Haru was mildly impressed at the doctor's knowledge, but then again maybe that wasn't that surprising? They DID have a license after all... "I guess that might make sense. I'm still not familiar with all the families, so my info may be a lil' loose. Back then, my Digivice told me Tawna's Meicrackmon Vicious Mode form is a Nightmare Soldiers and Dark Area Digimon, but I don't think I've ever scanned her as just a Meicoomon. I am just kinda going off that Nightmare Soldiers and Dark Area are like vicious, monstrous, or demonic Digimon." she ended up commenting, admitting that she probably was just assuming things. "How much do you know about her species actually? Now you got me kinda curious... Maybe it'd help me kinda understand her a little better... Like, what's the whole Vicious Mode thing about?"
Language was in general a pretty complicated subject, so in a way Haru wasn't even surprised that Digimon had trouble with it too in a way. "So it's like, you hear everything fine... and speak everything fine... but writing is where it stops being comprensible? Maaaan, that's bizarre. Alien even. I guess that's just yet another thing separating humans and Digimon, even if we do have a bunch of things in common with eachother." the girl mused over the topic, wondering idly to herself just how far this omni-linguist trait of Digimon could be pushed. "You think humans could learn Digimoji too? I mean, it's just another language... right? In a way, coding or programming is a language too, so it could be possible."
Tawna lightly shrugged at the conversation, having mild difficulty following along. "How does one go about even learning a language, at least for humans? I've never thought about learning how to read another language personally, but I also basically have only cared about fighting up until I joined Haru... so pardon my lack of social experience." she spoke in between attempting to grasp noodles with the chopsticks, fighting the urge to just eat with her hands.
Haru smiled slightly at Tawna, admittingly a bit proud of the feline for actually making an effort to talk. It was a stark contrast from how they normally acted back then, which Haru took as a personal accomplisment on her part as well. "You're making leaps and bounds Tawna, you're are doing fine. Honestly, I imagine it's just a lot of hard work and perseverance... That or I guess downloading that info. Then again, if it were that easy, every Digimon would be doing it."
Personal question time. Haru actually was caught off-guard, a light blush on her cheeks. That... was admittingly a bit of an embarassing one, but it was an easy question nonetheless. She took the helmet off, allowing her long, black hair to finally be given some fresh air (it fraying slightly). "Okay, this maybe a bit silly... I feel there's like a sorta stereotype in Japanese anime with protagonists that a lot of heroic types wear goggles. I guess just, since I was a lil' girl I've kinda wanted to emulate that kinda image as a person. That and I think it looks cool." she ended up explaining briefly, a bit of a dorky smile on her face. "I guess just, being in the Digital World has kinda sparked my adventurous side. Its a kinda chance for me to really... try to be someone better than I was."
The girl's mood seemed to drop slightly, she placing her half-empty bowl of ramen back on the coffee table briefly. "... I guess I just wasn't exactly the best person a couple years ago."

Right, Mikemon didn't expect Haru to be an expert in Digimon lineage. Her curiosity was something the Doctor could appreciate though: even though the Digivice told the tamer that she was a 'Nightmare Soldier' and 'Dark Area' Digimon, the story just wasn't that simple! "Well, Digimon can have quite varied forms from start to finish. What might start as a Holy Warrior might end up as a Nightmare Soldier in its later forms, for example. In certain senses, looking at such traits is near-useless when trying to determine one of our origins." His ear gave a twitch: how much did he know about the Meicoomon species?
"Well... their forms are pretty susceptible to outside forces. The form they end up in reflects a lot on their temperament and personality, which really just makes Vicious Mode an unfortunate name for this subspecies. Its more a reflection on their attack power and battle stance." Again, with a Meicrackmon in the room it was a bit awkward to say, but Tawna hadn't whacked him yet. Maybe she was a bit curious herself?
"Heh. From our perspective its strange that it doesn't work that way on your end." Turning her words around, the feline enjoyed a slight chuckle. "And, sure, its quite possible for a human to learn our language. A few have managed to understand our written word, but there hasn't really been a demand for humans to learn how to speak it, because... well, no need?" They were conversing fine right now, right? Tawna's question added a bit more weight to this, though at downloading the data, the cat just laughed. "Oh, I wish it were that easy."
And yes, personal question time. Why the goggles? Apparently the Mikemon had managed to hit a bit of a personal note. Blinking as the helmet came off, the cat gave a listen. What it really boiled down to in the end was 'it looks cool', though it was clear there was more weight than that. A sense of child-like wonder, a feeling of wanting to be a hero? Feeling the mood drop, the cat returned a small smile.
"... Heh. It's a pretty good reason," the cat concluded. "Now, if you were going to start running around in a cape and a superhero outfit, I might raise more of an eyebrow. But its as you said - its what you are now, not what you were, right?"
It was a nice thought, one punctuated by a sudden alert coming up from the news. Now, wait, what was this? The Mikemon's ears perked up as the reporter started to speak: "... Hm. Mass network slowdown centralized over... 'Tokyo', whatever that is? Why would this be airing in Shibuya, then..." Ugh, it was hard to tell if this had to do with something in the Digital World, or some two-bit hacker on the human side. Fake-outs definitely happened on both ends of these sorts of things. "You know if this is a recent thing or not?"

Haru while understood that Digimon could be very erratic with how they could Digivolve, guess maybe it wasn't even that important to think about all things considered. Still, it was interesting to say the least think about how drastic they could change. "So like for instance, an angelic Digimon could fall to become a demonic Digimon?"
Tawna seemed to... actually visibly wince with that sentence, though Haru didn't notice.
Nonetheless, Dr. Mikemon did offer a good bit of insight relating to perhaps why Tawna's form was like this. Haru's mind did wander for a bit however about the comment about Meicoomon being susceptible to outside forces. Her expression turned to that of mild worry. [b"... So, does that imply that I might have not been helping Tawna enough? If I helped raise her differently, maybe she'd have not defaulted into into Vicious Mode?"[/b] she asked, a mild bit of self-doubt on her face.
Tawna was not normally the type to respond to things quickly, she generally a very passive individual... but this was different. The Meicrackmon's face turned stern as she forcefully grabbed the girl's hand (remembering that seemed to be a display of affection among humans, or at least that was how it was supposed to be). "It's nothing you did Haru. This is who I am." she spoke with a stern, but almost solemn look on the Ultimate level's face. Seeing the girl unhappy in any shape or form bothered her immensely.
Despite her initial doubts, Haru managed to recover emotionally as she took a deep breath, shaking off the bad vibes she was getting. She was being too moody right now, worrying over nothing. "Sorry, I think I'm just making an ass out of myself assuming all of this stuff. It's not healthy to be so pessimistic." she spoke, smiling lightly as she glanced at Tawna, then back to Mikemon. "I'm sorry, I was jumping to bad conclusions. I'm kinda bad at that."
The girl let out a bit of a childish giggle at the doctor's comment about superhero escapades. "Heh, I wouldn't go that far. Still probably a bit of a dork though, but I like to think everyone is a dork in their own weird way." she responded, placing
News alert huh? Fortunate that it seemed to just some internet slowdown, though she could imagine why someone like the doctor would be intrigued about that. Something like that probably meant something very different to a Digimon compared to the average Joe or Jill, who'd be complaining why their internet is so slow. "Oh yeah... I feel it's happening for months now though, so it's probably nothing new. Its just kinda something that happens on and off..." she casually responded, though paused briefly as a thought occurred to her. What if these weren't just some random network issues? "Do you think it's something to do with Digimon or the Digital World? I mean... The Digital World is connected to like the internet, right?"

Well, Haru basically got it right? "Well, 'fall' is a harsh term, though that can certainly happen. The form can either be 'gained' or it could have been their natural line to begin with. The details are where it gets a little muddy." The wince was missed by the Doctor, but the next point wasn't:
Had Haru not been helping Tawna enough? Hearing the worried tone, the Mikemon tilted his head. "Who said her having Vicious Mode was a bad thing? Besides-" Nope, Tawna would handle the rest of it. Moving a bit out of the way as she reached over, the Doctor blinked at the jarring sight of a much taller, strong, violent-looking ultimate attempting to offer condolences to her tamer.
Indeed, Haru was jumping to conclusions - the Doctor wasn't going to argue with that. "Heh, its alright. You're still learning all this, after all. So am I." Ah, the continuous pursuit of knowledge - wasn't that why the two of them had joined this club, at least? Giving another sip of his ramen, he gave a chuckle back to Haru. "Heh, we all have something, that's for sure."
As the news alert played, though, the tone of the room took a more inquisitive feel. The reporters spoke of a maintained period where the network had been slowed down or stopped at least once every three days. It had only been for an hour or two at a time, but the economic effects were starting to be discussed on the air. "A few months, huh?" The cat rested his chin against a palm, mulling the thought over. Yup, Haru picked up on it pretty quick:
"Its one of the ways our world affects yours, yes, and definitely the most common. Its definitely possible that increased activity in the Digital World is making a difference on this end... and 'for a few months', that ties in to about when the Spire incidents would have started. Well, maybe not, I may be screwing up the time conversion." He sighed, shaking his head. "Its impossible to say for sure. Have they found any leads on it for a human culprit, or just a plain network malfunction?"

Despite her earlier conclusions just now, Haru appeared to settle down for the most part, no longer quite as doubtful of herself with the two reassuring her everything was fine. Perhaps it really was? Haru was not one to hide that she didn't always know everything there was to know after all. She smiled warmly, her cheery mood returning somewhat. "Heh, guess that's true. Its healthy to understand that no one knows everything." she ended up commenting, a bit of her standard pluckiness coming back to her voice.
Honestly, Mikemon brought up some interesting points regarding to the relationship of both the human world and Digital World, it more evident than just the Digital World's in humans like herself. She stared at the television program, realizing just how odd the news would be if the Digital World's presence was more known. The impacts of this virtual world would have been far more noticeable than she felt.
"It's weird to think how our worlds are so different, yet also connected. Whether we like it or not, both worlds affect the other in ways that probably aren't even evident at first. I'd hope that if these incidents increase, humans don't start getting panicky. Thats... one thing we are really good at." Haru mused as she went back to slurping her noodles, attempting to catch up with the information being put out. She wasn't one to usually actively look up news, she mainly hears about topics through social osmosis. "Definitely don't think they've nailed a culprit to this... which I guess is a good thing. I... I don't think this world is ready to face Digimon. Yet."
Tawna herself merely shrugged at the topic overall, even if she did share the view that humans were not ready. Frankly, the bits and pieces she has seen of human society is that they tended to overreact when things grow awry. "That implies they will be ever really ready." the Meicrackmon calmly stated, managing to finish up her own bowl.
As soon as bowls were done, Haru would pick them up and drop them off into the sink back in the kitchen while making a mental note to clean them up before bed. With that she turned back to face the doctor. "Well, I admit the other room kinda just has a blow-up mattress, but it's roomy. You're free to tear up the place though to fit more your liking at least! Oh, and uh... don't mind the patched up hole in the wall. Tawna gets... excited when she sees vermin." she briefly explained, yawning slightly. The day has been definitely on the exhausting side, so she was looking foward to head off soon. She had work tomorrow for the afternoon (yet one of the many responsibilities she still needed to uphold).

The ways the two worlds affected each-other was definitely more 'abstract' than one would think - well, other than the fact that the Digital Monsters could already enter the real world from the gate. The cat's ear gave a flick at Haru's comment. He first gave a smirk, and then a sigh: "Honestly, I'd like to believe that the connection between our worlds does more harm than good - though trust me, mass panic isn't something that's just unique to your world. I'm still waiting for the other foot to drop on the Spire news." Giving another sip from his own bowl, the feline gave a shrug at Haru's comment. "Hm. I'll have a look at what the timeline is like and see if it matches up with anything from the Digital World when I get back. If its something 'benign' enough, we might have our first trip as a research group."
Wouldn't that be nice? Though, as Tawna gave that slide 'swipe' at human society, the cat couldn't help but give a chuckle. He didn't add more or less than that, as he soon set his own bowl aside, finishing up just a few minutes after the MeiCrackmon. He gave a step towards the kitchen, only for Haru to clear the bowl in front of him. Just as well - it wasn't as if the cat could reach the counter without jumping up on it!
"A whole room to myself? That's more than I could expect-" As Haru explained the room, it took the Mikemon a moment to absorb the details. But then it hit him: a blow-up mattress.
An inflatable, blow-up mattress. The Mikemon blinked once, then twice, his ears falling flat behind his head, as he looked down to the very sharp claws on the tips of his gloves. "... I'll, um. Just pull the sheets and use a pillow, I think." Sure, he could sit on the bed while awake without ever coming close to popping it, but one bad roll in his sleep and the pop would ring through the whole apartment!

It was honestly a bit sad to hear from Dr. Mikemon that he saw the two worlds' interactions negatively. The Digital World has brought to Haru a lot of wonderful experiences, along with the chance to meet countless new people... but at the same time, she saw how the impact both worlds potentially had on one another could be bad. "Sad, but I understand. All we can do I suppose is try our best to preserve the balance of both worlds, even if its just in the littlest ways possible." she commented, knowing that even though there were a lot of physical differences between humans and Digimon, deep down they had a lot to relate. It's just one tended to have the habit of turning into magical slash metal death monsters.
It did actually take a moment for the girl to understand what the Champion level meant, realizing the whole puncturing hazard that they sorta had. She had to occasionally remind herself that while Digimon were just like any regular person, they did kinda have their own features that hampered what humans could or could not do. Claws were definitely probably not too safe to have around an inflatable bed... Why would he be different from "Miss Claws Cat with a Stinger"? Regardless, she realized that maybe a different arrangement was in order. "Ohh... sorry. I could see about moving the sofa in there if that's more comfortable?"
Tawna just offered a yawn in regards to the conversation (giving a good look at the maw of razor-sharp teeth the manticore-like Digimon had). "Just do what I do. I sleep under Haru's bed." she ended up adding in, though not before quickly correcting herself. "But don't do that. No offense, but that's my my spot." she stated, putting a lot of emphasis in regards to her own personal space.
Haru looked at Dr. Mikemon silently, though her face more or less accurately described her personal thoughts in regards to Tawna's choice of sleeping spot. It was just something that Haru has since had to get used to... Tawna tended to get cranky otherwise.

Well, shoot, that was rare. Seeing Haru's saddened expression and the tone in her voice simply returned a confused look from the Doctor - had he said something wrong, something off? "Um... what's sad? I don't think I-" Oh, shoot, had he? The cat planted his face in his paw, shaking his head. "Sorry, sorry: 'more good than not' is what I meant to say." A bit of it was old prejudice, but mostly it was just the fact that it was a common term he'd said in medical practice, that made it slip out in place of something else. "Sorry about that. Guess it's been a long day for both of us, huh?"
Well, that bit of awkwardness aside (the cat taking a moment to clear his throat, trying to force the moment to pass), the topic moved onto Mikemon's accommodations. Indeed, the inflatable mattress was a concern to both of them, though to think she'd offer to move the whole sofa into the room? "Honestly, there's no need for that. Its not like I take up a lot of space, so it shouldn't be hard for me to throw together something 'comfortable enough' to work with." That was more unfortunate wording, but it was really the best he could do. Barring moving the couch, the alternative would be sleeping out here in the common room, forced to wake up any time someone else had to make use of the couch or the kitchen.
He was a cat, darn it! At Tawna's yawn and comment, though, the cat's ear gave a flick. Sleep under the bed? "... Um... don't worry, that spot's all yours." Even without the qualification, the entire concept just sounded suffocating to him. Actually, he wondered how Haru managed to sleep at all, if that were the case. "I'll just take a look at the room, and see if I need anything else to get the sleeping situation settled. Sound good, Haru?"

Haru actually was struck by a mild case of embarrassment, partially due to for a moment thinking she had misheard what the feline said. Maybe her pessimist side was just showing tonight...? "Yeah, I guess it's just getting late... We all probably could use some sleep now..." she awkwardly chuckled, rubbing the back of her head. Maybe things with both worlds' relationship were better than she thought? She'd like to hope so at least.
Well, it was at least a good thing Dr. Mikemon was at least flexible with sleeping arrangements. Guess it made sense that for someone as short as him, he'd not need nearly as much room as a regular human... or Tawna now. "Well... if you ever got suggestions or need help with something, I'd be glad to help! That's what friends are for right?" she happily responded, making sure the offer was out there. Her mother taught her well in being courteous to houseguests after all.
Nonetheless, it seemed accommodations were in order for their new houseguest. Tawna was for the most part content with the arrangements set up, due to not really detracting from her or Haru's lifestyles. She was still questioning the validity of this Digital Field Club, but not enough to be too in-depth thinking about it. The feline went onto all fours as they and their orbital minions strut towards Haru's room while her tamer was making sure Mikemon was well.
Haru let out a bit of sleepy yawn as she nodded at Mikemon, heading towards the kitchen with the intent of washing their dinners' bowls. "Well, I guess that's it really... I got work in the mornin', so I'll be leaving way early. I'll leave the door unlocked though if you'd like. It's not like anyone will actually try and rob the place... or if they do, they're gonna have to answer to Tawna... or you if you are around." she ended up mentioning as she soaped up and cleaned the bowls with warm water. It wouldn't take long though before she soon was done and dishes put away. With that, she began to turn off the lights to the apartment, giving Mikemon one last look before heading off to her room. "Night!" she spoke before shutting her door.
Well... this ended up being an interesting night, to say the least. How will things develop with time she wondered? What was in store for the club? Well... time was the only way to tell now.

Oh, no, the cat was the one who messed up here! But a lack of sleep is something that could be appreciated in both worlds, and Haru was kind enough to accommodate the cat as it was! Giving a brief glance over as Tawna headed off - presumably to likely retire for the night - the Mikemon returned a nod towards Haru.
"The same to you, Haru: I'll help out how I can, even if its just keeping the place a bit more tidy." He tried not to remark on the mess too much, but it was hard to ignore when his left foot was stepping on the third pair of jeans strewn about the ground. Still, the Mikemon was useful enough to keep around the team, regardless: a Doctor could definitely come in handy out on their research escapades!
Soon enough, the tamer started to wash up the bowls of their late night dinner, the Mikemon shutting off the TV as she moved to do so. "Sounds good, I'll be sure to keep my head down if I do head out. If this becomes a regular thing, I'll see if I can get the costs covered to duplicate the key..." Thoughts for another time, though! With the dishes down and with Haru heading off to bed, the Mikemon returned a wave, heading off to his own room. "Night, yourself!"
Well, all he had to do now was make a bed for himself...
