The mood of the crowd had an electric quality to it - with the return of two very impressive fighters duking it out in the next round. Seeing no reason to hold back any longer, Luke and Bellamy addressed the crowd from their commentary box. Well at least Luke did. "Welcome back to round two, where two of the winners will now face each other in the arena!" Luke said, as Bellamy was dabbing MTT-brand anime powder behind his ear. "Oh, crap, we're on?!" the Impmon asked, grabbing his microphone. "Ah, right! So, uh, East side we have... Alicia Westfield the wielder of the fearsome metal spirits!""And on the west side, returning to us we have Ban the Leomon!" Luke added. "So, when both fighters are ready, let the next match begin!"
Rules are as follows. 1. Post within a week of it being your turn, otherwise you will concede the match to the other player. 2. Do not kill your opponent, aim to knock them out. 3. No digivolving beyond what your opponent is capable of. 4. This match is non-canon, so don't worry about where this is in your characters' stories. 5. Please don't attack on your first post. This post is meant for introductions. You may begin the fight on your 2nd post. I have flipped a coin, and it will seem Alicia has the first post. Alicia Westfield Ban/Double D

Alicia counted herself quite fortunate. Her low damage from the last round gave her plenty of time to consider how to proceed. Perhaps despite her admissions to Beverly, the strength she’d displayed would make her opponent concerned and hesitant to engage in a brawl with her. Eh… That was probably a pipe dream. Regardless, it was her time to shine again. She stepped into the ring and tossed her D-Scanner a bit, letting it twirl through the air before falling upon her palm again.
“I’ll cede the right to choose the level of engagement to you, Ban. I heard you fought at the Champion level in your last match, but I can go up to Ultimate. I’m comfortable at both levels but am not entirely sure what your limit currently is. Show me how far you want to go, please?”
”Are you sure you want to give your opponent so much control over the opening flow?” Sol asked within the confines of the redhead’s mind.
“In the end, I’m flexible enough to most likely make up for any advantage such an option gives him. If he can go Ultimate… well, I can bring out my strongest spirit forms so far.” Alicia whispered back with a confident smile.
”I will laugh if this sends you to losers bracket.” Kisara noted oh-so-helpfully.
Note: Alicia has not evolved to any form yet. She’ll wait for Ban to reveal his form choice before evolving to the appropriate level.

Ban stepped into the arena, examining his foe, and rotating his broad shoulders, as she spoke. He sat there, silent, for a moment, as if pondering her words, before he spoke in a booming voice, "I am capable of the form you see before you, at the moment, I lack the strength to digivolve further, right now. I urge you to realize that this will be more than a match of strength." He stated, surprisingly eloquently, as he squared his shoulders and gripped his blade, but not pulling it from his sheath. His stance alone radiated wisdom and age, as well as his speech patterns. It was immediately clear he was a relatively old warrior.
He was not going to underestimate his foe, no matter what form she took, and he wasn't going to let this battle drag on for too long, as she might just have nasty tricks up her sleeve. That did not mean he would act recklessly, however, he had no clue what defensive abilities she bore, but he found it safe to assume her durability would be above average, due to his opponent's supposedly metal elemental abilities.
"I will admit, this will be the first time I have confronted a human mind. Show me your strength. Physical and otherwise." He basically ordered his foe, as he waited for her to transform. He was ready to engage now, but he was not so boorish as to interrupt her transformation. He would wait for her to complete her transformation, then the match would begin. He showed her he was ready, now for her to make her move. Truth be told, even if he didn't show it, he was excited to learn his opponent's abilities and the basics of spirit evolution, in general.

The redheaded Spirit Wielder hummed softly and nodded as Ban informed her that his current maximum was the noble Leomon form before her. “I see.” she returned with a nod, her expression stiffening as her eyes glimmered with hidden power. Even among Spirit Wielders, she was quite the oddity. She’d wanted to stretch her older forms out a bit anyways, so this played well to her wishes. But what to start with?
“A path of reforged Steel lies before me, I now cast off the scarred shell! Spirit Evolution!” With a more generalized edit of one of her oldest chants, the bearer of Steel invoked the second form she’d ever laid claim to. Folding her arms against her chest and kneeling down, her power too form as the eponymous shell, marred and pitted with rust. Within her transformed self began to flex and push against the corroded waste. A large chunk was broken off as a glimmered steel arm tipped with sharp claws broke through, the rest falling shortly as the now-dragonoid woman stood proud, her white and black chains taking their places on her left arm and right shoulder respectively.
“Steeldramon!”
Alicia grinned, deciding to start lightly as she had with the previous match. Taking a deep breath, she put one foot forward and exhaled with a roar, “Shot Blade!” From her maw steel was hammered and shaped appropriately, before being launched out as daggers at the wise lion. A ranged attack to begin with, but when she was done firing, the Steeldramon began to slowly close the distance, a cautious walk forward indicating her opening attack was just a probe to try and bait out Ban’s capabilities.

Starting lightly, she opens with Shot Blade to see how Ban reacts.

Fascinating. It seemed the human's evolution required some form of chant before changing. Regardless, a fearsome beast emerged, it's entire body being a blade. Long been already transformed, Ban had no impressive display to match his foe's, but he wouldn't have performed such theatrics anyways. She started with a barrage of blades towards him, obviously probing Ban's defenses.
The warrior was having none of it, as he stamped his foot, preparing for the incoming blades, before throwing out his most powerful move, immediately, "Fist of The Beast King!" He roared, pitching a fireball the size of his massive fist, before the flame released itself outwards, fanning out and resembling a cartoon depiction of a sun, with curves prongs that were constantly flickering and dancing in a circle. The center of the blast mutated into a snout with glaring eyes and a roaring mouth. Any of the blades that came into contact with the explosive energy were either knocked aside of destroyed. Of course, some of the blades missed the burst of energy, and jabbed into some points of his body, such as his shoulder, one in his stomach, and one scraping his left leg, and he raised his hand that had just fired to protect his face.
He had immediately taken a gamble, but that isn’t something his opponent would expect, going all out from the start, he would need to be careful, if she was a ranged fighter, he had just blown his only ranged attack, and would be helpless if she kept her distance. He had yet to see how quick her thinking was, or the limitations of her evolution, and as such, kept himself on his toes, figuratively and literally.
Battle Log: Ban immediately pressured his opponent with his strongest and only ranged attack, to counter her weaker ranged attack. Fist of The Beast King (Fires an aura in the shape of a lion’s head from his fist, heavy impact, Cool down: 2 posts) Fist of The Beast King absorbed the majority of knives but Ban still took some damage from the leftover knives.
Active Passive:Valiant Heart (Passive: attack increases the more severely damaged Leomon becomes, bonus: minimal)

“Oh my.” Alicia’s eyes went wide as the great lion decided to ramp this up into overdrive right out the gate. Still, the massive energy blast coming her way forced her to suddenly jerk to the side and more-or-less dive for safety. And yet… with her vocal reaction only slightly rising from surprise, it appeared that this possibility had already been acknowledged in her mind. As such, the Leomon would see her rolling back to her feet, a smirk on her face.
“An… interesting development...” she muttered to herself as her smirk grew larger. The Steeldramon pushed off hard, rushing at Ban. The thing about Alicia was that, depending on her form, she wasn’t strictly long or close range focused. She could juggle the two fairly well depending on how she decided to play the situation out.
Perhaps the lion would notice her taking a few moments during her charge to flick her gaze about, as if searching for something… the daggers that were blown off course possibly? She seemed to have a plan in mind that she was going to execute at some point. For now, she was upon him with her claws gleaming.
“Rending Claws!” She howled as she tried to push back on the Leomon’s own pressure with some of her own, a flurry of quick but precise strikes from both hands lashing out to slash her opponent. If only he knew she wasn’t exactly going all out yet… Of the three forms at her disposal, Steeldramon was, on paper, the weakest of the three.
Certainly still a threat, but she had more power to bring out should it become necessary.
Battle Log
Alicia deftly evades the Fist of the Beast King, keeping a cool head, and then rushes at Ban. His destructive power at range now known, she attacks with Rending Claws to get a better picture of the lion’s close range power.

Immediately after attacking, Ban started picking the blades out of his body, collecting them in one of his hands, they were far too small to use effectively, for his massive hands, so he just started bending their blades, due to how thin the metal used to shape them was. He watched his opponent immediately close the distance, this was what he expected would happen, and he was more comfortable in a brawl anyways. However, the durable metal surrounding his foes body meant it would be reckless to attack her with his fists or feet.
He noted how his opponent took a glance at her surroundings as she approached, she seemed to be a schemer, so she undoubtedly had a plan up her sleeve. However, if he could make her underestimate his abilities a bit more, than she would no doubt overestimate her own abilities, and whatever plan she was brewing would lose some of it's edge. That would be his priority, for now, and he would wait for a chance to counterattack. For now, he would allow her to pressure him, he may even need to take some attacks in exchange for maintaining this deception.
He tossed aside the handful of blades and ignored his minimal wounds, as he took the same stance as before, backing away from his charging opponent, and making his sword arm glow with energy, as he brought it up, his entire arm was coated in energy, not just his fist this time, and this energy was much more solid-looking, it was immediately apparent this energy was not intended to launch an attack, as he brought it up, defending against her claws, as they scraped off of it's surface harmlessly, as he continued stepping back, making an obvious effort to focusing on defense as she kept attacking him with her claws, as the energy barrier only affected his arm, forcing him to actively parry her attacks.
Ability Used: Beast King’s Shield (forearms glow with energy and repel energy and close ranged attacks, endures up to one high-damaging attack,)
Durations: Beast King's Shield 1/1
Cooldowns: Fist of The Beast King 1/2 Beast King's Shield 0/3
Active Passives: Valiant Heart (Passive: attack increases the more severely damaged Leomon becomes, current attack bonus: minimal)
Summary: Ban removed the blades from his body, but the wounds naturally still remain, and parried Steeldramon's attack with his Beast King's Shield ability,

Alicia quirked an eyebrow as she watched him bend the daggers that had scored impacts on him earlier. A pity, she would’ve liked to have been able to, say, kick one such dagger in deeper as she bounded away. Alas, that was not an option.
What peaked her curiosity was that he again expended a large amount of energy in short period of time. It left his arm harder than her claws could feasibly slice through, leaving them scraping off the glowing arm harmlessly. “Hmm...” This was actually better than she could’ve imagined. Such a powerful barrier probably couldn’t be used in rapid succession. She had only intended to get a feel for if he was a sturdy yet mobile ranged fighter or if he stuck true to his appearance as a powerful close up user of fisticuffs. Instead she’d managed to bait out probably his only defensive move.
Perfect. One final claw strike ended differently. Instead of pulling away, it instead slid up farther and grasped Ban’s arm. With a grunt of effort, Alicia hauled herself up into the air using that arm and swung her leg in, planting it on his neck and shoving off. That move launched her away from the powerful lion, immediately opening up a fair amount of distance again. As she leaped back, though, she launched her chains out and whipped them about over the ground.
Discarded daggers along the earth were sent flying airborne again, and she whipped her chains about, securing those blades within their ‘grasp’. “Chain Lasher!”
As the Steeldramon dropped back to the ground, she gave her arms a swing, launching the now bladed metal ‘whips’ at Ban with great speed, the beginning of another powerful rush attack, but this time from mid-range.
Perhaps at this point the Leomon might realize something concerning about Alicia. Just as she was comfortable fighting at different levels… so too did range not matter to her in the long run. She was at home both getting in the opponent’s face and trading fire from a far. And she didn’t even really suffer that much from the decentralized spread. This attack was far more dangerous than it otherwise would be because of her clever use of an attack that had mostly failed earlier.
Given how little energy it took her to pull this off, she could keep this up for quite a while unless he was able to solidly disrupt her efforts somehow. He’d probably need to force her to change tactics completely to do this.
Battle Log
Alicia launches herself away from Ban with a jump and a kick off of him, and scrounges up Shot Blade daggers laying around for earlier, wrapping her chains around their hilts tightly.
With the daggers reclaimed to increase their power, Alicia strikes with Chain Lasher from a distance.

He had figured those chains would have a use, and she showed exceptional agility, he wouldn't be able to afford much more of this distance play. However, since she furthered the distance between the two, he could use this to bluff some more, as he staggered back from her dramatic flip away from him. He noticed her lift up her daggers from before, it seemed she specialized in recycling her own attacks, he would need to be careful about his own blade, as she could surely find a way to use that against him.
He drew his blade, parrying some of the incoming chains targeted at his more important body, but he still took some fierce lashing from the rest of the attacks he wasn't fast enough to deflect. "King Lion!" He growled swinging his blade upwards, catching some of the chains targeted at his legs as he crouched down, before jumping backwards, as he had forced the majority of the chains into targeting his torso specifically, with his blade as he performed his maneuver leading him to narrowly avoid the rest of the assault, as he fell backwards, planting his hands on the ground behind him, before pushing himself back even further, creating distance between the two. He continued backing away from her, stepping backwards, one foot at a time
He too had a plan, but playing defensive was his only option right now, and he was now focused on making her chase him around the arena, forcing her to keep up the pressure. He was taking a nasty amount of damage, while she hadn't taken much in response. This was expected, with his plan, but it still wasn't looking very good for him, all things considered. He had to act quickly when opportunity presents itself, or this battle would tear him apart. He couldn't help but feel he was mimicking his previous opponent, by keeping a distance.
Ability Used: Beast Sword (Slashes with his “Lion King” Sword, No cooldown)
Cooldowns: Fist of The Beast King 2/2 Beast King's Shield 1/3
Active Passives: Valiant Heart (Passive: attack increases the more severely damaged Leomon becomes, current attack bonus: lower than moderate)
Summary: Ban parried some but nowhere near all of the chains, before striking some of them away as he somersaulted backwards, creating distance between the two.

Alicia quirked an eyebrow, noticing how the mighty lion seemed to stumble under her when she used his body as a convenient launch pad. How… odd to say the least. His body seemed quite solid under her foot. Was she over-estimating his ability? The possibility existed, but she seriously doubted it. Still, it was nice to see how effective her synergistic blade chains were against him. He was fast, but her whips appeared to legitimately be faster. Sure, she had two to his single sword, but every advantage she had could push the match over the tipping point.
So... why did she feel like she wasn’t as safe as she appeared to be? Something was starting to feel fishy about this whole thing. Things weren’t adding up in her head about what she was seeing about him and how he was acting.
Still, seeing him retreat gave her reason to feel secure in her position. He was outside her effective range at the moment, yes. But so too was she far outside his effective range. At this distance, evading another Fist of the Beast King would be child’s play. This particular neutral stance greatly favored her, so at first glance there was no need to pursue him so aggressively. Waiting for him to break the stalemate worked to her advantage, for he had to endure her effective range for sometime before being able to close in enough to strike back.
And yet, there was that thought at the back of her mind. He had just recently used an ability that made her realize that waiting was not entirely ideal for her either. That move that made his entire arm glow and harden… even with the optimum strike distance, she wouldn’t bet on her chains being able to injure him through that. Combined with his sword, there was a very real chance he could just bulldoze through her mid-range rush and catch her on the back foot.
Still, she was well aware that his ranged attack hadn’t been used again for a short while. She had moves that required a similar “cool down” period before she could safely call upon them again in other forms too. If she was right… That energy orb could probably come out again at any moment if she was careless.
Her choice was made. The Steeldramon moved to pursue the Leomon. Once more her blade-gripped chains were flicked out towards the Leomon rapidly once she was in range. Something was a little different this time though. She maintained her maximum possible range instead of allowing herself to stray too much closer. And after the first few strikes, she pulled one chain back, holding it in reserve for… something… She also stayed very light on her feet, hopping a bit with each lash she made.
She was anticipating the possibility that Ban was waiting for her to chase him to fire off his Fist of the Beast King again, or something similar.
Battle Log
Alicia, after a brief moment to analyze the state of the match, moves to chase Ban and attack again with Chain Lasher.
However, she engages at maximum range, and after a bit holds one arm back in reserve. It weakens the Chain Lasher when she does it, but leaves options open for Alicia to better react to whatever Ban responds with.

It seemed her chains were one of her casual attacks. She was still keeping her distance, naturally, so he would force her to approach, eventually. This whole endeavor was proving fruitless, as she could continue assaulting him from a distance comfortable to her. Pretending he was a ranged combatant wouldn't last much longer, and she seemed to already be preparing for a counterattack of some sort, no doubt to the abilities he had previously displayed.
This did weaken her attack, to the extent he could parry with his blade and duck and weave to avoid her chains from only one of her arms. In an instant, he pivoted on one of his legs, spinning to avoid the latest lashing, as he slammed his foot down on a number of her chains, crashing his paw onto the ground, and trapping his foe’s weapon under his foot. He took another stance sheathing his blade, preparing to counter her next move.
For the first time in the match, he glared at her, with his steely green gaze, “You will have to forgive me, but I’m done warming up, now. Feel free to attack freely, now.” He affirmed, nodding towards her. He said it, without changing his stern expression, but his eyes showed a fire that wasn’t there before. Wounded as he was, he relished a battle of strength, and seeing his opponent’s abilities first-hand, he couldn’t help but drop all pretenses, wishing to engage in his preferred combat.
Perhaps this could be seen as bravado, or him still having a plan, but in reality all he wanted, right now, was a good fight. He wasn’t that good at one-on-one strategizing anyways, he never has been, this far he was merely pretending to be capable of such a thing. Regardless, a part of him still hoped she would attempt to approach, and the two could fight without holding anything back, anymore. Besides, he had just challenged her with his words, surely she wouldn’t back down from a challenge like that? He believed humans to be somewhat prideful creatures, and insulting anyone’s ability to fight was often reason enough to stop holding back.
Ability Used: Crushing Kick (Kicks opponent fiercely, no cooldown)
Cooldowns: Beast King's Shield 2/3
Active Passives: Valiant Heart (Passive: attack increases the more severely damaged Leomon becomes, current attack bonus: slightly lower than moderate)
Summary: Ban took a little damage from her chains, but avoided them, for the majority, and pinned her attacking chains with his foot, using his Crushing Kick attack. He suddenly shifted tactics, outright challenging Alicia to fight harder.

No attack came, which made her hum curiously. He had played purely defensive when faced with this as well. Perhaps the wise lion realized that attempting Fist of the Beast King in this scenario would prove fruitless? But then he made a move, stamping down on her chain and putting an end to her assault. That and his words to her were the final nail in this coffin, Ban had been trying to pull the wool over her eyes.
“I see.” She returned to him at his declaration of being done with warming up. “If our battle is moving into it’s next stage, then I suppose I should oblige and begin to truly fight.” She smiled as her black chain, the one he had stomped to the ground, turned to wisps of black smoke that fled from him and began to coil around her.
“Stained Steel shall be hidden in shadows. Slide Evolution!” Another chant, as the smoke began to thicken around her. She was changing forms. Wings tore through the dark mist and spread wide, dispersing it. Alicia’s new form was revealed, a dark blue body suit subtly glimmering in the light as she knelt down, one hand tracing along her own shadow. Her tail lashed into the Leomon’s view, revealing it’s bladed tip to him immediately as Alicia smiled.
“ShadowArmsdramon!” She wasn’t quite done yet. Her fingers seemed to actually sink into her shadow, letting her ‘grip’ it and pull up. She stood as she did, which actually tore the shadow off the ground, and before her opponent’s eyes the newly transformed ninja dragon shaped the once mass-less darkness into a weapon of war. One that would be very familiar to him.
She brandished her shaped shadow and hummed, having molded it into a copy of his Lion King Sword. “The true match begins now.” Alicia declared with confidence, as she flicked her hands, snapping three smaller blades out from the gauntlets. Perhaps it would be difficult for him to approach her still, staring down so much steel whether shadowed or real. It also completely invalidated all of his earlier observations. He would have to start anew, while Alicia already had a firm grasp on his abilities.
Alas, transforming left the ball in his court, though Alicia did move to carefully pace forward. She was in no rush to meet him directly, and it concealed just how swift she was in this form. Even without the cover of night to boost her speed, she figured it was likely she could out maneuver him.
Battle Log:
Alicia takes the moment offered by Ban to stop ‘warming up’ to Slide into ShadowArmsdramon. She also uses the time to create a copy of Ban’s Lion King Sword out of her shadow thanks to “Always Armed by Darkness.”
Alicia begins to approach slowly, but by transforming she has surrendered the first serious move to Ban.

His opponent was quite perceptive, and she seemed to become as excited as him, for the incoming fight. Oddly enough, she started chanting again, to which Ban raised his brow, "it couldn't be..." He muttered, aghast as she changed forms. He watched her summon a blade of her own, which mirrored his own. His jaw held slack, as he watched her, bit then he closed his mouth, returning his stern composure. "Impressive. I was not expecting such a transformation." He admitted, approaching her as she approached him, mimicking her pace.
When the two faced each other, he eyed her blade, before staring her in the eyes, "That blade complements my fighting style, can you say the same?" He asked, his eyes blazing with fire, as he clutched his blade, still in it's hilt, "You had better prove yourself worthy of that blade, it is a dear possession of mine." He instructed her, while taking his stance, sticking out his arm, while the other clutched at his blade. Seeing as she bore a blade of her own, he would be using his blade much more frequently, to challenge his foe's own skill.
It was as if the wounds from before were meaningless to him, as he still held plenty of stamina, and the willpower to continue for as long as necessary, and the fact his opponent had thus far evaded damage from him, and he could tell she was excited as well. This was what he needed, a brawl like this to clear his mind, and just enjoy himself, as warriors do, he had underestimated just how much fun he could have in this tournament.
He stood there, staring his opponent down, waiting for her to make another movement, after he took his stance, before he lunged forward, swinging his blade horizontally towards her, intending to clash blades, to test her strength in this form, primarily, as well as other ideas, like reaction speed, overall speed, and balance of movement. This initial attack was a form of probe that would force her to respond.
Ability Used: Beast Sword (Slashes with his “Lion King” Sword, No cooldown) Cooldowns: Beast King's Shield 3/3
Active Passives: Valiant Heart (Passive: attack increases the more severely damaged Leomon becomes, current attack bonus: slightly lower than moderate)
Summary: He approached her, challenging her skill with a sword, before taking a stance and lunging forward, and slashing at her general area.

Alicia smiled under her mask with the Leomon’s surprised expression and admission. “I’m quite the flexible fighter with many aces up my sleeve.” She then notes the blade she held in time with his. His concern was fairly understandable, the Lion King Sword was a sizable blade forged with the Leomon’s stature and figure in mind. Still... “I’d be an embarrassment to the very Element of Steel if I couldn’t make good use of any weapon I wield. And my third champion form has left me quite familiar with the way of the sword.” With that she revealed that she still had one more rather large ace up her sleeve, even beyond this form. Perhaps it could be taken as over confidence, being so sure of victory that tipping ones hand a bit early no longer mattered. Alicia knew better though, this battle was still very much in the air.
She settled into a familiar stance for her, sliding one leg back to be able to better brace herself, and holding her blade close to her at an upwards diagonal with her free arm tucked close to her body. True, normally she had a shield on that hand, but she could make do without it. This form was faster than SolSaberdramon so it could feasibly add clever evasions to her list of defensive actions.
Her stance left her in a prime position to react to Ban’s lungs and slash. Her own blade was immediately interposed between his and her body, and the distinct clang of steel hitting steel rang through the arena, stopping the great lion’s own weapon. But even the untrained eye would realize something about the clash. Despite her own strength, he now outclassed her. In fact, his blade had struck with much more force than she had anticipated, and her eyes widened in obvious surprise. Blocking him outright was not going to be in the cards for very long. So she changed tracks, their blades grinding against each other harshly as she twisted her blade around heaved up with her arms while ducking her body down.
With that motion, she parried his blade so it went over her head while she dashed to his side, away from Ban’s weapon. “Hmmmmm...” Now that she had gotten over her surprise, she narrowed her eyes in consideration. How was it that he was so powerful, far beyond what even his physique suggested...? Even her SolSaberdramon form couldn’t afford to match power with Ban at this rate... “Looks like I need to be even more wary than before...” Narrowing her eyes she rushed in against Ban, delivering a trio of quick stabbing thrusts.
All the while, she was trying to figure out the secret behind the Leomon’s surprising power. Was it time based? Damage based? Something else unrelated? She just didn’t know enough...
Battle log
Alicia just barely manages to block and then parry Ban’s sword, but it’s immediately obvious he is much stronger than her at this point.

His opponent responded to his charge, and he immediately grasped several concepts about her form. She responded to his attack with impressive speed, and if he had tried rushing her with multiple attacks, she could have easily outpaced him and parried. The overpowering slash to her side had been the correct choice, as her strength, while impressive, wasn't powerful enough to defend herself from his raw might. She had no choice but to parry the strike, before panic had made her buckle. Her thought process and instincts were in the right place, he could tell she was experienced in combat, as her reaction speed was more than just instinct, it was trained, and sharpened over some time. He had not believed humans to be capable of such expertise in combat.
Ban was off-balance, for a moment, as she forced distance between the two, and it seemed he had no intention of fixing that, but he did fix his balance back to his core, spinning the small ring at the handle of his blade on his pinky, spinning it up to right-handed position. He doubted he foe would allow many more contests of strength, which his back-handed wielding of his blade favored. She charged at him, obviously wishing to test his defenses. Well, she should know what the best defense is.
He braced his arm, as if he was preparing to parry her, as he turned towards her, before he suddenly spun to his left, turning away from her strikes, moving his body away from her attacks, although they did scratch his back, leaving noticeable cuts. He pivoted on his right foot, and tucked his left to his stomach, and leaned back, before extending his leg outwards, capitalizing on his own blade's short range and intending to out range her with his whole mighty leg. The strike came from below, and targeted her stomach with his counterattack.
