The morning sun pierces through small gaps in the curtains of of the two large bay windows of Cas's flat, peering into the living room. Curled up in a blanket on the pull-out bed was Cole, the light making him turn over to try to get it out of his eyes...but all this managed to do was wake him up. After a couple minutes he sighed and sat up from the bed. He got up fairly slowly at first--he was recovering after all--but he felt pretty good now...the man stretching a bit, twisting, couple of pops could be heard. He'd tilt and turn his head about--neck popping and loosening up.
He'd walk over to the windows, gripping the curtains and opening them a bit, letting enough light in he squinted and turned away for a moment before his eyes adjusted. He looked outside, down to the streets below...already teaming with signs of life, this city barely slept didn't it...Cole leaned his arm against the windowsill, resting his forehead against his arm as he just watched people and cars going by for a while, seemingly deep in thought...his eyes didn't even follow the happenings outside, simply lost.
This probably went on for about 15 minutes, but something would bring his attention back to the real world. A light out of the corner of his eye. He turned to face the direction, seeing his folded up shirt he'd removed lastnight laying at the foot of the bed, a glow emitting from within the fold of the shirt. He narrowed his eyes. "...What the hell..." he muttered to himself, slowly taking a step closer--the light getting brighter. "...Ok either I'm seeing things or she drugged me in my sleep..." he'd say, an eyebrow raised.

"Cas....Cas..." A soft voice whined lightly near the Doctor's ear as a little foot pawed at the blanket covered lump that was the woman. Letting out a soft groan Cas herself rolled over pulling her pillow over her head and sending the little gold digimon tumbling back onto the bed as he lost his footing. It didn't take the Sakuttomon long to get back to his feet however despite being slightly top heavy. The little makeshift foam sheaths the Doctor had made for his blades let him safely leverage himself up without putting a hole in the mattress or getting stuck to the bed as he clamored atop the sleeping Doctor.
"Casssss~" He whined trying to grab her pillow with his mouth and tug it off from atop her head. "Cas I'm hungry!" He keened hoping to garner her sympathy, but only seemed to succeed in garnering his twin's attention.
"You're always hungry Dagger." The Caprimon grumbled from his spot on the end of the bed where he'd been curled up asleep with his tail tucked around him. "Some of us are sleeping." He complained with a large yawn blinking blearily as he hopped forward searching for the edge of the blanket before finding it and wiggling beneath. Carefully he inched his way beneath the covers doing his best in the pitch dark not to snag his horns on anything until his brother pounced atop him halting his progress.
"I am not! Sometimes I'm irritated with my twin." Dagger growled out only to fall off with a yipe as Cloak unseated him with a little buck from beneath the covers and continued inching his way towards his chosen human. Of course Cassandra didn't know she was chosen yet and Cloak knew Dagger had his own designs on her, but the Caprimon was certain given time she'd realize he was the superior of the pair. Thus making him the perfect partner for her once she got around to accepting him. It would just take a little bit of time, and planning, and patience. Things he was good at unlike his twin and as he carefully snuggled beneath Cas's arm under the covers. Tucking himself as close to her side as he dared without risking poking her with one of his horns Cloak quietly assured himself it wouldn't be long now.
Dagger however, had other plans.

Apparently he'd be the only one experieincing this, Cas's door remained closed and she was probably still asleep, along with her...'cats'. Yeah...we'll go with that, cats...Cole glanced around once before sighing. "...I guess standing here isn't gonna answer what the hell is going on." he reassured himself as he started to take a few more steps closer. It almost seemed the closer he got, the brighter the light got--going from a small glow to and outright shine as he neared his folded up shirt. His hand reached out and lifted up his shirt from the edge of the bed--and an object dropped from it--marked by the glow that lead him there to begin with. Now brighter then ever Cole could hardly look at it, but the man reached out and grasped the object...
Well...it didn't burn him, thats a good start, as he lifted the small object in his palm the glow died down, him looking at it within his palm as the shine shifted back to a dull glow, then finally faded all together, revealing the object in his hand. It was some sort of gadget...Cole raised an eyebrow--moving it, examining it, flipping it over to look on the back to see if there was instructions. Of course not...Cole huffed a sigh and his mouth cocked to the side as he gave the object the oddest look. "What are you...how'd you get here..." he asked it, as if the inanimate object would respond. But...almost on cue, it did respond. Not verbally no, but it suddenly lit up, a small minimap appearing upon the screen--marked with a blinking red dot. "...Is this a map? It does look like Shibuya a little...if it is I think that the mark is on the river..." he continued to quietly talk to himself...at this point someone may think he's crazy, talking to an object and himself like either would respond to him.

"Come on Cas wake up!" Dagger urged grabbing the pillowcase with his mouth as he tugged slowly dragging it from Cas's grip. "Ish ah neww dayb! Stime fror addventhure!" He cried out in excitement his words muffled around the pillow gripped in his mouth as Cas's finally sat up with a groan throwing the covers off which fell over Dagger causing the digimon to release the pillow with a soft oof as he struggled to free himself from his blanket prison.
"Ok I'm up! I'm up!!!" Cas grumbled scooping a now lightly dozing Cloak up in one arm as she carefully fished Dagger from under the blankets as she slid from her bed slipping her feet into her slippers before she turned to set her two temporary house guests atop the sheets. She wasn't entirely certain when, where, or how the pair had managed to end up in her room, but after her attempts to settle them on the couch had failed while she looked for a way to get to get them home she'd gradually begun to accept waking up with the pair sleeping at the foot of her bed as normal.
"You two are going to have to stay in here though. I have another guest and he doesn't know about the digital world so keep it quiet. If you're good I'll bring you back some waffles." She mumbled patting each of them on the head finding herself ever grateful she'd thought to make a sheath for Dagger's blades out of some pool noodles and duct-tape in order to prevent herself from impaling her own hand on his blades in her half-awake grogginess.
"Can we have tea too?" Cloak asked perking up just as quickly at the mention of waffles as his twin as he blinked the sleep from his eyes.
"Sure. Just behave." Cas murmured with a tired smile as she yawned, stretched, and began her trudge for the door. Only to open it. Pause. Glance between Cole and the device in his hand as she carefully closed the door behind her before letting out a string of expletives.

Cole had examined it for a minute, trying out buttons to see if they'd do anything--but nothing happened, it just stayed on a lackluster map that had a spot marked on it. His ear burned, the man turning to look at Cas's door...there was a rather sudden scramble and noises in there--even muffled words he couldn't make it...sounded like more then just Cas. He raised an eyebrow before he could hear the floor creek under her feet as she approached the door. He sighed quietly and went back to looking at the device...the curiosity on the young man's face was unquestionable.
Cas's bedroom door would creek open, Cole really paying it no mind until just after the door shut...and he was bombarded by the foul mouth of the groggy woman--making Cole freak out and almost drop it--frantically scrambling to catch it as the digivice fell and slipped from his hands a moment before he finally got a good grip on it again. He'd turn to look at Cas, eyes blinking in confusion. "...Ahh...morning to you too Cas..." he said, a comical sweatdrop sliding down the side of his head. He looked back to the Digivice, then held it up so she could see it better. "...I take it I'm not seeing things and I'm holding something then? And if so...what is it...? Cause it just appeared wrapped up in my shirt and glowing like some cartoon ancient artifact...." he said, frankly hardly believing his own words as he attempted to explain what happened to Cassandra. "Tell me I'm not crazy Doc..." he said, snickering a little at the attempt at a joke. Surely it fell flat.

Taking a deep breath Cas reached up and kneaded the bridge of her nose closing her eyes tight before she released a long slow sigh and opened her eyes once more. Yup the device was still there. Yup Cole was still holding it. Groaning in annoyance the woman shuffled passed him towards the kitchen.
"I am not F-in awake enough to deal with this right now." She muttered as she put on a pot of tea, pulled up one of the bar stools, and rested her forehead flat on her island counter top. Thus far she had sen such devices three times and each time had been accompanied by imminent disaster or interesting company of the slightly near death variety.
"I'm not the type of Doctor that can evaluate your mental state Cole. In my personal opinion though those little devices mean nothing, but trouble." Cas mumbled her words muffled slightly by the counter top before she finally felt up to lifting her head to prop her chin on the cool surface against which she was currently slumped, her hair in a disarrayed mane of blonde about her face.
"However I doubt you can get rid of it now that it's 'chosen' you as it were. I don't know a lot about them just that they're special." She explained unsure how else to describe them really having only been given the post basic of crash courses herself to begin with.

Cole's hand slowly lowered as she pinched and rubbed the bridge of her nose in annoyance, she clearly had some sort of idea of what it was...and didn't appear to be very fond of the device. But why? Its just a piece of...wait, what was it made of? Cole brought it back closer to his face to examine it more as she shuffled past the man. She...was clearly not a morning person, her sharp words and body language made that clear. He watched her sit at the counter and basically softly faceplant into the table, making the man blink in confusion looking at her.
Her sassy comment about not being 'that kind of doctor' made it clear she wasn't awake enough for a joke. Followed by what little info she had--more an opinion on it...this made Cole look at the digivice with question and concern expressed upon his features. "...Nothing but trouble?" he repeated quietly. He looked back to her, seeing her shift to rest her chin on the counter top. "...'Chosen' me?...Maybe I'm starting to think you're the insane one here..." he'd say, an eyebrow raised at the thought of her sanity. What did she mean by 'Chosen'? By 'Nothing but trouble'?
Coles eyes narrowed slightly as he got a bit more serious, sighing and walking over to the counter she sat at--pulling up a bar stool and sitting next to her...he'd place the dark gray and lightning blue D3 on the counter between them. He'd look over to Cas, eyes clearly taking a more serious tone. "...Why do I get the feeling wool is being pulled over my eyes again...this feels almost the same as--..." he stopped himself before saying anything more, eyes glaring off to the side. "...Anyways, its displaying a map...as far as I can tell its of Shibuya but its pretty tiny and lacks detail...But if I'm right this red mark is over the Shibuya River right?" he said, finger coming down to point out the--rather obvious--blinking marker upon the map. His eyes averted back from the device to her.
"...What do you know then if you have an idea what this is about? What do you mean by chosen and nothing but trouble?" he asked her, the serious tone of his voice crossing the woman's ears...But the man seemed to realize he was pushing for too much at once, his shoulders relaxing some and his expression shifted. "...Look, sorry to hammer you with questions...its just...."--he sighed--"I get this strange feeling...that this has something to do with something that happened a long time ago....its a bit of a touchy subject....I don't mean to be pushy." he apologized, jade hues glancing down with a somber look. That somber look seemed to quickly shift into thought as he for a moment would dive into his thoughts and out of reality again--a hand reaching up to grip the pendant hung from his neck through his shirt as he drifted into his own mind.

"Look I'm not trying to give you the run around on that thing Cole. I just honestly don't know all that much about them and I'm not sure if you'd even believe the little bit I do know." Cas explained as she leveraged herself up off of the counter and slunk over to her fridge. Pulling some frozen waffles from their packages she shoved them into the toaster and set them to cook.
"You eat waffles? Because I'm making waffles. Well as much as Ego waffles can be made." She mumbled glancing over her shoulder to peer at the device and the red mark visible on it with narrowed eyes. "Yeah yeah that does look like Shibuya river. Fuck...knew something was off about that place." Cas grumbled as she grabbed down two plates and set a teapot of water to boil. Taking a seat at the island once more the doctor tried to collect her thoughts.
"I've only seen a device like that three times. The first time was in the hands of a man who looked like he'd just gotten into a fight with death himself and spat in it's face. The second time was when I was attack by a strange creature out in the middle of the Shibuki forest while tracking an injured deer and a teen with a device like that one came to my rescue. He explained a little bit about what they are and what they do, but not much. The third time I was trapped on a train with a kid who had one and used it to save us when the train and tracks were overrun with more of those weird strange creatures." She explained doing her best to lay out her experiences in a way she thought a normal person might understand. Not that that was much help. She herself had always been rather open minded, but then again it was hard to be skeptical when one is attacked by digimon not once, but twice, and then starts getting them as patients and roommates.
"Look...have you ever heard of something called the Digital world or Digimon?" She asked doing her best to broach the subject gently.

Cole's jade hues lifted as her voice seemed to snap the man back into reality and out of his own mind, Cole looking back up and over to her as she spoke--standing up and retrieving frozen waffles from the freezer. He sighed, the 'wouldn't believe me if I told you' routine...what was this, a movie? Since when do people say that in real life? "I just had some mysterious device appear out of thin air glowing like its the holy grail and as soon as you laid eyes on it you went off like a sailor and said its trouble. At this point I have a pretty open mind..." he'd respond to her. He'd give her a questionable look when she asked about the waffles, now didn't seem the time for a bit of a subject change, but he knew she was just being polite...he after a moment nodded, acknowledging he wouldn't mind waffles.
Cole watched as the woman went about getting her tea going and sit down, finally she'd start to actually let him in on what she knew. It was a bit more then she'd made it appear earlier--thats for sure. Strange creatures, others with this device? Cole's eyebrow raised. She'd eventually come to a rather odd question for Cole, the young man blinking. "Digital world?...Digi-what now?" he'd say in obvious confusion as to what she was talking about...but likely before she could even continue the gears started turning and things begun to click...at least a little. His expression changed from confusion to a more neutral look.
"...Strange creatures....digi...'mon'...am I putting this together right, mon as in monster?....Wait, what am I even saying, monsters? The hell...But I expect as a vet you to know animals pretty well--so if you're to call something a 'strange creature'...well...I believe you. I doubt you'd get it mixed up with some obscure animal...But that still doesn't really tell me what this thing is."--he'd say as he picked the Digivice back up and looked at it.--"But its better then no info at all....Thanks Cas." he'd continue, voice a bit quieter at the end, said like he meant it. A sigh passed his lips and he looked up from the Digivice to Cassandra. "...Ok so...what is a Digimon then...or this Digital world you speak of?" asked the young man, looking to the attractive blonde. "Any info helps."

"No I know my animals pretty well and the things that attacked me weren't animals that I can say for certain." Cas spoke her voice somewhat strained, but solemn. She'd only rise once more when the waffles popped out of the toaster. Setting them on a plate she grabbed some syrup and a fork and a knife and motioned to Cole to come and grab his breakfast before she popped another two waffles into the toaster.
"The best way I can understand and describe it is the digital world is a separate world layered closely over our own. Like those two waffles stacked atop one another. Digimon live in the digital world, but sometimes temporary cracks between our worlds open up and they slip through or humans fall into their world." She explained pouring the syrup over the panics and motioning to wear it sort of soaked through the edges of the waffle.
"I'm told there are some stable portals between the two worlds, but I don't know where they are. Not all digimon are hostile, but a lot of them that come through are usually after something or are startled and lashing out." Cas spoke pausing in her mini lecture when the tea kettle began to whistle. Pulling down a pair of mugs she poured them both cups of hot water before dropping a packet of english breakfast tea into each to steep. She'd grab the sugar bowl from further down the counter and bring it to rest within easy reach between the two of them as a sneaking suspicion stole over the woman.
"Digivices from what I've been told allow a human to either become a digimon such as what are called spirit users or bond with one or multiple digimon forming a sort of symbiotic partnership. I've met two spirit users, but no 'tamers' as the partners are called yet." She murmured motioning to the little device in his hands.
"Maybe that location on the map is where your partner is waiting for you or your spirit or whatever." Cas added with a light shrug.

Cole listened to her basically confirm what he thought, that it was doubtful she'd mix up an animal and something else. He would stand once she motioned for him to come over--the young man getting his plate. He'd listen to her explanation of the digital world, and see her visual representation. He'd wait until she was done with the syrup before getting his own waffles a layer of it, returning over to the table as she continued on--the man taking his seat once more and looking over to her."You know, for saying you didn't know much--you seem to know a lot about it..." he commented in the middle of this.
The whistle of the tea pot made Cole glance that way--and once he noticed she was preparing two cups he'd stand, stepping over to give her a hand...two cups of hot tea and a thing of sugar was a bit much for two hands. Once he'd done that he came back to sit, looking over to her as she finished speaking--ended with a suggestion. "...Spirit users...Digivice...digital world...tamers...that all sounds absurd Cas." he'd comment--but this was followed by a sigh. "...But I can't deny I've already seen a bit of strange stuff today..." he added, trying to accept what she was saying...but he was clearly skeptical.
"Guess I won't know until I try to follow the marker on the map..." Cole stated, looking down at the Digivice. "...So why do you know so much about this...Did you get one of these...'Digivice' too?" he'd say, eyes rising to peer from under his bangs as they'd fallen forward when he looked down. He then turned to look at Cas's bedroom door. The man may have been in the dark, confused even, but he wasn't stupid--he could put things together...She was still hiding something, maybe these Digimon she speaks of...but he wasn't going to pry, sighing and turning back to his food. "Thanks for breakfast Cas." he'd say in a more sincere tone then usual.

"Ha! Lord no I don't have one! I'm not that interesting!" Cas exclaimed with a laugh having been caught off guard by his question even as she cut up the waffles into little bite-sized bits. This set wasn't for her exactly, but Cole didn't need to know that yet, but she wasn't certain how she was going to feed her 'guests' without making the man even more suspicious.
"I have first hand experience with digimon, but everything I know about Digivices is second hand sadly." She explained offering him an apologetic smile. "Though following the map is likely your best bet for finding out. I do have some digimon you can meet however, if you're still skeptical. Just no yelling, or kicking, or sudden movements. I've safety proofed them for the most part, but Dagger might still try to shank you if you startle him." Cas cautioned laying her offer out in the open even as she noticed his eyes trailing towards her door.

Cole would look back over to her from his food while she gave her retort. "...I mean...I think you're interesting..." he mumbled quietly enough she probably didn't even hear it between what she was saying. He'd hear her continue on, and it would confirm his suspicions...she doesn't have cats--no litter box, the talking and noises earlier he couldn't make out...he sighed and put his fork down, taking the cup of tea she'd poured for him and grabbing and sugar cube to drop into it, sweetening up the tea a bit before he'd take a drink. "Figured I may as well get a drink before I went up spitting it out trying to drink later..." he'd comment, just a hint of sass behind the voice.
"...I doubt you planned to feed waffles to 'cats'...plus there is no litter box anywhere I can see--maybe one is in your room but still...Nor does the place smell of cats. So...I'm to assume with what you're saying and with everything else...you have Digimon in there then..." he'd say, looking over at her as he set the cup of tea down. 'Heh...trying to keep secrets...kinda reminds me of how Scarlet was...' crossed his mind as he sat. "Make me a believer then Dr. Cross...cause right now I'm wondering if I'm just still sleeping and this is all just some really realistic vivid dream...Or that I've just straight lost it."

"Well they are pretty much bottomless pits. I have to feed them something and I did promise them waffles. They've been staying with me while I try to figure out a way to get them back home." Cas explained with a light shrug as she rose from her seat to set the plate of cut up waffles onto the small coffee table. It was always easier to feet the twins sitting on the floor then trying to get them to balance on the stools or couch.
"Be right back." She spoke opening her door as she slipped back inside to find two pair of eyes watching her intensely.
"Waffles?" Dagger asked hopefully and even Cloak seemed to eye her expectantly.
"Yes I've made waffles and I'll get you both some tea, but there's someone I want you to meet. He's got a digivice with a map on it that shows the same location as where I found you two. I think maybe he's the partner to one or both of you. Do you think if you met him you might be able to tell?" Cas asked as the digimon scooted forward letting her scoop them up in her arms even as Cloak gave a disdainful sniff.
"You're my partner. I don't want some lesser human." The Caprimon spoke clearly disliking this idea even as his brother growled and bristled.
"No she's my partner! I saw her first." Dagger snapped earning a snarl from his twin as Cloak shifted to face him only for their spat to be quickly interrupted.
"I am neither of yours partner. I don't have a digivice. Just give Cole a chance. That's his name." She spoke her voice firm as she interrupted them earning a petulant "Fiiinne." From Dagger and a pout from Cloak as she nudged the door open with her hip and stepped out into the open with the pair.
"Cole. This is Cloak and this is Dagger. They're digimon and I think one of them might be your partner. Do you want to come over and meet them?" Cas asked setting the digimon down on the floor next to the coffee table as she moved to grab a fork and make two bowls of tea with sugar as she set straws in them for the little digimon to drink from. The pair in question though remained fairly quiet and huddled close together eyeing the Cole himself with bright suspicious gold eyes.

Cole blinked as she went on to say what she had to say about them--the ending making him raise an eyebrow. "A way to get them back home?" he'd ask, but by now she was already on her way to her door and likely didn't hear him. He'd stand up while waiting for her to return...he could hear talking--voices not coming from Cas...maybe she wasn't bullshitting him.
A moment later she nudged the door open and Cole's jade hues fell upon the two creatures within her hands. Yep. Ok. He's either lost it or this is a dream. Those aren't real are they? No, stuffed animals maybe...but he was quickly proven wrong when he could see movement, breathing, clearly life from the two. Frankly her words didn't even hit him until seconds after she'd done said them, the man looking back up from the two Digimon to Cas. "...So...is today going to get any weirder?"--if only he knew--"Cause...er...ok so...these are Digimon...? Cloak and Dagger?" he asked, slowly approaching, but not getting to close...she did warn him of sudden movements, so he made himself as non-threatening as he could. He looked at the two--blinking. One looked like a furball in a helmet, the other like a...he didn't even know, gold with blades--carefully covered by Cas of course for safety--the man sighed and nearly fell back onto the barstool, sitting back down, eyes shut...Did he pass out? No, his expression proved he was still all there.
"...Heh...not what I expected...then again I don't know what I expected...I feel like I don't even know whats going on anymore." Cole said, voice a hint breathy. His hand would come to shove his hair out of his face and his eyes opened again, looking to Cas. "...You said something about getting them back home? Where is home, the Digital World?" he asked. He'd avert back to the two Digimon she held, a questionable look. "...Do they talk?"
