Continued from Chaos in the Wasteland"Tch... that the damn Wizardmon would leave me to deal with you, of all people!"
Datamon was not having a good day. At the start, the Wizardmon had made the anomaly sound like just another field trip - what would be another chance to examine the D-Reaper in the real world, he reasoned? As it turned out, there was still a trick or two that this mass induced by corruption could still pull out on them...
... Which is why the TigerVespamon, just minutes ago the leader of their clean-up crew, had now turned on his former employer! The electric blades inched closer, a red snap of electricity threatening to jump right over to the robotic ultimate -
"Chaff Bomb!"
- But he was able to keep his distance! Releasing small robotic viruses from his hand, the blade struck into the mass, a large explosion of smoke filling the area! Thrown back from the explosion, the Datamon's feet and hands dug into the ground, stopping his backward momentum, only to see one of the mechanical bee's crimson blades effortlessly cut through the distraction.
"Tch... Form: Chrome!" The relentless approach of the dominated agent closed the distance again: just as that blade neared once more, the Datamon's metal frame took on the traits of Chrome Digizoid, turning that slashing blow into a blunter one. Still easily blown back by the mega, the mechanical ultimate landed harshly on his side, quickly pulling itself back to its feet.
"Damn..." Seeing cracks glowing in his glass casing, the Datamon grew nervous. He couldn't keep this up for much longer!

This place again...
Viktor found himself dragged into the Dark Area to find a 'cure' for something that Genesis caught in the Luminas Prison, when she opened the cells. Normally, this place was barren and devoid of anything that resembled life. Empty armor and rusted swords littered the landscape, the remains of their owners who met an ill fate in this loathsome area. As they walked, faint whispers could be heard to the duo. Nothing decipherable, but it seemed some data must have lingered within those sets of armor and swords.
What was more is that a thick fog hung over the terrain like the stench of death, no doubt the two had some sort of relation. But of all things to see in this wasteland... Viktor never would have thought to see a battle between two digimon. This was arguably the worst place for it, given the abundance of other digimon that no doubt stalked these lands looking for their next meals. He had no desire to get involved, and as Viktor and Genesis attempted to sneak around, the Datamon getting tossed around would have no doubt seen the pair.
Viktor would respond before it could speak; "Sorry... Your battles are your own."
Genesis nodded, though she'd like to help this Datamon with all his shortcomings, she had other priorities. Lust demanded this artifact so she could return and make Genesis in the image she desired. She couldn't waste time helping those unable to help themselves. The two attempted to continue on their way...
Yet, as Viktor peered at the TigerVespamon, he began thinking maybe this fight would become there's sooner, rather than later. Viktor tapped Genesis on the shoulder, digivice ready to go. There was no mistake; One move in their direction, and the fox would be sent into the fray. Viktor wasn't willing to play power struggle here, here would risk nothing.
That's if he had to risk anything at all.

"Tch... just how long can I hold out like this..."
This was definitely becoming quite the problem! Even though he had managed to pull the TigerVespamon this far away from the D-Reaper's field, well, this was a war of attrition that he couldn't win from the start. Despite his initial bluster, the Ultimate level simply had no moves that he could speak of that could come even close to damaging this bee - and even if he could, he doubted his ability to last in long-term combat.
Blown back by the machine Digimon's blade once more, the Datamon's wiry legs dug straight into the earth, a further crack in his casing earning a displeased spark from the machine. But perhaps this was a blessing: trapped on his back foot, he managed to catch the sight of a tamer and Digimon pair! Before he could even get one word out, however, Viktor already blew him off.
Now. Perhaps it was the stress of the fight, the D-Reaper's field just over the horizon, or Viktor's general attitude, but something snapped in that Datamon's head. With a grin under that glass casing, the Datamon, in desperate need of help, decided to steal the assistance he needed. Just as that tap would happen on the Renamon's shoulder, the Datamon would bound open in their direction, chaff smoke escaping from his fingertips!
"What's mine is yours, friend!" If all went as intended, all three of them would get caught up in that smokescreen - and with its electrical interference, it would be next to impossible for the TigerVespamon to clearly track its target through the smoke! The now-cowardly Datamon simply decided to bolt, as far away from that robotic monstrosity as possible.
Once more, a powerful swipe of the Tigervespamon's blade would clear that smoke away, his eyes scanning for a target. Clearly, whoever was the closest - or the most vulnerable - would likely receive the full attention of the Tigervespamon.

Goddammit
Without even so much as a word, the duo dived in opposite directions, no doubt narrowly dodging some attack from the TigerVespmon. Viktor cursed as he flipped over to his back, then slowly stood up. There he stood abreast to the TigerVespmon who looked as if he was scanning for a target. All he had to do was look down and he'd certainly find one. Viktor widened his stance, ready to roll in whatever direction would leave him unaffected by the much larger Digimon.
"Get ready, Genesis. No chances."
His heart pounded in his hears, sounding as though the beat of marching drums were rapidly approaching. It wasn't fear this human felt, Viktor chose to never be afraid, only cautious. No he recognized a danger when he saw one, and he was preparing to do what needed to be done in the event it decided to attack.
He examined the potential threat. He appeared to be a normal TigerVespmon, but his armor and energy were off on color. Instead of the brilliant blue hue that usually emitted from the blade, it was a fiery red, not unlike his Super Mega's attacks. From his experience, that meant only one thing; Corruption. Though, it could have very well been overcome. Viktor had seen digimon defeat corruption only to appear as such for the rest of their natural lives. He would test his theory as he'd speak;
"I have no quarrel with you, TigerVespmon. I will leave you to your Datamon and whatever reason you are fighting him."
Viktor took a slow step back, ready to move in the event he came under attack. Genesis, who was still a Rookie, was ducking behind one of the many trenches manifested from the years of conflict that scarred this land. Viktor knew she was there, and waited for the right moment to take the form of the Ronin. But perhaps there was some misunderstanding, he wished only find this 'cure' and leave this god forsaken wasteland and never return.
But, something about him shot red flags inside Viktor's mind. There was likely no negotiating with this beast. Likely he was mindless. Lust confirmed this as she spoke to Genesis;
"Take care, Genesis. This is D-Reaper corruption, he's not himself. Likely the only course of action is to kill him."
Genesis sighed, she hoped Viktor knew what he was doing. But then again...
Viktor planned for everything.

Oh, the TigerVespamon would spot its target, alright: it's not as if the machine was lacking in sensors. Soon, its helmet would lock eyes with the tamer standing right before him, the Renamon and Datamon far out of sight. For at least a moment or two, it was unclear how the machine would act: would it bother with such a low priority target, when it already knew at least one other Digimon was in the area?
That thought was soon pushed away from the front of its mind, though. He had a prime opportunity to immobilize this tamer, making whatever Digimon here that was tied to him significantly weaker. But rather than simply swing his blade again - something that could simply be dodged by this older human - the TigerVespamon instead stabbed one of its blades outward, in a forward strike. The red blade would spark, a harsh voice echoing out:
"Static Burst!"
With a single crack, a blast of electrical energy would pulse out from the red blade: all lower-level Digimon inside its radius would likely find their muscles painfully lock up! Should Viktor get caught in the blast, it would only take a moment for the machine to swing that second blade around, aiming to cleave Viktor in two from the side!
As for the Datamon? Well, he easily slipped down into one of those crags, the red armor coating him returning back to its normal, dull gray. Settling at the bottom, the machine gave out a sigh of relief. Well, hopefully, these two could handle it, while he made his own way out of here. Someone had to get out and warn Terminus, after all!
Log:
TigerVespamon uses 'Static Burst'.

Viktor expected some sort of quip... something other than the words of an attack that was sent directly at him. He only leaned his head down and placed his arms up, guarding against any stray pieces of debris that was sent into the air from the attack. The waves pulsed through Viktor's body, causing him to lock his arms in their position and hold his stance. He only grunted as the arc of electricity passed through him as smaller tendrils reached off his body, fruitless looking for something else to connect with. He managed to stay on two feet however, despite the intensity of the shockwave. Genesis, on the other hand, missed the arc by mere millimeters as her cover in the imperfection of the landscape shielded her from the effects. She wasted no time. As soon as she cleared the wave, which harmlessly passed over her, she instantly touched Viktor by his heel and the the pair simultaneously fused into one being. [Digivolution]The form grew, the shapeless white form becoming larger, forming into a broad male with the head of a fox. Suddenly, orange-yellow fur coated his body and several tail shot his lower back, each flowing like a flame behind him. Armor placed itself on his arm and shoulder, piece by piece as his clothing did the same. A black and red sword materialized it's matching sheath on his hip, which he firmly pulled as the digiviolution was fully complete. To the TigerVespmon, despite his secondary attack, he would have seen a quick flash of light and a blade that would promptly stop his electric blade in it's tracks. Further, the Ronin wouldn't bother to say something witty or provide banter. Just as the TigerVespmon did to the human not seconds ago, he'd break the clash the two would undoubtedly find themselves in by pushing outward with the blade and bringing it back around. He'd cry out and attempt to catch the TigerVespmon off guard with a sudden, unnervingly fast strike, saying simply: "Song of Swords!"Should that swipe find it's mark, a second, much faster and more vicious slash would follow. Then another, and another, and several more after that as each slice appeared as a little more than a flash of red-and-black steel. If the TigerVespmon was caught in this torrent of steel and fire, he'd find it near impossible to escape. Even a counter attack would do little to stop the progress of this attack. By the end of the furious storm of blades, Kajunemon would deliver a powerful kick, which would send the corrupted TigerVespmon flying back several meters. He'd then bring the sword up and around, stopping it suddenly to clean the blade of any 'blood' that might stained the ordained weapon. He would then bring the sword over, standing ready to respond to any attack his enemy could possibly throw at him. That's assuming, of course, the TigerVespmon even took the first hit to begin with.

Well, well - before TigerVespamon could get that second swing in to rend this human in half, his partner Digimon managed to crawl out of the woodwork - and even manage to grip onto his ankle! Subconsciously figuring that the fox might be trying to pull him out of the way, the machine extended his reach slightly and aimed to cut through a lower ground...
... But what he clearly didn't expect was a Super Mega to appear before him! Right in that instant, his red blade was met with a draw, Kajunemon's own powerful, cursed-looking sword halting the machine's progress. The surprising shift in strength made the TigerVespamon's one-handed blade easy to parry. Past that, the fox didn't waste time, immediately moving to pick up the pace! That first slash would catch the machine's shoulder with a small nick, giving Kajunemon all the fuel he needed to start with Song of Swords!
Then again, the TigerVespamon wasn't defenseless in his own right: "Protocol: Overcharge!" At once, both of TigerVespamon's blades sparked heavily with energy, red electricity dancing from his blades. Like electricity drawn to the edges of a plasma globe, this electricity would coarse from the edges of the sword, continuously flowing to both Kajunemon's sword and the metal pieces of his armor. TigerVespamon's defense wasn't perfect, the machine taking care only to parry the more animated attacks with both of his swords (like those similar to his second blow), but every time his blades would clash with Kajunemon's, electricity would both surge through the blade, as well as 'dance' off it and flow into the fox, proper!
Provided that Kajunemon kept with the whole ordeal, that kick would cleanly find the machine's chest, the TigerVespamon left skidding backwards. The machine would already look battle-worn, its left arm even battered in the exchange, but he still looked quite able to fight, taking a defensive stance from a distance.
Speaking of a distance, that Datamon peered over from one of those crags: Tch... guess I shouldn't be surprised, from our Captain...
Log:
TigerVespamon uses 'Protocol: Overcharge', increasing the electrical current to his blades. All organic or metallic targets that are close to the blades, within three feet, will have electricity 'jump' from the sword out towards them in a continuous flow. This effect is amplified when the blades strike or are struck.

Well, this was unexpected. The TigerVespmon took the first strike and allowed Kajunemon to land a flurry of follow up blows, but not unchallenged; He parried a few softer swings that was surprising to the fox at first, but as he continued it became clear that it seemed more like a desperate block, rather than a skilled parry. That wasn't the issue, however, as Kajunemon sword met the TigerVespmon, he would discharge electricity out of his body and into the blade. While the currents that entered the blade would halt their progress inside the weapon, the arcs jumping out would jolt into the fox and coursing through. It didn't do much to stop the progress of the attack, however, as Kajunemon finished with a powerful kick that sent the TigerVespmon flying back several feet.
The fox only panted as he shook off the arc waves, his fur puffing out slightly from the static as he sheathed his sword and raised his fists. Clearly, this move might have confused TigerVespmon, but Kajunemon had a little more planned than a simple fist fight;
Each one of his tails began forming a complete circle around him as a dark red flame ignited at the end of each appendage. He held right arm out and widened his stance, the fire forming around him as he 'locked' onto the TigerVespmon in a manner not unlike his foe. His fist began burning with that same intensity as his tails and with a sudden, violent move, the Ronin rushed forward at blinding speeds. So much so that the ground behind him exploded as he rushed forward. Jump left, dive right, fly into the air. It didn't matter which direction he went, the fox was closed the gap before either could blink.
Should the flaming fist meet TigerVespmon, he would initially feel a powerful force that drove him opposite of the punch that seemed to ignore his armor and go 'through' him. What's more is that the force would be accompanied by intense heat and fire. So much so that anything flammable within Kajunemon's immediate area would ignite. Metal would quickly Super heat and flesh would sear.
Even if he somehow dodged the attack, his armor would prove his biggest advisory against Kajunemon as the heat alone would be near inescapable, and the force behind the punch would travel, even if it met no impact.

His adversary sheathed his sword?
Suspicious. The TigerVespamon wasn't an amateur, and he wasn't the team's aforementioned captain without a reason. It was clear from the start that the Kajunemon was preparing something extensive: opponents didn't buy distance, sheathe their weapons, and start charging up some mysterious fire for no reason. Still, the mechanical warrior didn't move from his position, either.
In fact, afforded this time, the TigerVespamon prepared its own technique: holding both of its blades forwards, an electrical current surged, reaching a limit as both of the swords crackled with built-up energy. With this, the mechanical bee would be ready for both a close-range assault, as well as any sort of long-range projectile. And as it turned out, it was the former, the Kajunemon seemingly vanishing before the Datamon's eyes!
But for the machine's advanced sensors, the mega would be able to not only see, but act in time to counteract: just as that foot would press off, Viktor cutting the distance towards the leader, the energy in both blades would release:
Static Burst!
Not announced like before, both blades released their excess energy - like with Viktor before, this would likely be enough to temporarily lock up muscle! Should it work as intended, with the machine's accompanied shuffle of its feet, that fist would likely careen by his hip, while the rest of the Ronin's body slammed against the beast's chest. And should that happen?
It would be little effort for the TigerVespamon to wrap one arm around the biomerge's back, and stab the other blade at Viktor's side, into that exposed hip. Even if its armor started to heat up, there would be no flesh to sear underneath that hull - the damage wouldn't be immediate!

Yet another counter attack. While the Captain was certainly impressive in his own right, holding his own against a Super Mega, with no help, he also managed to make him reel in some cases. This was such a case. While the Ronin clashed blades previously and gauged his his advisory's power, it had occurred to him that he was more than a simple mega. No, Captain or not, this fight would have been long over if that was the case. Instead, he sensed something more... something, dark.
As Kajunemon rushed forward at his blinding speeds, he felt those familiar waves of electricity course through him, each passing stroke becoming easier to bare as time went on. But it was enough to force him to call off his punch, despite the momentum and the weight carried. He had thought ahead; While his punch was an attack in it's own right, it borrowed it's power from another move. Kajunemon eerily stopped dead in his tracks and, despite being a conductor for several thousands volts of electricity, managed to bring his arms around and inward, then throw them outward with an Earth shattering roar that sent a powerful expulsion of fire and heat. His tails formed that same complete circle as the TigerVespmon would no doubt feel the full effects this close. The repayment of arc waves in the form of licking flames that enviously hungered for the flesh under the armor of the fox's foe. The seizing of muscles returned in the form of intense heat that would only add to the superheating metal.
Regardless of how the TigerVespmon responded with the attack, Kajunemon would finally speak, drawing his sword and pointing it him;
"What are you? I sense... corruption. You can speak, that much is clear."
Despite his questioning, the Ronin was still very much on guard. Ready to respond with either more clashing of the sword or a lock. While the TigerVespmon might find that ideal for his own shock therapy. He'd find the heat a little too much to bare should he decide to clash blades. The Ronin proved he could stand his attacks, but the question remained;
How long could the TigerVespmon?

Oh? Even like that, the fox could still halt his momentum?
At the Ronin's speed, the TigerVespamon's physical attack was purely reactionary, meaning he would only attempt the stab if the Kajunemon had pressed against him at point-blank. With this pause, though, the machine was once more given a moment to observe, that fiery energy drawn right into the super mega's arms. Right - unable to conjure another static blast to dispel the fire so quickly, the captain gave the second most logical answer:
Put as much distance between himself and this ruthless attacker as he could. As the fire struck forth, the TigerVespamon swung forth with both of its blades into the open air, trying to reduce the force of the blast as much as it could. Ultimately, the fire would wash right over the machine's frame for several seconds...
... Before the shape would break through the top of the fiery plume! Armor heated red from the intense heat, the captain stretched out its wings, using the very convection given by the heat to propel himself quickly into the air! Roughly a hundred yards up, needing several moments for its systems to cool off, the machine's face snapped towards Kajunemon as he asked the question.
What was he? "TigerVespamon, Model 8,927. Prior leader to the D-Reaper Eradication Unit." The response was rather automated, vents opening at the sides of his legs to let out excess heat.
"Primary directive. Elimination of those threatening the core. Sufficient threat detected - Kajunemon. Cleared to incapacitate."
Well away from the flames, above and to the left, the TigerVespamon took the time to cool off as best it could. If Kajunemon had any other inquiries, well, the machine seemed oddly agreeable!

The very fur of Kajunemon burned on the surface, the Ronin as more a host for the flames, rather than it's meal. His ears twitched at the comment, 'cleared to incapacitate'. He only brought his sword up;
"I shall see you try."
There was a slight problem, however. While Kajunemon mastered and harnessed the power of fire and cleansing heat, electricity was arguably more superior, simply because it could act how it wanted, and the fire would not cancel it out. But, on the other hand, Kajunemon's fire would be much too intense to be stopped by the arcs of energy sent by the TigerVespmon.
The Ronin brought his sword back around, querying the corrupted TigerVespmon yet again; "D-Reaper? To my knowledge it was locked away. Are you a sign of it's return, Corrupt?"
Though Kajunemon was controlled by Viktor, there were... things that compelled him. A purpose of sorts. One of them was the the eradication of Corruption marred by the D-Reaper. He couldn't explain why, but something drove him to end this TigerVespmon. Maybe it was the original host, begging for release from his corruption. Maybe the corruption offended the Fox. Either way, this Mega was not walking away from this ordeal alive.
"You cannot hold this fight. Your electricity wanes with each passing usage. Surrender or not, you will not live to see the sunset, Corrupt."
Kajunemon suddenly leapt into the air with the same blinding speeds, his frightening aggression returning as he began yet another assault on the TigerVespmon, no doubt to meet him in the air with clashing swords and singing blades. Despite the TigerVespmon having to blades and the electric properties, the Ronin would be meet every blow, every clash, every parry. It was a dance, of sorts the two might find themselves in. But despite the time the fight carried, the fox did not wane. He did not falter. His blows continuing with the same strength they did at the inception of the fight. If this TigerVespmon was smart, he'd realize what the fox was really doing. The Corrupt Captain might be able to avoid this fight, but he'd waste more energy trying to outrun the fox, rather than clash with him.
Despite his choice, at the end of the escapade, Kajunemon would bring his sword back, his own cursed blade as it became a bright red. He flipped several times in the air as he aimed dead center of the TigerVespmon, so much so that clashing seemed more logical that dodging, due the to the simple nature of flying. Should the TigerVespmon clash, however, he'd find yet another intense explosion that escaped from the blade. His sword might be enough to protect him. But, this was a Super Mega explosion. It might rend his armor as a whole. Even dodging the move would prove a tiring feet, as the explosion would still be sent outward, creating a wall of fire that looked to consume any who were unfortunate enough to be caught by the move, Flying Fox.

Interestingly enough, the TigerVespamon seemed quite receptive to the queries. The machine's voice kept a robotic monotone to it, but every question was answered with a prompt, confident response. To the query about the D-Reaper, the bee's answer followed: "The D-Reaper has never been sealed. Fallacy. The D-Reaper is meant as the corruption's end."
To that note, the TigerVespamon gave one powerful flick of its blade, a gust below cutting through the heavy fire. At the bottom, where the fuel burnt the brightest, Kajunemon would already be able to see the effects of his forceful blows: the very data of the earth was singed away, leaving everything in constant phase. Without the TigerVespamon doing anything, a red lichen already started to form at the ground, drawn to the disturbance itself. And with the ground in a thick, red paste, the very area that Kajunemon 'corrupted' would settle back into logical form.
"That. Corrupt. And corrupt no more." The machine returned his attention forward, just as the Super Mega gave its threat. And once more, their blades would clash... but to what end? "Protocol: Overcharge!" They had already been at this point before, except this time, the Kajunemon lacked the speed of their first exchange! With each parry, the arcing electricity would once more bounce onto the attacking fox - except this time, every surge of electricity would move to sear his fur and skin! Off the ground, Kajunemon had no way to ground the incoming electricity, meaning the full force of the current would burn at the point of entry!
Once more, it seemed that the two would trade techniques: left tic-for-tac in the sword-fight itself, Kajunemon built distance, and attempted to slam the sword directly above the TigerVespamon! Raising both blades to block, the explosive force easily propelled the machine Digimon downwards, briefly skidding on his feet before tumbling twice on his back. That left a mark, the TigerVespamon just a touch slower to get up, clearly favoring his right side over his left!

There it was
Their clashing had done more to the pair than Kajunemon anticipated. While it was true he was growing used to the shock that the TigerVespmon discharged, it did not occur to him that being in the air would amplfy it's affect. Though the energy did burn him, it didn't sear him. His flesh left untouched, but his coat didn't fair as well. The smell of burnt fur definitely filled the air. As he slammed the sword into the TigerVespmon with his powerful blow, he watched as he landed and skidded backwards. Leaning to his right side as though injured. A pleasant sight, but it could easily be a feint. If anything, it was time to continue.
Kajunemon landed, sword into ground as he brought it around, sighing as he watched again. With another raise of his sword;
"You say I am corrupt. Yet I am of free will, you're nothing more than a Drone, Corrupt. Do you intend to add me to the service of your D-Reaper?"
Kajunemon didn't ask for a simple usage of fear or anger. The more he understood this enemy, the more he could prevent this from happening. Corruption was at it's core, and that was enough for him to end this one's life. But, if he intended to corrupt others, then it was no more a pleasure than it would be a duty to slay him. The fox waited, sword in hand as he narrowed his vision, watching the Fallen Captain with great scrutiny. There was a lot of risk in this fight already... his answer would verify how much risk was truly at stake.

Once more, the TigerVespamon was afforded ample time to recover. Left standing on his feet, as the Kajunemon watched from above, the machine clicked slightly in response to his words.
Did the D-Reaper intent to add Kajunemon as a servant?
"Negative." The response, once more, came swiftly and with a robotic monotone. "Those who are able to corrupt the land with such ease are of no use. You have grown beyond your bounds, Kajunemon." A red glow filled the TigerVespamon's gaze, glowing from the helmet, as he extended his sword into the air. A single, azure line of electricity soared up from the tip of the blade, sinking into the clouds above.
Kajunemon might have already caught onto it, but the TigerVespamon carried on, pointing his blade right for the enemy swordsman. "Therefore. Your existence is forfeit. Mjolnir."
With that command, the skies above would give a threatening crack, TigerVespamon's strongest move on display: in one fell swoop, a single, terrible crack of lightning would descend from the sky, threatening to blast away the Kajunemon in one fell swoop! Even if it missed its metallic target, the impact it left on the ground would leave quite a sizeable explosion...
