Sailing 'cross the ocean, looking for adventure, another epic journey is about to unfold. Dante thought he had seen it all, but a Tamer's work is never done. With his Digimon partner Wormmon by his side, Dante looks forward to seeing what new lands have to offer. Also accompanying them are Dante's wannabe pop idol sister Judith, and the perverted computer genius Shirou. The four of them are traveling to a far off chain of islands. While Judith sees this as an island vacation, Shirou has some ulterior motives. No surprise there.
Dante is wearing lightweight white and tan robes with a red scarf that matches his red hair, and a hood to keep the sunlight off his face if needed. Shirou is wearing a white and blue tracksuit with a matching fedora, and his dark hair is longer than usual. Judith is currently wearing a yellow two piece bikini to match her blonde hair, but has packed a change of clothes as well. Wormmon is nude, as most Digimon are prone to be, other than a sailor's hat to match with the nautical theme.
Dante leans against the railing, looking out upon the open waters. Judith is currently sunbathing, with a circle drawn in chalk around her that Shirou is not allowed to cross. There were not many ships that travel to these islands, so there are others on board as well. Wormmon crawls up Dante's leg and rests on his shoulder.
"Are we there yet, Dante?" "Not yet. You'll know when we see it."
Wormmon lets out a sigh, waiting impatiently for the ship to arrive. Just over the horizon, Dante can see several large mountains piercing up above the water.
"Look, there they are. I heard that the volcanoes are always active."
Wormmon squints his eyes, and is taken back by the majestic site.
"Wow! Look at all that lava. Are you sure this area is safe?" "It must be. There's a whole civilization there, mostly cut off from the outside world."
Shirou comes walking up behind them. He takes off his glasses and wipes the lenses with a cloth before putting them back on.
"Yes, the key word there being "mostly". I can tell, this is a lucrative trading post in waiting. I will negotiate with those in charge, and soon I'll be raking in bits and gold like never before!" "So that's why you wanted to come here, to set up a trade route." "That, and I heard there's beautiful women on the islands." "If there was, they would probably be Digimon, you dirty weasel." "Digimon, humans, what's the difference? Ladies are ladies, and I can tell that there's a whole island full of beautiful chicks just waiting for me to get my hands on them."
Judith overhears the conversation and scoffs at Shirou's comments.
"Typical. He can't keep his hormones in check. Why am I not surprised?" "That's enough out of you! Not unless you want me to rub sunscreen on you." "Keep dreaming. Actually, I do need someone to cover my back. Dante, will you-" "Eww gross! There's no way I'm rubbing sunscreen on you. You're my sister." "Oh grow up!" "I'll help you, Judith!"
Wormmon hops down and crawls as fast as he can over to Judith. He squeezes out a big pile of sunscreen on Judith's back and starts rubbing it in.
"Well this is certainly a horrible way to start our trip." "Horribly right."
While the four of them continue to make a scene, the ship continues to sail closer and closer to the islands. What awaits them at the Spears of Megiddo? Who else is on board? Little did they know, but this was not going to be the vacation the slightly orange Judith expects.

Some were aboard the small vessel for vacation. For another, it was a mixture of business and pleasure. To the left of the main group, John Davis rested against the cold metal railing with arms crossed. He was not really paying much attention to his surroundings. Moreover, his eyes remained locked on the briny depths below while he smiled somewhat gently. The wet speckles of the sea felt nice in contrast to the sun's rays. It was as if he was watching for something. His gaze scanned different areas of the water's surface.
While in his own little world, the human could not help but overhear the conversation from the others nearby. It was enough to pull his attention from the water. John eyed the group for a moment, the smile fading somewhat while he tried not to listen in. Well, the best way to meet new people was to introduce yourself.
"You guys are heading to the islands too, huh?" He asked, the smile somewhat returning while he stood upright. His hands grasped the railing, and his posture took on a casual display. "This is my first time heading out there. I hear that it's a unique place to visit. Do you know what I can expect out there?"

The ship has almost reached the main island. Dante looks forward to lounging on the beach with a tropical drink. Wormmon continues massaging the sunscreen onto Judith's back. One of the other travelers approaches the gang, asking about the islands.
"Ya, we're going there for the first time as well. I've heard about the volcanoes, and exotic plant life, but don't know much else about it."
Dante had not met the man before, but he seems friendly enough.
"My name is Dante. This is Shirou, and over there is my sister Judith and my partner Wormmon." "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Are you traveling alone? You can accompany us for a while if you please."
Judith rolls over to greet the man, and Wormmon falls off onto the ground. Judith smiles and waves politely.
"Ahh Judith, you just knocked me on the ground." "Whoops, sorry, little buddy." "Hey, that's my pet name for Wormmon..." "Cry me a river, Dante."
"So what brings you to the spears? We're here on vacation, but I would also like to invest in the area's trade. I'm sure those islands are rich with food and minerals to sell." "Great, so you're going to strip the place clean for a profit." "That's not true. Just you wait, my friend."
The ship starts to pull into the harbor. The gang can see along the shoreline. A large wooden dock harbors the few boats that do make it this far out. Dante sees several huts next to the beach, and unique looking palm trees with plenty of fruit. The group starts getting their things ready. Judith puts on a yellow tank top and white shorts. They get ready to exit the ship and walk onto the dock. A Terriermon wearing flowers around his neck welcomes the travelers.
"Greetings, and welcome to the Spears of Megiddo! Be sure to try some maguh fruit, it's delicious." "Yes, please direct us to the nearest buffet. I'm starvin'!"
The Terriermon seems unfamiliar with what Wormmon is referring to.
"Well, we don't have any "buff-ays", but uh, there's some shacks with plenty of food, if you've got the coin." "Don't worry, I'll be taking care of the expenses. Do you take cards?" "What kind of cards? You mean like clubs and diamonds?" "I mean plastic. Credit cards." "I don't know what you are talking about, mister, but if you want to eat, you better flash the cash. Move along, now."
The group continues walking down the dock. Dante leans over to Shirou. "This place is even more remote than I thought." Judith overhears and butts in. "You're such a tourist, Shirou. "Excuse me, but do you take credit cards?" We're on a freaking island in the Digital World."
Hopefully once the group gets some food in their bellies, they will stop harassing each other and enjoy the trip.

John conversed with the group as they made their way to the island. He explained the reason why he was here in the Binary Archipelago, mentioning Black Spires and how his work involved investigating the dark structures as well as the mysterious corruption that was sprouting all over the Digital World like a disease. The man made a retelling about his mission in the Tyrant's Labyrinth. All the while, John was taking in the beautiful sights of the island.
When Shirou was finished with his little quip about Credit Cards, John saw it as a kind gesture to correct him. "Oh, real money isn't valued here in the Digital World. Here, their currency is Bits. If you'd like, I'd be happy to treat us all to lunch."
It would be then that John's Agumon partner, Casimeir, approached the group from the direction of the beach. Clinging to his scaly form were droplets of salt water. "Hey, John!" he chirped. The Digimon was apparently happy to be reunited with his partner. The greeting was returned with a warm smile from the human.
"Hey, Cas! How was the water?" John paused to gesture to the others. "I met these guys on the ferry. This is Dante, Shirou, Judith, and Wormmon. Everyone, this is Casimeir."
The Agumon offered a cheerful wave. "It's nice to meet you all!"

Apparently, John was a Tamer who traveled the Digital World, looking for black spires to take down. Dante had encountered them before, but it was still a mystery to him who was behind it all.
"You mean those big tower thingies? Ya, I hate those! Knock 'em down!"
After Shirou's card had been declined, John corrected him about the currency in the Digital World. Their new acquaintance even offered to pay for lunch.
"Ya, I know that Digimon use bits, but I've also seen coins and other currency being exchanged." "Thank you for offering to pay for lunch." "Don't worry, we have bits as well." "Dante! Shush, we're talking a free lunch here."
As the group is walking down the boardwalk, they are greeted by an Agumon, John's Digimon partner.
"Pleased to meet ya, Casimeir." "We heard about some of your adventures."
With Casimeir joining them, the group heads over to the nearby huts for a nice meal. An Armadillomon escorts them to a table close to the water, with a large red and white umbrella.
"Welcome to the Spears! What can I get started for you?" "Do you have sushi?" "We have sushi back at home, why don't you try something new?" "Because I want some sushi, and cheeseburgers."
Armadillomon chuckles at the Worm King.
"Well, we do have freshly caught fish. There are many different species in these waters, some that are exclusive to the area." "Fish sounds good. Also, we want to try some maguh fruit." "And don't forget the drinks, Dante. Something that says summer vacation." "I'll do you one better, a round of maguh fruit smoothies. They are on sale." "Oh, sounds delicious."
Armadillomon finishes taking the order and heads over to one of the huts. In addition to fish, there was all kinds of exotic meats and fruits on the menu. Shirou carefully goes over the menu to get an idea of what resources are on the island.
"Looks like most of this food is all grown locally. They must have an abundance of produce." "I'm willing to bet it has something to do with those volcanoes. It must be enriching the soil."
The ship they arrived in on is about to depart. Several other visitors frolic on the beach and get something to eat. The sun was out, and hardly a single cloud in the sky, yet it wasn't too hot sitting in the shade of an umbrella. Armadillomon returns with a tray of fruit smoothies, and lets them know that the food will be out shortly. Judith takes a sip.
"Mmm, it tastes so sweet."
Wormmon starts gulping down his smoothie.
"Oh boy, I'm gonna need some more of these." "It would be rude to ask John to pay for all these smoothies. If he's covering lunch, the least I can do is pay for the drinks." "Then I can drink as many as I want!" "Look what you've done, brother. Wormmon's going to be on a sugar high. Ah, it's so beautiful here. Usually when we come to the Digital World, you go looking for fights with tough Digimon, putting our lives in danger. This is much nicer."
Dante had to admit, this place felt like a nice little slice of island paradise. Still, he couldn't shake this uneasy feeling that he had. Maybe he was getting himself worked up over nothing, having gotten used to trouble coming from out of nowhere when he least expects it.

John wasn't entirely in the mood for fish and smoothies. But he was about to order when his D-Terminal's messager app sounded off like how one would receive an alert from a text message. "One moment, please." He grasped the terminal from his left pocket and opened it. As his eyes scanned the screen, his expression grew more serious.
"Well," he exhumed, closing the D-Terminal. "Looks like my hunch was right. A Black Spire showed up not too far from here. I wish I could stay, but this is kind of urgent." John and Casimeir stood to leave but made sure to leave enough bits to pay for the meal. "It was nice meeting you all. Duty calls." The man nodded to his partner. "Maybe we can meet again some time."
John wasn't wanting to waste any more time with the new threat of the Black Spire looming over them. Along with paying for the meal, the partners offered their contact details for those who wanted them. With their goodbyes made, John and Casimeir left the group to their own devices while the pair made their way to the beach. "They seemed nice," the Agumon thought aloud while their bare feet hit the warm water of the shoreline.
"Yeah," John replied with a gentle smile. "Ready to take on this Black Spire?"
Caismeir offered a confident nod. "You know it."
