Continued from Chaos in the Wasteland "To think it would ever manifest in this world... and to this effect..."
For once, the Wizardmon's voice was faint. With Datamon warding off the captain, along with his own tricks of the trade, the sorcerer managed to stand before the field, in awe of the sight that was before him. A mere half-kilometer away, that familiar core (X), seen so many times in those trips to ancient dreams, hung high above the uneven, bog-like field of the D-Reaper. And right before it floated one of its strongest agents, the Optimizer (X), waiting like a sentinel. Even then, it wasn't the only creature around - and even more might materialize from the field.
But from his current position, the Wizardmon could only stand, stunned. All of his work, his care in preparing this team, in following that dumb Mikemon's advice... all of it, had fallen away at the end. Here he was, his proudest accomplishments running rampant, his own failure evident on the very landscape before him.
It was enough for the scientist to drop to his knees, the staff clattering to the side, as he stared at the ground. Even in this incredible sight, danger surrounding him at all ends, he couldn't move:
"E... everything... everything's..."
His gloved hands clenched into fists, before his frustrated cry broke through the vast horizon of the wasteland.
Minimum Requirement: Ultimate or higher. At least one participant should be Mega or higher.

Isaac figured he'd enjoy this way more than he actually did. No buts about it, he could certainly be a petty person when wronged. If a time traveler had told him that he'd see Wizardmon groveling in despair, after all of his irresponsibility and literally getting Isaac cursed, Isaac would've probably grabbed some popcorn and demanded a front seat view. This wasn't gratifying at all, though. This wasn't a pompous prick getting his just desserts. This was a broken man staring into the face of the apocalypse, bolstered by both his own wrongdoings and factors far out of his control. Where Isaac expected the last laugh, he instead felt pity.
Maybe that was why, instead of brashly interrupting the Wizardmon to charge into battle, Isaac instead approached gently. His footsteps were almost masked by the loud cry of despair that rang out across the battlefield, until soon he had reached the Wizardmon's side. He looked up at Wizardmon, coughing a little to get his attention. "Hey," he warned, his voice containing the stoic quality of someone who had been burned several times before. "This isn't over yet. This might look bad. Really, really bad. But if we break down before things even get started, what are we doing to help? I dunno about you, but I'm sick and tired of running from this thing.
Besides," Isaac added, trailing off a little. "I already promised I'd never let this happen to anyone else. Now's no time to be going back on that promise."
He sighed, turning from Wizardmon to the battlefield stretching before them. The core was still a ways away, but far closer than it was at the Sea of Blood. In addition, the Optimizer hung right by its side. The Reaper was done sending out feelers and playing the long game. It was already time to get serious, and Isaac wasn't about to give it anything less than his 110%.
He clenched his last Demon Pill in his glove. Even if he hurled his soul out from the backlash, he knew he'd need it now more than ever.

Holy crap. That was to put simply on what was going on. Timothy decided to go on his first hardcore trip into the Dark Area. What did he expect? Definitely not this. He was expecting a rather dangerous, but boring trip. This was anything but so. That was a weird and unusual thing. Something that made both Bibi and Faluo shiver.
Speaking of the twins, they were to his side, overlooking the area. Eventually, Faluo spotted a Wizardmon on the ground and a teen helping him. "I see someone. Should we try and help?"
"Faluo, look at the everything. Let's go help before this gets worse."
Faluo nodded and started towards the two figures. With Bibi and Timothy following. Bibi was in a state of awe at everything around her, as much as this wasn't the time to be staring off like that... She was.
Once the trio made it to the Wizardmon and the teen, Timothy walked up next to him, "Yo. Any idea on what's going on!? This seems rather hectic! Like, a lot more hectic that usual Digital World standards!" He was obviously referring to the D-Reaper off in the distance.

In the Wizardmon's remorseful state, he figured that he'd be left off alone. Alone, to wallow in his guilt and failure until the D-Reaper thought it better that such a Digimon didn't stay so close to its field... but what did it matter? At this rate, this entire section of the Dark Area was doomed as it was - and who knew just how wide-reaching the effects of this nest could be?
Wizardmon expected that some others might come to try and help, of course...
What he didn't expect, however, was Isaac trying to console him. Hearing those words, the sorcerer turned his head, seeing that familiar Impmon look over at him. By his words, he hadn't given up. The spirit wielder intended to... to...
"... Damn it, no!" The Wizardmon protested, grasping his staff as he called to the Impmon. "This core has already stolen my best men! Digimon who had fought cores like the one you saw, multiple times, with increasing ease. Don't you get it - anyone who has even a scrap of that data in them will just be turned into one of this thing's servants!"
His words carried over the horizon, just as Timothy and Faluo would fall into earshot. His vigor returned to him, and with a deep breath, he gave a clear answer. "I don't have time to explain it clearly. See that white bubble in the distance?" His staff pointed out, far over that field of goop, leveling out to point at that barrier surrounded by an emerald-colored ring. "That's this field's core. Everything that makes this place up - all of its agents, its monsters, is coded into that. Destroy it, and this entire blight will vanish."
It sounded simple, but it hardly would seem that way. After all, the D-Reaper was hardly passive, and the roar of an approaching creature would soon take hold!
Horn Striker. Without hesitation, once this beast sighted the five of them, it gave its approach: kicking up the earth as it made its charge forward, its right arm gave a fierce glow, charging right for the tamer and the pair of birds! Should it get close, it would strike that arm out, and attempt to scoop Timothy right up in its fierce grip! Those around in its path would instead heave to deal with its immense frame, trying to run them through like a truck!
Horn Striker used Reckless Charge! Horn Striker used ? ? ?, attempting to grab Timothy!

Isaac laughed bitterly as he looked towards the incoming tide, not even focusing on Wizardmon right now. "And if it keeps rampaging through the Digital World, it'll steal me away sooner or later," Isaac said. "So what can I do? Cower, when I know people are in danger? Or use everything in my power to put a stop to it before it gets to that point? I'm not just heading into this unprepared, you know." Granted, having a Demon Pill to stabilize his data and ward off corruption was more happenstance than anything, but Isaac knew that he would be relying on these tools greatly when it came time to face against his maker.
Besides, it wasn't like he hadn't already been troubled by the Reaper's whims, even before reaching this proximity. He laughed bitterly as he stared off into the distance, clenching a gloved fist. This one was for Mitsuko. For Alicia. "Not like this thing can get in my head any more than it already has, anyway," he added.
The first agent was making its way, after a mission briefing that Isaac had already heard once before. Already a large green Horn Striker was coming over the horizon. The Reaper didn't wait, and frankly Isaac didn't plan on waiting either. He remembered the advice that Iko had given him when he was describing the Demon Pills beforehand. They were only to be used if the user planned on going all out, thanks to their unforgiving duration and heavy side effects. Would this be the right time to use one? He wasn't sure if 30 minutes would be nearly enough time to bring this mission to completion.
Maybe for now, it'd be best to take a bit less of a stand. Spirit Fractions, much like Armor Digimentals, were notoriously stable compared to their counterparts. It still wouldn't be the most pleasant experience, but at least Isaac could count being able to call out Orochimon. In addition, it seemed like the Horn Striker was solely focused on Timothy and his birds, not Isaac or Wizardmon. It looked down at them menacingly as it charged forward, Isaac taking this time to slide out of the way. He waited until he had scampered off to the side of the Horn Striker, hoping that he would be able to strike quickly before his presence was noticed.
He clenched his fist, body wreathing itself in dark flame and stretching out into a long, serpentine shape. The Digivolution hadn't even settled for a second before Orochimon leaped from the inferno. He rushed the Horn Striker's red attachment cable from the side, trying to tangle it up in his tail to the best of his ability. Whether able to grab a segment and pull it taut, or instead forced to grope for a moving target, he then lunged two of his puppet heads down towards the cable. With any luck, he'd be able to either cleanly snip through it or pull it in opposite directions until it started to strain. Whatever the situation, it was clear Isaac was using his past experience to close in for the kill early.
A shame things were never so simple.

Within seconds of the monster forming and springing into action, the birds did as well. They both got right in front of Timothy and got in a defensive position as Timothy's Digivice let them Digivolve up a form.
"Biyomon warp digivolve to Garudamon!"
"Falcomon warp digivolve to Crowmon!"
The two Ultimate level Digimon both got in a defensive stance to take the hit for Timothy. If it even got to them that was. The two birds had one thing they could always agree on. Protect Timothy. They knew they could probably take the hit, they also knew that Timothy probably wouldn't be able to last long in the grip of that thing, him being all squishy and human.
As soon as they were done playing Digishield, they would go into attack the same area as Isaac. The twins were relentless in their attacks, going for as big of hits as possible.
"Wing Blade!"
"Fire Jewel!"
From the Dokkoshos on Faluo's wings, came forth two fire balls, from Bibi, a large vacuum blade comes flying with the fireballs. All of these shots were aimed directly at the same point Isaac went to slash, hoping to break it completely and certainly.
Timothy was glad to have his twin birds. Especially when something makes them agree right off the bat. It makes life so much easier for him. It is also nice that they're so willing to protect him. Once they went off to battle, he ran over to Wizardmon and went to help the Digimon, "You okay? Anything I can do to help you?"
Bibi and Faluo shield Timothy from the grab, taking whatever damage they take happily.
Bibi and Faluo respond with a Wing Blade and Fire Jewel at the same spot Isaac struck in hopes of making sure it gets torn.

At the very least, Timothy would be safe - the appearance of the Crowmon, and especially the Garudamon, would make it quite impossible for the Horn Striker to simply barrel past. Still, the blow wouldn't be light from the mega-level construct: even with the force divided between two Digimon, its separate shoulders would strike at the chest of both birds, the force feeling like a comparative wrecking ball, threatening to snap the ribs underneath! Still, it was enough to have the Horn Striker stagger backwards.
After all, a much more pressing issue arose, with the sudden appearance of Orochimon! As its tail wrapped around the cable, and the heads moved down to try and grip around it, the green monstrosity was not about to let itself be destroyed! Rather, as those heads approached, the Horn Striker reached its arms out, trying to trap each of those puppet snake heads under each of its arms. Should it manage the grip, it would try and close its arms like a vice, intent on crushing the necks underneath!
Though, a few precious moments later, Bibi and Faluo's attack would strike right at the cable - not enough to sever it through, but enough to damage it, and weaken the melee warrior's grip! If it hadn't already cleaved the necks in two, Isaac would have a chance to slip by...
... But not before three of Isaac's 'familiar friends' (X) appeared on the scene, floating out from over that field. Each of these three Pendulum Feet immediately slashed open their cloaks, an array of blades and wires visible from the forefront, as they moved to check each fighter, approaching at the Crowmon's chest, the Garudamon's head, and the Orochimon's central, black head! Each were relentless, and would try and latch on with their wires, digging deep into their bodies with those sharp hooks!
As for Wizardmon? Seeing Timothy, the sorcerer shook his head. "Without a way to fly, I have no way to accompany you all to the core. Don't worry about me, just continue to provide your partners power!"
Log:
Horn Striker's headlong charge strikes both Garudamon and Crowmon, hitting them with a heavy, damaging blow. Horn Striker attempts to grapple at the two Orochimon puppet heads that approached it, aiming to simply snap them by the neck! Horn Striker's cable is damaged!
Three Pendulum Feet appeared! Each is attempting to grapple its target with its hooked cables!

The puppet heads did their job. Horn Striker's hands were now quite literally full with auxiliary body parts. Isaac made sure to shrink back slightly as the Horn Striker made his grab, ensuring its corrupting grip would be focused on wood and ceramic rather than his actual body. It still hurt, but much less than an actual stranglehold would have. Nevertheless, the heads were rapidly starting to crack under the pressure. Isaac knew he'd have to capitalize on this advantage fast.
Fortunately, the cable was already starting to fray from Bibi and Faluo's attacks. Not willing to let their efforts go to waste, Isaac let another three heads lunge forward. At this point, his single-minded goal was to just tear the Mega-equivalent's life support to bits so that it couldn't further threaten the group. If this became a real fight, it could get ugly. The heads that had already been cracked down on, rather than slip away, instead doubled down. Isaac had them bite down at the Horn Striker's hands to keep them occupied, ideally just long enough for him to finish the job.
Of course, only having a few unoccupied heads meant that Orochimon was left a lot more exposed than usual. A divebomb from a Pendulum Feet quickly caught his attention, snapping Isaac's single minded focus and forcing him to lunge out of the way in a panic. He was just barely too slow; a deep gash spread down Orochimon's central head where the Pendulum Feet passed, the deep red ooze associated with D-Reaper attacks leaking down from the side. Having corrupted data that close to his head could not be good, even from a glancing blow.
Isaac was a little too busy wrangling the Horn Striker to focus on these interlopers, but he knew he could at least keep them busy. He turned to aim at all three of the Pendulum Feet, a sweet smelling brown haze spilling from his mouths and wafting towards them. If they lingered in Isaac's way, and if D-Reaper Agents could even get drunk, they would find their reflexes getting ever so slightly sloppier.
Combat Log: Orochimon Head Far Left and Orochimon Head Far Right have been snagged without resistance. Isaac dives in for the kill on Horn Striker to capitalize on their sacrifice. Sci can determine how much punishment the heads take as a result. Pendulum Foot's dive bomb scores a glancing yet painful blow, leaving a nasty gash down the side of Orochimon's face. Orochimon tries to throw the three Pendulum Feet off of their game with Vile Breath. Vile Breath: Orochimon blasts the foe with sake-laden breath, getting them drunk by exposure. The more the attack is used in battle, the worse the drunkenness gets. Magnitude: 15% reduction to reflexes and awareness. Increases by another 15% each use on the same target, capping at a 75% reduction to each after 5. Duration: Two Posts. Cooldown: One Post.

Bibi and Faluo were both shaken by the power of that strike. They needed to pump out more power. With that conclusion, it was time to do a more intense battle. They needed to withstand the hooks first though. Well, Bibi had a pretty deadly idea. "Fire Hurricane!" As she finished speaking, a tornado of fire erupted from where she was. This tornado went straight for the pendulum feet coming for she and Faluo.
Faluo would hold back and wait to see how they lasted. If they withstood the attacks, which seemed likely, he would be ready to respond. "Metal Star!" He would fire some Ninja stars at the most heavily hit spots of all three pendulum feet. If he could cut them, then they would be making progress.
Timothy nodded to Wizardmon and followed Bibi and Faluo for now on foot. He needed to see how he could help them. They weren't as strong as they could be, but sacrificing two ultimates for one mega didn't seem like a good enough trade this time... The numbers would help a lot, especially with how weak all these things seemed defensively so far.
Bibi unleashed a Fire Hurricane, sending a tornado of fire to the pendulum feet. Lasts one more turn.
Faluo fired off a metal star. Sending ninja stars to the most heavily hit spots of the pendulum feet's cords.
Timothy is effectively moral support for now.

Isaac may have gotten an opening in on the Horn Striker's cord, but it didn't come without a cost. Puppets or not, Orochimon's extra set of heads provided quite the utility, and as soon as the agent managed to get them held under his arms like one would hold a beach chair, the monster would press his elbows down and snap the ceramic structures outright, making two of his six auxiliary heads useless!
That said, the other three were quite able to make their way to the main cable. Already weakened from Bibi and Faluo's efforts, the cable was rend in two quite easily: falling to its knees, the Horn Striker lumbered forth, pitifully reaching out in Isaac's direction as if to grapple him, before uselessly falling into the ground as a pile of red mass.
As for the vile breath? Well, whatever effect it would have had would have worked better on a system that held a proper respiratory system, but as half of these constructs - including the Pendulum Feet - didn't have a nose or mouth to begin with, it was nigh impossible for the vapor to enter their systems! Cutting right through the fog, the Pendulum Feet closest Isaac would move to grasp towards that last unoccupied puppet head - should it manage to get its hooks around, that third head would be crushed in the D-Reaper's grip as well!
Bibi's efforts would fair far better than Isaac's, in regards to the Pendulum Feet. As it turned out, fire was a great way to cut through their regenerative capabilities, and a sudden whirlwind of pure flame would be enough to swallow up the Pendulum Feet headed in her direction, leaving its burnt, charred remains to stain the ground.
Faluo, however, would find the more solid attack of 'Metal Star' to be ineffective to the Pendulum Feet in front of himself. Opening its coat, the projectiles flung in its direction would clash against the agent's own metal, leaving a useless heap of shrapnel on the ground. Finding it unwise to grapple, the agent instead moved to strike across with one hook, aiming to strike over Faluo's chest! The Pendulum Feet closer to Isaac, caught unaware, would feel its cable nicked, looking over its shoulder to assess the damage!
"Overall, though, this pace isn't going to suit us. We really can't afford to sit and take the small-fry like this," the Wizardmon sighed, adjusting his hat. "What we really need is to is make our way across the field. Don't mind its appearance: the entire 'bubble' is solid underfoot, though that doesn't mean we should try and just run across!"
That warning aside, yet another new agent awaited them over the horizon. The sound of a wolf-like cry roared over the edges of the field, originating from somewhere between the Pendulum Feet and the Optimizer off in the distance. It seemed it wouldn't be a simple run through!
Log: Horn Striker has fallen, after crushing two of Isaac's heads! Pendulum Feet are immune to Vile Breath! The one closest to Isaac aims to take out a Puppet Head! Pendulum Feet No. 1 is injured by Metal Star! Pendulum Feet No. 2 has been annihilated by flames! Pendulum Feet No. 3 deflects Metal Star, and aims to slash across Faluo's chest! No new agents appear outside the field. The Optimizer and Core remain in the distance. Something appears to be in waiting...

Two auxiliary heads were down, but so was one of the D-Reaper's stronger vanguards. Horn Strikers were second only to Optimizers on the pecking order, and Orochimon would gladly trade two of his seven panic buttons for taking one out right here, right now. It is also just occuring to me that while Orochimon's first art has only seven heads total (one real, six puppets), later depictions have fixed that. Interesting! Needless to say, the heads both real and fake looked down at the stumbling Horn Striker, not a shred of sympathy in any of their beady eyes. Isaac knew if push came to shove, the Horn Striker would've done the exact same thing to him.
Case in point, the Pendulum Feet. The Vile Breath had no effect on the trio of agents, and one of them immediately swiped through the fog to try and attack Isaac. Fortunately, Isaac was very well-acquainted with their primary method of attack. It was a Pendulum Feet that kidnapped him in the first place, and he got a firsthand look as to their high-intensity aerial fighting style in the process. They would fly in, grapple, and tear anything they got their cloaks around to shreds. Fortunately, Isaac had an idea. As soon as the Pendulum Feet came he flicked the targeted neck up, sending his puppet head flying high into the air. It flipped over the Pendulum Feet gracefully, seamlessly dodging the Pendulum Feet's swipe.
Then the Metal Star caught his foe's attention. The Pendulum Feet's distraction was Isaac's opportunity, and while it looked over its shoulder Isaac tried to strike from its blind spot. He lunged for the frayed portion of the cable, trying to push through it with overwhelming force before the Pendulum Feet was able to counterattack. With its cable less thick than that of the Horn Striker, ideally it wouldn't take nearly as much effort to rip to shreds.
He could only hope that the Pendulum Feet would be dispatched of quickly. Wizardmon was right: they couldn't keep lingering here. Even now Isaac tried to keep the engagement moving forward, almost seeking to drag the Pendulum Feet behind him as he tried to advance.
Combat Log: Isaac uses Serpent Strike to help get his head out of harm's way, sending it flipping over the Pendulum Feet in a rather unorthodox dodge. Serpent Strike: One of Orochimon’s puppet heads detaches from its body, lunging out to try and bite the enemy on its own right. It is vulnerable to being crushed before it can return. When the Pendulum Feet is distracted, Orochimon lunges to try and tear its cord to shreds. Recompile: 1/2 posts have passed since head destruction. Vile Breath is back off cooldown. Not that it matters.

Faluo was, to say the least, in a bit of a rough spot. Getting struck quite hard by the Pendulum Feet attacking him. However, he was rather lucky that his twin's tornado was quite proficient at staying around for a short while. Bibi was already sent the tornado towards his Pendulum foot before it dissipates in a few seconds after hopefully passing through it.
Bibi was also proficient at other things. One of which being her love of fire in this form. "Crimson Claw!" Her claws ignited into flames as she went over to Isaac and tried to help him destroy the last Pendulum foot with her flaming claws.
Faluo, now recognizing the clear weakness that Bibi is exploiting. He started to move in closer to the core, being cautious of the general environment while doing so, especially after those first attackers being quite powerful as is.
Timothy looked to the Wizardmon once again. "What do you suggest? We can get ride Bibi or Faluo there if it'll be safer, but they're amidst a battle, so safer isn't exactly the right words for it." Maybe the Wizardmon had an idea, if so, great! If not, then well... He'll think of something, or the Wizardmon will later, whoever does it first didn't matter too much.
Bibi's fire tornado goes in to take out the Pendulum foot attacking Faluo (1 post cooldown begins).
Bibi used her Crimson Claw to assist Isaac in the destruction of a Pendulum Foot.
Faluo began to move ahead, looking around for any possible attack.

With the Pendulum Feets' numbers already dwindled down to two, the agents were already on a back foot when trying to deal with their attackers. The one nearest Isaac, already caught off guard by the Metal Star, quickly turned its attention to the front as that ceramic mask vanished from sight! Caught off alone and confused, the Pendulum Feet 'clicked', locking its gaze with another one of Isaac's heads as its new target - only to feel the jaws of that 'vanished' head slice right through its cable. Right on the spot, the monster vanished, its red veil vanishing seamlessly in midair.
This left the agent attacking Faluo. The powerful cut across the Crowmon's chest would leave a gleaming red line straight across his body - one that burned to the touch, beginning to eat away at the feathers underneath. However, it soon became clear that these 'Pendulum Feet' were much better suited to be one-on-one fighters - by the time that Bibi's tornado had been redirected towards it, the creature was much too late to realize, feeling its cable singe and snap at the heat! It, too, fell away in a red mist - and to that, the Wizardmon gave a nod to Timothy.
"Its far from the point that I can simply stand back and watch. Here, hold on." Holding out his hand, assuming Timothy would take it, the Wizardmon would open his spellbook, flipping over to a particular page:
"Renamon's Spell - Kohenkyo!" With that one declaration, both Timothy and Wizardmon would 'blink', vanishing on the spot before reappearing on Bibi's shoulder. "Be careful from here," the sorcerer warned, "Because its very easy for new agents to come up from the field itself."
Oh, wasn't that the case. Even the Optimizer alone would have been quite the trouble, but as Faluo (and whoever else made their way to the field) made their approach, four 'bubbling' protrusions would make themselves evident on the field. From three of them came the same style of agent: 'Bubbles'.
"Long range gunner types! They'll fire a continuous stream of energy without pause. Don't let their size fool you, they'll pack a punch!" Worse yet, so close to the field, their cables were barely visible to the three fighters!
And, one more agent would appear... though this one, was beyond Wizardmon's data. What looked like a fierce metal claw burst its way from the surface, an unmistakable red veil matching the D-Reaper coating its arm... but what was this? Pulling itself up, the agent's wolf-like head roared to the sky, settling itself on top of the field on all fours. The creature sported a long bladed tail, as well as metal claws across its four feet. Though a cable linked to the back of its neck, this agent seemed to show no concern for flames, that very tail lighting up in a vicious blue flame!
"What on earth..."
No time! The three Bubbles put themselves into motion, their arms aimed dead center at the chest, each focusing on one of the three Digimon. A continuous stream of red bullets would start to soar from their position - and as for 'Agent - Wolf'? Well, it was already sprinting towards Bibi's position, leaving a faint amount of flame in each of its footsteps. Stopping a good twenty feet away, it pivoted on its front leg, and swung its tail in Bibi's direction - a massive arc of sparking blue flame soard, threatening to strike straight across the Garudamon's midsection!
Cooldowns have reset! Three Bubbles have appeared! One Agent - Wolf has appeared! The Bubbles attack with 'Decay Cannon'! Agent - Wolf attacks with '? ? ?'!

Isaac sighed as the last of the agents fell, turning to Timothy and his birds. "Good," he said, his voice somewhat weaker sounding now. Two of his eight dummy heads had been destroyed, so now only six reverberations were backing his voice up. It didn't sound too different, frankly, but it was still quite the noticeable omission. "Burn them to cinders, or slash their connecting cables. Those are the easiest two ways to kill a Reaper's agent. Anything else, and you'll spend way too much time letting the swarm gather." Even in his single-minded focus on destroying the D-Reaper, Isaac could at least spare a few good bits of advice for the others. "Just a warning, though. Never drop your guard. Turn your back for a second, and then . . ."
The sharp, biting embrace of a Pendulum Feet.
The slow, cold realization that he was isolated from his friends.
False temptations whispering in one ear, and frights screaming in the other.
His entire body burning as corrupt data was injected into it.
Silence.
Needless to say, Isaac didn't finish that thought. He simply turned away, slithering off to where Wizardmon was pointing. Not that he wanted to follow Wizardmon's instructions, of course. The wizard had gotten him into this mess in the first place. He was just being the nice guy and not abandoning a grieving Digimon down on his luck.
~~~~
The journey was remarkably free of perils. Isaac's two shattered heads had reformed, the pale light of exposed data leaking through the cracks in the ceramic. No chance in hell they'd be as strong as they were before, but the downtime at least let him rebuild Orochimon's greatest assets. The Organizer still looked like a monolith in the distance, and if Isaac knew anything about the D-Reaper it would mark the finish line. Then again, would it this time? The Reaper seemed even more omnipresent here than it did in the vestiges of Ebemon's mind, as if he and Timothy were the only ones standing in the way of a full outbreak.
No time to panic, though. More were emerging, prompting Isaac to settle into the fighting stance that he had never quite dropped. There were three Bubbles, which frankly wasn't bad. A Horn Striker packed near-Mega levels of punch, as his bruised and battered necks were still feeling the pain from. Pendulum Feet were practically an Ultimate each. Bubbles were near the bottom of the pecking order. If Isaac took one, and each bird took on another . . .
A fourth vessel emerged, and from it was something completely different. It lacked the geometric look of most D-Reaper agents, instead looking like a Digimon wreathed in corrupted data. Metal blades and red goo seemed to clash, forming a discordant mess through which a single red cable could barely be seen. Something gave Isaac a very bad feeling about this, but he knew there was still so much time until he reached the core. He had to hold onto his form for just a bit longer . . .
Then the wolf flicked its tail out, launching a blade of blue flame right at Bibi. Yeah, screw that.
Unfortunately, there was a problem. With the constant stream of attacks from the Bubbles, Isaac had no free opportunity to Digivolve. Every time he tried to begin the process he found himself quickly shimmying away from the incoming streams of Bubbles. "Won't have a free moment to think if these things keep attacking us," he said, continuing to roll away from the bubble streams. "Sooner they go, sooner we can take out the head." Or maybe they would waste their time on an inconsequential foe while leaving themselves open for a bigger one. Fortunately, as someone with 8 spare heads, Isaac really didn't need to worry about that.
He continued to weave back and forth in unpredictable patterns as he moved towards the Bubbles attacking him, heads swaying every which way to try and throw off the Bubbles' aim. As he started approaching melee range he juked to the left, then the right, and then charged off to the left, hoping his display would prevent the Bubbles from easily following. At this point he'd be willing to take a few shots if it meant being able to coil around the Agent's cord.
This time, though, he wouldn't try ripping it in half. Instead, his coil lit up in dark energy, which he promptly aimed at the cord from as close to point blank of a range as possible. Orochimon really didn't have many good cutting moves, but he hoped that the pure weight of the barrage would singe through the cord after enough time and effort. Besides, leading with his tail helped him focus on the real prize; the new mutant that had taken to the field. All eyes were focused on the new Agent to make sure it didn't try and funny business, which Isaac knew would hurt more than anything a Bubbles was capable of.
Combat Log: Recompile has brought all of Isaac's heads back, albeit two in an injured state. Isaac wishes to Digivolve, but due to an endless stream covering fire from the Bubbles can't find a free moment to strike. Isaac approaches his Bubbles, weaving back and forth to throw off its aim, then lunges to entangle it in his coils. Rather than rip it apart, he keeps his eye on Agent - Wolf while trying to shoot through the cable with its Ratling Gun. Rattling Gun: Orochimon shakes the rattle on his tail, bullets of dark energy launching with each shake. The longer Orochimon “fires”, the less accurate they are.
The strike that hit Faluo clearly left a dent in him, oddly... It left a more permanent scar than what he was used to. This was intense. A lot more intense than what they were used to. Also, very painful. From the fact that he could see him bleeding data, it was safe to assume he was on borrowed time. Best he help as much as possible before what he's expecting to be an inevitable end.
Timothy was able to see the hit, is he okay at all? Hopefully. Faluo doesn't seem to be paying it any mind right now. He just hoped that his ninja was fine. Not that he can really focus on it now, given that they were in a pretty deadly battle... That just ended. Okay, nevermind.
Timothy wasn't listening to Wizardmon at the moment after seeing that strike. He started to step of towards Faluo when he was teleported, along with Wizardmon, onto Bibi's shoulder, which caused him to almost fall forward and off of her, but he caught himself on the rest of her shoulder.
Bibi flew next to Faluo, clearly worried about his well being. "Faluo, you okay?"
Faluo nodded, taking a few heavy breaths, damn... It hurt like hell. "Yeah... I'm fine." He continued onward, taking point once again. Bibi was close behind with Timothy and Wizardmon on her shoulder.
Once the long ranged protrusions appeared, Bibi went straight to work. "Fire Hurricane!" She shot this one out and tried to arch it out to where it could encompass each of the protrusions for a few seconds, hopefully enough time to let the flames catch the cable and burn them out, actively avoiding the shots, but likely getting hit a few times.
The other fighter appeared and made it's way to Bibi, Faluo had to assist. He flew in between the wolf and Bibi, trying to resist it. "Cross Cutter!" He fired off blades of wind from his wings and hopefully push it away at least, if not harm it or even be lucky and hit the cable. That would require some fair amount of luck though.
Timothy shouted back to Isaac, "We're fighting as quick as we can! We This is a lot easier said than done!" Ironic, coming from the one who does more speaking than fighting, being weak and fleshy and all doesn't make you a fighter.
Bibi: Fire Hurricane: Tornado of Fire that lasts 2 turns with a 1 turn cooldown after effect ends.
Faluo: Crosscutter: Blades of wind that can cut through a foe.
