunk. Either or.
Luckily, her mood improved quickly at the mention of Asher offering to pay up for the eels. That was a nice gesture! "I mean~. How bad they can be? They're just eels." Would she be in for an unpleasant surprise? Or for something that tasted slightly different from a normal fish? Something to be found out the next time they had... a date? Or that they hung out? Not like she would think about given where they stood at the moment.
What had made the gears of Amy's mind spin a bit was Asher's answer to what had otherwise been harmless teasing. Deciding to not ponder on its significance for too long, she just smirked. "I~ will keep that one in mind. Don't thi~nk I'll forget about it!" Right now, she was too focused on the here and now to really think about anything too ask, even if the offer had been surprisingly nice.
Or... busy being all pouty towards her date being unwilling to remember her name. That was ruuuude, and any kind of retribution issued by her would totally be just and fair! What the brunette hadn't expected, however, was for her cheeks to be pinched and her expression being slowly contorted into something else; she was dangerously close to just break off, but ultimately decided to allow it because the following words were kinda sweet. At least by Asher's standards, that is!
"You better." Her tone was difficult to discern; was that a threat or... something else? Probably not even Amy knew. What was obvious is that her ego was even more fragile than usual when inebriated, even going as far as to cascade into their next interaction. She tried to recover an air of smugness, just to look really funny instead. "I~ mean. I haven't been particularly successful at any~thing. Yet; truth won~'t hurt anyone, will it?" After a small pause, she spoke again. "Besi~des, how are being a ple~beian and being pretty relate~d? If anythi~ng, it's easier to be pre~tty that way; not nearly as mu~ch stuff to worry about!"
It wouldn't be a particularly long-lived conversation, anyway. Soon enough, the duo was already on the dance floor! The brunette had to say that she was impressed with her peer's moves, yet not so much by his remarks; it wasn't like she cared, though. She knew that some of her tastes were less than optimal more than well, and a person commenting on that wasn't something she hadn't experienced before. "Oh, hu~sh. You'll pro~bably look cuter when da~ncing, rather than try~ing to make funny remarks."
Least to say, the whole venture was being entertaining! It was a relief that Asher was a pretty competent dancer, and even as the music began to slow down, Amelie could say that she was having a good time. Smiling softly at the proposal, and even if it kinda/kinda not counted, she nodded.
Slowly, one the brunette's hands began to find its way to the redhead's shoulder while the other interlocked with his. Finding it particularly relaxing, she decided to let him take the lead and proceeded to bask the gentle back-and-forth rocking and the rhythm of the music.
What could Amy say? As strange as it was, she was enjoying herself. Deciding to make the most of the sensation while it lasted, the lead was all Asher's now; it was on him to decide when they would stop dancing, or if they would do anything else afterward.

Smile only widened at the laughter that came from his date. "Maybe. But you haven't walked out on me yet." Don't tempt her! Asher was lucky that she hadn't already left, considering the wasabi beer had been the opposite of a hit! "And, I think you can tell that I'm joking." Either that, or she had laughed about how utterly ridiculous it was that he might seriously be that egotistical! On that note, was that a bit of a burn that she had followed up with? "Hey, some great historical figures were considered delirious," he countered, with a small pointing gesture. "Can't be that rude, if delirious can equate to genius." Okay, so that thought pattern definitely solidified the delirious part! Maybe we should rewind to Asher's prior statement about Amy being able to tell when he was joking, and really hope that she was able to pick up on it right now! It might take a bit more than that to actually bring Amy into the lead for offenses tonight. But, Asher refused to take full blame for the wasabi beer. She shouldn't have agreed to the challenge! At least he didn't record it! Upon the accusation of stalker-rigging this blind date, Asher playfully puffed his cheeks, and threw a glance to the side. "I don't even have that kind of stalker skills!" Sure. That's exactly what a stalker would say! "And the bag in the basement is for you! What, you don't like human-sized bags?" There was a brief pause, before smiling again. "Lucky for you, I don't have a basement. Or a human-sized sack to put people in. Best I've got is a box in my bedroom, and Whiskers already claimed that." Granted, when Whiskers was in a holosuit and spontaneously decided to sit in a box in Asher's bedroom, it was a little weird. But, he'd leave that part out! He'd also leave out that Whiskers was the only reason there was an empty box in his room! Cats were weird! But, it seemed that Amy was trying to trip him up with her next question. Would she have any reason not to believe him? "Well, I do recall someone calling me delirious pretty recently." As in, within this date! But, a slightly cocky smile slipped onto the redhead's lips. Time to test it, he supposed. "Then, I'm cru~shing on the prettiest girl around." Now, it was up to Amy to decide if the young actor was serious in those words! It seemed that, for once, he was going to play a poker face! As easy as it could be to forget, considering Asher often acted like a bad actor, the young man was truly a professional when it came to the line of work. For the first time in quite a while, he was going to use that to his advantage! But, the acting -- or lackthereof -- would falter at the idea of eels. Sticking his tongue out, the redhead shook his head. "Fine cuisine, huh?" Then, there was a mention of Venice. "Why Venice?" Were eels popular there? Asher wasn't entirely sure! He was sounding more like the plebeian now, wasn't he? Not all actors were immensely worldly! One had to wonder if either spirit user would remember his offer to pay for the slimy, edible creatures, however! If they both forgot, Asher definitely would not mind. At least Asher wasn't going to forget the funny face that Amelie made, from his gesture. "Well, you don't need a makeup artist to be the prettiest. So, winning that title's probably pretty special." Not that Amy needed to be pretty! Sure, the world was vain, but looks definitely weren't everything! Even though Asher even held himself to a certain standard for his own appearance, due to the importance of looks! And, while the song was kind of corny, the young man couldn't deny that a chance to dance with his date was something to appreciate. Perhaps, a lot of guys would complain or shuffle their feet, but it was something that Asher actually enjoyed. After all, it wasn't a common event normally, and there was a feeling of peace in such a situation. And, an easy moment to really focus on! With Venusmon controlling the sound, it shouldn't be much surprise that she tried to keep the music a little more romantic as the first song died down. Which, Asher would humor a little longer. At least, until a new idea came into mind. After all, the night was surely beginning to wind down, and their date was likely to come to a close soon. A short while into the song, the redhead eased away from dancing and moved to take one of Amy's hands. "Hey, he started, looking at the brunette for any reactions. After all, the suggestion might be something that Amy wouldn't enjoy the idea of in the slightest. "Do you want to take a walk outside?" And, if there was no sign of displeasure at the idea, Asher would slowly begin to lead Amy toward the door. There was no ulterior motive. And, hopefully, Amy would have been able to pick up on that. But, when considering some of the cheesy moments of their date, there was still one idea that was lacking. And, it was awfully convenient that they were in Whitewater, if anyone wanted to capitalize on it. After all, what was less cheesy than ending their date with a walk on the beach? But, if she didn't like the idea, Asher certainly wouldn't push it. It wasn't like staying at the club was a bad idea either!

Neither of them would ever give up, wouldn't they? Truthfully, Amelie knew that Asher was making a —bad— joke and that he wasn't probably wasn't delirious at all. Yet... she couldn't avoid being difficult; it was almost as if 'difficult' was her default state of being when Asher was close. Well, at least to an extent!
Was that something good or bad? Amy didn't know, but she couldn't say she wasn't enjoying the whole exchange! "I mean... if I haven't walked away, it doesn't mean you have done something particularly well. Just that you haven't screwed up badly enough for me to want to leave. That's how dates are supposed to work, in case you aren't aware."
A pregnant second had to pass for a smirk to take over the brunette's features. "Don't worry about that, though! I'm able to pick jokes just fine. If I had taken those comments seriously, then you could probably bet I would strongly consider leaving. Guess today's your lucky day."
Talk about egotistical right there! This almost would seem like a competition to a casual onlooker. Upon a moment of introspection, Amelie would probably admit that she had gone just a bit too far on several occasions. But it wasn't like there was time for that moment! Especially when she was too busy poking fun at her date.
"I'll give you that point." If the redhead made at least a slight effort, he'd notice that Amelie's expression was evidently mocking him. "If I remember correctly, there's an emperor who set Rome in flames. That's pretty delirious, don't you think?" Of course, that wasn't being very nice, but who'd say that the brunette would play nice. "Personally, I think it means outright crazy more often than not."
For some reason, she took the comments about a potential kidnapping in stride. Or at least, better than everything said about being delirious equating to a good thing. Maybe it was due to the funny face Asher was making at the moment? No way to know! "Oh~." She seemed a bit surprised at the statement. "Should've said you wanted to keep me on your basement all this time. It was wa~y easier than setting a blind date and that stu~ff, you know? Just te~ll me what you'd do to me once we rea~ch that point and we would be go~od!"
Maybe three seconds transcurred before those words were uttered for Amelie to begin laughing uncontrollably, and it took her a while to stop. Maybe she had drunk too much already? "And I~ was beginning to get hyped up about the whole deal. Su~ch a pity."
Before she could continue on with having fun at her date's expense, one simple sentence managed to disrupt her train of thought and throw it into disarray; 'I'm crushing on you'. Yes, Amy had more or less requested it, and even if it was jokingly, she hadn't expected for the redhead to actually comply!
At least the makeup was able to hide to an extent the fact that she was blushing. Why was she? The brunette had no idea; in any case, and after five or so seconds of silence, she managed to speak up again. "I-I still want to meet Whiskers, you kno~w? She sounds like she's a good girl."
It was a weird topic to bring in order to leave a dubious confession at the side. What was that addled mind thinking at the moment? Truthfully, even Amelie was unsure of that, yet she definitely hoped that the situation would diffuse to an extent, or at least for her heart to stop pounding. At least the topic would switch quickly enough, and to something that she could handle way more easily.
"Why~ Venice?" An impish grin was the natural reaction to that statement. "Once we go there, you~'ll get to see why."
Surprises were best left as just that, right? It was a good portion of their charm. And besides, it wasn't like she'd be able to do any kind of lengthy explanation considering both that she was drunk and the fact that she was already —and suddenly— facing yet another compliment. Right from the past, a portion of the blush returned, even if this time it could be controlled way more effectively.
"A~nd it seems that you need a fa~ir bit of alcohol in your system in order to throw some co~mpliments on your own will. It'sa fair tradeoff, I'd say!" Replying like that was undue, but considering how she had gotten her cheeks squished mere instants ago, no revenge seemed to be too tame. That was... their dynamic, more or less. And the truth was that in the face of a corny comment, many more would follow if she didn't put a stop to them! That wouldn't do
Luckily, Asher had been successfully dragged to the dance floor, and the truth was that Amy preferred him dancing than poking fun at her and/or forcing her to drink disgusting things. It was corny and on itself, but for a second, the teenager thought she understood him better like this.
As the second romantic-ish track died down, with her hand taken, an idea regarding what to do next was proposed. Asher's own look was reciprocated by Amy. "Outside?" The brunette parroted, a bit confused at first... just before realizing they were pretty much by the seaside. "Su~re. Let's do that. I~ was beginning to get a bit tired."
Unless any further issues were raised, she'd follow his lead and the pair would exit in relative silence, finally getting out of the club's noisy atmosphere and into the relative calm of the beach outside. The contrast was as stark as it could be; a nice change of pace, considering that hearing music at an uncomfortable volume got old after a while.
Honestly? Probably the best way to end the date, even if... the weather outside was just a little chilly, prompting Amelie to shiver a bit every now and then. But that was fine; it wasn't something she couldn't bear.
Once the pair found itself treading through the soft sand, Amy'd make a sign, as if telling Asher to stop. "Give me a second." Crouching down, she went through the motions to take her sandals off. Once she stood up again, she smiled a bit as she carried the pair with her spare hand. "Better. I~ was beginning to get a bit sore."
Would the pair just walk in silence as they held hands, or would somebody eventually break the would-be silence? Amelie herself just decided to enjoy the scenery, at least at first.
After enough time had passed, a lone question would escape her lips. "So, did... did you enjoy yourself tonight?"
Probably the only thing that mattered once everything has been said and done.

A smile remained on Asher's lips, even when Amy tried to argue his logic about her staying during the date. The wasabi incident had really been the only time he had to second guess anything! "I wouldn't have joked if I thought you were easily offended," he commented, still smiling. "Can't deny that I was lucky," he added, testing to see what would happen if he boosted the girl's ego any further. Truthfully, he was pretty lucky! With just about anyone else, he wouldn't be able to make jokes like he had been! He'd have to be more formal until he actually knew the person a little!
This was way better.
But, rather than debate the mechanics of a delirious person, Asher glanced around the room, and gave a curious hum. "Guess you'll have to decide if I'm genius or outright crazy, huh?" It was pretty obvious which way Amy would lean, with the two options! Especially considering all of their prior conversations! Asher certainly didn't come off as a genius!
As far as stealing someone and shoving them into his basement? "Hmm," he pondered for a moment, at Amy's response. Man, they were really weird, weren't they? Hopefully nobody had been eavesdropping on this conversation! On the bright side, his choice of words soon after -- albeit ones requested by Amy herself -- had seemed to fluster the brunette! Was she blushing? Between makeup and the lighting of the club, Asher wouldn't be able to tell. But, silence was entertaining enough! And, the diversion to a different topic only furthered this! A soft, "hah," slipped out of the redhead's smile, which would surely be drowned out by the music. There would never be a reason to clarify if he had only said it due to Amy telling him to, or out of being genuine.
Though, one could only assume the idea of Asher being genuine was a ridiculous one, anyway!
"Maybe you'll get to meet her next time. I think she'll like you." Little did Asher know how much Whiskers might like meeting Amy! Though, it was all dependent on the reason for their next meeting. Who knew what they'd be doing? Or when they'd even see each other again! Amy seemed like someone with potential to be a pretty busy person!
Taking another drink of his own beverage, the teen debated on what Venice had to offer. "Fine. I'll let you surprise me with why we have to go to Venice." Possibly because, what were the chances of them actually ever going to Venice together? Asher would estimate it was slim-to-none!
While it was tempting to say something further on Amelie's response to his compliment, Asher let it slide. After all, it was always easier to get a drunk girl to accept a compliment. Or to be more flustered by it. It wasn't entirely Asher's alcohol level that was important here! It was that he was judged far less when everyone wasn't in a normal state of mind! Was that a bad way of looking at it? Possibly. But, it certainly felt like a safer tactic.
And, once the dancing had ended and Amy accepted his offer to walk outside, they would soon head out of the club. An interesting thing that clubgoers may have noted was that the second the door closed on the two, the music returned to its normal upbeat genre. Weird how things like that worked out. Also weird how someone had pried Venusmon away from the DJ booth.
Hearing Amy's request for a moment, once they reached the sand, the spirit user paused, checking to make sure everything was alright. Instead, he found himself chuckling at her next words. "You could have told me that your feet hurt," he hummed, "would've had you sit down or something." Though, where was the fun in that, in a club? Asher really couldn't understand why women wore uncomfortable shoes so much!
Much like he couldn't understand how they wore cold looking clothes all the time. Perhaps, walking at night by the beach was ill-advised, when he didn't have a jacket to offer. There was a thoughtful moment, before he'd untangle fingers and gently put his arm around her -- provided she wouldn't move away from the act. "You look kind of cold," he murmured, flashing an apologetic smile. With any luck, he'd be able to help keep her warm, though!
And then, after another few moments, he'd hear Amy's question. Was there a bit of hesitancy in that question? Eyes shifted to stare at the brunette for a moment, debating his word choices. "I did, yeah," he started, thoughtfully. Was it common for people to ask that question? It felt like it should be a trap. "I'd like to think it was more fun than if it were a 'real' blind date." After all, there were certain formalities that had to be met, if a stranger had shown up! And joking could have been horribly awkward. Giving another pause, he turned the question back to her. "Wasabi beer aside, did you?"

Of course, their dynamic wouldn't stop right there! In all honesty, it was a bit surprising how Asher himself insisted on telling her that she should walk away! Was this some kind of self-sabotage, or maybe a cheap attempt at reverse psychology? Amelie herself didn't know, and in all honesty, didn't care.
Another very different matter, however, was the redhead's bait-and-switch strategy. While the brunette didn't know what he wanted to accomplish, it wasn't like she would object against a compliment thrown her way, despite its degree of sincerity being a bit on the questionable side. The obvious result? A confident smirk took over her features.
"About time." She said, just a tiny bit smugly. "Somehow, you even look a little cuter when you admit one or two plain truths. Should do that a bit more frequently, you know?"
All in all, even if Asher managed to fluster her a bit every now and then, it didn't mean she'd have to react on the exact same way every time, right? Especially when facing rather subtle comments. Ultimately, she ended up shrugging. "I wish I knew you enough to say whether you're a genius or just crazy. Who knows! Maybe if we hang out again, I'll be able to form a more concise opinion."
Between the alcohol finally making some kind of effect on Amelie's mind and the topics getting funny, yet mostly weird, the conversation progressed more or less smoothly. At least until the impromptu (yet somewhat requested?) confession. Setting aside the fact that she was unable to tell whether this was genuine or teasing —and that she could see from a mile away that asking that wouldn't end in a concise response—, the brunette seemed to be a bit thoughtful in regards to her date's next comment. What kind of digimon would Whiskers be? Considering that she had to deal with Asher on a daily basis, there were mainly two options; either she had the patience of a saint, or was pretty good at returning his witty comments.
"We pro~bably have a fair share of things in common. That much I can gue~ss!" That statement was left hanging in the air. What would those things be? Maybe they would be found out the next time they met if the redhead decided to bring his feline sidekick with him. Maybe it would remain forever shrouded in mystery or something similarly spooky! No real way to know.
Amy nodded sagely when Asher relented in regards with their would-be trip to one of the prettiest cities in the whole world. "Le~ave everything to me! It won't be a trip yo~u'll regret, of that much you can be sure!"
Some words and a good while dancing later, the duo found themselves, walking at a pretty tranquil rhythm, especially now that Amelie wasn't dealing with the relative uncomfortableness of her sandals. A nice way to end the day, wasn't it?
Using the same hand that was carrying her previously-worn footwear, the brunette waved rather dismissively. "Sto~p? Naah, that'd have been boring. Do you thi~nk I'm a stick in the mu~d or something like that?" And, after a not-so-small pause, she added. "Be~sides, I was having a lot of fun. It wa~s worth it."
The girl would stare, a bit of puzzlement evident on her eyes when the pair's hands unlinked, but before she could comment on the act, she felt an arm gently wrapped around her shoulder. While initially surprised at the gesture, Amy didn't seem to be bothered by it. In fact, and maybe to Asher's bewilderment, the brunette would lean into the contact, going as far as to reciprocate the gesture by wrapping her own arm around his waist.
"Huh." She hummed, faking dumbfoundedness. "That's weird. I~ don't really feel cold at all, you know? Ma~ybe you're just imagining things."
They walked in silence for a couple of minutes like that, and while act on itself was truly enjoyable, Amy felt the need to end it, mostly because the alcohol was beginning to seriously weigh her down and she didn't want to make... that much of a fool out of herself.
Besides, it felt kinda fitting to end things here. "I'm glad." In a rare display, Amelie smiled rather genuinely before adopting a thoughtful expression when she got her own question asked back at her.
Amy stopped on her spot. The arm around Asher retracted, digging into her dress' pocket and retrieving her D-Tector. After fiddling with it for longer than what she should have if she were sober, a portal began shimmering mere meters away from them.
Would Amelie exit without answering that question...?
A bit suddenly, she turned to face Asher, her eyes staring directly into his for a second before leaning into his ear. "I had fun." She whispered in a barely audible tone. "I wouldn't mind dating you again. Whether blind or not."
After quickly pecking his cheek, she disengaged before any response could be conjured, gave him one last smile, waved goodbye, then jumped inside the portal, promptly leaving Asher to his own devices.
Once everything had been said and done, only one thing could be taken from certain in regards to this encounter. In the distance, hidden from any kind of prying eyes, there was a Venusmon gazing at the whole exchange while sighing, obviously elated.
Her mission had been an utter success! [Exit Thread]

It was so tempting to ruin that smug expression! But, Asher figured he should probably be nice to his date. This time. "If I did it more frequently, it wouldn't be one or two!" Asher protested, with a small laugh. Though, maybe if Amy spent more time with the redhead, she'd be able to discern his truths and his jokes, along with if he was genius or just crazy!
Though, Asher would have to hope that Amelie and his partner would get along when they met. He was more than slightly aware of Whiskers being a strange feline to deal with. Perhaps, like most cats, she could be a bit temperamental with the wrong person. Or a dog person, like Amy was. But, as long as Amy didn't open up the conversation with 'dogs are better', he couldn't really see the feline having any problems with her! The only times he had real issues with the Meicoomon was, honestly, whenever a canine was nearby. Or when she had been frustrated about faking being a cat for months straight, without anyone in the household to talk to on a normal level!
He'd definitely leave Whiskers at home for a trip to Venice, though. Putting a Digimon on a plane surely wouldn't go over well. Though, he was starting to get a little worried that Amy was serious about this adventure! He'd signed up for it already, though, so there was no backing out if she was! After all, she dealt with the Wasabi Beer Challenge! Asher could handle a Venice challenge, surely!
Asher wouldn't worry about any regrets during their dance, however. Or, their exit from the club. The actor couldn't help but give a smile at her statement about having fun. "As long as it's worth it for your feet to hurt!" He may have wanted to leave a good impression, but he certainly wouldn't be offering to give her a foot massage after all was said and done! But, it had to be considered a compliment in a way, that their date had been worth someone's aches and pains. He had to face that Amy was probably going to hate her feet the next day.
Though, it had to be considered a success too, at Amelie's reaction to Asher putting his arm around her! Feeling her lean into it, a blush found its way on to his face. But, Amy just wouldn't let him have a nice moment with his logic to try to keep her warm, would she? "May~be I just needed an excuse," he joked, giving a tiny shrug to avoid causing any discomfort to the brunette's position. She couldn't honestly deny that the shivering didn't mean she was cold! But, the redhead would let it slide. After all, it was a cute moment!
The silence in response to the question being turned back to her as a little worrisome initially. But, the nerves began to settle as the teen watched his date fuss with her digivice. He tried to avoid snickering about it, instead settling to think it was another cute quirk of drunkeness. After all, if someone couldn't find some entertainment from it, it would be pretty disappointing!
Just like it would have been if Amy had left without an answer! Just as the young man was beginning to think he'd be left with a mystery, his answer was found. Yellow eyes gave an innocent blink when they were matched with the blue eyes of his date. And, they remained in innocent expression, when she leaned in to answer. And, like that, she was already getting ready to leave. Returning the smile, the redhead lifted a hand to wave, before she disappeared and left him by himself.
Once the portal vanished, Asher lifted a finger to tap his cheek, and gave a small hum. "Cute," he murmured to himself, before lowering his hands to be placed into his pockets. A small beep emitted from one, and black feathers began to swirl around his feet to signify a digivolution. Was it frowned upon to fly after having a few drinks? Ah, well. It was one of the faster options to return to his home for the night.
If only the two had known that the 'person' to be blamed for their blind date had been watching the whole time!
[End Thread.]
