Luke seemed okay with the walk, but fortunately SkullSatamon agreed with Isaac. Who could blame the kid, really? Getting MetalGreymon would bring him one step closer towards getting his body back, and he was honestly kind of antsy to finally put an end to this continued torment. Oh yeah! There's, like, no shortage of holes in the floor and catwalks for us to jump down, he thought. Nice thinking, SkullSatamon!
"That zzzzzzzzeemzzzzzzzzz very dangerouzzzzzzzzz," Kokuwamon protested. "Are you zzzzzzzure you zzzzzzzzhould do thizzzzzzz?"
"Hey, relax. We're professionals," SkullSatamon said, beaming confidently. "Well, we're going now. Stay in school!" With that said, he bolted out with Luke, the Geiger Counter in one hand and his staff proudly held in the other. There would be no more awkward conversations here, at least.
With that said, it was time for the Dark Wing Express to take off. SkullSatamon promptly snatched his tamer (half-tamer?) up, wrapping an arm around him and diving off of the catwalk. After a brief bit of very enjoyable skydiving, he flared his wings out and began gently drifting to the ground. The orb of his staff began to glow a brilliant gold, illuminating the near pitch-black room that he had just landed in.
The basement was covered in dust, with a small infestation of MetalKoromon taking turns nibbling at a freshly sparking outlet. It presumably saw way less foot traffic than the other rooms of this facility, and the only sign that Iko and SkullSatamon hadn't just jumped into a random hole was the series of red lights lining the hallway out of this room. They were few and far between, more small points of light in the darkness than anything. Isaac could already feel a slight pull in his core, and he guided SkullSatamon's head towards the lights.
Down that hall. It's gotta be there, Isaac thought. Especially if there's a door at the end of the hall that says "Do Not Touch."

Dangerous, huh? All Luke did to that was simply nod with the SkullSatamon's point. "Compared to braving Whitewater's cliffs on our bare feet, this is nothing. I wish you luck getting everything back in order, Kokuwamon."
With that, the two would make their descent - far down into the depths of the facility. Unlike the more active 'factory' lines, there was little that the group could disturb, save a few live electrical lines that Luke was careful to pout out. More often then not, though, they were already swarmed with a fair amount of clicking MetalKoromon. They're all like insects down here. Harmless alone, but in great numbers they've been known to cause mechanical Digimon problems, even up to Ultimate.
Regardless, it didn't take them long to hit the ground floor, Luke gently touching down on both feet. "Mm? I feel... yes, its this way!" Feeling Isaac's intuition as his own, the SkullSatamon led on ahead...
... And Iko interrupted. Skull, real quick? This is Isaac's spirit - go ahead and give him the helm for a while. You can go ahead and tag back in if there's any laser gates - but there's no reason to show a false face.
"Bah, fine, fine." To Luke, the skeleton was apparently talking to no-one: "Boring stuck-up demon spirit coming right up to take over."

Isaac blinked as he was put back in control. He didn't expect Iko and SkullSatamon to relinquish it that easily, but it really was his hunt, wasn't it? Maybe it was only fair that they did so. He closed his eyes, doing his best to smile despite being little more than a skull right now. "Thanks, guys," he said, newfound purpose and determination flashing in them as he stepped towards the door.
He thought about everything that had brought him here. He thought about the D-Reaper incident all those months ago, and how he felt like the world would be better off if he just went away. Then there was his determination to both break this curse and keep doing as much good as he could in the process, a pair of goals that came to a head when his reckless heroism lead to Mitsuko at his own hands. If before he wanted to hide, after that he almost wondered if he was better off dead. All of his fears about himself had been vindicated, and just remembering what he had done was making him sick to his stomach.
Yet, people were still there for him, weren't they? Luke and Iko took him back in, made sure he was nursed back to health, and not only accompanied him on this spirit hunt but also continued offering to be his donors for DNA Digivolution. Dr. Mikemon treated him, even while reminding him about how much of an idiot he was. Alicia not only didn't blame him, but even put all of the stress and blame on her own poor shoulders. And Maia, his beloved Maia . . .
With them having his back, maybe everything would be okay.
Isaac reared back, then pried the door open with a single twist of his hook-tipped staff. From there, he could see that the door lead to . . . another door. This one was made of glass, and judging by all of the steam being vented outside of the room Isaac could see that there must have been some serious heat and pressure in there. A steel sphere sat in the center of the room, completely sealed off bar a pipe attached to the bottom of it. The piping lead outside of the pressure chamber, at which point it deposited pale grey liquid into a large holding chamber. Judging by the syringes that were next to the chamber, this was where the fluid was created.
"Alright, Luke, you're the physics guy," Isaac said, looking into the pressure chamber. "How likely is it I'm going to pop into a cloud of bones the second I walk in there?"

Isaac had definitely come a long way - surely a couple sets of doors, standing between them and the spirit, wasn't going to get in their way? A quick view of the Geiger counter confirmed that this was the source of, well, whatever the gauge was leading them to. And it was just as the Kokuwamon said:
A super-pressurized and super-heated container laid before them. Even the glass door likely wasn't safe to the touch, as this area likely wasn't designed with organic life in mind. Isaac's concern was a real one, as Luke took a quick look around the room. "Considering the main employees are machines, I would guess this place isn't tempered for 'organic' use - and unfortunately, SkullSatamon's bones are just organic enough to matter." Starting to give a circle around the container, Luke gave a mental sigh: there didn't seem to be any sort of breaker or depressurizing console in immediate sight either. Forcibly breaking the glass came with its own risks - such as previously tempered glass shooting throughout the room in all directions!
"That leaves us two options. We can either puncture a hole in the glass to depressurize - which might end up in the entire setup exploding..."
Luke walked up to the containment unit:
"... Or we can rip out the pipe that leads to this thing, and depressurize it that way."

It seemed that Isaac and Iko were left with two options. Either puncture the glass for the direct yet possibly more dangerous method, or slice out the pipe to at least release all of the heat and pressure in a more expected way. For the time being, Isaac figured the pipe would be the most safe and sane bet. He gave his staff another twirl, trying to line up the best angle for slicing the pipe without causing many other problems. "We should both probably steer clear, huh?" he asked. If the whole setup was likely to explode in case of depressurization, it probably wouldn't be smart to stand directly in front of the depressurized pipe.
Isaac made sure to tiptoe away from the pipe, making sure he was as far away from it as possible. Then he cleanly sliced through it with the hooked end of the staff, darting away afterwards to avoid being in range of whatever explosion was sure to occur.
However, much to Isaac's surprise, there wasn't any explosion. He had sealed the outer part of the pipe cleanly away, but this left a sealed door built right into the glass wall. Presumably the pipe had some sort of valve control in order to avoid leaking excess product all over the floor, only opening up to the high-pressure room when absolutely necessary. So long as the door was sealed, it didn't seem like Isaac and Iko would be making much progress.
It was likely a blessing in disguise. "Is it better or worse for us if we're able to pry this thing open bit by bit?" Isaac asked. "This might be our chance to get in without the whole room exploding on us. I think. Honestly, I've got no clue how this pipe works." It sure was a good thing Luke studied his craft diligently, or Isaac would be either lost in the factory bowels or exploded by now.

Well, that was a bust!
Honestly, with the rest of the way this factory was, Luke was surprised that the glass pressurizer had such a built-in protective measure. He honestly seemed a bit taken aback by the fact that it didn't work. It definitely sent Luke's thinking straight back to the drawing board, taking just a moment to examine that severed pipe.
Eheh! We should have just smashed it open to begin with - then we wouldn't have to worry about it at all!
That's not the problem, here. Inside, Iko shook his head, as Luke took one wide walk around the glass construct. The door had to be there for a reason, but again, wasn't this designed to be used by machine Digimon? Isaac's idea had more merit than he probably thought it did:
"... That might be the only way, as far as I can tell." Luke tapped the pressurizer with the back of a knuckle. "We need to make an opening directly inside - one small enough that the glass doesn't immediately shatter - so the pressure can normalize with the outside. And since we don't want to be standing in front of it..."
Taking a look around, Luke kicked up a metal pipe to his hand, and offered it to the SkullSatamon: "Let's just pry open the door?"

Isaac nodded in approval at Luke's suggestion. "I was kind of hoping you'd say that," Isaac admitted. "I was totally going to ask about that myself, but I didn't want to be making a dumb mistake if I was wrong." When Isaac was this close to getting his new spirit, it was understandable he'd start to be a little self-conscious. A dumb mistake here would just look bad, especially when he had mostly been the muscle compared to Luke's brains.
Nevertheless, now that they had a plan, Isaac was all too ready to enact it. He took a look at the pipe that Luke offered him, then pried it into the gap at which the pressure chamber's door sealed. It wasn't too hard of a feat. Ultimate-level Digimon were fearsomely strong, and just because SkullSatamon wasn't a huge dragon like Devidramon didn't mean that he didn't have enough force to bring to muster. It only took a second for him to wrench the doors open, an audible hiss coming through the air as heat and pressure started coming out through the crack.
With the pry made, Isaac started eyeing the inside of the room. If this was working, there should have been condensation forming on the glass walls. However, there wasn't any. In fact, it was this room that was starting to feel a little bit hotter! Isaac wiped his bony brow with the back of his hand, swiveling his skull to face Luke while the rest of his body kept putting work in. "And what happens if there's so much heat and pressure in the other room that this room overheats before that one cools?" he asked, occasionally taking worried glances at the pressure chamber.

At least with the pipe, Isaac wouldn't have been standing right in the way of the sealed glass chamber as it was peeled open - and thankfully, the worst of Luke's concerns was immediately passed. Breaking the seal to the pressurized chamber didn't immediately fill the room with reinforced glass shrapnel! As Isaac kept the door wedged open, they would definitely feel a shift in air pressure in the room.
One thing that Luke didn't entirely account for, however, was the heat! Feeling the room quickly boil up to quite a simmering level! Picking the top of the shirt away from his chest, Luke shook out his head. Compared to the ultimate, the mere human wasn't going to hold out if the heat built up too much. "Don't worry - just thank the fact we're in the Digital World for this." Slinging his bag off his shoulder, Luke reached into a front pocket, and pulled out what looked to be an old-looking book. Holding it open in his gloved hand, Luke took a small tap at the page:
"Let's see... 'Winds of the North, heed my call!'"
Well, this would take explaining later - but at that simple declaration, and with a bit of 'aim' from the tamer, Luke quickly brought forth a literal blizzard inside the chamber, focused and centered around the room's entrance. The colder air would naturally draw forth the expanding heat - so, in addition to cooling this room off, the Tome of Icy Fate's intervention would cause the outgoing 'wind' to efficiently funnel out the door, and through the rest of the much larger basement of the facility. Dispersed over so much space, the difference in heat would be largely negligible!
Hopefully, anyway.

Isaac looked confused as Luke pulled out a book. "Huh, that a field guide?" he asked. "Or did you swipe some of this place's schematics on the way out? I mean, hell, if you've got an alternate way of getting in there, I'm all ea-"
He was shut himself up when Luke conjured up a freaking blizzard in the middle of the factory. In fact, Isaac was in so much shock that he dropped his staff, which rolled awkwardly from one end of the room to the other as the wind started blowing in full force. "What," he said as he watched snow start to gather in the corners of the room, MetalKoromon letting out worried squeaks as they started zipping away. "What," he said again, as the heat from the pried-open glass entryway left small piles of slush start to condense down from the sky, the transfer of heat seemingly going at an even more rapid pace. He could see what remained of the fluid containment pipe start to collapse in on itself from the changes in pressure. He could even see condensation start to form on the glass of the room, a sign that the temperature change was now in full force. "Seriously? How the hell did you even do that?" he asked, dumbfounded.
There was no time to question for long, though. Isaac shook off his surprised state and lunged for his staff, quickly cutting a more him-sized hole into the glass room. This caused a small rush of burning-hot air to belch out, but the blizzard quickly silenced it. That was Isaac's cue to dive right in, curving his wing over himself for protection. He wasn't going to go entirely into the room, especially when the constant flashes of heat and cold were making him a little dizzy, but he was certainly going to put SkullSatamon's crooked staff to use. He ducked into the room with as much distance kept as he possibly could, swooping with the staff to try and snag the beast spirit of progress.
It took a few attempts, during which the rapidly changing pressure conditions were starting to rattle his bones, but soon Isaac had seized it. He pumped a fist victoriously as he pulled the spirit in close to himself, holding it tight. Then he turned to Luke, already prepared to make his way out of the room. "Alright, let's go before this place falls on us," he said, occasionally casting nervous looks over his shoulder towards the still-intensifying blizzard.

'What' was indeed a good question, but in their current state, Luke wasn't much for words. Over the howling winds, it would have been next to impossible to get a clear word out anyway, but seeing just how well the spell worked, Luke couldn't help but shoot a grin and a small laugh at the situation. No, the answer didn't come from Luke, but from the wolf laughing inside Isaac's head:
Hah! Luke and I have had our own stuff going on too! Don't worry, we've got this under control! Naturally, Luke and Iko had already tested the book a few times - this was just their first time using it in an applicable way, and boy, did the results show! The glass cooled, the depressurizing process quickened, and with the wind howling out through the basement, the SkullSatamon would no longer have to worry about being cooked alive in a boiler. Watching from a careful distance, wincing at every little tap given to that totem, Luke gave his own fist-pump as Isaac managed to snag the totem.
Of course, this blizzard would have been trouble... if Luke allowed it to stay up. "A Gentle Breeze from a Rolling Pasture!" That second declaration would echo through the room, however - and the frozen particles that swirled in the air would be caught, and float along by a much gentler breeze, Luke giving a slight breath of relief. Stowing the book away once more, the tamer gave a nod.
"We should get out of here, anyway. Even if the place isn't going to fall on our heads, we don't want to run into that Kokuwamon again."
But every window's a door!
Skull-Head has a point, ya'know. Let's just fly up to ground level, bust out an outward-facing vent or a window, and just get the heck out of here. Glad this place isn't in active use...

"Great. You get a badass magic book and a shadow-sword, and I get to stab a friend right through the stomach," Isaac said. "Although if we're counting all my spirits, I've got like three times the priceless artifacts that you do. So I guess I can't complain." Or, due to the D-Reaper, he could complain like crazy. It really sucked having to be saddled with that, even if he was finally approaching the end stages of dealing with his condition.
He sighed in relief as Luke dispelled the wind just as quickly as it had come. "Or we could do that," he added. "Nice thinking there. If you've got time, I'd love to see what else that book can do." Judging by the name, it sounded like a weather tome. Was it really just an especially kickass farmer's almanac?
For once, every member of the SkullSatamon fusion was on the same page. It was time to quite literally blow this popsicle stand. "Oh, you don't need to tell me twice," he said, walking back towards the original point that they had fallen from. There was still some residual ice from where the blizzard had come roaring through the factory, the MetalKoromon headbutting at it to try and get to the sweet, sweet outlets underneath.
Once Luke arrived with him, Isaac scooped him up with one arm and clutched his staff in the other. Then he took off towards the sky, swirling his staff for leverage as he went from basement to ground floor to . . . roof? Isaac seemed less interested in opening up a window and more interested in making his own. He gave his staff another swirl, then fired a yellow blast of energy at a weaker looking part of the ceiling. It started to shudder and crumble, making it feeble enough to fall with one last hefty slash from his staff. Soon he and Luke would be soaring through the open air, or at least as open as the air in the Hardware Den could get.
"Your window has arrived," Isaac said, an all too satisfied grin on his face.

Well, pick at that bandage again, why don't you? As Isaac muttered to Iko, all the wolf could do was return a sigh. He really couldn't argue with the spirit wielder's point, but considering that it was all working out for now - and mostly off of Luke's back - surely there'd be a better time?
Luke did have a comment as Isaac brought up the Tome: "Well, it would have to be another time. Regardless of which incantation I pick, it only works twice, every few hours. Other than that, all it does is give an accurate weather forecast of the area... providing no-one's using cards to alter it themselves, of course." Not infallible, but quite useful.
And soon enough, with the MetalKoromon starting to wander back in, Isaac and Luke would make their escape! Well, to an Ultimate level, every wall and ceiling was also a window - questioning his logic for a moment, Luke ducked his head down as Isaac broke through the roof. With a fine dust of metal debris now staning his jacket, the two would finally be free, flying in the open... underground space of the Hardware Den.
Er, right. "A little bit intense there, are we? Still," Luke looked back over his shoulder, seeing the factory disappear into the distance. "I say we make our way back to the Trailmon station before this all catches up with us. Since all they saw was SkullSatamon, all we'd really need to do is change our forms and roll out, right?"

Isaac rolled his eyes at Iko's internal sighing. "Hey, we're sharing a head. I could feel that," he said. "I mean, I'm joking around. Mostly. Not, like, ha-ha joking. But cope joking. Sometimes that's all you can do, you know?" Was he jealous of Luke and Iko over this? Oh, definitely. The book kicked ass, and the sword was one heck of an upgrade for Iko. However, he was more guilty than anything, and the easiest way to take his mind off of it was stupid comments like that. Otherwise, they tended to fester, and with what was going on inside of his head festering never ended well.
"Still two damn cool uses," Isaac said. "Does it have a list of weathers it can call up? Or is the sky the limit for you?" Isaac asked. It could've been anything from regular human weather to crazy Digital World weathers. Could Iko summon a Dark Area styled nightmare fog?
Oh well. They could probably talk this more after escape. "You've got that right. SkullSatamon, thanks for the help. Iko, brace yourself and get ready for impact," Isaac said, letting out a sigh as he began releasing his hold on the fusion. SkullSatamon disappeared into a soft white light, splitting apart into whichever form Iko chose to degenerate into and NeoDevimon.
As soon as NeoDevimon landed, he looked down at the spirit totem that they had liberated. It was a stout, purple statuette, with a three-horned grey helmet and large navy wings coming from the back. His arm not currently cradling the totem went slack, and all six of his eyes widened in absolute shock. He looked left, looked right, then held the spirit as if it was a football before charging off into the distance. It was time for another round of Iko's favorite game: catch that devil!

Heh - Luke had the cool new toy, and Isaac wanted to know how it worked! For the moment, Luke kept it simple: "Its based on the text read in the book, but exactly what comes up isn't always clear. One of them actually calls forth a storm of... well, Iko called it 'razorhail'? Either way, I understand why we tested those from underneath a steel awning."
Other than that, it didn't take long for the group to land. The Ankomon split away from the NeoDevimon as the group landed... and wow, NeoDevimon had it bad. Arms clutched around the totem, 'Isaac' made a mad dash through the Hardware Den, apparently quite intent on protecting his new find! Iko gave a sigh, planting his forehead against his palm, giving a glance to Luke. "Little help?"
"Yeah, I got it." Pulling and slashing quite a familiar card, Luke looked on as Iko bolted, not only catching up to the NeoDevimon, but smoothly - and almost casually - running alongside him.
"Yo," the wolf spoke up, "How about you quit screwing around and load that in your fractal code already? All you're doing right now is makin' a scene."

NeoDevimon did not seem to appreciate Iko giving chase. He wheeled around, keeping the spirit totem clutched almost uncomfortably tightly to his chest. His wings were spread rigidly, almost as if in a threat display, and a low growl escaped from his throat. It was clear he didn't want Iko coming one step closer. Most interesting of all, however, was the almost protective gleam in his eyes. It was different from the usual paranoia and mania that NeoDevimon often displayed, and the way his eyes kept darting from Iko to the spirit made this fact quite clear.
Isaac's voice coming from the demon helped break some of the tension. "Just to be clear, that's not me right now," he said, voice almost nervous. "I think we found another sore point right here."
Once his original threat had passed, NeoDevimon turned back to the spirit in his clutches. Interestingly enough, he seemed to be preening the draconic totem's stony feathers, something that would have been rather painful if not for having giant, gold-clipped claws. It didn't seem to be doing anything, but NeoDevimon happily chirped away nonetheless. Occasionally he stopped preening, whipping his head around to death-glare Iko and make sure he didn't make any sudden movements.
He hunched like this for a while, before finally starting to stalk away anew. As he did so, he muttered a few cryptic words: "Far too long . . ."
