The dark forest. (W/ Adrian)

Walking through the dense forest, Chie soon found herself doubting the Digimon in front of her known as Do, but for all she knew about this twisted world there was an instinctive mapping memory, keeping her silence on that matter was a good idea for now as she figured it's better to understand the world rather then location. "So, to recap, this is a world full of creatures called Digimon, who can undergo a metamorphosis called 'digivolving' to a new form, and a new name, and the main bridge between here and my world is technology?" Do, walking in front of her through the woods, keeping an eye out for anything that comes his way. "Eh, that's the gist of it, the Digital world is inhabited by many creatures of many forms, and degrees of power. By digivolving, one can obtain a new form. Usually by training or the help of a digivice. Still, your jailbroken Digivice is a brain buster."
Pulling out her D-3 from her pocket, Chie looked at it, wondering why he referred to it as jailbroken. The mystery couldn't wait any further as she just decided to come out with it. Gripping the device, she knew if it could bring her here, it could lead outwards. "Okay, why do you refer to this digivice as 'jailbroken'?"
Do went silent for a second as he stopped in his tracks, that question was unsettling to him. He was by no means ungrateful to return to the form of a Dorimon once more, but the very notion of a digivice that wasn't the one presently hanging from his neck, made him uncomfortable that it happened all of a sudden. Chie noticed his pause, sensing that she may be approaching a line in the sand, she didn't want to aggravate the only decent being she met so far in this world, granted only two. Chie stood there silently, waiting for him to cut the silence, but figuring he'd never speak in his state, she took drastic measures.
Grabbing another chocolate chip cookie from her bag, she lightly tossed it to land in front of Do, who saw it and his saliva was faster than his eyes when he started drooling. Immediately he dived for the cookie, slamming his nose on the ground, Chie couldn't help but laugh a bit as she tried to cover her mouth with her left elbow. "Wow, are you part cat, or part dog?!"
Rolling over, with the cookie in his mouth and crumbs all over his chin, he shrugged. "Last I checked, Dorimon's are more feline."

While Chie and Do were talking about what Do truly was, very faint voices could be heard from far away. Those voices belonged to Adrian and Shoutmon, who had just gotten lost after another expedition to the Digital World went awry.
"Where is this place...?" Adrian asks. "Shoutmon, do you even know where we're going?"
"Uhhh... yeah, totally!" Shoutmon insists as he sweatdrops. That was a true lie; he had no idea where they were even walking to.
"Ugh, this is the last time I trust you with navigating this damn place. You barely know it yourself!"
"Yes I do too know it!"
"Which was is north then?"
"Ummmmmmmmmmmmm..." Shoutmon mumbles, not even knowing what north MEANT, much less which direction it was. "Errrrmm... that way!" He finally says as he points in an absolutely random direction.
"According to the compass... that is west."
"WHAT DOES WEST EVEN MEAN?! ARRGGGHH!!!"
"You're lucky we have a Digiport, Shoutmon, otherwise I'd be SERIOUSLY angry at you... wait, hold up," Adrian finishes, holding an arm out to Shoutmon. "Another human over there. With a... hmmm..." He uses his D-3 to scan the Digimon for basic info. "Dorimon...?"
Shoutmon was watching as well, when he saw the Tamer pull out a cookie. He started drooling as well. "COOKIE!" Shoutmon ran out of the trees and right next to the Tamer. "I want a cookie too!"

Seeing what appeared to be a miniature red dinosaur DJ shouldn't come to be a surprise given what Chie's seen lately, but what did surprise her was that for all the things that could bring one out, it was a cookie. Figuring better to just give the poor thing one as it didn't appear to be much in the way of a threat, and what harm could it do, she fished a cookie out of her purse and dropped it into Shoutmon's hands. "Here you go, enjoy. My name's Chie. Now, where did you come from?"
After Dorimon rolled back onto his feet, feeling the chains ratting around his neck as the old digivice hanging on it bumped back into his chin. He turned around slowly to face the Shoutmon, knowing all too well that things could go south, very quickly and easily. A Rookie rank, or anything above his, was bad news if they turned hostile. Eyeing Chie's D-3, he still was perplexed as to what it meant. Forgetting that for now, he looked to Shoutmon and felt better to get to the point.
"Yo, Chie, this is a Shoutmon, don't get too close, they aren't named carelessly. They can get very loud."
Chie looked back to Do, and rolled her eyes. "I appreciate the warning, not like I have a database on my own. Didn't you say you'd see anything worth danger?"
"Well, how can I anticipate a quiet Shoutmon? not like I knew you had extra cookies powerful enough to lure Digimon out of hiding. Do you work at a bakery or something?" Do walked closer as Chie bent over to wipe the crumbs off his mouth, only to get saliva on her sleeve. Before it solidified to metal Chie quickly removed her long coat. Picking up her purse and D-3, she let the metal sleeved coat before standing up to look at Shoutmon, but figured such a thing couldn't travel alone, at least without visible bumps and bruises.
However when she dropped her D-3 a moment earlier, she hit a button that opened a map. She saw three blips, and one blip separated from the bunch. Looking in the distance Shoutmon arrived, she called out to whoever was highlighted on her map.
"Hello? Is someone else out there? I can only get ambushed by so many digimon in one day before I reach my limit."

Shoutmon ate the cookie relatively fast as soon as it touched his hands. He ate it rather noisily, too. After wiping the crumbs off of his mouth, he looked up at Chie and smiled. "Thank you so much! Do you have any more?"
After hearing what the Dorimon said about his kind, Shoutmon's eye twitched. "I CAN here you, ya know..." He wanted to yell at him so badly, but he also didn't want to prove his point. Still, he couldn't deny it either. "Yeah, we do tend to scream a lot, but don't worry! I'm a nice Digimon, swear to Yggdrasil and hope to die!"
Adrian froze up when Chie looked in his general direction. Did she see him? He might as well just come out, since he didn't want any trouble at all. "Luckily for you, I'm not a Digimon," Adrian says as he steps out of the trees with his arms raised into the air. "I see Shoutmon found you first... he loves anything having to relate with food."
"Oh... sorry for running off, Adrian!" Shoutmon called over to him.
"No worries," Adrian reassures the red dragon, walking over to the group. "There's no stopping you when you see food, after all. Still, you probably almost gave her a fright when you just ran over here." Adrian turned towards Chie. "I apologize if my partner startled you in any way. My name's Adrian." He stuck his hand out to offer a handshake to Chie.

Another human was a great change as Chie let out a deep breath slowly and silently, it had been greatly annoying facing creatures that were gonna change forms constantly. Accepting his handshake. Feeling relieved that she wasn't the only human around. "It's fine, at least he didn't spontaneously 'Digivolve' into a pinecone. My name's Chie."
Letting go she gestured her hand towards Do. "This one is Do, we kinda met not too terribly long ago. I sorta, came to this world through a portal opened by this 'Digivice' thing. I found it after I fell off the Shibuya bridge, in a, rather delicate spot." Do, displeased at the level of detail she just gave a complete stranger yet didn't tell her anything about her so far. However he was disturbed by the reference to the bridge, but couldn't recall why. "Wow, that was more details then what you told me in the two hours we been together, yet I explained this world to you?"
Chie faced Do for a second with a piercing look to counter his rude display, even he shuddered for a second. "I figured he must be in the same boat as me, I still don't know if the 'digital world' is just another name for limbo. I did say I fell off a bridge. Couldn't you smell the cat piss on my coat? I'm surprised you didn't ask at all. Also you never asked anything, you were talking the past two hours."
Do looked at her coat on the ground, and smelled the back before stepping back. "Eugh, I thought that was just strange cologne, or perfume. Whichever is what you human's are excessive with."
Chie sighed, of all the possible cliches she could be stuck with, why did she have to be stuck with a foolhardy hero. Looking back to Adrian, she gestured towards Shoutmon. "So, what's the story between you and your companion here? He also promise to help you out of the woods?"

"Digivolve into a pinecone...?" Adrian asked, mainly to himself as he sweatdropped. "Falling off of a bridge...?"
There must be some crazy story behind that... Hell, Koromon digivolved right in the middle of a mall once.
After Chie gestured towards Do, he observed the Dorimon a bit. "This must be a Dorimon, correct?" Adrian asks. "I'm not too sure of Digivolution stages yet, but this one should become a Digimon called a Dorumon soon..."
He sweatdropped again when Do brought up a good point. "Yeah, that does seem kinda weird, huh... Anyways, welcome to the Digital World!"
"It really is a beautiful place, huh?" Shoutmon asked Chie. "Better than your stupid human world in a lot of ways!"
After Chie asked her question, Adrian just stared at her for a bit. He sighed and started giggling, which then became full on laughter. "Shoutmon is the reason we're lost in the first place! He couldn't find his way around even if there was a big sign telling him exactly where to go!"
"I'm not THAT clueless!" Shoutmon huffed and crossed his arms.
After Adrian was finished with his laughing fit, he took a deep breath and explained his story. "So my family and I moved to Shibuya recently. When we got to our house, I found that the owners apparently left a giant TV there. Suddenly, a Digivice popped out of that TV, along with Shoutmon! And before I knew it, we were apparently partners! It's only been a couple weeks, but it feels like years since we've first met..."

Hearing the name DORUmon made Do homesick, or rather form sick as he longed for that state once more. At hearing the name of Do's next form, she began to understand where his nickname came from. She couldn't help but laugh at that. "Dodomon, Dorimon, DORUmon. Wow, now I see where you got your name Do. What's the next one up, Doramon?" Not taking it lightly, Do was quick with a response. "Actually, it's DORUgamon, then DORUguerremon, and, umm, I don't know."
Chie chocked that up to him being of that evolutionary lineage, but intrigued Do knew so much about himself. However as Adrian explained how he and Shoutmon got lost in the woods, he couldn't help but break down laughing to tears. "Well, that's what happens when a tamer partners with a Digimon with no tracking skills whatsoever. I could track my way through here blindfolded now that I'm back to Dorimon."
Chie however, was hung up on how Adrian got his D-3, popping out of a TV was weird enough, but not surprising compared to all else today. "Wait, yours popped out of a TV? Mine was hidden in a crevice under a bridge in the Shibuya river. No accompanying Digimon though. After it opened a portal, I got ambushed by a Leafmon, or Minomon? Whatever you call it."
It just dawned on her that he said he knew Shoutmon for weeks, thinking that mean he's been here all that time. Realizing this isn't the best of environments already, she just wanted to check her options, if any. "So, you been here for weeks? Is there really no way out back to the 'human world'?"

"That's a lot of Do," Adrian joked after Do explain his Digivolution states. That caused Shoutmon to raise his hand up for a high five, which Adrian accepted.
"Like I said, I'm not THAT clueless," Shotumon said to Do after he accused him of having no tracking skills.
"Then why are we lost, huh?" Adrian asked his partner in response, which caused Shoutmon to huff even more and look away from the group. Adrian laughed a bit at Shoutmon's behavior. He then looked at Chie after she started asking him questions. "Yeah, that's how I got my Digivice. And no, I haven't been here for weeks. I just got here after school today."
Adrian got out his Digivice to show Chie. "It doesn't come with the Digivice automatically, but it is possible to buy something known as a Digiport. That should take you and Do back to the human world, and possibly back to here from there if you want. Don't worry, you're not trapped here forever."
Suddenly, Shoutmon's stomach growled loudly. Adrian looked over at the hungry Digimon, who was sweating nervously. He looked super embarrassed.
"Uh... do you have any more cookies?"

After Adrian explained the concept of the exits of the Digital world, Do couldn't help but chime in on the subject of Digiports. "Oh, yeah, Chie's already got an installed Digiport." Do could've sworn he felt a cold breeze as she appeared to go still. Nervous, Do tried to get her attention. "You okay?" Chie slowly turned her gaze towards Do, it was sharper than her knife and strong enough to make Do back up. In a tone that chilled Do's fur, Chie's piercing words broke the tense silence. "How long have you known this?!"
Hiding behind Shoutmon, Do responded quickly. "Since you entered, I saw the Digiport icon on your Digivice."
Taking a deep breath, Chie refused the urge to strangle him, mostly rationed it to the fact that his neck is too large to strangle.Closing her eyes, she decided to be lenient with mercy, after all, he deserved a chance to explain. "Why did you not tell me this sooner?"
Do, slowly came out from hiding, with his explanation of what occurred"Because, I think there's something wrong with your Digivice. It's jailbroken. z"
Sensing the full loop from a few minutes ago, Chie let it go as the Shoutmon's stomach started to rumble as he asked for seconds. Her sharpened gaze from before returns, straight for Shoutmon this time. Instead of criticizing the Digimon's lack of manners, she sighed, and dug into her purse, and threw an apple to the hungry Digimon.
"Sorry, I may work in a bakery, but I don't carry a billion cookies, if you're really hungry, have an apple instead."

Both Adrian and Shoutmon got nervous when they saw Chie turn to Do like that. Mental note: do not piss this girl off. They both tended to just step back when Chie started yelling; they wanted no part in that at all. Of course, that wasn't an option, as Do hid right behind him.
"Hey, hey, hey, I am in NO WAY a part of this!" Shoutmon exclaimed as he took a few steps to the right, letting Do fend for himself.
"Wait..." Adrian said after Do explained what happened. "A jailbroken Digivice? Do, can I take a look at that Digivice for a second?"
Shoutmon made an "eep" sound after Chie stared at him. Was his stomach really that loud...? Either way, Chie did pull out something. Even though it wasn't a cookie, it was still food, and that was good enough for him. He happily ate the apple in one bite... but he was still hungry.
"Do you... have any more food?"
"Shoutmon, you bottomless pit..." Adrian groaned.

Chie figured that Do's plan was to take her Digivice to someone who knew how to fix it, figuring by their reactions she had every male here around her finger. She handed him her Digivice, wondering how it could be jailbroken. "Honestly, I'm not sure how this could be jailbroken, aside from bring me here, and light up the screen when Do Digivolved, and the gps, I haven't really used it. "
After Chie handed him her digivice, she eyed the smaller green device on the chain around his neck. "Do, I've been meaning to ask, that device around your neck, ia it some sort of Digivice?"
Do, uncomfortably turned around, letting out a breath. "Yes."
The red dragon's hunger no longer surprised Chie, she could tell his hunger would not go down easily. Were she in a kitchen, she'd have her way, and leave him begging to not see another bite. But even she feared that may be too much of a challenge. Focusing back on the matter at hand, her Digivice, wondering how much more Adrian knew about Digivices. "Well, think the problem's in the device?"
Hoping Adrian would catch on on to the wording, as she started to suspect what was really going on.

"Wait, the screen lit up when Do digivolved?" Adrian asked Chie. He looked at the device, Chie, and Do alternatively for a few seconds. Suddenly, it all came to him: this Digivice wasn't broken at all. "Wait, you seriously haven't figured it out?"
"Figured what out, Adrian?" Shoutmon asked.
"That Chie and Dorimon are partners! This digivice isn't jailbroken at all!" That caused Adrian and Shoutmon to both glare at Do intimidatingly.
"Why would you lie about the digivice, huh?" Adrian says, seeming much, much scarier to Do now. "You must not WANT Chie to go home then!"
"Yeah, you better fess up now. Otherwise-" Shoutmon was interrupted by his stomach growling again. However, that gave him an idea. "...otherwise I'll EAT you! And don't think I'm joking, because clearly I'm not!"

Do, had been figured out. While being pressed into a corner by Adrian, he wanted to back away but he could tell this would not end well. Chie, however was confused, but catching on piece by piece. "Partners? I don't recall signing any contract."
Do, thinking he knew who his partner, was, couldn't stand for any foolishness. After Shoutmon joined in, Do finally had his limit. Yelling back at Shoutmon, he let everything out. "Her! You think I want her to stay! She isn't my partner, I already have a partner. I don't know how her digivice worked on me."
Confused, Chie figured now would be a good time as any to ask the obvious question, after all, how could she resist the urge. Grabbing her Digivice, She looked at Shoutmon. Figuring out what triggers things in motion, while their pages were close enough. "Shoutmon, I appreciate your help, but make like your partner and show restraint."
Do, not realizing what was going on, couldn't help but join in. "Right Dragon breath, threatin' to eat me? How would that help anyone?"
Chie's Digivice's screen began to glow again as she pointed the screen towards Do, as the light hit him he began to glow white. His body reshaped itself into a fox like creature with tiny wings out of his back, and a technological interface in the top of his head after the light faded. The old digivice hanging around his neck. "Ah yeah, back to DORUmon!"
Chie sighed and turned to Adrian, positive she knew this confirmed something. "Does this prove he's stuck with me? I don't think I can work with this one on a regular basis."
Do, took offense to that, looking back to Chie, crossing his newfound arms. "Well, I should've seen that one coming, so you use Shoutmon as a crutch for Digivolution to prove that we are in fact partners. Begrudgingly, he realized he admitted the truth that he tried to avoid, the past happened, and so did the present. He shuddered to think of the future.

"Hey, wait a second, YOU USED ME!" Shoutmon yelled angrily at Chie.
"Well, maybe you shouldn't have threatened to eat him," Adrian tells the red dragon, who huffed in response. "Seriously, that's a bit much, even for you.
"It's not my fault that I'm starving..."
"You're always hungry. Get over it," Adrian says. He then focuses his attention more on Chie. "That Digivice is yours, right? It made Do digivolve, so yes, you're stuck with him. But the real question is, why would Dorumon lie about you two being partners...?"
"He probably has so much pride that its coming out of his butt," Shoutmon suggests. "In my experiences, Digidestined aren't too popular in the Digital World..."
"He doesn't seem THAT prideful..." Adrian says.

As Adrian asked a previously answered question, Chie couldn't help but face palm. If they paid attention to the dialogue, they would know the answer already. "Both of you, he already answered that question, he said, and i quote 'she's not my partner, i already have a partner'. Frankly, I just got to this place so I don't know how human-digimon relations work, but is partners supposed to be for life?"
Do shrugged as not even he knew what to say about this situation. He had never thought he would see the day with another partner. Annoyed at the lack of understanding from these two, he let out his fury. "You think I'm the problem, try having the other go missing for a while and all of a sudden get placed with someone else?"
Chie smacked Do on the head, displeased with the burst of attitude her digimon shown. "Ouch! What was that for?" When he looked up, he couldn't hear even a breath from Chie, making him nervous. "Jumping Koromons, where did you learn this concentrated rage?". Unbreaking with her stoic, cold, almost heartless stare, she responded briefly."Working in a kitchen." Do shuddered to think what kind of kitchen can produce a chef that can intimidate Digimon. Although even he could sense there was a lot of pent up frustration in his new, partner. Struggling to get used to the word.
Turning back to Adrian, still having questions about her options. "So, where in the human world will this Digiport take me?"
