The main street was alive with people and traffic as Hiroyo made her way to Kan’s shop. The streetlights illuminated everything with an even white light, no flickering or missing lights in this part of town. The lights from the store fronts cast warm pools of light on the sidewalk where people gathered together to stand and chat. Hiroyo wove her way around these pockets of people with a smile on her face and a swing on her step. The bag she carried on her arm thumped against the medium length dress she wore. Flowers bloomed along the hem and sent spiraling vines up with yet more blossoms along their length. She enjoyed the way they seemed to reach for her, as if reaching for the sun. It was nice to feel wanted, even if it was in an incredibly ego-boosting way.
The sun had just barely set and the air was still pleasantly warm, a perfect night for window shopping and she spent equal amounts of time peering at pretty dresses and top-line athletic gear and oohing and aahing over each category in equal measure. It was nice to be in such a crowd and not have to worry about a dinosaur stepping on her or some rookies causing chaos in the streets or, well, any of the other oddness that the digital world liked to dish up.
At least in this crowd if someone took offense to her existence to the point of physical harm she could do something about it, and have a pretty good shot of winning to boot.
Soon her sneakered feet carried her away from the more crowded main street. She paused before an alleyway, one hand rising to adjust the knitted cloche hat she wore. Was this the right way? She had been half concussed and generally suffering the first, and so far only, time she had been carried to the spirit user’s adobe. Less carried and more airlifted really, and she was learning it was surprisingly difficult to retrace her steps when she hadn’t actually taken any to the shop. The red head had walked herself and the twins back home, sure, but that had been while still more exhausted than she would admit to and preoccupied with other things. Hiroyo squared her shoulders, straightened her spine and set off down the slightly dimmer alley, determined to make it to her destination no matter how twisty or turned about the path got.
It turned out that it took her a good twenty minutes to get where she needed to be but that was okay! There was no time limit on her visit! And it wasn’t like she was expected or anything, she was just dropping by to drop off some wine as a thank you gift! She hoped he would like it, although, come to think of it, she didn’t even know if he drank?
She made a face at her own silliness then reached up to knock at the door. No sense in just standing here looking silly! “Hello? Anyone home?” Oh man, it would be pretty embarrassing if she had come all this way and he was off in the Digital World or something! 'Well, I can always chalk it up to learning the path for next time!' She thought, grabbing the optimistic thought and holding to it. She wasn't going to let self-doubt ruin her good mood yet!

How many days in a row had he gone without sleep?
Silvermon let out a soft sigh as he could feel the resting body of his spirit user host somewhere deep within his 'body'. The shopkeeper had spent several all nighters to finish some big commission work that would end up setting his shop up nicely for a good amount of time.
He did this sort of thing once or twice a year to make ends meet for most of it; which was pretty surprising. But the spirit hadn't a clue who the people were that he did these things for as the items in question always changed.
The spirit really didn't have much to do in the house anymore; not with the other spirits locked away inside of his sword or the fact that most of the place was sort of taken in the way that you couldn't interact with it without messing up a very delicate balance.
So he was somewhat forced to remain upstairs, watching tv and reading over newspapers to keep up on the news. Some bits and pieces made sense to him while others just lacked the cohesiveness of the rest.
There were a few articles today for example that caught his eye, something about some disturbance downtown a few weeks ago that just got reported. Along with some examples of what to do in case of an attack.. A strange mix of coincidences that marked the appearance of a digimon perhaps?
His mulling was cut short as he was alerted to the knocking of the downstairs; he almost stuck his head out of the window to see who it was but avoided that fact as he didn't want people to freak out about 'ghosts' or something if it was someone that couldn't see him.
With a gentle huff he'd pad downstairs, sword easily sliding into his hand and then onto his hip holster. If it was someone that wanted a fight or to damage the store he'd have a couple things to do or say to them.
He'd get maybe halfway down the stairs before his eyebrows shot up and a large grin spread across his face. He recognized the individual that was on the other side of the door. His tail wagged a little bit and he'd gingerly open it up after a few long moments.
"Hello there Hiroyo. It's been a bit! I'm Kan's Silvermon spirit; a lot has changed since we last met. Do you want to come inside?"
The spirit would open the door just a little bit wider if she did, if not he could easily step onto the other side of the door and lock it so they could continue elsewhere. Having a lovely chat with someone like Hiroyo would likely just make his day!
"Kan spent a few days being away working so I'm sort of keeping things in check while he rests."

There was a very big gap between who Hiroyo expected to open the door and who actually opened the door. Big enough that she was left speechless for a moment until the 'mon had finished speaking and her brain caught up.
"Oh! Silvermon! You're looking-" She cast a rather bold gaze from his toes to his head before resuming speaking. She honestly had trouble connecting this polite spirit with the growling mess she had briefly met before. The difference was as large as that between, well, the digital world and the normal world. She smiled at him as she tried to force her shoulder muscles to unknot themselves by force of will alone. "- a lot better. I mean honestly, you were pretty terrifying before."
Trust Hiroyo to be blunt even when nervous!
"I would love to come in, I actually brought over a 'thank you for saving our lives' gift." She grinned as raised the bag at her side, the outline of something bottle shaped leaning against the side of the bag. What she didn't mention was that the gift was also a bribe to hopefully get herself invited in. It was a wonderful night, and she was loath to meet it, but the questions she needed answers to were best asked in privacy.
The red head didn't mind looking like she was talking to herself in public but some of what she wanted answers about was sensitive and personal topics.
Her smile eased into something more natural as he held the door for her, that simple courteous act going quite far. She stepped more daintily over the threshold than was strictly called for, even going so far as to pull the sides of her dress a little so it wouldn't get shut in the door.
"Ah, did he overwork himself then? He should be careful not to do that too often, it'll shorten his life." She herself had taken to sneaking off to the Digital World every now and then for naps and short trips with the twins. "Since he's not here, does he like wine? Or do any of you? It's a merlot but I can swap it out with a different kind if needed." She paused as if a thought had just occurred to her. "If h-you don't like wine I can get something else."

Silvermon raised his brows just a little bit at the sweeping gaze that graced his body; he wouldn't say that he did not enjoy the attention in a way. There was a slight change in body language for a few moments and there was a soft chuckle at what Hiroyo said.
"Ah yes, My corrupted state. I'm sorry if it was a tad unnerving. Being stuck in a mirror for nearly a millennia will do that for someone."
It really wasn't a surprise to him that was the general reaction he got right away; he could imagine that most people would call him a liar too but it was fairly true this was his 'true form'. The long list of differences between the two renditions of this particular spirit was... Well. It wasn't something to simply shake a finger at.
"Really now? That's lovely; we weren't really expecting anything to come from it in such a manner like this. Then again I think you're one of the few adult humans Kan has come across..."
A small smile quickly spread onto his muzzle and the brows that were raised a few moments before looked rather pleased in comparison. He'd make a soft sweeping gesture of invitation and open the door wider allowing the Human to easily come in. He was just as quick to close the door as he was to open it. He'd quickly give the lock a switch and exhale softly. The off chance that someone saw him was very low as well as anyone that did likely wouldn't say a thing as they were already digitally aware and wouldn't raise a fuss for a digimon being out in plain sight.
"This usually happens once or twice a year for bigger commissions or work loads that he does for some groups. He doesn't ask questions when fixing things or who they're for; so It gives him a little bit more in the term of free range. After such an event he usually takes off time but.. This time around I wanted to catch up on things."
There was a soft chuckle and the spirit gestured to the stairs in the back of the shop. It would lead up to the spirit user's home which while clean was no where near the level of the pristine nature of the downstairs. Then again he lived up there so it wouldn't be surprised at the subtle difference...
"He does not drink unfortunately. Last time he did it had some very bad results for him and us. Randomly evolving at the worst times, made it quite a problem when he was younger. I on the other hand do Drink; but Sovereigns above it has been quite a long time since I've had anything!"
There was a chuckle and he'd pause giving a small frown before patting his sword, the blade looked to shift all it's own for a moment before settling back down. Silvermon would flash a quick smile, peering at the bag after a few moments.
"Merlot sounds just fine honestly, we needn't worry about the others though they're all sealed in my sword."
She was being awfully considerate of the idea if they didn't like wine she could get something else for him or kan. It was somewhat charming and the spirit chuckled before taking the first step on the staircase.
Whether or not the human took their time looking over the downstairs of the shop the spirit wouldn't lag on showing her up to where the spirit user lived. There was quite a bit to take in after all and he wasn't about to rush her.
Of course once upstairs the spirit placed the sword near the kitchen entry, the upstairs home resembling a flat more than anything though it seemed to lack a proper entry way in comparison. A closet and some coat hangars were immediately available even if you had to almost turn completely around and the kitchen while 'smallish' was still large enough for four people to fit comfortably in.
The distinct lack of doors was immediately apparent as you could transition between the kitchen, living room and even some of the closets. The only two doors that were upstairs were the restroom and one of the two 'bedrooms'. The spirit scratched his neck and gave the human a small smile.
"Well this is more or less it. If you want to take a seat I'll get the glasses out? Wine is best with good company is it not?"

"There really are a lot of kids running around in the digital world, isn't there? It's strange, some of them seem so much older than they should be! I don't know if it's the time difference or y'know." Hiroyo lifted a shoulder in a half shrug as she stepped inside. She was enchanted by Silvermon's manners, he certainly acted quite differently than he had before! It seemed both mind and body had changed dramatically. "Either way it gets kind of lonely, not having anyone of the same age around to talk to." That was one of the reasons she had deliberately sought out Kan again after all.
Hiroyo lingered in the store for only a moment before following after Silvermon. She could probably come back later! If she didn't get herself thrown out that was. That was a possibility she was positive wouldn't happen. All she had to do was not mess this up. Normally she would say that was as easy said as done, sadly this related to the Digital World which liked to tear up the best laid plans like a cat with a newspaper.
"Doesn't you piloting his body around negate the sleep? Or is it that his body is replaced with yours?" She followed him up the stairs with her tongue dripping questions, her movements full of confidence called up easy with years of practice. She had attended many a fancy business party at her father's behest, and now those trying times left her in good stead. She'd pause at the top of the stairs once again not bothering to hide her eyes peering around. She was curious of course, she always was when visiting the homes of new friends.
At least, she hoped she was visiting the home of a new friend. Even if friend wasn't the right word she had every intention of dropping by again in the future, welcome or not. She had a feeling that even if Kan got annoyed at her company Silvermon wouldn't...or at least he'd be much politer about telling her off.
"Well! I hope you do enjoy it then! Especially if you haven't drank in a while. Its suppose to quite the vintage, it came well recommended." Several of the hosts at her work had pointed her towards it, saying as they did so that buying wine while not knowing the gift-receiver's tastes was foolish. Her shoulders did sag a little when she heard Kan didn't drink, he had been the primary person in mind. Still, at least someone was enjoying the gift! She'd probably spring for the extra pricey melon next time though. Silvermon said something and it took her brain a good half-minute to catch up, relaying the interesting tidbit he had let drop again even as she attempted to confirm what she had heard.. "Wait sorry, you said they're sealed, in your sword? Are they corrupted too?"
Her eyes lit up as she looked at the sword, a thoughtful look on her face. Perhaps that partially explained how the spirits had looked like no other digimon she had encountered since. Granted, Silvermon didn't look exactly like any other mon either but at least the upright animal-person was something she had seen before. Unlike terrifying goop monster.
Her face flushed a little as he asked her if she wanted to drink with him. Should she? Could she? It had been years since she last lost control of her drinking, but at the same time she would never know if she had it under control or not if she never drank again. She took a deep breath to settle herself then smiled at him pleasantly. "Half a glass only, please. No refills either! I still have things to do tonight."
Like ask lots and lots of questions, speaking of she might as well fess up to why she was really here this evening. She had plans after all, decisions to make and things to try and figure out! Like why it hurt so much to use Isao's digivice, not that she would ever ask that outright. "Ah, I must admit I didn't come just to bring gifts. It's rude to have an ulterior motive, I know, but would you mind answering a few questions for me please?"

"Children are a little more accepting of strange things than adults are; among other things they can learn to cope much faster. It's likely the time difference between here and there making them mature much faster while their bodies age slower. I think the digital world moves at a pace seven times faster than the human one if memory serves..."
The digimon put a hand to his chin and gave it a thoughtful stroke; he wasn't exactly sure of the time dilation effects but he had heard some semblance of it from a few tamers that had taken up to meeting outside of the store from time to time. His ears however would perk and the digimon would turn slowly to look at the tamer.
"You would be the second individual that is over the age of eighteen that kan has met. I believe he shares your sentiment and would appreciate company from time to time."
He could tell that Hiroyo was curious about the store and would likely have to show her around later. It's not like he or kan would kick her out of here anyways. Company as they had just said, was hard to find. Upon her questions the digimon would shake his head.
"No, My body replaces his completely. Data for Data basically. It does reduce the amount of energy he gets from sleeping so he'll be likely sleeping for twice as long for the same amount but it's sort of a win win which he's said was acceptable before."
He could tell that she was a curious one, he just hoped she wasn't too curious. There were some very dark times in Kan's past that the digimon wanted to remain forgotten or hidden at the ver least. He'd scratch behind one of his ears and exhale softly.
"Well most human beverages and food are very vibrant. I believe I will enjoy it; if not you may be able to convince kan to drink some but I wouldn't press too hard."
The digimon went through the paces of getting everything set up, his eyes following hers when she looked at the sword. There was a soft frown and he'd sigh gently; his tail and wing's drooping just slightly.
"Yes they are sealed in my sword and they are incredibly corrupted. The only way to save them was to do that and keep them as they are. They won't be happy but up until the point of which we can do the same thing to them as kan has bequeathed to me... They will stay sealed for the safety of everyone kan knows or interacts with on both human and digital levels."
The digimon shifted a little and gently gestured to the seats that surrounded the somewhat small but quaint kitchen table. He'd go about getting the glasses almost immediately his tail wagging just a little bit.
"Of course of course, I would presume as much. A lady such as yourself must have a busy schedule."
The digimon would then shift around the kitchen a bit mumbling softly to himself about where kan had put the glasses and upon finding them frowned slightly as they were incredibly dusty. With a sigh the digimon went over to the sink, washing out one glass while shifting slightly.
" Ask away Hiroyo, I figured you'd have some questions but I wasn't sure the content of them. The gifts are certainly a nice touch to make one warm up normally."
He'd take his time washing out the glasses and would use a towel to dry the both of them off before setting them on the table. With permission he'd draw out the wine bottle and pop it open without any difficulty. The cork was easily drawn out by a slender but somewhat powerful claw. He gently would pour a half glass for each of them before putting the cork back into the wine bottle, softly but certainly the entire time to make sure that his human half would be able to open it if he desired to partake. He would gingerly tip the bottle over and set two of the counter-top fixtures next to it so it wouldn't roll before coming over to the table.
"Half glasses for the both of us, no real reason for me to... how do humans say this. Get sloshed?"

There’s a lot to contemplate on the way up the stairs, and Hiroyo muses that she maybe hasn’t expressed herself. Silvermon agrees with her that it could be the time difference but the more she thinks about what unnerves her about the kids she has seen the more she’ snot so sure.
She doesn’t have words for it so she lets the topic drop for now.
“I guess there’s just not many people our age running around in the digital world. They probably have the sense not to! I’ve met one other besides Kan.” Hiroyo’s ears went slightly red at the current topic of discussion because she had seriously the other person’s age at first! She had also misjudged another person’s age and thought them to be in the eighteen plus bracket but there was no way she was telling Silvermon that now! Especially when she could feel her face heating up just thinking about that incident.
At least Kan’s awful sleep habits gave her a quick out!
“Has he ever considered, y’know, actually sleeping though? I take naps in the digital world all the time. And I keep a decent sleep schedule too!” She said, the smugness in her voice thick enough to cut. Hiroyo might keep a crazy schedule but she at least knew to get enough sleep. Or did she? technically she had stretched her days out by several hours but was that really wise? “I mean, how does he even sleep for days straight anyways. Is he part bear? I could see it with all that hair!”
She giggled at that, her brain conjuring an image of a bad mix between Kan, a bear, and a werewolf. She managed to stifle her giggling in time to catch the explanation for Silvermon eating. She managed to grow a little more thoughtful as she followed him up the stairs. So he didn’t drink either? Well, she wouldn’t force him to. She could respect choosing to abstain.
She also didn’t have anything she could really say to comfort Silvermon about the other spirits being trapped in his sword. She did have lots of questions, but she planned to hold them for now. She settled for giving him what she hoped he realized was a sympathetic smile and then following him into the kitchen.
“Wow, this is pretty nice!” It seemed to have a better layout than the one in her apartment, and beat it for size. She was quick to take a seat at the table, unslinging her purse from around her neck and then hanging it over the back of the chair. She smoothed her dress out as she watched Silvermon putter away. A bemused expression slid onto her face.
“Heh, busy spending time with friends!” She was quick to retort. Her eyes twinkled as she said it, because despite the oddness of watching an upright wolf with wings and a sword move about a very normal kitchen she was already fond of Silvermon. Perhaps it was his manners, or maybe just the way he seemed so patient and calm with her.
Whatever it was, she was comfortable and that meant a lot.
“Well! Most of my questions are about spirits really.” She began as he walked back towards the table with the glasses. He gave him a nod as he passed the wine glass to her. She cracked a grin when he mentioned getting sloshed. “If you do get sloshed I promise to try and keep you from going outside. No promises about whether or not I’ll take pictures of you wearing a lampshade!”
Despite Hiroyo’s jovial words she seemed hesitant to take the first sip. She tried to disguise this by swirling the liquid around in her glass and then sniffing it. It smelled decently enough, but it wasn’t the main reason she was here. The glass was set down as she began to speak again, the red head acting as if she had simply forgotten to take a sip as she thought of her questions.
“I’ve met another spirit user since I’ve seen you last. Things seemed, different when he assumed his altered form though. He talked as if it was only himself, or maybe he just didn’t want to share he had voices speaking to him in his head with someone he had just met but-” She took a breath to cut herself off, realizing she had started to ramble. “Sorry. So are not all spirits distinct as you and the others seem to be? And you mentioned Kan had to purify you? Would you be willing to explain?”

"I imagine that their life eventually takes priority over the digital world; children don't have as much to worry about after all."
The spirit shrugged and continued onward, figuring that there wasn't much that he could really say about that topic other than that. After all children for the most part could freely do what they wanted, for as long as they wanted and usually with minor repercussions. They had homes to go back to and as long as it wasn't a school day... Well they would of course be fine. There was a plethora of other reasons he presumed but without knowing the ins and outs of this society he could only guess.
The spirit would tilt his head and then chuckle lightly at the mention of the idea of him actually sleeping in the digital world instead. With a soft tut the silvermon shook his head.
"It's easy to rely on the digital world for stuff like that, but Kan doesn't like abusing the time difference. He used to do it a lot back when he was younger but it started making him rely on it to fix issues. Now he uses the time he's given as well as he can in the best way he can. Sure his sleep schedule could use some work, but if he slept like a normal person half of his work wouldn't even get done!"
The spirit laughed and perked his ears, looking over to Hiroyo. There was a momentary pause and the Spirit swished his tail thoughtfully, mulling over what the human had joked about.
"I imagine it's part of him getting used to sleeping for long periods, that and I don't think he's a werewolf or something like that. Is that even possible for humans now days?"
The spirit blinked a few times at the idea of kan actually having another secret from the spirits. He severely doubted this but it would explain a few things wouldn't it? The spirit rubbed his chin and mulled over the idea before shaking his head, the spirit then gave a small bow to the human.
"Thank you, I'm sure kan would appreciate it. He works hard at keeping both his shop and home fairly clean.. and orderly. Quite a bit of his shop funds once it got going well enough went to the comfort up here. I'm not sure why he decided to have a guest room as he rarely has guests though."
There was a soft shake of the head and the digimon rested across from the human once the wine was sorted out. He'd tend to it idly, though he didn't seem to be taking large gulps like what you'd expect. The spirit after all was somewhat refined when it came to beverages anyways.
"That is fair I suppose, I appreciate you taking the time to come here. Most people wouldn't."
There was a soft bow of the spirits head and then quickly he'd give the human a somewhat perplexed look when most of the questions were about spirits. He seemed somewhat hesitant about it but after a moment he'd let a smile spread onto his face.
"Of course, being one I would assume I can answer most questions about them. Heh, I don't think anyone would see anything other than a floating lampshade if that was the case! Video's, camera's and pictures don't usually show a proper image of me or the others! Boons of strangeness I'd say."
Silvermon took note of the woman's hesitance to take a sip but he didn't bother focusing on it. There must of been a story behind why she didn't want to get into it, perhaps she might take a few sips here or there but he wasn't about to pressure her. The spirit took a moment to assess what the woman asked; or at least was saying.
"The difference between spirits for everyone is very drastic. There are some that slumber, and their powers are free for their human counterpart to use. There are some that are wild and not tamable, making it difficult to do anything other than fight. There are some that aren't as distinct as our little group, some don't have personalities, minds of their own or wills of their own. Our group of spirits could be considered an Anathema among spirits. We have our personalities, minds, wills and memories. I remember everything about my prior life as do the others; though their images are less... Clear than mine are as they are corrupt."
There was a small pause and the digimon leaned on the table with one elbow, while taking a small sip from his wine glass. He had to admit he liked the taste but he didn't want to go too crazy.
"Kan wasn't so much the one to purify me as an angel of vast power was. Let me explain first about or data corruption. Most of kan's spirits suffer from some form or another. Reapermon's data is affected by aging to the point of where the data is starting to waste away, Shattermon's is literally breaking apart at the seams. You haven't seen him but he lacks quite a lot of what he used to have. Kryptmon is suffering from some sort of warping in data and before this I was suffering from some kind of bloating that was making my data act strange. All forms of corruption of data, all forms that can be treated with the right amount of power. I was the only one out of the group we have now that we could do it to immediately. The angel then helped me seal the rest of the spirits in my sword so they wouldn't corrupt further."
There was a small pause and the Silvermon leaned slightly, staring at Hiroyo for a few moments.
"There are some humans that don't have the spirits talk to them at all by the way, some just keep to themselves and never bother to interact with their human counterparts and just give their power away willingly too. Realistically I'd like to keep my relationship with kan in a manner where I give him power and he gives me purpose; but I doubt that will be the case forever. Does all of that make sense to you? Are there more questions that you have?"
There was another pause and the Silvermon set his wine glass down, a frown on his face.
"Why the interest in spirits? You're a tamer aren't you?"

It was relaxing to listen to Silverman ramble on. It was nice out, but for some reason Kan's place was just down right cozy. It was also vaguely amusing to watch a digimon wander around in such a mundane setting while answering her questions.
The gist of what she got from his long story about his own purification was that it hadn't been Kan's work, or at least he wasn't the sole reason this version of Silvermon was sharing wine with her. "Angel, huh?" She rubbed her chin as she mused, idly wondering if a spirit user with a sufficiently similar form could cut it. She quickly decided that was probably not the case, if only because the way Silvermon said it seemed to imply something more. Still she thought she had gotten the gist of it. "So, you two can't fix the corruption of the others until you, what, find another angel? Does that mean you'll be travelling around in the Digital World more then?"
It was a shame about the other spirits' memories, and to hear of their corruption well, even Hiroyo could feel a little pity for beings that had scared her so badly upon first meeting them. Honestly though she felt the worst for Silvermon. He knew them very well, had probably known them for years and to see them so distorted... she could only imagine how hard that must be. Acting on impulse she slapped a hand flat on the table and gave him her best encouraging grin. "Hey, you'll get it! I've got faith in you, and if you ever need a hand, well, we're doing a lot better than a month ago!"
Hiroyo was legitimately enjoying the talk. She would have never known there were so many different types of spirit users before, and knowing that there could be such variety was nice even if the only thing it was really helpful for was understanding her friends more. Really she was glad she had decided to come and talk about this. "Yeah I think I'm following along pretty well. I think that about covers it as far as spirit tamers are involved."
At least she was glad until ha asked her a rather pointed question.
She had actually been taking a cautious sip of wine when he asked about her status as a tamer. Some wine slipped down the wrong tube and she choked, coughing and hacking as she carefully set the glass down and beat on her chest a couple of times. She managed to get her breath back fairly soon, and she hoped he wouldn't realize how extreme of a question that was to such a simple question!
"Sorry, you caught me off guard there! I thought I was suppose to be asking the questions!" She delicately places a hand on her chest as she talks, a sly grin spreading across her face. She picks up the wineglass again, silently pleased at the deflection as she takes a very careful sip. Even if that hasn't thrown him off her odd response completely she'll follow it up with the truth!
Not the whole thing, of course.
"When I first realized what I had in this digivice, I met a boy. I met a boy with a dragon for a friend and he fed me cake and told me about the Digital World." Her grin turns into a faint smile, remembering both the exquisite snacks and the unexpected aid she had found. It would be sweet that Ryouta had offered so much help, if he hadn't charged her an arm and a leg for it! "I wasn't on my best behavior, but he still agreed to take me there. He showed me the secret part of the subway, he even had his own private Trailmon! It wasn't his partner, more like a butler really." Her grin had brightened again. "He helped me out, in the early days before I met Roger and Morgan. I haven't seen him for a while but he took me to Andromon's and showed me around Terminus and gave me enough knowledge about tamers that I have an idea of what to expect there. I've still learned a lot since then and run into some unexpected things but...It gave me a good head start."
She sits back when she finishes talking and takes another sip. She's pleased with herself, there's enough rambling truth there to hopefully keep Silvermon off the fact that she isn't really a tamer, or wasn't originally meant to be one anyways. She's an impostor in her worst moments, and someone following out the will of a dead man at her best.
She wasn't really high-grade Tamer material here.
"So! What's your favorite place in the digi-world? Or how often do you guys go there? You sound like you're not really sure of how to cleanse the others, does that mean you just wander around a lot?" The abrupt barrage of questions would hopefully act as a good 'I don't want to talk about this' cue for Silvermon, although Hiroyo was hoping he wouldn't hit on the exact reason why. "Whitewater City is probably my favorite! The train ticket from Terminus to there can get kinda pricey so I don't go too often, but relaxing on the beach is nice."

Silvermon could feel the amusement radiate from Hiroyo, but he wasn't exactly sure what she was amused by. Perhaps it was just the setting they were in mixed with all the context leading up to this setting? He'd consider it for a few moments and only dip his head when the woman spoke inquiring about the angel.
"More specifically we need to find the angel that did this for us again when the time is right. They don't stay in one spot for a reason. We'll be traveling around the digital world again and hopefully kan won't have to do it on his own. He spent enough time alone."
The digimon shifted a little bit and swirled their drink, mulling over the implications of purifying the others. The angel had said at the right times they'd be able to do it and without much of an issue if they were prepared. Was it something to do with the spirits themselves or was it at a certain point he was working for? The digimon blinked owlishly when Hiroyo slapped her hand onto the table and gave him a grin; he returned the gesture with a small smile.
"I would imagine the both of us would appreciate your help in any way you could give. Currently my desire is to fix either Reapermon or Shattermon next. But both of them have some things that need to be found before we can do anything about it. A little treasure hunt if you will."
When the human responded to his question in such a way that made her cough and hack up the wine. The silvermon started to get out of the chair with a worried expression on his face up until the human managed to get their breath back in proper working order.
"Well.. You are, but conversations are two way streets after all. If you'd rather not talk about it..."
He'd pause and tilt his head, gingerly sipping at the drink as she started explaining out things. He didn't interrupt her little tale and the digimon found his tail wagging a bit. He enjoyed hearing other's adventures and how they came to learn about things. It was certainly a bright tale in comparison to kan's wasn't it?
He didn't know the half of the truth.
He'd rub his chin a bit and consider her tale. It made a lot of sense to him, some humans were better off simply and it seemed like this other individual had passed a bit of luck to this woman if she met roger and morgan in such a way. Her next slough of questions brought the silvermon to blinking.
"It's been a long time since I was there properly but the binary archipelago is my favorite. Depending on how work is we can end up going there daily or weekly. And yes that does mean we wander around a lot..."
The digimon paled a little bit upon hearing her favorite place was whitewater city. The last time he had been there it was still recovering from damage that had been dealt to it, had they repaired it completely?
"I can imagine it does get pricey, if you'd like to sometime I can take you there. After all I can fly and make good time too. I love the sand; which may be a bit of a surprise because of my fur..."
The digimon would chuckle a little bit and look down at his glass. Gingerly giving it a sip before mulling things over.
"Kan doesn't really enjoy the digital world in the same way as others, he's had a rough time there before. He's been a part of many things that have made it difficult for him to do things in anywhere but terminus and enjoy himself. Nothing illegal mind you, but memories are harsh things."

"Yeah!" Hiroyo was quick to respond enthusiastically to Silvermon's assurance that she and the twins would be called upon if needed. She had been worried that the disastrous first meeting at the school had completely tanked any chance of being treated as capable, strangely it was quite a relief to find out that wasn't the case! Strange, because she had only briefly met Kan and his spirits. "Even if it's just giving you guys someone to bounce ideas against it would be fun to go along! Plus a treasure hunt sounds like an excellent excuse to see more of the digital world with a friend."
She winced a little when Silvermon mentioned that conversations were two streets. Yeah, that had come off ruder than she should be with a friend. She gave him a weak smile. Yeah that, hadn't come out how she wanted at all! She did indeed want to be friends with him, and part of being a friend was being able to have conversations, even if they were difficult. Oh well, she had a story to tell!
She took a sip of her own wine after talking. All that chatting had made her quite thirsty indeed and she didn't want to make Silvermon get up just so she had something besides wine to drink. She lifted her eyebrows when he offered to fly her, him going pale had gone completely unnoticed!
"Oh, um yeah sure that'd be great! I mean, if you're sure you can carry me. I'm heavier than I look - all muscle though!" She flashed him a grin and raised her eyebrows in playful challenge. He didn't look strong enough to carry her for what she imagined would be a long flight but then again appearances could be very deceiving as she had come to learn. Especially when it applied to digimon. She listened with interest to his questions. The woman would sip at her wine while he talked, careful not to interrupt but still responding.
"Mm, I'm sorry to hear he doesn't enjoy it. I suppose I could see how it gets dangerous." She leaned back in her chair and tipped her head over the back in a way that exposed her neck. Hookmon was still fresh in her mind, and now too was the throw down with Gesomon at the beach. She gave the ceiling a small, tight smile. Who was she to be promising help when she and the twins couldn't digivolve to Adult properly?
She promised herself to visit Andromon's shop the next time she was in the Digital World, it was time she stopped running away from what he had to say.
Hiroyo sat back up to the table and grinned at her host. "Sorry about that! I get a little weird when I've been drinking!" Although she really was not at that point yet. "But yeah, it's a shame he doesn't have good memories. I've had a lot of fun over there! I'd ask why but..." She trailed off with a shrug of one shoulder as she picked up her wineglass and swished the much smaller amount around. "That would be pretty rude, especially if he can't answer for himself. If you don't mind my asking...is it something I should ask him? Or maybe I should stay away from it?"
She would take another sip while he answered. Her glass was quickly emptying and despite herself Hiroyo found her eyes sliding every so often to the bottle as if hoping for it to magically lift itself up and refill her glass on its own.
"Ah, by the way...about what I said earlier. I really didn't mean for what I said about questions to come out that way! I want to have a good relationship with the two of you, and the others when they get better as well I guess! Feel free to ask away!"

The spirit chuckled softly at the reaction that Hiroyo gave them; they seemed a tad more enthusiastic about his assurances that they would be called upon. AS much as he'd like to say that they would be called without a doubt... Well. Ultimately it was left up to kan's decision but the spirit would make sure to talk to him about it. He needed to branch out more anyways. Being just a dusty shopkeep wasn't going to do him any favors.
"I appreciate it Hiroyo. It's been a long time since we could rely on anyone for anything. Even if it's just a little."
The wince was met with a soft quirk of the brow and he'd give her a small smile. He hadn't really intended to come off as harsh as he had; but that was niether here nor there. The digimon noted that this would probably be the first time that she had actually taken a sip from the cup. She must of had trouble in the past with this sort of thing; or perhaps she had a bad experience once. It wasn't in his place to ask her this; that would be something he felt would be somewhat impolite.
"I do believe I could carry you, muscle or not. I may not look like most ultimate tier spirits or digimon but strength is not something I lack. One way or another."
Was this some sort of bait for him to take? Was it her just teasing him? He didn't seem to mind the idea either way. The digimon took another sip of his own wine, enjoying the taste as it washed against his tongue and went down the back of his throat. When it came to alcoholic beverages he wasn't like humans, his tolerance naturally was a bit higher sure but... It didn't exactly take a huge amount for him to get tipsy. A tipsy spirit at ultimate power would be a problem, so he had to spread this sort of thing out.
"Been a long time since he's had anyone actually. Most of the people he interacts with like I said earlier are all younger. Much younger than him. He just hit thirty a few months ago after all."
The spirit flicked an ear and stared at Hiroyo as she apologized. The Digimon chuckled softly and waved a hand; as though saying it was all right. The spirit sat there for a moment as she continued to talk. Then there came questions. There came problems with them; kan would never answer her. He'd rather hide behind the sorrow and pain from a failing not entirely his.
"He. Has good memories. But they're so far, few and in between that they're overwhelmed by the sheer amount of negative ones. It's... Not something he talks about. Not to anyone, not even his spirits. It's a topic he avoids out of the deep pain that has seated itself about that place. Even while drunk I doubt he'd share anything... But it's something you can't just simply stay away from. So with that..."
The spirit's expression grew somewhat cold; he could still remember Kan panicking over the entire thing about luminas. How he had balked near the end about the plan actually going through. It had changed him as a person; it had made him more thoughtful. More gentle, more paced out. It had driven him to desire some kind of change but he lacked the power how.
"Hiroyo. What do you know about Luminas?"
The spirit's question was heavy, far heavier than it should of. And the expression on the spirit's face wasn't something that would normally be expected from what was such a chipper person it seemed. His expression stayed just about the same for a short time, the wine gently swirling in the glass that he had.
"It's all right Hiroyo. I'd rather have the questions come out rather than not at all... As for having a good relationship. That simply comes from time. We've met just twice if you think about it. As for kan, he's slow to trust. Slow to work with people in such the manner you expect. But."
The spirit tapped his finger on the table and slowly gave the woman a smile.
"I can tell, that one such as this would benefit the both of you. I suppose a question I can ask... Is: What Does the digital world and digimon mean to you? You're much newer at this than Kan is, but that doesn't mean he's any more of a person than you are."
The spirit then bit it's lower lip and took a small drink from the wine glass, finishing off the contents as there wasn't much left at this point.
"Why do you think that when we first met that we went out of our way to help you?"

The red head gave the wolf-man a wide grin when he mentioned carrying her and waggled her eyebrows at him suggestively. She seemed quite smug at having drawn him into this particular line of conversation. "Oh oh, I hope you know how to do princess carries or piggyback rides! I only accept those after all. If you try to do it like a fireman I can guarantee it'll end poorly!~"
She shuddered as Silvermon mentioned the overwhelming number of youths in the digital world as if the fact there were so many was something that distressed her. "It's so ridiculous! It's like the digital world purposely picks those that don't have even a chance of dealing with it except by luck." She grumbled. It was a bit hypocritical of her, really she had only barely fared better than some of those youngsters had! "But, then again they say kids are resilient. So maybe that's why? They can adapt better than adults do?"
She was quiet while the spirit spoke of Kan's memories, her face falling to a thoughtful frown. Maybe it should not have surprised her that Kan had an unhappy history in the digital world. While it was true that most of her adventures there had been light hearted in nature it didn't mean that world was any less of a dangerous place.
"Luminas?" Her eyebrows bunched together in confusion. "Ah, nothing really? I mean I've heard it mentioned but I've never asked about it? Whenever someone mentions it while the twins are around Roger tends to snort and make sarcastic comments but that's kind of his default way of interacting with people he doesn't know when he's not trying to get something." She shrugged helplessly then fetched the bottle of wine to refill her glass.
"Mm, what do they mean to me?" She repeated slowly as if savoring the question the way people who weren't her would have been savoring the wine they were having. It was a complicated question, and one she didn't know if she could answer in just a few words. She sipped from her glass as she let the quiet settle in anticipation of her answer. In the abstract it was too confusing for her to think of, but then the image of the bug brothers swam into her mind and she knew she had her starting point.
"I guess, because of some things to me the twins are an obligation. I like them - most of the time - but they're not what I would have picked for myself? I don't like standing on the sidelines having to depend on other people putting their lives at risk to defend mine. I mean, quite a few times it's been Roger's fault that we even have to take those steps but still!" She paused to take a large determined gulp of her wine before she considered because that was maybe saying more than she wanted to say. Still she had the second pat of the question to answer.
"As for the digital world itself it is complicated. It's fun! Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy spending time there but I know it can be dangerous too. Digimon are great! They're people just like humans but, no offense, they're not humans. And I know humans can be violent and kill things but sometimes digimon, and even partnered digimon or spirit users too, can be really...casual about killing things."
She folded her arms on the table in font of her and dropped her face into them with a frustrated groan. "I don't know. I don't want to stop going there because I enjoy it but I also wish I didn't have to feel so paranoid every time I did. Like, if I could protect myself it'd be better I think."

Silvermon blinked a few times at the wide grin and the odd waggling of the eyebrows. He gave her a somewhat uncertain look as to what she might of been thinking of him and the wolf digimon had to visibly pause to consider the line conversation. Was he... Oh. He certainly was. There was a noticeable but soft tint of flush to his cheeks that he tried to hide behind the fact he was pouring himself another glass.
"I mean I do know how to do either one of those carries. The princess carry is what... somewhat similar to what you humans call 'bridal' style or something? Fireman? What type of carry is that?"
The digital spirit looked somewhat frustrated at the next part and only shook his head a little bit. Quickly putting the top onto the wine bottle; after all Hiroyo had said she didn't want to drink more than this one glass right?
"It is frustrating yes. I wish that it would consider them more than anything but I suppose that isn't really the case. The best thing Kan or yourself can do is offer support to those that need it. I would say that is a prime reason though. Adaptability isn't a trait all adults share."
The spirit snorted softly and scratched at his ear; swirling the wine and gazing up at the human. The tints of that blush somewhat faint at this point. Though he had to admit that he was glad they were moving through to more serious points. He wasn't sure how to really respond to someone like that. He looked somewhat surprised to see her reaching for the wine glass; he was quick to uncork it and hand it to her.
"It's a place where angels and their ilk congregate. They are a militaristic and religious community much like how your system with the pope is in place. Though rather than just one leader it's quite a few of them."
A soft sigh and the spirit closed his eyes, hoping that kan would forgive him for bringing this up. But this woman didn't strike him as the sort to back away from this sort of information nor did she seem like the sort that wouldn't stare this thing straight in the face.
"Kan was much younger than he is now, much much younger and much more foolish. He was brought into a group known as Vexus and well... Their entire existence revolved around bringing down Luminas. Kan agreed to be a part of it and even agreed to help attack it. But in the end he as you humans would say 'chickened out'. But that doesn't change the fact he's a wanted man there as he went albeit to late to go warn them about this attack."
The spirit sighed softly and tapped his finger on the table.
"He's done quite a few things that aren't particularly nice; his path was quite a twisted one until we met that angel willing to purge one of us of our data's corruption. Hell he's even turned away the organizations he usually works for once or twice since then."
The spirit took a small drink from his glass; feeling the warmth that the wine brought him just a little more.
"That's the problem with being a tamer I suppose; always having to stand on the sidelines. Kan used to be one so he knows the struggles of the tamers much better than most spirit users do. There are ways for you to help, biomerge, cards... some tools or trinkets. The latter most is rare though..."
The large determined gulp brought a small bit of blinking from the spirit and he'd idly swirl his glass. She did seem to enjoy the wine too right? The spirit tilted his head a little bit and flicked his ears forward.
"That's the sad truth isn't it? Digimon culture is far more used to death coming and going. It's rare for a digimon to stay truly dead and I must say most digimon are drunk on that sort of power. It'd make sense for humans to eventually sort of get used to it to. But it takes a digimon to put that sort of issue to perspective for a human. I don't like doing it myself; used to.. back when I was less a person and more a rabid dog."
There was a soft snort and the silvermon stared at the human when they put their head on her arms. The digimon would look at his hand and then reach forward to gently if not a supportive pat the human on the head. It was maybe one or two odd pats before he'd pull his hand back.
"I would be more than willing to assist you the best I could. Perhaps even work with you to help cull that feeling? There's plenty of things that could fix that, ranging from training of sorts. Equipment.. maybe even talking to your twins to help get rid of that feeling? You could even ask kan when he wakes up, he might have some better advice than me..."
There was a distinct pause and the spirit chuckled.
"It's a pity you're not a spirit user, you'd fit right in with them with that line of thinking."

A very visible cringe twisted Hiroyo's frame at the explanation of Kan's younger years. "That, uh, sounds rather excessively violent for dealing with Catholics." She said. She was glad she decided to refill her wineglass now. This information, while informative, was a bit hard to digest! "I mean...if that group was honestly planning to crash a floating city I can't really say I'm surprised he's wanted." She paused deliberately, her mouth twisting into a frown and her forehead wrinkling. It was obvious she was concerned about what she had learned.
With a sigh she leaned back in her chair and took another sip of wine. Originally she would have thought Silvermon meant activities like drinking excessively or some minor theft, now she had to consider the fact that Kan's previous 'not particularly nice' things were potentially rather messy. Still, he had helped her and the twins when he didn't need to previously. She phrased her thoughts carefully. "You would know better than me...do you think he's changed? From that I mean? Do you think he's honestly trying to be, well, better?"
Beyond that rather weighty topic Hiroyo was pleased to have someone she could vent to about her frustrations! The fact that the spirit didn't just say something along the lines of 'that's the only role you can play' just made her more sure that this conversation was a good choice. She herself had tried to console other, newer tamers with those words but they had felt hollow since she didn't really believe it herself.
"I'm glad to hear there are ways I can help! Let me guess though, they work off the digivice, right? It's something I'd have to go to Terminus Mall and talk to Andromon about." She punctuated her words with a heavy sigh, like a child who had just predicted they were about to be told to go clean their room. Her reluctance to talk to that particular shop keep was obvious on her face. Maybe she had had a bad run in with the shop keeper? Whatever it was, her focusing on that meant she hadn't picked up on a rather juicy tidbit, at least not right away. "I need to go there for other reasons...but I still don't feel like doing it."
"I'm in better shape than the average person out on the streets." She gestured towards a window as she spoke, a wry smile on her face. "I know I can handle a Rookie in one-on-one grappling if I get lucky and they don't use their moves. But once you start bringing abilities in to the equation, I'm toast. I don't really have any fighting experience either, so while I understand I should rely on my head instead, it isn't like I have any idea about what to do."
She was drinking from her wineglass when he mentioned talking to the twins, poor timing for the bark of laughter that was sent bubbling into the liquid. Luckily this time she was quick enough to avoid trying to inhale any of the liquid. Her voice was bitter whens he spoke, her eyes drifting away from Silvemon's face. "I doubt talking to them about it would bring about any useful results. We can't keep from squabbling within ten minutes of meeting a new person!"
She brought her hand up to rub at the bridge of her nose, giving him an apologetic smile. "Sorry, I know you're trying to help, but that option I think is rather ah, useless."
The wineglass was brought to her lips for another sip when the spirit chuckled and an answering smile crossed her own lips at his comment. "Is it possible to trade the digivice in?" She joked, then paused as a thoughtful look appeared. "Actually no, knowing my luck I'd end up with Roger and Morgan inside my head and I really don't want that!" At least her mood seemed to have lifted!
Hiroyo was quite content to chatter about subjects both banal and serious while sipping wine, and she would happily continue for hours with the spirit as company. At least until he kicked her out or he was replaced by someone else.
