Making a Splash (Jack & Hiroyo)

"Ha! Was that an attack or just air from your wings? It did nothing!" Hiroyo was really, really glad there was someone else around to do the actual fighting. She'd gotten blasted through a window by an adult level attack before so a rookie level move should be easy to shrug off!
Except it wasn't, and her back hurt. Oh well, she'd cover her pain with bravado she hopefully wouldn't need.
Although she was about to attempt to throw down with the bird when Bukamon took the hit for Jack. That was a relief right there, she had only gotten hit by some wind and it still smarted, she didn't want to imagine what would happen if he got fire-blasted out here with no medical supplies. "Wow, did you know he was going to turn into this?" She asked Jack as she watched the newly involved Snowcone tussle with the winged menace. Either way the name was proving to be quite fitting!

Jack shook his head, staring, gaping and opened mouth at his partner as he charged into the fray like a rabid gorilla and his icy blue eyes followed the tornado as it twisted and jerked toward him. He snarled and leaped with him clumsy, stumpy limbs, the tornado tossing him, lightly skipping in the sand to just under the passing bird digimon.
"Snow Goblin bolt!" He cried, firing a second powerful volley of icey, rocky snowballs up at the bird's underbelly, firing in a wide arc to escape the need to deal with the wincing headache the wind throwing had given him.
(I thought I posted like 3 days ago, so sorry.)

"R-Rawk?!" the pink feathered bird Digimon squawked in shock as Snowball managed to just straight up plow through their attack, pummeling their underside with yet another barrage of ice. The Rookie level plummeted down as they had the wind beat right out of them, struggling to keep aloft now.
At this point, the Biyomon had lost a lot of their previous gusto fighting. They weren't suicidal enough to want to risk death for some bits or data, especially against a foe actually their size. Hey, even if they WERE some bandit scum, they weren't stupid! They preferred the term practical. The Biyomon scrambled up as they soon began to take flight, pulling an eyelid down with their claw. "I hope you punks get eaten by SandYamnamon! Nyeh!" they squawked irritiably as they began to make a run for it in the air.
Biyomon is attempting to flee.

It was shame Morgan wasn't here. His wings meant he could make escaping a lot trickier for the bird. Between using his bees to potentially harass the bird lower or just straight up chasing it down with his tornado, the FanBeemon had a lot of options available. Heck, even Roger could have tried to foul the bird's wings with his webbing. Just having them here would go a long way towards making her feel more useful than just cheerleading.
Maybe she should rethink hopping into the Digital World without them in the future.
"Where ya going you scaredy bird? Can't stand up to a mon that's just reached child? That's pretty pathetic! Get back down here and apologize!" Hiroyo called, wrapping one hand around her mouth to make the sound carry further. She regretted not acting when it was closer to the ground, at least then she could have thrown sand at it! Actually, maybe she could throw something else.
She pulled her gym bag off her shoulder, a grin splitting her face as she began to swing it around in a circle. Throwing things wasn't really her forte, but if she missed it wasn't like there was anything breakable inside! She took two quick steps to line up her aim and check her timing then let fly, the bag's momentum carrying it after the bird.

Jack charged up to Snowcone, helping him to his feet quickly and giving him a reassuring smile before the goblin quickly turned its angry eyes back toward the fleeing bird, his teeth gnashed and gritted, his fangs wisping little bits of icy mist as he opened his maw again for another blow.
"Snow Goblin Bolt!" Another huge arc of snowballs rained onto the bird, along with Hiroyo's projectile, hoping to bring the bird to the ground once and for all. Maybe for questioning, maybe to finish it off, the bird digimon would have no idea that fate awaiting them

The Biyomon was damn well trying his best to put distance from the pair of humans and that rabid SnowGoburimon; he was leaving them alone now, right?! So why were they still after him?! The pink bird squawked in panic as he picked up the pace of his flying just enough to avoid being clobbered by an onslaught of snowballs... and Hiroya's gym bag (if he wasn't fleeing for his life, he'd have actually commented the human's good throwing arm).
At this point, he was fearing for his life... who knew humans and their Digimon were this bloodthirsty?! "R-RAWK! You all are freaks I'll tell ya! Freaks!" the bird exasperatedly squawked as he in a hurry escalated in altitude to eventually be out of their reach as he flew off in the distance; all that was left of their presence being their shadow off in the sky and a few pink feathers that had been shed in the panic.
Needless to say, the Biyomon was now seriously thinking twice about trying something like that ever again. No bits or data was worth dealing with psycho humans like these two! If he had known humans and their Digimon were this scary, he'd have never bothered them!

Well, that was disappointing. Hiroyo was glad they didn't have to fight for their lives but at the same time she couldn't help but feel cheated. So quick the Biyomon was meant to flee! And it had only been against a new rookie to boot. At least it hadn't made off with any of her stuff like the phone in her gym bag!
...The gym bag she had just thrown after the now fleeing 'mon. Whoops.
"Well!" She started, clapping her hands together and smiling with more cheerfulness than she felt. "That went rather easily. It looks like you've got a fine pal in Snowcone there." She beamed at the both of them and then began to casually saunter towards her bag. Had she heard something crack when it fell? She couldn't remember, she really hoped not!
"I can't say that I'm randomly attacked like that often here," She wasn't lying. It was never random when Roger was involved. "but even if it happens to you it looks like you'll be just fine! At least it looks like your buddy will be able to take care of things until we get to Terminus City."

Jack runs up to Snowcone who's still throwing his limbs about, hooting and shouting after the fleeing bird and Jack wraps his arms around his Digimon's chest from behind, pulling him close with closed eyes, rocking slightly.
"Hey, hey there buddy. Shhh...shhh...you're ok...you're ok...the big bird is gone, ok?" He said in a calm, even tone as the struggling goblin slowly begin to peter out, relaxing against him. "There's my baby boy~" Jack said, patting Snowcone on the hatted head and taking his hand. "So, where to next, then?" He smiled, Snowcone giving her a dopey smile of his own.

Hiroyo took her time going through her bag. It was Jack and Snowcone's first fight together after all and she thought that was probably something special when both partners were new to the weirdness that was the Digital World. So she took her time: refolded her work out shorts and shirt, double checked that throwing the bag had indeed cracked her screen as she had feared. It was an expensive mistake but it wasn't a total loss.
She smiled as she heard Jack talking to Snowcone but kept her head ducked low over her bag to give them some privacy. Once Hiroyo heard Jack talking to her she would lift her head and smile back at the two of them.
"Well, I should probably show you where Terminus is. My partners are waiting there, and it has the Trailmon for going back to the real world." She shouldered her gym bag again and stood. "There's a whole lot of cool places to go though! Whitewater City is great if you like the beach, there's suppose to be ruins in this desert as well. I think, if we want to head to Terminus with all the shops, we need to go east."

Jack stood, dusting himself off and brushing sand futily from Snowcone's shoulders like a fussy mom, taking the Digimon's large hand and curling it in his. He nodded to her, bringing Snowcone up to her as they walked and he looked around a little bit, the goofy naive little smile quickly grew back over his face, unkillable as a sidewalk dandelion.
"Sounds like I good deal to me. Seems like this little adventure has already set us off on the right foot. Isn't that right buddy?" He rustled Snowcone's hat which made the young monster grumble and fiddle to fix it, nodding and looking down.
"Uh huh." Snowcone squeaked, sounding young but still with a voice matching his bulky form.

It was pretty easy for Hiroyo to keep pace with Jack once he started walking. She honestly didn't know which way East was and he set off so determinedly, maybe he knew? Well, they'd either hit the coastline or hit town and could go from there. He certainly didn't seem troubled by their current situation, that grin on his face was infectious!
"I'm glad you think so! You got a little combat practice in and no one almost died!" Hiroyo said cheerfully. She was swinging her arms a little more than necessary as they walked, clearly in a good mood despite her phone. "I'm glad to be of help! Even if, uh, we had a rather serious misunderstanding in the beginning!" She rubbed at the back of her head sheepishly. They could have been saved a lot of walking if Hiroyo had just gone through the subway system entrance to begin with! Then again this exporing new portions of the digital world was pretty fun.

Jack laughed at her, sticking one hand into the pocket of his jeans so that his thumb still stuck out while the other hand grasped tightly to Snowcone's
"You know...that isn't actually the first time someone's thought I was much younger than I actually was. it comes with my stature and being very fair features, it's nothing to worry about, I don't take offense to many things directed at me after all." he said, swinging his hand with Snowcones, humming a tune to himself. "I do hope we come to town soon though, even without the problem of the heat this isn't exactly my idea of a five star vacation." He said, looking down at Snowcone. "And looking at him, I'm sure he'd feel the same."

"Well I'm glad you're not really mad about it! I uh, don't usually make mistakes like that." Hiroyo said with a grin, flipping a strand of hair away from her face. It did make her feel a little better that other people had made the same mistake as her. She would still do her best to never make it again.
"Yeah...I've never been out here before but I have no plans on coming back any time soon!" Hiroyo reached across her back with one arm and stretched the other straight to the sky as if to grasp in in her hands. She was glad she wasn't a real red head at the moment. She'd already have been lobsterized by now! "There should be a town out here. There was a map in Terminus of the continent and I just know I saw one this way! It had a weird metal name...Irondock? No, no.." She trailed off, swapping the position of her arms in the process. "Well, we should find it pretty soon!"

He nodded, continuing to march along with her, kicking up the small wisps of sand with the toes of his shoes, Snowcone turning to him and beginning to mimic the action, giggling to himself as he played against the sand, allowing the young Digimon to forget the heat for a moment, he also began to mimic the tune Zack hummed until the both of them were kicking their feet high in the air and humming like the Wizard of Oz
(So sorry about the delay, I've been recovering from jaw surgery since the week before last)

Hiryo grinned as she listened to them hum and watched them kick sand everywhere. It was nice to see a tamer and partner so at ease with each other. They had only met recently too, if that was Snowcone's first time digivolving, and already they were so close!
If the red head was honest with herself, she was a little jealous.
"I think you two are gonna knock off the entire top of a dune at this rate." She joked as she crossed her arms behind her head. The sun was a tad too warm but that was a minor thing compared to some of the stuff she had experienced in this world. Honestly, the fact that that was her biggest complaint right now was rather nice! "Hey, when we eventually get to somewhere with a Trailmon station you should probably head back to Terminus and check out the shops! There's a lot of upgrades you can buy for your digivice! Uh, the shop keep is a little freaky though."
She shuddered at the memory of Andromon's form: the withered flesh, the wires reaching from fleshy bits to metal bits. She felt guilty, the digimon had been pretty nice even though she had acted quite rudely, but she just couldn't seem to get past the weirdness of the awkward flesh and metal combination. "I mean, he's a nice guy! I just...I don't know. I think something about him just pushes all my 'ick' buttons at once."
(Oh wow, I hope you're feeling better! Feel free to take your time, health comes first!)
