My first thread (Open) (Neighborhood Setting)

"I'll tell you as much as I know, and that sure as shit ain't much." The girl looked to her left and right. There were people around still. She mulled it over. Could she talk here? They probably would think that they were just talking about some video game or cartoon show or... something. Nonetheless, it was a risk. Less of a risk than leaving this guy in the dark, but, a risk just the same. "We gotta get outta earshot. This way." She gestured Adrian to follow, leading him to her back garden.

"You'd best sit down for this. Fuck, how do I even explain it? Right. Well that dragon thing? It's called a digimon. There's like.. a species name for it, but, I got no idea. I got thrown into this like a week ago, I ain't sure what's going on yet. They come from a "digital world" or something. I've actually been there, where I found my "partner." she quickly looked around. Parents were still out. Dad was at work, mum was at the supermarket if memory served. Should still be a bit. "Eh, should be safe enough. Derrick!"

At her call, a strange creature came bounding on over. It was almost "blob" like, the bottom half of it white, the top, covered with orange fur with a large grey horn protruding from it, its orange red eyes glancing up to the girl before looking Adrian up and down.

"Who's he?"

"Just a friend bud." She said, as she ruffled the thing's hair. Someone who got caught up in this just like I did. Y'want more proof? Little button on that thing. Right below the screen. Press it."

If Adrian did so? The screen would instantly light up, an electronic voice sounding after a brief period of loading up, the display showing first a picture of Adrian himself, then, a quick sequence. Apparently confirming his identity and syncing up.



"PARTNER SYNCED. DNA SEQUENCE CONFIRMED. TAMER RECOGNISED. WELCOME, ADRIAN BORIKER."



"Did the same thing for me, 'cept you got it a whole lot easier. I was thrown into their world."

The girl held back the temptation to just slap him. Might get him to shut up at least! Quite a few of Adrian's questions came back with simply "I have no idea". Haley herself was extremely new to all this too. "Okay, fuck's sake man! Take a breath and keep your voice down! Right. No, I have no idea how any of it works, no idea how no one has found it out, probably 'cos only very few are selected and they keep their fucking mouths shut, yes, there are a whole shittonne more of these things, no I have no idea how I got there in the first place I just god damn woke up there one day, I don't know if you become data, and they sure as shit feel real! I don't know!"

"Haley, follow your own advice. Slow down. Take a breath. Last thing we need is both of you shouting up a storm."

"Fu-! Gah. Fine. Fine, you're right. Look man, I don't know all this. I literally only found out about it last week. I'm pretty much as lost as you are. "
