A simple Key [Carlos/Closed]

“Yeah, no offense taken I guess.” The imp shrugged a bit, facing up at the fox. Dio continued nodding at every one of K’s answers. They weren’t exactly the answers he wanted, but they were good answers regardless, all of them steering him towards a clear answer: he needed an actual, tangible goal, only then would things actually change and improve. Though one of them did stick out to him.
“Innkeeper? You don’t look the part.” He commented with a snicker, glancing at K up and down trying to wrap his head around someone like her owning an inn. She would certainly look a bit out of place with her cape and general teacher like demeanor.
Meanwhile a still rather awestruck Carlos had finally approached the two, his brain still trying to process how quickly the match had been decided. But frankly he was a bit more worried over the digimon’s physical well being…ok mostly Dio’s seeing how he had been the only one to actually receive damage.
“Well, that was intense…how you feeling Dio?” He’d ask, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. They might had had some trouble getting along, but it still didn’t change the fact they were partners. He couldn’t help but feel linked to the small creature and feel empathetic towards him.
Dio couldn’t help but flinch a bit as Carlos did that, a small jolt of pain coursing through the his injured back. K had certainly not been soft with him, even if she had clearly held back a bit. As much as he hated to admit it, seeing her beckoning him to get closer for a heal was a rather welcoming sight. At least it was better than being in pain…even if it still felt somewhat embarrassing to accept it, his pride hurting more just with the thought alone.
“Tch.” He would fold his arms very tightly, begrudgingly sitting next to the renamon, his face being overtaken by a noticeable blush as he waited for her to heal his wounds. “Don’t any of you tell anyone.” The imp warned, his practically red face making it difficult for Carlos to take him seriously, but decided to cut him some slack and not be a smartass this time.
“I mean, he has burned a shrub once, does that count?” Carlos jokingly said later, when K brought the whole Dark lord schtick up. Dio however, had a very clear (or very unclear depending on how you looked at it) answer.
“That’s the thing…I just don’t know where the title came from.” The imp admitted with a shrug, looking just as puzzled as his partner now was. “It’s weird, ever since I came out of the egg there’s been this…feeling, gnawing at the back of my head. Like I’m meant to be something other than…me.” He said, gazing upwards to the sky, looking somewhat contemplative. “And the title of “Dark Lord” always popped up whenever I felt that, like they’re connected, as if...I've heard it before.” “So you saying you feel like you’re meant to be a Dark Lord? Like destiny?”
“Yes…or maybe I was one already and can’t remember.”
Then came a big question, one that Dio had to think and ponder for a moment before answering “Because you wanted me to learn how to improve? Not just fighting wise but the way I see things? Either that or you like kicking rookies around.”

The both of them seemed to take what she said in stride, the impmon also seemed to take very little offense to it once she explained herself. She wish that she could of said it a tad better but the past was in the past at this point.
"Back before I started my journey yes, I was just a normal Northern Renamon at that point."
There was a small smile and she found her brow quirking as she saw the Impmon look her over. There was a moment where she considered berating the mon but it passed quickly and she'd shift a little bit. Taking it easy now that fight was really over at this point. She noted the demeanor that Carlos approached them with and gave a small smile to him.
She found herself frowning slightly when Dio flinched; was it likely from their fight? Well she hadn't actually held back too much; after all she really didn't want to hurt the Impmon. Just teach him a few things about what experience could bring.
The renamon would of course chuckle lightly as the Impmon sat next to her. She'd ginger administer her Aura to the injured locations. The energy seeping into it after a few long moments. It'd of course treat any minor wounds he had and make sure that he wasn't bleeding anywhere.
K tilted her head slightly when he warned them not to tell anyone. Who would she tell? The birds? She'd shake her head a little bit and sigh softly. Oh there would be a lot of work for her it seemed...
When Dio started to speak however about where the title came from K quietly mulled it over. Trying to figure out what all it could mean. If it had come from in the back of his head, he would of been a rendition of another digimon. One that had been digitized and given a second chance much like she had but.. In a much different way.
"If it's in the back of your head it's likely in a prior life you were such a being. A Being that held the Title of Dark lord. But that doesn't mean you're bound to that decision. Bound to be such a being as one of them. They're like children compared to some real threats the digital world are facing now days."
The renamon held up two fingers and her face split into a frown.
"These Dark spires appearing out of the blue, restricting digivolution higher than Armor Champion. Able to be destroyed; but their guardians that are controlled by Rings are fairly strong."
Her middle finger lowered and left the pointer finger all on it's own.
"And this mysterious entity known as D-reaper. I don't understand them but the beast I fought against and ultimately lost against was strong enough to almost Destroy my Mega form at the time."
There was a touch of sadness in her voice along with the fact she wasn't sharing everything that had happened to her. But whether or not they'd inquire was besides the point.
"You should ask yourself, will you be bound by the past that you don't know? Or forge a new one with the future you can mold?"
The impmon then answered her questions with more questions. She'd tilt her head just a little bit and chuckle at the very last statement. She didn't really like the idea of kicking rookies around. It felt like fighting with children sometimes.
"I wanted to see you. See your struggles, See your problems. They're all etched into how we fight. You spoke a lot during it; one way or another. But yes, I wanted you to learn how to improve, and the way that you see things. It was quite eye opening."
The renamon's finger waggled after a few moments as it had still been raised.
"Which brings me to my original point. Digivolution. A power you desire. My first Key is that of Control-"
The moment that she said the word, the very location they were in shuddered as though it was reacting to the sheer amount of power in it and behind the one that had said it.
"-Which is an integral part of my being. Everything in my life has been in some semblence of it, and everything about myself screams of it in one way or another. Whether I lose it or keep it. But that does bring me to what I wanted to see."
K would shift a little bit and exhale slowly. She could feel her control lessen and the pressure that she had earlier returned. Making the entire location shudder with the sheer force of it.
"I let go a little bit and it does this. But if I restrain myself... It does this."
There was but a single moment before the pressure vanished completely and the renamon seemed to the two to have almost no power at all. The sheer difference was so staggering that the brush around them seemed confused.
"That is what it means to have Control. But my key isn't the point here, what is the point is what I'm controlling. My power. I suspect that your First key is that of the key of power itself.. but! That is simply my idea, it's not something that needs matching or needs thought. It comes with yourself. It comes in different ways, the way that you either have your power, control your power, or have your power control you."
She'd lift a finger and the sword from earlier would appear at the tip of it, upturned and massive in comparison to her body. It would dwarf the three for a moment before she'd exhale and the blade vanished in the next.
"You are but a small flame, one that needs fanning and one that needs someone to fan it. You cannot grow on your own as we've already established. But Carlos here is likely willing to see you do so. You have a man willing to fan the flames, but you don't know how you're tools are gone and your tent is ablaze with uncertainty."
There was a small pause and she'd gently put a single hand ontop of the Impmon's head. It was a very gentle touch one that seemed to sing rather than slam as it had earlier.
"I will be the one to provide you this tool only if you want me to. There are others that would be able to do so but you'd have to seek them out. I cannot point you to them as your ventures of course would have to have them appear from the chance that you ran into me. And trust me, no one will likely be as forgiving as I was about that sudden attack that you thrust upon us."
The last part was more a warning to the others that they couldn't really go around and do that, but the Renamon figured that they wouldn't anyways.. Considering that she had molly womped the impmon without doing too much.

As embarrassing as it was to accept healing from K, as it felt almost like asking for charity, he would be lying if he said it didn’t felt good to be rid of the pain. He felt the energy sip into him, revitalizing him and healing his wounds. A while later he would stand back up and quickly go back to sitting by Carlos’ side.
“ThanksIguess.” He muttered out, his blush slowly dissipating while he scratched his now painless back.
Once again, her questions regarding his possible past got him thinking for a good while. He pondered for a good while before giving her the answer he felt was right.
“I won’t let my past dictate my future…but I don’t know if I should just forget it either.” He said, looking at his feet, looking lost in thought. “I mean, if you’re still holding onto that memory there must be a reason.” Carlos chimed in. “Yeah...it’s like, I feel there’s something I should remember about it…but I just don’t.” he said, with a shrug.
As the fox proceeded to count down the problems the digital world was experiencing at the moment, Carlos couldn’t help but feel a bit worried, if almost sad. Other than some small issues (namely the high chance of death by giant digimon) this whole world seemed like in a better state than the Earth, and yet here they were, discussing two possibly world ending threats that could possibly end with everything. Seemed as this place wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows as he expected.
She would soon raise a pretty worrying point about one of the threat’s power. Apparently this DReaper had been powerful enough to defeat even her, and judging by her tone, she hadn’t simply “lost” that one time. That was something even Dio couldn’t ignore.
“Almost destroy…you mean…deleted?” The imp asked, for being careful with his wording, not wanting to upset K with his question. Both her sheer power and masterful control over said power was certainly impressive for the two, but nothing could prepare them for when she’d raise her massive sword above their heads, dwarfing the trio so much it forced Carlos and Dio to look up, completely awestruck. Then, shortly after, finally came the moment of truth, what the imp had been waiting for since they had began talking. His key, or at least K’s take on what his key was.
Power.
She did say it was mostly conjecture on her part, but truth be told, Dio felt she was probably right, or at least on the right track. The word did mean a lot for the small imp, it had been beaten into his head over and over ever since he had been reborn. Power kept him alive. Power brought respect. Power helped you defend that which you treasured most…so it only made sense his first key would be power.
Before he could think further in that, K would talk once again, offering him a rather generous offer: teaching him, schooling him, whatever the case was, the offer boiled down to the same thing. She wanted to offer him a helping hand…almost literally, as he would soon find out. His eyes would widen just a bit as she’d gently placed one hand on his head, the faint blushing returning once again to his cheeks. Damnit it, he almost wished she’d go back to slamming him about, at least he’d know how to react to that. He really wasn’t used to any of this kind and cuddly nonsense…even if this brought back a faint memory of Carlos’ girlfriend scratching his Pagumon form behind the ears, and how soothing that felt. So, in a weird way, he was welcoming of it, if only because it didn’t feel condescending, but genuinely caring. Yet another thing he hadn’t felt in a long time
“Heheh. But what if they ignore me too, how else am I supposed to get their attention?” He asked half jokingly half seriously, before falling silent for a moment, thinking her proposition very thoroughly.
“In that case…” He stopped, trying hard to find the right words, “…ugh why is it so hard to ask this…K, would you teach me about my key…teach us how to get there?” He asked, looking up expectantly at her for a moment, before shooting a glare at Carlos.
“If I’m to get stronger so should my partner. It’s nonnegotiable.” He declared, not wanting his partner to have second thoughts. She was right, they needed each other if they wanted to grow stronger, but it would be pointless if Carlos didn’t agree with the decision he had taken for both of them.
However, the man couldn’t have been happier. Having the chance of being trained by the digital equivalent of Buddha (that knew how to fight) was obviously too good to pass on, especially for a lover of old timey kung fu movies like he was. “You kidding me? Of course I want K to teach me!” He said with a wide smile, sounding uncharacteristically excited at the prospect.
"Its settled then." He would nod with a grin, before looking back at the fox, waiting for her response.

There was a small smile to follow as she noted that the Impmon looked much better after her application of her healing powers. She had other forms that were much more suited to this sort of thing and would be able to heal much more than what Aura was capable of.
"Of course Child. It'd be ill fitting if I didn't take care of those I hurt one way or another. I might of been a tad too rough."
There was a soft sigh and the renamon leaned just a little bit staring at the two of them as the impmon thought over her questions. She'd quirk a small brow at hearing that he shouldn't forget the past either.
"Don't forget where you came from or where that will lead you. But don't let it control you. I learned that the hard way. give it time, perhaps as you digivolve and work your way up to higher levels you may start remembering things. It's how I started to remember things about myself back when I was still 'just an inkeeper'."
K of course sighed a little bit and clasped her hands together when Dio asked her a somewhat loaded question. One that was worded in such a careful and thoughtful way that K couldn't really get angry or distressed about it in any way. She was well over the fact that she had lost, but she didn't want to lose again in the future. That is what this was for, that is what her training was for.
"When I fought the D-reapers and their minion they overwhelmed me quite well. We fought for a short time, they ended up with something I couldn't counter. Upon feeling those teeth on my neck and my neck snapping. I was deleted. I had lost completely. My data started to dissipate and had it not been for Jesmon grabbing as much of me as he could and warping out. We wouldn't be having this conversation. I'd be part of one of the D-reaper minions right now. He'd not only have one super mega core, but three. Can you imagine how much power someone could get from managing to absorb that much data."
Their responses to her display of power and the control of it wasn't surprising. It was in fact something she had hoped for. She'd gingerly clasp her hands together after showing that sword. She had to admit it wasn't her even showing off; it wasn't her using more than one Key. What if she had used all six keys? Four of which she knew. Even upon thinking about the ones she didn't leant her another clue to something she wasn't sure about.
.....S...... i....
The echo was load and powerful in her head, almost distracting. What was she coming into? What was the word that her third blank core was trying to tell her? What sort of power would she have if she could locate this mysterious echo? She didn't know. The reaction to her pat was also expected, but her smile felt muted in comparison to the earlier one.
The... F-fifi...Fifth key...
K's eyes widened for a moment and she'd put a hand to her head looking to the pair for a moment before giving them a small smile. She was making progress still, learning her keys was important and learning about what she was given or what she could give was the only thing she had left now.
"Hmm... A good question that. But that wouldn't be for me to decide unfortunately. It'd be up to them who knows. I certainly don't."
K however blinked a few times as the impmon seemed to struggle for a moment to ask her something. Then without much of a pause following it he asked her to teach them. There was a small span of silence from the Renamon before hse chuckle lightly.
"Of course. I will teach you both what I can about Keys or other things you may want to know. I don't have all the answers you may seek and some of them no one could find them but yourself. What was that common saying..."
The renamon rubbed her muzzle thoughtfully and her ears flicked around for a few moments before she perked up.
"A door, A lock and a Key. You can open one, but you can't have them all. I may be able to show you your Keys. But it's up to you two to find the lock they go to, and then to open the door."
With Carlos' response to the unsaid question she only grinned a little bit. What was unfortunate is that she didn't have anything immediately for the young man. She'd consider something briefly and mull it over.
"Currently however I don't think I have anything that would be of use to you Carlos. I have several tamer friends that do things certain ways that I've seen be effective as well as ways that people are. If you're willing to skip out on the next lesson I'll have something far more concrete for you. But patience will be a very important lesson for the both of you anyways. I think with the time you'll have during the next 'lesson' I give Dio you can use it to gather information from whitewater. It's a vast hub that can give you access to almost as many resources as Terminus. I expect you to use it if you agree. As it's also the closest city to where we currently are."
There was a small pause and she'd consider something; her expression grew incredibly serious and that icy tone inserted itself into what she said next.
"On note of the Dark Spires or D-reapers. You two have to promise me something when it comes to them. "

“Too rough? Hmph, I can take whatever you throw at me, I’ll still come back.” Dio said somewhat proudly, even puffing out his chest a bit as he did so. “Besides, I’d rather that than if you would have gone easy on me.”
As usual, she did raise a good point about not letting his past take control of his future, something that, while he thought was a bit farfetched, he wasn’t going to allow to happen regardless. Dark Lord or not, he had escaped the Dark Area looking for a brighter future to himself, and he wasn’t going to let any of his memories, real or imagined to take him away from said goal.
“Duly noted, I’ll let you know if I find out a bit more about my past.”
That said, as soon he saw K’s reaction upon being asked details about her fight with the Dreaper, the purple digimon couldn’t help but immediately regret having brought it up. Luckily, she wasn’t all that angry or upset over it, it seemed, and was willing to let them know of her hard fought battle…and the price she almost had to pay for it.
“Damn…I’m sorry.” Was all the man could say, unsure what even would be the appropriate response. After all, she had died…but had gotten a second chance. Most didn’t get that lucky.
“Well…at least you’re still around and not…you know.” Dio said, somewhat awkwardly. The thought of a Dreaper controlled K was…a whole new level of frightening. That amount of power on the wrong hands could easily send the whole world into a chaos that could last for years…if it even survived that.
Both partners were quick to drop the subject as soon as K continued with her own answers, not wanting to ruin the mood with such bleak thoughts.
Especially now that the mood had cheered up considerably, as evidenced by the small yet beaming smile Dio now had. He was certainly glad she would be willing to show him her ways.
“Thanks…” He said in a completely sincere and happy tone...for all of five seconds, as the blush would return momentarily before he awkwardly rushed the subject to ignore it. “…ahem, anyways! Let’s get started!” The imp said with a cocky grin, standing up from the stump with a quick jump, looking positively pumped for this.
“I’d much rather know we’re the door, keys and locked are located without being able to open them than having to stumble around blindly trying to find them.” The man commented, scratching his head. In other words, he’d rather have his partner get some help finding his way like this, even if they would have to be the ones to do the walking.
“Oh, ok.” The man would say, a hint of disappointment in his tone. Well, guess he wasn’t going to get training with digital Obi Wan just yet. At the very least K was nice enough to give him something else to do in the meantime, something that could possibly help them out in the future.
How ironic it was however that she would be sending him to do all that to Whitewater, the place they had tried to find and the reason they had stopped to talk with K in the first place. It seemed that one way or another she had still helped him reach Whitewater. “Just point me in the right direction and I’ll get there.” He said with a nod.
However, before they could get started it seemed K had something else to ask of them. Namely, a promise regarding D-reapers and Spires. The duo shared a glance, wondering what she could ever ask of them, before turning back to face her.
“Ok sure, what is it?”

"I'll keep that in mind for future fights then."
The renamon shook her head a little bit, mulling over the idea of her fighting against the Impmon in the future. Gauging his growth as he likely would find himself in higher and higher levels much like she had. It was a strange thought to think that not even half a year ago she was still an innkeeper in Eastern timberlands.
Now she was here, steadily on her way to do something that she wasn't even sure if it was going to work. She'd exhale slowly and mull over the progress she had made briefly and tried to use that to compare to some sort of regiment she might be able to impose... But ultimately it just seemed somewhat out of place so she just bundled that up and tossed it to the side as you would trash. She instead focused on the matter at hand for the moment.
"Of course, but if it's anything you don't feel like sharing I also don't mind if you have to keep something from me. After all I wouldn't share you my entire history, else we'd be here all year!"
The renamon chuckled lightly and shook her head, most of her years were spent in service to people that came through to her inn. It wasn't much of a surprise really and she was firmly planted in the serve others sort of bit now anyways. So her story might be boring to these two were she to really tell it.
However upon the sobering subject she'd rub her muzzle slightly, not looking uncomfortable but looking sad over.. Something that probably related to the issue she had gone through. But it lasted for maybe a moment or two before she'd shake her head again. She wasn't here to dwell on that; what was done was done after all.
"It's nothing to really worry about at the moment. The most I can do is forgive the one that did it to me and move on."
She'd wave her hand softly and feel something deep inside sort of shift suddenly. There was a massive increase to her pressure for a moment before the renamon got it under control; coughing awkwardly. However the echo in her head was so loud that it actually stunned the digimon for almost a minute.
The Fifth key is Forgiveness.
She'd blink and shake her head, a hand coming up to rub at her muzzle. Perhaps it was talking to all these people, interacting and growing further that she was learning of these keys. She only truly knew one of the five now. She couldn't help but wonder what it truly meant to have each and every one of them.
"Erm sorry about that. But yes we can get started almost immediately."
The renamon slowly stood up, dusting off her thighs for a second or two before raising her brows to what Carlos said.
"Knowledge of something is good, but understanding them is better. My goal is to get you two knowledge, that way you can understand how to use them on your own. If that makes sense."
She could sense disappointment in the tone of the man and she'd let out a soft sigh; shaking her head just a little bit.
"Don't worry. It's better if I don't rush with the two of you, I'd rather not teach you something haphazardly and have it be the death of you later on."
The renamon would blink for a few moments and glance to dio before gesturing towards where Whitewater lay. It wasn't too far from where they were and the renamon felt like the man would be fine on his travel to the nearby city. He'd be able to spot it once he got within a couple miles at this point.
"If you want me to I can fly you there very quickly. A few minutes at best."
She'd tilt her head a little bit and look the both of them in the eyes one after the other before her icy tone returned.
"Destroy the Spires where they stand. Fight the D-reapers but don't kill yourself for either. Play it carefully no matter what you do about them and make sure if you know ahead of time that you will be fighting them. Plan. Make sure your allies know of it. Make sure to cover every aspect of those fights before you approach them or you will suffer grievous consequences more than anything I could ever manage."

“Well, we have plenty of time these days, so maybe we should get together and share life stories.” Carlos chimed in. He said it half jokingly but honestly was a bit curious as to what kind of life both of the digimon had had that led them to this moment, to being as they were now.
Seeing the usually dispassionate and calm K looking sad, even if it was for a moment, was a good sign for the two of them that it was probably wise not to ask her further questions about it, even if they were curious. Despite having some gaps in the memory department, Dio knew full well the pains of deletion and being reborn, so he wasn’t about to pressure her.
“Hmph, you're one of a kind, K. I don’t think I could forgive someone if I they deleted me. Specially if I remembered who they were.” Dio said, rubbing the back of his head. He wasn’t sure whether to admire her for being able to forgive someone like that, or find her too naïve to do such a thing. As far as he knew, if you forgave your killer you were only giving the chance to come and kill you again.
Alarmingly, as soon as she said that she seemed to be overtaken momentarily by…something. Whatever it was, it was strong enough to apparently stun and daze her for a moment, and while she’d soon continue acting as if nothing was wrong, that was something neither of them could ignore.
“You sure you’re ok?” Carlos asked, even offering her a hand to help her get back on her feet, not that she ended up needing it of course, and they would soon moved to the next subject as if nothing happened.
“Eh, don’t worry about me, there’s always next time.” He’d later shrug to the renamon, not wanting to make a big deal out of it. Was he still somewhat disappointed by this? A little, but at least she was giving him something to do and not simply leaving him by the wayside. “And don’t worry, if I die it’ll probably be on me.” He added with a chuckle.
Surprisingly, what she made them promise wasn’t to avoid those large threats completely as they were expecting her to (possibly because that would be impossible in the long run), but telling them to be extra careful around them, as well as giving them pretty good advice on how not to die to them. Not even Dio thought of saying a witty comeback to her, this was no joking matter. With a serious expression, the duo would nod once in agreement.
“We promise.”
With that out of the way, it seemed like their new adventure was finally ready to begin, all that was left was for Carlos to make his way safely to Whitewater.
“Alright…guess I’ll be seeing you later. Try not to upset our teacher too much, will ya Dark Lord?” The young man said, a teasing smile on his face.
“Only if you try to not get your dumb ass killed without me around.” The imp replied in a joking tone almost unlike himself, which gladly surprised Carlos. He was so used to his partner replying in a rather more violent fashion to even the more harmless of his jokes. Perhaps this was all they needed, a good teacher to show them the right way.
The man chuckled to himself a bit, patting the imp on the head as he did so, which was met with an annoyed huff from Dio. Standing back up again, he then turned to face K. “Be safe you two, alright? I won’t be long.” And with that he began walking walking down the road once again, following the general direction that K had pointed him towards, looking back at the other two while waving a bit. The imp simply stared back until his tamer was out of sight, not returning the wave at any moment.
“Stay safe, dumbass.” He would then mutter to himself, looking somewhat melancholic for a moment, before turning to face his would be “sensei” for an unspecified amount of time, grinning with anticipation. The training could not begin soon enough.
“So, when are we beginning? The Dark Lord wishes to start the training posthaste!”
Meanwhile, some distance away from them, the young human found himself alone on the road, the chirping of birds the only thing keeping him company on the walk. Twenty minutes of walking later he would find himself face to face with the city he would be spending some time in, not too far in the distance. There was just the smallest feeling of loneliness now that he found himself just like he had been a week ago: partner less. Turning back one more time to look at the wilderness behind him, he couldn’t help but think about his partner, and how much this training would actually change him.

"It's a lot of Inkeeping. As I was an Inkeeper for litterally a thousand digital years. My change into this apostle was more recent than anything."
The renamon chuckled lightly and shifted a little bit, rubbing her muzzle thoughtfully. It was difficult to really think about how long she had been there without doing much; she had never really gone for it before. Never really went out of her role as a caretaker for others there. She never fought, bled and did things like she had been doing.
She had never died fighting for what she believed.
"I forgave them because they were not themselves; controlled by an entity such as the D-reaper.. Well. It's something that is so overwhelmingly powerful that a minion of it could destroy a mega if unprepared. If Guru had been in his own mind, we would of met as friends. Not foes."
There was a soft sigh and she'd shake her head, looking at her hands. She could feel the pain of everything from that fight still like it had happened yesterday. It still reminded her of her failure.
It still reminded her of what she had to become to fight against such a being.
Her head jerked just a little bit when Carlos asked if she was okay. There was a moment she considered herself; was she truly okay? Was she as a person whole? Was she what she could of been, what she had been? A small frown and she'd shake her head.
"Time heals all wounds, mine is still fresh and yet to scar. I will be okay with time but for now? My keys will show me what I need to do and what i need to become. I want to walk a path of my own, for my own."
She'd clench her hands a bit and stare at the two; her serious tone coming into play once more. It was something that was more surprising when she was talking about others.
"I served the people before as an Innkeeper. If I am to become more than just an apostle of a knight, I will have to be ready to serve more than just the people. I must serve the future too."
There was a serious moment before she'd chuckle and she'd dip her head in a nod. He was right there was always next time; but his comment on him dying brought a small glint to her eyes.
"If you are to be my students, my Disciples so to speak. You won't go down easily once we've got a few lessons into the both of you. Have some faith in yourself even if no one else does."
Their agreement to her 'demand' only managed to make the renamon grin widely. Then their exchange brought a much needed eyebrow raise. She was rather surprised at how quickly they were growing before her and it made her desire something similar with a human of her own. But that feeling was quickly dashed.
She was meant for something else.
"Don't worry, as far as danger goes out here is by far one of the safer places. Most of the wildlife here doesn't bother with this area anymore."
She'd give him a small bow and watch the human depart before turning to Dio. Staring down at him with a small bit of warmth in her eyes. It was that of hope for the future along with a plethora of other emotions. His question however only managed to bring a grin to her face.
"Immediately of course! Now I'm going to teach you something important..."
And so would K start teaching one of her Disciples a very important lesson; something that she hoped would make him understand his place a little better along with giving him some very useful information for the future. Something that he without a doubt could use without too much struggle.
A way to surpass his limits, and a way to reach further power by not consumption of form.
But consumption of Knowledge.
